A great road course race track. They have a lot of good racing events here. The different elevation of the different parts of the track make it great place for sports car, and other forms of motorsports. We always have a good time here we believe you will as well.It would be good to see indy car to retun to here as well as mabby the ARCA series, mabby the NASCAR Trucks, or Formula 1to race here some day, mabby some of the Motorcycle racing. Staff are very nice here as well. Great for the hole family.
I went to pick up my 4 year old from my husband at a drift event 5/6/22 due to the high winds and even though we had a parking pass and I dropped my husband and child off earlier they refused to let me through and made my child walk the extremely long way in high winds. My sister spoke up to the manager and said she wouldn’t help due to her being “rude” in which she was just speaking up for the inconsistency in the “rules” they had. She was power tripping over me picking up a small child. Ridiculous. If you have certain rules keep them consistent. If I could leave zero stars for this sad excuse of a manager I would. Do better. If she would’ve respectfully came to me and said something along the lines of “Hey Ma’am I’m sorry for the inconsistency in communication with letting you come through earlier but I can’t do that now due to it being one of our track rules” I would’ve understood. But I don’t because of this conversation. My sister went up to her and they spoke for a little and at the end of the conversation my sister said “so you’re saying the child has to walk up and down the hill even though we have a parking pass” and she said word for word “because you have an attitude yes”. Again she didn’t have an attitude we just weren’t understanding why we couldn’t do what we did earlier. So yeah 10/10 super lame of this woman to power trip over picking up a FOUR year old.
Five Stars arent enough. This is the best race track Ive ever visited. Staff has been amazing. Thanks Hannah !!Facility is clean and well laid out. Its huge. Dozens of great places to watch the racing. And large screens showing the race in sections you cant see. The paddock area is busy but neat and tidy. The vendors, racers and teams are friendly and willing to visit. Even if theyre busy. Will definitely be back.
Very unorganized event! We purchased two 2-day tickets and everything was fine the first day we went with the exception of most of the Port a potties falling over in the wind due to placing them on uneven ground and not strapping them down. Day two we go to get a new band but oops, they expect you to wear the same paper wrist band for both days as admission to the event and they also didnt tell us this when they gave us the bands initially. So of course, as normal people, we took the bands off after coming back to the hotel on day 1 so we could shower after a long, hot day. I guess they dont expect you to shower for 2 days 🤷♀️ we had to go back in forth through multiple workers to find someone who knew how to handle this situation and each time waiting in a long line. I would expect for such a big event that has been put on for years, theyd be more of an organized event by now by unfortunately it doesnt seem like that is the case. I only gave 2 stars because we at least enjoyed the actual drifting event in itself.
It was an AMAZING day! My husband got to drive some awesome AMGs and I got taken around the course with an instructor as a guest! IT WAS GREAT!! We were provided with driving classes, breakfast, lunch, then a snack with drinks. A very fun filled day! We plan to return! Thank you to all who made this happen!!
Best racetrack in Georgia, and one of the best in the Southeast. My home away from home. The facilities continue to improve year over year and the number of events are plentiful. Highly recommend connecting with an organization such as Chin Motorsports and doing a trackday, or showing up to hosted events (Petit LeMans, Moto America...)
Very nice track and a great place to enjoy Petit Le Mans. The staff which works the event is friendly and helpful in very situation we have encountered them. I do wish the shower and restroom trailers would be brought in for the general public camping. There are only 2 building some what close for showers. A few shortcomings but overall a nice place with some Southern hospitality.
Tip - A trip to the main paddock is a must. But bring walking shoes that you dont care about because there is a lot of dust and you will be walking a ton.The best spots for me are 10a/b, the esses at Turn 5 and then turn 7. Turn 7 is one of the slowest parts of the track and you can typically get close to the fence and get a great shot!
Our race team had an event here (ChampCar) last weekend and was my third time racing here. I must say that this track is a TON of fun with elevation changes that you would never expect when playing video games or watching videos. The blind corners make this track so much fun and you can just imagine the history of racers throughout the years who have been here. The bad: As of 2/12 they tore down the old timing tower and are currently in the construction phase which forces teams to move to the pro paddock.
Awesome track with lots of great viewing locations. This venue plays host to many types of Motorsport activities. Their signature events are the Petit Le Mans, a 10 hour sports car endurance race, Drift Atlanta, The Mitty, and the annual AMA Superbike event. They also have SCCA and other club and sport events throughout the year.
