Massage Envy in other cities:
The massages are great in every way.Love the community & support.I had a monthly membership for several years. The massages were great. and front office desk for check in are great. However, have some concerns. I cancelled in January for several reasons and now have had three months in a row of them debiting my account, and reversing the charge.I contacted them directly 4+ times, filed a claim with BBB and FTC for the fact that they can not succeed in removing all my financial and account information from their system. I am now filing this review.I called three months in a row with no owner calling, no manager, and no one taking care of this situation. For all this hassle and time wasted you would think someone would have done something (and several emails) with a multi million dollar business that is national. It seems they changed systems and failed to test proper data transfers.Lessons learned.
Wonderful experience! This was my first time at a Massage Envy and I loved my massage therapist Shirley. She was very friendly, tentative to my needs, and she gave a very good, firm massage. If deep tissue is what you need, she is the one to get. She has years of experience and is as nice as can be. The rest of the front desk staff was very friendly and accomodating as well. For such a last minute visit, I couldnt be happier!
This location is a freaking disaster. Theyre rude, clueless, and condescending. Most of the locations Ive been involved with give you a reminder call. My daughter has been going to this location for convenience purposes. She was scheduled for an appointment today at 5:00. They called her at 5:40 to ask if she was coming. I realize that we as adults we should be responsible and keep up with our appointments, however other massage offices, and doctors offices, etc always make reminder calls. We are both members who have monthly fees deducted and have been with Massage Envy for quite a while. Their Manager is a POS with a chip on her shoulder and she basically told my daughter that they are keeping the fee which is deducted automatically from my credit card and she loses this months massage. Their front desk cant even do their job right much less add in a phone call reminder. So much for customer service and trying to keep customers with monthly memberships happy. I am definitely looking for another massage company and and canceling our monthly membership. I feel torn because the location that I go to in Marietta does not do business that way. I could understand if this was a habitual practice to continually no-show but thats not the case.
I had a great massage here but the massage time was about 10-15 minutes shorter than what I paid for, even accounting for the initial setup. Accidentally left my id there and didn’t think to ask for it after coming out of a massage. So I came by later in the day during their posted hours and they were closed over an hour before their advertised close time. It’s not the end of the world but definitely less than professional.
This place is terrible!!!! Do NOT go here!!! The massages are awful. They ask you for a debit card so they can charge your card random amounts every month. I’ve called and called and called and Tl was told this would be fixed months ago. They are still charging my card $120 a month for a service I NEVER signed up for. They never answer the phone at the Buckhead Loop location. This place is a SCAM!!!!
Really great customer service, easy to get an appointment and top quality massages and facials. I highly recommend this location!Crystal is top notch at skincare and facials. Highly knowledgeable and doesn’t try to sell you things you don’t need. I’ve been to her twice now and my skin is glowing, already booked my next appointment!Edit: I got a massage by Brandon, the shorter blonde Brandon, and I specifically said my backside area should be excluded, yet he gave me a 50 min butt cheek massage. I literately didn’t even know what to say. I shouldn’t have let it happen, but I was so tired from work I almost didn’t care. My friends got a good laugh out of it, but this is just straight up creepy and not acceptable, he stepped over the line and he should not have focused a massage on a body part I asked to be excluded. Whatever you do, don’t book with Brandon. There is a Brandon who used to work there who is awesome and does lymphatic massages, but this is not him. Stay away. Also, the last massage Therapist I had about a month prior massaged the wrong shoulder once I told her I pulled something on the other side. I tried to correct her, but nope, she kept going on the wrong side. Waste of time.Seems like the quality is declining, which is the issue with most other massage envy’s around the country. If you want an awkward 45 min butt massage, ask for Brandon (not talking about the tall thin Brandon).
