Orangetheory Fitness in other cities:
Ive been going here for about a month now and absolutely love it here. The trainers are very knowledgeable of health and mindful of injury. The staff at the front desk are very helpful and friendly as well. I also love the bathrooms and waiting area. It stays clean and there are ample amounts of wipes and hand sanitizers. The area is also located near plenty of places to catch a healthy and delicious bite to eat before or after your work out.
OrangeTheory Fitness - Emory Point is such a great place to workout! The staff is wonderful and make me feel special every time I come in to workout by remembering my name. The Coaches are wonderful as well! They are all motivating and encouraging without being “in-your-face”. Their energy during class and guidance help me push myself farther than I expect. Keep up the great work OTF Emory Point!!
The 30 day cancellation policy is unrealistic. I tried to cancel and I was two (2) days past my 30 days and the manager, Taylor, insisted on charging me not only for this month, but next month as well. $200 for nothing at all. Not to mention they insist on hard copy paper work. This is 2018...are they really scanning and sending forms for us to scan and send back? They also insist on members appearing in person to make changes to their account. Its a huge oversight for a great workout group to not make things easier and convenient for members. In addition, this Emory Point location could use a manager with a background in customer service. People are very busy and sometimes certain types of workouts phase in and out of their busy lives. The cancellation policy at Orangetheory and lack of customer service does not take the 2018 customer into consideration. This cancellation policy and treatment of members will ensure that those members who have to phase out of Orangetheory, for whatever reason, will not return after the poor treatment and additional incurred costs. Too bad. A company is only as good as its front-line. This Orangetheorys front-line could use a refresh.
Rant #1- I agree with others about canceling your membership. Its complete BS. They emailed me the cancellation form, I filled it out, signed it and sent it back. I never received a confirmation so I called. They told me I never sent it. My email and my document sign app showed that it sent. I called back 3 different times and then said Id come in to sign it. Poof, all of a sudden they received my signed document via email. I was charged for 2 additional months and I didnt even go. ($300 wasted)Rant #2- They got all new benches in the weight room area. The ones before were nice and very durable. The new ones are cheap plastic. One day we were doing high knees while standing on the benches... I slipped off (because there is no traction on a sweaty, plastic bench) and fell backwards on a pile of free weights. I was out of the gym for 1 1/2 months due to a very bruised tailbone. When I came back for the first time I recognized the same girl from the desk and I had the same trainer. I was never asked how I was doing and I thought that was super messed up.
The manager was extremely non-apologetic and inflexible about their cancellation policy, despite the fact that I just sustained an injury in my foot which prevents me from using treadmills. I was informed that I can now use a bike, but I dont like stationary bikes and it seems ridiculous that they cant make an exception. Additionally, since I contacted them two days past the date I signed up, she is now going to continue to bill me for the next two months. Completely ridiculous, would never recommend this place.
The trainers are great and all the staff members are fun. The thing I appreciate the most is that I get to workout at MY pace. That is, I love that I dont have to do what other people are doing (e.g. sprinting on the treadmill) - I just need to do the things that get my heart rate into the orange (e.g. jogging on the treadmill).
I procrastinated for 5 months, but when I finally went in to ask about the location and the class, I couldn’t have been happier. Everyone was incredibly helpful without being pushy. You could tell that the ladies working there really enjoy what hey donand each other. I have taken four classes and I am completely hooked. When I was having questions about the OTFBeat app, they walked me through it completely and made sure I knew all the tricks and information on how to best use it. Again, awesome customer service!
Love orangetheory! Ive been going for almost two years now and go almost every day. I love that you never repeat the same workout twice, since Im definitely one to get bored during workouts that are the same thing each time. I absolutely love Hillary, Lauren, and Jonathan. They are so motivating, especially during those tough work outs 👍🏼
I had a good first month experience but when it came time to renew I wasn’t aware of the automatic renew. I was called because my credit card had expired and all they cared about was taking my money. I explained that I was out of town for my grandmother’s funeral and would be moving the following week and wouldn’t make it back into the gym for another 2 weeks. No sympathy at all - all they cared about was me giving them my updated credit card info. I asked many questions because I was unaware of the automatic renewal and asked if I could freeze my membership until I could actively partake in classes again. No nothing. She continued to ask for my credit card details and I said that I would give it to her when I’m ready. In an extremely unprofessional manner, she hung up on me. This bothers me so much that I do not want to return to that location ever - even if it involves signing my termination paperwork.
My 30 day back guarantee was not honored by Taylor Hockley. This studio has very little integrity or idea of good customer service. They would rather make some money than do right by their customers. And I know this didn’t just happen to me because they had an immediate response of “just because we verbally tell you something doesn’t mean it’s legally binding”. This was he first thing said to me when I tried to get my 30 day gaurentee! By a new worker! Guess it’s part of the onboarding. They got me.My HR monitor didn’t work for me and I was not enjoying my membership for various reasons. I decide to do the 30 day back guarantee since I’m stuck with this $100 HR monitor that can only be used at Orange Theory.I end up losing $259 on ONE month of Orange theory because I was not given a tiny slip of paper that you have to sign to get this gaurentee. They claim they found my clipboard from a month ago and found it unsigned on my board with all my other paperwork? Is there some hidden hallway with every clipboard ever given out, neatly put away? So strange.I was verbally told that this gaurentee was included in my premier membership. No paperwork was given to me on the gaurentee. The person who signed me up seemed like she had a ton of integrity and she really sold me on it. I didn’t think I would need to use the guarantee anyway and it was certainly not my plan since I loved the classes. The trouble started on my second ever class when my heart rate monitor (Flex) wasn’t working for me so I called and spoke with Taylor Hockley about switching to a different one and she told me it was non-refundable. I thought this was strange since I used a loaner one on my first class and it worked fine. I waned the chest strap instead. Why was I stuck with a broken piece of tech? I go in person and Taylor and Ansley tell me I can get a doctors note to change my RHR in the system to get a more accurate reading. I do so two weeks later and the desk worker Monique tells me that that is impossible as the formula only goes on weight age and gender? Waste of doctors visit and I was not enjoying the classes. The entire point to me was seeing the points I was getting to keep me motivated. I would be sprinting and be stuck in the green or blue so I knew something was wrong with my HR. They should adjust their hr stats based on each unique person. Then I go to try and cancel for a month (I was within my first 30 days) or downgrade my membership since I was going on vacation and wouldn’t use it for a week. I find out that though they call it a month by month membership, you need to cancel 30 days in advance of the billing period (though the contract reads within 30 days) and then you’re charged for an additional month. You also need 30 days to downgrade your membership. So if you want any changes to your membership, you need to know two months in advance! That’s even worse than a regular gym that only requires it to be before the end of the billing period.I go in to meet Taylor to talk and ask for a clipboard before she arrives and are given yet another one without the slip! Idk where they hide these slips but definitely be aware of this.
A 30 day cancellation policy is a joke and having to physically go into the studio to fill out the cancellation paperwork is a waste of time and is incredibly inconvenient. Instead of making it difficult for people to leave your program, maybe orangetheory should make their classes easier to get into (main reason for wanting to cancel - waitlists EVERY TIME I try to sign up for classes - sometimes even a week in advance) so that people actually get their moneys worth for their membership. What a waste of money both while being a member and now while trying to get out.
Worst location I’ve ever been to. Equipment is always broken, the manager has an attitude, the coaches are mediocre, they turn every filled class into a 3G, I could go on. I love my home otf in Brea, CA, but after a year and a half at this Emory location I’ve canceled my membership.
WARNING! Difficult to cancel membership. My wife wasnt going because she was busy with work and had trouble finding the time. She called to cancel, and their policy is that you have to go in and sign paperwork in person. She said she didnt have time to come in, thats why she was canceling and requested that they email her the paper to sign. She was told the only way to cancel is in person and with a 30 day notice. It seems like a month to month service, but they will get an extra month out of almost anyone who stops or takes a break.Poor customer service.
Terrible phone experience. I am moving to the Emory area next Tuesday and was calling to price out the classes. The lady on the phone was poorly trying to redirect the conversation and would not answer my questions. Red flag when you have a bad experience before even getting in the door.

