This is our go to place. You will find us here 2 to 3 times a week. This is family friendly place with a great selection of food and smoothies. Good prices and a staff that knows their stuff. You will leave satisfied, body and mind!
I love the drinks and the fact that its located right around the corner from my business. The food is ok for what I ordered previously, but I only stopped because the lady kept over cooking my salmon patties. But I will say this though.....Tim needs to move a little bit faster when making smoothies. I appreciate him being informative on whats being offered, however its a time and place for everything. Especially when the people whom are ordering are unable to be there and are on a time schedule
Try the Vital smoothie!!!!! Them turkey legs was juicy and fell off the bone. The Mac and cheese and the banana pudding was sooo good!

I absolutely love the fact this is an authentic juice bar and serves the best smoothies and vegetable drinks. I highly recommend this place to all the health geeks as well as those wanting a healthier drink in their day to day diet.

Every time I come in Nutritious Alternatives, Tim always greets me like I’m family and Mama Scott is the pure God given sweetest. Everyone I have encountered here have been so pleasant. Food is absolutely scrumptious. I have the veggie burger, falafel, veggie spaghetti, Mac n cheese, collards, rice and gravy, you name it I’ve pretty much had it. I have purchased quite a few of their smoothies and I love every last one that I have had, my favorite is the berry moss, and I’m starting to get the vital shake more often. I love the staff, food and drinks. Highly recommend!! Just all around beautiful people and delicious food!!
Very friendly and the smoothie master knows his stuff! If your in Rush not the place for you, but the food is fresh and ample for the price. Also food section is a little disorganized but it seems they are working through some new changes. Over Good quality products in a calm friendly atmosphere, with lots of attention to detail. This place is a treasure chest nestled within one of Augustas historic neighborhoods. Tim, the owner, is a protector of the people, and he constantly works to inform new time customers of the importance of a healthy diet. The prices are also unmatched.

