Mr Oldham came to pick up one of our cars for transport across the county. He was nice, polite, courteous and prompt. Said he would treat our car like it was his own and I believe him. Was great to do business with him and would definitely call him again if needed.
Quick, professional response. Very friendly. I have never needed a wrecker service before, and I didn’t know who to call. Very glad my first experience was with someone with over 40 year’s experience helping people.
Well, what else can I say? I was devastated as my lovely van stalls while driving because of power loss. I was advised to call them, and nearly 10 minutes later, the OldHam showed up. Not only the service was fast and cheap, but it was a nice ride to the my vehicle dealership. We had a very good conversation and we became friends. Wow!!! Outstanding services. I fully recommend their towing services.One call - and thats all you need to do!!!
Earlier today I accidentally locked my keys in my car, and Oldhams happened to be down the road dropping off a car at another house. I walked up, and Doug quickly agreed to help me out. Doug gave me a great deal and saved me a lot of time. A real stand up guy!
I recently had my plates changed; however, could not get my rusted screw off for the life of me. I pulled in on a Saturday Afternoon and they took care of the issue right there on the spot. Great service!

If you would like an account of why I deem this company EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, please continue reading below:Recently, my car was parked in a private lot, and I obviously did not notice the warning signs otherwise I would not have parked there. However, as soon as I walked out of my class at UGA to a sight of my car HALFWAY connected to the tow truck, I approached the employee, Douglas, in a very respectful manner and asked why my car was being towed. Once he explained and and pointed out the Private Parking signs, I took accountability and apologized for my mistake and then asked him if he could stop attaching my vehicle to the tow truck since I was there ready to move the car. He replied, Nope, sorry maam this car belongs to me and the state of GA now. As he continued attaching the car, I asked if there was any exception he could make or a supervisor I could speak with regarding the situation. He then replied with, You can bring $175 to release the car from our office downtown and Ill even let you ride with me. He then mentioned how his offer of letting me ride in the truck with him is a violation of his work policies and he can get in a lot of trouble with his boss, but he, in his words, was being nice since I simply made an honest mistake and seemed like a respectful young lady. Then after I asked a 2nd time for a supervisor to speak with he said well the boss aint in on Fridays so thatll be pointless to call. Then I asked one last time if he can make any exception and release the car as I had to get to work and that was my only source of transportation, to which he replied Ill tell ya what, I can release the car to you on the spot for $100 right now. Despite the blatant bribery attempt I was willing to pay the $100 and asked if he accepted credit cards. Nope... just cash, money order, or cashier check. He then continued attaching my vehicle to the tow truck and said, [he] really shouldnt have slowed down this process as much as he has, but figured he would be nice since I seemed like a decent human being. After he took the vehicle with him I contacted my mother as the car is in her name, and she said this man was just as AWFUL as I had described after she dealt with him. He told her that I had lied about the entire encounter and that I was in fact the rude one and a whiny little girl, funny how I went from being a respectful, decent human being in the parking lot and now over the phone I am being described as rude...? (I will admit I cried at the end of my encounter with him so Ill let him call me whiny). He claimed he spent an extra 20 minutes talking with me out of compassion, which is a LIE. He spent the remaining 20 minutes attaching the rest of the car!!! He also lied on the phone to my dad about his position, first stating to him that he was the manager (and gave a slew of different names) and then after hearing the complaint call, he admitted to my dad that he had lied and he was in fact the driver that just dealt with the brat in the parking lot. Then after taking his sweet time to meet my parents with the vehicle registered in THEIR NAMES at his office, he released the car after a 30 minute wait period at the cost of $175 and conveniently signed the receipt as the owner. No wonder the owner is out of the office on Fridays because he is too busy conducting an unprofessional business with a grouchy demeanor and attempting bribery throughout town.
I had the misfortune of having my car towed by them. The lady who towed my car was most rude. She wanted $150 in cash to not tow my vehicle. GA state law says that I am not to be charged and towed if I am at the scene and able to produce my key. She did not give me the ability to do that. She insisted that $150 cash only. I told her I was unwilling to pay that. I told her I was trying to work with her to solve the problem. She informed me that I started it like a child. She became irate, telling me I was stupid, dumb etc. I asked her if she could take card she just kept calling me stupid, flicked me off and drove away with my car. I was going to complain to her manager, but I was not able to do so. The manager was too busy giving me advice to not pay the ticket he gave me, that he doesnt always give them out(illegal) and to skip out on my court date for my parking ticket. This service is contracted out by the Athens-clarke county police department. Good luck if a cop calls your car to be towed. You will have to deal with them. Also as I was told by the county rep I called, they are required by contract to accept credit card. Do not believe them.
