This review is for takeout only. We ordered 13 rolls on a Friday night. It took about 45 minutes. We were disappointed that none of the rolls were labeled, so it made it very difficult to tell whose was whose.I wish I could tell you what we ordered and which were which in my pictures, but I truly dont know. The rolls were big and filling. I tried 4 different rolls and really none were my favorite. They all kind of tasted about the same.My friends have raved about Kuroshio, so maybe Im just missing something. I would give it another shot.
Great location an great customer service…my waitress was awesome today…I think her name was Chelmy…I was seated right away…an as soon as I sat down I was offered menus an ask what I wanted to drink…the service was excellent an she also showed me what was on the lunch specials menu as well..eventually I ordered the chicken fried rice & egg rolls w/ a coke an a smile….I will definitely be back soon….
Pretty much the best restaurant, in general, that I’ve ever been to. Fast service, drinks arrive 30 seconds after you mention them. Maybe 45 if there’s more than 6 in your party.Best fried Calamari, hands down! Sauce was exquisite as well!Sushi was phenomenal! Been here 3 different times, servers are very knowledgeable, quick, and considerate.Sake was delish, watermelon apple and lycheeI blame the customer if they have a bad timeHere
Great sushi selection, food was delicious and fresh. However, I had to search for my Server the entire time which was annoying and if I’m being honest no one should be serving people if they don’t want to be around people 💁🏾♀️ Still a great restaurant, and I will be back soon.
Something is not fresh or pretty clean at the restaurant, Please be CAREFUL. I ate yesterday 2 rolls and I wake up TODAY with BIG inflammation in my eyes! the other eye is the worst!!! Look terrible (red and inflamed) By the way I never have allergies of nothing, not even for sea food. BIG RED FLAG 🚩 this is the second time it happened to me in this place. I gave the chance and that is what happened “Never come Back” the Manager was not humble and he do not apologized or recognize they should have more fresh ingredients! That is the true! Sorry the flavor is good but something is WRONG!
I am Georgia!! And I love me some sushi. Dont hardly seem right but it is what it is. I blame my 4th,,no scratch that,, my 3rd wife. Just as I blame a woman for my smoking. I never smoked cigarette one till that faithful day when from out of the west rode a blonde haired blue eyed killer,,, no wait,, thats another story. Tonight I went to Kuroshios and I been having this back and forth war with myself about who has the best sushi. I kinda think it mostly depends on which one I happen to be eatin at right then. Tonight I didnt have sushi. I had the shrimp lovers salad. Somehow that dont seem right either. What is going on? Anywho,, the place was packed after the Braves game and we had a tiny wait to be seated. Then after we was seated had another wait to get some drinks. The service was overly apologetic and I blame that on them stick in the mud folks, Im human and told him so. I have worked plenty of service jobs and my hat goes off to them and I tip them accordingly. Everybody please keep in mind that folks count on them tips same as you would. This is a place I frequent and its always delicious and the service is always on point. Tonight was no exception.
Visiting the area and weve been craving sushi all week! This spot had friendly, fast service and really good sushi. The amount of special sushi rolls was a bit overwhelming but I wont complain about variety of choice!! Portions were large, sushi was delicious! Cant complain!
Kuroshio is the perfect mix of casual dining experience and high quality food. The attention to detail and the care they put into putting out great dishes, from sushi to fried rice, really shows in every level of your evening with them. The service is great and the sushi is ridiculously good! For people like me who are still testing the waters I definitely recommend the Scorpion Roll because it was to die forrrr. Shrimp, tempura soft shell crab and avocado all create the perfect bite of sushi. Definitely worth a visit!
Shrimp and Scallops with Fried Rice. Extra veggies. So good. Very generous with portion size. Came with Miso soup that I love and Ginger side salad. Scallops couldve been bigger but in this market large jumbo Scallops wouldve been way more than the 25 bucks I paid. Im pleased.
I love Sushi! This is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. The Cha-Cha-Cha is my favorite sushi roll. It has a delicious kick to it, and that’s how I like my stuff! The staff here is friendly and attentive, and the food never disappoints. Right across the street from the Atlanta Brave’s Battery, this place is perfect for anyone who loves good food.
We won’t be back, first time trying this place today. The menu is overwhelming! About 4 pages of sushi options.. We felt overwhelmed we ended up not even getting sushi. It took about 30 mins for our food to come and it didn’t come all together. The food was okay but nothing great.
Meh, average score for an average visit. Saw rave reviews on Google Maps and thought Id give it a try. Seemed like an average sushi bar to me. Service was okay, sushi was good, but presentation could have been better. All in all.. average at best. Restaurant was not spectacular, and could be a bit more tidy. 3 stars
Terrible service, they forgot 2 items the first time I went to pick up. When I went again to pick up the missing items they gave me the wrong noodles. Don’t understand how you can mess up the same order 2 times. Sushi was soggy and taste was mediocre. No attempt to makeup for their mistakes just a sorry, contact DoorDash.
