Pep Boys in other cities:
Future customers,As a customer service worker, one who hires and fires, I have never seen a team like Ivory and Chuck. When I called and Chuck answered the phone I knew that they were the first and last alignment shop to call. The hospitality and responses made me feel like my situation (car) mattered. When I got onsite the building was clean and you could tell that the management staff was a person whose mom stayed on them about cleanliness. The person that tested drove my vehicle was Ivory and you knew that he was not only professional but knows a lot about cars. By his attire and presentation you knew that he was a manager. In the day and age that we are living in good customer service is hard to find. In some instances left lacking. As for the Pep Boys that I visited, whomever established the customer service and personal repour, they need to conduct a customer service conferences for the other businesses that want to create an environment of repeat customers.I will Be Back!!
Took my car to them today for a full synthetic oil change and tire rotation. I marked my two front tires with a pen to make sure the tires were actually rotated. When they brought me my car, I could still find the x on the front right tire. Not sure about the front left tire, but I know the manager looked at the video and confirmed it wasn’t done. The technician was asked, and he said the tire rotation was done prior to the manager watching the video. I waited to see how they would handle it. They fixed it and did what they did not do. However, neither the technician or manager offered an apology or anything else ( refund, adjustment on charge, etc) when giving me the car back.
I had a popped tire at 6am. My sister called to make an appt letting them know the situation and the manager, Ivory Harris, was very dismissive & empathetically challenged. Then it took all day for it to be done even though I had a 10am appointment—didn’t leave until 4:36pm for simple car issues. Then before I left he let me know that even though a rim was dented from the popped tire he still rotated it to the front and to come back if it’s too much vibration. I drive to Atlanta every weekend for school and I noticed the vibration by next Saturday because I hit 70+ mph. I tried to come back before the next Saturday but time escaped me. So now it’s the Friday before the 2nd Saturday since and I got up at 6:30am to get it changed really quick. He wasn’t able to fit me in immediately because he has “appts” even though it was his poor decision making and poor judgment and slow service that made me have to come back. It’s surprising that he is the service manager. What’s more upsetting but reassuring to know it was possible, I called another Pep Boys location & spoke with their service manager and he said he will work it out for me since it’s a simple tire rotation that only takes 15-30min for ONE tire & that’s all I needed. It’s evident that Ivory Harris is incapable of being a proper manager and should be bumped down to just a mechanic. He doesn’t need to work with customers. I’m glad I didn’t give 5 star reviews when he asked me to. He had some nerve. I’m not one to call corporate on someone but that was ridiculous.
I did not place a five star rating. Chuck the man at the counter reached over counter and stuck his finger on the star without my permission. He was rude and I was over charged for my battery installation. you can call me you have my number I have spoken to Ivory Harris concerning this matter.I was not a happy camper when I left. The two gentlemen waiting with me was aware of his rudeness to me.
Great service from chuck! Out of town and needed a tire repair with a car full and family ready to go chuck go me in and out and also topped off my fluids and make sure I was safe for the remainder of my travel thank you again chuck and also the great spots to check out in Florida!!!
You and your team are not just professional, but honest and committed to taking care of your customers. Each visit was completed with me leaving with a smile and knowing my car is in great condition and safe to drive. Thank you, for being such a great place to visit and trust.
Beyond in awe at what Ivory did for me the past few weeks! After issues with the company I ordered tires from and finally having the fourth one delivered today, Ivory had his crew get not only the tires mounted and balanced, but a full alignment all done in under an hour and fifteen minutes! Thank you so much for taking me so late in the day as well - working at a hospital makes it a bit harder to get in during the work week! Will return even for oil changes from now on!
I cannot thank yall enough for everything that yall did. Not only did these men stay past closing hours, but they also were able to assist me in a good deal for my tires. He said it was going to be a 45-minute service and he meant just that. Excellent five star service and Ill definitely be going to them again.
The shop Manager Joseph P is very thorough. He knows his job. Hes patient and fair with cost of service... Definitely recommend this shop because of Great Customer service & Awesome work. Ive had numerous oil changes, tire inspections and both of my CV Axles replaced.
