Micro Center in other cities:
This was my first visit to a Micro Center and I must say it was an exceptional experience. They literally have everything you need concerning computers. I came in to buy parts to build my first gaming rig. Everything was reasonably priced or better. They had gpus, and at msrp! I did not have to seek anyone for assistance. I was greeted by an associate named Robert. His service and knowledge were impeccable. He really helped make selecting all the components I needed a breeze. My experience at this establishment definitely exceeded expectations. I will definitely be returning regularly.
Great selection. Really need a space for people to build the computers and test them. I live 3 hours away and had to build my PC in my car to make sure all parts fit which some didnt and I had to go exchange them. When I went in to see if it would post they wanted to charge me $40 just use a monitor for 10 seconds and the manager acted like I was an inconvenience and had an additude when I asked and explained the situation.
If its computer-related, a store in this chain is where you need to go. At this location the staff is helpful without being intrusive, the store is fairly well organized, and they have somehow managed to have efficient check-out services.I had to deduct 1 star for the traffic in the area. Its fairly easy to get into the shopping center, but leaving in some directions can be a challenge.
I only been here once so not much to go off, but my first visit was awesome and I went to buy a mouse for my GAMING PC, very simple rgb lighting, very accurate working mouse and it was a basic compare to many that they had. Definitely going back to see if I can upgrade my PC. I like the builds that I saw the last time I went.
For anyone with issues concerning their PC, I cant recommend this places service center enough. My gaming PC was suffering some very odd problems which I could not identify. To be clear, I built this PC myself and its layout is *very* unique. I usually troubleshoot issues myself but this was clearly getting beyond my abilities, so I gave Micro Center a call.Within five minutes of speaking to Mark, one of the technicuans, he was able to identify the problem and asked me to bring it in. I did so that very night and he was able to get the problem fixed in time for me to pick it up the next evening. Everything is now working properly.A+ service, Mark! You know your stuff. For those curious, the price of the repair was reasonable and all costs were explained to me up-front. Micro Centers repair desk - and Mark in particular - have performed very well and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone else who finds themself unable to resolve computer issues on their own.
This was my first time visiting a Micro Center and I very much enjoyed my time there. As a computer and technology enthusiast, it was really cool to see some items in a brick and mortar store that I would normally only access online. There are also a lot of good deals to be found here so I will probably swing by again in the near future!
Bought my entire computer in about an hour. Walked in with very little idea on what to do. Staff was super helpful (thanks Shoan). Got everything I needed and helped with recommendations. Was a bit more expensive than I thought, but that mightve been me forgetting about tax, backup battery, warranty, etc... Cashier was also super nice and understanding when I made 1 purchase with 3 different form of payments lol. Will give an update to my final build when Im done.
My family and I have bought four computers from here. Only one them have lasted. The other two would horrible. I also sent one to the service center where they cracked it and tried to act like it didn’t even happen. Then they wouldn’t answer my calls so I decided to get it fixed elsewhere from someone I could actually trust. I Would not recommend this place to anyone. It just all about profit for them.
This place is a complete and total scam. These people sell expensive computers that dont work and refuse to honor their warranties. Definitely do not do business with these frauds. After thirty something hours of back and forth with them the garbage they sold me still crashes running six year old games. Save time and money buy online, even if its more expensive at least they wont rob you then gaslight you after the fact.
It’s like heaven on earth. It’s like walking into a dream. There are so many high demand things on the shelves it’s a miracle they remain in stock day after day. The knowledgeable and approachable staff helped me to find affordable options to what I was looking for, in this case a GPU which is in very low supply across online platforms. This place rocks.
Has everything I need for my computer build including the gpu! Prices are the best and there is a limit of how many gpus you can buy a month so everyone gets a chance. Parking is good. Only downside is thay its an hour from the house. So, I recommend reserving as many items as you can online before you visit to avoid disappointment.
Don’t come here if you want to buy a chair. Not allowed to sit in them to try them out. They want you to drop $400, take it home, assemble it, then decide if you even like it. Cant even measure them since they are basically on the ceiling.I may just as well buy one online. So dumb.
Predatory technical support. After paying for diagnostic service, the people there told me I owed them an additional $50 for repairs. They said I only paid for the diagnostic, but then went ahead with the repairs without my consent. They will hold your PC hostage unless you pay them even more money, AFTER I explicitly asked if there are any additional fees. They said no, and obviously lied.
All the parts you could ever want. Great selection. Prices are hit or miss so check the normal places. Clean, stocked, and plenty of employees to help. Service is also hit or miss, sometimes its great sometimes it terrible. Overall great place for technology products.
Called the store in advance to ask if they price matched Amazon. They said yes, so we drove in. It wasnt until I got to the register that I was informed that they dont price match for prime members. I subsequently looked at there website and saw that Prime Day is excluded which is totally different.
Micro center was great. Paying them $250 to do the build was, in retrospect, the best $250 I’ve ever spent. I’ve got a beautiful, and most importantly, functional computer. Sales reps knew their stuff and the tech who built the machine actually cared. They even have this feature where you can text back and forth with the tech about the build in real time. Yea, that feature is every bit as awesome as you are imagining. If you need a computer, you won’t go wrong with these folks.Micro center is legit and I will shop there again.
Best computer store I have been to yet. Had to drive 130 miles each way, and it was well worth the drive!Store employees were eager to assist in finding things and the selection was simply outstanding. Not to mention scoring a founders 3080 in the prebuilt PC I picked up. So happy with it!