Ordered two plates with extra chicken for the weekend. I got more carrots than chicken after being a loyal customer who orders several times last week. I made a note of it to uber delivery. Tonight, I ordered more rice. They over seasoned the rice which was never done before.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary and ate at the bar. The fish was fresh soft and yummy. I told the chef it was so good that it should be illegal! I will be back. UPDATE- 2nd visit required the same sushi chef(hes short, looks Hispanic). Do NOT order Ramen. The broth taste excellent but the noodles are not fresh, cheap and the pork was tough and over cooked- thought it was chicken. Ordered B52, replaced asperagus with avocado, good choice.
The Bagel Roll is the absolute best! Although the Bagel (aka Philly) Roll is my fav, we all know restaurants CAN destroy sushi... Kuroshio Sushi Bar did the complete opposite!!! Excellent food, great service, and a mellow atmosphere, makes Kuroshio the perfect spot for a few friends or a 1 on 1. 😉
I love this place. The salmon fried rice and cha cha cha rolls are amazing but when we stopped by last week we had chicken fried rice off the lunch menu. We also enjoyed the Kuroshio egg rolls, scorpion rolls, and the Tokyo pork ramen soup (which is big enough to share) everything was perfect.
Great food and friendly staff. Some of my favorites are the fried rice (good with any meat) and cha cha cha roll. The sashimi is great and really fresh.I originally tried this place because this random dude raved about the fried rice. So thanks random dude. You were correct and I have been back a few times since.
Unfortunately this place was very sub-par. Spring rolls were really not that great. Fried rice wasnt bad, just had a lot of sauce. I had some california rolls, idk why but they were quite warm, it ruined it for me, that and the rice layer on the outside was extremely thick. Just an overall no go sadly.
This is my first time eating sushi and my friend’s recommended Kuroshio. I ordered the ChaChaCha and it’s so freaking good. My daughters and I will be coming for a girls nights. The restaurant is really nice and clean, good customer service and plenty of parking. You all definitely need to check them out.
Very good service with not so good food. We ordered the $75 honokana bridge set and were not impressed. The whole set had only 4 kinds of fish which is very limited. The sashimi was cut into huge cubes instead of thick slices. The two rolls(one with shrimp topping and the other was salmon and tuna), both contained only avocado and intimate crab sticks felt short. The quality of the fish was a big MEH - below average to mediocre. Nothing was special about this sushi set and I would rather spend it at another sushi bar. There specialty rolls looked good on the menu though. May come back to try that but definitely not ordering anything raw from here again.
I’ve been to this place twice and it’s become one of my favorite places to go. Period. The food has been good both times. The portions are more than generous and you’re almost guaranteed to have a take home container by the end of it. My only complaint is how far it is from me lol. Totally worth the drive though!
I eat here just about every Sunday after tabletop games with friends. The customer service is outstanding, my car broke down one time while I was there and they let me stay until I got picked up. The staff was so nice and courteous while I waited. Also the sushi is BOMB and I highly recommend any of their specialty rolls.
Sorry, but this was a disappointing place. Maybe I set my expectations too high, but I consider Japanese a specialty food that requires care and finesse. The pork katsu was ok, but still subpar. The breading had a nice crunch, but the meat inside was dry. It came with a thousand island dressing (why?) and dark dipping sauce that was too intense for a katsu dish. The rice was also dry.We also had a dish of rainbow rolls, but the freshness of the fish was questionable. One good part of the meal was the miso soup. Good balance in taste and a great appetizer. My suggestion when looking for a Japanese place to eat would be to be knowledgeable in the freshness of the fish, because that will make all the difference. If the fish is very fresh and the place can pull off a great and simple sushi, it reflects their dedication to quality in everything else.
I’ve only had the B-52 sushi , but it was SO good. staff is friendly but the location is a little sketch. i went out to eat on my own one time and some weirdo came to my car window as i was trying to leave and was pressuring me to give him my number and even with constant refusal he starting being creepy for instance he said , “i can be your friend”. heck no. anyways, just watch your surroundings and enjoy the food. it’s so yummy
We chose to go here as a random pick and the only thing I was happy with was the lemon water and the pork steamed dumplings. I ordered the scorpion roll, the B-52 roll, and the lion King roll. As all the other reviews have stated the sushi wasn’t really anything special. The B-52 was the one I like the most but ultimately was a winner on the losing team. The service was all right, our server was friendly, and the dining experience was pleasant aside for the wait for the sushi rolls. I’m not sure if over 30 minutes is the average for hand roll sushi but I’m no expert. High prices and sub-par sushi do not mix in my opinion choose some thing else. The rice on the other hand was delicious.
