They need someone who can count. If I order a 3 piece they give me 2. Need to take time with their orders and make sure they are right. Too many careless mistakes to name them all👎🏾👎🏾😞
Food was amazing there is no wonder why there is a line around the building most days. From the fry time on the chicken being perfect to the sweet heat notes of the Buffalo sauce and the perfect crunch of tater tots with just a hint of an onion seasoning ..the coleslaw some of the best i ha e ever had ...perfect sweetness and not too dry at all...the food is worth the visit and the line its one of those hidden gems in a local community that we should all support
Only thing I had to eat all day was the chicken wings and the fried green tomatoes... I GOT SICK!!!! could have come from dirty grease or it could have come from the young lady that kept licking her fingers and bagging food.
My friends and I had a great experience here! We ordered a pint of a combination of liver and gizzards and an 8 piece thigh deal. Altogether, it was about $14. We loved the food and we didnt have to wait in line long! We will probably order from here again!

I grew up on this chicken. How pleasantly surprised I was to see one in Albany, Ga on a business trip. My coworkers were game so we had it on our way back out of town. It was fresh, hot and fantastic!!! Just how I remember...keep in mind, they are cooking your food when you order, so be patient... thats the Marylands Chicken way... Enjoy and dont forget the hot sauce
Had the grouper, mac and cheese and the tator tots. Had to wait about 15 minutes, but the food was worth it. Fish was nice and flaky, tots were crispy and the mac was delicious and creamy.
I’m not sure what is going on but they must have hired some new cooks because my catfish was horrible. I had one that wasn’t fully cooked at all, I couldn’t even pull the meat from the bone, the other was almost cooked like they took it out the grease too soon. The fried green tomatoes had no seasoning and were too hard. I’ve eaten from there plenty of times and the food would be on point. But these last two times, it’s not. And maybe it’s just the catfish and fried green tomatoes they can’t get rite anymore. And I was too far away to take it back. Once again, maybe it’s just the catfish and green tomatoes the cook can’t get rite.
Extremely slow and my chicken was a little to salty and dry.

I went to the Marylands Fried Chicken yesterday (8/2/2021) on MLK Drive and the cashier swapped my card for my order but she also swapped my card using her square on her phone. This is call theft. My meal cost me $58.90. It is a sad day in America when we partonize a business in good faith and then have one of the employees steal your money. I reach out to the manager and was told to call him at 2 today and needless to say he is not answering his phone. Leads me to think something not so postive. She premeditated that theft, because she had her phone out and ready for someone like me to come through. I was trying to give them today to make things right, so I guess I have to get the police involved. Please BEWARE!!!!!
Food is good but customer service is horrible. They always have you wait at the speaker for 10 minutes and never acknowledge you. I promise I won’t be back here I went right up the road to hip hop chicken and got car side service immediately.
Food was very good. However, the Infrastructure could use some major upgrades, such as repaying the lot. Due to these issues, the restaurants borderlines on having a dirty feel.
Came home to visit so I stop by Maryland to get some buffalo strips and they were not what my mouth was watering for. The strips didnt taste the same at all. I ordered double fries and some of my fries were hot and fresh while the rest were cold and old. This was an awful Maryland experience for me. I was super disappointed. I shouldve known something when I realized they had an 85 on their inspection.
ALBANY, GA, on Slappy near Krispy Kreme Donuts/Staples ...I went there and a lady with very long blondish Brown hair was preparing my food without a hairnet..when I went ...it looked as if they were in a meeting inside..which was holding up service. I can take them or leave them..
Food is good. Gizzards is the best in the chicken business. They had no MFC boxes but take out boxes. Why is that?

My chicken was burned and my tater tots was soft and soggy, I was not satisfied with my food, I did not check it until I got home. I wish I would have check it before I left the restaurant to exchange or get my money back.

I stopped at the Slappey location on Sunday(09/27/20) and ordered a 12 piece chicken only on the way to my Dads 84th Birthday dinner. I requested the chicken cooked to order which they did. I get home taste my chicken and it was cooked in old burnt grease!!! I am out of nearly 20 bucks and no one will eat it. We live in north Lee County( 30 mins away). Never again will stop at this location again.
My experience was great. I was in line to order, I was reading and forgot to order. The window worker told that was alright she took my order, while I waited on the side. She brought my food out. It was good and hot.

