Quaint restaurant and bar in the Five Points area of Athens. Our waitress Arielle was very informative and attentive. The menu is mainly seafood but they do have meat type of fare. You can pick how you want your seafood cooked (grilled, fried, pan), which is a refreshing change. I chose the platter which allows you a choice of 5 different items and also comes with 2 sides and hush puppies. I ordered shrimp (grilled) and artichoke hearts (unusual item, grilled). The sides would satisfy a vegetarian as there was quite a variety such as asparagus, sweet potato as well as the usual Mac/cheese and fries for the kids. The platter is priced at $21 and comes with such an assortment and quantity of items, that I could not finish. Great value. The atmosphere reminded me of a seaside restaurant with the many windows and large deck. I would definitely recommend Marker Seven.
This place is definitely worth coming to. The surf and turf hits the spot, the grouper nuggets are the best appetizer I have had in a long time. The waiter, whos name is Spencer, definitely does a great job. I was highly impressed with the whole experience. I will be going back.
The lunch here is delicious and well portioned, restaurant is clean and staff is super polite and checks up on customers regularly. Personally I got the fried shrimp spinach wrap with the roasted sweet potatoes and it was delicious. The grouper bites are also delicious and practically melt in your mouth
Service, once we were seated, was great - friendly, attentive and prompt without rushing us. The food was not great. My crab cake sandwich was mushy and, other than salty, really lacked any flavor. I couldnt really discern any crab in the crab cake. Just lots of binder. And salt. Lots and lots and lots of salt. The fries were good. My daughters hamburger was also bland, as if they took the salt they should have used to season her burger and dumped it on my crab cake sandwich. Might try coming back for dinner to see if the experience is different, but Im not in a hurry to do so.
We went for brunch and it was great. People standing in line for it to open. Thats always a good sign. Great deals on drink specials. Spencer was our bartender and he did a great job with the suggestions. Everything that he recommended was outstanding. Thanks to him it was a great brunch. Started with Blue Point oysters, then avacado bites. The crab cake Benedict may be the best Ive had in years. The other dish was the breakfast burrito and it was excellent. Plenty of shrimp in the burrito. We will definitely be coming back soon.
I ended up getting the Hawaiian Scallops as my entree with a side of macaroni and the house salad. Let me just say: WOW. The basalmic glaze and bacon on the scallops was insanely good, the macaroni was perfect, and the house salad’s Blood Orange Shallot Vinegrette dressing was fantastic!Update: I came back and got chicken tacos with the warm creamy cheese grits! They were equally as incredible as the scallops and my parents are obsessed with the fried shrimp (which is American caught not farm raised). We’re regulars now 🤣
Ok I made a review right after eating here Thursday and after almost a week I just had to rewrite my review because the food and the service is still standing out in my mind almost an entire week later! To start with I chose this place because it was in the area of the YMCA and would be open earlier than most seafood places in the area giving me time to eat there with my work out buddy and get to work on time. I felt welcome even before I stepped foot in the door thanks to the host. He asked if we wanted indoor seating or outdoor and me and my friend spoke about it for a second and after I mentioned to my friend that surprisingly since losing weight and exercising I sweated more than before so indoor would probably be best the host smiled and said oh yeah because your metabolism is picking up! Not only did it feel good to have someone notice that connection but it let me know he was paying attention and was offering service accordingly. Sitting down I remember remarking to my friend that I liked that the theme was nautical but not overly so to the point of being cheap and gimmicky. Our food was absolutely delicious, the kitchen staff know what they are doing for real! I remember being disappointed at first that the grouper filets were so thin because I thought they would be dry, but I was wrong they were crispy yet juicy! That was a pleasant surprise to say the least! And to top it all of our server was very polite and helpful and went above and beyond! I love that he gathered dishes while we finished up the current part of our conversation before asking if we were doing ok or needed anything. I could tell he respected my time with my loved ones yet also made sure we were taken care of and as a food service worker myself I know just how hard of a balance that is to strike. This will now be one of my regular spots and thank you for making me and my friend feel not only welcome but pampered as well!