Food was pretty good, the chicken in my teriyaki chicken was dry & the steak was over cooked. But aside from that service was great, very large selection of rolls and rice options to chose from. I had the volcano roll and it was Amazinggggg, my son had the scorpion roll huge shrimp roll. the fried rice options on back are huge also large portions ! Will be coming back for sure. Fed our family of four, including app and extras total came out to $110 but you could easily spend less if you don’t over order like we did, was not expecting so much food when it all came out lol.
Went there today. Reviews seemed pleasing however the sushi was definitely sub par. Nothing better than grocery store quality at a premium price. I ordered the volcano roll and it came covered in warm dog food. I don’t know why they decided it would be wise to microwave canned tuna and mix it with gravy. On a pleasant note, the egg rolls were quite delicious.
I will say im not the biggest fan of Sushi but i must say that Kuroshio Sushi Bar was excellent. I ordered 3 different rolls; the Spicy Salmon, Spicy Tuna and the Cajun Crawfish which were all good choices with the Spicy Salmon being my favorite. I will definitely be back to further my sushi palate. The place was also packed, with orders flying out the door which is always a good thing. The prices were also fair not hard on the wallet.
Food - okayService - could be betterPrice - NOT WORTH IT.This review is for dine-in. This will absolutely be my last time dining or ordering here.It took us *50 minutes* to get our food and it was JUST OKAY. Nothing special. I got 3 different rolls that all tasted the same.Mostly annoyed about the amount of time wasted here. Tables all around us were getting their food in a reasonable amount of time. Our waiter had to the nerve to blame it on the amount of take-out orders, but I could clearly see him sitting in the back booth with friends in between waiting tables.I’m pretty sure he just forgot to put our orders in and that’s real reason it took so long. 🙄
I love this place, and have been coming here for years. They changed out the lighting a couple of years ago to this ultra white bulb color and it instantly changed the ambiance, the food doesnt look as good as it could and the atmosphere seems less comfortable.. I think it bothered people, it wasnt as busy after that.. Please change back to the soft lighting :)
I picked this place because it was nearby and the reviews seemed good enough. After walking in we had to wait a bit before someone came to seat us. I found our server to be very nice and polite. The food was...food. Nothing to really write home about, but if you want some quick Japanese itll do. My issues come with what seems to be cutting corners. The dinnerware didnt match. I dont mean that there was a variety in dishes. I mean they came from all sorts of different sets made from different materials and had different designs. It very much so felt cheap. The plastic cutlery was the icing. I understand theres a pandemic going on but the cups werent disposable so it seems unreasonable to not simply give the customers some sort of flatware that can be properly cleaned considering that the cost of the food isnt cheap.
Very clean restaurant with good, attentive service and good prices for the portions. Ordered Vegetable Fried Rice with extra vegetables and Garlic Ponzu. Very good flavor, but let me just say that the location in Kennesaw seems to have a nuttier flavor to the rice with a bit more fresh minced garlic in the Ponzu. Not a complaint. This was delicious, just different from what I was accustomed to. The Kangen Water is refreshing and free. Great place.
THIS REVIEW IS FOR TERRIBLE SERVICE, I have had their food before and it has been really good. However, your customer service is very much apart of your business.Just got done ordering from Kuroshio, Cumberland Mall area, which took 10+ tries to get ahold of someone. I finally did and placed my order, person on the phone was being very abrupt with me. At the end he said it could take up to an hour and before I could ask for a more specific time I was hung up on.I called back, again took several times to get a hold of someone, and again asked for a more specific time. He said we are busy so it could take an hour, that Is fine but can I get a little note of a specific time, that could be 20 minutes or 45 minutes. He immediately got rude and said kept saying I’m not sure what to tell you very loud and abruptly. I asked him not to yell at me and I could hear him in the background saying “ oh my god”. After being talked to like that and calling over 25+ times I just decided to cancel my order.
I just ordered from here through Uber eats. When my order arrived the udon soup had spilled all over the inside of the bag. Completely inedible. When I called the restaurant they told me is wasn’t their problem and I needed to contact Uber Eats.On top of that, the food itself is a disgrace to Japanese food. The slimy, nasty tuna I received on my rice bowl cannot be anywhere near sushi grade. If I was in any restaurant, I would send it back.My whole order is going into the trash.I really don’t care if it was the best food I ever had, I will never being doing business here again. If you don’t care about customer service this might be a great fit for you, but if you want to be taken care of I suggest you go elsewhere.
I love this place. I’ve eaten in and ordered food through DoorDash multiple times. I’ve never had an issue with missing items when I ordered take-out, and the staff is always friendly when I dine-in. The food is phenomenal and the portions are a generous size, so I always have leftovers. I will definitely continue to order from here!
