Stumbled across this restaurant while googling local seafood restaurants. It was super close and the menu looked delicious. I called in a pick up order and the woman who answered was wonderful, very pleasant. After placing an order she said it would be ready in 25 minutes (not a bad wait). I will say I was a bit surprised to only have one piece of catfish in each of the catfish dinners I ordered (I was expecting at least 2). The catfish tasted great, we also had a few sides with the dinners that included potato salad, fries, coleslaw and sweet potato soufflé (they were all wonderful). Overall the customer service, wait time and food were all great but would definitely suggest at least two pieces of fish in the fish dinners 😉
Food is amazing! It is cooked to order, so it arrives at your table fresh and flavorful. The collards are some of the best Ive ever eaten, outside of my familys kitchen. Staff is very friendly and very helpful. Big menu and lots of vegetarian choices. I highly recommend you visit soon!
Holy moly this place is awesome. Just ordered from here for the first time tonight and Im in love. I love cajun food, New Orleans being, in my humble opinion, the finest source of food in the United States and possibly the world, and this place delivers! Great po-boys, great shrimp, great red beans and rice, great sides. Nothing not to love. Will definitely make this a regular favorite!
Really good food and the owner is super nice! Very personable and they have a very good menu thats based on a New Orleans theme for their food. The prices are moderate, but you get very large portions for what you pay. They really put their hearts into their craft as the food was very delicious and well prepared. I had a shrimp Po Boy and seasoned fries. Good stuff!!!If you want original New Orleans cooking, then this is the place for you. They also serve breakfast as well which is a bonus. They need larger signage near the street in order to be better noticed in that strip mall though, as people on the road are driving 55 mph and usually dont look in that direction as theyre trying to get in front of you so that they can take flight for their trip to heaven.I hope they do well. Great food and equally great people!
Ive been in atlanta for 30 plus years. Moved here from Louisiana. Were always looking for a great place that knows how to really cook Louisiana food. We found it today. Will definitely be back. All the food is fresh and from Louisiana. You should definitely try it out!
Great atmosphere, customer service was exceptionally phenomenal, and food was delicious. My meal consisted of a healthy serving of Jambalaya, generous amount of collard greens topped off with cornbread. My first visit here, but definitely not my last....when I come back to GA it will definitely be on my to do list
This is the best tasting creole food I have ever had, besides my mother’s. I ordered the catfish, vegetarian jambalaya, collard greens, and red beans and rice for an event I hosted. We also ordered some items from another “soul food” restaurant. Needless to say all of the food from Mom’s was eaten first! All of the leftovers were from “the other place.” This food is seasoned just right and you can taste the “love” in this food. This will be our go to from now on! Thanks Tim, for the excellent service and food!
730 Wednesday night to go order. Service was ok, though when I returned to pick up my order, i was ignored for several minutes while the cashier carried on a personal conversation. Gator bites and frog legs, fries, collard greens, hush puppies, corn bread. they were out of crawfish and dirty rice. Sides were good. Gator bites were over-breaded and under seasoned, the gator flavor was totally lost, Im not even sure how much meat was in the Nugget. Frog legs were juicy and well cooked, seasoned fine. My biggest issue is that they claim Baton rouge origins, but the food and seasoning was as basic as it gets. Nothing about this meal said Louisiana or Creole to me, there was no personality to it. I dont think Ill go back.
Unbelievable! My son & I stumbled across the restaurant as he was starving after soccer practice and begged me to try this place. Service was great! The food was amazing!!! We will definitely be regulars! Lots of food for the price! Mac n chz and baked chicken is so good!
First time ordering a few days ago. Food is plentiful and the resturant is nice and clean. Food smells delicious and tastes pretty good. Just a tad more seasoning in the dirty rice & the fish fry for the fish and oysters would be perfect. I would still order from here again.
I love this place.. My family and I always come here and it never fails. The food is so flavorful, the Mac n cheese and yams ummmmmm um. The owner Mrs. Brandy, man oh man she is the best. Customer service always on point. She is very attentive and welcoming. If you are in town this is definitely the place to come, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
Hubby surprised me with a takeout platter of red beans & rice, sweet potato casserole, & cornbread. The food was fresh, steaming hot, extremely well seasoned, and full of creole flavor. He said the service was attentive, helpful, and welcoming. We will definitely add Moms to our order out rotation.UPDATE: recently we ordered a catfish dinner. The entree contained ONE THIN SLICE OF CATFISH. We are more than willing to pay good money for good food. Two - three filets is what we expect when we order a catfish dinner. (Catch up with PAPPADEAUX!)
My wife called to place an order...she was told no orders were being taken over the phone....so I drove over there and arrived 15 minutes prior to the advertised closing time only to be met with a locked door. I spoke with a young lady who was mopping or sweeping the floor, and she told me they were closed even though it was not closing time yet... and the open sign on the door was illuminated. It is very difficult to support certain black-owned businesses when black owned businesses dont even treat their own right. We will not be doing business with this eestablishment. Someone needs to teach them how to do business properly.
I absolutely LOVE their vegetarian options. Their gumbo is delicious and their veggie burger is to die for. All their sides are delicious. Theyre on the procier side though. My girlfriend loves their cornbread. Definitely recommend calling it in early even if you’re dining in. They take their time. We had a slightly loud family that came about 30 minutes before closing and they were very kind and patient.
Very good food. Well seasoned. Nice portions. Even have vegetarian choices, like gumbo, jambalaya, etc. Pleasant staff, owner and cook. Everything is cooked when ordered. No microwaving or hot lamps. So theres at least a 15 minute wait, but worth it. So weve had the catfish nuggets, whiting dinner (its not whitefish), seafood gumbo (with large shrimp & crab legs. Its spicy if youre into that), fried oysters, gator bites poboy, crawfish tail dinner, BBQ ribs & chicken (a weekend special) red beans & rice, collard greens and Mac & cheese. All of it was DELISH!