2022-04-16The coaches are incredible. They are all very nice, but really push you to dig deep. It’s also impressive that they’re able to remember everyone’s names given how busy it seems to get.The scheduling options are great, and the work out equipment is well maintained and cleaned. All in all, there’s nothing to complain about.

2022-05-25Might be the best gym I’ve been to. Tons of high quality equipment, very clean, nice atmosphere, etc. It has the best balance of everything.

2021-11-27Workout flexible for different levels of ability and ages. Environment is not intimidating - staff is very welcoming. The instructors are incredibly supportive. Like having your own personal trainer basically, but at more affordable price. Facilities are clean.

2021-10-24I love orangetheory, the people, and the environment! Only thing is that sometimes heart rate monitors dont work well, and whenever I try to pause my membership I run into issues. Otherwise, sweatiest hour of my day!!

2019-04-17I love everything about OT Emory Point. The instructors are FANTASTIC - so encouraging, challenging, helpful, funny, inspiring, and kind. The whole staff is super great- I feel known, appreciated, and hopeful every time I come through those doors! I love that I was able to go from NEVER working out on a weight floor to now feeling pretty confident in most of the floor exercises, and increasing my weights! I love the friendly competition, mostly with myself, and the way the instructors get to know me and challenge me to keep doing better. I feel healthier and Ive created a habit of coming 3-4 times a week consistently for 6 months now. I never dreamed Id love going to the gym - but thats surely how I feel about OT Emory Point!!

2020-01-05Its a very engaging workout! You stay busy the whole time which makes the time fly. Its great to know your energy expenditure during the workout and your statistics at the end. The instructor was great with explaining the process before the workout and the statistics at the end for my first class!

2018-03-07All of the coaches at Emory Point are AMAZING and the staff are fantastic, too! The music is great and I feel like each coach cares about my success and that I am pushing myself (safely) and keeping proper form. I always have a better, more high energy day after an OTF workout and I keep talking to my friends about it. Im seeing very noticeable results in weight loss, strength and endurance after just 2.5 months and even feel motivated to wake up super early to come in. I like that I dont feel like people are there to check each other out. We are there to WORK and do our best! I like that each workout is different and that the class mixes cardio and weights. I cant wait to see how I look/feel after a few more months!
