The best experience I have ever had touring an apartment complex! Katrina was knowledgeable and relatable! She knew all the best restaurants and local bars (two things important in my search). I ultimately decided to rent a home But if you get the opportunity to work with her, you won’t regret it!
I moved into the apartment in July and they finally decided they were going to give us a walkthrough in September after we already moved our stuff in. The apartment wasn’t cleaned before we moved in and management randomly switched our unit without letting us know . Every member of the leasing office is asinine and insensitive. They fail to take accountability and constantly blame problems on tenants. Member of the leasing office tried to tell me she could see when I “opened” the email sent by the leasing office that I never received then tried to accuse me of stealing my roommates parking decal. Sherry is the most useless person I have ever encountered, sits in leasing office from 9am-5pm doing absolutely nothing and catches attitude when she finally has to help someone who pays rent to live here .
Wife and I have been looking around for a place for a few weeks now. The Entire Staff at Milstead were friendly and welcoming. The leasing agent who helped us out, I believer her name was Katrina, was extremely thorough and answered all our questions with a smile. Really liking the vibe!
A more than serviceable little apartment complex for myself and my roommate. Maybe the one problem Id have is that there isnt a ton of parking if youre coming home late, but other than that I never had any major problems here. The maintenance guys always showed up in a timely manner, the front office never gave us any trouble, our apartment never had a bug problem (probably because we actually know how to clean up after ourselves 👀), I always liked how it was right next to the highway...it was a good year spent there. It only was a year because of the price spike, which is one part our own budget concerns and another part a criticism towards the MAA higher ups. Milstead is...good, but I wouldnt say it was GREAT, at least not enough to justify picking them over other nearby places thatd probably give you more bang for your buck once you started comparing asking prices. At least in my opinion, Id still recommend touring the place to judge for yourself, because again I do have overall positive feedback for this complex. If money isnt an issue for you and you want a pretty sweet spot in Kennesaw to be in, then you could do a lot worse. 4/5 stars.
They are nice when you move in, however, it stops once youve gotten your keys. During COVID, other properties in the area were really reaching out and helping their residents and providing them with as much as assistance and information as they could and also provided list of agencies/referrals to help anyone in need. This property does not do that. My friends in the area were amazed when I shared this property lacks that humanism. They dont just readily provide any assistance for anyone. They have no type of concern or care for humankind, so if you ever find yourself in a bind, they are not willing to assist. The property is far from luxury or professional. And there are many things wrong with this complex and I warn you to NOT move here. The people in the apartments do not clean up after their pets nor do many of them put a leash on their pet. All breeds are welcome so dont be surprised if a HUGE dog with no leash runs up on you as this happened to me three times! This was communicated MULTIPLE times and the individual who owned the pet still resided here. Some of their decisions I feel are racially motivated. The Property Manager Erica is one of the worst in the business. The corporate office is not going to respond back to you if you have a complaint, DO NOT MOVE HERE!! RUNNN!!! I REGRET THIS MOVE SOOOO MUCH!!
I lived here for 2 years and it was mostly fine until move out. We did a move out inspection to make sure there’s no problem areas and one of the staff members said our apartment was one of the best kept ones she’s seen. Then once we officially move out they charge me 400 dollars for “miscellaneous damages”. I called the office and asked what was wrong and she was like oops I guess I didn’t see these damages. 400 dollars of damages is Kind of a LOT to not see but ok. Just extremely poor communication and money hungry managementAlso side note, this place is infested with cockroaches
Sherree the complex manager is great. She is very patient and accommodating. Through my home buying process she was patient and eager to help in whatever way she could. She provided me with everything I needed and also took the extra time to explain things and situations that I didn’t understand. She is amazing!
My stay here at MAA has been phenomenal I have really enjoyed living here everyone is so friendly nice helpful if I need anything all I Gotta do is just call them they fix whatever is needed Johnny on the spot no long time wait they have been a blessing to me Ihave been very happy here The complex is always peaceful and quiet and most of all clean and it’s lit up at nightI pray whoever comes here to live my prayer is they have a smooth and pleasant Transitioning journey here like I did!!Love it here!!
I moved in around 2 and a half years ago and the only reason Im moving is because we need a house. In my experience Milstead has been nothing but helpful. When something needed fixing, maintenance was there within hours to fix it. The property is clean and well maintained. If youre looking for a great complex thats in a great location, I would highly recommend Milstead.
I really love living in my new place, because it is so quiet and peaceful. The community is always clean and most importantly the gate is always closed. It was important for me to move into a gated community, because it is one way of feeling safe and secure. Management is amazing especially my favorite Ms. Sherree Crowell. I love her so much and you all will to.
I’ve lived on the property for 3 years now. I love my apartment! The maintanence staff has always been extremely responsive and professional. My maintanence requests are answered within 24 hours. During the Covid-19 situation they have always entered my home with masks. The company does a wonderful of yearly maintaining the property. Pressure washing the patio and breezeways annually. I’ve never had any apartment complex maintain the facility so well. The garbage receptacle is always in working order and clean. The gate works. All the time. The gym is in working order and well equipped.Location! Location! Location!Even though we are close to KSU, the complex has a great diverse mix of residents.
I just recently moved from Millstead after being there for two in a half years. I can honestly say it was a pleasant experience. The staff was always nice Erin & Jessica. Also the maintenance crew did amazing fixing problems and keep the landscaping up. I moved from Millstead because I wanted a change of scenery but I’m definitely missing my old residence.
