Onelife Fitness - Vickery Gym in other cities:
If I could give a negative number I would. I have complained many times about the pool chemicals. I have tried to speak with the general manager multiple times. I even had water tested basically to help. No management ever would speak with me. I was told that the problem was fixed however when I reentered the water it still irritated my skin alot . I tild Clay (front desk manager) basically didnt care . He claimed that I was the only person with the problem. This is not true because I had just spoke to another swimmer claiming the same issue. To me it is sad when a buisness is so arrogant that they dont address feedback given to them by a long time customer in a positive way. They are the worst.
COVID-19 update: This location (my usual when Im back home in Atlanta on breaks) has done a great job creating a SAFE and COMFORTABLE workout environment. They have a fancy new air purification system and I think it actually works cause the air smells clean. Lots of additional cleaning supplies scattered throughout and all staff are in masks. No spotters allowed and a ton of signage about social distancing. Nearby cardio machines are taped closed in and alternating way. Good job guys 💪
I love the fitness center. My only suggestion is to encourage time limitation for all equipment excuding treadmills and pedal equipment. The after-school teen hulks like to hang in groups an hog equipment. Many times I have noticed people sit on equipment and either text or speak on phones. This seems unfair and should be noted as a courtesy suggestion to all.
This place works for me. From the location, the gym price, gym equipments all the way to the staff members, I have no complaints. I’ve been to a lot of gyms especially as a military veteran and this place is unique. The energy is inviting and the atmosphere is accepting. It’s like they screened out the best human beings to attend this gym and to work there. I am happy with them all the way!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The gym is always clean and you can tell that the staff is taking the extra measures needed to keep all of us safe. On top of each patron cleaning the equipment after they use it, there is staff walking around cleaning as well. I feel very comfortable working out here, and I would definitely recommend this gym to my friends and family.
I like this gym, it has a cool homey vibe. Clean, and nice employees . The sauna, haven’t used since before covid, but people shouldn’t be allowed to wear full fledged clothes in there, or go in without showering. Makes you uncomfortable with just a towel. May want to consider implementing this when reopening it.
Recently renewed my membership. Love working out here!! The free weights and rack bars are great!! Love being surrounded by positive people taking care of themselves. The locker rooms are spacious and clean. Front desk associates are always courteous. The new expansion helps not to feels too crowded, even during peak hours.
I love this gym. I have been a member before and had to cancel my membership because of a job transfer. I decided to start my fitness journey again and this was the only place that I felt comfortable enough to go to. Its a beautiful place with great equipment. I loved it so much that I got my whole family to come here. Everything is very clean, you always see staff members going around and cleaning the machines. They offer numerous of classes but I havent been to any of them. I only wished that the weight training section was a bit bigger but besides that a great gym!
While I loved my experience at the Onelife gym itself, I am leaving a 1* review because of the billing (ABC Fitness). I canceled my membership because they no longer offer childcare for children under 3. It has been a nightmare getting out of this contract. They are still billing me for childcare. Customer service told me there would be nothing further due. However ABC Fitness is still billing me. I spoke with ABC financial, and had an awful customer experience. Find another gym. Being dishonest and cheating your customers will only last so long. I would have rejoined after my kids were old enough for the childcare. But not after this experience with ABC Financial.
Great gym BUT for the love of creatine tell the Zone4 instructors the music is WAY too loud. Onelife needs to consider closing that training zone in or setting a limit to the loudness of the zone4 music. Between that and the regular house music mixing together it’s insanely loud clear across the whole gym - even with headphones and super distracting.
Update: As any great company and organization, One Life did right by me due to my complaint mentioned below. Upper management reached out to me personally as promised and we had a great productive conversation that led to great outcomes for both parties and they truly showed empathy towards my experience and made something great out of nothing. I really do appreciate all of their efforts. (I am changing my rating due to this follow up experience) Thank YouSo I am writing this review in efforts to make sure that this leads to better customer service training for your front desk staff. Today i was invited to your gym by a member of your gym and my friend said come to my gym today I pay $20 per month and maybe i can help get you the same price. Once i arrive we begin asking the front desk girl who is running the show and we start inquiring about the $20 membership which i clearly can see through her rude facial expression that the $20 membership doesnt exist and itd an old. Grandfathered price but she is not even listening to us or looking at us eye to eye she is simply shaking her face no no no and staring at the ceiling as if we were bothering for even attempting to ask her for that pricing. So within one minute of that interaction I simply said forget it , I will go to the dawsonville bew location and get their new promotional price of $24.99 no problem at all. I then asked her can you help me open up an account with that special pricing and she said yeah but we will be on the phone all day long attempting to make that happen , I will give you the number and you can just call yourself….. really? Like who even says i dint think thats a great idea because I have to call it in for you and we will be in the phone all day long??? Thats just horrendous. I am a VP of client account sales and customer service is literally my life and bread and butter and I am passionate about good service and this was one of the worst experiences ever especially being a new resident of the state of Georgia , it left such a bad taste in my mouth. You work there, do your job nicely and to the best of your ability, you dont even have to help me with the specisl pricing because theirs rules and protocols and I understand that fully but treat me with respect and help me find a solution and if you hate your job that much that you cant be great at what you do then find another job. Thank You**Please note to all readers, this is not a direct review to the gym and its equipment and ammentities, the gym looks lovely and i am sure your work out experience will be great but part of the experience is the customer service and I simply did not feel welcomed.**