Stopped by today to buy 2 computers. A laptop and a desktop. Not a single person helped me. A young lady named Asia I think showed me where they were but had to leave. What I noticed is that women were not helped. And if you read the good reviews they are all from men. No assistance. Was completely ignored. They had a very wide selection and I was left to compare RAM size to prices on my own instead of getting the “expert” advice they “offer”.I left and went to Target. Got a laptop that was exactly what I needed for college and a desktop for my apartment.I’ll never shop at MicroCenter again.
One of the last, great computer store chains. Since Frys closed & CompUSA long gone, its the only large-format computer shop that I know of that still stands. They have a great selection of computers, laptops, accessories, components, etc. And employees that are very knowledgeable on what theyre selling, *and* they dont try to upsell you to something you dont need. For example, if you come in looking for a computer to surf the web and send emails, they wont try to sell you a $3k monster of a machine. I would be comfortable sending my grandparents here.
Little disappointed. Took my 14 year old son for him to purchase parts for a computer he built himself. He knows a great deal already at his age, more really than a lot of adults I know. Well he was looking for something specific and having trouble locating it in the store. My husband and I were just walking around while we waited for him and were asked by 4 different associates if we needed assistance. But then my son asked 3 different associates about this particular part he was looking for and instead of accompanying him to where it could be found, he was dismissed by all 3 with just an aisle number for him to look. It took my husband asking before someone came over and took the time to help with locating something similar to what my son was looking for. I understand hes just a kid but he was there with nearly $200 of his own money and should have been treated with the same sense of urgency afforded paying adults. Dont be so quick to dismiss them especially when youre all standing around talking with each other.
While I really like my computer, I cracked the screen while traveling. I took comfort in the fact that I had an $80 warranty, but come to find out my warranty only covers the actual components of the computer and not any physical damage. That warranty is well over $200, as I found out after placing a request to be called on Tuesday and not receiving a callback until Sunday, after texting the representative multiple times, oh, yea because you cannot call directly you have to text them. The associate was really dismissive of the fact that it took almost a week to receive a callback, “well we are really busy working on computers so sometimes it takes a couple of hours,” ha. If you need a repair you have to pay $39 for diagnostics to even get a ballpark figure of what your needs are even if you know what’s wrong with it. Additionally, you cannot make an appt, and not just because you don’t have a phone number because this is what I was told on the callback that took almost a week to get, I would just have to come in and see how many people are in the queue before me. I live 30 minutes away. Purchasing a computer there was great but everything after has been abysmal.
Bought a Powerspec PC during Black Friday and used it for a month and it stops working. Took it to another Microcenter to get it fixed but they returned it with another problem. Contacted support and said someone would contact me regarding a return and never heard back. I do not recommend Powerspec PCs and Microcenter service.
Customer service is good but they really need to turn the air on in this place. Very crowded with people and no air circulation so guess what happens....it gets STINKY! Best time to go is early in the morning, Im not going back in mid afternoon again unless they change the airflow.
Does anyone have the phone number to this place. I bought an upgrade yesterday and the CPU AIO Head RGB is very dim and flickering, but the fans are right. Does the dim flickering sound like faulty LEDs? I live an hour and a half away and would appreciate some help. Thanks to all. John S. Was the person that helped me
Went in to purchase a battery for the laptop I had previous purchased there. The salesman ASSUMED I had no computer skills, when Ive been working on computers a decade or more before he was born, and basically said it was a difficult process that needed to be done by the service dept. Its literally removing 9 screws, replacing battery, and replace screws. He refused to sell it to me. Amazon got the sale.
Great service from well trained professional technicians. Was kept informed of everything during the diagnosis of my computer and was well pleased with the outcome.Have driven the 160 mile round trip to Micro Center several times over the years and will be going back for anything that might arise in the future.
A while back I decided to build my first computer. I drove a hour to Micro Center, I told them I was a first time builder and had a list of parts I wanted to use. They assigned me a knowledgeable sales person to help me find everything I needed. He also made some suggestions that made a big difference in helping me build a computer. I’m happy to report that with that help, I was able to go home and build the computer in a day. That was a lot faster than I expected and it was because of the help and advice I received as part of the buying experience! I have been back since for other purchases, and have always found the sales people to be helpful and knowledgeable. They will price match, but their prices are usually great already. They have a vast amount of inventory too. And if there’s something specialized you need, then they can order it for you. If you need computer parts, you are better off going to Micro Center rather than buying from some other online only retailer. It’s a better overall experience in many ways. And my first computer is still running great over a year later.
Got a pc made here and after about 2 weeks the computer was acting up ( still is)It ook a good 12 days for them to tell me to bring it in (free if in 30day warranty period)30 days have passed due to me waiting for an email.. then they stopped replying of courseI live over 2 hours away and Im a completely disabled veteran. Thanks for the horrible customer service.
Helpful and knowledgeable employees. These employees were trying so hard to help me find a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, that when they didnt initially find what I wanted and I got in line to checkout, they kept running over to me while trying to check out with additional options. This, is how employees should behave. Yes, I realize they get a commission of some sort for everything they sell. However, when was the last time you had someone literally jog across a store to try and make sure you are aware of every fiber wrapped, USBC to USBC, charging cable, capable of rapid charging and moving massive amounts of data? Exactly! Thats why this place gets five stars.