I would recommend staying as far away from this place as possible. The place is infested with rats. Although management is nice, the rat problem was never fixed. They act like theyve never heard of rats in their complex before, but surely its not a new thing considering they have huge rat traps around the building (which have been there way before the rats started coming into my apartment). I also found an old dusty rat trap behind our water heater. I came home from vacation with a dead rat in my toilet, and woke up the next morning with two living rats standing on my counter. Rat faces all over my apartment, including on top of my bed. Our apartment was kept extremely clean, so cleanliness was not the reason they were coming in. The rats found any hole to come in, which included one that was behind our dishwasher. After management patched all of the holes, the rats never left the walls. We could hear the rats running around our ceiling and fighting. After the rats our next visitors were the massive bluebottle flies which we assumed were coming through our air vents and feeding on the dead rats in the walls. Needless to stay, they were well fed. I attempted to contact corporate, but never received a call back from them. The place is a huge health hazard and needs to be condemned. We had plenty of other problems with our apartment but the rats were at the top of list. They have pest control, but they dont really deal with rats. The most that pest control did was put a poison packet in our apartment to kill the rats. I wouldnt recommend taking your chance with this place. HUGE waste of money.
Based on the reviews, no one would ever move in here. I have lived here for almost a year (May) and have had very few problems. I live in a renovated apartment, so it is possible that the bug/rodent problems are an issue for the older buildings. However, if you stay in the newer sections you will not have an issue. The new management is wonderful and helpful. Our apartment has seen a few bugs, but we leave our deck door open often so that is to be expected. Maintenance is fast responding (within 48 hours, depending on how urgent the issue is). Parking is an issue as well as dog mess, as another reviewer pointed out, but I still find the small issues heavily outweighed by my pleasant experience living here. I would also like to know where some of the bad reviewers have lived before, because I toured almost every apartment complex in the area and Milstead was by far the best option. Dont be deterred by other reviewers! Be smart in choosing where in the complex you live, and you should not have a problem. I am only withholding a star because there is a mandatory charge for cable and I would really rather there wouldnt be. The apartments are expensive enough (although reasonable for what you get) without it.
I hate this place, I blindly signed into a lease that no where meets the same expectations as I was told. We constantly have roaches crawling around our place even though we have such a clean place! Its so aggravating! We also have continually been billed wrongfully for our water usage- our water usage is so low yet they are forcing us to pay for water we do not use- there are constant ceiling flakes falling down because our neighbors have huge leaks in their pipes so we have brown stains all over our ceilings (but yet apparently we do not have any leaks although you can CLEARLY tell and see there are!!). The office is somewhat helpful but most of the time it just feels like they say anything to make you feel okay but they never truly follow through with their promises. It is just so aggregating pay sooooo much for below sub par! The gate calling to let your guests in doesnt even work! It is so outrageous here, I would recommend looking more in depth before securing a place here or to just go anywhere else!
Milstead was a great place to live and I made plenty of great memories over my 2 years there. The apartments are nice and the complex looks like a picture with the trees over most roads and the big fountain. Parents, Id highly recommend you check out Milstead instead of the other student housing in the area. I lived at a student apartment my first year (started with a U and rhythms with Sub) and my experience with Milstead has been 10 times better. I never had an issue with parking while I lived here. Maintenance was always responsive to any issues that came up and they fixed things fast and well. The apartments are nicer than ANY student place and the amenities are better (pool, tennis court, car wash, garages!?!). With a roommate or 2 you can get a better deal than you can at a student apartment. I never had issues with neighbors and actually got to know some of them well. One helped me with my car and another was a locksmith who helped me get into my place when I lost my key. Other reviews mention bugs, but pest control came every 2 weeks to treat a building and address any issues in other buildings. Youll see a roach or two outside (be real here, you live in a building with ~40 other people and more buildings all around) but they were never an issue inside or around food. The office hosts events usually 1-2 times per month where they provide food or some kind of prize as they genuinely want to get to know the residents. Special shout out to Danijela the assistant property manager, she helped me a ton during my move out and worked around my schedule to get my inspection done. Everyone in the office is super nice but I worked with her the most and couldnt be happier with my experience. Read your lease and follow the instructions (I forgot to give move out notice and ended up staying an extra month, but its clearly in the lease and they sent 2 reminders so it was on me) and you will have a great experience! I would recommend Milstead to anyone looking for a nice place around Kennesaw.
Im not usually one to do online reviews, but I felt this one was necessary. This place is an absolute nightmare. My apartment has been infested with roaches and centipedes coming through the air vents since I moved in. We keep the apartment spotless and have still had cockroaches fall on us in our beds and showers. It is disgusting. The office staff is rude and not willing to help with any situation. They had continued to brush me off about the constant bug problems to the point where I have given up. The parking is horrendous, considering there is not even enough spots for all the residents let alone guests. The only good thing about this place is the maintenance staff. Dont waste your money on this place. The rent is the same price as other complexes in the area and not worth the money.
I’m really surprised and disappointed how this place has gone down hill. All the negative reviews are shocking.I lived here for two years. Loved my apartment. What I was paying then I thought was pricey($800). I see it’s doubled since. Had a one bedroom unit upstairs looking out at the water fountain. Never had an issue with staff or maintenance. I can only remember once calling maintenance about the garbage disposal. And it was fixed that day. Never had an issue with parking, flooding, loud parties or bugs/mice. Now the gate was a pain. It was always broken. I would witness college kids literally forcing them open and breaking the gate and the arms. It happened so frequently that I didn’t bother reporting it.Im sure it seems useless posting a review now. I have friends who are wanting to relocate to Kennesaw. I mentioned this place. MilStead Village is in a great spot. Hope they can start seriously investing money into it.