Service was friendly but food is terrible. Chicken was dried out and crusty and the mac and cheese doesnt seem to have any cheese at all in it. The slice of cheap dry white bread was a pathetic excuse for a biscuit or toast.

Poor service. Waited in line with 2 cars ahead of me for 17 minutes. When I got to the window, the girl ask if she can help me. I said that I just needed to get my food. She said that I had not ordered! But, I did, so then she said I didnt talk to her. When I got my order, she just handed it out the window and didnt say anything. I hate it when they cant say something nice or just a simple thank you. But she couldnt say anything at all! She should try a little harder, because, from what I saw, Id say she isnt very employable & certainly doesnt give a damn about keeping her customers or her job!
I ordered the 12 piece mix family meal. It was delicious! The staff were very friendly, the only thing was that was theres a little bit of a wait, but the staff communicated that well and gave my daughter a free drink for the wait! Overall it was a good experience.
After having lived away from my home town, Albany, GA for several years, I thought I would stop by MFC to get a couple of pieces of that great seasoned chicken that I remember from back in the day, but it turns out that its NOT as great as I remember😔. People say nothing is the same anymore. There are cut backs on everything! The chicken wasnt horrible, its just that it was very bland, and my expectations were high.
Could eat it everyday. Gotta get the slaw and tots. It all just goes together!

Food cooked in old grease just nasty
My last meal at Maryland. They have a new speaker system with a note, Use Your Outside Voice. Outside, inside doesnt matter, took four tries to get her to understand, two pieces of chicken and an order of Tots. Tater Tots and chicken tasted like it was fried in OLD fish grease. Tea was on the verge of sour. I literally threw away $8.00 worth of food as it was not edible. The time before this one was no better but I thought, bad day give it another try and I did. Will NOT be going back.

Carrie was the best hands down. She was always smiling very energetic and always a positive person to be around she never messed our food up and the if someone else did shed always step up and make sure we left satisfied. We hate she had to leave but I know this girl will go far
The food was nice and fresh but the building needs major repairs. If you decide to dine in, heads up because the ceiling looks like it could cave in if a major storm comes in. The service was ok and been they had a good bit of options to choose from. It wasnt busy and the wait time wasnt bad. I would probably give it another try if repairs are done to this establishment.
Haven’t eaten there in about 15 years because it was filthy, have friends that here and friends that live nearby and try and give it a chance from time to time,but every time it never changes, the place is filthy and the food is awful
Always go there for my favorite, fried chicken livers. Always freshly cooked. Only negative comment would have to be the wait time. That being said, sign on wall does state, THEY ARE NOT A FAST FOOD ESTABLISHMENT, so be prepared to wait (especially if there are customers ahead of you). Next time I think Ill try a phone in order.
I am a grub hub delivery driver. The employees at this location are awesome. Especially Ryan. Customer service is a top priority here. I recommend THIS restaurant to everyone.
Disappointed in todays visit. Ordered a gizzard dinner with okra. Tasted like its fried in old grease and gizzards were all huge, and half fried. Total waste of my coins today Maryland. And I had to pull up and wait which I didnt mind but I had a little more time on my lunch break to wait a little longer and have some fully cooked food at least... disappointed
First order they gave me wrong. Second order wrong. The two ladys up front today. Are lost. Food prices has went up and sides got smaller. Only bread they had was walmart slice bread. I paid for 3 extra rolls and got bread. Guess I bought three loafs for the . Very dissatisfied. every food joint in albany is starting to fall of . Just wish Marylands wouldnt have been one of them.

While this may not look like a good place or a familiar chain that you know, do not be fooled! If you like good ole down-home fried fish and chicken, this is your place. Try the catfish and the amazing grouper. The service is excellent with a friendly staff.

Very good food. But it is made to order so you may have a bit of a wait. Also, restrooms are outside and behind the bldg. The key is attached to a big object. So dont plan on using the restroom or wash your hands.