Been a long time since I saw a true geek store. This place is well stocked with anything technology wise that you could possibly want to play with. Not only computers and electronics but a lot of stem and buildable stuff as well. Even some radio shack type parts selection. Highly recommended and would love to see some locations in Central Florida :-)
Great store. I come here for all of my computer needs. Beats having to wait for your product to arrive when shopping online. I happen to be the type of person who prefers to see the item in person rather than on a screen.Customer service is great. If you happen to stop by the Marietta location, then do yourself a favor and ask for Cade! The guy goes above and beyond to get you what youre looking for! A+
This place is a tech lovers dream. Anything you could possibly need to build your own PC or buy one already made. Printers, two way radios, UPSs, STEM projects, raspberry pi components. Competitive pricing. Employees must work on commission. Lots of employees on hand to help you. Social distancing measures have been implemented. They ask to spray your hands with sanitizer before entering. Employees keep people seperated well while waiting to check out.
Absolutely incredible customer service. Arrived right at close for a pickup but had issues yet everyone was more than happy to take the time to make sure I was satisfied and will definitely be shopping here instead of online now. Plus you can text them and 18min online pickup reservation.
Usually a place I have recommended for years but had a poor experience the most recent time I visited. Came in looking for a new laptop, went to the correct area and as best I could tell only one of the associates was busy at the time. There were another 3-4 associates who were standing around the island and looked in the direction of my boyfriend and I but not a single one asked us if we were looking for anything or were in need of help for the 5-10 minutes we stood there before we decided to leave.I’ve worked retail for a couple years so I fully understand it being difficult to check in with customers when it’s busy. However, with some of them appearing to be free and not one asking us if we needed anything it left a bad taste in my mouth.
---------------Update 3/14/17--------------Im very dissatisfied with the level of customer service I received when trying to get the currently popular Nvidia GeForce 1080 Ti. I saw online that there was 1 in stock so I called to ask if they could hold it for me and I was told that due to its high demand, its first come, first serve. So I drove over there immediately but I was too late for that one, which is fine because someone else beat me to it. Then another guy came in asking for that same one that I saw online. Another salesman, I believe hes the manager, said he had one for him and he whisked him off in order to sell it to him; even though I was in line before him! I should have been the one to receive it. I looked at the screen that he had pulled up and it showed qty 2 so I asked my salesman why he didnt know about those2 cards in stock and also if I could have the other one. He told me that they didnt show up for him when he searched so he didnt know about them. When we pulled up the sku, it didnt show anything on the website so it appeared that the other salesman had some sort of insider information that he used to his benefit in order to be the one to get credit for the sale; since I was working with another salesman. My salesman, Drew, was very professional and patient about the whole fiasco and he went to inquire about getting the other one for me. After speaking to the manager, he came back and informed me that it was being held for another customer. I told him that I was told over the phone that it was first come first serve and that they wont hold them. He said that I was correct and that is the policy but that he was informed by his manager that this was a special circumstance. The whole thing really infuriated me because a store shouldnt cherry pick their policy and I should have been entitled to either one of those cards because I was next in line and I was there in person on a first come first serve basis policy. Ive spent thousands at MicrCenter and I love the store but this experience really left a bad taste in my mouth and makes me reluctant to buy from them in the future.--------------------------------------------Sure, Micro Center isnt perfect, but its still amazing and I want it to continue to exist so I support it! It could be cleaner, more organized, have faster checkout and return service, but it has the best deals on computer parts and most of the employees actually know what theyre talking about! They have the best prices for Intel processors anywhere, even when compared online, and they give you a discount, usually $30, if you buy the mobo and cpu together. They also have the best prices on hard drives and its fun to see what they have on clearance.
Had to return my Nitro + 5700XT and they waived the restocking fee since I still had the box and the packing protection. Guy helping me understood the pain i was going through and got me a better card. They put the return on store credit so I didnt have to wait for my credit card company to return the funds back.
Staff was super helpful. I wasnt sure if the power supply they had available for the Ender 3 Pro would work on my Ender 3 (non-pro) 3D printer. He wasnt sure either, but he went searching through forums and YouTube to give an answer. Ill take the info for what its worth and not be mad if hes wrong, but his willingness to find me an answer was apprecoated.
Literally my most favorite place in the whole wide world. And I do mean the entire solar system. This place sells everything electronic that you could ever want and the staff is very knowledgeable. They dont try to oversell you or even undersell you. If you explain to them what you need they will help you find exactly what you need to do the job. I do like that their staff is price conscious when recommending a product. Overall its an awesome place and a good place to find that you can chit chat with customers as well as staff and its also a nice place to get ideas for projects. Its basically what RadioShack should have been but never became. This store will last forever. The best part? They are dog friendly... I love it.
Came into this location looking for PC parts. Saw associates asking other customers do they need assistance. I kept getting over looked. This is not the first time I’ve had this issue with this location. This is the 3rd time. Ms. Valerie is always a big help! Best associate ever! I’m starting to think it’s profiling going on. Especially with several reviews the same as mine. My money is just as good as the next customer. Store was definitely not busy. I was there at opening. I eventually walked out tired of feeling like I’m not welcome. Do better!
I purchased a new computer and printer here recently as a first time customer to Micro Center. Foley, the associate who guided me through the process, was great. He asked questions and listened to what I was looking for both feature wise and price wise and showed me some good options to choose from. He fully explained the positives and differences between the machines. He offered additional items but was in no way pushy or trying to upsell. I really appreciated his customer service manner. Overall very satisfied with the product. The manager also spoke to me to make sure I received good service and got everything I needed. I would much rather shop here than a big box store or buy on line, the customer experience is much better.