Good location and that is about it. My apartment was infested with roaches. If you ever went into the kitchen at night their would be hundreds in the sink and surrounding areas and nothing was ever done to fix it besides a spray every 3 months or so. Tons of fees that are just BS like the fact that they make you pay for a carpet cleaning at the end of lease, this should be done by the maintenance staff and not come out of our pocket. Parking was always limited, and only a handful of guest sports were available which made having guest over very hard. Left and rented a house in the area with the same amount of roommates and it was way cheaper. Not recommended.
This is a much better than average complex for the area around Kennesaw State. It is reasonably quiet. Repairs occur. The office is open more than at other places. My apartment was in really good shape. I have lived in two other apartments in the area, and this was the best. We left to get a house, not because of dissatisfaction.
I am not a fan of apartment life, overhead neighbors, loud stereos and mufflers are a pain. But, the staff at Milstead are outstanding, helpful and kind. They take care of our apartments and the complex. They are also responsive to needs and repairs. The amenities are more than sufficient. I just re-upped for another year.
If you are a college student, good luck having the office staff respect you as an adult. They are rude and disrespectful and I have had to get my parents involved on MANY occasions and they will listen to them but not me when I say the exact same thing. I have had giant cockroaches in my apartment and they supposedly do bug control here but they have yet to reach my apartment building after about 4 months of living here. I heard great things about this place a year ago and now everyone I know who lives here has had many problems. The only plus about this complex is the maintenance staff and the convenient location to school.
Customer service is basically non existent. Better hope you have good luck, and nothing goes wrong within your apartment because trying to get someone to fix the problem/be compensated for the huge problem, is as hard as pulling teeth. Very rude front desk when you approach them with the problem, all around disappointing. The gate works less than 50% of the time, and when it does, they do such a poor job of controlling who goes in and out of the complex that there is very little to no parking on a day to day basis. Below sub par living, even worse management. Problems occur almost weekly, either the door handle falls off, the towel holder in the shower falls off, laundry door stops working. Oven shorts out and causes the breaker to flip. Do not recommend.
Don’t bother moving into this apartment complex.I was Charged 1350 in charges when moving out after already paying my rent and fees.I stayed Here 2.5 yearsAnd was charged a carpet replacement fee(How clean is a light brown carpet ) after almost 3 years.Erin told me they don’t replace them if they still look clean ..how nasty and cheap !It’s just Carpet.I cleaned My entire apartment and because it wasn’t to their standards i was ChargedA cleaning fee.Don’t they already clean after someone moves out ....Maintenance is goodAnd the apartments are smallWasher and dryer goodBut it’s small space for what you pay 💰Anyways glad I’m out of their..and although this bill is a surpriseI’m fighting to dispute it !Also was charged for a broken microwaveThat was broken when moving in ..Buy a House if you can .Best thing ever ❤️
I lived in an apartment at Milstead for 6 months and I’m 99% sure I was exposed to black mold that was growing in the air vents. If you look at the ceiling and around the air vents especially, you can see black dust that is hard to get off. We tried to call about this and they tried to tell us it was from burning candles inside which was actually impossible to be the cause of the problem since only like one candle had been burned inside. They also took two months to process my paperwork and payment for subleasing from the previous renter who had moved out. This whole place is just ???? It’s unfortunate because given the great location, this place has potential but due to lack of maintenance and care for the living conditions of these apartments it’s just not worth the money. Don’t move here unless you want chronic bronchitis from black mold exposure!
I loved living at Milstead Village! I was in a one bedroom with a beautiful view of the pool and vollyball court. It was just me so the space was perfect and just enough. The balcony was huge!!! My appliances with stainless steel with grainte granite countertops was nice. I loved that apartment!!! The only thing I wish they had was washer and dryers included but I made it work. I never had a bug issue nor did I ever see a bug in my apartment.
If you are doing research on a place to live, DO NOT move here. The location of it is amazing but it wasnt worth it in the end. All the negative reviews on here are very accurate. When I first moved in we didnt have working A/C for about a week which was awful. There are constant issues with cockroaches that were never solved. Parking is a joke and on multiple occasions had to park halfway across the complex to find an empty spot. Management there is awful (Except for Erin) and they are very inconsiderate and wont work with you on anything. I honestly dont know why I signed here, but Im glad my lease is over and can move away!
If I could put zero stars i would. Each day I live here, something gets more gross and awful. We have now had black mold in all of our window sills, painted over outlets that are almost un-useable, leaking toilets for the past 5 months, paint jobs that were so messy that all of our floors are speckled, rusted kitchen appliances, holes in the walls from previous owners, AND to top it off we have just been told we have a “German roach” infestation which causes us to be killing 10-12 roaches every day. The “pest control treatment” that we pay for every month might as well be sugar water that they spray around the apartments each week because I swear all it does is get worse right after they come. The staff is so sassy and not helpful whatsoever. Any sort of problem that you report to them is written off as your own fault and almost no help to follow when it was something out of your control. Dealing with them makes me want to move out even if I had the perfect apartment complex- and I definitely do not. Do not live here it was the worst mistake of my life, and if I could move out right now I would.
We have been living here since June and are already having issues, we were supposed to have someone come by to spray for bugs, but they haven’t answered yet and that was 2 weeks ago. The cockroach’s are huge and the place is dirty, and don’t even think about trying to get a place to park, the visitors spots are full of people with parking decals?? And the parking lots are full of people. They need to start clearing out the spots for people who need the spots.