One of my favorite tracks--enough that I make the 16 hour drive from Houston each year.Track surface is pretty good overall (esp compared to Texas tracks) and has a really good flow for bikes. There is a bump coming in to turn 1 and some uneven pavement on the exit of 1 leading to turn 2 that you can hit if youre not on the proper line that can upset your bike though. Its a very fast track and is what I would consider a liter bike track though I had plenty of fun on my 675. I just spenf half of the back straight with the bike topped out so I would recommend re-gearing to get more top end.The facilities are showing their age but everything works. Theres showers and bathrooms on the second tier paddock terrace and this year the second tier was blocked off to vehicles Im guessing because it had just been repaved? The lower/main paddock has electric drops and even some water hookups. Some of the electrical hookups look like an electrical fire waiting to happen while others look good.Theres full fluid recycling on site which is really nice.Spectating is really good as there are perimeter roads that allow for access to most of the track.Location is good overall. Grocery stores, super Walmart, etc within 10-15 minutes drive.
Iconic racetrack located in the Southeast. Whats not to love about a long back straight that slingshots you out of turn 9 and drops you into turns 10a and 10b? Hard on the brakes that separates the Men from the boys! Nice front straight leading to a high speed sweeping, uphill turn that takes you over the hill for a quick flick of your motorcycle from left to right and back left again. Divebombs you through a short series of esses, just as you have to set up for turn 5... Keeping the front wheel on the ground is nearly impossible as you come through the turn on the gas and crest the hill. Late braking is a must for turn 6! Carry lots of speed as you navigate its slightly banked apex and set up for one of the most important turns on the racetrack... Mighty turn 7!!! Hard on the brakes to make this almost 90 degree, flat right hand turn. Scrub just enough speed to drag your knee through the apex and on the gas... HARD on the gas to keep that momentum high and increase your drive off the corner and onto that beautifully long back straightaway that I referred to earlier! String it all together, with proper throttle control and good lines... It makes for one of the best tracks I have had the pleasure to ride a motorcycle on. Remember... Bring extra fuel, this track will make your machine thirsty!🍺
Incredible experience during the IMSA Petit Le Mans! The fan zone is awesome, so are the paddock, track and pitlane access. Sportscar racing has is the best fan experience. Totally worth the $67 ticket. Access to almost the entire track layout and seating. Ample parking space, good transit to the track, great commentary etc. Definitely coming back next year!
We have come here as both a spectator and recently for a track day. This has become one of our favorite tracks. The changes in elevation create awesome vantage points for spectators and a rush when riding on them. The pit area is down a rather steep slope, so if you arent used to driving roads like that be careful and take it slow.Rider Note: If you are staying in the pit area and it looks like it will rain, pick up anything that you dont want to get wet. It rained part of a day and there was a bit of flooding in pit.Spectator Note: You will need some patience when leaving after large event, as it may take some time to get out.
We love coming here every time we score free tix to the Petit Le Mans, not every year but a few times. The place looks great and clean. It is also well organized. We were lucky we got parking pass inside too bc if u park outside, its going to be a few miles walk and the dirt is not pretty😩 can’t wait to go back!
Absolutely awesome place! Im visiting from outta town and this is the best track Ive been to. The workers and the crowd that was here were super friendly and down to earth. I really appreciate the fact that you can drive around outside the track so youre able to see whats going on everywhere. Get board with a spot, drive to another part and get some juicy action there, then keep exploring till youve seen cars drive on the track from all angles. They also have to bridges that look over the track which is super cool. Thanks for being you and having a great place that makes people happy! I had an amazing time.
Event capacity and variety is amazing. Your new management has hired horribly rude staff, however, and I wouldnt personally choose this venue over going other places based off of the sheer amount of complaints Ive heard from event attendees regarding them. This place used to be super cool, but besides the major events like The Mitty, Clean Culture, and Formula Drift its gone super downhill the last couple of years.
Petit racing and weather were great, but the way track management decided to pack folks in on race day was unwise. By making infield parking free, there were so many cars inside the gates, parking took up most available free bits of space a human could occupy, even at 50% capacity. It was difficult to get a glimpse of most of the track and still maintain social distancing. I think allowing 50% capacity + cars was too much.
This is an amazing well taken care of track. This is a fun 2.54 mile track with 12 turns. This track has great corner works that know what they are doing and are making sure everyone is safe. I went for a Z car event and they didnt have any vendors which would have been nice, but food was pretty close so it wasnt too bad. Depending on the event you are there for you can rent golf carts. There is plenty of great areas to go watch events at this is a great place for the entire family to enjoy!
This place is amazing! Such an iconic race track that will be in our history of racing forever! The improvements are nice. Parking is good. The Georgia clay around the track is awesome! Ive had the pleasure of visiting the track occasionally over the year and every visit is wonderful!