There are some really intelligent and helpful staff here. its not always like this at microcenter and this one is special. The computer building crew is a crack team of experts and they will take care of you ever step of the way. I DO NOT however like how the managers treat the employees here, they are obviously over worked and treated poorly. The store is awesome besides the overwhelming sales quotas that they push in your face constantly.
When you are buying a PC, they treat you with the respect that a customer should be treated with, very helpful with picking out the correct pieces. Running up the prices with no issue. Once you have an issue that is covered under warranty however the customer service goes right out the window. I have been back and forth with my PC for the past two weeks trying to understand why it was not fixed correctly the first time and why it is so difficult to get any communication on how long my PC will be on site this time. There is no phone number to the store that anyone will actually answer either. the line they ask you to text is never monitored or answered unless they are ready for you to pick up your PC. The customers time is valuable just as the stores time is. Ignoring the customer is not a very good way to conduct business.
Showed up 15 minutes before closing and was able to secure all the components I needed for my new PC build. Price was best on most and, where not, they price-matched competitors. Shoan Douglas (Build-Your-Own specialist) helped with the process and was simply amazing - knowledgeable, fast, friendly.
At first the service was amazing , super quick and in point. I walked in the store already knowing what I wanted to purchase. When I got to the register I had an issue with my Apple Pay, the manager was very dismissive and I felt profiled. I asked if they could type in my card information and I presented my ID along with a print out of my Amex card bc I had not received the physical card yet, the manager observed it and said no. I asked if they could hold my over $2000 purchase for me and the manager asked my name but didn’t write it down, just sent me on my way. As a business owner myself I am very displeased with the customer service, why examine the print out of my card if it couldn’t be processed manually anyway?
I usually go to Duluth but this location was really great. I drive all the way from Alabama to come here. I got a laptop for school this time. Mr. Greg Schulz was VERY helpful! I had come with a particular computer in mind but he listened to what I wanted it to be able to do and sold me a different laptop. I really like the one he helped me pick and he really listened to what I wanted. Definitely will be coming back :)
Older female profiled me, an older white man in work clothes as not deserving her attention other than to treat me as a shoplifter, than sent to apple / TV area to be ignored because Im not a female or of color... sad a place the I USED like has become this type of place
I’ve visited this location twice. The staff are very polite however can sometimes come on a little strong. Organization could be a bit better in the aisles but otherwise I like this location and I trust that the people working there know what they are talking about. I really liked the wide selection of headphones and computer mice. This location is nearly an hour away from me however I would much rather make the drive to come here vs a different retailer.
I have been shopping at microcenter for years now. They always have an amazing selection of merchandise. The staff is super friendly and will help you find whatever you need. They do price matching against competitors. They have an amazing item protection plan. For all you electronic needs go here 10/10 A+
Daughter and her boyfriend went into the Marietta store to shop for a new laptop. They stood there waiting for someone to come help them for 10 minutes before walking out. There were 4 employees standing there talking to each other and looking at my daughter and her boyfriend who were obvious about needing assistance but the employees NEVER took one step toward them to offer their “expertise.” The store was not busy so there was no excuse for the employees not helping potential customers. I have purchased 4 MacBooks from this store and the boyfriend that was with my daughter had just purchased a laptop from this store 2 weeks ago after we recommended the store. We won’t be recommending the store to anyone else.
I am an electrical engineer with over three years experience in computer hardware and I used to love going to micro center, over the past year they’re customer service has become atrocious. Every time I go into the store I am talked down to in a very demeaning way as if I have no idea what I’m talking about, whenever I look for certain items that are displayed on their website I am told they do not carry said items and am told to buy something that is much more expensive, just for me to show them the item on their website that is met with an eye roll. They find the product, slap their sticker on the item and walk away angry, this is unacceptable behavior and I am tired of shopping at micro center, I don’t appreciate trying to be swindled into buying a product for 5 times the price when I have explicitly told them what I am looking for and they choose to ignore it in hopes of a higher commission. I have kept trying to shop from micro center because I appreciate their products and services but I will no longer being shopping their because of their incredibly poor customer service and attitudes, it is very upsetting to be treated as if I have no idea what I am talking about because they are trying to pull more in commission. Unacceptable.
The lines are super, super, long - BUT - they run through the line pretty quickly. Its best to go in right when they open at 10am. For your best experience, buy online with 18 minute pickup and THEN head on over to the store to pay and pickup your purchase. If youre in the store shopping, and see an empty shelf, no worries - they might have your item up front in backstock storage.Staff is competent and knowledgeable about the products in their assigned area. Berry respectful.I go here because I know Ill get quality products without the worry of whether our not shipping will arrive on time (or at all).
Bought an entire gaming set up from Micro Center here in Marietta. Ive done over 50 PC builds and i couldnt get this one to boot up. Turns out the motherboard and power supply *THEY SOLD ME* were both bad. They charged 40$ to diagnose 2 faulty components that they sold to me. Very unprofessional. Will not have my business again. I encourage those in Marietta to buy elsewhere. **UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS*
Daniel Tex Greene is my go to guy for all things Tech at MicroCenter. They survived the brick and mortar retail purge because they have what I need at a fair price. It helps that the sales staff have a pulse on the industry too! Who knew graphics cards were going to be constrained? (Hint - they did)
Ill never take my computer anywhere else! This place was fantastic! We had our iMAC 27 hard drive replaced and had the absolute best service! While unfortunately it was too far gone to save the data, Lance worked with me to on my plan B backup and was super patient, answering all my questions!
