The product I was buying rang up for more than what I had seen on the Petco website. The clerk, I think his name might have been Justin, was very helpful in viewing the website and updating the price. I really appreciated his willingness to make it right. The store was very clean and well laid out. It was easy to find what I needed.
Excellent experience. I called after work in a panic because my dog needed a cone, post ear surgery. Michele confirmed they had the soft cone I was looking for and offered to leave it at the front for me.When I arrived Larry knew what I needed and I asked if he had any hard cones just in case my dog needed a heavy duty one (which he ended up using both!)He had great advice, checked me out quickly and honestly they made my day with their kindness. I was a stressed out dog mama and appreciated their help.
These negative reviews are ridiculous, people will do anything to get something for free. This salon is the BEST! My dog is always happy when I pick him up and the groomers are always kind and professional. Came in last week while it was busy and the groomer took the time to answer all my questions and made sure we were took care of. Dont let the nasty customers steer you wrong! This salon will always have my business!
Samantha was so kind and helpful. Instacart wanted a llama, we searched and searched. Thats the definition of customer service. I was holding up the line of the llama but she bounced right back to the checkout lane and two manned the lane. Im impressed. Good job Samantha, thanks for being a “no man left behind” attitude towards customers
This Petco location (2345 Market Place Blvd Cumming, GA 30040) is the best I have ever been to. I always receive great customer service here. I specifically, purchase saltwater fish at this store and they have special ordered me the fish I wanted. They put the customer first. I would like to recognize Meghan which I believe is the assistant manager now. I was shopping there when she was in charge of aquatics and she did a great job with keeping the fish, keeping tanks clean and providing exceptional customer service by taking time to speak with me and answer any questions. I would also like to mention how great of a job Lindsey the head of aquatics now does. In both taking care of the fish, keeping the aquariums clean and providing great customer service by taking the time to speak with me as well. Janet who is on the register is another great employee always smiling and takes great care of customers as well. I am not sure of the names of other employees at this location but everyone does a great job. I believe Nicole is the store leader at this location she also provides great customer service and she runs a great store. They all deserve the recognition and should be congratulated for there great work. Petco is lucky to have everyone here!
It was very easy to order online and call for curbside pick-up. I was short on time and the staff member was very quick to bring the order out to me. This was my first time ordering online and I was very pleased. I have been to four (4) Petco stores in the last month. Each store is setup just a little different, but every department is well marked and easy to navigate. Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable. I like shopping at Petco.
Took my two doggos to get a professional grooming last Saturday, I usually do it myself because of the skyrocket prices out there. I must say, this Petco exceeds my expectations!!! Not only is the service fast, friendly and efficient but their prices are simply the best, so affordable!! Brittany, our groomer did an excellent job in every area. She listened patiently, offered options,l and left my doggos impeccable!! I left there feeling so great and fuzzy inside. Not only do they have awesome prices but also grooming perks.
I recently adopted two guinea pigs from this store. The employee i delt with was very knowledgeable and patient as I asked a ton of questions. Unfortunately I do not remember her name. But she is an asset to the company. Helped me choose items for the little piggies without automatically suggesting the most expensive. I will be back to purchas all of my guinea pig needs.
I ordered 2 Sergento flea collars online. I got a real good deal for ordering online and picking up in the store! (Thats the way to go!) But apparently the store doesnt have my PAL rewards number entered by my phone number correctly. So I gave the girl my rewards number so that I can get credit for my purchase since it was very costly, and she was too lazy to enter it in like that. She said that it will be corrected within a day or two and that I can just get credit on my future purchases!
One of the most friendly Petco I visited. All the staffs are friendly and knowledgeable..They take care of every customer and is ready to help on customer requirements/ questions.. I was there for an aquarium requirement and the staff explained me a lot and helped me to choose the fish.. he also explained how I need to acclimate the fish to my aquarium...my kid who was keen about reptiles was looking at the reptile section...one another staff tried to explain him and educate him about the retail eventhough he was aware that we were there for aquarium...this is called customer service to make every one comfortable and happy at store..Hats off team..you ppl are great...
Terrible online ordering experience! Most vets around this area will not validate or talk to third party RX providers because they cant guarantee the 3rd party is sending the right meds for your pet. So, Petco indicates you can send in a RX (snail mail style) from the vet and avoid that step. BUT... then Petco has to validate the RX with the vet???? Makes NO sense, this is the second time Ive tried to get an order placed with Petco for this medicine for my dog and its turned out to be process and delay after delay. SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME, DO NOT USE PETCO TO ORDER MEDS ONLINE. Waste of too much time! Learn from my mistaken trust in a company that obviously has no clue how to make this easy for customers.