I would have gladly given them 5 stars IF a waiter (he was not mine) had not reached across my food AND knocked over the soy sauce while switching it out AND did not even speak THEN justified not speaking by saying Remember I spoke to at the door... The soy sauce literally spilled EVERY WHERE including all over the table AND my phone. He half cleaned it up AND had an attitude. When I shared with my waitress what had happened AND that there was soy sauce on my table she cleaned it up, apologized on his behalf and asked if I was okay. When I got the check it was still for the full amount. I did not ask for a discount however felt a 10% discount was in order or more. So I paid my bill and called the manager from my car. I was then told he could not come to the phone because he was in the kitchen cooking rice. 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️Smh. I liked this spot. I have been there over a dozen times since 2018 however IF this is the way they conduct themselves I will gratefully take my business somewhere else. COVID or no COVID so things are just common courtesy and business basics.
Ok restaurant. I’ve online ordered from door dash, called, picked up and dined this restaurant. They forgot an item and they didn’t give me a credit or apologize and said I had to pay for another. I like the fried soft crab and salad with the ginger dressing. That’s why I order from here. But everything else is average at best.
I order from Kuroshio Smyrna often for takeout, as it is close to my home and has multiple sushi options. I cannot order any of their hot meals, as they use MSG and Im allergic. There is one roll that I really love (Cha Cha Cha), but the one thing with which I have never been happy is their inconsistency. The size of the roll, cook, quantity of the shrimp, inclusion of the sauces on the roll, salt level, and even packaging is never the same. Sometimes its absolutely delicious and sometimes it less so (the last time I got it, it was so overcooked the shrimp were like leather and completely inedible). One thing you hope for is consistency in a restaurants product, and even though it has been a go-to place for me (despite its prices), I am not happy with the inconsistency. Keep hoping it will get better, but it hasnt (regrettably).
Let me start by saying that the food is amazing... even when they mess up, but my problem with them is the customer experience. I’ve been dining at Kurushio for about 3 years and I pretty much order the same thing every time and every time, I pay something different. Ownership changed about a little over a year ago (maybe longer), and they have become the most penny pinchers I’ve ever seen. They charge for EVERY SINGLE THING, and I probably wouldn’t have as much of an issue if they were consistent. That is very frustrating for a long time customer and I think they may have lost me tonight. It’s not about the money at all because the food is good... but it feels like some people try to get over and THAT is what I can’t appreciate.
Over the last couple decades with the Americanization of all the sushi rolls this place is no different.Nothing particularly wrong here just common Americanized sushi.Half of them are deep fried or got cream cheese in them, Im waiting for them to start covering them in chocolate.Getting hard to find good sushi.
Me and the wife came in for dinner. We got the fried pork gyoza. These are by far some of the best fried gyoza Ive ever had. I want to go back and order 3 rounds of these just for my meal.We got the ebi crunch and crash roll. Super good. We will go back again before outlet trip is over.We will come back the next time we are in ATL.
Excellent everytime. The only thing Ive had here that I didnt like was the chicken fried rice. Ive loved every sushi roll and their soups have the most excellent flavor you could hope for. Service is generally pretty quick and the staff are friendly. Odd that they are a sports bar type of establishment, but decent prices and best sushi Ive found in Georgia so far. I wouldnt go anywhere else.
I have been a customer of Kuroshio for years. They have the best fried rice I have ever had, I add their seafood sauce to my rice and it is perfection. I also love their crazy roll and double decker tuna roll. Their ingredients are always noticeably fresh. They also have orders for pick up which is very convenient for food on the go!
At the first moment you arrive in this restaurant the personel give you a nice feeling. Very friendly stuff, it is a friendly place to go out with friends or with your date. delicious food, talented chief cook and stuff, reasonable cost and generous service. Highly recommended.
This is the fam’s new go to close-to-home sushi place. The seating can be crunched, but the food is worth it. We been twice and so far, the amount of sushi you get is well worth the price! The atmosphere is not fancy, but they do have sports on their large flat screens. Service is wonderful and everyone is accommodating to allergies! Which that last point is HUGE for us! Enjoy your sushi and make it a great day!
The sushi and service were awesome, the fried Calamari was great too. The Japanese dinners were good but on the sweet side, and to say they use a lot of carrot shaving is an understatement lol. The miso soup wasnt that good, the vegetables and fried rice with the dinner was undercooked. Using brown rice and mixing egg and vegetables does not make it fried rice. Again the Sushi is awesome as was the service
LOVE this place! I have never had a bad meal here. I usually alternate between the Veggie Fried Rice and the Salmon Ride, both amazing. Also, I always accompany that with a Salmon Tempura Roll or Zucchini Tempura Roll with Eel Sauce. I keep it pretty simple. Ive only been inside once for take-out, it was around lunch time so it took about 20mins to get my order. But I always order on DoorDash and my food always arrives hot, fresh off of the grill! Japanese cuisine is my all time favorite and Cobb is so lucky to have this place ❤️
I have eaten in once last year and taken out @ 6 times since then.I wish I could remember the gentlemans name who was my server. He was happy, personable and eager to serve. Take out staff is efficient too. This restaurant is known for its large menu but many I know come for Sushi. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the sushi because I dont eat it.I have had the tempura, the fried rice and the teriyaki dinners..all are good. The dinners come with a soup and a salad. Take out is packaged nicely so that the cold stay cold and the hot, hot. There is a small fee added to take out. Tip: call in your takeout order. Sometimes there are people waiting. That way you can get in and out quicker.