Its not as bad as people are rating it on here. We have been here a year... And I like it a lot. Havent had any issues with towing, rodents, insects, nothing. Noise isnt that bad, but you have to sort of know what youre getting into when you move down the road from a college. My only issues are parking and peoples dogs; there isnt a lot of parking at all, and people dont clean up after their stupid dogs and I dont think theres much of a penalty (there should be). But overall, very nice place to live!
I have lived here for 6 months and I am sad to say that it has been 6 months too long. Where do I begin? Ah, Ill start from the literal beginning- the gate. The gate is always broken. It gets repaired, then a day later it is broken again. If I had a dollar for every day the gate was broken, I wouldnt be complaining about the price of my rent. (its far too high) Moreover, my phone number associated with the gate code which allows guests to enter has never worked. Which is not a problem because the gate is always open because its broken. Additionally, the parking in this residence is absolutely and unequivocally god forsaken. There is no parking after 9 pm, and if you have guests visiting anytime after sunset, there will be no visitors spots. And do not dare allow your guests to park in non-visitors spots because that car will get towed almost immediately (If only the maintenance moved as quickly as the tow truck). Now, for the best or worst part of this experience depending on how you look at it, my apartment has been infested with a medley of different insects. At first it was alarming. I contacted the leasing office so that this issue could get handled, and Im assuming the pest control guy came by (I assume). All i have is the lady at the front desks word, and Im not too sure how valuable that is. Anyway, the problem consisted, so I contacted for a resolution to the problem once more. I was told that the pest control man would stop by again. After I continued to see insects (roaches, and other unidentifiable crawlers) I realized that there was no hope. I gave up. Oh, and I forgot to mention that we pay a pest control fee! Oh, the irony. Anyway, lets just say that the crawlers have not left and this is just as much their home as it is mine. It is so embarrassing having guests come over to see crawling pests. I have never lived in such squalor. Before I signed the lease to live in this disappointment, I looked at the apartments reviews on google. I was shocked to see only 1 star and figured that people were being microscopic. Boy, was I wrong. I will never take a google review for granted again in my life, and you shouldnt either. You should thank me for this! Attached is a photo of a random night that my roommate and I decided to pull the fridge out to see the inside of the bugs habitat. This is a mild picture by the way. If I could give this place a 0 I would.
Worst place i have ever lived. Our apartment became infested with roaches after only two weeks of us living there. After complaining to the office all they could offer was a pest guy coming once a week which did not fix the problem at all. The people in the office are pretty rude as well. They dont really care about your problem they just want your money. LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE I PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT. The only positive i can get out of all of this is location. Being with in walking distance of cookout on a drunk night was nice.
I have lived here for two years, and it has gotten worst month after month. Terrible management, they need a new office manager. The only person nice there is Erin. In addition they dont upkeep the property seems like they dont care about their tenants until after you sign and they constantly go up on prices. Then God forbid you tell them you are not resigning your lease look at your final ledger you got all sorts of bogus fees and charges. The worst company, go across the street and rent from the mill. Lived there for 2 years before and the only reason why I didnt go back was because they didnt have the floor plan I wanted for the dates I needed. Awful awful awful here and to make this even sweeter I was a hell of a paying tenant with a high rent.
Be careful with the reviews that you see on here. Remember most people only come to review when they have a problem. I personally think the staff is very friendly. Ive only had a few issues that needed repair, ( a loose window, ice machine not working) and maintenance has always responded within 24 hours and repaired within 48 hours. The apartment is clean (when we keep it clean) and beautiful, I get comments on it from all of my visitors. The only problem I could see is visitor parking which they can only do so much about. I would highly recommend living here to anyone.
Dont. Just dont move here. Its honestly disgusting how badly my roommates and I were deceived by this horrid place. We moved in on a Saturday, and came to the conclusion to move out within 36 hours of us being there. I woke up Sunday morning to my bathroom flooded, the apartment was roach INFESTED, and the bathroom ceiling was leaking from the floor above. I went and spoke with the manager Monday morning to void the lease and after they spoke with their regional manager - they agreed to void lease and reimburse us the pro-rated rent, security deposit, and application fees (these werent approved until later). We requested to stay no more than a week until we could move into a different apartment, in a different apartment complex. THEN on Wednesday, a loaf of bread (which was on top of a toaster oven that was on the counter) was eaten through... come to find out there are MICE. M***** f****** rodents on top of all the bulls*** we experienced up to this point. Listen, I deployed to Afghanistan and lived in better conditions than this s***. Although I am thankful that the leasing office complied to our request to void the lease due to UNINHABITABLE conditions, they seemed to treat us like the red-headed step child. As if all of these problems were the fault of me and my roommates; like WE were inconveniencing THEM. Un-f******-believable. Stay away from this place. Even when you drive by, dont look in its direction. You have been warned!
