Perry Rubber is the best bike shop in Savannah. I’ve been going to them for over a year for everything from major repairs to putting air in my tires and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. They have a great turnaround time with repairs and tuneups, they never keep you waiting long. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable and they really listen to you and work with you. You won’t get a better price in Savannah for their degree of quality, professionalism and attention to detail. They’re simply the best.
Had my bike tuned up and bushings replaced. Was told over the phone I was going to be happy with it. Showed up and not only did it look new it rode like new. Cody did a phenomenal job! Jumped right on and took it for a spin and was gliding over all the surfaces Savannah has to offer like a Cadillac. Didn’t realize how much I beat up my bike....will be returning for all my biking needs in the future!
Excellent service. Purchased my bike at another retailer. It was supposed to be fully assembled and ready to ride. After getting it home I took it out for my first ride. Within two blocks the seat came loose and I fell off bike in traffic. Lucky I wasnt hurt. Didnt trust going back to the shop where I bought the bike. Decided to call Perrys Rubber. No appointment needed. Fixed and assembled seat in a few moments. Thank you Tony.
Perry Rubber is absolutely committed to making sure you walk out of there with exactly what you wanted. SUPER knowledgeable and friendly staff. I went in for a bike fit, which is a very big purchase for me. They were more than happy to walk me through every step of their process and made sure I was getting what I paid for and more. Worth the 45 minute drive from where I live. So happy with my experience, and theyve gained a loyal customer!
If I could give more stars I would. The owner and all employees are so helpful and kind. I’m brand new to cycling which for me is intimidating. Sometimes when starting a new sport you don’t want to ask questions, but the owner and one of the gentleman answered all of my questions and went out of there way to give me extra info and tips to help me get better. The shop is very clean and organized. My bike needed a small fix and it was done and perfect in 5 days. Everyone I have encountered in the store has gone out of there way too be helpful.
My wife and I were in town for a visit, and I stopped by the bike shop just because Im a cyclist and I like to check out new shops. The staff was very friendly and I had a great fixie discussion with one of them for a while. I think that is a great quality of a bike shop and a requirement to help bring new riders into the fold. They appear to have everything you would need for a ride and a shop to help support it down the road.
Bought a bike on Monday morning for my wife. This morning, she was out on her first real ride and the crank arm came off her bike about 12 miles from home. I went to get her, loaded the bike on the back and we took a drive back to Savannah after breakfast to the shop. They fixed it and adjusted the bike for her and taught her some things about it. Great white glove serviceI could really have written a business case in school about how they treated us. “So sorry that came off. I hope you weren’t hurt. We’ll take care of it right away. And I’m glad you came along to be fitted”The associate spent 45-60 minutes with her, teaching the whole time. All so you get the same love of cycling that they have. He was knowledgable and credible about fitness beyond biking, talked her through target heart rate zones, explained why we position you on the bike this way, how this bike will feel different from the cruiser shed been using, and the next steps she should take on this bike before thinking about adding to it or upgrading to the next
LOVE THIS SHOP! I stopped in to get a bike helmet for my mother who recently started riding, and the store manager Edgemont helped us for the entirety of our visit. He was knowledgeable, down to earth, encouraging, and cared more about us getting the right product than buying the most expensive thing. He made expert recommendations and all the employees in the shop created a warm, inviting vibe. I ended up buying a new helmet too! He even helped me diagnose what type of saddle I need using a machine that diagnosed my sitting bones and recommended another shop he trusted in Atlanta. I cant imagine a better shop or better staff to take your bike to. Thanks for your help guys, well be back!
I cant thank Perry Rubber Bike Shop enough; I picked up a single speed bike, and while its on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of price point, they treated me with enthusiasm and kindness. I will continue to drive from Charlotte to give them my business as they are top notch. Super cool shop!!!
So my son thought something was wrong with his bike and we realized after dragging it into the shop that nothing was wrong, Huge laugh.I love how honest they are! I definitely would do business with this company.Honesty is everything!Thank you Perry Rubber bike shop.2nd visit in two months with different situation and different bike but same professional service. This bike shop is the most honest business I’ve encountered. Thank you a 2nd time.Highly recommended.