I had a 8:00am appointment for tires that I ordered online. It was around 10:am when they told me that I needed to replace my front brakes and I gave them my approval finally around 12:30 I was leaving. I dont understand how it took two hours to show me that I needed a brake job when I was the first customer there and their website said that the store had the tires in stock. This was my second time getting tires at this store, the first time was a much better experience. After today I may look at a different option the next time.
I had a little incident driving over some railroad tracks on a day visit to Columbus. I was frantic and needed the car checked so I could make the 2 hour drive home. The folks here were so understandingand helpful. I dont remember the name of the very sweet lady at the reception, but she was so comforting. They checked the car out and sent me back reassured that the car was okay, without charging me a dime! Thank you for your timely help!
Ivory Harris provide recommendations for my tires from several different price points. He was extremely attentive to all customers during my time in the waiting area. Supreme service was his first priority and he provided that same level of care to all the customers I saw during my time at PepBoys. I will recommend this location to others!!!!
Ivory was amazing , I called up here yesterday to schedule an oil change and I got here this morning and he got me checked in and I didn’t have to wait that long … his service was outstanding and I was even able to get a new pair of wipers thank you so much Ivory Harris &’ your team at pep boys !!!!
Was passing through for work and my rental car picked up a screw on the road...I was going to be late and explained to the Manager Chuck I was in a rush for work, whereas he got me right in and on the road again in less than 30 minutes...Thank you Chuck and your entire staff for helping me out.
Mr Ivory provides excellent customer service. However, technicians sold me a battery that was not needed when the starter was my problem. Numerous attempts to resolve the matter- no results. Waiting for a call for almost a week. Guess I will have to ride to Phenix City next time.UPDATE: I contacted customer service department for Pep Boys over a week ago. My case number is 797000. I have been waiting for a call from Management and/or the owner for over a week to resolve the situation. Thank you
Fair enough and honest pricing, great service, management always explains what may be required as far as services for your make and model and year. They always go over the safety inspections and nothing is done without your authorization. These guys are the best at the 6437 Whittlesey Blvd, Columbus Georgia location.
Headed out for the gym this evening and my tire was completely flat. Everywhere was closing at 6, including Pep Boys but when I called they said, come on in and we’ll get you taken care of! That kind of customer service is so rare these days! I put air in it with our compressor and got there right at 6, when they close. They repaired the nail in my tire in about 30/45 minutes and i was back in business. Thank you Pep Boys for making an already stressful morning tomorrow, a little less stressful! ❤️
I had an appointment for 3:00 pm for an oil change, and they said it would be over an hour before they got to my car. I made an appointment so I didn’t have to wait. Went to Grease Monkey down the road after that and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes for the same price. Never going back to Pep Boys again.
I took my car there last week and dropped it off at 8AM to change my brake pads and for a vibration issue. After errands, I got there at 630PM to pick up my car and they only inspected the brakes and did not fixed anything. They did not even call me as a courtesy to inform me. I showed up and couldnt even find my paperwork just super unprofessional place. Would not recommend it to anyone!! Poor management
I came here with my car. i let them run the full system diagnostics on my car. they told me my head gasket was swollen which is not a good thing. i asked them if i needed a new car or if i should allow them to make the repairs and be good. The manager and the front desk clerk both told me to just do the repairs and i would be fine, and the swollen head gasket tested good and would still be operational. the fixed my water pump, and i drove my car for a day and brought it back that night because it was not starting. my alternator tested bad also. i had them fix this issue the following day. while still in the parking lot my car barely started. i drove my car up the hill in the same shopping complex where it stopped. i had to walk back, which is where i spoke with the manager because i was not pleased with what had just happened. they tested my car again only to tell me i needed a new engine. This was nearly $700.00 later and over the course of two days. Take my advice and dont go there, they are not trustworthy, and they do not cater to neither military personnel or women and i am both. they took advantage of me and took my hard earned money and refused to give me a refund. this is not a good place to go and get your car fixed. they are money hungry. not to mention the manager showed no empathy after taking my money and telling me i needed a new car. he just handed me my keys as i sat there crying. do the right thing and go somewhere else.