This is the worst property I have ever lived at! It came as quite a surprise considering they list themselves as a elite property and charge the prices that accompany it. I moved out abruptly due to my apartment becoming infested with Mice/ Rats. I had spoke with other neighbors who prior to my situation in 2 separate buildings that told me they had issues with vermon as well. I honestly didnt think much into it at the time. I began to hear something moving in my ceiling nightly but because I had never dealt with such an issue did not in a million years thing it was a mice problem. Long story short, after I caught 4 in traps over a weekend asked them to house me and my 8 year old in a hotel until they could deal with the situation. I was told that mice in the apartment were not a valid reason to put resident up. In the meantime they patched the hole in the closet they entered through and set additional traps advising pest control said they shouldnt be able to get in anymore and the traps should kill those still in the apartment. So until my move out date my daughter and I were forced to sleep on friends couches or in my room with a towel under the door praying no rodents got to us during the night. I advised them that I could still hear them in the ceiling and at any moment they could re-enter my place or a neighbors. They did not take care of the issue. Each morning we would awake and find something on the trap until we got a total of 7 before moving out.Upon the leasing office approving my early lease termination due to the infestation (after asking you have never dealt with anything like this?) I specifically asked the office manager what I would be responsible for when moving out being given the circumstances. She advised I would not need to clean the carpet, but I would need to clean the bathrooms, kitchen, oven, fridge and patch holes in the wall. I did all these things as asked, I received a call today advising they would be send me a bill because they were going to replace the carpet due to it being stained, I said maam my carpet was not in the condition to be replaced did you try cleaning it? I was told... Once they look at it and believe the carpet needs to be replaced they do not attempt to clean it. I inquired as to what that meant for me and was told the expect their carpet to last 5-7 years and since it only lasted 2 I would have to pay a prorated price to replace it! When did that become my responsibility? She also stated that there were marks on the walls and doors( which can be cleaned or painted over) they would need to charge me for. And that the apartment was not left spotless. I reminded her of the reason I was moving and the discussion she and I had about what needed to be completed. I cannot believe the way I have been treated at this so called elite property. I am now seeking legal counsel because I do not believe this should be the end of this situation as I feel completely mistreated and walked over.P.s. ~ This is not my only experience, just the most traumatizing. DO NOT MOVE HERE! As a previous review stated they are definitely ALL about getting your money and not satisfying their residents. I wish I would have read reviews prior to moving here and felt the need to do my part to ward off those looking, another side note, their turnover of residents is reiculously high, which says A LOT!
These apartments are old and falling apart. There are infestations of critters. You are nickeled and dimed for everything. They have little parking. Your water bills will be outrageous because you will be held responsible for the water usage of your neighbors. They claim you are being billed an average for the building . Its ridiculous. So no matter how conservative you are with water, it wont matter. The gates are constantly broken every day. The office staff will be nice to you until you sign your life away. It is an expensive dump. Look elsewhere. Im breaking my lease after being here less than 2 months.
I am apart of the Young Adult crowd and I have to say this has been one of the worst living experience of my life! Yes the people at the office are very nice and polite, in your face! but when you call with any problem they act as if your problem is not important to them.Every since I moved into this place it has been a problem of some sort with the appliances or anything of that matter. It all started the day we came to move in, we had plan to move here from florida on the eighth. but when we got here our apartment wasnt even ready and we had to wait a whole two extra days, not to mention we didnt move into the apartment we originally viewed. The second problem arrived when we the front door wouldnt lock properly. We called and it took us being locked inside our own apartment a week later for them to finally come out and fix it. that seem to be the pattern with this whole place. something breaks and I have to constantly be the one to call over and over again for them to come out and fix it. I cant even count on all my fingers and toes how much times the toilets have over flooded and been stopped up!And dont get me started on the pest and bugs here! At first when we saw a few roaches we seem to ignore it but every since Pest control has came out and sprayed two small areas in the living room the roaches have seem to sprout and come out alot more often, really doing the opposite of what they were suppose to do.So with that being said I wouldnt tell you not to move here, but if your enjoy being ignored by the staff, roaches, and almost every amenity in your home defected then this is the place to be!
This is not the place to live if you want quiet and clean. Tenants cant park, because alot of KSU kids park in our lot for football games. The officer that works here is a joke, he never answers your calls. If you leave aessage for management, they call you back a week later. This place is way over priced. Since I have been living hete, my stove, washer and dryer have all broke. Pus the water presdure is bad, you run out of hot water very fast. My advise..look elsewhere. These employees, especially the manager is a joke. She lies all the time.
I have lived here since August of 2014. I absolutely love the leading staff and management they take care of all theyre tenants and go above and beyond to make sure they are satisfied within reason, all of them are incredibly honest and helpful, before and after you sign the lease, the management keeps up very well with the landscape, its competitively priced, I was going to end my lease due to the increase of rent, but after looking at just about all the other rental properties in the area, it would be just about the same price if not a little cheaper, the other apartments and rental properties I would go see werent near as nice as Milstead village, it really feels like home here, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, I could fall asleep on the carpet its so soft haha. Its pretty quiet for the most part. My apartment has so much space and is incredibly comfy. the maintainance team are professional and fix issues within hours of the call. I would definitely refer anyone to live here any day.The only thing that sucks is sometimes the landscape crew starts earlier than I would like, visitor parking can kinda be an issue at certain times but they can only do so much, actually a couple years ago they tore up some of the landscape to provide additional parking, the gates are always in good working condition now as long as no one hits them. Amazing place to live you guys, if you live anywhere else youre missing out. Unless you live at AMLI then your just needy. You dont need a chair in the pool bro.
This place is terrible and they are scammers. Theyll charge you $25 for litter thats not yours (how can I help who throws trash outside my apartment). Theyll fine you another $25 for leaving your garbage can outside past 7:00AM in the morning... God forbid if I were to sleep in one day. And when my garbage disposal broke it took 6 days for them to send someone to fix it and by then there were tons of flies everywhere and it stunk up the whole apartment. And last but not least they completely lied and forged my lease agreement. I signed up for a 6 month lease and paid an extra $30 a month in order to have a shorter lease and when my lease was supposed to be up... guess what??? They had a whole new contract with my copied signature on the lease stating that I had to stay for another 6 months (which is a full lease). There wasnt anything I could really do about it. I neither have the money nor, the time to take it to court so, I am stuck. But dont make the same mistake. Trust me... go somewhere else. Dont let cheap off brand stainless steel appliances or some water fountain fool you... this place is NOT upscale.