Knowledgeable and caring staff with good prices. I was able to buy a Specialized road bike last week when they are virtually impossible to find anywhere. They charged me a very fair price when they could have easily doubled the price and still sold this beautiful bike within 24 hours. They even gave me some extras for free as well as did a custom fitting adjustment. Excellent experience throughout. I will definitely be going back even though I live 90 minutes away. It’s a cool shop in a picturesque section of Savannah’s historic district.
Great friendly service. Only needed a front basket for my vintage bike but you wouldhave thought I just bought a new bike from them them the way they treated me. Great, friendly service and FREE installation of my new basket and were kind enough to answer street safety questions from an Ol guy—60– who is riding a bike for the first time in almost 40 years and wanted to be safe on the street. Thanks guys especially for your patience !
We stopped in while in Savannah on vacation because my bike needed some unexpected repairs. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and fixed it in minutes. And, I couldnt beat the price! (Free!) It was only going to be $10 for an adjustments anyway; the guy was just that nice!
Perry Rubber is hands down the best bike shop in Savannah. The staff is so kind, knowledgeable, considerate, and know exactly what they are doing. They made my bike being stolen painless by helping me fix up my new bike as well as make sure its as safe as possible. I am a loyal customer and wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Travellers, this is a wonderful bike shop in downtown savannah. We were able to get all the bike gear we needed to pedal around savannah, which is a magical experience, especially in early spring and fall. The man who helped us was very knowledgeable and told about all out choices and explained which things would be better for us to use, especially in downtown where there a lot of cars, pedestrians, dogs, little kids, horses with carriages, rickshaws, and the list goes on, you want to have all the things you need to travel safely by bike. You get it all here. One stop shopping for all your biking needs and your off! Zipping around beautiful savannah. Check it out. We recommend.
Ive been coming her for almost a year, and I have always had a great experience. Solid work for more then a fair price, done fast. The people here are really geared (Ha!) to take care of the bike community of savannah and not just make a sale. I use my bike to commute to work and ride recreationally, so I put a fair amount of miles on an older bike but they keep it running just like new. So if you live and bike in savannah or just stopping by for a vacation, dont hesitate to stop here for anything. I promise theyll take care of you.
Awesome bike rental experience! Savannah was the start of a week-long bike tour of the Georgia coast. The rental was road-ready when I stopped in to pick it up. Edgemont expertly fitted it to my short body ensuring I would have a safe and comfortable ride. The staff was welcoming, genuine and extremely helpful. I would rent here again next time I am in the Savannah area.
Great place to buy or service a bike. They offer small things like tightening up the chair or bolts or pumping up the tires for free (I believe because I bought a bike from them and was in their system, though it might be for anybody?) For minor repairs like replacing tire tubes, you will probably get the bike back the following day when they will give you a call to let you know its finished. Pleasure to do business here.
While spending a few days in Savannah we thought it would be a good idea to rent bikes and headed over to Perry Rubber. They couldnt have been nicer and more helpful. Everyone in there was knowledgable and friendly, and took an interest in us having the best biking experience possible. We got the last 2 bike rentals they had, so I would recommend calling ahead and not leaving it to chance.Definitely go check this place out.
Awesome shop!I was on my way from Memorial Hospital to east McDonough to pay rent when I picked up a nail in my back tire. Completely flat...I called Perry, who was closing in less than an hour, and they told me to come on down. I didnt get there until ~530-545. They were happy to help even though they were closing in ~15 minutes. Put a new tube and tire on, aired up both tires, and had me on my way in about ten minutes. I will definitely be back!
Got a pinch flat by the Georgia Port Authority on my way back to South Carolina. Uberd to the bike shop and they had me back on the road in 20 minutes at a reasonable rate.Service was very good. They helped me air up my tires to the desired PSI before leaving. Also let me refill my water at their water cooler.I would definitely go back here.