Watch out if you buy gift certificates for someone.Last Christmas December of 2018 I went in to this Massage Envy location to buy my girlfriend a 90 minute massage and when I went to purchase the card they were running a $75 special on 90 minutes. My girlfriend decided to redeem the massage before this Thanksgiving 2019 in which she had an enjoyable session with “Tarzan”. When she went to check out, the person at the desk told my girlfriend that she owed $15 more towards the massage certificate as “ it was only purchased for $75 and the fee is $90”. My girlfriend tried to argue the fact that the card said 90 minutes and it was paid for so it didn’t matter what they are saying. So after a couple of minutes going back and fourth she went ahead and paid the $15 which was funds she intended to use as a tip for “Tarzan”. So basically they did not honor what I initially paid for the gift certificate. That is bad business and is actually cheating the customer. If they had a problem with what was paid for the gift certificate, then they should of honored it and dealt with it on their end.I hope the manager or even better the owner gives the $15 to “Tarzan “ and corrects the employee who did this.
The facility scheduled my guest and me for a couples massage although I NEVER requested such a massage. This faux pas was very embarrassing. Additionally, the massage started 8 minutes late but ended right on time.In the front desk workers zeal to sell a membership, he overbilled for the massage. I specifically told him that I did not want the membership and was trying to pay for the services before my guest finished dressing and came out to the lobby. But due to the workers mistake, the entire overbilling fiasco unfolded right in front of my guest. Again, embarrassing.I was told that the entire amount for the massage had been credited back to my account. The manager further requested that I inform her once the refund was reflected on my account so that she could re-run it for the correct amount. The next day the manager sent an email where she essentially threatened to run my card again for the correct amount of the services even though no refund had reflected on my account. In other words, I was going to be charged twice for the same services.I responded to the managers email and told her that the incorrect charge had not been refunded and had actually gone from pending to posted. After sending that email, I called the next morning. I spoke to a different brand manager that confirmed that the incorrect charge had never been credited back to my account.Given the many errors surrounding this one visit, I felt compelled to contact the headquarters about the situation. Finally my account was righted and management offered me 2 $50 massages as recompense. As you can imagine, I have not taken them up on this offer.
People working at the front desk need more training. They wont look you in the eye, say hello or thank you. This is the 3rd time my partner and I go for a massage as regular members of Massage Envy and every time we have to repeat our information and wait for them to find our reservations which is very unprofessional and a little bit stressing just before you get a massage. Please take the time to better train your personal.
Awful, went in for a couples massage to use my free encahncement, did not get enhancement and still was charged for full price. Also Rudy is one of the worst massage therapist I’ve ever been with. Elbow and Forearm the whole time. Using her hand on my feet was like a 5 year old doing it.Update: After talking to the Manager, Casey, I have found that this place as no respect for Active Duty soldiers and is only here to milk money from its customers regardless of the issue.
Customer service is a sham- They make promises they dont keep. Ive cancelled my membership and non-renewed 7 times. They keep promising I wont get charged but IVE BEEN CHARGED $60 FOR 6 EXTRA MONTHS AND I HAVENT EVEN GONE. They wont give my money back. First it was a system glitch in February. If I could sue these scammers I would.
I completely agree with Claudios assessment of the people at the front desk. In addition to that, they are really heavy on trying to sell additional products. The front desk aside, the rest of my visit to this Massage Envy was good. I was in Atlanta for a business trip and had built up the usual muscle stress of travel. Theo did a fantastic job of releasing the knots and tension. If I go back to this Massage Envy, I would definitely schedule a session with Theo.
I was visiting Atlanta for a few days and having horrible middle back pain. It was making my trip here miserable. I called this location to see if they were accepting any walk in customers ASAP. I was able to get an appointment 45 minutes later with David. He was GREAT at massaging my back and easing the pain. Thank you!
I wish I could give them more stars but they just fall short in every area. Their front desk/ managerial operations is my biggest issue. No one gives the same answer or solution, they aren’t overly customer service focused and I feel like they lack structure all together. I don’t have a specific reason to not go back but I don’t have a reason to continue my membership either.
I ordered the advertised showing on this picture and thecashier said the price is only for 1. I was hungry so I said ok. while I was eating I kept on looking at the sign and finally before leaving I ask to speak to the manager and told her that they are running a false advertisement. I told her what the cashier had told me and she goes, you have to ask for it. I think even a 3rd grader can read what this sign means.Be careful if ever you go to this location.

