Did your girlfriend make you come here? Yeah, me too. I did, however, find Christmas gifts for both my parents here. Several booths have antique cameras which are cool, and a couple with cool rocks and gems. So, I will say, I stand in solidarity with all the guys whose girls are about to buy something too expensive, but I will ask you to look about, you may find something really cool.
After five years in Atlanta, I finally made it to Kudzu Antiques. There are some special pieces there, including furniture and decorative pieces, as well as some vintage clothing items. However, the quality of some items, as well as the service was disappointing. I found some of the furniture pieces visibly wobbly. A small closet priced initially at over $300 nearly fell down on me after I tried to open the door. A technician noticed a problem the first time I came in and said he would fix it, but second time around, the same issue occurred. As for service, there are a lot of people working at Kudzu, but the expertise and the sales tactics are really mixed. Having lived all over the world, including Asia and Africa, I found it a little off-putting for an employee who is selling fair trade clothing only to tell me a story of two Western women somehow discovering Kenyan design and taking it to America. Another revealing experience was offering one of the employees (Andy) to sell a few very high quality items, including two 100% silk vintage piece and a pair of vintage woven natural slippers. Of the three items, she offered me $6 for one of them (a silk dress) without a blink. Thats appalling given that polyester low quality clothes are hanging all over this shop marked up at $30 as the lowest price from what I could see. I have sold my vintage items online and in other shops, and never received such a low-ball offer. All in all, enjoy the experience, but anticipate meeting some pretentious sale attendants and do check your closet before you buy it, it might just fall down on you.
I love the set up, and Ive always found great treasures here. The rooms tend to be themed and the variety of styles is fantastic. Its great for a shopping experience but also fun if you are just looking for a fun way to spend the afternoon. Also I had some work done on a lamp and found it super reasonable as far as pricing and labor costs. The staff are all great and very helpful.
Wonderful antique store with great customer service. Greeted with a smile & welcome at the entrance. The young gentleman who provided personal customer service attention to everyone assisting with questions was refreshing & helpful. The store is filled with beautiful unique pieces and & friendly reminders of the past. Enjoyed visiting & thankful for my friend telling me about this place. A Must go to!! Plenty of parking & Social distance/masks requirements in place. The store has a really nice flow with how everything is arranged, to accommodate this need. Stay safe.
While it is slightly overpriced, you could literally spend hours in the store. My friend Margo said it is my favorite place in Atlanta! Within the one store there are many collections. In each collection, you can see the curated taste of various Atlanta locals, ranging from vintage to eclectic to rustic. Whether you enjoy browsing storefronts or immersing yourself in the finer details within collections, this is the place for you. Within its walls, any variety of treasures may be found if you spend enough time looking. There are a wide variety of rare trinkets, gadgets, artwork, decor, furniture, clothes, and even appliances. This store is one of the few that offers truly unique and well-curated collections, and anyone who enjoys antiquing, thrifting, or boutiquing will be at home at Kudzu. This is a cant miss. I love this store and highly recommend it to everyone.
I cant believe I havent sounded off on how amazing this place is for gifts. I love a good hodgepodge market and this place was as get of as they come. I cannot recommend them enough for shopping and gifting local goods! Also they have great furniture for homes from repurposed items and lots of garden sculptures of your into that.
Been here quite a few times and always have enjoyed seeing the different booths of varying items. So many eclectic finds here. Great place to stop any given day, but especially for a unique birthday/Christmas/special occasion gift. Check it out! You wont be disappointed!
Super cool place! If you are looking for a mix of handmade artisan pieces and thrift store finds this is the place. It is broken into an upholstery and stained glass section for large furniture, handmade arts market with jewelry and ceramics and multiple antique stalls from different sellers ranging from furniture to cameras to leather jackets. Super fun place to waste a few hours in looking around and we left with a few pieces for our camera collection and a brand new sofa!
