Very outdated and the bathroom was sketchy. There is a lot of rusty fixtures in the bathroom, doesn’t look clean, and the toilet did not appear to be clean(also rusty). It feels like we were given a bad room compared to the other reviews. Just feels like a real cheap motel and I’m not comfortable sleeping here tonight. Hoping to change rooms tomorrow but we got in late tonight and are too tired to request a change.
The people that work there go out of their way to make your stay excellent. The rooms are extremely clean. They have a wonderful breakfast as well to start the day. I definitely recommend Merry Acres Inn and when visiting Albany Georgia again will stay there for sure.
I was not at all pleased with Merry Acers in. Their mattresses are old. The filter in their air conditioning unit was extremely dirty causing the air conditioner not to work properly. We were hot the whole time. The rooms were nasty and not properly cleaned. It was dusty. When I walked on the wood floors barefoot, my feet were black from nasty, uncleaned floors. The evening lady at the front desk was very friendly but the morning lady at the front desk was very ugly acting. I left that place sneezing with a runny nose. I had caught a cold from being in their nasty room. Unclean
Checked in last night and had to switch rooms 3 times. 1st room had garbage overflowing in the can right outside my door, 2nd room had toilet paper in the toilet, 3rd room had urine in the toilet and I was told that it most likely was rust in the water...not the case at all, but even if it was then they shouldnt rent out rooms like that. And finally the 4th was very old musty smelling, but at 11 am I was too tired to keep moving my family around. You would think after so many issues theyd offer something other than Im sorry.I noticed they have great reviews on cleanliness posted a year or more ago. Maybe they were up to that standard back then, but thats not the case at all now.Id definitely wouldnt stay here again and you should think twice about staying here unless you dont care about on the level of cleanliness, which the bar should be a lot higher during this pandemic.
Front desk was super sweet. However, this place does not look like the pictures I was all excited about and they should offer discounts because I paid $100 for a $30 night. Slept on the bed, brushed my teeth, used my wipes to freshen up (thank God I had it) and washed my face only because the shower were nasty and old looking. There was a dead roach on the bathroom floor (so at least they spray) and I left it there. Then they could see.. Stayed a couple hours to rest my eyes so I could not be sleepy traveling to take my behind back home to clean up. Ughhh. If visiting from out of town - its a no go. Sorry not Sorry.
Merry Acres Inn is definitely a good hotel, on the verge of a great one. The location fantastic. The staff helpful and attentive. The on-site bar, Amazing and inexpensive. The shuttle service was great to three sister properties. The pool awesome. The property great. Breakfast amazing. The rooms are okay. This property is old motel style where your doors are outside. The walls between your rooms is paper thing. I could my neighbor tapping their shaving razor on the sink and every single conversation they had. Serious soundproofing a necessity for this place in the future. The rooms were clean except for a the bathrooms which has weird hard stains. This was all forgiven because of two things. The rate and other amenities. The entire hotel has a great feeling and a weird charm to it. Overall it’s a fantastic bang for your buck, it’s not the Ritz Carleton, you’re in South West Georgia. I enjoyed it. I’ll probably not be in the area for a long while. But when I am back in Albany I’ll make sure to stay at the Merry. I hope you take a chance on this place because you might have some fun.
Went here for a company Christmas party and it was absolutely amazing. The staff from the hotel picked up several employees, we all met up at our area that had a beautiful set up and open bar. Followed with an amazing dinner with the kindest waiters. It was a wonderful evening. Couldnt have asked for a better coordinated event. I cant stress enough how beautiful the set up was and how kind all the staff was too. Looking forward to next year.
This place is a home away from home. You feel as if you are visiting family on the holidays and youre in the spare bedroom. The beds are super comfortable. The decor is simple, clean, and classic. The staff is kind and attentive. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Ill be spending time here while I work at the local hospital. This place is a hidden gem. The Paula Dean Suite is beautiful. Elegant, updated, and has classic county home feel. Im so excited to have found this place. Its a sweet little place. 😊Update: Joel is no longer at this establishment, but we have Allen and Michele tending the bar now. 30 years of experience between them and it shows! Delicious drinks. Excellent service!! 😁
The staff was very friendly, informative and helpful. From reserving the room to check-out, my experience was great. I thought the room had a very nice appearance, they could do better with cleaning, nothing major but the room was dusty. Also, complimentary breakfast was great! I will definitely stay here again and recommend to my friends.