Best place to get your car service. Very friendly and professional staff offering great help and understanding of what going on with your vehicle and the best route to take on getting it fixed no trying to sell your more then what you need for a safe and comfortable ride. Great place to get tires to!!
Brought my truck in to have some codes diagnosed and get the issue resolved as well as have TPS sensors installed. Got my truck back after the work was done only to drive back home and find out my lug nuts werent tightened all the way down on one of my wheels causing them to sheer off some of the threads on my studs. Called the next day to make a complaint. The following day the check engine light comes back on for the same thing that was suppose to be resolved on my first visit. So far the only thing that didnt have issues with was the TPS sensors. Otherwise everything else I paid for didnt pay off for anything but bad experience.
Went in for an oil change get my oil change and a new air filter within a reasonable amount of time! Absolutely love Billy he is professional friendly and talk to you like a friend! he made sure his mechanics did not do anything that was not asked to be done and he made sure I did not get overcharged
Ivory is very Professional courteous, knowledge and knows his way around any vehicles that Ive ever brought for Him Personally to work on for me. I am more than particular on who I want to work on my vehicles. He has never tried to oversell me anything that was not necessary. He takes his time to explain everything to me and in my opinion Pep Boys on Whittelsly in Columbus Ga. is very fortunate to have a great manager of his caliber on their team.
Took the car in for a simple nail patch on a tire. We had delayed taking it in and every week or 2 the tire would get down to 22 psi give or take. 2 days after we took it home from pep boys we took the car out and the tire light came on. Tested it and it was at 15 psi. We took it back and instead of fixing it in an hour or two they let it sit all day until 20 minutes before closing time to fix their mistake. We were quoted an hour and a half originally or before closing. We arrived at 6 when they were supposed to close and were told oh don’t you know we close at 7pm. We were not told this at any point and contradicts all posted times. We came back an hour later and were told there was another hole but they fixed it. A 2nd hole sure doesn’t make sense when you’ve had weeks of 22psi and 2 days after pep boys it’s at 15psi. Needless to say we won’t be returning.
Customer Service Excellent! I stopped by late on a Saturday afternoon, because I had a nail in my tire and Keith immediately helped me. David worked on my tire and repaired it in less than 15 minutes. Keith was exceptionally nice and professional and I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family. Thank you Keith for providing excellent customer service, and please know that I will definitely return again.
Nothing bad to say! I try to make an appointment and they always help me quickly and are honest. Been a couple of times that they went above and beyond to get the job done right, and that makes all the difference! They don’t try to add things I don’t need and prices are very fair.
I came into the shop last week only knowing that my car was making a strange noise only when my AC was on.The problem was not as serious as I thought it was. The shop was very busy that day, but Ivory the manager took the time to explain to me what the problem was and even how I could prevent it from happening in the future. He didnt make me feel inferior for not understanding but made sure that I understood what was going on. Great customer service goes a long way. We have to understand that an automotive shop is not fast food, sometimes you have to wait a minute to ensure that you are getting the proper service. I had to wait a little longer than I wanted but Ivory apologized and made sure that things were taken care of. Thanks for everything. You most definitely have my service in the future.
I’m always so impressed when I come here. They’re ALWAYS professional, kind, fast and make my experience so pleasant every single time. Friendly faces and quality work make the wait worth it for sure:) I’ll always give them my business and recommend them to everyone I know!
Ivory is always unprofessional and rude over the phone. Will constantly give misinformation about cars progress and when it will be ready. Will hang up the phone mid conversation if you call him on his b/s. Refused to give information for me to make a official complaint.
Two stars because the gentleman working here are very nice and helpful. However, Pep Boys is way overpriced for parts and repair compared to other automotive repair shops in Columbus. Another shop will be getting our business today for the same quality parts and service that charges much much less. I do not know if this a corporate issue or an individual store issue, but it would be in the store’s best interest for management to review their prices that are more competitive with local market.