Have been for years and still is one of my favorite places to go and find very nice antiques and unusual things for your home or yourself, you could spend hours here and still not see it all. Extremely helpful very nice friendly staff. If you got a couple of hours to doddle and browse this is your place to be.
We went there for the first time just randomly. They had live music and a Santa to take photos with which I found to be pretty awesome. The antiques section was my favorite and I wish I had mare time to spend there. There were some unique pieces if youre in to antiques. The modern section looked great too but my focus was on the antiques. Were definitely going back to check it out and get something unique for the house.
Awesome shop! Lots of individual booths, but what sets this shop apart from the rest is how nicely curated and orderly the booths are. No jumbles of junk here; instead youll find a nice presentation of diverse merchandise encompassing multiple decades. Something for everyone and a great place for an out of the ordinary gift.
I love this store. It has a good mix of new and old and some excellent gifts and cards. Took my daughters bf today. Great. Lets go look at old stuff. He had a great time! There are some really beautiful pieces and some awesome kitsch. A brilliant pace to spend a rainy afternoon.
I love this store. Make sure you have enough time to browse slowly. There are a lot of things you may not notice, if you dont take your time. The prices are fair and they even have layaway for more expensive items. The staff are friendly and helpful I have found so many cool unusual pieces for my home. I would highly recommend it.
Great store! They separate all of their items by theme. So you can find 60s, 70s, vintage New Age, vintage games, furniture from every era including current day. Everything is in spotless shape. Which I appreciate in an antique store. The woman working there was so kind, she offered to take the items I was carrying to the front while I looked around. Highly recommend!
Plenty of variety at pretty fair prices. More space between pieces than at other antique shops, so easy to navigate the store without worrying youre going to bump into something every few seconds. I really enjoyed the book area, with some wonderful books going back to 1800s (although, it kills me a little when people use pencil to write the price on the inside).
Really a great place. Amazing selection of booths. Prices will tend to be highly variable given that people rent spaces but stuff seems to be priced fairly or better. We nabbed a vessel sink for $125 which retails for $1200 (I confirmed this independently of course). We also grabbed a Amish table made from an old barn. I mean, its not an antique but it had that rustic artisan feel and it was priced cheaper than other 6 foot tables we had seen.
My favorite place to buy furniture and fun decor items and treasures. The Eye of the Beholder booth is the first place I go when hunting for treasures because theres always something there I fall in love with. All of the booths in Kudzu are so unique and cool that I find myself there almost every week! This place is a must see location when visiting Georgia.
Very neat and expansive upscale peddlers type mall with individual stalls selling everything from furniture to antique spoons and everything in-between. You will need at least 30 minutes to stroll through if you actually glance at everything. The staff are super helpful and friendly and there is plenty of parking. Here you can also find outdoor decorations, unique home gifts, and all sorts of oddities and antiques. Think Paris-on-Ponce as its a very similar business. Prices tend to be a bit high but many of thses industrial or antique pieces are trendy right now. However, there are definitely gems to be found.
A wonderful gem. The variety of stuff is outstanding, the prices are extremely reasonable, especially for the unique and curated collection that cant be found just anywhere! Me and my partner have a shopping list to save up towards and plan on decorating the house with items from this store.
There are some nice pieces but do your due diligence on the more expensive items. We were looking at a mid century piece with a price that matched but we pulled out one of the drawers and it had a new looking plastic piece on the drawer runner. Def not mid century. Totally reproduction.I know this is the vendor who labeled the item so I dont blame Kudzu. Just know what you are buying to avoid disappointment.UPDATE: Thank you Kudzu for responding to the review. You always have loads of interesting items. We will be back.
I had not been to Kudzu in years, but it was everything I remembered and more. I walked through the store on a quiet morning. Id driven a friend over to pick up a few items she had dropped off for repairs. I mention it because I didnt know they do this and she says their rates are very reasonable. There was just aisle after aisle of kitsch of all sorts and some of the most gorgeous furniture. Ill definitely be back. Its a great place to find collectibles, antiques and oddities.