Very excellent road course. The track creates very close and intense races. Although I do recommend that you rent a golf cart or bring your own as it is a lot of walking. Me and my family will hopefully be back next year to enjoy more exciting racing. Definitely recommend! Thanks!
This legendary track with high speed sections and technical road course sections excite on so many levels. If you have the opportunity to watch an event I recommend it and especially if you find a club to drive with, this track will not disappoint, the on track experience is just excellent. I look forward to coming back.
If I could give them less stars for their lack of organization, I would. I’ve never posted a negative review before, but I live two hours away and it’s already passed midnight with no sign of leaving in sight. I have been sitting in line to leave this place for THREE HOURS NOW. We even left and missed the entire last section of the race so that we could miss the crowd and still are stuck in the same place we started three hours ago. I have no words to explain my anger and frustration with how they only have one exit for these thousands of people to leave out of. This is not only unorganized and unprofessional, but it’s a safety hazard for any type of emergency needing to get to anyone in this place. I am beyond mad.
What an amazing experience! Went with a friend to learn driving techniques and see what his car could do. Everything exceeded expectations; the track, the car and our abilities. We didnt get a chance to eat at the onsite restaurant but I heard the food was good and having seen the menu, it appeared reasonably priced as well. I suggest using an app to find reasonably priced gas nearby as the closest fuel center was nearly $0.50 higher than driving just a minute farther.
A great place to visit and watch IMSA and any other race platform. The track is well kept but the Fire anys are invading most of the grounds, but as long as you pay attention you can get by. By an awesome weekend for the Petite LaMan and enjoy time with family and friends.
World class race track and facility.I have been coming to this track since the mid to late 70s.No matter if your into cars or motorcycle racing, club events or even track days that you can take your own car or motorcycle around the track without the worries of those annoying speeding tickets and in a much safer environment then on the highways this is the place to come.It really wasnt until my work transferred out of Georgia and I started visiting other tracks that I realized just how special of a place this is.
Racing was good, but race organization for fans were awful. Got to the race an hour and a half before the race started, paid $60 in advance for infield parking, went in and circled around for an hour trying to find a parking spot only to be told by staff we there was no parking and we needed to go down the road and walk back in. We paid for infield parking due to health reasons. We then had to walk back to the track, go to will call to get credited back, which they did, but we missed the start of the race due to this. Very very unorganized....oh and they kept letting people in know they had no parking!! To top it off this was ours sons 18th birthday day that he had been looking so forward to!!!!!
I have been a patron here for years. I mostly attend the events of Petit LeMans and Formula Drift, but I do occasionally go for Global Time Attack, and miscellaneous motorcycle races. The track is an amazing place, and the elevation changes make it so much more than photos and videos make it out to be. Facilities are always clean, and it has showers and campsites for overnight events. Just remember to bring a golf cart for those killer hills.
Cut my teeth on this Race Track! Very professionally run and a joy to race at even at the lower levels (cant afford to run with the big boys!) Staff is courteous and professional. Enjoy going to the bigger events there and watching the pros show you how to really drive that track!
The higher ups at RA have absolutely zero respect for the car community. Between racist and abusive staff. price gouging events owners. trying to cancel scheduled events on there owners days before they begin. Instigating police brutality at events. Horrible communication between RA staff and event staff. And Terrible media rules (read the fine print on your tickets). This track has over and over again proven to not care about the community that built it from the ground up. The only thing the owner cares about is making quick money however shady ways he can. It would normally really make me sad when we lose a track especially a local one since they are disappearing so fast but RA can’t go away fast enough
This is a great facility for road racing. Been coming for the Petit Le Mans and the venue accommodates a large crowd, traffic outside the track never gets horrible. There are many great places to sit and watch the racing. Great if your smaller kids like racing, as theyre free if under 13.
Called ahead about doing a track tour and was pleasantly surprised by how Angie took us around the entire facility and gave us an all around fantastic guided tour of the whole racetrack and its amazing history. If youre a race fan, by all means stop in and take the tour. Excellent service, cant say enough about how awesome it was.
The best road course in the country. Fast straights, sharp bends, and crazy elevation changes make this track the one to drive on or just sit back and watch the races. Lets hope Michelin doesnt ruin it for the amateur leagues because they want to money grubbing a**hats.
I’ve run track days here. The walls close to the track will make you need to second guess how hard to push the car. The track to me is the toughest I’ve run and I’ve run all the major tracks in the southeast. It’s a blast though! Clean facilities and easy access to the interstate are a plus!