They have lots of product on the shelves and staff that knows what they are talking about. They are a treasure. They had what they said was in stock! Sales person was friendly, patient and helped me get all the stuff I needed to go with the computer I bought. You dont get that shopping on amazon!
Great place, very nice people, got my parts to bulid my first pc here. Whether youre looking for a powerful bulid or somewhere to start off with. This is the place to go as you have plethora (or large amounts) of options to pick. Youre guided through the whole entire process of picking parts that fit your budget to actually getting it bulit in the same store! Also they have coverage here in case something goes wrong. Always a joy coming back for buying better parts or buliding a new pc for my little brothers.
This is one of only two micro centers in Atlanta and Im lucky to live near this one. I buy basically half of all my technology equipment from this store. Like most places here in Atlanta the staff is spread a little thin so sometimes its a little difficult to get somebody to help you but once people get tired of taking unemployment I think theyll come back to work and everything will go back to being just its only usually difficult to get somebody to help you.
It was my first visit and the store was amazing. I found the hard to locate item i was looking with relative ease and checked out. I later checked my receipt to learn I had been charged $24.99 for an item I had decided against and the cashier removed from my order. That is when the disaster began. There was NO WAY to contact the store to correct the error and secure a fair refund. I tried telephone--no number for the local store, only for the national chain--hold times in excess of 60 minutes. Then I tried the so called real time chat feature. I entered my chat and was told I was 97 in the queue. This review gives 5 stars for the store and its merchandise selection and -0 for its so called customer service and support. Lesson learned, be very careful when you purchase anything at your local Micro Center store.
The computer employee was rude, not interested in selling. We left purchased our computer from another store. Bad attitude for an older employee. To the Owner...thank you for responding. What was really distasteful about this incident is we drove 25 miles to purchase a refurbished unit. For some...price is important. The computer sales person, realizing this was not going to be a $$$$$ sale, did two things: 1.) He stated that a 4gig computer would not be adequate for Internet surfing, and, 2.) sent us to the tablet department. The Tablet Guy was kind..took us back to the computer sales guy who blew us all off.We ended up purchasing a 4gig NEW HP...from a mass market store. The computer sales guy missed a sale...and...lost face with a customer. Maybe just one...maybe many others. When someone comes in to BUY...learn the lesson: Write the Order.
Everything computer electronics. Can be very overwhelming walking into to any Microcenter, so I would recommend bringing a knowledgeable person/friend who can advise you. Though the store has many helpful associates who are very knowledgeable, they do not have the time to teach anything technical so you can make an informed decision. Like car shopping, try to do homework and seek advice prior to going. Like any store, Microcenter will try to sell items that will appear to be just what you are looking for. Information is power, so know the differences or have someone with you who can help. Most likely you will find what you are looking for. Return policy good and they have a customer service center that will service or fix your computer. I highly recommend them.
We had to evacuate the building. They tried to do it quietly as opposed to making an announcement. Service was ok. I asked for a particular product the guy just walked me to the area & said u can find it here. When I didnt locate it he said oh we are out of stock for that & walked away. Not the type of customer service I usually receive when I visit. They are quick to put a sticker on the packaging.
This store has the worst customer service and support I have ever experienced. You have to do a deep dive on the web to even get their phone number. They are very slow to respond to their support forum or emails. In store the service is great. This problem is due to bad management. Recently made an order, website said everything I requested was in inventory. When they sent me my email they informed me that one item is out of stock. They gave no inclination in the email as to what becomes of the money I paid for the item or when it will be available. I am finding it impossible to get in contact with anyone. If they fixed this horrible customer service issue that is constan, this would be an awesome place to do business. I literally abhor having to give these people money just to get amazon type prices but not have to wait for delivery. Please fix this customer service vacuum.
Deserves 5 stars, went and picked up a ryzen 5950, as well as a few other parts. Each employee was informative and very helpful. Make sure I got whatever I needed that was available. Great experience. I just wish they had the NVIDIA 3090 or 3080 in stock, and I would of have everything I needed for my new computer build.
Micro center has always been super helpful in whatever question or project we needed. Theres isnt anyone hovering over you and hounding you about purchasing something. When you need help, its fairly easy to find it. Theyve helped me numerous times whether finding parts for a build or recommending a monitor for my fiance. 10/10
The staff seems so overwhelmed and concerned about making the sale that they don’t take the time to properly recommend or discuss solutions with customers. I went in for a few specific things as an INFORMED customer... I showed the rep my current parts already bought at best buy to see if they had a SSD, HDD, or RAM set that was better priced for the same features/performance or better. The Rep quickly recommended a 2TB M.2 SSD to me and I didn’t realize until AFTER i got home that the SSD did not have DRAM like the original SSD i purchased. So i drove back to microcenter to return it.. i asked the rep “please ensure you return the money back onto the STORE CREDIT CARD, NOT the other prepaid visa used.” What happens, sigh, the refund was put back on my prepaid visas and now I have to pay the full balance of this credit card and have to find another use for my visas I specifically set aside for use towards my pc build.Needless to say, I felt like they spent more time trying to get me out of the door instead of trying to help me get the RIGHT support.I’m giving them three stars simply for selection, nothing really comes close to it for a local shop that has all your pc build needs.. but when it comes to actual selling process and solution focused customer service.. things are VERY rushed. Be sure you slow down and look into any recommendation they make to double check it fits your needs.GG my saturday, this was a 2 hr drive for me🤣
I went into the store with clear criteria. One of the biggest being that I work with three monitors. The sales rep said the one I ended up purchasing would do this. I got the computer on a Wednesday. I worked with it and fought with it until today (Sunday) when I contacted support and was told that what the sales rep sold me wouldn’t support my three monitors and that I need to purchase something additional from them. That might have been okay if I had been told at the time that the computer doesn’t support them. But to tell me after I’ve wasted countless hours and a good bit of money that I now need something else is a poor response. Online tech support was no help either. This isn’t my first poor experience with MicroCenter, but it will be my last.