This place is awesome. I went to dinner around 7 and there was no wait. The atmosphere is nice, the menu is extensive if you like sushi, and the customer service was great. I enjoy my dinner however, the chicken in my dish was a tough to chew. I think if the pieces were smaller it wouldnt be so hard to chew. Other than that I enjoyed3this restaurant.
Kuroshio is a favorite spot and is near the Braves stadium. The mgr is there all the time and is awesome and his brother makes the best sushi. If you are lucky enough to get Amy or Scott to wait on you... they are the BEST! Like Cheers they always remembered my name since my first visit. They always make me feel at home and anticipate my every need. Because the food is so great and the people are the best... me and my friends go every week! The sushi is top notch... I have never had a sushi roll or sashimi that was not amazing! My son loves the chicken fried rice... his favorite and he says they have the best around! I cannot say enough good things about Kuroshio. It is one of my go-to places! Two thumbs up! Five Stars!
We attended a function @ Cobb Galleria & with sushi options being slim to none in north Georgia, we had to get a sushi fix while in the big city. A quick look on Yelp & Kuroshio stood out based on reviews, so off we went. Boy are we glad we made that decision! To start, the place is airy & pretty large for a sushi restaurant. Next, the greeter was the nicest guy that made us feel very welcome. After getting a seat at the sushi bar, our personality plus waiter brought menus. We ordered Nigiri, which you can order by the piece instead of two pieces that allows you to try new stuff without having to commit too deeply. The quality of the sushi was as good as weve tasted. Fresh, but not right out of the ocean so the fish had an opportunity to find its taste. The roll selection was exceptional & we enjoyed several. Best of all the prices were quite good. Overall, our experience was great & we will for sure be back again for another sushi fix!
I have been to Kuroshios many times and their meals are absolutely delicious. However I have to give them a 1 star rating for my experience. I have never done dine in orders here since covid I have done take out orders, however the difference today was i noticed on my receipt which is attached a to go fee...I questioned the charge and was told that it was for the utensils and plastic items. First thing that came to my mind is do you charge the people who dine in to use forks knives and chop sticks...anyway i got home opened the bag and there were no utensils in the bag...Yes i have my own utensils at home however this was blatant price gouging and for me this is unacceptable so 1 star for you guys. Ill probably still be back but best believe i will not be paying another to go fee...
Our family ordered from Kuroshio from Uber Eats and our food quality was so bad that we had to throw it all away in the trash. Having read the other google reviews, we thought the food would be better than what we received, but our food was so bad we couldnt eat it. The tempura was awful (soft and sticky, looking like beer batter fish), and the seafood was dry and old. The only thing editable was the edamame, which was cold.
Ive been here about 5 times now and I love their sushi. Yes there are 100 rolls to choose from, but I try to get a different one every time. Its always great tasting and I like the portion size. Atmosphere and service is good too. This is one of my favorite sushi places!
Since moving to Atlanta I’ve craved quality Japanese and hibachi. This missed the mark. We ordered pickup due to the ongoing pandemic. The teriyaki dinners were soggy, almost overtaken with juices from vegetables, with hardly any teriyaki to taste. The shrimp was not deveined. My child’s tempura side was cool and limp. We had to use our own condiments to jazz up the meal. The sushi missed the mark as well. The fried Cali roll and Mer Man sounded promising, but left little impression upon the taste buds. The food is overpriced and lackluster.
We arrived a little after 7 on a Friday night, and we waited less than 3 minutes to be seated, even though the place was packed. It seemed that each party who came in was seated quickly, and thats remarkable for such a busy place during peak hours. The chefs were able to make our sushi rolls to order, omitting ingredients that we have allergies to, and every item was still fantastic. We got the Earth Mover and an appetizer of soft shell crab, and needless to say, we were stuffed! Our waitress was super helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this place.
BEST SUSHI AROUND!!!! I absolutely love going to Kuroshio, and every sushi place in the county pales by comparison. They have a wide variety of rolls and dishes available, and everything that I have eaten here is delicious!! I would 110% recommend this to anyone looking for a place to eat in the area- it is one of my FAVORITES! There are lots of booths available as well as seating for larger parties. They are kid friendly, and always very nice to my daughter when we bring her in with us. The food, service, and prices are all good making for a wonderful experience overall!
Best sushi restaurant that Ive ever been to. Ive tried many others and nothing compares. Their fish is always fresh and with so many options, great service, great prices with great portions. A lot of sushi restaurants give you tiny rolls for the same price and you leave still hungry, but that never happens at Kuroshio in Smyrna. They also have some of the best fried rice, no sauces needed because its so good just as is.