Stayed at hotel while working in town and was rudely awakes by loud music coming from court yard. Apparently this hotel would rather sell alcohol and hold a party than allow the guest who paid for a quiet place to rest get any sleep. Hotel staff was little concerned with my situation and I do not recommend this hotel if you need a good rest.
The property is actually quite nice. Its a vintage vibe as it is a hotel built in the 1950s. The property is relatively well maintained and is fairly clean, especially for such an old hotel. The management should definitely spruce the rooms up a little though. The mattresses felt like they were original to the hotel. I was completely unable to sleep on them and ended up sleeping in a chair. The drains didnt drain well, the hardware looked like it had 5 decades of paint caked over the original metal to hide rust rather than replacing the hardware. A bunch of little things kept this from being a place I would seek out as opposed to a place Ill stay if everything else is booked. You could certainly do worse, and the staff is great. Almost an awesome hotel.
The staff were very nice & guest oriented. Room was good except the floor...our dog spilled her water so we wiped it with a towel from the room & it was very dirty. The socks we had on were also very dirty. However, the beds were comfy & linen was clean. Comes with a nice HOT breakfast at no additional charge. I recommend this motel.
We loved this place.Joe at the front desk was very friendly. The hostess at their breakfast restaurant was a sweetheart. Angie was her name. The room was immaculate. The Pub at the Inn was fun and quaint. They gave us transportation to The Catch restaurant for dinner, which was great. Overall, we loved everything about this place.
Rooms are nice, I like the motel style. I wish the beds were a little nicer. The saltwater pool is an awesome feature. Best part of the experience is their affiliation with other restaurants which they provide a free shuttle, tip the dude though hes awesome. Also convenient that you can order food and have it delivered with no charge from the same restaurants. Maybe I shouldnt complain because its free, but the breakfast was lacking a bit compared to the rest of the experience.
The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. The A/C was amazing in this hot weather. Bathroom even has a heat lamp. The staff is very friendly. Pool was clean and refreshing with polite staff and bar service. Free breakfast was a variety of hot and cold foods including biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, cereals, fruit and yogurt.
Staff was very nice, small cute little community-like Hotel/Motel. The rooms are nice for the value. Complimentary breakfast with your stay as well as they give you a complimentary drink at the bar, we didnt get to enjoy the drink because we got in so late and were leaving the next morning. The bar was cute, it was attached to the check in desk. Standard breakfast options on the morning, the wait staff was very nice and helpful. Plenty of seating in the morning there as well, no worries about getting there too early.
Great little hometown place. Lovely little spot. Local police sit it parking lot all evening, thus you are safe, safe, safe! And these two guys that work at the hotel have been sitting here watching tv on their phones. Glad it is only 94* here this evening because the heat coming off the engine of their car only makes it feel like it is 124*. Either leave work or go to work. Other than that... neat old place. Pool was great and staff was very friendly in office and the Manor House Pub. Grounds are beautiful and clean. Enjoyed the stay greatly.
Loved my stay at this delightful hotel. Every staff member, at the hotel, on site restaurant and the Catch was super friendly and knowledgeable. Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. The continental breakfast was served in their restaurant and exceeded my expectations. They also have a free shuttle to any of their restaurants. Highly recommend staying here.
Went there for breakfast which i have enjoyed it in the past but around 9 am nothing on the bar to eat much an nobody putting anything out and people was still coming in that stayed at the hotel my thought was what are they gonna eat. This hotel is know as one of the top hotels in albany and you cant get a room less than a hundred dollars really need to step up the food area breakfast was awful. Why pay more go to a country inn pay $75 and get a real good breakfast buffet and the rooms are not bad just saying live up to your name and the price serve better breakfast your customers deserve better. Waffle house would have been a better choice this morning at less i wouldnt have left still hungry. I will say the hostess was very nice and friendly
I absolutely love this place. It is so cute. It has free shuttle buses to 3 of the restaurants they own which are great restaurants. They have a bar and pub on site as well. Plus guest laundry and a gym. Not only do they have hotel rooms they also have small apartments. A very nice pool and lounging area. They also serve a great Continental breakfast in a restaurant. My room was very clean and I was very happy with this place. All the staff were super friendly.