The guys at PR Bike Shop were awesome! I was visiting from out of town with my bike, and they took the time to give me detailed instructions and a map for an amazing 32-mile loop out to Whitemarsh Island. Even if you dont have time to stop by the shop, their website has great info for routes around town. No other shop in town provides that kind of help-before-you-even-set-foot-in-the-store! I highly recommend PR Bike Shop. Thanks, guys!
These people are probably some of the nicest people to have your bike worked on or to make a purchase...They have the BEST customer service, they are VERY timely...unlike some of the other bike shops in Savannah, they dont have you on a 2 week waiting list to have a chain oiled or a cable replaced....they usually have the work done in 2 hours, depending on what it is....They realize people that use their bike for transportation, not for competition. They have found a niche in the service that has otherwise been ignored by other bicycle shops.
I have spent a lot of money at Perry and like all the shops in town but i have to give it to them for my last experience. I was shopping around for a new high end bike and found the one i wanted. I went in to special order an s works Tarmac (at a little bit of a discount as it was the previous year model). Specialized had no stock of the frame I spent so much time deciding on(the same thing other dealers in town told me) David told me that he would make something happen and the next day the frame was on its way. All this on a transaction that probably didnt make the shop much money as it was a previous year frame. And in response to the guy below, the mechanics are competent, David will get rid of ones that are rude and not good at their jobs.
I had turned my older Trek 820 in on a Tuesday to get updated for my son to use at USC campus. Andrew who was working the shop said it should be done by Thursday, Friday noon at latest. Unfortunately I lost my job at Gulfstream on thursday and was leaving friday. I stopped and found that Andrew had the left the company and not worked on my bike at all. David, the owner was in the shop and we chatted bout what happened. He told me hey, go pack your stuff, I will put this on the rack now and it will one in a few hours. True to his word, he made that bike as nice as when i bought it and assured me the bike would last my sons tenure at the college. He was super polite, super nice, and just got it all done. I came back later, he charged what andrew said it would be, and it was cleaned from front to back. It was very nice to have someone take so much care for an older unit. cant say enough good stuf
I had high hopes for this shop as it is conveniently located next to Gallery Espresso; a nice little coffee shop where they remember your order and local cyclists meet up for group rides. Several riders had warned me not to go to Perry, but I hadnt understood their animosity until I met Justin Bristol-manager. I was told that the bike would be fixed by close, at which time I was charged more than the total on my ticket for a job that he did not even do. This left me stranded there for hours after they had closed up and gone for the evening. In fact when I finally did get the bike home, I found that there were even parts missing! I know one staff member shouldt ruin a reputation, but they chose to give that boy a position above the other staff, and dealing with the public on top of that, so the fault is not his alone. Clearly they value incompetence and therefore, I will not be back.
So took a fairly inexpensive bike to get tuned up because it came to me shipped in a box and so a lack of correct tools only got me as far as riding it there to drop it off. The quote was fair for the work I was asking for. Although I feel like they could have done it faster considering the basic repair I needed done. I do have to say the staff isnt as condescending as other bike shops downtown that have guys in handlebar mustaches and overly tight Arcade fire shirts saying it wont be worth the money to tune my bike Because it wasnt a 500+ dollar fixie. I think I am going to be using this shop more often because not only did I get an email telling me my bike was done but a text and a call. Oh by the way of you are paying 500 for a fixie then by default makes you an idiot.
My experience with Perry rubber bike shop and its team has been refreshing! The guys working here truly have a passion for cycling. I noticed they have a deep knowledge for the technology of today & they also get excited to see the old vinrage bikes salvaged and restored. For me and my family they have revived and serviced 3 older road bikes back to top performance levels. My son and I also had Edgement properly fit test us to our road bikes. It was a enjoyable and knowledge filled experience to say the least. I made a friend in Edgemont over a short period of time. He is a true professional and I respect that! Im now in the process of having them build my first Triathalon bike for me! I am beyond excited to see the difference it will make in my training and race results. It is rare to just like to drop in to a business and just talk to the team members there and feel like you are not intruding on their time. I never felt that way here! :) Thanks for a continued great experience!