Probably the best seafood experience I’ve had in some time. The coconut shrimp with mango-habanero purée was awesome. Shrimp & grits were top notch too. Harrison was a great server. He was knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly. We will definitely be back soon. Give this place a try if you haven’t already!
First time here was March 9, 2022 shortly after the mask mandate was lifted. So masks were not mandatory nor seen. As for my experience, I took my mother there for her birthday dinner as she had been wanting to try it out for some time. Sadly her sense of taste has not yet returned, so how the food tasted to her was just about all the same.We started with the fried Grouper appetizer, which was good as a snack. The tartar sauce provided was very mild and the mayonnaise flavor really came out. I think it might have been better with the Aeoli sauce, but I did not ask for any.My entre for the evening was the Blackened Salmon BLT. Fascinating concept! It still has the bacon, lettuce, and tomato, but with the added salmon. Served on a ciabatta bun, delivered open, you do have an option to add or subtract any ingredients. I mashed my salmon into the bacon below as the salmon is served as a filet. The sandwich was good with the added salmon, lots of flavors with the added benefit of still having all the flavors come though! I, however, would substitute the iceberg lettuce with Romaine to not only add a subtle flavor but also a little more crunch to the sandwich. My side was the Gouda Baked Mac & Cheese (always my favorite) and thoroughly enjoyed! I would tweak this combo just a little, but definitely order it again. If you havent stopped by, please give them a try. It is mainly seafood served here, so if thats not your thing, I get it. But otherwise, try them out!
Walked into the bar and the bartender was nothing short of RUDE. I mean, when did an attitude constitute customer service?? And this is the 2nd time I’ve been in here this week… service sucked tonight…. Seriously debating giving them another chance…Then he goes to get his “supervisor” who also had a stank attitude that was evident when he walked up…. Maybe the fact that they were closing the store at 8:15 had something to do with it…. Unsure
The best gulf oysters Ive ever had by far. I had the fresh catch of the day which was red snapper, I got it blackened with the Cajun cream sauce. The sides I chosen was the green beans peppers and onions, plus the Smoked Gouda mac and cheese. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. All amazing flavors.
Marker Seven has always been a favorite of my friends and family! The portions are generous and the menu is always changing. Fresh and quality seafood is not the easiest to find in this part of Georgia, but marker 7 is the exception, their oysters are my favorite. The atmosphere is lovely and their outdoor patio is spacious and screened in. You can’t beat the central five points location. Awesome beer selection with local crafts. Great for family’s and groups of friends! Worth a visit!
Marker Seven is the absolute best place in Athens for fresh and delicious seafood, hands down. My personal favorite is the fried seafood basket in which you choose your decadent seafood and two amazing sides. I recommend trying the clam strips; they are delightful! We’ve ate at Marker Seven on many occasions and it never disappoints. Definitely give this place a visit if you haven’t already!
Our first time there but it will NOT be our last! We had Googled Best fish Sandwich in Athens and this restaurant was in the results- so we decided to go somewhere new Our server was very attentive but never hovered- he made good suggestioauraulns about the menu, The food was VERY GOOD! We were very surprised at the size of the grouper bites appetizer- it was large enough for a meal! It was not greasy AT ALL! very tasty I got the fish Sandwich since that was What we googled- and it did not disappoint! Again the fish was flaky and not greasy- I had some reservations about the spinach and fried green tomato when I ordered- but my first bite convinced me that this was an excellent addition to This sandwich! Also some of the best hand- cut fries I have had! five stars all the way!
We visit again and again. The fish and grits is fantastic and a nice alternative to the traditional shrimp and grits. Every meal we have had here has been delicious. We have gone directly after a home football game and walked right in to be seated. Marker 7 will not disappoint!