One life really made me feel special just as i am and encourages me towards my goals. I feel like they are a huge support not just my gym. I had to change my entire life style to get myself healthy. I earn my accomplishments and I have met so many wonderful people sharing my goals. Thanks for making me feel at home. The reviews on here about contracts: pick the right one for you. You can do month to month for a higher enrollment or month to month with a lower enrollment with 12 month commitment. Your tour guide will educate. Make sure you ask all the questions you have ;)
I was completely happy at my former gym which was Lifetime Fitness but I moved and the Onelife was closer. When I went in to sign up I was told I could sign up for a month to month membership which could be cancelled at any time. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!!!! I decided to end my membership and was told that you can have a month to month membership after completing your enrollment period of 12 months which means they sign you up for a one year contract and you end up having to pay for an entire year no matter what or have a cancellation fee which will end up being just as expensive so they get an entire year out of you no matter what. Now I signed up in August of 2018 and was charged a Use fee of $39 which they say everyone is charged that fee each year yet I had not even been there a whole year so they charged me twice in 6 months. Nice SCAM. Also, once you sign up the lady in charge of their fitness classes will endlessly hound you to sign up for classes with an instructor even after telling her numerous times you arent interested. My wife signed up for a few but after deciding to quit they continued to charge her for the classes several times and it has been a big pain in the a$$ to deal with that. When I spoke with management at Vickery, I was told that I misunderstood when I signed up although my wife and adult daughter were also told the same thing about month to month with the one year requirement conveniently left out of the discussion for them. So three adults misunderstood the same discussion. The manager also told me that he would fix the situation and make sure that I would not be charged after the last June payment yet I am still being charged. He has not returned several calls to honor his statements to me and fix the problem so does not appear to honor his word. I advise you to steer clear of this outfit as they only wish to line their pockets and will go out of their way to charge your cards once they get hold of them.
If I could give it more than 5 stars I would 😍 I have been with one life for years and feel so at home when walking in. The staff is amazing and so personal and welcoming. The whole environment is just filled with good energy and an aura to motivate you to get in there and better yourself even further 💪🏼 My place to be! Gains are definitely made here. I’ve watched myself grow immensely physically and mentally at this establishment!
The best gym I have joined so far. The staff now know me by face and name, Im always greeted no matter what, and the smoothies are great. The sauna is great. Their showers get hotter than my own at home. They have all kinds of machines for literally each part of your body. They are helping me build muscle and get my body ready to go back into the Army due to the fact that I am on con leave. They are all wonderful and I suggest this gym! If you dont like it very crowded, go during 12pm-2pm or 2-3 hours before they close.
Very rude and no respect to customers at all. Trainers have bad attitudes. Trainers have No courtesy when other people are working out they throw the weights as if they own the gym and they dont care . If everyone behaves the same like throwing the weights imagine who will stay there. They should first respect customers and have courteous. They dont have proper Hammer strength machines. They have to Improve tremendously.New comers please be aware of pricing they say something and their hidden policies are something. you will end up in bad experience if you want to stop your account. If one strong competitor comes in this area they will definitely know the value of business and customers.
DO NOT SIGN UP! This gym is like a cult you cant escape. Extremly difficult time canceling my membership, very drawn out process, I dont even know if its done yet. You cant even cancel at the gym you need to email, wait 10 days for a response, then be told to call an outsourced company. Was on hold for 45 minutes! Beware of extra cancelation fees, you will be charged more than an extra month, even though thats what was agreed upon (check the recorded outsourced phone call) with no explanation of where the random number of a charge came from (& yes I did give more than 30 days notice). Ridiculous... also instead of just increasing your monthly rate they just charge a maintenance fee every Janaury to make it seem like they are an affordable gym. JUST LET ME CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP PLEASE!
The best gym I have been to yet. I am working with Scott and he is awesome. There are tons of high end workout machines. Very happy with the staff, location and the variety of programs offered. Love the hydro massage. The internet is spotty in some areas and the shower could use better force and pressure. Over all the most amazing gym so far.
Top notch gym. very happy to have this gym in the area, so glad i left the Y as it was a filthy mess with rude staff who sat around like govt employees and inept management. If you want a nice clean gym go to Atlanta fitness. Manager who runs the place was the one who sold me my membership and is running the place as well, speaks volumes. The manager is on the desk, knows his customers and is teaching all the new staff, that is the type of manager that can make good businesses great.
This is a great gym. Friendly staff that cares about their members. I was there for two years until I had to stop because I was traveling too much for work. I re-enrolled recently and I am happy so far. Would definitely recommend. The only reason for the four stars versus five is it can get pretty packed during rush hour.
Signed up to this gym back in 2012 , and have been satiesfied since then. I like being able to workout at a clean facility , which one life does an exellent job at. Another main thing is the staff, everyone is so friendly and out going! Makes you feel very comfortable! Sure the gym might be populated , but when do you expect working out at such a great place for a great price?! Do you just expect the gym to turn down the new members and say were full?Anyway! Great gym, great staff!Love,Rammi