My brother got stranded on the side of the road at 11pm. I called these guys and they were so nice right from the start, got there in no time, took the time to look and see what was going on with his car and give him advice, and towed him all for a good price. They really went above and beyond to help us out. Cant thank them enough.
Oldham saved the day! After calling and waiting on two other towing companies in Athens, we finally gave up on the other companies and discovered Oldham. David B. was at our door within 15 minutes of us calling with our information. He was thoroughly efficient and friendly. He delivered my car to the body shop just in time and even arguing for a better price for my repair! After such a stressful day, it was a blessing to have Oldham by our side. I highly recommend them!
Car broke down in the middle of the road, they were able to get my car quickly before I blocked traffic too long, helped figure out what was wrong with my battery/alternator and even towed me to a shop that Doug trust. Great people with great service!
I was in need of a tow after losing my keys one night and googled tow services in Athens. Oldhams seemed like my best bet. I believe the reviews now. They were quick to respond and stayed in touch with me the entire time. We were able to sort out the problem without any issues. They definitely seemed to care about the customer and adjusted to the unforseen problems with towing my truck.All-in-all, Oldhams is a great family-owned business thats willing to work *with* the customer. Excellent customer service and seem to have fairest prices in Athens. I definitely recommend
Avoid this place like a plague. I dont write reviews, but it would be inhumane for me to not warn people how shady this place. My car got towed here and they damaged my bumper, yet they wont take responsibility. The woman that worked there could not be understood, but you would be called a retard if you asked questions. You know the place is not kept up with when their website dont even work. Also why do you guys advertise you accept card when you only take cash?
If you have the option to tow your car literally anywhere else, take it. This 24 hour body shop has only one person on staff. If you call them, they will be extremely rude, essentially telling you to **** off until theyre back, but they wont be able to tell you when theyre getting back. I have never been treated so poorly by a tow company in Athens. Save yourself the headache and the insults by simply calling any other company. You wont be sorry you called someone else.
Do not go to this place for any body work / painting. I brought in two, small, individual body parts to be painted and it took them far longer than I was originally told. Each day when I tried to contact Chris to check on the progress of the job, he was no where to be found. Apparently not only is he the estimator / appraiser, he is also a tow truck operator, so he is rarely around to be of any assistance. When I could finally get him on the phone, he would give me the run around with various reasons as to why the completion was being delayed.The worst part is after all the time it took, the parts were painted by somebody who clearly does not know what they are doing. There were drips and runs which shows they have absolutely no attention to detail. I suspect they were tired of me calling every day when it started being weeks late and did a quick paint job to get me out of the shop.Dont go here for anything body / paint related!
Paid them to move a vehicle and they left it on a hill with it blocking a portion of the drive way. Called the company got cursed at and told it was my problem now. Go with Logan’s towing they are actually a respectable company.
Got a quick rescue from this shop when my car left me stranded on the side of the highway. Fast service, super friendly, and a good price. Definitely recommend. Thanks!

Doug came to help me out after my timing chaim broke- he was great. He showed up in less than 30min, was very customer friendly and professional. If I have roadside problems again I will be requesting him

Literally the worst towing company absolutely terrible pricing employees and policies. They apparently only deal in cash yet expect someone to carry the absurd towing cost of $300 on their person at all hours of the day. Additionally, they have terrible hours and are closed on Sunday leaving me unable to go to work or school throughout the week. DO NOT EVER TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR BUSSINESS
Very professional. My daughter was in an accident and had her car towed by Oldhams. He offered to stay late so she could pick up her things. I highly recommend Oldhams.
I just recently picked up my car from here, I flew in from Texas to pick it up they were going to get ready to crush it soon but the owner held it for me and besides helping me with a deal to get it out he was also friendly and didnt have to hold the car for me as long as he did I appreciated his services and would recommend