So, I took my wife here to try something new on our 17th wedding anniversary. The oysters were good but small for the price. The scallops and buffalo shrimp were great! My wife and I both felt as if at least 50% of our steaks were either fat or gristle. The service was super slow and he forgot to put in one of our appetizers at the start of the meal. I watched the 3 tables around us have servers way more attentive to their customers. I understand its a Friday night but we almost spent 3 hours and $150, including the tip here. Im definitely not sure if Ill ever go back. 😠😡
We have been visiting the five point neighborhood for a while and always wanted to try out Marker Seven Coastal Grill. Finally, we managed to have early Dinner on a Tuesday without making a reservation. The seating was super quick, and the outdoor deck is nice and provides ample space. Our waiter, Andrew provided excellent service, followed up on a regular base and was very pleasant. The reason for the 3 stars is the food; we ordered Oysters and a Tuna bruschetta as an appetizer. The oysters have been ok, very small, and I would blame the size on the time of the year, in all fairness, they gave us 7 to compensate for the size. The presentation was ok; it bothered me that the horseradish / hot sauce came in a plastic cup (misrepresentation compared to the web pages pictures). The tuna bruschetta was on a saggy piece of french bread, not something we would order again or even finish the plate. Our main have been the crabcakes with asparagus and hush puppies. The crabcakes have been ok but in the lower end of taste or quality, considering what they claim to be or what they charge. Overall we had the impression that the quality of the ingredients has been on the lower end. We would not recommend this place.
We had an enjoyable dinner. My daughter graduated from UGA today. We don’t live in Athens. This restaurant was just found on Google. Our waitress was Chloe. She made ordering easy. Her suggestions were perfect for everyone. She was knowledgeable, courteous and cheerful. She made our dining experience one of the best I have ever had. I would recommend this restaurant for a memorable experience.
Great food, friendly people. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly. And we interacted with a lot of people. It seems they all work together to help each other out.Since this was our first time bwe asked the server a lot of questions. Everything she guided us to was really good. Grouper nuggets appetizer, hush puppies, and slaw. However the tacos with shrimp was awesome and the blackened artichoke taco will make you want to be a vegetarian.Well definitely be back.
First time going based upon reviews absolutely fantastic menu, oysters were beyond amazing. Drinks and atmosphere cant be beat. Service was on point, the food and the flavors were amazing especially with their in-house hot sauce. Wife got fresh catch of the day which was a red snapper grilled with a special type of sauce that was beyond amazing in taste. Well definitely be going back for dinner or brunch on Sunday!
This was my favorite restaurant when I lived in Athens a few years ago. I went back when I was in town recently and was sad to see the difference. The staff was extremely disengaged. On a slow night, service took forever. The quality of food was very different. The pandemic was rough on restaurants so I hope they can rebound (although there were half a dozen men at the bar bragging about their wealth and their 25 year old model girlfriends so the cash flow probably was still decent) and I can delete this and give them the 5 star review I used to know.
Hands down, this is Athens best seafood restaurant. We typically get shrimp or scallop dishes - the flavors are so perfectly balanced. An amazing and thoughtful staff bring top notch service to this casual Tampa Bay feel atmosphere. This is our go-to spot for special holidays, but also a great stop for a little appetizer and top notch cocktail on their covered deck.
After trying every seafood restaurant in Athens, Marker 7 stands alone as the best. While it can be pricey, the amount of food you get is worth it. I would suggest getting the platter with oysters and grouper (which is stellar). In fact, this is the only thing I get. It can get very busy because of its location so choose times wisely.
Spur of the moment decision to try something new and was not disappointed by any means. Wait staff were extremely pleasant and exceptionally knowledgeable about the food, they answered every question we had and never rushed us to make a decision. Food was super fresh. I ordered the Lemon Sherry Scallops and immediately was lost in memories of Virginia, Maryland, Maine and other coastal places I have visited over the years. The bed of Red Mule Grits were soft and smooth. The scallops like butter! I ordered the grilled fresh asparagus as a side and almost cried for the flavor was just incredible. Every ingredient used was perfection. My husband ordered a half dozen fresh gulf oysrers, buffalo shrimp, slaw and friess and there was no disappointment from his either. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. The patrons were a good mix of folk of all ages. Definitely give this place a try next time you want fresh delicious seafood.