Our meal was good but it took quite a while for it to come out. Also, it came out in shifts. My husband received his po boy and fries. About 3 minutes later, his red beans and rice came along with my collards. Finally, my meal came out. Also, although we paid for Cole slaw, it was never delivered. We will probably try one more time. My hope is that it was just an off day for them.
I will never go to this place again. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Me and my boyfriend wanted to really give this place a chance since we live so close we FINALLY did. So we get to the location, which there is nothing wrong with that part. Its an air conditioned restaurant with a friendly staff. So I ordered Tilapia meal with coleslaw, onion rings and cornbread and he ordered the seafood soup with ALL the fixins and some cornbread himself. The order came out to be about $25. Which is a normal price for two people to eat a meal at a resturant nowadays. After waiting about 30 mins we FINALLY received our to go food. 5 mins later we got home opened our trays and both looked at it already disappointed. The serving sizes were like children size one piece of tilapia, a half of hand full of onion rings a thimble full of Cole slaw and a piece of cornbread the size of a 5 year olds fist, not to mention everything tasted like nothing there was no love, salt, pepper, spice, NOTHING. How do you call yourself a Creole place and your food taste BLAND amd rubbery. I will never go here again, nor would I refer any person I actually care about to this place. Next time Ill stay in and order Chinese food delivery for 20 people for $25. At least I know its good and they will bring my food to me
I give two stars, because we did get our food in a timely manner and staff was friendly and helpful. My husband and I was to get dinner and we decided to go here take out. We ordered the 2 fish and shrimps dinners one with red beans and rice and the other one with dirty rice. Once we got home and took the food out the bag we both felt cheated with the amount of food er received for the money we spent. the sides were in containers that condiments should be in. Coleslaw in a ketchup container (never seen that before, like putting coleslaw in a shot glass. The sides was put in the container that maybe the coleslaw should have been in. So, my take is, fool me once, thats it. If I pay $30 for 2 dinners, Id rather go to o shucks or bay breeze, where they are not skimpy on the amount of food......we received 5 shrimps per dinner. I dont know if owners have done and assessment other restaurants to see quality and quantity of food for price, if not, I think you should.Pictures are below from my iPad
Just wanted to cosign the review who called out the customer service as being hot or cold. I normally dont like to jump on the middle aged bandwagon of making unnecessary reviews because someone didnt kiss your butt but as someone who knows how much it sucks to work in customer service, this is really bad customer service. I wasnt in the best mood for sure but my wife was with me so I let her do the talking. She was nothing but nice and walked up with a list of four orders because they said they couldnt take orders on the phone as they were too busy.Things started fair enough but the woman (the owner?) taking the orders seemed a little taken aback that we had such a big order. She instructed me to use the credit card terminal and was annoyed that I removed my card too early so she started condescending to me to remind me how much of her time I was wasting. At first I felt bad that I was only tipping 3 bucks on a 47 dollar order because, hey, we all have bad days right? I didnt feel so bad after she immediately told me she needed me to smile for her. I guess thats a weird thing lots of the older generation think is cool to ask of people so I jokingly forced one for her. She then made sure to reassure us that it could be a long wait as if she wanted us to back out of the order. We didnt. We sat to the side at a table for 45-50 minutes waiting for the food. She said there would be a wait so she wasnt lying. We didnt once bother her or nag her about waiting. She also did us the courtesy of never checking in on us as she ran around saying Hi to everyone else so I guess we rubbed her the wrong way. Finally our order was up and would you believe: she didnt even offer us a smile- the one I had so begrudgingly gave her earlier. As a last-ditch effort to get some semblance of humanity back we asked for some tartar sauce. She said there should be one in the box and upon our request sadly walked to the back to grab us one tiny container to go with the nearly 50 bucks worth of food.I hate that I had to write this or sink any more time or emotion into such a garbage experience but lord Ive honestly never been so bothered to have to write an unnecessarily long bad review. I think Ill retire after this one as it must be my magnum opus. But hey- the food was actually pretty good. Not enough to make up for her.One Star.
This place is good.In this unassuming little shopping center, is authentic Cajun goodness. The chicken and andouille sausage jambalaya is packed full of flavor with a little heat. The fried crawfish tails are cooked perfectly with the right balance of creole batter. You can taste the meat, the seasoning, and the batter in every bite. The roumelade sauce is chilled and delicious; a tad spicy, but not overpowering. Just keep the cornbread close, which is rich, moist, and sweet; exactly how I like it. I just wish my stomach was bigger. They also serve Louisiana favorites like gator, frog legs, and oysters.Genuine hospitality from the folks here. I’ll be back.
The absolute WORST customer service I have ever received. The woman I believe to be the owner took our order, and was horribly rude for no apparent reason. After our 45 minute wait she seemed bothered by my presence while handing me the food. The food is actually great if you dont mind unnecessary hostility.
Mamas Creole Cookin is no joke! I got the fried crawfish tails and they were spot on. Not over breaded and just enough spice/seasoning. As for the portion of food (which I noticed was a complaint) I was very satisfied and left full. My meal was about $11.00 which can be a bit much for lunch but how often do you get to enjoy some authentic creole cooking. I will be back soon to try more
Found this new family-owned Cajun & Creole restaurant tucked away on Hwy 78 in a strip mall between Loganville & Snellville with a large and varied menu which includes Shrimp Etouffe, Shrimp & Grits, PoBoys sandwiches, within a warm & inviting interior. There are a few tables for eating in or you can take out. If you like Cajun, spicy food, then Moms Creole Cooking is for you. We had the Creole pasta plate with Shrimps and collard greens & red beans & chicken plate with potato salad. Food is well seasoned and very tasty & the prices were very affordable. So glad to have down-south creole cuisine without having to travel to New Orleans; we will be back again.
Since this spot is right near my home, I am kinda bias when it come to them, but I love thier food, atmosphere, and most of all .....the service. Came by this past Sunday, they were closed, but Chef still whipped me up something to eat, from brunch event he had done! Thats how you go above and beyond. #customerforlife.