Appointment was at 11:00am for four new tires. I dropped the car off at 10:57am. The guy at the front told me it would be an hour and a half so car would be ready at 12:30. My 1 year old and I walked down to the stores near Pep Boys. Had lunch. Came back at 12:30, the car hasn’t been moved.No-one called to notify me that they hadn’t gotten to my car yet. I was given excuses after excuses on why they hadn’t gotten to my car when an “I apologize” would have been simple enough. This place sucks!!!!
Terrible service today! I had a 2pm appointment, prepaid through Amazon to mount 4 tires. Appointment was at 2pm, I confirmed iui t twice with Pep Boys via email. I am still here at 4:40, they still have not changed the tires! They say Amazon makes too many appointments at the same time! Well this will be the last time I use this service! Hopefully I will get out of here before dark!
I have been a loyal customer of Pep Boys for years. I started using them when they were Big 10 tires. I took my car in today for an oil change and to have my CV axle checked. After about 4 hours I received a call from Tracy, the assistant manager, with some bad news. My fusible links had shorted out, causing my alternator to short out, consequently causing my battery to be fried as well. This was after they drove my car into the garage and changed the oil. Funny, my car was working fine when I drove it into the establishment. Tracy, went on to state that he could not believe I had not been giving me problems. It has, in fact, NOT given me any problems. He then went on to quote me a price of nearly $600.00 for the alternator, nearly $300.00 for labor as well as the cost of replacing the battery which if my math is correct, brought my total to $1 000.00 or more. After speaking with him, I spoke with a friend whose father is an ACE certified mechanic. He stated emphatically that this does not happen. He said that more likely, a tool had come into contact with my battery and shorted the battery and fusible links. I spoke with another mechanic who told me the exact same scenario and even offered to go with me to Pep Boys and look at the car. He knew all the pertinent questions to ask so I took him up on his offer. When we got there, we spoke with the assistant manager and the mechanic asked him if he had run a diagnostic on the alternator and he was told that they had. He asked if that was done prior to the battery and links shorting out and the assistant manager stated that it had been done after the fact. The mechanics next question was, if the car has to be running for this to be done, how did you accomplish this and asked to see the schematics. The assistant manager stated that he did not have then, his Master mechanic did. Why would these not remain on the premises? He also stated that my battery was running with 15% less than the required amps when they checked it during the oil change. My mechanic asked why they would even mess with the battery and was told this was standard procedure during an oil change.I asked the assistant manager if it was possible that anything had happened under the hood during the oil change to cause this to happen. He admitted that it was possible but his tech would have reported something like that to him immediately. I asked if there was any way to find out and he indicated that he had a camera he could roll back but never did so. He did offer to comp my oil change but I refused as I was not trying to get something for nothing.I am very disappointed in and disgusted with Pep Boys at this point. My next step is to contact the BBB and file a complaint about this issue. This is gross incompetence at the highest level!
Made an 11am appointment the night before, showed up 30 minutes early for the appointment, and by 2pm my car had still not been to touched. Customer service was terrible and they tried to rip me off. They said it would be $700 to change an alternator and it should be never more than $400. Autozone sells an alternator for $260 and Mavis Discount Tire charged $360 for new alternator and labor to replace it. This pep boys is terrible!!!!!!!
The staff is very helpful and professional. I would recommend going to this location for all your automotive needs. Managment was extremely helpful in making the decision on the repairs that needed to be fixed. Thanks Ivory for the excellent work you do to keep us coming back .
I’m glad I didn’t give 5 star reviews when he asked me to. He had some nerve. I’m not one to call corporate on someone but that was ridiculous. And on top of that no lie there was a dead roach in the corner. I wish I had taken a picture. Just because they don’t sell food it’s still a business establishment & needed to be more clean than that.
Keith, my hero!!! I got a flat on the way home from work. Waited on the side of interstate for 45 minutes for AAA. Flew home to let my dogs out but knew I needed a tire that night as I had to drive to Atlanta the next morning to take my husband for a medical procedure. Called Pep Boys 40 minutes before they were supposed to close. Keith told me to come on in and they’d get me setup even though they usually do not take any more customers after 6:15. Keith went the extra mile to get my car safely set with a new tire!!! They have earned my business!!