Today was my first time at Nutritious Alternatives and I was very pleased with my experience. My meal and smoothie were delicious! Id heard so many good things about the place that I had to try it for myself. While I was there, I was given delicious samples, and the owner and staff were so nice and pleasant. I will definitely return!!
We just left and I already had to leave a review it was that good! The food is fresh, delicious, and has plenty of vegetarian and vegan options that will leave you fat and happy. The smoothies offer a large variety of flavors and health benefits that are well above and beyond what you may be used to from stores that use frozen products. Absolutely amazing people to chat with on top of the food and smoothies which is an awesome cherry on top.
I wanted to like this place. I wanted to support local, Black owned, small business, but its a hard no for me. The food was okay at best. Dont go hear if you have food allergies cause cross contamination is just waiting to happen. Phoned my order in. They said it would be ready in 30 minutes. I took 20 minutes to get there and then waited 40 minutes during which time they helped 2 other people with a total of 3 plates. They got my order wrong, offered to fix it, but didnt actually give me the corrected items even then. When I said I could no longer wait as my lunch break was 30 minutes and theyd made me late, the manager commented, Mam you need to understand we have other orders. Um, excuse me sir, you need to understand how to properly quote order times.
I never knew this place existed until the other day and I’m so glad that I found out about it. I’ve been trying to find a place in augusta that has great juices/smoothies that are also healthy. I know that there are a lot of big chain around that sale the same thing but this place is so down to earth and friendly. The guy who made our smoothies took the time to explain everything to us including the health benefits of what we fruits/veggies we chose. He even met us sample the fruit so that we could see for ourselves that their fruit is fresh and never frozen. Even in their cooking they don’t use any sodium or sugar and I think that’s amazing. They have a vegetarian food menu, too and then just all around healthy options even for meat lovers too. This place was absolutely amazing and the hospitality was like no other. I truly appreciate a place that takes its time with each costumer and we were even able to watch him hand prepare and make our smoothies in front of us. I will definitely be returning!
THE NEST FOOD IN AUGUSTA!!! I come down here for work and every time I show up this is the only place I eat Tim makes you feel like family and the food is delicious. The smoothies are all great and every time I try a new one I am never disappointed!!
What a wonderful and welcoming place! The food smells delicious; the smoothies ARE delicious. Everything was made to order with fresh ingredients and Mr. Tim was very helpful with recommending things our younger kids might like. Even our pickiest eater declared, Smoothies are awesome!
This is a great place to learn more about your body learn more about your digestive system. How your digestive system work ,what can you do naturally to heal yourself to make yourself feel more energetic more healthy. And if you have doubts they also have books and material that can back up any and everything they say this is my new favorite place and the food is excellent for vegetarians and vegans people that dont eat beef and pork this is the perfect place and the customer service is so friendly so professional they really make you feel at home and they are very easy listener and easy to talk to.
My friend and I had a great experience at Nutritious Alternatives. I got the MLK BLVD shake and the avocado-egg-salad sandwich and she got the Beta Booster smoothie and we loved every bit of it. The owner was very polite, friendly, and informal. He took his time to go over the menu with us and explain the different options they had. The food was fresh; the fruit wasnt frozen and no extra sugar or artificial preservatives were added. The food was prepared right in front of us and it was great to know what exactly was going inside of our shakes and how the different ingredients benefited us on a health level. This place is a hidden gem and if you havent already, please check this place out, you wont regret it.
This is a family owned and operated restaurant located in downtown Augusta near the medical college. It highlights healthy food choices including delicious vegetarian dinners, smoothies, and vegetable shakes. However I went with a party of two for breakfast on a Friday morning. After calling the restaurant to in sure that the hours are listed were correct, we decided to give it a try. Well the place is small and unassuming from the outside; once you walk through the doorway, everything is personable, delicious, and authentic on the inside. There were some great options available for breakfast. This is a pork free establishment and that was perfect for us. We went for the salmon croquettes and turkey bacon, with grits and eggs. The seating was limited, but everyone made sure that we enjoyed our breakfast experience. The food was well seasoned and very filling for the price. We were also able to get some great information about essential oils and how to use them from the owner. Sadly, we were too full to try the tempting smoothie and vegetable shakes, but we will be back for lunch and the meatless meatloaf special that Ms. Gloria cooked absolutely mouth watering.
Delicious smoothies, filling and scrumptious spaghetti! Thats all weve tried but well be back for more. The nicest owners make it easy to support this business.
I ordered food from them. Great customer service and very welcoming. They gave me some mango sauce to go along with my order, but I was unfortunately unable to eat it because there was mold in the sauce. However before I opened the mango sauce I did try the main dish which was the veggie burger and sweet potato fries which was really good. I’m willing to give them a try later on down the line, but it may be a while.
This place is wonderful and very very healthy must visit if you in Augusta.
The owner is very rude and disrespectful. My first visit here I bought a slice of pie along with my plate. When I got home I realized it was not in the bag. I returned to the store and explained what happened. The mother and daughter both confirmed that They didn’t give me the slice of pie. The owner, who rang me up btw, asked me if I paid for it. I told him I paid $3 to which he retorts “the pie is $2”(mind you he rang me up). I produced my receipt and then he pointed and said “it’s over there”. So knowing he overcharged me, I asked for a refund and he refused. I looked at his mother and asked for help. He gave me $2 and I told him I paid $3. His mother told him to give me my refund and he walked away. So she pulled $1 out of her pocket and apologized on his behalf. If you value good customer service, avoid this place at ALL costs. He’s a scammer!
My husband and I are visiting SC from FL and decided to take a drive to visit this highly rated healthy restaurant and we were SO glad we did! We had delicious veggie spaghetti and smoothies that were yummy and healthy! This place is such a great find and we will be coming back during our visit for sure!
Hidden gem. Best smoothies in town.They use natural and fresh fruits/veggies, cut them in front of you, then blend this into an organic tasty drink. Last time I got somewhere on the beach, which was delicious, and I also grabbed some alkaline water. They have other natural goods too.There are other smoothie shops in town, but most use frozen/processed ingredients - but here you get to taste of the freshness of the ingredients. The owner and staff are very personable and friendly, and would help tailor the drink to your liking. I havent tried their food yet - will try next time.
Tim was very personable by having conversation around health. He is passionate about what is put into our bodies. I will be back very soon.
Best vegan burgers
I have been to the place numerous times for food, smoothies, and sometimes even both. Amazing! The smoothies are on point and they have smoothies and veggie drinks for everything; i.e. cleansing, fuel/energy, immune system boost and so on. The food is just as great. Well seasoned, perfectly cooked and tastes as good as it smells. They definitely have something for everyone. I brought my boyfriend in who was a little hesitant just because he heard the word vegan. Got him a smoothie. Drove 20 minutes away and he made me turn the car around to go back so he could get a second smoothie. Definitely worth the visit.