I just want to say that Mr. Oldham is one of the nicest people I’ve met in a long time. He was very accommodating and made sure I got where I needed to go. He was very caring. Thank God for Mr. Oldham!
Horrible! Said theyd put my car on the machine and tell me what the problem was in an hour or 2....5 days later, I finally get my car back after being lied to and ignored. Then, after I get my car home I noticed a bad scrape and paint missing from my back bumper. Never again!
The police towed my car during a uga game. I was sranded with no way to get home and no way to get a taxi because they closed all the roads into campus. I was screwed but this place stayed open late for me and accepted a card instead of the customary cash only.
I live in australia and drive the US in my 35’ motorhome for a month every year .... I was stranded for 24 hours with a broken RV ... Doug was the only one that would help and get me out of trouble ... it wasn’t an easy tow but we got there .... with no time to get the RV fixed before the next leg of my trip Doug is storing it for me until I return next year .... thanks Doug

Really great guy, lowest prices in Athens, and has all the quality characteristics that are much needed in this business - kind, genuine, and REAL! We had wonderful conversations on the way to pick up my car from where it broke down on 316 and bring it back to Athens. Super interesting guy and I highly recommend him if you’re ever in need of a tow! 5+ stars!

2022-02-22Doug is absolutely terrible. He’s past his prime and didn’t even know how to hook up the car correctly. Go anywhere but here. Wheels scratched on 3 rims, front of car scratched, offered no assistance. Rude and arrogant.

2021-11-22Awful service, the large and in-charge gentleman (for lack of a better term) felt his business being open until 5 means at 4:10 he was done working. His choice of rhetoric was poor, and feeling the need to let me know he’s been working since 7. I’d rather take a loss of a whole car rather than having to deal with him again, or better yet ever having to lay my eyes on something so hideous.

2021-05-08I cannot say enough good things about this company and their owners! Let me start out by saying that I am a middle aged woman and was by myself, with the exception of my miniature schnauzer Kipper, and have very limited knowledge of cars. I just knew my car wasn’t drivable, I was nervous and I needed help. I found Oldhams on the internet and upon calling, their response was friendly and prompt!! Upon arrival the driver introduced himself and after getting me (and Kipper) to safety Doug inquired about what happened. After discussing this he got my car and we were on our way back to the shop at which point he put my mind at ease. Doug was extremely professional and personable! Once at the shop I met Dougs son and found out that dougs father had started the business in the 50’s. Doug and his son went out of their way to get me back on the road safely! Some people reading this review might think this is what their job is so what’s the big deal? The big deal is, in my experiences anyway, MOST American owned businesses no longer go out of their way to help the customer. To further ensure that others understand how Oldhams is committed, considerate and caring I can tell you that even though it was Dougs son’s birthday and they had dinner plans, I, the customer, came first! We all endure mishaps throughout our day and I could look at the situation as a negative that my car broke down. Instead I choose to look at it as meeting 2 wonderful people today that own a business where I will feel comfortable in the future dealing with as well as referring anyone having car issues in the Athens area.

2019-11-02This is the second time Oldhams body and paint shop provided me with their best service ever.The first time it was in 2016. He took my van to the dealer for repair. In fact, the dealer messed up the vehicle and they repaired their own wrong doing. He was very patient and nice with staff at the dealership. The price was the lowest ever from one side of the town to the other for less than $90. I took his business card and forgot to leave a review for outstanding service.Today, I needed the same service and gave them a call. He knew where I wanted the vehicle to be towed to. Same this time, the location is too far, but I was surprised for the fact that he charged me the same amount like 4 years ago. Moreover, recognized he me.On time, reliable, nice, helpful, reasonable... I wish there are more than 5 stars. This is beyond my expectations.Thank you

2020-06-12Daughters car broke down and called up at 445pm and asked how long it would be to get a tow. Told him where I was and he said I can be there in 15 minutes. I asked him to give me 30-40 min because I had to get my son to meet him because I was out of town. He honored my request without hesitation. He showed up on time and had a great rate for where I wanted my daughters car towed way on the other side of town. Would definitely recommend using Oldhams for all your wrecker service needs.

2015-08-11Doug was extremely helpful after my accident. He got there a good 15 minutes before the tow truck for the other guy came, and moved my car from the roadway so that I could safely get my belongings and insurance card. He even offered to help my husband load my bags into his car since I was still pretty beat up. He was very professional and nice through the whole interaction. Highly recommend!