This was our first trip to a Micro Center and we were not disappointed. The place was a clutter of electronic goodies, maybe a wee bit too cluttered. We were assisted by a very accommodating associate named Greg Schulz. With Gregs aid, we brought home two ultrawide monitors which we are now enjoying immensely! We would not have considered purchasing these monitors if we did not see how they performed in person. One of the very young associates also helped our son browse for a microphone, even though the chance of selling the mic was low. Service was friendly and the price we paid for the monitors was well under market price. This trip was well worth the six hour drive!
20+ years I have shopped at this location. Their service and variety have only gotten better with time. Competitive pricing to online and if they are above prices, just ask, they may adjust to find a compromise. Love This Place! I love this place like I love the hardware store!
One of the few brick and mortar places around where you can go and grab kit electronics, cables, tools, gear, parts, hardware and more. Also has a great selection of prebuilt computers/towers, audio and accessories. Prices are competitive and the sales staff is generally mostly quite knowledgeable. Can get very busy at times and despite the glut of staff it can be hard to grab one for questions.
For those who are worried about the negative reviews here, let me share my experience today. I showed up at 9:55am as recommended by other reviews. I also made an online reservation the day before. I was back in my truck with my monitor and RAM by 10:02am and there was no one else behind me in line, I would highly recommend reserving online, it was fairly easy to find products by using multiple filters to find exactly what youre looking for in all categories of products.Never being to a Micro Center before, I took my online reservation items to my vehicle and then went back into the store to check it out. As others stated, there are many staff members walking around asking you if you need help but are not pushy whatsoever. Although we were all wearing masks for the pandemic, you could tell by their demeanor that they were happy to help if you needed it.Finally, Ive been looking for a specific processor that Micro Center had on sale but it has been sold out for 2-3 weeks. I checked online for it everyday and it never came back in stock. While I was looking at comparable processors in store (with no intention to buy any) an employee approached me and asked if I needed anything. I explained to him the above and he says they just got two in stock this morning and he had them in his hand at that moment. He offered me one and I said I would need a few minutes to decide because I honestly had no intentions of finding one today so he offered to put one away for me at the checkout in case I decided to purchase one. The closest price match I could find to it was 15% more expensive so I walked up to checkout and said someone put away a possessor for me and the cashier went to get it for me. I waited in the regular line for about 5 mins. If youre looking for something specific that is sold out, just ask. You never know, the first person you ask may have it in their hand. September 4th, 2020.
I have been going there for over 20 years. Selection is great, service is better. Occasionally they are somewhat more expensive but I havent seen anything like their tech support. You can pay HP or Dell $40 or more to ask a question about an out of warranty device or go to Microcenter for great free advice. You cant go wrong going there.2021 they dont provide the free tech support like they used to, a casualty of having to compete with Amazon but theyre still helpful.
In-store only products are a terrible idea during the pandemic. I could have ordered the same product from Amazon for the same price but wanted to support my local brick and mortar store. But no good deed goes unpunished. I had to wait in a long line with guy behind me with no sense of personal space. When I asked him nicely to not crowd me, he laid into me verbally and threatened to fight me outside. The store was crowded and no one seemed to care about masks or social distancing. Other MC locations offer curbside pickup. Why not Marietta? Ill be ordering my parts online from now on.
Best computer store in the city and possibly the country in terms of physical brick and mortar computer stores.Only annoying thing is the staff, who are excellent, get paid on commission. Its a bit annoying to get talked to when youre going for one item.Otherwise, if you need any computer part, head to Micro Center today!
Went in to get a new processor. Online said they had 3 in stock. When I get there I am told they are on hold for customers with vouchers because they were outside waiting when store was not open and they had 24 hours to claim the vouchers. My understanding was it was first come first serve and there were no holding. Also if the customer was waiting for the store to open to purchase the processor why didn’t they go in and get it then? I felt there was some kind of scam going on.
I second the review before me. I ordered for in store pick up, i ordered, pay and get an email saying the item is not in stock. Then, I find out there is no more phone number to the store. I’m cancelling my order and will never shop here again. I’ve spent thousands of dollars here but never again. This type of mistake is inexcusable. In store may be fine but if I were you, I’d not trust the online ordering or inventory.
Microcenter has bunches of various systems and laptops, but the majority of the store (90%) is in the collections of various parts and supplies. You could build your own system just like you want from all of the boards, cables, chips, and peripherals, but normally a pre-existing package will be lower cost. They also have a digital camera support area, a build your own robotics/pi area, plus a good selection of networking items. The selections include items and small businesses, but larger businesses will buy in bulk elsewhere. For an emergency hard drive or video card (some of the higher end ones as well) its easy to get in and out in a hurry.Be wary of the relatively aggressive sales staff, though. Most (I am told) get commissions. They want to mark your purchases to get credit for them, even if they just wished you a good day.