So my fiancee and I came here in search of Inari and we did find it. The sushi here is awesome, its definitely the reason to come here. I did make the mistake of ordering a soup, but our waiter, Juan, was really attentive and did take it back and switch it for a sushi roll. Great customer service, great sushi. Definitely coming again.
Kuroshio is my favorite sushi spot in the Atlanta area. I have literally had just about everything on their menu. The food & the service is amazing. The owners are always kind. Scott has been my server several times & hes exceptional! Hes very attentive & polite - so ask for him when you go. Love this place!
I have been to this location at Least 20 times, and I have yet to find a better sushi spot. Their chicken for the chicken fried rice is dry, but the rice itself is some of the best Ive ever had. The sushi is amazing, from the B-52 to the Lovely and Tabitha rolls, and they have more options with cream cheese than any other place that I have been to. Even the sauces are terrific, I wish I could buy it by the bottle! Friendly staff, even during peak times. Highly recommended.
I came by for lunch last week and it was my first time here. Gosh was I so overwhelmed by the menu, so many choices to choose from. And do not get me started about the food and for the price too! I ordered the chachacha roll as our server Amy recommended. Excellent taste and service, she was so attentive even on a busy day. Most definitely will come back for more.
Very delicious specialty sushi rolls with very many choices! The Jazz roll is my favorite, its pure, creamy deliciousness. There is also a great selection of teriyaki dinner plates and a number of more exotic Japanese selections. The sake is good and theres a decent selection of adult beverages. Ive never had bad service and everyone is always friendly.
So, the sushi is what youd expect from a sushi joint. They have some specialty rolls that my coworkers like, the Scorpion Roll being one. Their Fried Sweet Potato things are decent. The Ramen I would say is average. Overall a pleasant experience every time. Get there before 1130, youve been warned.
Best Sushi presentation Ive ever seen..... Im not a huge sushi eater but I promise the presentation is amazing. Theres sushi boats and all. But I do love and I repeat love their fried rice and bacon wrapped scallops.... oh and dont forget to ask for the alkaline water, you can even bring in your own containers and have them filled.
A really great experience. The server was super attentive, and was so on top of things that our food never even sat in the window and was handed directly to him. My girlfriend and I had a bunch of sushi: the bagel roll, la Rhonda roll, crazy roll, and a classic California roll. They were all delicious, and the portions were generous. The pricing on their non-specialty rolls is a steal, and the specialty rolls are certainly worth your dollar.
Good sushi for a decent price! Service was good as well. Weve been to our fair share of sushi restaurants around Smynra and this is definitely one of the better ones. We didnt get any of the standard Japanese fare so cant attest to the teriyaki. There were a fair amount of patrons which is always a good sign. We would definitely go back.
We came here totally by chance. We were headed to a concert at The Roxy and searched for sushi near Coca Cola Roxy. Kuroshio had great reviews and their menu looked wonderful so we landed here before the show. SUPERB service by Amy, perfectly presented sushi by the chefs and HIGH, HIGH quality fish. The tuna sashimi melted in your mouth. We spoke with Marvin, the shift manager to compliment our server Amy and the food. He was equally as professional and affable as Amy. For us this was a five star restaurant experience at four star prices. I only wish we didnt live 2 hours away but whenever were anywhere near the ATL well be dining at Kuroshio again! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Visited on a Monday around 5:45 PM and we were seated right away. The place looks pretty nice and has a fun atmosphere. The menu provides a wide selection of sushi lots of rolls and other goodies. The food tasted fresh, the service was efficient and pleasant.Plenty of parking at no cost.Would check this place out again.
Very rude. The lady I spoke with to try to place my order had a problem and basically stated that I needed to be there already to place the order. Called back again and the guy had no problem taking my order. I went home and passed the food out and asked about a certain dish that I had ordered and the lady again had an attitude explaining how they packaged it. This was my first time eating here and I will not be coming back.
We come here every week (Monday or Tuesdays) for lunch and the food is great. Even a few of the staff knows who we are and memorized our usual meal. The atmosphere is great as well and the timeliness of our food arriving to our table is exceptional. I recommend this place to anyone who is a sushi fanatic or just want to try it.
Ordered a poke bowl w/ salmon and spicy tuna hand roll. First off, salmon and tuna was slimy and covered in milky white stuff... I am not squimish with raw fish, but wow I could barely eat this... extremely slimy and wasnt fresh at all. One of the salmon chunks also had a huge bone in it.On the bright side, the service is really good and waiters are nice. But the sushi is some of the worst I have ever had.
I always really enjoy this restaurant. Good choices for food and drink abound, though I recommend the hot wok shrimp appetizer if youve got a group. Avocado, chilli, garlic, and fresh chopped onions on shrimp. The fish here always seems really fresh, and the staff are prompt and courteous. Its usually pretty busy on weekend nights, so give some extra time to get a table.