Loved this place! Charming! Small cottages on the property with several rooms in each building. Lovely pool area. The Manor House pub was a great spot to have a drink at the end of each day. Hit breakfast everyday. The was live music. Service was excellent!!! Will definitely return!
This is what used to be called a (very large) motel complex. Lots of amenities and friendly staff. Good breakfasts, beds, and location. I think this would be an excellent place to house a large wedding party or family reunion because of the layout and the amenities. The buildings are just a little... old. You can tell they do as needed repairs rather than renovation. Personally I dont like to admit that bothered me because they do an excellent job in all the areas that really matter.I withheld a star because there are too many speed bumps and I couldnt park next to my room because the spaces arent assigned and they accidentally charged me twice for the room (my son paid in advance of my arrival. My card was supposed to only be used for incidentals but they charged the room to it. The charge was reversed the very next day without my having to call. But still its a breach.I must say, dont judge this business by its paint job. Its a really good hotel.
Based on how crowded it was all the time, Merry Acres must be a local gem. The rooms werent bad, it was actually far better than I expected. The bed was comfortable and it was clean. Walls were thick enough to not hear noise from next door or the sound of slamming doors. It did have a wet beach towel smell, breakfast service and quality was eh at best. But the most 5 star deserving thing was Joel at the Pub. He made great drinks, gave wonderful service, and managed all the take out orders.
Older hotel, and has some definate character. Rooms are comfy, and cozy. Location is close to town. Breakfast is complimentary. Not bad, a little better than most continental breakfast. The bar staff is fabulous. Free pour the drinks, and you get your $$ worth. Sometimes they have live performers.
I had a wonderful peaceful time everyone was nice and helpful.. me and my husband had some amazing food the drinks it was so good.. the room was cool and so perfect... If anyone planning a vacation I say this is the spot... I didnt want to leave at all... I definitely give it a 5 star..
My family and I came there for vacation from Florida and might I say we were not disappointed! The rooms were immaculate, ambiance was peaceful and of belonging, and the staff was super nice! We also got free buffet breakfast each day that came as part of the room package. If the question is will I stay there again.... My answer is absolutely! ❤ED THIS PLACE!!!
Good shuttle options, security was outside at night, could swim in pool late (>11 pm), bathrooms were small and the historic inn is a little dated, but the beds and pillows were fine. Plus there was a good size mini fridge, microwave, friendly front desk staff, snacks and drinks for sale in the lobby, and we could park pretty close to our room. Good deal for the price. Id stay there again :).
The staff were exceptionally kind, especially Ashlynn whom was serving breakfast. The airport shuttle was really helpful. The room was very clean and had shampoo, conditioner, and soap. There were no glass cups for washing your mouth after brushing your teeth. There was an adequate number of towels. There is a fridge, microwave, and single-use coffee maker in the room for your benefit. TV worked fine and had cable. Wifi worked well too. I did not use the other amenities (e.g. pool). For a small operation, theres really little more that they could improve on, and I am happy with having stayed there.
Found this little gem during our hurricane Irma evacuation! We had a large dog with us, no extra pet fee! When we arrived check in was a breeze, staff is helpful and warm. Cute bar and restaurant, playground, pool, spacious rooms, and such a deal. We are happy to have found it, and highly recommend for the price point it i was very impressed.
I would definitely stay at Merry Acres Inn again! This hotel was in a nice location that felt secluded and private and yet was very close to food and activities. Our first room had a few issues (smelled like gas and bad internet reception) but they switched us to a bigger and nicer room which did not have a smell and had excellent connectivity. The rooms were nice and CLEAN. They were very reasonable for what you get and the pet fee was not too high. The complimentary breakfast was in a comfortable restaurant setting and was the BEST free hotel breakfast I have ever had with a wide selection and quality. The pub they have onsite also provides tasty food and beverage. All of the staff at this hotel were super friendly and willing to help and accommodate. Its obvious they pride themselves on customer service. They also worked with us to extend our stay a few days. This was a great experience and I would feel comfortable with recommending this hotel to anyone. :)