First Time trying Marker 7. The atmosphere was nice, we enjoyed the music, the way the social distancing worked we had no other tables near us. Which was nice. Andrew was great. We were slightly disappointed they were out of Grouper until we got our appetizers and our entrées and everything was so delicious. My husband had the catch of the day blacken, and I had a shrimp and clam strip platter. Everything tasted fresh, was perfectly cooked and tender. I was surprised by the hush puppies. I am not always a fan and these were soft in the middle and crisp on the outside. Perfect for our low-key 13th Anniversary dinner. Good food and perfect mood for us. We will be back.
Our first time here. We will definitely be back. This was best seafood weve had in GA. The house is handicap accessible, but parking might be tricky for a van needing space for a ramp. Also the parking area is on quite a steep hill. Most tables are counter height, but there are 3 or 4 that are regular height. The food was excellent. We had peel n eat shrimp, fried shrimp, fried clams and fried oysters. All were delicious. Also, the roasted sweet potato was wonderful. Im so happy to have found a great seafood place close to home!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our first dinner at Marker Seven! The shrimp on the platter were perfectly seasoned, lightly breaded and delicious! The blackened Snapper Catch of the Day was fresh and tasty. The roasted sweet potatoes were luke-warm but after my telling our server, we were quickly brought piping hot replacements. The bottled beer prices were reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed our outdoor seating and were pleased with their Covid-19 protocol procedures. Our server was FANTASTIC. We WILL return SOON!
I normally dont trust seafood restaurants 400 miles inland, but I will make an exception for Marker 7. Definitely a hidden gem in athens- the grouper basket is excellent, and sometimes they have a market catch like snapper or amberjack, which you can get blackened. Excellent.
The parking is very limited (I had to park across the street in front of a vacant building). As far as the food goes, I had the fish tacos (great flavor and seasonings) , fried green tomatoes were very good, fried sweet potatoes were greasy but tasty. I loved the atmosphere (I ate outside). In spite of the limited parking, they still get 5 stars from me, especially with the food being good, prompt service, and good customer service! I value good customer service!
Great seafood in Athens and the service is great. Every dish I have ordered has been cooked to perfection and the flavors are great. Good place to come for a Sunday lunch or a nice Friday date night. The servers are very attentive and the restaurant doesnt over pack the dining room which keeps the atmosphere a little more intimate in the evenings. Always nicely decorated and they have corn hole out front to play if you have a wait.
They charged us $80 for 2 cocktails and two dozen oysters. Both cocktails were absolutely horrible and served in a plastic cup. The oysters were tiny and left a horrible taste in your mouth all day. This was the most ridiculous price and the worst food and Cocktails Ive had in a very long time. I do not recommend at all.
We had reservations on Valentines day. Our party of 5 was seated immediately upstairs in a room wth a few other tables, so very cozy and quiet. The place was hoping, but service was fantastic, with our casual friendly server greeting us and taking orders, but runners bringing the food as soon as it was ready. The food was top quality with excellent preparations and seasonings. I had the blackened trigger fish, sweet potatoes and cole slaw after a buffalo shrimp appetizer. Unbelievably good! These are relatively simple dishes, but superbly prepared.Being from out of town, we had difficulty parking as the lot was full. I called the restaurant and they suggested a couple alternative spots to park.I highly recommend.
This has become my go to in Athens. I love the food, I always try something new and it never disappoints! I love the calamari and the service is very good. I also like bringing my family members that visit here, the porch is a great place to relax with a delicious cocktail. Highly recommend.I absolutely love this place!! Excellent Bloody Marys. To die for grouper nuggets and oh so good fried oysters and shrimp
Great fresh Southern cooking! The chicken salad was light and tasty. I had a bite of the crab cake sandwich and it was delicious. I was expecting something different, like lots of heavy fried food, but instead was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of our choices. I highly recommend this restaurant! Waitstaff is friendly too. We sat on the patio with our dog and were made to feel very welcomed.
So first off we went in at 2 and waited 25 minutes for steamed oysters. They literally had 4 tables and 2 of us left without receiving all of our food or one left complaining of cold food and having to get up and get all their own condiments. The manager seems to old for the job. Just stands outside being a hostess. The cooks were telling the F word from the kitchen and the bartender was yelling at them about how long it takes to make chicken . The customer sitting at the bar was asking peyton why he was mad and he had a terrible attitude.before the table next to us left they stated how horrible was and not coming back. Before we left we spoke to the manager who gave no response.