For the same price as LA Fitness, you get a far cleaner gym with superior equipment. The freeweight area is really too small, but besides that I have no complaints after a few months. There are plenty of cable machines, albeit with not a lot of organization to them.Oh, and the childcare is great (for our baby at least)! This was the main reason we switched.
I have been a memeber of many gyms and this one is by far my favorite. GREAT staff and the gym is always clean and the equipment is in great shape. I have been to gyms where the seats always have tears or things are constantly broken. OneLife does a great job at keeping their facility top notch. AND the hot yoga classes are included in the membership! HUGE perk!
Very shady. Called to ask a question about how the end of a one year agreement worked and was told. It would end unless I agree to a month to month basis. And I said I wanted to end and was told I was good to go. Sure enough next month I am charged and told that I have to submit and email to end my membership. They said sorry you were told different but that’s wrong ? I would not recommend this gym due to bad customer service and being over crowded.
What I love best about Onelife is their awesome childcare. I can focus on my workout knowing that my 2 small children are being taken care of and are having fun. They can watch a movie, play basketball, do crafts or just sit and play. I also love all the different workouts I can do there. I swim, do yoga or sometimes I just do my own workouts.
SCAM/FRAUD!!!!!!!! So disappointed that after following the protocol to cancel membership yet they continued to charge the membership to my bank account every month. This is unacceptable!!!! Hidden fees everywhere and They are also refusing to reimburse me. Im not sure where is the disconnect. Very unhappy with my experience, not recommending to anyone!
Beautiful gym, Im visiting here so its kind of expensive for me at $10.00 a guest pass.I would gladly purchase the $25.00 pass for 5 days, but dont get why it has to be use in consecutive days. If its good for 5 visits what difference does it make on what days you want to use it?
An annoying experience being helped from Elma? I think her name is? Blonde hair girl front desk. It’s crazy how I had someone visit for a day and the company is having one time guest pay $10. Almost half the membership for a month. Flexibility is not there and when I said “ok well I’m leaving this gym” employee responded like “ok bye” being sarcastic
Its everything I want in a gym -- plus a hot tub!The staff is helpful and accommodating. The services provided are excellent. The gym as a whole is clean, well put together, and welcoming. I especially love the feel of it. As you enter theres a sitting area to the left and then friendly faces to the right behind the counter as you swipe your ID.The layout is friendly no matter your experience level. The quickly visible fact that they have so so so many different machines is something to admire. The stationary machines are up front and the further back you go the more free weights and related machines youll find. I was afraid they might not have the ones I used for PT, but they did! Different brands, but it was the same strength training machine I was looking to find.Theres lots of cardio machines. My favorite is the elliptical, and, if I choose to switch it up on what they nickname the kangaroo elliptical or the stationary bike, my workout will still be recorded because all three kinds of machine use the same brand. I like it because you login with your email and a pw you create and it tracks your workout and how far along you are to reaching the goals you entered in it.I like to use the regular elliptical better because of my knees, and havent been on the treadmills myself. All machines have audio hookup and the treadmills even have phone chargers, so be sure to bring your own headphones. They also all have the option to watch television and go online, which can be a nice switch up for lighter cardio days.
Worst Customer service - when you are in contract they talk nicely , when you say that you are leaving - the tone changes to mean and start talking rules. worst people i have ever done business with. i will not recommend this gym to enemies too. blood suckers in the name of contract. and do not know meaning of customer service. they do not deserve this star too - if there is option to give negative star they deserve -5 stars
Great looking club with nice equipment and classes included with membership. The functional equipment area is loaded with medicine balls, boxes to jump, heavy bags, etc. Monthly plans are priced right, you get access to great clubs, different locations, for one reasonable price.
I joined Atlanta fitness a little over a month ago. I was SO excited bc it was nice/clean, close to my house AND had childcare that would feed my 7 month old a bottle if he needed it during my workout. I also have a 3 year old so between juggling their schedules, I rely on the fact that they can feed my baby a bottle while I wrk out (always less than an hour.) Last week I didnt go to the gym bc I was traveling for work. Today, I go and find out that as of last week, they no longer will feed babies a bottle. Just like that. After having two kids, I was ready to get back in the gym and work on shedding the last 20lbs of baby weight. Now, when I try to cancel bc this policy just doesnt wrk for me, Im being told that I have to pay $100 plus to cancel. Thanks a lot @ATLANTAFITNESS for your great customer service (sarcasm). I advise anyone looking for a gym to seer clear. Apparently, they can change any policy they want without given notice. And if that policy is a game changer for you, tough crap. YOU will have to pay to cancel.
I love coming here, but recently the staff have been rude. Particularly one who I assume is a young lady. Who’s hung up on me twice when I call in regards to a payment question. However, there’s another team member there Charlie I believe is his name? He’s great, answers quickly and politely.
Terrible customer service. The facility is great and the trainers are wonderful, but I have found my interactions with the customer service lacking. I have found the sales tactics employed to be aggressive, bullying, evasive of details and non-cooperative. Management contact information is not posted on the website, or is very difficult to find and escalate a complaint.
Toooooo many people, specifically inexperienced and rude people there to socialize, including the staff. The equipment is poorly maintained and the free weight area is cramped. The staff are frequently in the locker rooms hiding and playing on their phones while the trash is overflowing.
My relatives are here because of Hurricane Irma and they would not honor a discount. ..unfortunately for them to not id them and give them a break UNBELIEVABLE get a clue. Not right AT ALL why would you not make an exception in this situation and not PROFIT from the storm of the centuryYOU NEED SOME TRAINING