Had an appointment at 2:00 PM, dropped it off ten minutes prior. Spoke with the rep to see when I needed to pick it up. He told me 2:45 PM. No big deal, family and I went to the out door mall that is close to Pep Boys to wait it out. Came back at 2:40 and they had not even moved my truck yet. I told the lady I wanted my keys and she couldnt have cared less. I understand things happen, but knowing that an oil change there takes 45 minutes and they hadnt even started by the time they said they would be done is ridiculous. Then to blow off my concern as nonchalantly as she did really sealed the deal. I wont be returning to Pep Boys in Columbus.
They told us it be an hour to hour and half wait time for oil change . So this is our only car we walked to the shops behind it and shopped for two hours came back and our car hadn’t even moved from where we parked so I asked for my keys and they started making excuses after excuses. If you get behind that’s fine but you have office people that can make a phone call to the customers and let them know what’s going on but you didn’t so never will I use this place
I got my car fixed on another Pep Boys store 3 weeks ago and the check engine light turned back on. I took my car here and this guys really took good care of my car. They fixed the problem under WARRANTY and explained in details what the problem was. The staff was very nice and made sure I was satisfied with the service. I sure will continue as a customer.
I took my daughters car in b/c it was shaking at 40 mph. Pep Boy management said it needed two CV shafts...almost $1000 worth. I was very skeptical since I never heard any knocking when turning (which is typical of a bad CV joint). Took it to another local tire store and they balanced the tire for free. Problem solved! This is my second incident that I was skeptical on their diagnosis..please make sure you get a 2nd opinion from this group. Crooks...very disturbed and disappointed by this!
They didn’t do what I paid them for. When I went back for them to either finish the job or return my money, I was told that there was no manager that I could speak with to address my concerns. Lesson learned: just go to the auto dealership and have the real professionals get the job done the first time.
Had an appointment for 7am. When i arrived, the store was closed and didnt open till 7:15. Two other people arrived the same time i did. We all had appointments for the same time. They told me it was going to be a 45 minute wait for the oil change because the other two people got in the door before me. Whats the point in making an appointment if you dont keep it?
This place is horrible. Where do I start. I took my vehicle in to get an alignment done. Well I ended up getting the alignment and two new tires, cause they said it was recommended. Pep boys put the new tires on the rear and the tire that was on the rear they put on the front. (who does that) I waited 4 hrs to get this completed. I drove the vehicle home and notice that it was still pulling to the right. So I took it back on Saturday 4 hours before they close. I was told they wont have enough time to complete it and to bring it in Sunday at 9. I brought it in at 9 to find out it was going to take a long time for them to look at my vehicle for the second time. They did a test drive, and put it back on the alignment rack. Said that everything was good to go, except my cambers was off by .03, and they cant adjust them cause they dont have the correct equipment. Fast forward to today. I took my vehicle to the dealership because it was STILL pulling. This dealership said that there was no alignment completed and there was nothing wrong with my cambers. If you can avoid this pep boys by all means do so. The worst ever.
Had an appointment at 9. Reached there by 9:07...I was attended to at 9:12 and was told Im late even before I was greeted. He told me Im late because I came at 9:15. He looked at his clock, which showed 9:12 and then revised his time to after 9:10. He then took my keys. I waited for close to an hour and my car was not attended. I took my keys back and walked out. Never going back there again.
Anthony and David are awesome! I would personally like to thank them for helping my daughter tonight, almost at closing time. Walmart had messed up her valve stem on a new tire and wouldnt repair it. They went above and beyond the call of duty for her and being her Mother and 60miles away it was a lifesaver! In my opinion, a business is only as good as the people, whom work there and that makes this place great! Thank you again!
The staff at this Pep Boys location offered me stellar service from start to finish. After Sears Auto in the same shopping center told me they couldnt help me, Pep Boys made it so easy and pleasant. I appreciate their expertise and help so much. I highly recommend these guys!