Incredibly overpriced for Applebee’s quality. Paid $23 for snapper (that was cooked well at least and the only reason this is two and not one star) covered in “Cajun Sauce”, ie Mayo with seasoned salt (think remoulade but made by an actual baby). Everything was over salted, including the Cole slaw(!). The Cole slaw was over salted, just wanted to say that again. Salad clearly came out the bottom of the bag. Tasted like sadness. Service was a joke. Our server, bless her heart, among other eyebrow raising moments offered us the bill within maybe ohhh let’s say five minutes of being served our entrees. She and the three of four other runners, bussers etc. ignored the dirty knife I was sat with and moved to the edge of the table throughout our meal. All of this would be totally excusable if we’d walked out of there at like 40 or even 50 bucks for our one app, two drinks and entrees, but our total was almost $90!! We honestly found the culmination of the food, service and price hilarious and laughed at what a joke this restaurant is all the way home.
I use to love the way their steak and shrimp tasted. I would always get the grill or fried shrimp with rice and macaroni and cheese.. or I would get the hush puppies with the tarter sauce. Since last year until now this place has went down significantly.. the tarter sauce taste like eggs... The rice still has water in them like Im eating mash potatoes. They had a great staff once before but now I dont know what they are doing. I would enjoy spending my money on the food there n the drinks... Now I rather eat at waffle House across the street. Sorry u guys no more business from me.
Most amazing find Ive found in several years. This place knows real seafood. Growing up on the gulf, we know fresh seafood and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of a off the beaten path coastal restaurant. This place took a little slice of gulf coast heaven and dropped it right in the middle of a north Atlanta town. WOW, is all I can say... a mid afternoon Thursday (typically a slow hohum cook would be working and you wouldnt expect much) and the food was perfection. Reminded me of a local gulf coast family run restaurant with good food, good music, and spectacular service. Everything we ordered was on point: shrimp, calamari, raw oysters (even in off season), the hush puppies were to die for, and nothing fried was over breaded (usually restaurants overbread their seafood and it conceals the natural good flavor), and the fish was out standing! A little more than we had budgeted for but OMG it was so worth it. The horrible part is this place is two hours away from us or I would go every day. Over the top place, you must try if you are ever near this area. Heck we will probably make a special trip here the next time we want REAL Gulf Coast food and atmosphere. On a side note we noticed later on the owner is from Tampa...it all made sense then. The owner has done a perfect job of a true Gulf Coast restaurant and bar. KUDOS to the owner and staff, they had my wife, daughter and I in awe.
Delicious, and great folks! Our server, Mike was super helpful, polite, and informative. He recommended the smoked salmon pimento spread which was amazing. Try it. The entrees were brought out quickly, which is especially impressive as they were busy and it was their first night with a new menu. My only regret was waiting so long to try it! Well be back.
For first time guest this place was exceptional. Our service was amazing from everyone. Our server was Dillon, he was amazing, our food was delicious and generous portions for the money. I ordered chicken strips and my boyfriend orders grouper. Well will definitely be returning real soon
Most miserable restaurant experience in my life. Stood out side for 45 minutes in the cold only to see a couple that arrived after my wife and I get seated inside leaving us no choice but to set outside in the cold. There are heaters but they do very little with wind blowing.
I’ve ridden past Marker Seven dozens of times on the way to school and have always wanted to try it. And though I had big expectations, it did not disappoint! The food was fantastic, and fast. There’s plenty of seating and the service is just like the food. The only complaint I have is that the parking is pretty rough. For a restaurant with plenty of capacity, they have a tiny parking lot. Their prices are also on the high side. But other than that, it’s become one of my favorite restaurants!
I think it is pricy for the amount of food you get. Still left hungry. The bar is small and noisy. Right in the dining area. The outside seating is cozy but noisy too, with traffic at the Five Points crossing. The bartenders seem to be more interested in chatting with regular local customers then serving newcomers. The food is good overall, but small portions for the price you pay. When ordering a cocktail from the bar, make sure to request little ice!!!!! Otherwise, the pack the glass so full with ice, you have very little of a cocktail.