This place is heaven. Its as simple as that! We went for global time attack. The track was superb, viewing areas immense, access to cool areas open, concessions, including a cool mobile bar truck with fans and ice cold beer and liquor (limited selection) I highly recommend the experience! Also, you can bring mini bikes, for a small fee. Need helmet!
One of the best motorsports experiences in the country if not the world. The views are second to none, the scenery gorgeous, the track spectacular, and the experience priceless. Petit Le Mans is special but any even here is unforgettable, as a spectator or competitor.
As a racer, this track is a lot of fun! A good amount of elevation changes and technical enough to keep any driver on edge lap after lap.The track surface is incredibly smooth and very gentle on tires and brakes. The curbing can be rough in places, but thats kind of what its there for. The facilities are good (see Nelson Ledges for what classifies as poor) but the lack of power in the service pits (north side of track) means everyone is running their generator. Also, the track personnel were a little slow checking people in at the gate... but this is the south I suppose.
Very fun track to drive on with lots of elevation change and excellent for spectating, with lots of viewing areas and good angles. Decent facilities. As a driver, this is the most unforgiving track Ive driven so take your time to get used to it. Very little runoff area.
I met my husband at Road A during a track school. He had an E30 M3 and I was driving my 3rd gen RX-7. It was love at first sight. He went home and told his friends I met an awesome girl...she has her own torque wrench! We were married four years later and that was 20 years ago. Road Atlanta has a soft spot in our hearts.
Ive been a regular at the Petite Lemans for a number of years. Its always great racing and I love the roar of the engines. This year I also attended American Road Race of Champions. It was another great day at the track, however, this day I tried the Saturday track tour. What a fun experience that was. For a $20 donation, that went to the track workers, I got to drive my personal car around the track for about 30 minutes. I now have a totally different respect for how totally blind Turn 11 really is!!!NASCAR Denny
I preface this by saying the actual track is a fun track in good condition that I like riding on. The pit in lane is not in a great spot but works. However this rating is because of facilities and cost/value. What kind of modern facility uses porta potties for the main pit? Showers are a joke. And the value is low, it is extremely expensive to get in the gate. Much more than even Barber which is 5x as nice as Road Atlanta.
Visited this track numerous times as a spectator. Todays visit during the MotoAmerica event held up to its reputation. The track facilities were clean, restrooms were well kept and plenty of clean portajohns around the track as well. Event crew was very friendly and helpful with answering questions. Great family day at the track.
I absolutely love this track. I have been here several times. The track is always clean and the workers are super nice. This is my favorite stop on the formula drift tour. The food vendors are great as well. Sonnys bbq had fried Oreos! Amazing! And free sweet tea refills.... Such a beautiful facility. I would recommend renting a golf cart of you plan on spending a full day art the track. I cant wait till next year!
I love road atlanta but went to the NASA event (sunday) and was quite disappointed. Was probably a lot of fun for drivers but very disorganized (no program, no announcer, not even info to be found concerning itinerary on google) and boring for spectators. Mostly drivers just running laps...almost no racing.
Road ATL the home to Petit Le Mans! Great track with a good paddock grill to go to for some snacks. Overall the track is easily accessible for a lot of photos and kept up. Many events happen here every year (Drift ATL, Gridlife, Trans Am, La Ferrari, NASA, SCCA, F3, 24 Hrs of Lemons and many more events) and I try my best to go to all of them!
Went recently after visiting Barbers in B-Ham Al.. While not the quality of Barbers it wasnt bad either. However, the NO ALCOHOL policy for this race track is ridiculous! When entering, a map and schedule of events were not given, so first time patrons are on their own! At Barbers theres also a free tram to get you around the track after you park, Road Atlanta has none.
Ive been going to Road Atlanta as a spectator or for business for nearly 20 years and have always loved it, until today. I paid $40 per person for an event that had on average 2 cars per class on track, and some classes had 1. I understand if there were competing events with the HSR weekend, but dont charge people for a full blown production when it is not. The HSR event today was advertised just as it has been in the past, so a previous customer only assumes it will be like years past. It was not and today was extremely over priced.
Went for Petit Le Mans. Great track and had lots of viewing spaces. But because of everything being spread out was a tad irritated with shuttle services. On Friday the shuttles stopped maybe an hour after races ended to Lanier parking area. Then Saturday (actual race day) the shuttles were there to drop people in infield but had lines of people to get back to fan zone and no shuttles in sight. People walked from fanzone to bottom of infield and didnt see a shuttle; we waited 10 mins and then walked back with no sight of a shuttle. Was very disappointed in shuttle services; in total we probably waited 30 mins and there were no signs saying it wasnt running or anything either. Only other thing I would say was somewhat disappointing is that it is Atlanta, there has got to be food trucks in area; why not use them to add more food options?