Wow this place was crazy around the holidays! No surprise, there are so many unique gift options here. Kudzu has items for many different types of collectors, and I found so many amazing items looking through their booths. They have everything from collectable salt shakers, vintage Playboy magazines, antique radios, unique furniture, babydoll head planters, yard sculptures, and a ton more. And of course there are new things being brought in all the time. Definitely worth a visit!!
Make sure you allot plenty of time to explore Kudzu! The store is huge, and there are many stalls with small items. Ive seen some really cool stuff here, but have found most items to be outside of my normal price range. I have had a few scores here, but mostly, its just fun to browse and look at antique & vintage items. They also have a great instagram account! Follow them for a sneak peak at their items and sales!
Two stars because in the past Ive enjoyed this store but today was a very disappointing experience. The store asks that customers wear masks and I have no problem with that. Theyre a private business and can set policy as they see fit. However, I unfortunately contracted Covid-19 a couple of months ago and was left with some lung damage as a result, just like many others who have had it. My doctor cant predict when the leftover damage will resolve if at all. Getting adequate breath when walking around is challenging and wearing a mask makes it near impossible. I have also been tested twice recently to confirm the presence of antibodies. (To be extremely sure before I went out anywhere) Every other place Ive been to where masks were required, employees have been very kind and understanding about why I wasnt wearing a mask. Ive never been told, after explaining, that I had to put it on. BUT it was different today at Kudzu. When I was asked to put a mask on by the Kudzu store employee, I tried to explain my situation and even offered to show my medical information which I now keep on my phone for these exact situations. Unlike other stores Ive been in, this employee told me it was mandatory and declined to even look at the material I keep on my phone to confirm my medical situation and that I dont have Covid. She said they have vulnerable employees so I tried to explain that Im not a danger to anyone, but she wasnt interested in listening. I understand why stores want people to wear masks, but Kudzu needs to understand there are some people who are not able to wear them: people with real medical conditions who arent putting anyone at risk by not wearing them. I should also add that this very large store was almost completely empty of customers on this Tuesday morning and I was never within 6 feet of any other customer or employee. I carry a mask in my purse because when Im sitting for long periods like at work or church it doesnt bother me to wear one, so I do, just so I dont have to explain to everyone. But when I tried to walk around at Kudzu in my mask, very soon the dizziness started. I left the store and waited in my car until I was comfortable enough to drive away. I want to support local businesses and I took today off from work to shop for that very purpose. I was extremely saddened to have this experience. Yes, this lung condition is my problem not theirs, and Kudzu doesnt have to care about it at all. I was just extremely surprised because every other store in Atlanta where Ive been that required a mask has been extremely kind and understanding when I explained my situation (and I have always offered proof if they wanted to see it). Kudzu was not. I also fully understand its their right to tell me I have to leave if I dont have a mask on, so thats what I did. But maybe in the future, if the employees become a little more educated about what risks people like me actually pose, theyll be kinder to the next person in my position.
I was impressed with the selection of different items being a man that was shopping with the wife. I dig man cave stuff and the wife likes shabby sheek. I will advise telling you lady folks to check it out with or without your hubby or if you are into the same sex then bring them to.
I like some of the furniture but I wish they were more affordable. The real reason I give this place a 5 star is for the Rare books section by Black Cat Caboodle. They have older editions of some classic childrens books that make me want to cry with happiness and the artwork is magical.
If you are looking for something unique and retro, then this is a place that you must visit. They have a variety of items ranging from back in the day china ware to outdoor furniture. Its a large store and I would have loved to have stayed longer to browse. Nice people!
My favorite way to spend a spare hour in Atlanta. Lots of interesting things to be seen and so fun to browse. Delightful history and surprising pieces. This is my first stop when looking for a specific piece for my house. Great place to bring your visiting guests, Mom, or for a quirky date.