Just as advertised, they bring the feel of a coastal restaurant into Athens. Their smoked salmon pimento cheese spread is yummy. Key lime pie, made in-house, is delicious! Everything was good. Friendly and helpful service and good seafood in an environment with a coastal vibe.
I went here after graduation with my family. The greeter had an attitude saying we should have called and made a reservation. I thought his customer service skills left a bit more to be desired, especially when people come from out of town and perhaps dont know what they want to eat. The server made up for the greeter, because he was polite. I would not go back. The food was okay, but not special.
My husband and I came to enjoy some good seafood and Im always sceptical about eating seafood when I cant see the ocean from my table, but never the less we tried it.We did have to park across the street from the restaurant as they have very limited parking, but there was no wait what so ever when we walked in the door at 7:30pm Tuesday night. The atmosphere here is delightful. Very layed back and kid-friendly (big deal to me as a mother of a two year old.)We ordered the muscles as an appetizer and I was absolutely blown away by how delicious they were. Could have been my entree and I would have left a happy girl.My entree of choice was the shrimp and grits. There was more meat than grits in my opinion and the dish was bursting with flavor! We absolutely loved it here and will be back for sure!!!
Better bring your handkerchief if you plan on dining here ladies and gentlemen because the food is so delicious it’ll bring tears to your eyes! Seriously though the food was amazing service unbeatable and over all atmosphere was relaxed but fun. Would highly recommend the triggerfish sandwich.
As a local, I visit a restaurant 3 times before writing a review. In only 1 of those 3 occasions was I somewhat satisfied with this establishment. Their servers were slow and inattentive. The food isnt any higher quality than your average seafood restaurant, and they seem to fry a lot of items to cover up for freshness. I will not be returning.
Where to even begin with how horrible my experience here was... We waited an hour for our food and watched another table come, order, and leave before we even got our food. When we did finally get our food, it was lukewarm. My grilled fish was overcooked and my broccoli was basically raw. The flavor was fine, it was edible enough but it wasnt worth 20+ dollars. To top if off, when the bill came, they had added an automatic 18% gratuity. We were a low-maintenance table of six and frankly that waitress didnt do anything to earn that kind of tip. We had been there for an hour and a half, of which only 10 minutes was spent eating. So I went up and asked to talk to the manager. I wasnt happy with the wait time, the food or the service, but all I asked is that she remove the automatic gratuity. She acted extremely defensively and started guilt tripping me saying that her poor wait staff was working hard and didnt I know that an hour and half turn around on a table is normal at a nice restaurant (its a grill with paper napkins). I tried to explain the situation, that we had only spent all of 10 minutes eating during that hour and a half, the food wasnt hot, we had watched a table come and go. She basically repeated her argument again without paying attention to what I had said and said since we wouldnt pay for our waitress, she would. By the end of her tirade she was downright rude and belligerent and although, she did return the tip charged to our cards, she slapped the money down on the table when she did so. So in all, the food was subpar and overpriced, and the manager is just plain rude.
They have changed their recipe and menu. My wife and I loved their batter they used to use on the fish but now its fairly bland, and they dont serve the sweet potato chips anymore (they WERE awesome). Unfortunately this will be our last visit. This is another restaurant in Athens that has become mediocre due to menu and recipe (on purpose or accidental) changes.
Decided to go eat at Marker Seven this Sunday evening, we had just dropped son off at his dorm and we were in the area in the mood for seafood. The restaurant seemed busy enough for a Sunday but lots of empty tables, so we anticipated no wait to be seated. While we waited on the hostess, i noticed their hours and they close at 9 pm. It was 8:45 when my husband and I got there. We were told so sorry but our kitchen has closed for the evening. I asked him does the kitchen stay open until 9:00? He said not tonight because we ran out of food. Shouldnt a restaurant thats open until 9 pm seat you up until that time? Then lock the door so no customers enter after 9 pm.Well Marker 7 youre not so great per your other reviews with your rude manager and tacking on 18% gratuity for a table of 6.You just lost another customer.