2022-04-17My only complaint is the breakfast. I would expect more from a great place like this. The coffee cups are nothing less than pathetic. Very small like paper Dixie cups. Weak breakfast for sure. Other than that. Top notch. Great room. Comfortable beds. Clean. We love staying here. Bring back the breakfast bar.

2022-04-18This is one of the hotels the company put us up in and it seemed nice, at first. Big issue is they put someone who has to sleep during the day right next to the bar that plays loud music. Wouldnt be too bad if I was a regular person sleeping at night, but I most likely will not be staying here again.

2022-05-07Very clean rooms, convenient restaurant / bar, dog friendly with a brand new dog run area, but most of all the friendliest, most courteous customer service from every employee we came across! We haven’t seen this kind of service since before Covid.

2022-05-10I called to let them know that I would be late. Arrived at 12am. I wasnt allowed to check in until almost 1am. They were extremely rude about it. Front staff seemed racist as she didnt allow me to wait in the Lobby. She said I need to wait outside; proceeded to lock the door in my face! However, she did allow a caucasian male in. It was myself and another AA male, who by the way was getting married the next day. They refused him his room because it was in his wife to be name. She had to leave her celebration to come show her ID! I will NEVER stay here again and I dont recommend any person of color to stay as well. My daughters father was there at the same time. They gave him a smaller room for the same price due to a faulty AC unit.

2022-03-24I was excited when i got to this motel.. it is simple, clean and the staff are friendly.. my kinda place... unfortunately all the good things i wanted to say about this property have been over shadowed. I Got a room facing the lot in front of the pub... then about 7pm while just relaxing watching tv, my room starts vibrating because they started live music on the porch less than 100 ft away... Apparently its on their pubs website, but i was given no warning when they handed me this room and when i complained about the noise was told no other rooms.. this is disrespectful of the paying customers who only want a quiet place to rest after a long day... When i booked the lady on the phone told me i would have fun at this motel and if i wasnt the staff were not doing something right... Well its no fun and yes the staff did not do something right... Lesson learned...Update.... Just after writing this review i called to ask the manager if they could crank the bass down just a bit (I play bass, it was entirely too loud for the music to begin with but was annoying as it vibrated my room) and was offered a new room. (A room that another desk agent said they didnt have). This lady was helpful and apologetic and actually seemed to care.. had to walk to the other end of the property but was worth it to get away from the bad singing and loud music.

2022-05-07Lots of trouble with the wifi. Quite a bit of extra noise from other guests and the parking lot, but to be expected with the set-up! Overall a good stay but frustrated with some of the little things.

2022-02-07I dont know how to describe this place. Its very easy to overlook because of the location. The drinks are strong, and the pub has a very homey the gangs all here type of vibe. Very interesting place.

2021-11-30Its a nice little place to listen to local artist. Small inside area. The veranda outside has more room. Its a place you can listen to music, get a little dancing during the week. They have menus from a couple of restaurants that deliver.