While the drive up was a little sketchy for my co-workers and I, the offerings were great and the service was amazing. Every worker was knowledgeable of the products and knew all the health benefits of each ingredient which was impressive. I ordered the tuna salad, which was just ok but overall filling. We also ordered the Turkey Wings which were delicious.
Its so nice to have a healthy alternative in Augusta. I had the veggie meatloaf. Its delicious! Their menu changes daily with both healthy and not as heath conscious meals. So they appease both clients. This was my first time here and it wont be my last! The smoothies are great too!
We are new to the area and stopped by this place because the reviews were amazing ! Definitely did not disappoint! The owner went above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy! He even turned on the TV for our two small children! The smoothies are SO GOOD and you have to try the bean pie!!

Tim, the owner loves what he does! Very informative on nutritious foods and healthy eating. Excellent smoothies and vegan dishes. They also have salmon and chicken dishes for those who arent vegan or vegetarian. Oh and dont forget the bean pie....oh my gosh soooo good!We drove from NA to find this place and so very glad we did. Well worth the trip. We had to grab a smoothie to go, try the Skinny Honeyloupe. It was yummy!! Tim and his staff were extremely welcoming. This will be a repeat stop for us.
This place is great. I tried the MLK blvd smoothie, my husband ordered a Refuel smoothie and we ordered a filafel avocado wrap to split. They gave us alkaline water while we waited and samples of each others drinks and some fresh pineapple they were cutting up. The staff was really kind. We sat in the back at the little dining area. They had health books back there and some chill music playing. It was really cozy. The smoothies and food were fantastic and super fresh.I especially recommend the Mac n cheese as a side. They have tons of cool vegetarian options. I also got a piece of bean pie to go, but i havent eaten it yet. I love what theyre doing. Theyre offering quality healthy food for an affordable price. Well def be back!
Everything tastes so YUMMY!! Very flavorful & light on the stomach. YOU guys &&& flavorful. Its cheaper and in my opinion better than tropical smoothie cafe. This is probably my favorite nutritional spot in town. If youre going to get healthy, this is the place to do it. The service is prompt. Our smoothie server and owner, Tim, give us some great guidance and was especially helpful with pairing smoothies with diet. Everything youve heard is 100% true and then some! The smoothies are the main event, and every time I go its top-notch -- fresh and perfectly blended. Dont skip the food and dessert! The bean pie is out-of-this world good, so save room on your smoothie.

I was on the internet looking for businesses that focus on healthy living. I ran across this place. After reading the reviews I decided to check it out. This place is definitely a diamond in the rough. The owner and the staff are verrrrrry professional and knowledgeable about their products. I had a smoothie...give it 👍👍👍👌👌and purchase a veggie burger for a friend (delish!!!). I will definitely be back....and tell all my family and friends.
This is exactly the type of place the community needs. Everyone is always very cordial. The portions are great for the price you pay. Everything is very fresh and always cooked well. This definitely one of my favorite small tucked away places in Augusta. Definitely worth a trip there!!!
Hidden gem! Great selection of juices and meals. I had the MLK and ordered an avocado egg salad sandwich to go. Both were made fresh while we waited and were outstanding. The thing that made it even more special was the time the owner took to teach my husband and I about some of the ways different fats affect cholesterol. He was very knowledgeable and even pulled out books he had been reading/studying to show where he got his information. So nice to see a restaurant owner truly concerned about health/nutrition. I wish we could have gone back, but were just passing through.
Tim is very knowledgeable about healthy eating. He took precious time out of his day, in between customers, to explain to my wife and me about how the body heals itself when you put the right foods in it. After sitting down listening to him explain how toxic the food is that we were eating, we immediately changed the way we eat and Ive been feeling better for it every since. And the smoothies he makes are heavenly. I really appreciate Tims Nutritious Alternatives because it truly is a blessing to our city and our community.

Today was my first time visiting nutritious alternatives. My son, neice, aunt, and I enjoyed the nutritiously delicious ox tails, Turkey wings, cube steak, Mac and cheese, collard greens, squash, and tasty corn muffins! I was very surprised and satisfied with my order and will visit again! Im open to trying the vegetarian meals and smoothies! I recommend it to everyone!
My omnivore friend wanted eggs for breakfast and I wanted fruit. Nutritious Alternatives has something for everyone. I found out about them from an über driver. Although, he was short-staffed for the day, Tim greeted us, made our smoothies, provided samples, ran the register, took our orders, and waited our table all while taking care of the constant line of other patrons. The food was excellent! The breakfast menu didnt have any vegan main dishes, so he made one up custom for me. Everything was fresh and tasty.