Have lived here since September of 2016. Not many issues, and maintenance is very quick and responsive. The only problems Ive had so far are the bugs. We pay a monthly fee for pest control and it doesnt help at ALL. Ive even woke up to a roach in my bed. And I dont like how they have a contract with Comcast, forcing you to get cable tv. Then you have to set up separately for internet, so you end up paying more because the bills are separately.
Do not move in here. Apartment was not move in ready and over a month later i still cant get the office to fix the issues. Bugs are everywhere in apartment. Move in with paint peeling, chunks of drawers and cabinets missing, burnt microwave, stained carpets and offices response was i just have to deal with it. the blinds were so dirty and grouse when i moved in that after a week of living in the apartment i finally got them to replace them but only after harassing them every day. Cable is not a deal as the rate with comcast is cheaper without using them but you have to. Go to apartments across the street before here. rent is too high for how grouse this place is.A year later this place is even worse which is hard to believe. Had to live in a termite infested apartment for over a month. VP is is rude and has no care in the world for her residents issues as they know they can charge you an arm and a leg if you break your lease. Mold is still around all windows and holes and cracking and you can put your fingers through the walls. Maintenance has now ruined my dark blinds and comforter and offices response is i dont care. stay away
I moved to Kennesaw earlier this year to open a new business. As a business owner, I work very long hours; many days beginning at 5:00 am and not ending until way into the evening. When I come home, I want/need a positive environment so I can recoup and start the next day all over again.I am very disappointed with Milstead Village as it is not the community represented to me when I moved in. I am constantly stepping or tripping over bottles, broken glass, cans, cigar wrappers, and trash that litter the stairwells. In addition to the abundance of trash outside apartment doors, on balconies, and in the parking lot, there are many, many other safety and health issues such as:Security issues with both the car and walk-thru gates being broken just asking for vandalism and causes for previous theft Issues in the community. Safety issues with the gates of the unkempt drainage ditch that feeds the increase abundance of bugs and rodents.Broken fence provides a significant safety risk to a 20 drop off very close to a busy street that has been the cause of multiple deaths this year.Parking is totally inadequate for the size of the complex constantly forcing resident to park across the entire complex which is not only very inconvenient but unsafe late at night.I you live or plan on moving towards the kennesaw area. I advise you to stay far away from Milstead Village apartments.
Ive lived here for almost a year and it has been good for the most part. But recently I had a really frustrating experience. As a resident I have a parking pass that should allow me to park where ever there is an open spot. I parked in an un marked area, where many peoplePark every single day. There are no distinguishing lines, however because of the way the area is designed multiple cars can fit into this area. I arrived late one night and found the only open spot in this area. Parking is a nightmare to begin with. Ive parked in the exact same place before and never had a problem. I woke up the next day and found out my car was gone. I had to call the towing office to find out where my car was. Millstead did not contact me to let me know my car had been towed. I was then forced to pay 125 dollars to pick up my car. When I went in to talk about the parking area with no lines, they said that no one is allowed to park there or wherever there are no white lines. I made the argument that they have to put something there then to designate it as a parking area so that other people dont get towed. Basically I felt cheated as a paying resident that my car had been towed from an area that isnt clearly defined and then had to pay 125 dollars even though I have a parking pass. So if your thinking about moving here, just know your putting your car at risk. No place is safe from the tow trucks.
Where do I began....HEED THIS WARNING please find another apartment complex to live in. We had an ant problem, a leak from the bathroom above us, two of my cars were hit in the parking lot (one guy did leave a note), our storage shed got water in it every time it rained, the noise was unbearable at times from K State functions, no knock against college students Ive been one but they can be extremely loud and immature, we had to get on one guy for throwing ice cubes off a balcony that hit my Acura. The staff for the most part is friendly until you have an issue, we failed to provide a 60 day notice to vacate, we did so on day 56 and they charged us an additional four days. There was no compassion from them, only sorry this is our policy. They are unyielding in their position but expect you to understand their shortcomings, i.e. water that got into my storage shed...no offer to pay for anything that was damaged. Oh yeah the gate, dont let if fool you the front gate stay broken because people are constantly damaging it, so it is not a true gated complex at least half of the time. Parking is an absolute nightmare, there were many occassions when we had to park 5 minutes away from our building.Bottom line I would look elsewhere to live, there are several other apartment complexes in that area you would be wise to choose a different one.
Warning! Worst service ever! I lived there from 2009-2013. You pay an arm and a leg and if you put service in it gets done the very next month. Hows that for quick service. You will like it for a bit till you become aware. And please dont go by their office hours because they close whenever they feel like it and when you call them on it they say well we were out showing property which of course is a lie. I waited one day nearly an hour before closing time in my car to avoid dropping my rent late and not paying $100 late fee. They never showed up. The next day they told me they had been in the office all day and basically I was a liar...no really the blond big manager flat out called me a liar to my face. Hows that for customer service. This complex caters to 20 somethings that go to KSU and dont care or realize bad they are having bad customer service. So, I am writing this review because I am upset. 2 years after leaving I find out that there were charges on the credit report, something I had settled two years ago. So warning, do not cross that blond excuse for a manger, she will charge you bogus charges ($300 for a five + old carpet) and other miscellaneous. Still fighting it, after I paid my final rent and fees and gave my keys in good standing I get a charge after the fact. Mind you I had scheduled 3 times to do final checks with her, she told me she would be the only one to do it, yet the next few days made herself sparse. She was too busy even though she scheduled me the first two days and the 3rd day didnt even come to work but scheduled me anyways. Very professional right. Afterwards I had gotten checked out by another employee, who was actually nice and told me everything was squared away, took my keys and now 2 years later charges. I hate that place so much! Uuughhhh! So frustrated.Sorry for ranting, hope this saves another person from frustration. Also, by the way I got my new apartment down the street right away by saying I was an unsatisfied customer of Millstead Village, I was countered by a laugh and was told that half their customer are from MV and they are making great business for them by being so awful. Go to another apartment with larger space and professional staff. That’s my story and I am sticking to it.