This is my favorite antique store in Atlanta. Its huge and always changing with new great stuff or I guess old stuff. Well, not everything here is old... Either way, its got a lot of great booths that I like to revisit. One of my particular favorites is the Industrial Chic vendor. Prices are reasonable and lots of cool stuff to keep you busy on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
This is my favorite place to unwind and find treasures in Atlanta. The selection is amazing with new things all of the time. The staff is super friendly and very helpful when you are trying to find a special treasure! It makes me sad that I cant stop by more often.. But.. the best thing is that they have opened a new store closer to home in Sandy Springs called Kudzu & Company on Roswell Rd. Nirvana!!! A must for the vintage shopper!
I have shopped here many times and every time the employees are rude and unfriendly (as two other reviewers on here have mentioned). Today will be the last time I gave them my money. There are many other antique stores in the area whos employees are nice to their customers. As much as I like the store, I will take my business elsewhere. Hey Kudzu, maybe try being kind to your customers before you lose them all.
Ive gotten lots of cool stuff from here over the years, but we got this painting of a dog thats haunted but in a good way, and we named it The Duke, and that ghost dog watches over our house and smiles down on the living room, and its a real cool thing. Go get yourself a good ghost today.
There are some great finds here, if youre willing to look. It can be a bit more pricey than antique stores outside the perimeter (like, say, in Monroe), but for Decatur, its not that bad. I have quite a few pieces in my home that I purchased there.Haggling isnt really a thing here like it is at some antique stores, but it IS possible, depending on the particular booth and vendor and how long the item has been there. Never be afraid to ask!!!
This is a favorite place to just wander and window shop at the wide variety of booths and their items for sale. You never know what you might find, so expect anything and everything from knick knacks you reneger seeing at your grandparents house to nice furniture. You can usually find stained glass windows and vintage clothing. I once found an old LP I had been looking for for years.
This is the place for everyone! It was a complete surprise. You can order new furniture and shop for funky antiques or fine pieces just off the boat from England. The prices are very low compared to any other Atlanta stores. It is a third of the prices in Buckhead for the same quality. Truly a treasure hunters paradise and constantly changing their inventory.
I like this store...the items are over priced. But dont let my comment discourage you. You might find something you need. For example the day we went we found that little knob goes on a lamp and the screw (free). Take time to look around theres a lot of stuff and its a variety of vintage indoor and outdoor items.
Used to love coming here. I hate it now. Several of the staff are rude. Have had several occurrences here that have made me decide for the last time not to come back. There are so many other stores around Atlanta that actually want your business. For starters their prices on stuff are largely expensive. And the fact that they are mostly unwilling to do better on things that are WAY over priced is rediculous. People expect that in an antique store. I own a home and garden store and have much of the same stuff that is in their store that is made to look old and since I know what the wholesale cost is, their mark up is 3-4 times the cost.Once my card was charged twice and I had to fight with them for 2 weeks to get it returned back to my card. They had some long excuse about how the bank works. Funny never experience that in other places. WHEN I CALLED THE BANK THEY HAD NO IDEA ABOUT WHAT I WAS BEING TOLD BY THE STORE.Bought a very heavy porcelain farm sink for my store, asked them to hold it for a week til I could get a truck and get it, 1 week and 1 day later I got a call threatening if I didnt pick it up that day they were going to put it back out and sell it with no refund. (Not, is everything ok? Have you forgotten?). It was in their storage space which is huge and barely full. I was so annoyed when I went in there to help carry the sink out.Ive spent well over 8k in their store outfitting things for my home and store and never once received a better price on anything. Even when I go into the store they never even remember who you are. Even if just by the face.Today I asked one associate if they could do better on something and she said no, this is a private dealer and we ask them to mark it their lowest, but if it was an actual Kudzu piece then we could. so I pushed.. could you ask a manager? She got curt and huffed off. Manager walks over and says to me, no we cant. This is a kudzu piece that the owners brought back from France. (The tag said England). I told the manager that the associate just told me if it was a kudzu piece you could. She said no. Then started to get abrupt. And so I expressed how disappointing it is to always shop in this store, especially for how much Ive spent there. Her response (in a VERY patronizing tone: SORRY. If you dont want to buy it you dont have toThe guy who makes metal industrial furniture: last time I was in kudzu I wanted to buy a cabinet that was priced at 2200 dollars. Again, asked for a better price and was told thats the lowest. So I went over to Paris on Ponce where he sells the same stuff, got the same exact cabinet, listed at 2150.00 for 15% off.So today I sit in the parking lot typing this to let everyone know.BE PREPARED TO PAY HERE. PAY MORE THAN WHAT YOU WOULD AT OTHER PLACES. AND DONT EXPECT A BETTER PRICE. DO EXPECT RUDE AND UNTHOUGHTFUL SERVICE!IF YOU ARE FROM OUT IF TOWN LOOKING TO ANTIQUE, DONT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY A LOTAs an Atlanta business owner, deeply saddened to see how uninterested this place is about their customers. Funny thing is, in sharing this story with friends theyve all said they felt the same way!