2022-08-11First let me start by saying the gym itself is great, however if you ever try to cancel your membership you will be hit with all sorts of fees through some second hand processing company that has atrocious customer service. We moved out of state and simply tried to cancel our membership only to have these guys nail us to the wall with fees etc. If there is a Onelife fitness in Florida, I would never join again simply on the poor business practice we experienced here in Georgia.I hope this review will help others before making a decision.

2022-03-02Not bad if you like cold showers. Hot water sporadic or not at all for last two months. MULTIPLE people have addressed this with management with no results. Our membership fees are paid a month in advance, so we arent getting what we are paying for. I wonder if the owner would go two months at home with no hot water?

2022-06-30Do not start a contract with this gym! They make the cancelling process hell. I was charged $90 to buyout my membership. Two times the workers at the Vickery told me it would be $50. They are wrong it’s a $60 buyout then they charge you for the month as well. Don’t forget about the $40 one time fee they charged me June 18th. I’m paying $90 on top of the $40 to cancel a membership to a gym I no longer want to go to. Their customer service is very unhelpful and short as well.

2022-05-01I really like this gym; the staff, the members, and the facility were really good. They are not perfect, but they seemed to care enough to keep the place running fairly smooth. The equipment as well is pretty good, until it breaks. On average it would take roughly 2 weeks to fix. So you would have to find a work around for your workout. Luckily, they have a good variety of equipment so it was never a deal breaker. The also had a good tendency to open earlier than their schedule mentioned, so as someone that attended early in the morning, that was always a welcomed trend.Where they lost me was on the cancellation policy. All the things we made sure were not apart of the of our contract at the beginning with the staff member, suddenly emerged when we went to cancel due to a surgery and an out of state move.It has become an acceptable trend for gyms to have a lucrative cancellation process and policy with hidden fees, and this gym is no different. At least for us, they required a 30 day notice to cancel (which we had been informed of), along with a 60$ cancellation fee per contract, which was news to us. If you are cancelling due to a move, than they require a billing statement as proof of that move. So for my wife and my self, we went from no cancellation fees, to 120$ to cancel our member ships. This is not about the money, but about principle. I was trusting the staff upon signing the contract, which in retrospect, was the wrong choice. Next time I will ask for written proof of the cancellation policy. To spite this, the gym is by far one of the best in the area, hands down. The crowd was fairly serious, committed, and diverse in age and ability, so I got comfortable very quickly, as well familiar with seeing the same faces every week, which was motivating. I will seriously miss this gym and those that attended there.