Ordered a liver dinner with mac n cheese and okra, breast combo with tots and a half pint of livers. I didnt get the liver dinner instead received a gizzard dinner the liver was way over cooked and the chicken was dry. I called and called and called, no one answered the phone or it sounded like it was picked up and hung up. This was awful. I will not be going back.
Tots were old, the lemon pepper seasoning was poured on top of my strips. This place doesnt taste the same. I dont think its managed by the same people.
Bad. Real bad. Menu is so confusing. Whats the difference between a snack and a combo and a dinner? The menu doesnt say, so unless youre from here, you have to start your order by asking what is what. I got the Breast combo with tots. Chicken was so over cooked, breading was hard as a rock, meat was dry and crumbly. Needed three refills of dew to wash the one tiny tiny LITTLE breast down. And there was no ice, so soda was warm. Gross. Wife got shrimp dinner, slaw and mac and cheese. Slaw was more dressing than cabbage. Mac over cooked. Just more like cheese and slime. Breading on shrimp was so salty neither one of us could eat it. Had to pull the breading off. But at least once we got to the shrimp, that was good. So they get one star.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER RECEIVED. I placed an order for a pint of gizzards and after about 8 minutes of waiting I asked how much longer was the wait time. I was advised about 6 minutes because my order was never put in. I advised the manager Macrina that I did not have time to wait and I would like a refund. She advised me that they did not give refunds and I could either leave or wait on my food. I told her that they couldnt just refuse to give me my money back. She said their policy is no refunds. I advised again that they hadnt given me anything, so really they are just taking my money. She said I could wait or leave. I asked for a manager, she said she was the manager. I asked for the owner, she said his name was Jason and he was on vacation so I would have to wait until Friday and call back to the store. Sure enough, I left and she refused to give me a refund and kept my money.I WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS AGAIN.
Gave 1 star because I cant give a zero. Ordered 2pc catfish dinner in drive thru. Took 35 minutes to get it from the time order was placed. 10 min to get to window after placing order then after paying was told to pull up and park.....where i waited another 15 min before going inside to see about a refund since i was on my work lunch hour.They apparently have this problem alot because theyve adopted a no refund policy. So I had no choice but to wait. The cashier inside told me it takes 15 min to cook catfish fillets. Hmmm...thats ridiculous but even so it took you guys 35 min to get it to me so what happened there? If you wont give refunds then you shouldnt take money until you have the food ready. On top of that it was ironically overcooked. Paid $10 for bad food & bad service. Will not be going back there.

I am a very valuable costumers, Everytime I walk in they know what I would like to order also I love vinegar with my chicken and the owner will gladly run to a near by store and grab me a bottle if they are out. Its small town businesses like this that make my heart melt. I hope they keep up their awesome tasting food experiences.
This is a review of the maryland fried chicken on Oakridge.THIS IS THE WORST RESTAURANT IN ALBANY!!!!!!and thats saying something.My boyfriend ordered a 3 piece whiting meal with 2 pc. White chicken meal with 2 sodas.He only got the whiting meal after paying $16.56!When he asked for the money back, the cashier was like , No refunds!And threatened to call police when he complained.The fish was overcooked, tasteless, unseasoned, nasty and full of bones.And after waiting 30 minutes, it was also cold.The mac and cheese tasted like it was made with spoiled cheese.So if you like nasty food with equally nasty employees, this is the place for you.I will NEVER go there again. EVER.

We have been disappointed in the chicken in the past, but tonights catfish supper was delicious. Fish,tator tots and hush puppies will cooked perfect and the cole slaw was tasty too. We called in advance but still had to wait. Looks like business is pretty good here..
Fish was great. The sides could be better. with the fish bring as good as it is you expect more from the to he sides. Staff is nice and friendly. Parking is a challenge and the building could use some upgrades.

My grandmother loves the fish from this restaurant. I tried it for myself. The fish was great. The tots were cold. The potato salad was good but the portion was small.