I LOVE this store! I’ve got so many of my pets there including a ferret and a savannah monitor, but this leads to a problem with their monitors. They don’t keep their humidity up right so they can’t function properly, and some of their supply for things related to more common animals such as cats and dogs are rather expensive. It’s better to get that stuff as chewy instead of a pet store. But besides that they always have healthy animals when it comes to ones that are easier to take care of..... 8/10
I always enjoy picking up my orders that I do on-line. The sales associates are always very nice and volunteer to take my order to the car for me. I enjoy watching the puppy training and all the furbabies that come into the store. It always puts a smile on my face behind my mask.
This store is a hot mess. The store itself is just messy and their fish gave the rest of our fish ich. The employees and manager are awful, they convinced my bf to put a return on a store card instead of back on our card and when we couldnt find anything to exchange for they refused to give us our money back!! DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! Drive to the Pet Supermarket in Suwanee or Alpharetta.....their stores are clean and have wonderful service.
If 0 were an option thats what I wouldve choose. We walked in to no greeting or associates. We went to look at the chinchillas and they both looked deathly sick. Then we went to look at fish and wanted to buy some but, nobody ever notice us. I went to the front and I had to find someone and I asked if I could see one of the chinchillas because I felt so sorry for them and I was going to take them both home so they could get the proper care and the lady said yeah sure then said theyre not for sale and then told me that we had to wear a mask even though we were in there 30 mins and had to find an associate our self. All of the tanks are dirty and the pets look so unhealthy. How is this place still in business?!?!
We went to Petco after a snowstorm on 2/8 just wanting to get out of the house. Apparently a lot of other people had the same idea because the store was pretty busy and there was only one person working there. Sorry but I didnt catch her name. She helped EVERYONE and was 100% courteous and as efficient as possible. Most people just needed to be rung up but a few needed help finding items and I bought 9 fish which meant she had to catch them. She could not have been more helpful, patient, and polite. Best attitude I have ever witnessed. There is a PetSmart right across the street from this location which is larger and has better parking. But if this is what I can expect from Petco I will happily switch.
The pet carrier was not the color my daughter wanted (in fact it was the only color of the 4 that she would not like). The other colors were not in stock so I asked to return it and was forced to take a store credit because I used PayPal to make the purchase. You should not offer PayPal as an option if you cannot easily return items. I rarely shop at Petco and this experience does not make me want to more often.
They should greet each customer with a puppy to walk around with while they shop. I bought my beta fish there, his name is Guts. My only complaint is that the stuff there is expensive. I’ve gone on amazon to compare prices and with some items there’s a big price difference. Otherwise, great place to shop.
I am giving one star towards the grooming department. I have been coming to this store every other week since I moved to the Cumming location. I always like to call before I come in for my dogs nail trim. They tell me every time that I do not need to call or make an appointment for nail trimming and buffing. Last month I walked in and waited for someone to come assist me. I was told that they are understaffed and cannot do grooming at that time. Fine, I get it. Today at one I brought both my dogs in for nail trimming and if you have two dogs you know it can be a little crazy, I walked in and waited for the customer in-front of me to handle her issue. Once it was my turn I gave her(not sure of her name. Brown hair, pulled up) my dogs updated rabies information. I stood waiting as she put in the information in the computer. It didnt take that long but she was very standoffish and obviously not in the mood to chat. Once she was finished she said you just want to update your information?....No I am here to get my dogs nails trimmed. She told me that they are not accepting walk ins anymore today and I need an appointment. After leaving because of the confusion and rude behavior I called the store and asked to speak with a manager. I was told she was at lunch and I could leave my number and she might get back to me. I told him no I want to speak with her... its 8 pm and still NO call back. It was very disappointing. AVOID THIS LOCATION. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AND MOST IMPORTANTLY YOUR FUR BABY!
We had the best experience there. We went to get things for our bearded dragon and Isaac was so much help. He is exceptionally knowledgeable about reptiles and had great advice and ideas of what to do to make sure our little dragon stays healthy and happy. He helped us find exactly what we needed.
We do not believe there is a crisis with the corona virus. No different than a cold. When we went into your store on Saturday we were told we could not come in without a mask. We said no problem we will be buying from Chewy from now on. Too bad for you we have been a customer for 14 yrs and have 5 cats. You do the math. Too bad you like to scare people for nothing.
Always great customer service and someone willing to help you. Ive done a pay online, pick-up in store for my dogs food as the location in Cumming seems to always carry the flavor of food that my 3 dogs like and one closest to our home does not - worth the 45 min drive. They have helped carry out to vehicle at times when someone is available as I cant lift more than 10 lbs due to disability. Thank you #PetCoHighly recommend this location.#LetsGuide
Cumming Petco store is always clean and well stocked; I go there to buy my little beagles food. Megan helped me choose the right food for her, and so I go back to that store for my purchases. I know that there will always be a variety for me from which to choose and help if I need it.