2022-08-08I have had a heck of a time trying to cancel a membership they allowed my 16 year old daughter entered into. I tried to cancel this membership and they are requiring documents like a rental agreement, tuition receipt, military deployment, a place of employment on company letter head, etc. My daughter is a high school student and the staff allowed my kid to enter into a some kind of contract. My daughter has moved to NC, so I went to the gym and asked to cancel and pay the last payment. I was told by the staff that I just had to email ABC Fitness to ask for cancelation. Not only will they not do it, they are also now charging my card monthly without permission. ABC Fitness tried to call and speak to the manager and they said no manager on duty. I am know trying to buy out this membership. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these scammers who prey on your children to increase memberships. Shameful business practice. I am also currently looking into it with my attorney to see if a minor can enter into an agreement like this. Regardless they have zero integrity. One Life and Anytime has had the ability to do the right thing but they choose to make $59 a month instead.

2022-08-11Well I would have given this gym a 5 star as the facility is very nice… however, if you ever go to cancel your Membership your in for some possible headaches. So me and my fiancé signed up together at the same time. From my understanding we each had separate account numbers. We are relocating to Florida, we both submitted our cancellation request in writing to the email that was provided. They canceled my fiancé‘s no problem then asked if they would like to cancel me as I’m an associate member under his account. We replied back yes please cancel both of us. They processed his cancellation without a problem but then came back and said I need to show proof of relocation which includes a very standardize checklist such as lease utility bill military orders a letterhead from a new employer pay stubs etc. when I asked why I need to show proof of relocation and Brandon does not I was not given any answer they skipped right over that . normally this would not be a problem, however our relocation is not “typical”. We are relocating to Florida this week and living in our RV at a monthly campground. I sent them our RV reservations explain the situation that we will not have a lease as we are living in the RV that we own I also provided them documentation of notice to our current landlord canceling our current Georgia lease as well as announcements that we have moved the business that we personally own. Since that criteria did not fit their standardized checklist they will not cancel my membership. The only way to cancel this is through a pricey buy out. As you can imagine with moving the last thing I wanna deal with is going back-and-forth on a gym membership as I have boxes to pack. I bit the bullet so to speak, paid the cancellation buyout fee which I feel is wrong and poor business practices as we are truly relocating. Hence what’s urged me to write this review.Unfortunately for one life, due to this Cancelation process, I will not be a future customer ever again. It’s very short sighted - Capturing my 90+ buy out but loosing me as a forever customer. Just sad b/c I really enjoyed this gym.

2022-06-10I dont live within 200 miles of this place and didnt even know of their existence until they bought my private info and started using it for marketing. If they violate my privacy like that as a nonmember, I cant imagine ever actually giving them my financial information for billing and how that might be abused or sold. Another big gym scam - 😒 Dont trust people who do this.

2022-08-17Go somewhere else. I’ve never had colder showers IN MY LIFE, but the worst are the people talking on their cell phones either without headphones or listening to music with no headphones so you hear EVERYTHING!!! Ruins workouts, makes me want to cancel but the last time I tried to, they made my life hell. PUT UP SIGNS THAT SAY NO MUSIC WITHOUT HEADPHONES AND TAKE YOUR PHONE CALLS OUTSIDE LIKE PEOPLE WITH COMMON DECENCY WOULD!!!!! STOP BEING SCARED OF THE MEMBERS DISRESPECTING OTHER MEMBERS!!!

2022-03-04Dont sign up unless youre sure you NEVER want to cancel. Weve called, emailed, and attempted SO many times to cancel. They are ruthless. They give you a phone number, that gives you another phone number, that leads to a website, that directs you to a phone number that directs you to an email address that they neglect to answer for a few months, then you find yourself submitting fraud claims to your bank and trying to change your account info in order to get them to stop charging you. utterly disgusting way of trying to pick your pocket for a few extra months. Its a shame, I probably would have re-joined this gym if they hadnt been so sketch.

2021-10-23My wife and I have been members of this gym for last 3 years. Supported the business throughout the pandemic by not canceling or pausing our membership even without visiting for a single day in last 2 years.Went there for the first time today with my son and his friend. Had a really rude staff (Katie) at the reception asking for an ID from my son’s friend and $10 just for him to check out the gym amenities (not even use any). She had the worst attitude for someone to be in a customer facing role. Even my son told me that he felt insulted in the way she talked to us. She was extremely prompt to hand over the application form for canceling my membership without even asking for a reason to cancel. Wish they had retained the courteous staff who always greeted members with smiles when I was regularly visiting before the pandemic.