DO NOT LIVE HERE.the gates are broken 9 months out of the year (i’m not exaggerating. the office management is rude and hard to get through to. the apartments are old and falling apart (door handles falling off, laundry room door breaks, bugs, etc.). not to mention the outrageous rent prices.
Find Another Apartment. Ive lived here 3 years which is too long if u ask me. My first place became infested with termites that they never took care of just had me move and turned it into a show apartment. And my second place had a water pipe burst over my bedroom causing 2200$ in damages and all the apartment did was replace the blinds and send in 3 VERY inexperienced workers who did a shoddy job and mixed up the only two paint colors in the apartment! So now my bedroom is painted with bland exterior paint .on top of all this Ive found 3 mice in less than a month and still waiting on pest control .... Do not waste your money here
Terrible place, move in day we were told place has no fans and they were just now being ordered. The apartment we moved into was still under-construction and the toilet was being repaired for flooding the day before. The front desk lady has been nothing but disrespectful to my roommate and I. On top of all of this the A/C has not worked since move in...
This place is priced high and very low quality. First off the pros of this place is its location, its very close to all the major things in kennesaw, and thats it. The cons of this place: 1) ROACHES, theyre everywhere all the time and no one is willing to do anything about it. 2) MANAGEMENT, quite literally the least competent management ever, they literally just tell you everything is your fault when you try to report any issues with them, this includes the maintenance staff who dont do anything at all for most of the day. 3) SCAMS, this place is literally about getting you trapped to pay them more money to fix the issues you didnt cause so that they dont have to. 4) PARKING, this one might be minor to some and I can only speak for the area near my building but there is literally never enough parking after 6 pm everyday no matter the day and for those of us that commute its so annoying to have to walk across the subdivision because thats the only place to find parking. In my personal opinion and that of my two roommates, save yourself the trouble and apply to live somewhere else because its literally unlivable unless your OK with being covered in roof mold, roaches, some rats, and an incompetent management team/ staff.
Ok place to live. Mostly quiet but it’s a perfect place for your dog to take a dump or urinate. Almost anywhere outside you can battle the aroma of pee and dodge fresh and dried poop. The maintenance men are awesome and try to pick up after our careless neighbors but the supply of feces would out pace an army of poo scoopers. Truly, at Milstead, there’s no need to even walk your dog. Simply train it to pee and poop on your patio. This may drip onto the property of others, but no one in control seems to mind.Smells bad here. Pretty much a health risk for children, honest pet owners and full grown humans alike.
Very disappointed with the Management especially the VP of the property. My daughter has lived there 3 months, ut has stayed there only 3 nights. We have had major family issues. I phoned and spoke to the VP explaining how we had just had a loss and that my daughter needed to come live with her grandpa who is now having health issues. My daughter gave her written notice, an older agent explained to my daughter that she needed to pay her 2 months rent, she will be completing by the end of next week. HOWEVER< that is not the story. My daughter now must come up with an additional 1400.00 to get out of the lease. THIS IS STUPID BEYOND BELIEF. Management has the ability to assist and they did not.We do not have all this extra money..I can understand if she was not coming home, but these people are not HUMANS THEY ARE INSENSITIVE MISERABLE PEOPLE THAT WILL NOT BEND! OH HEY THEY OFFERED ARRANGEMENTS DOE 90 DAYS, BUT STILL WANTED THEIR DAMN MONEY!!!Not wishing ill will, but god help you if you ever need anything from someone and they too do notcare! HEY MANAGEMENT..LOOK AT THESE REVIEWS NO ONE IS HAPPY///MMMM TIME TO SELF REFLECT DON;T YOU THINK!!
I’m so over new management I can’t wait to move. Their communication is horrible always trying to make someone pay unnecessary fees and they try to act like it wasn’t their fault they didn’t let us know. I’ve lived here 5 years and this year will be my last and this is the second time I’ve had to get on here to express how I feel about this or management tbh. Come stay here if u want a headache and pay unnecessary fees.
We have lived here for a year an a half. The first year was great, because we never had a service request. Our first major service request was that our refrigerator/freezer stopped working. They came and fixed it immediately, so we went out and bought new groceries. We came home to a fridge/freezer that was blowing hot air. So we called the emergency request phone (that specifically states that a fridge/freezer that is not working is an after hours emergency) to which no one replied to our voicemail. We called again and hour and a half later and left a more persistent voicemail, and they called us back 3 minutes later (funny, huh?). They brought us a new fridge and told us this isnt an after hours service (maybe change your policy then?!). A month or so later, our AC (in August) went out. We called them and told them, and they said it would be fixed by Friday (it was Wednesday), and they would bring us a portable AC unit to help cool down the place. 4 hours and 90° later, we still didnt have a portable unit. I called the front office to which the lady named Sheri told me to open a window, it was about rain. NO AMOUNT OF RAIN WOULD FIX THE FACT THAT IT WAS 90° IN THE APARTMENT. Finally, 8 days later the AC was fixed. That was way different than the original 2 days it was oringinally supposed to take. Our latest call was about our fridge/freezer, again. When we called Sheri, we told her it wasnt working or making ice, she told us well Ill just put in that the ice maker isnt working and theyll be here today or maybe Monday (2 days from now). NO! We did not want to have to buy new food AGAIN, so we went down to the office. We talked to Erin (who is the nicest person there), and we proved to her our ice cream was melted, and she called maintenance to get there immediately. Avoid this place at all cost unless you think youll never have a maintenance request. Its sad because they didnt used to suck this bad and a handful of the gentlemen who work maintence are actually pretty nice...