Dont waste your time with this shop.I paid for an oil change, only to find that it was leaking when I got home. I brought it back the next day and the workers started arguing about who was working yesterday. They eventually redid it ... and it was leaking again when I got home. I had to crawl under there myself and tighten everything down.A few months later an airbag sensor lit up on my dash and I tried to get it looked at. They made me reschedule for two days in the future (and drive a potentially unsafe car in the meantime). When I brought it back, they looked at it for over an hour, shrugged, and said they had no idea what was wrong.Save yourself a lot of time by going elsewhere.
I had two tires replaced today which was done with no issue aside from the things in the back of my car. My air compressor looked like it was tossed up to the front end of the trunk space and the OE tools used to access the spare tire were sloppily thrown into the thing that is meant to hold them. On top of the metal tools loosely sitting inside of side compartment, the person who attempted to put the tools back ripped a hole in the carrying case. All of this comes down to laziness.
You might wanna go somewhere else. This place is trash. I brought my car in at 1030 for an oil change, headlight fix and fluid check. I was told that they would work on my car within an hour and would be done by noon. I called a ride and left. I didnt hear from them until 2:30 telling me they just did the oil change and gave me my recommendations and told me it would be another hour... it is now 6:26 and I still havent received my vehicle. I had to miss a dr. Appointment and someone had to work for me because I didnt have my car. How do you go from noon to 6:26 and you close at 7:00.... my fiance called at 6 and they said they were working on it now... did you stop at 2:30 and decided to rush through it at the end of shift? Trash. I will let everyone where not to go... garbage....
Slow service and inexperienced mechanics. They have no idea how to estimate the amount of time it takes to perform work on your car. They installed new tires on my truck and had a problem with my TPMS sensor. Didnt say what happened or where it was. Had to couple then four times over two days to find out which wheel received the new sensor. Will not do business with again.
DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE! Terrible customer service! I called on a Monday or Tuesday for a Saturday appointment. I brought my car in about 45 minutes early from the appointment time to drop it off. They informed me that my appointment time in the computer was for 3 hours after the time I had actually made the appointment for. Then they decided to tell me that they didnt have time to take anymore alignments for the day. Seriously?! Thats why I made an appointment. I wasnt just a walk in. The guy said there was nothing he could do and walked away. I was extremely upset. I left pep boys and called Epperly Tire in Bradely Park. They said they could take me right away and had awesome customer service. Go to Epperly Tire instead!
This place is a joke and has gotten my last dollar. I have taken my four vehicles to this location since they opened, I used to go to the Phenix City store when I lived there. This was a much better operation when they where Big 10, before they sold to Pep Boys. This place was operated pretty well when Brad was the manager. He was not working the last several times I had problems and today I found out he has quit. I think he is the smart one for jumping off this sinking ship. He must of got tired of covering up or fixing the incompetence. They now have a guy working the front named Jeremy. Jeremy has no customer service skills and would have a tough time running a lemonade stand. He may be great at changing oil but has no business working the front of the store. I have to question whos idea it was to promote him from the garage.I have had numerous problems, more than you want to read, but Brad was always good at fixing them or making an effort to make sure I came back. Today, after they messed my wifes oil change up yesterday, I gave them their final chance with my truck and they blew it. Funny thing is Jeremy does not care nor have a clue.Save your self some frustration....DONT GO TO PEP BOYS!!!!!!!!
The other two reviews describe my experience at this shop. They hard sell with an insincere style, and are deceptive about wait times, as well as costs. I was told that due to my vehicle type they didnt know what the oil change would end up costing, so I did not get the cost up front.
Service department is dishonest, will try to over sell you, and will try to lie to you and sell you more things and what your car really needs. I was visiting from out of town and I am a certified mechanic and mechanic in the Army and they argued with me on what my vehicle needed even though I showed them directly from Ford what was required of it. The man got belligerent and very disrespectful and rude towards me.
Please PLEASE people never EVER take your car to pep boys to get fixed..... I took my truck there for a belt...... They said it was my camshaft synchronizer, so Im like okay well fix that for me. I get it back yesterday no longer then 10 minutes in the car coolant starts spraying out my car and everything go broken... So today they tow it back and tell me its now my Thermostat...... and its going to cost another $200 on top of the $600 I just spent yesterday... They sure know how to milk you for some cash!!! Even though the thermostat was something they had to break nope its my fault... lol NEVER will I go back there EVER!!