Great service, the staff really took the time to listen to a novice bicyclist and recommend something that fit my needs. They even provided some great advice on maintance and how to register my bike with SCMPD in the event it was stolen. Super friendly, couldnt recommend these guys enough!
I had a blow out and needed a tune up. $145 when I picked up the bike the lock was gone. Spoke with someone who said they would check it out. No one called. I called again and got nowhere so I went by. Some guy told me to use this little thick wire looking lock while they continued to (supposedly) look for my chain lock. The next day the bike was stolen due to the inadequate lock .When I approached the owner or manager he was very defensive and even said he would call the police . It was so bizzare. Throughout the entire episode they never tried to help.
Went in on Wednesday to get a bike and walked out a happy customer. I left everything in store to have Justin set up the bike for me for fitting the next morning and I was overly excited to see it ready. He spent about an hour with me and got the bike feeling very comfortable. Wouldnt go any where else.
Incredible. I stopped by today because my wifes motorized scooter (she has MS and is disabled) had a flat tire. Its a little wheel about 8 inches in diameter. I had to push it 6 blocks to get there. Of course they didnt have an inner tube that size but they did have a patch kit. I asked them if they would make the repair. They refused. They said if they used a patch kit and it sprung a leak later I could come back and complain about it. I said I would sign a paper absolving them of any future liability. I just didnt want to have to try to do the repair myself with a nice pair of pants and a brand new Pendleton shirt on the sidewalk. The repair guy still refused. I barged in on the owner who was talking to a customer (yeah, I was pretty friggin irate at this point) and said that this was the worst example of customer service I had seen from here to Timbuktu. He listened to my complaint and then agreed with his repair guy. They refused to do the repair. They did, however, lend me a wrench (what nice people!) so I took the wheel off on the sidewalk in front of the store, pumped up the inner tube, ducked in a nearby patch of water to find the leak, used the patch I bought at the store to fix the leak, reinstalled the inner tube, pumped it up, reassembled the scooter and was on my way. In Savannah I have been overwhelmed in general by Southern hospitality. This bike store was the exception to the rule.
Not a good experience. I enquired about buying a bike gave them what I was looking for and price range, with contact information. After the better part of the week I stopped in to the shop. The place was empty but still had a hard time getting any help. Finally one of the three people behind the counter walked up and asked me if I need help. Let’s just say not a friendly place if you don’t look like the average college student.
THE GROUP RIDES ARE A BUST.Simply put.Gather around, cyclists, and let me tell you a little story about how I could have taken a plane home for winter break, I could have taken a bus, but me, the silly velomaniac that I am, decided to hitch a rack up to my car and drive my bikes down. I woke up early, across town, and chugged a protein drink to prepare, excited that I would get to ride for the first time with a group of fellow bike people, in the hometown that I never grew to know on my bike. I didnt want to bring my phone. I wanted to trust the ride. Before the ride, I spoke with the owner. I told him, Im not familiar with the roads, I never really road here growing up, and that Im worried Ill get lost. He told me just to follow him, to stick with him, that everything would be fine. Another shop employee I saw, I quickly asked about what would happen were I to get a flat. He said as a no drop ride, that shouldnt be a problem, and my not having a pump or anything wouldnt be an issue.I believe that when I dropped my sunglasses we had been going a steady 23-24mph, and as a womens Cat B cyclist, Im not unaccustomed to that pace within a peloton, but it was far from the advertised pace on the website. As I struggled to bridge the gap, it became more and more clear that this was never a no-drop ride. It was a suckerpunch to the gut, and a swift kick of shame.I got dropped on a no drop ride because no one care to look, no one had the professionalism to count heads, no one had the courtesy to try to monitor the pace or even bother with friendly conversation. Ive been riding competitively and seriously for as long as Ive been an adult, and Ive never witnessed such a shameful representation of what cycling as a community should stand for. Please, if you feel equally as alienated by the shady politics of this ride and the way its actually discouraged me from racing and distanced me from this shop, say something to them so they understand. Otherwise, the integrity of cycling will be lost on their big budget bikes and strange dishonesty.