2022-02-22Earlier this month I called to cancel an appointment before the 24 hour cutoff, and the person I talked to confirmed it was cancelled. The next day I got a nasty call about missing my appointment and was informed I would be charged for it. I told her I did what I was supposed to do and as such shouldnt be penalized for their employees mistake. Also told her to have the manager call me the next day to discuss, but -spoiler alert- I never got a call back. I wont be returning to this location unless they refund the credit they stole from me.

2022-04-12I went by the location to cancel Membership because I relocated. They informed me I had to cancel via email. I did that but wasnt given any specifics. I emailed them requesting cancelation. They replied a day later asking for my phone number to cancel Membership. Of course I didnt see email. They charged me for another month and wont refund me money. The problem is why not just type in my name since I gave it to you in the email and why do I have to email and cancel when I was standing directly where the email was going. I dont like gimmicks when it comes to my money. It was a simple request which now cost them a customer. Its not much to them Im sure but its everything to me. Buyer please beware of businesses like these.

2022-05-15So clearly the complaints about this particular Massage Envy, get the same response, and directed to a Facebook site. If this location is your first experience, it will forever taint your impression of this company. Just so happens, this was the straw that broke the 🐫 back. Since moving to this state in 2018, Ive had far too many bad experiences with reputable companies. Empire Carpet did not live up to their standards, extremely poor workmanship, MAACO is the all time worst paint job EVER, now Massage Envy. The absolute worst thing is, when you call their corporate number, they either lie about a manager contacting you, or you are sent in circles until you give up. Thats 3 strikes, Im out.

2022-05-21Each location is a separate franchise. So theyre not consistent from one to another. Also Ive been trying to put my membership on freeze for 2 weeks and they never call back. Think of it as the Walmart of Massage

2021-12-24I’ll begin with the positive aspects of this location. My masseuse, Ruth, was very good! Pleasant to chat with and very professional. The location always seemed clean and was conveniently located. For the past year, they have not had enough help. There is never a manager or owner on hand….never. The receptionists are usually cordial and driving there , in person, is about the only way to make an appointment. They do not answer their phones and their computer system never has any appointments available, probably from blocking time for new customers, as opposed to finding appointments for paying customers. I made 3 tries to make an appointment on their AWFUL computer program, then called and had to leave a message. 48 hours later I received a return call and made the appointment, but when I showed up today (on time) the doors were locked. Several minutes later one of the therapists let me in asking if I needed to wait inside? Then she went on to tell me she was the only one there and I did not have an appointment. Thinking I may have confused the dates, I asked if she could look up when the appointment was supposed to be. She said no, she couldn’t do that and I would have to call the manager…what manager leaves a storefront unattended and locked during business hours? After 4 years of being a loyal customer, it’s become apparent that they do not value regular clients, only new relationships.I understand that this industry was hurt badly by the poor handling of Covid by our many governments. I also understand that they can’t get decent help because of the entitlement problems of the working public in Atlanta. It’s also the lack of consistent management and oversight of across the board quality control. Pitiful and no longer worth paying for the privilege of NOT having access to the services they have sold.

2021-06-08The communication is poor. Called the day before to confirm, I didnt answer so they canceled. I have a monthly membership from a spa out of state. I go in to find out my reservation was canceled and that it was policy. I worked with the manager to see if I could come back. I was next on a call back list and they never called online shoes an available appointment.Based on the interaction I would not go back. However the massage from the prior month was great. They definitely know how to make you feel unwelcome, and they do no care about your needs. Over book, make customers upset.

2021-02-08We had an excellent experience at this location. We both have memberships with this chain and when we travel we usually try to set up couples massages if we can. We called pretty last minute (think day before) and werent sure wed even be able to schedule anything. We were lucky and there was a cancellation and we were able to get squeezed in for hour long sessions. We showed up at our scheduled times and were warmly greeted by the front staff who checked us in digitally on their tablets. We were soon after greeted by our massage therapists and taken back to a shared couples room. Our local location doesnt have a couples room so this was a great surprise! The sessions were great and we both really liked our therapists. They worked sections we specified needed help and they used the type of pressure requested. Hubs prefers a more relaxing massage, I prefer a deep tissue massage.Overall: AHappy to have found this location close to our hotel and they were great working us into a good time slot. Very relaxing sessions!

2021-10-05Do not get a membership with Massage Envy. Their service has gotten incredibly bad in the past few years. Very few appointments are available and you end up racking up sessions that you cannot use and if you do manage to book a session somehow, some of the therapists cut them short to 40 mins and not give you the full 50 mins. At the Buckhead Loop location, I even had a therapist refuse to see me for a session that I booked through the app. I have never encountered such unprofessional customer service anywhere. I will be informing all my friends and family to stay away from this franchise. Ive been a member for close to 10 years and they will be losing me very soon.

2021-04-23Joshua is the absolute best with his hands! I have gotten the hot stones treatment here several times. The second time, I arrived 10 mins early but didnt get into the room until 5 mins after my appointment. Small inconvenience here but the service is great.

2020-02-18I had a great massage and when I was checking out the front desk offered me a $40 membership rate instead of the $60 intro price. So, I signed up because I was told there was no cancellation fee and that it will just be to $40 and I can cancel at any time. Then when I called to cancel I was told I was to email them, so I did. I got a phone call from the manager saying that I will be charged $60 the intro price because I cancelled three days later (of course this was never disclosed when I was signing up). I Advised her that I will not be paying the $60 because that’s not what I was told. I was told it would be $40 no matter if I kept it or cancelled it. So, instead of them just being cordial about it I got nothing but attitude. So I will not be going back to this location. I feel that they need to be upfront and honest with their customers instead of trying to sell something knowing that its something else. It’s sad that they will argue down to the bone about something that one of their representatives told you. So, if you plan on joining membership and getting the $40 membership rate please be aware if you cancel you will be charge that initial $60 fee if you do not plan on take keeping it. Again I will not be going back to this location.