I love this place and would rate 5 stars if they had a phone number for the store. I purchased something from the store and I think they sold me the wrong item. The number is gone on google so now I have to waste an hour driving there just to ask them. This is very frustrating and if they don’t add back phone service I will be ordering all my Christmas items from Newegg. We also spend to the upwards of over $20,000 per year on computer equipment for over 700 units and locations and having a phone service number for the store is imperative. Please respond if this is temporary or not.
Sales associate Kylie was amazing! She took the extra time to explain ALL the components of the computers I was interested in, was patient (even with a lower priced sale), and offered relevant upgrades and accessories. I was then introduced to the manager who was very friendly. I felt no pressure to buy and ended up spending more than planned so I could get what I needed. This was a fantastic experience. Ill be a return customer for sure! 5 stars all the way, I wish I could give 10!
The idea behind Microcenter is great: A local store that carries all sorts of tech gear. The problem is management. Each time Im in there, extremely long lines, very slow checkout, and managers standing around. Seems like each time Ive been in the store, managers are arguing with customers, or theyre treating employees poorly. This translates to employees that hate their job, and its very obvious.Their website is also terrible: You can search for what you want, but many of the products are not on display. If you want to see a laptop not on display, good luck, youre told to buy it. Fine, but then you have to stand in a 30 minute line. Some things you can purchase online with in store pickup, but even this is just a reservation then when you get there you have to stand in line, wait for them to hopefully find your items, and then you checkout normally. I dont know why they cant just learn from Best Buy, let you pay on the web, and when you arrive, spend a few minutes waiting while the employees grab your item and you leave.
So I went to get some help with just a couple pieces of hardware. The first sales person was clearly only concerned with making a commission but couldnt be bothered with 8 dollars in parts. I left not sure of my purchase.Note: I have been a pretty loyal customer over there for decades. Bought a TV, multiple computers and laptops, and other major ticket items as well as cabling, wire management, etc. Usually with a decent experience. Well, on my first trip there today, it was busy, and clearly this guy had no interest in helping me. I got the wrong parts and went home only to have to return. Upon my return I went in a little irritated. The next sales guy, Matt, came over listened to my problem, was very sympathetic, to my plight, dug through the history of the case I had to get parts for (so I thought, and said, You dont need mounts, that hard drive will fit right here... looking at the case he pulled up online. After going around and around for a bit, I realized he might be right. Well, he was. I didnt spend another dime, and Matt solved my problem. This is good customer service. To the owners / managers, take good care of Matt. Fire people who dont treat every customer like a high end purchasing customer. Next time, I hope Matt is there when I make my next big purchase...on second thought, I hope he gets a much better job.
I was offered no help, calling the store is a waist of time, one employee assumed I was stealing instead of offering assistance. I will be returning my purchase because it doesn’t work however I could have made the wrong choice. Plenty of employees not doing anything impactful. Some help would have been nice. I wont be returning.
I love that they still carry hard to find products, and a wide variety of enthusiast parts. Matt L. was great, he worked with me to find a high-demand item, going way above and beyond what you would expect out of any retail store. Overall the prices are amazing, and the associates are very knowledgable, and Ive sent several of my own customers here whove had exemplary experiences as well.
This place is not for the experienced tech person. I was looking for parts for my 4th pc build and decided to drive 45 minutes to check this store out. Sales associates were hard to track down and when I did find one available, he acted as if it I was interrupting him from doing nothing. As I’m telling him what I need he starts throwing around unnecessary tech jargon, taking a smug tone. And the line was ridiculously long but it did move fast.If you’re someone who knows their way around tech, I suggest using NewEgg or Amazon. Heck Best Buy is a better option than this place.
Excellent store with a collection of data sticks, flash drives, and any other electronic need you may have. This location was rather busy upon my last visit and wait times were longer than expected, but overall my stop was quick and I was able to find and purchase exactly what I came there looking for concerning my electronic needs at the time. Prices are reasonable and several useful items were on clearance.
The store is your typical warehouse build but they have a very attentive and friendly staff. Less than two minutes in and someone noticed I was confused, assisted me with making the best purchasing choice and located everything I needed. This is the level of service that I love because I detest long drawn out adventures in stores. Highly recommended.
You cannot call this business to ask a question! The only way to get information about products is a chat and email. Through chat, we were told we needed to come in person to get that particular question answered. Using email, we were lied to about the process for obtaining the rare computer part we needed. In the end we had to obtain the necessary information via third party social media. Its fine if you have a procedure for obtaining parts, we dont mind jumping through the necessary hoops to get a part. BUT TELL US HOW TO DO IT, AND DONT LIE ABOUT THE PROCESS.
What can I say, its Micro Center. Great if you need stuff same-day, not so great if you care too much about service. Staff seem more interested in visiting with each other, which would be fine if you didnt have to beg them to get some categories out of lock-up for you. Consider doing an online pickup order instead unless you have a whole day to kill or are comparing monitors.