Got the liver and gizzard combo. This business is always good, except this time. They were fried dark. The livers were...ok, but the gizzards were cooked dry all the way thru. I had left the area and and did not want to go back. Maybe some people like them dark, but I could not eat them.

The absolute best breakfast biscuit youll ever have. The hours can be unexpected (Theyre now closed on Mondays in addition to Sundays), and they only take cash. The drive-thru line is often backed to the road, and with good reason.
Very rude !!!!!After making me wait for my food I had to go in to get it because it took so long. Got back to car and the order was wrong! The same chicken I was in the hot sun for. I go in to inform the lady of the error she takes the plate (with an attitude) and slams the correct order in a new plate(be very stingy with the tots). I have tried calling managment but no answer. I will never eat here again!!!!

Buffalo strips are the best chicken strips Ive ever had and thats including any major/large franchise Ive ever eaten at across the world. Always fresh, hot, juicy. The cashiers are friendly as well (Major plus) in this time and day.

I use to love Marland,s. Its not the same anymore.. was craving some tots and went thru drive thru at the one on slappey and order on the speaker that was difficult to understand her.. waited about 20 mins to get up to window then sat there and watched as they helped all the customers inside ; then the girl saw at window and was surprised I was there . She opens window and said what was your order i forgot what it was.. . I told her never mind and drove off.
Mistakes happen but the way they tried to correct there mistake after my time and gas was spent driving back from my home was unprofessional and not worth the effort. Not even a single apology. I will not patronize a business that has there workers working in sweltering kitchen(no air conditioning) ! Im from New York and this establishment is a prime example of slumlords milk money out there business without even putting money back in to maintenance and s real place to for the family.
Great food! Sometimes they take too long to prepare your food, and other customers get their food before you. I recommend the fried chicken and the livers.

The chicken was good, but it is not the same flavor as in the past. The last time I had chicken here was about 3 years ago while I was in town visiting family. I went again two days ago and was so disappointed. Again, the chicken was good, but it was the flavor I was looking for.

Just left the drive thru. The young lady would not ecen allow us to finish my order. She was rushing us. Then had to wait 10 minutes in the drive thru while the the young lady was on her person cell phone talking outloud even though the glass. My husband and I heard her conversation from electric bill to why so and so wont help with bills. When she finally open the glass with our food, my husband told her how unprofessional she was. She in turn says to call uer manager. Oh yes we will be calling Scott.

It was Christmas Eve so they were extremely busy. Normally when we go home Marylands is a MUST stop to eat place. After a unusual 45 minute wait, I was upset to get back to my room and the chicken was still bloody. This has never happened before but I was upset.
This place has the worst customer service, would not listen to my order and made me repeat it three times and still couldn’t get the order correct. Therefore prompting me to just leave since they seemed to not be able to listen properly and take an order.

My husband and I decided to eat at Marylands and I hate that we stop at this place. I had ordered liver and Gizzard mix the dinner. My liver was cook to hard and the green beans had to much pepper on it. I was unsatisfied with my order.

OK PEOPLE, BUCKLE UP! Being from Baltimore i had to come try a place called Md Fried Chx. Dont know where the name came from but: this chx was so good it taste like it came from Lexington Market the Entire 90s (bmore ppl understand). This chx was so good it taste like a lady named Ms.Cynthia with the swollen ankles is in the back Frying. It looks like they have a Pro Miami spray tanner hitting the chx before they give it to you. If they gave out split top or KINGS HAWAIIAN ROLLS they would need security in there and their profits would triple. The chx was so good i saw colonel Sanders and the popeyes lady putting on ski mask getting ready to get that receipe. Im changing my cheat day to Tues so when Im in this area...i wont feel bad lol. C U next week.
The best chicken strips in town hands down the best time to go is at lunch when everything is fresh cause its so busy the wait time has been better than in the past and the food quality has improved if you dont believe me just go and ask to sample a buffalo strip I bet you have to buy some

I ordered a large tot an some chicken and the tots were all broken up and it took over 30 minutes and the chicken was raw and the staff looked unprofessional and nasty and there was grease upon the floor where I am handicapped and was afraid tstep without something to hold on to also the staff were using cell phones and were putting there on needs above the customer.... from now on I have a will use other chicken restaurants that put the needs and safety of the patrons first.I have always been a faithful customer of Maryland fried chicken for over 30 years and this experience is appalling...
The staff is nice but I hate parking behind a restaurant, just to walk up front to enter building. The drive-thru was a little littered and had a line wrapped round the building. I spent almost 12 mins waiting on 3 wings... Smh

VERY UNSATISFIED.... Customer service was horrible .. Waited over 25 mins for food that was called in 20 mins before arrival.. Thats my last time spemding money here.!!!!