2022-03-05We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem.....small but very impressive. We ordered takeout and the food was ready on time and very fresh and hot. Shrimp and grits was very tasty and savory, being a southern girl, this dish is my go to for seafood. The oysters were superb and well creole-seasonal. Sides and desserts were very complimentary to the entrees....with the potato salad, cornbread, and bread pudding topping the list!!! Will make this takeout on our list for revisit!!!

2022-05-21We ordered our food and arrived to pick up our food. Food had not even begun being prepared despite our showing up 30 minutes after placing the order (which is what their online ordering system says to wait). It’s now been over an hour of waiting for our food with no estimate as to when it’ll be actually completed. Run for the hills if you decide to order their food for pickup.

2022-02-18I stumbled on this place while in Snellville. The food is awesome and the owner, whom I discovered is my homeboy, is friendly and gracious. I had the catfish, sweet potato souffle and those awesome hush puppies. Try them out, you wont be dissapointed!

2022-02-19I grew up in Louisiana and is no small thing to say that Cajun restaurant food outside of Louisiana is usually subpar. this restaurant meets all my criteria for what is good Creole and Cajun food. Try it out I recommend it highly. I can personally attest to the shrimp and grits and the gumbo Yaya

2019-05-18This was our first time visiting this place me and let me start by saying yes we did order all of this food in one sitting. And it was ALL GOOD! We ordered the Shrimp Etouffee, Seafood Gumbo, Fried Whiting & Shrimp, Dirty Rice, Red Beans & Rice, Macaroni & cheese, Whitting Po Boy, and Sweet Potato Souffle. The food was DELICIOUS! The dirty rice was so good I did not want to share it but I did. I love the fact that our food came out as it was ready and they did not wait to serve it all together. So, our food was served hot. Ms. Brandy and Larissa were wonderful. They were so warm and inviting that I forgot that we just met these wonderful people. The restaurant was clean. And did I say that the food was amazing. Every dish was flavorful. The best part of it all this meal was very reasonable. I felt like I was robbing them by paying what I did for what I received. We will be back.

2019-05-18With the flare of the Caribbean and a taste of New Orleans moms Creole cooking satisfy any taste southern style Louisiana cooking that you may need. The owners are warm and greeting they will tell you todays special. As well as some of the house favorites. The food is a delight for the taste buds. Next door they have an event Hall where they have monthly parties related to different cultures in the Caribbean community. This month theyre celebrating the Haitian culture. With live music, dancing, food and art representation of the Haitian culture.

2021-07-10Owner was very nice and friendly, but this review is based off taste, quality, and price. Food was very bland just being honest. Basic fish fried in what seemed tp be basic cornmeal no flavor. Greens had sugar in them which i do not care for and were a bit cold. Alligator bites were tough. Paid 40 dollars for 2 meals and appetizer and for the quality amd amount of food given way over priced! I cook myself and can tell when someone actually pits love into a dish. I tried only to show support to a business but will not be back. Customer service was great but food was medicore at best and that is being niceMany blessings
