I have been diving for just over a year. My wife and I took SCUBA training here and it was thorough from beginning to end. I have quite a few yardsticks (years) under my belt as well as having to attend many training facilities from my Army service through retirement from an electronics employment. The training at Neptune is top notch and there are no shortcuts. Safety is stressed. I have dived with other dive shops that I would never allow friends and family go near. Yet Neptune has always been the first SCUBA training facility I suggest when discussing SCUBA certification. It is a training process which emulates team building and the buddy system. Bear in mind though, they do NOT suffer lazy, lackadaisical attitudes. Going underwater is a piece of cake. Yet, working through a tough problem, though rare, requires training. The instructors have assistants who have over thousands of dives under their belt.Chelsea and Betsy run the store, schedule trips and give excellent SCUBA equipment advice. Ron was our open water instructor and does not hesitate to say if a student is ready or not for the dive portion of the final. I read the negative review and just did not recognize any of those statements. Bottom line, If you want to dive safely, enjoy great trips and hang with some folks that’ll make you proud, hit Neptune.
Went to take a look at the shop and get information about their Open Water scuba certifications, the women I talked to were both nice and professional, definitely signing up for their class!
Need dive lessons but have a crazy schedule? These guys (and gals) will completely work with you. They put together a great package deal for me for my gear and I am completely satisfied. Of course I could have sat behind my computer for hours on end comparing prices to save a few bucks, but why lose out on the warranty and why not support your local dive shop? at least if I have any issues, I dont have to mess around with calling customer service and dealing with a stupid return policy. Support local businesses!
I love place. My daughter took swim lessons from them and she now swims like a fish!! They have great customer service and a wonderful staff!! I highly recommend them if you are in need for swim lessons.
Rented their pool for my 2 year olds birthday party it was great. Perfect for kids and the staff was nice and great price.
Neptune has nice employees, wide selection of diving gear; however, the reason we went there was to have a pool party (which went well). The only reason for not giving max stars was the AC for that room being under powered or broken. We will be going back, I recommend more people take their kids pool parties there so they realize that theyre Sitting on a goldmine as the only reasonably priced indoor venue with a pool in Columbia/Richmond counties. Thanks.
Extremely disappointed with this business. Ive spent a great deal of money hear and would have thought that would have earned some basic decency on their part. I called and asked if I could rent a tank and test my regulators in their pool. The girl was confused by my simple request. After explaining several times she asked me what brand my regulator was. Dont see what that has to do anything but I told her. Then she asked if I was certified their. I said no but I have my card and had bought a great deal of equipment from them. She then went away for about five minutes and came back and asked me THE SAME QUESTIONS. then she told me she would have to call me back because she had to ask someone else.She did not. So I called her back. She asked me the same questions yet again. She then came back and said it was 25 dollars to use the pool. I was incredulous as I wanted to use the pool for about 5 minutes to make sure my regulators were in good order for a trip. I told her that seemed unreasonable. She went away and came back and told me it was now 55 dollars. Because I had to rent a BC. I told her thats ridiculous, I didnt even want to use a BC, I just wanted to test my regulators.Considering Ive spent about 2 grand in the store buying local rather than ordering online which would undoubtably be cheaper I expected better service than this. Needless to say the fins I was going to buy in the store while I tested my regulators will be purchased online. I wont have anything to do with this business anymore.
Great local dive shop for all your scuba or snorkeling needs from the basic attire to the classes. Check them out if youre interested in swimming or dive classes.
Best dive shop in the CSRA. Ron and the crew are true professionals. Ive been to many dive shops all over the world and Neptune Dive & Ski set the bar for customer service, education and awesome dive trips. Keep up the great work!
The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. They can not only reccomended gear, but they are all divers with inside and advice regarding local dives. Their training is safety focused and they ensure you are confident and proficient in your practice before setting you free. Sometimes it does take a long time to recieve ordered gesr, but this thus far has been beyond their control as it has been due to manufacturer or supplier back orders.
Let me start with my visit had nothing to do with scuba. I need a compressed air tank filled for paintball. 3000psi. The staff were friendly and helpful. I probably wasnt there five mins and I was out the door with my filled tank.

Not only can you buy the equipment you need to dive they offer excellent classes on how to dive correctly and safely and have a good time in the process
Staff was friendly but we rented snowboards from them and were not impressed with the equipment. Very worn and outdated.

2022-06-27My wife and I just completed our open water diver course. If youre looking for a quick, run through class just to get a dive card with your name and picture then Neptune is not for you. The owner, Ron and the instructors that work with him are very thorough. They teach you everything you need to know to be a SAFE and knowledgeable diver. We highly recommend them if youre looking to get scuba certified or for additional scuba certs.

2022-06-28I’d like to be more supportive of my local dive shop but customer service matters.Update: Today (1 day after review) I received a phone call and very sincere apology from the owner. The employee providing the poor service yesterday was new (as I suspected) and did not do the right thing and ask for help but instead provided me bad information that clearly didnt pass the sniff test. The shop was busy at the time. Based on the apology, I feel that the problem will be addressed and that my business is valued. I will give Neptune another chance.

2021-04-22I went in looking for help picking out snorkeling gear for an upcoming trip and Im so glad I went to Neptune! The staff is so knowledgable, friendly and helpful! They walked me through all the different masks and made sure I found one that fit my face perfectly. Then they also walked me through how to care for it properly and tips for snorkeling in general. Such a great place! If you ever need dive or snorkeling gear, this is the perfect place!

2020-01-12So I stopped in today to check on updating my current scuba rating. I was immediately greeted by a very friendly young man who was super helpful. He put me in touch with a young lady who explained exactly what my options are and how they could help. She was knowledgeable and kind and very professional! The store is clean and extremely well merchandised! Just a fantastic experience. I can’t recommend this business enough! Thank You

2020-06-19We signed our 3 children up for swim lessons (ages 4, 5, and 6). The instructor was great! They made some serious improvements. I would highly recommend this business for swim lessons!

2020-06-13My little girl is terrified!!! I mean terrified of the water. On day one, she was crying 😭!!! On day five she was all 😊 . Mrs Colleen was amazing with her. She gave me pointer to do at home to help her feel more comfortable in the water. I have already signed her up for another week. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful. I am so glad we came here for our lessons. We will return and tell all of our friends. Thanks you!!!