Perry Rubber in Pooler and downtown is great. Everyone who works there is very helpful. I have Perry Rubber do all my work and they have always done a fantastic job. Dave Udinsky, the owner of both shops is awesome and makes sure everything is working and also takes the time to explain what is needed andy why. He also has looked for low cost solutions to problems which I appreciate.
I look them up online and it say that it was a store in pooler, I got to the location in pooler to find out it was completely closed down , then I drove fromPooler all the way downtown Savannah after looking them up online and it said that they was Opened Online and when I got there the man that was inside the store said they closed on Thursday , they need to update their online information

2022-01-04Friendly staff, quick service, beautiful shop and location. We purchased a bike from a large retailer for my son for Christmas and unfortunately it was not put together correctly and after a very short first time ride on it the bearings were ruined! No longer having the receipt for the bike to bring back with the warranty we opted to just take it to a bike shop to get it repaired. I dropped the bike off Monday early afternoon and it was finished the same day! I was told their typical turnaround is 3 to 7 days, but I received a call the same afternoon telling me the bike was fixed that they knew that we had a little boy at the house ready to ride it again! Great customer service and a very affordable fix!

2022-03-19These guys saved my vacation! I was on the way to Florida when my bike rack let go on I-95. The handlebar and brake lever on my brand new Gazelle were destroyed. To make a long story short, they not only had the parts but were able to get me back on the road in less than a day. No small feat in this age of supply chain issues and labor shortages. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

2022-01-04Definitely a 6 star experience every time I enter the door at Perry Rubber. I recently had my bike serviced and can’t say enough about the Perry Rubber team. David, Edge, and Cody make you feel like family. They’re Professional, friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable. Thanks for all you do to keep my old, worn out, neglected bike on the road. I can’t wait till I save up for a battery assisted option for my Giant propel🤪

2021-06-16I’ve been getting my bike fixed by Perry Rubber since I first came to Savannah in 2013. My bike has and continues to be my main source of transportation . Initially I had a nice one speed that was stolen and now I have an expensive bike from target that has lasted me for years. Regardless of the type of bike I brought in the Perry rubber employees have always been kind and helpful.Today nothing needed repair with my bike but I came in to get some air in my tires. I was directed to the pump by an employee who then checked on me to make sure everything was hooked up properly. He was kind and informative which was especially appreciated in my sweaty state .All in all you can’t ask for better people to help you with your bike - especially if it’s your main source of transportation like me ! Thank you Perry Rubber people ✨

2021-11-24Lovely shop with super nice and attentive staff. It was a pleasure to talk with the owner David about their local cycling scene and Specialized bikes. Looking forward to future visits when I am in the area as I love getting down to Savannah.

2021-09-03Top notch shop here in Savannah! I have been travelling for a few weeks and heard about a group ride from the shop on Saturday mornings at 8am sharp. Called the shop this morning about a rental and was fitted on a nice Pinerello this afternoon. Ready to do a group ride in the morning. The folks at the shop made sure I had everything needed. Great service and attention to detail. Thank you!

2020-12-20Im someone who is brand new to cycling, and never walked into a bike store prior to this visit. We were helped by David, who was so INCREDIBLY patient with me, and explained the basics of what to find in a bike. Even though I wasnt confident buying a bike in the moment, I still appreciated David allowing me to take the time to decide (I later called back in the evening to buy the bike). I returned the following week to get my bike fitted and I appreciated the 1:1 attention they give to fit you without feeling rushed. I would 100% recommend Perrys to anyone who is new or a veteran to biking. Thanks for making me a happy (and faithful) customer!

2021-11-01Was on vacation when my 30 year old tires gave out. Perry Rubber had the tires and tubes to get me back on the road and took me in last minute to make the changes. Great service and friendly staff. Saved the vacation. Highly recommend.