Found this soulful, healthy, laidback vibe. The staff filled with a superb knowledge of healthyfoods and smoothies and not to mention the vegetable drinks. All the food and drinks we had were made FRESH. It was an honor to eat at this wonderful establishment.
Very nice people. Food was tasty. They have vegan, vegitarian & meat/fish selections. The vegitarian meatloaf was at 7 out of 10. It needed gravy for my taste. Grilled fish was very good. Veggies were cooked like soul food which might be overcooked for some but they were good. Oatmeal/Peach smoothie tasted good as well. I like mine more creamy. I would use cashew milk. Well be back the next time we come thru Augusta. Oh, love the bean pie! I bought 3 slices. :-)

It’s Ify Love here! I had an AMAZING EXPERIENCE at Nutritious Alternatives! Tim and his mom aka “Momma” to me (she’s mine now! And gives great hugs!) were awesome! I learned so much about my body’s needs! There is a smoothie for every taste preference and Tim makes the smoothies to order! They have vegan, vegetarian, and everyday food (aka Mac n Cheese lol) for everyone! A hidden gem is what I would call it! The individual attention you receive makes it even better! Finding this is one of the best things that happen to me. The food and consumer service was supper. I order the grill salmon and flounder with collard greens and yams. For dessert, I had a slice of bean pie if you want to call it that. The vegetable drink I picked was Peach Paradise it very delicious.While I was there I grabbed two jugs of alkaline water which is the best water to drink.In my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice, I will be back.

Nutritious Alternatives is a refreshing alternative to your traditional juice bar or lunch spot . They offer healthy options and the owner is extremely knowledgeable on the benefits of each of his delicious concoctions. In addition, Ms. G and the mister hold the cooked meals down, preparing everything fresh to order. My co-workers and I have deemed this our favorite breakfast, lunch and snack spot when we travel from Atlanta for work. We also take lots of the Alkaline water back with us! The 2.5 gallons are priced well. I can go on and on, but just know that there is something for every taste bud to enjoy!
My experience wasnt as good as it could have been, theres a large menu with an array splendid looking items but the business never has any of them except the weekly usuals and most times certain items arent made for lack of ingredients and the business is hurting because the owners mother is the cook and shes up in age and isnt as fast she probably used to be and the restaurant is under staff, no one ever answers the phone which takes away from pre-orders, overall the business is failing from many nontraditional practices, there are so many different factors away this establishment isnt making any money and therefore is unable to sustain itseld

Great food and smoothies. Took a long time to get the meal. But when it did come it was absolutely delicious and fresh.

2022-05-02This is my absolute favorite place! It’s plant based nutrition at its finest! As you can see from my photos, I’m always here and trying something new! The veggie burger is amazing! My absolute favorite smoothie is peach paradise!! If you have never been here, you definitely need to stop by because Health is definitely Wealth!

2022-02-24Best smoothies I have ever tasted and somehow they are really made with only the healthiest ingredients! So much love for this place. The owner is inspiring and cares so much about supporting health through food in his community. Support this local black owned business!! Oh and did I mention they cook soul food with tons of delicious vegetarian and vegan options?! You have to check this place out. Make sure to chill in the seating area out back - it’s insanely cool and feels like a secret restaurant you would find in Manhattan.

They are educated and care about our health and well-being! We enjoyed outside dining for lunch while listening to music! It was a beautiful setting! This is a place we will visit often. 2022-02-05This place is amazing! Its a little out of the way, but definitely worth the drive. Its the best of both worlds! Lol. You can indulge on classic comfort foods, then wash them down with a fresh juice or smoothie. Ill try to stop every time Im downtown. You can tell the owner cares as much about your tastebuds as he does your overall health.

2021-03-18This place is a hidden gem. One of the best vegetarian restaurants in Augusta. You have to come through and try their vegetarian meatloaf. The mango sauce makes it so savory.

2019-12-11Fell in love with this little place!Had the Vegan meatloaf, gnocchi, veggies w/mango sauce. THEN an amazing Bean pie made by the owner Tim. Delish! Couldnt leave before trying one of his many fresh smoothie options, which there are many of. Tried the Skinny Honeyloupe smoothie, yum! Fresh cantaloupe, lemon sorbet, orange juice. Seating is limited. This place is a must do secret in South Augusta. Bean pie is legendary!!