DO NOT COME HERE!!!I arrived just after 8am for an oil change & tire rotation. There were 4 employees (including the desk person) with only 2 cars in the building. After waiting almost an hour & not seeing my vehicle move I asked when I could expect to be done, to which I was told it would be at least another 45min-1hr before they even got to mine. Meanwhile, through the glass I watched the techs stand around either bullshitting, eating, or on their phones checking fb or whatever. On the few occasions they actually were working on a vehicle, the lack of motivation & intentional ass dragging was just staggering. After coming to the conclusion that the receptionist/supervisor (or whatever she is) wasnt just complicit in the shenanigans- but intentionally not forthcoming with the fact A 45 min inconvenience was about to become an all day affair- I asked for my keys & left.Fire everyone & start over.
The staff here are flat-out rude. I have been to this location twice. Staff prioritize private conversations between each other over customer service. They did not honor the online appointments I set a week prior. Instead, I was forced to wait several hours before service.
We have a Honda Pilot we had bought during the winter, when we started having warm days, we realized the A/C was not working, my wife was staying with my daughter in Columbus Ga at the time, so I told her to take it to the local Pep Boys. These people quoted 1,872.00 for a new compressor, clutch and what not.Since Ive worked in automotive shops before, I thought this amount seemed high, looked it up on Google, and I saw where the highest should be around 1500.00 . So a few weeks later we took the Honda to Nalley Honda in Brunswick Georgia for a second try; they charged 160.00 for evac/recharge and diagnostic of the A/C (air conditioner) , and 200.00 for replacement of a clutch relay(which was the problem). Total for Nalley that day was 360.00.Pep Boys is not to be trusted - they will size you up when you walk in the door and try to take you for as much money as they think they can with no regard.
I came in to get a new tire put on something that takes 45 minutes to an hour and here I am going on 2 hours the staff seem to just get up and leave , car has been unattended for atleast 25 minutes i recommend somewhere else cause the staff here dont give any effort into do a good job in a timely manner
The wait was rather long. I couldnt get a real quote because I wasnt getting a service done that day. I think because the guy was too lazy to look it up. He just gave a expensive quote that I found too be half the price somewhere else. Overall, I think they play around too much. Some just dont know what the heck theyre doing. There is not enough mechanics.
I was supposed to pick up my car yesterday afternoon but went to this morning for some reasons. When I approached to my car at the parking lot ,THE DRIVERS WINDOW WAS OPENED ALL THE WAY DOWM. I dont think they opened it with no reason in this Sunday morning, that means.. they left it opened it since yesterday afternoon??? Fortunately, I verified my GPS and some stuffs were still in the car. But, this is simply ridiculous service or mistake for security. What would be happened if it was raining last night??
They seem under staffed it took 4 hours for me to get a oil change. I gave them another chance and this time made an appointment it still took 2 hours to get my oil changed. Then they mention I have an oil leak that they knew about but didnt mention to me the previous visits. Just disppointing performance
Pepboys in Columbus, GA on Whittlesley Rd. Is HORRIBLE! Do NOT trust them with your car and loved ones riding in your car. The provide substandard service. I bought my son 2 tires and one of them fell off while he w a small driving. He could have been killed and the car was damaged significantly. They agreed to repairs but have had the car THREE weeks and have not touched it because the had to order a part. This is an Acura! Not some fancy, high dollar car! CRAZINESS!
I took a battery that I purchased from pepboys to be tested on 2/8/16...They told me that the battery has to charge so I called them the next day and they couldnt find the battery said they would call me when it was found,I never got a call back..I called them back on 2/10/16 and was told the battery is good and charged and ready to pick up..pick the battery up and took it to auto zone where they told me the battery was not fully charged and they had to charge it it fully to see if the battery is good or bad..they charged it and the battery is bad..took the battery back to pepboys and they will exchange the battery but it is not on stock,so now I have to wait until 2/14/16 to get a new battery..this is a major inconvenience.