Love the selection. They have more than any other computer store I’ve been to. They always price match with Amazon which is great. My only complaint is that I have had a few experiences where the associates seem not to care unless you seem helpless and can be upsold. I couldn’t seem to get help getting a certain monitor and went I finally decided to get it myself not even a minute later I had an employee walk up to me, ask who was helping me, when I said I hadn’t been able to get any help he put his employee sticker on my box and said to let him know if I needed any help, however when I asked for assistance getting a ssd out of the glass case he told me “he can help you” pointing to another associate and walked off. This isn’t my only negative experience with the staff but there’s a young man that wears glasses (unfortunately I can’t remember his name) who was very helpful when I went in to get a new NZXT h510 elite a few months ago. Keep up the good work buddy, next time I see you I’ll be sure to catch your name and update the review to give you some recognition!
Update 11/27/19 This place is better than ever!Let me start by saying that Joe is the guy to talk to about PC parts! He was very helpful and friendly too! He seemed genuinely happy to talk to me and share his thoughts about my build! This guy made sure I got what I needed and made my shopping experience enjoyable!I truly appreciated his help on this trip. I also want to thank Mark in service for flashing my bios on my brand new X570 board. When I first pulled up i was thinking oh that doesnt look like much but was I wrong, WOW! The selection was amazing I mean they have a huge selection! The Staff was very knowledgable and happy to help me and even made me laugh. The Prices Where amazing i got a great deal on a I7 2600k i saved almost 50 bucks! Great displays and they had everything from water cooling to a nice case modding section. In my opinion the amazing sales staff that are interested in what you have to say and know what you are talking about far outweighs a few minutes on hold. When I left that Store I could not stop thinking WOW ! My friend who has been a life long Tiger fan said well I got a new store to shop at. Drove from Knoxville and was well worth the trip!
I had such an excellent experience with my visit at this store. While it is very obvious that the staff is working on a commission or bonus structure for compensation, they are all very well trained so as to compensate for that. Staff is all well versed about the items they are selling to you, no matter what it may be. If they happen to not know? They will find out for you. Asia helped me find EVERY item I was looking for (and I was looking for several), and went so far as to walk through the store with me. She is absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend you seek her out. All in all, I was extremely impressed with this store, and will absolutely be returning when I get ready to upgrade my system further.
I have been going to Micro Center since they opened, and I still miss the mugs they used to have (I am surprised they don’t at least sell them). Unlike back then the shelves are closer together and higher as they are trying to keep the location profitable, it is still a good alternative to ordering online.
This place used to be great. My fiancee and I are both in the entertainment industry and weve noticed everything from microphones to laptop chargers being discontinued or out of stock. The manager in the bright blue shirt was dismissive and rude. This was after I made a purchase based on the salesfloor persons opinion only to return it moments later. Very disappointing experience. I now think youre better off ordering online to avoid the bad customer service, actually finding what you need and not wasting your time.
The absolute best local computer / computer parts store. Think of it as a radio shack - meets apple store - meets best buy computer section. If you dont wait for parts/equip to get shipped from Amazon or tiger direct - you must take the short drive to this place. Every city/town needs a microcenter!
This store was great, in out and boom i got my parts. Unbeatable prices, beats out new-egg and other large computer online storefronts. The employees are great, directed me towards some thermal paste. Apple products are sold here. Really great service, best store experience i have ever had. The Tv and monitor prices here cant be beat!

2022-03-08If its computer related Microcenter most likely has it. PC gaming components are popular and the stock was good. CPUs and GPUs and Motherboards all in stocks. Let me highlight one more thing that should not be overlooked, The Employees are super helpful and are Not trying to push something on you just to make a sale. I like very much.

2022-01-12Loved the selection. From monitors, to hardware, to peripherals, there is plenty to choose from. Plenty of sales staff that are helpful, but not pushy. Plus, their prices are very competitive. I bought 2 monitors for $60 less than I saw anywhere else. Many of the other items I saw matched the price of Amazon. All in all, a 5 star spot for your gear!

2022-03-01The prices on the electronics are fair and they have such a great selection. My only issue is that It felt walking into a car dealership with sales people just coming from all over the place at me. I just wanna kinda walk through the isles and pick my parts with out trying to be up sold stuff I don’t want in the first place. Not blaming the staff for this practice I know it’s not their fault. Good people work here! Just business practice from the company itself kinda sucks.

2022-04-20If you really like building PCs or anything related to tech, this is the perfect place for you. I have been to several computer places and this one has the widest selection of PC parts, monitors, keyboards, audio equipment, cameras, you name it. The store was well-orgainized so I can grab what I need faster. I even had a laptop with a bad battery and they had the exact battery I needed! Also the associates were nice and they treated me like family. I will give this place 10 stars if I can! Would recommend going there if you need anything tech-related.

2022-02-14The staff is very knowledgeable on all the products. We drove 2 hours just to have them build my daughters computer. We came there with the list my daughter created and they went and got all the components for us. Try were able to build the computer for us the same day.

2022-03-15The Micro Center located in Marietta exceeded my expectations. Not only were they knowledgeable about their products but they also went the extra mile to make sure I had what I needed or they found something comparable. Ill be going back there for all of my electronic needs. The customer service was excellent. And they really work together well. Great place!!

2022-05-06Awesome store with mostly awesome people. The front end manager with flip up lens on his glasses was very rude and 0 help when I was trying to get the ender 3. Honestly wish I had talk to the store manager. Its A shame everyone that works there and especially the cashier and guy that helped me with 3d print stuff are great but theres always got to be that one. Thankfully the cashier is better than his boss!! 3 star because of 1 person. Otherwise 5!!
