Why do we enjoy mule day I took my grandson there and it was our first time ever going to The mule festival, although we had been told about it a few years before, we thoroughly thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed it! And when my grandson saw the parade come within two feet of him he could not believe it he was very excited, to see the horses and the mules, and then to ride one, I hope 20 years from now he will say Nana thank you for introducing me to mule day I enjoyed it just to see The gleam in his eyes thank you Cairo, Calvary Georgia for a very wonderful educational experience met some new friends too!
Fun rural celebration of the mule. Hundreds of booths with merchandise or food. Everything from yard sale miscellany to stained glass to metal works to T-shirts. Entertainment on three stages, museum, agricultural education, and activities for kids. Parade with horses, local marching bands, antique cars and tractors and (of course) mules. Mule show. Annual event, first weekend of November.
I have not been to mule day since I was a kid. Now that I have kids my boyfriend and I wanted to show them what fun it was. We were very disappointed that there were no ATMs like previous years. We were told they had the wifi for them but didnt secure the actual ATMs...you have a YEAR to prepare for this event and you didnt think to work out a plan for people to get money to spend. And there were absolutely nowhere else to get cash. We had to leave five minutes after we got there and my boys were disappointed.
Best small Town Muke Day event ever.. If only it will stay Traditional and not let all these young Lion club members ruin it.. By changing it.. Real Cane syrup, doesnt require Corn syrup.. Do it the way Earl Williams use too and all the original founding Fathers did it... Last few years it has gotten worse but if it is to be saved.. Money cannot be the Goal.. Has to be Family, Faith, and Pride in Community.. Needs to be upheld first..

2019-11-03Mule Day was amazing. There was a museum in the first store ever in Calvary !! The museum was AWESOME!! But absolutely NO black people were represented and that part was an embarrassment and a shame but lovely photos!

2017-11-27This festival has a huge number of vendors over hundreds of acres. There were the usual fair foods and brick a brack. The mule events were in a small area way in the back. The parade was worth watching. Im glad I went but will probably not go back.

2021-11-07My first time attending lots and lots if vendors. I expected to see Mules based on its name but I didnt. It was like a country fair without the rides. Nice outing

2019-11-21Mule Day is an annual festival in Calvary, Georgia on the first Saturday in November. It started in 1973, and on Mule Day Calvarys population grows from a few hundred to 30,000 or more. Its a great opportunity to experience small town charm. There are a huge number of art and craft booths to explore with everything from not-so antique washboards to local food and hand crafts. My favorites: the parade, local hand-crafts, boiled peanuts, and the chicken pilau dinner the evening before. If you havent visited, you should. RVers can even camp out and extend their visit.

2021-06-06I had the opportunity a few years ago to go to Mule Day in Calvary, Ga and I had an awesome time. The Cane Syrup I purchased was extremely good! I got a chance to see the parade with the Mule and buggies, I watched them grind the Corn meal and so many other awesome things. The flea market was huge!!!! I enjoyed it a lot!