I went there for a Rear Break bub which was prepaid as I Continued to wait finally I was told they were working on it I went out to my car this guy tell me that something was wrong with the wiring and electrician will have to look at it I told him that I wasnt going to put any extra money 5 min later its fix I always heard the tail of taking advantage of a female But not today!!
They should have never did this to their store you cant purchase anything at all it is not that kind of the only thing you can do is get your car serviced pointless if you think youre going to go in there and buy anything that other pep boys are known for its like a half of pep boys

2022-07-09Dropped the car off with power to have them diagnose what is wrong with the alternator. They did not move the car out of the spot that it was left in said they would not work on the car because of the wiring of the alternator harness. Offered no assistance in contacting a shop that can do the work. (We called plenty of shops that if they could not do the work they gave us numbers to people that could even electricians. These people did none of the sort. Did nothing to de escalate the situation. When we pulled into the parking lot the first thing I saw was that the car was LEFT OPEN IN THE RAIN WITH THE HOOD OPEN SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER DAMAGE WITH THE BATTERY AND FUSE BOX UNCOVERED AND SOAKING WET. While all of the workers were inside of the building or in the shop bay. The Car now has absolutely no power whatsoever. Cannot even lock the doors but when the car was dropped off it had power just would not crank. We are currently having the vehicle assessed for water damage. When asked for the General managers number we were told 1-800-PEPBOYS. Chuck wouldn’t even write down the number. The gentleman in the front dealing with other customers had exceptional service but we are VERY disappointed in this shop as a whole. Would not recommend.

2022-06-17I had an amazing experience for a last minute problem with my vehicle today! Chuck was informative and helpful and I felt like the time was acceptable for the amount of work. They also called to tell me about any additional care might be needed. Definitely put me first as the customer and I’m so happy I chose this location today! Thank you all!

2022-05-22OUTSTANDING! Traveling from New Jersey and our tire was going flat. I called at 3:58pm on Sunday, and said we had an emergency. Chuck said come on in we will help you. They changed the tire at a great price. We are thankful and appreciate Chuck and this PepBoys so much! Great service, caring and professional!

2022-06-19Great experience!! I was running to the grocery store with my kids and got some sort of hook stuck in my tire! We went to Pep Boys on a Sunday afternoon. They were able to repair it in about 30 minutes. I will recommend them to anyone!

2022-03-22They were amazing, I went there on a Sunday afternoon about 30 minutes before they closed, my sister was moving and the tire went out on the trailer and was sitting on the side of the road, they got us in and out before they closed although they were very busy. Youve definitely earned our business, great people that really care. BIG THANKS to Pep Boys yall are the Best!

2022-05-14Informed me at last oil change that my front brakes needed to be done, & tried to talk me into getting new rotors also when asking abt brake services for the front only. they said it was going to cost me over 500$ to get it done, just the front-took it to another professional & they said my rotors were fine & i didn’t need them to be replaced at all. he said the front ones didn’t even have anything wrong w them- it was the back rotors that actually needed more attention.i understand that people need to make their money & they do it how it works, but i wish these auto shops would quit going for the young women that know nothing about cars & completely scam them out of everything.

2022-04-30I had a nail in the side of my tired during an out-of-town trip to Columbus Georgia. The Toyota dealer could not fix it because they did not have a tire in stock. Chuck and Devon Pep Boys at the Columbus store were phenomenal. They got me a replacement tire shipped and overnight and went out of the way to get me back on the road. Many thanks!

2022-07-08Says it opens at 7 am. It is now 7:20 am and no ones home. Regardless if work gets done on the car here or not (a tow from here at this point would take 40-70 minutes), the fact that no one is around is immeasurably frustrating. Also, business has no visible hours of operation posted on the door or anywhere else I can see... Other potential customers have come and gone. Good job Pep Boys....

2022-03-04They do a good job with the oil change and stuff. However, we always call and set up an appointment in advance, but they always tell us it will be about an hour and a half before they will take the car back. Three different occasions Ive waited over three hours for my car to get done. I make an appointment in advance so I dont have to wait, but my car always still ends up being put last. Very frustrating