Marylands chicken is the balm esp especially when it fresh cooked to order. When Marylands was without power they grilled out front and feed the neighborhood very impressive .
Food is good not too pricey. Also their fried green tomatoes are delicious.

My wife and I both had the grouper sandwich combo for lunch. We were both happy with the sandwich and the service was friendly and good.
The fied catfish fingers are a must however the fried green tomatoes are a hit and miss.

Went to Marylands and was very disappointed staff was on personal phone calls and i ordered grouper plate and wait time was unreal finally got my food went home to only find the fish was so over cooked it crumbled in the plate by the time I got through all the crust there was no fish will never eat there again.

2021-10-08I give a 5 star purely because I believe in Maryland’s. Been eating it for 33 years now I believe. Fried Green tomatoes and Liver Gizzards Combo is my go to. Love it. The bag smells so good, I can’t hardly wait to get home. Tater tots for the win and the prices are fair. Speed is decent as well. I like the additions they throw in like Smoked Ribs.Today I went and got the usual but wanted to try mashed potatoes. They were HORRIBLE. Please go try KFC & Church’s mash then taste yours and you’ll see the difference. Mashed potatoes tasted like paper bags. I never order other people slaw because I know they should be able to make instant mash taste well.I still give Maryland’s a 5 because everything else was great. The Customer service was Great at the service window, she talks like we’re family.

2022-06-13Buffalo strip meal was horrible. I go here everytime I come to Albany. The last two times I have went were poor. This last time was horrible. The buffalo strip sauce taste different it was nasty. The chicken strips were skinnier than my index finger they were so crispy and hard I couls not eat them. The food quality is goibg down from the last two times I have visited. The buffalo strip sauce was barely there. I waited almost 30 minutes in line for food that I threw in the trash. I am not sure if they have new management or ownership but the food was horrible a total waste of time and money.

2022-03-24Chicken taste like oil is burnt and needs to be changed, Ordered a four piece with Side and added okra as a second side. Got four pieces of chicken with no sides tried to call for two days no answer very disappointed this restaurant has went down hill!

2020-11-17There are few places whose food takes me back to my childhood years with a smile. The gizzards were amazing. They reminded me of sitting on the tailgate with my mom, and Ive tried gizzards from all over Albany and never had that joy before.The boneless spare ribs (think thats what they were) were great.Tl;dr‐if you want good food, stop in.

2022-04-18It doesnt do any good to order what you want at this marylands, cause they are going to give you want they want you to have. I ordered a 2 peice white dinner and extra breast. They gave me 2 wings in place of the extra breast. Then the lady argued with me saying we gave you 2 wings. I didnt ask for 2 wings. I will not be back

2019-02-10The highs: The best part of the meal was the fish! Ordered the grouper and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My group ordered tilapia and no complaints there also. Customer service was very nice and staff was inviting. Loved the opening to the kitchen where you could watch your food being cooked. The lows: The building was old and inside desperately needed some repairs (the ceiling tiles that were probably as old as the town). The sides were mostly a miss. Potato salad unknowingly tasted as if it contained meat. Baked beans were actually pork and beans and the fries were fries. Overall review: Good.

2020-09-21Maryland fried chicken was fresh and hot tonight and the customer service was quite satisfactory. Unfortunately, theyre a hit or miss. Sometimes I have great experiences and other times it can be mediocre to terrible.I did notice quite a few new faces on their staff, so hopefully that means more consistency in good customer service and great food quality. I look forward to my next visit.