This used to be my favorite sushi spot but recently has gone downhill with inconsistent recipes. My favorite used to be the cha cha roll. It usually has a moderate spice to it. I ordered it on 12/31 it was so spicy I couldn’t eat it. My husband who loves spicy food even said it was too spicy. I like a moderate amount of spice but this was on fire. With an inconsistency in spice I don’t know if I can order it again. Wish they’d keep a consistent recipe either mild, med or hot but keep it the same! Also the funky roll isn’t what it used to be. Just doesn’t seem as fresh. I used to order the shrimp hibachi and now they use smaller and less shrimp. The calamari used to melt in the mouth with large pieces but now are smaller and chewy. I can say warm plum house saki is really good. The restroom was a mess. The paper towel dispenser didn’t even work. We also noticed the health dept score went down to an 81. For a sushi spot I expect an A rating. I hope they can work on fresher food and their recipe consistency and cleanliness so we can start going back.
Overall experience was great.I gave 4 stars because the las three pieces of the scorpion roll that I ordered were not edible. The shrimp that comes within still had the hard shell.Besides that, service was great and the roll was good (except the last three pieces) and price was good.
Restaurant takes way too long to give you a Togo order. I’ve waited almost 2 hours for my phone. Called an hour earlier. No one could tell me the ETA on when the food would be ready. Over the phone the guy told me 30min. They really need to be more time efficient. I will not being going back. By the time I received the food I didn’t even want it anymore
The food was good but plan ahead because it takes really long to be served. They have free Alkaline water which is very good for health, the specialty rolls seem expensive, $10-15 for a roll BUT the classic rolls are a good deal, say a California roll or tempura salmon for only $3 but our waitress, a Chinese woman around her 50s wasnt a good experience. She was very polite and helpful during our stay but when we went to pay, we had 3 separate bills and she swapped the cards on two of them and they were all $15-18 and we left $2 tip on 2 of them and one of us put $0 because of the swapping and she got very angry and started ranting and to criticize us and behave very unprofessional. Im personally not coming back to this place. If I did it would only be for the cheap classic rolls of $3 and $4. They serve plenty of wasabi on each plate, so much Im taking some home with me because its a good quality wasabi, highly concentrated.
I tried this place based on a recommendation and based on some of the reviews on Google. I will say the restaurant looks clean and modern, and the service was fantastic! But like a few others that have reviewed, I will agree and say the rolls are way too big to eat and sloppy, you feel like you are stuffing you face on one bite. I prefer smaller sized sushi rolls. I will say the chicken and shrimp fried rice are fantastic!! The eggrolls are nice and crispy too. Overall I probably would not come back here again, my favorite authentic sushi spot is Maru Sushi in Smyrna. 🍥🍤🍣🍱
The waitstaff are either horrible or they have bad management as no one seems happy to be there. Food is good though. Watch out for the ginger salad dressing...mine was gritty like sand and the waitress either didnt understand, didnt believe me or just didnt care because she still charged me. Wont risk that again. I can still feel the gritty sand when I think of it which stinks because I love ginger dressing. 😰
I used to love kuroshio but I’m definitely not coming back to Smyrna location after 2 years eating there/ordering online almost every week.I eat slow and I think it was bothering the server Amy. I felt pressured to leave my table and her frustration was visible when I ordered my dessert. She tried to convince me to get ice cream in somewhere else. I regret of leaving any tip for her. If you want to have a better experience, try Kuroshio in Kennesaw, the staff is friendly and definitely more polite.
What can I say about this place. Customer service is on point and the food is always good. We always get their shrimp fried rice, New York roll, Big Daddy roll, Cha Cha Cha roll and Mega Crunch....Soooooo good. Get the Unagi sauce on the side....dipping your roll in it takes it to the next level!
My sister and I were looking for a good place to eat at and we decided to try something new and came here... This was the best decision I ever made. I am in love with their food. My first bite was everything. I never had a sushi roll fried to perfection like theirs. I recommend the cha cha cha roll. Omgggg its so good 😭😭the takoyaki was delightful. Everything was scrumptious. I will be back every weekend.
2.19.21 update. Had the best server. Fernando. He was so attentive and made my experience great. ThanksThey are open for dining in yall! Thank you for opening up. I have been so tired of being in my house and it was nice to get out. Food was great (always is). Staff were working hard and friendly. Thank you thank you.