My wife and I have enjoyed going to Road Atlanta for several years. Lately, the prices for even minor events have increased so much that we dont attend. They used to offer major discounts to military members but now its merely a token of $5 off. Additionally, they charge $20 just to park. There are too many other recreational/entertain venues that offer more for the price.
What else can I say here...amazing track, huge grounds, a total playland for the priveleged few. I wish I could afford a track day here, but my life wont swing it these days...Im in one of the valleys in business right now. Once returned to the high side though, I cant wait to sacrifice some consumables there.
Was once a great track to spectate from. Then Panoz showed up and changed it. No more prime spectatiing areas. You are either too far from the track, or the view is obstructed by fence. You have to pay for parking on top of the ticket fee. Same for camping. The worst part was removing the dip. It took the soul out of the track.
I have attended the atlanta drift event for the last 6 years. and this yeah i was the most disapointed. not with the even but with the locations staff. i belive i was pulled aside to pull my coolers out of my car while other didnt even get checked. i end up losing roughlt 100 in beer each year the changed the rules. from alcohol promited to not prmited to no beach umbrellas to not even checking people from being able to grill where you sit to not being able to grill. there no consistent with the rules. here i am trying to enjoy my night as a ethic american and all i see around me are white americans with beer bings openly drinking infron of people with no shame. as if they got a pass just because they are white. im very disapointed with road atlant and how they show prodigies on who the decide to check and not check.
My family goes to this every year we always have a great time. That is until this year. It says your not allowed to bring in your own alcohol but we watched a large group passing around bottles and grabbing beer out of the coolers. And as the day went on they got louder and started fighting with each other. Two guys even came over to our area and about got into a fight right next to my brother who had my 4 year old niece sleeping on his chest. The event staff was told about them by a few ppl and really did nothing about it. We go to leave and all the exits are blocked cars are starting to line up and 1 guy won’t move his truck that is parked in the exit. I asked him to move he refused a few others asked him to move he refused. My brother a father tried to get help from the law enforcement officers they didn’t want to help until I went over. We enjoy going to the drift races every year and will give it one more shot but if something is not done we would rather travel to go see them than have to put up with this kind of stuff
Not sure why the historic half of this weekend event was not noted on Road Atlantas website (at least I couldnt find it). Would have attended Saturday as well if knew of the charity celebrity race. It was confusing the year before as well (just the Trans AM schedule events seem to get the push PR wise).
Over the years the fans not in a car club are severly being overlooked. The car clubs have taken up all of the prime locations for utilities ,vending, food, and viewing. In addition no sidewalks for peds makes it very hard to drive around the infield. Keep tents off of the fences , they block views.

2022-04-26I live close enough to Road Atlanta to hear the racing from my porch. It was one of the reasons I wanted to move to the area. It’s a great place to spend the day and if you have kids under 12 they are “always free”. The access to the racing is amazing. For all but the biggest events you can pretty much go wherever you want and get within feet of the action. The staff is great and so are the amenities. Don’t think you should just come to the big events. The smaller events are awesome too and you can usually walk through the paddock and see the teams getting ready and even talk to folks. Friday’s are especially good if you are a photographer. Attached are a few pictures from the recent MotoAmerica event. I went all three days. I am amazed this facility is so close to my house and I go at every opportunity.

2021-11-22Without a doubt my favorite place to see an endurance race in the fall. I missed it dearly when covid hit last year. Felt great to be back. Petit le mans is a bucket list race for everyone to attend

2022-05-08It would have been five stars because I did have a great time attending formula d. However we left 50 min early just to avoid traffic, and we have been sitting in the same spot for 2 hours. I am not even exaggerating. This is seriously so disorganized. It is getting the point to where it wasnt even worth it to go.

2022-04-07One of the best tracks in the country! Never disappoints. Ive raced here a number of times, and it never stops being a little scary, in a fun way. The grounds are nice and the facilities are well taken care of. We always look forward to our club race weekends here!

2022-03-27Top notch raceway. The Atlanta Historic car race was fantastic. Not a bad spot to watch the race. Plenty of parking. Eric Langbein racing was one of the big winners. Came in 1st and 2nd place in their division. The Walter Mitty is another classic car race not to be missed when it come to town in the spring.

2021-06-12We spent the day at Road Atlanta with a Track event company Atlanta Driving Society. The event was well organized and we had a blast. Road Atlanta has great facilities and helpful staff. The track is a fast paced thrill ride. The back straight has enough room to see what your top speed may be and the esses will test your cornering. Overall we had a great time!