DO NOT MOVE HERE! There are roaches everywhere, I don’t know where they’re coming from but it’s HORRIBLE. I should have read these reviews because it’s driving me crazy. We spray our apartment all the time and keep it very clean ..still roaches left and right. Stay away 🤢
FYE is the manager and is not helpfulTAMEKA is a courtesy officer that is RUDE! They should fire her. She hangs up on you while you are asking questions. She was acting like a B....WORST parking ever. WILL tow your car if illegally parked... BUT they pick and choose witch ones will tow. There are cars parked next to fire lines, storage units and on grass and do not get towed. They have a freezing sign covering the tow information. So there is no possible way to know where your car is.IF there was a option for no stars they would have got it.Beautiful complex. Just nasty attitudes you get from the employees here.
I have lived at Millstead for 2 years and love it. I think the staff is very friendly - they know me by name when I go in, and they have great community nights periodically where the staff chooses to make dinner themselves for the residents. Great proximity to KSU, too!
Ive been here for 1 year 5 months. I like the location. The parking does suck. There is a a big lack of communication between maintenance and office. Anytime ive had a problem they have fixed it. This ud more of a college place. If you have kids dont move in here. For the last 3 months the office staff have been rude if i had corporates number i would call.
This place is horrible! Do not live here! Bugs and Rats (not mice) In apartments, staff is horrible and incompetent for the exception of maintance....gates are always broke, and they tow residents on accident live at the mill across the street or any other complex on busbee.

2022-04-07This is coming in a lil late, but we had a rough experience with a previous roommate who we needed out and the office was very patient and extremely helpful throughout the whole process. They worked with us through the whole process and helped with any issues. Not even in just this instance, but with any questions or concerns we have had. The main ten e crew is also amazing and very good at what they do! The complex is definitely nice and well priced! We have enjoyed our stay here.

2022-04-20I lived at MAA Milstead for 2+ years. The staff, particularly Sherree (front office) and Jon (maintenance), were wonderful, but there are a number of issues, in my opinion, you may face if you choose to live here. In my opinion, the buildings need maintenance. For example, I had an exterior wall leak that had to be fixed multiple times. The complex assesses many fees and the parking is inadequate in my opinion. Multiple times guests could not find a visitor space available anywhere. When I reached out to the complex, I didnt receive an answer to solve this problem. And, yes, one of my guests vehicles was towed as a result. If safety is a concern, I never had a problem (which is wonderful!), but the gate is open during the day and broke more than once. That wasnt an issue for me, but for folks looking for a secured gated community, this probably aint it.This apartment got me through my initial move to Kennesaw and the staff were great - for that Im grateful, but I wouldnt live here again and wouldnt recommend it to others. The rent is very expensive, the parking availability is a significant and serious problem, and there are (as in all apartments) some seriously obnoxious neighbors with little recourse for redress and conflict resolution.

2022-04-07Please due your due diligence prior to taking residence at this complex. The buildings are old and not well kept. When issues arise they do patch work and not truly fix the issue. I’ve experienced roaches, improper towing, ceiling leaks (still not fixed) Ac going out multiple times and after escalating the response giving to me was that “they can’t guarantee these things won’t happen “ so I just urge that you please do your research! Oh and parking is a nightmare ensure your home before 8pm or it’s a long hike to your apt. I hope this was helpful to someone

2022-06-22A fabulous place, despite living with many young people, it is quiet, the office provides excellent service, when I have called for them to come and fix anything, they immediately send the person in charge. Sherree the Office Manager, she is always very kind and very helpful. They take great care of the outdoor areas. I am very happy to be here.

2022-01-29This is the first apartment I have rented after looking for almost a year and Katrina was so nice and accommodating showing us all of our options for apartments. My roommate and I have been living here for a month now and we really enjoy living here and the calls we recieve from the staff making sure we are happy and taken care of.

2022-04-21At first I have very negative feelings about this place, but ever since Sherry in the front office came things have truly turned around! She is so sweet and truly cares whenever we reach out. There has been great communication lately and things have been resolved quickly whenever ever have issues.

2022-03-11No one is helpful at the front office . They couldnt care less about u or your life . The rent is OUTRAGEOUS and they can’t even take out our trash. I will never live at an maa again I can’t wait to move out ! The maitnence men come in even when ur not there ! I’m posting this to help u not live here ! Everything is crazy expensive and the front desk ladies can’t ever do anything about an issue and seem to find pleasure in making u upset . Not to mention the apartments are built cheaply as possible and everything falls apart or has some kinda issue . Terrible .

2021-10-07The best experience I’ve had moving into an apartment in years! Katrina was extremely helpful and insightful. It felt like I didn’t have to do anything at all. I was in good hands the whole time. 10/10 Recommend!!