Ive never actually been here, only had takeout but its SO good!!! The spicy yaki udon noodles are my absolute favorite. Great flavor in the sauce l, crunchy vegetables cooked just the right amount and those large squishyudon noodles. My husband gets the sushi and loves it. Also have great rice dishes and soup! Its all fabulous
Loved it. 💙 I went today for the first time. It was delicious. The calamari was ok but everything else was a go! We ordered two different types of sushi. The scorpion 🦂 and the cha-cha-cha 🍣 . I also had shrimp fried rice 🍛 and hubby had the grilled shrimp 🦐 with scallops. It was a lot of food. It was extremely good. We were able to get a set after waiting just a few minutes for the server to go get some change for another customer. They have a medium sized bar area and the place it’s huge so it’s kinda comfy. Food came out pretty quick. Service was average. Will be going to eat here again. 😋
We ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen spicy, with no zucchini and 2 sushi rolls togo. The container it was packed in had a HUGE crack in it which caused the ramen liquid to spill out. Both had zucchini, but the ramen container that was still in tack didnt taste like regular Tonkatsu, it taste like it was watered down with minimum spice. The sushi had more cream cheese and roe than anything. The only good experience we had about this establishment was the server.Overall I will not be eating here again
Soooo darn good! I’m mad at my self for not coming to this place long ago! I ordered the crispy salmon roll and introduced it to my mom. We are now officially hooked from this point forward! No kidding this place has awesome food and I love the friendliness and location. This place is on favorite restaurant list.
I loved the food here. We are here all the time. But we have noticed a few things within the last two months, the mushrooms were not cooked so good, and today, we found hair in our food. It was disgusting and we were VERY disappointed. That’s why I gave them a 1 Star.
Sushi thats good when you need a fix. If they are slightly busy it might take a while to get your order. And it seems like simple things are often forgotten when your plate is prepared. Not a huge issue to ask, but also silly when it should already be on the plate ready to eat.
While I love Kuroshios food, the service has gone downhill while the prices have gone up. We often order online and the past 2 times weve gone in for pickup, weve been ignored. I understand being busy but at least acknowledge that youll be right with me... and if my food with raw sushi in it is sitting on the counter already then make time so I dont have to stare at it getting cold for 15 minutes. They also charge $1 for a small cup of sauce.
SPORTS BAR SUSHI! But dont judge a book by its cover. Hidden among the TVs and t-shirts is a really good menu and even better food. A vast selection that ranges from the usual sushi fare to house specialties, theres something for everyone and its always been delicious. A bit too bright and a little too loud at times (it is a sports bar after all) and an uneven service staff is the only thing that keeps this from being a five star review. HINT: Check them out a bit earlier in the evening to avoid the wait and enjoy a fresher selection of food.
Japanese Sushi sports bar with diverse menu. I rarely give 5 stars, but I keep coming back and always have a great meal and great service at a great price. Choose sushi, sashimi, Japanese dinners, salads, or grilled favorites. My favorite is the grilled Shrimp and Scallop dinner - find yours!
The crispy egg rolls were amazing. The service was exceedingly slow. Food took forever to come out of the kitchen and our server checked on our progress 2 times in 2 hours. The sushi rolls were not that good and definitely not worth the wait. I would not recommend this place.
Well I would start by saying check the receipt. I noticed that I was being charge a Togo fee and when asked if I was dining in would I be charged a fee, the answer would be “No”. Then told, as if I had stolen something, “...and it can’t be changed now! The fee is because of the pandemic!” So you mean to tell me that because the country shut down, your customer that may have been out of work has to pay extra to take the food out. When if I would have sat down to eat you would have had to still serve me with either plates and or disposable items however because you place the items in bag, that I am sure cost you let’s than $0.05, I need to pay $0.75! Well I think 🤔 not! Now to add insult to injury you also attempt to charge me tax on this fee! Ok enough is enough but then it gets better! The young make at the counter that stands at about 5’4” when asked to speak to a manager tells me that the manager is too busy to help me. I had to walk to the back of the restaurant to even speak to the manager. When I addressed the issue the manger tells me this is just the way they do it. And then offers me a refund after slamming my receipt on the table! Maybe it’s ok for people to steal pennies from you however it is not ok for them to do it to me nor the people that are keeping them in business.
Ive been a regular at Kuroshio since they first opened back in the early 2000s. For great service, solid food, and a good atmosphere you really cant go wrong with this place. Each time I stop by for dinner with some pals its a pleasant reminder of sushi done right. A+

2022-04-12Fantastic fresh sushi at an affordable price. The setting is a little dated and the tables are a little worn, but the place is packed and the service is good. Great spot to eat sushi with friends.

2022-02-18Let’s be clear. I’m an avid Uber Eater. But I’m usually sketchy about ordering sushi from there so I played it safe. I ordered a Scorpion Roll. Which if I had to describe it I would say it’s really just shrimp tempura..but that’s just me.It’s 16 pieces of basic-ness…BUT delicious none the less. They followed my order notes perfectly (thanks!) the Eel sauce is good, they include one so unless you’re a saucy girl like me, no need to get another for a dollar!I’d totally order again, next time in person because anything that’s good on Uber Eats has to be better in person…right?!

2022-02-06Ordered through DoorDash. None of the specialty sushi rolls had any sauce on the despite stating they did in the description. Beef fried rice and very little rice and 2 medium length stands of hair in it ( noticed it after I already took a couple bites). so upset