My friends and I went to here to celebrate two of our friends birthdays. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The experience started off fine until 45 minutes after ordering we still didnt have our food and a table of four who had been seated after us where almost done eating their food. We asked our waitress where our food was at and their manager came over to tell us that it was being plaited right now. She also decided it was necessary to say that the cooking time stamp was 30 minutes. So either she was lying to us or our waitress had put in our order 15 minutes late. Either way our food was not being plaited right then cause we didnt get it until 15 minutes later. On top of that our food was not hot in fact most of it was barely warm. We ate fast since we where trying to make a 9 show and it was already 8:45 by this point, even though we got there at 7:30. We had decided to let it go since it was our friends birthday and it wasnt worth causing a fuss over. But when we got our checks there was an applied gratuity of 18%! We where a table of 6 so we were not a large party and the tip was the only way we wished to express our displeasure. We understood that this was not all the waitresss fault but she wasnt an amazing server so shed didnt deserve an 18% tip to begin with. One of our friends went to complain and this is where the experience went from a bad dinner to the worst restaurant experience of my life. The manager basically wrote my friend off, tried to guilt us into giving the full tip and was out right rude and disrespectful to us. We were not demanding free food or any kind of compensation for the late and cold food, we just didnt want to pay an 18% tip. The manager also tried to tell us that at 7:30 on a Friday night its normal for people to be here for an hour and a half. Yeah if at least 40 of those minutes is spent eating. We spent maybe 10 minutes eating as I said earlier. She finally said she would take off the tip and she would cover whatever we didnt pay, which was fine, we actually admired the fact that she wanted to take care of her wait staff but what we didnt appreciate was her attitude to us. A little later she comes over and tells us that the system wont allow them to remove the tip so here is the tip in cash, shes paying it for us and proceeds to through the money down on the table and stomp off. I have never been treated worse at a restaurant and will never be coming back.
I just finished throwing up the lunch I had here. Mightve been the oysters, mightve been the grouper. Either way, lunch was just as bland coming up as going down. The two star rating is solely for the dessert. I had the chocolate bourbon pecan pie and it was the only redeeming quality about this restaurant.
Went out to eat with my fiance and young daughter. The hostess was very polite and we were told their would be a 15 minute wait which is fine. Just to see 2 groups of college age kids with the same table number of 2 people get seated before useven though they arrived after us. Needless to say we left and had dinner elsewhere. And this was the restaurants second chance for us. My fiance with with a friend to have drinks. When she asked the waitress what their wine selection was the waitress told my fiance to get up and go ask the bartender because she didnt know. Poor staff and poor service they will not get another try from us.
Very disappointed in meal today. I ordered shrimp basket with hush puppies and crispy fries. The fries were wilted and the hush puppies were burned. When I mentioned this to the manager her said well u asked for crispy I said crispy fries not burned hush puppies he said o ok. Thats the last I saw of them till check came. Not even refilling drinks were managed.
Food was just ok but I thought it was over priced.. Considering all the other choices we have in the Athens area I would not choose this place again. I felt it was over priced for what it was. Again the food was good but not for the price. I would picked any of a number of places to go in the same area before I went back here.

2022-02-02Very laid back place but the food was Top Shelf...I ordered Shrimp Pesto and chose it over Shrimp and Grits...And it was an excellent decision...Now Im wondering how good the grits/Shrimp would have been...The girls got Crusted Mahi and Fresh catch with sweet potatoes and Mac and Cheese...We all came away stuffed yet very happy with our choices

2021-12-29Excellent food. Blackened salmon sandwich was reminiscent of coastal fare. Service was great and reasonably priced. Outdoor patio area was nice leave to relax and enjoy a spicy Bloody Mary.

2022-04-11Fantastic food, friendly staff, and decently priced. Large portions, so we shared appetizers for the table on our second visit.

2022-03-09My husband and I ate here for our 20th wedding anniversary. The food was very good. Not too overly priced. I loved the shrimp taco and the hush puppies were very good. Husband got the basil poblano shrimp pesto, he said it was great. We would eat here again. Parking can be a bit crowded but wouldn’t stop me from coming back.