I enjoy this store normally plenty of nice items to choose from, I have noticed that they have an abnormally large amount of racist caricatures and art work, some of it right by the register in plain site. If they could remove those obviously offensive images Id be happy to give them five stars.
These people are amazing with so many different things to choose from and so many different Adams coming and going its really a beautiful place with beautiful people never had a bad experience here always greeted with warm kindness and smiles will always come back here Kudzu rules
My husband and I went to this store to look at the Robin Bruce furniture. My kid (a 30lb 3 year old) got over excited and jumped on the couch. I was sitting right beside him trying to calm him down. An older, top-heavy brunette ran over and yelled Get off, thats for sale. Was she speaking to me or my child? She didnt ask if we needed help with anything. She just huffed off. My husband got upset with her rudeness and we left. I guess Ill head over to Nandina Home and see if theyre any more personable. There are several stores in Atlanta that carry Robin Bruce and thats the nicest stuff they have at kudzu. I bought a used chair from Kudzu a few years ago. It broke within a year.
Received their staycation e-mail July 3rd telling about their great sale through July 11th. traveled an hour to the store 4th of July morning to take advantage of such a great offer. a sale for all the brave souls who stayed in town, and that they had air conditioning. pull in the drive way at opening time along with 3 other cars. wait 5 minutes, 10 minutes, call the store............. theyre closed 4th of July. thought maybe Id made a mistake, drove an hour back home, looked at the e-mail......... no mention of closed 4th of July. called the charming owner George who basically said oh, Im sorry. we have a sign in the window saying were closed the 4th. when I told him that wasnt good enough, he swore at me and hung up. dont know how these idiots have been in business so long. maybe he should look into another line of work thats not customer related. half a tank of gas for NOTHING!
Took lamp to be rewired, they wrote on ticket in large letters to call with price before fixing.About 2 weeks later a lady called and said it was ready for pickup. She also said she had only replaced the socket and used my original cord ! The price was $44.14 (the socket was $6.58) I was never told of cost beforehand! When I questioned about cost at pickup I was shown the tiny little print on the bottom of receipt that said they would call if cost was over $45.00! I call this a got you practice by KUDZU .
Honestly, Kudzu is one of, if not THE most impressive interior decorating-antique stores in all of Georgia. Eclectic, tasteful and well procured. I can only think of a couple other antique stores that are on the same level as Kudzu. Every Atlantan should have visited Kudzu as a rite of passage. Kudzu is so woven into the fabric and reflects the spirit of Atlanta so well that no one should be able to call themself an Atlantan without visiting here at least once. Thank you for being exactly who and what you are Kudzu.

2019-01-03Really cool place. Bring your walking shoes because there is a lot to cover. A great mix of pieces from all era’s.It’s located right down the street from Dekalb Farmers Market. For some reason I love antiques shopping on raining days. They have a nice size parking lot for easy access. They also have clean restrooms for those making a day trip out of it. The building is also wheel chair accessible with a ramp right in front of the entrance.