I needed a new groomer bc my current one wasn’t doing a good job trimming my 2 labs nails. I have taken both dogs in the last 2weeks. The girls at the grooming center are lovely. Both my pups enjoy going & they do a Fantastic job! We have a new groomer! Thank You Ladies 😃
We had been taking our older dog to Petco for the rush rover appointments. Today when we took her to her appointment that I had made they simply said we can’t groom her because she is old. That’s what rush rover is for. The girl was pretty rude to my husband as well. We have moved thank goodness and was in town for the day. Yep wouldn’t recommend this place if you have an older pet. Unhappy about this company treating us in such a manner since we had been a long time customer.
This is the worst grooming place ever. I have been taking my dog here for some time and recently have been mistreated. We made an apt a week ahead only to be texted that they can not see my pet the day of his apt.Once I called the groomer stated that my dog bit and she refuses to see him again and that he has been referred out of all Petco stores. This was news to us. No one ever reported biting prior to this and our dog has been groomed many places as well as this place. I contacted management who never got back to me. New groomer not so good. Not very nice. She wont treat your pet well. Stay away from here.
Never go to this store, went to use the pet vet service they offer and they have signs for walkins, No appt needed and they do not stand by this sign, because I only had one appointment and because I called corporate on them they would not see any of my dogs not even the dog that I had an appointment for. This store is shady and no one should use this store ever. They dont stand by there customers and honor the services, they make excuses. This store needs to be shut down and the manager needs to be fired.
They had boxes of varmin sitting in the aisle waiting to be put into cages while I was there. I could hear the scratching/chewing. It was gross. I had to wait in the car while my daughter picked out her fish. Beta fish selection was great though and it has survived a long time.
I love the look of the store as well as the variety of animals. The things I do not like about it for one is the fact that there is absolutely no customer service what so ever. Secondly, the store smells absolutely terrible. There is no hello welcome to petco, no do you need any assistance, absolutely nothing and I was in there for over an hour. As soon as you walk through the doors it smells like feces and fish. When I have walked into other pet stores(which I will not name) they have never smelt like this before. Thirdly, the prices are absolutely outrageous!!!!!!! I went into another pet store and found these exact items for at least half the price!!!!! That ranges from terrarium decorations to fish to things as simple as dog toys. Its just too much. The main thing I am ranting about is the customer service. You may not think it but that is the most important part of a customers experience and it made the one time I went into petco a bad experience and honestly I dont know if Ill go back. Yes I love all the different reptiles you have, fish, and of course the ferrets, and small animals, but I dont want to be ignored as a customer.
We took our dogs, Dean (Golden Retriever) and Sam (Saint Bernard) to get bathed and groomed today. Shannon and her team are awesome! They took great care of our boys and they look great. You can tell that Shannon and her team are knowledgable and love what they do. The boys will definitely be back.
The girls in the grooming salon are very nice and have always been willing to help me decide what type of services (shampoos and hair cuts) would be best for my dogs. I have a lab and a border collie. They always leave smelling and looking wonderful. Prices are a little high in comparison to the salons near by but they have definately done a better job than any other place Ive taken my babies.
Pet box store, have most everything you need for your home friends. Pricey for a large discount store as if you shop, you can find better prices around, but they do price match if you know of a better price. However for a pet only store, they should have the best price but dont.
Love petco. Not a fan of the staff. Nobody is at the cash register. And grooming staff is plain rude. I have 3 dogs that I take for grooming and I get it. Three dogs at once isn’t the greatest thing ever but isn’t a petco employee supposed to love animals? Whether it’s one or three. The moment they picked up the phone for me to make the appointment, they were already annoyed. And when I got there with my dogs (who are sweet & get a little shy when they have to go in) i automatically feel that they are unloved. Makes me sad and I felt so bad leaving them with these people. I’ve gone to another petco that loves my dogs and makes them (and me) feel safe. Trust me, I’d rather drive a longer distance to a petco that enjoys having animals than this one.
HORRIBLE uninformed/uneducated customer service. I have come many times in the past and today was nothing like my past experiences. The lady that is always so helpful wasn’t there today and the two people working the entire store were not helpful. One claimed today was his first day or that he JUST started and doesn’t know anything. I wanted to know what kind of filter I needed for my tank and if someone could please give me a live plant. He didn’t know the filter question so I asked if he could grab me a plant and he responded with umm I’m new and idk how to do that but let me grab the gentleman “up there” (cashing someone out). The gentleman came over and said he couldn’t help me either. I asked if he could look it up on his little iPad thing they all usually carry around and he said his phone was dead and gave me this look of uninterested and rushed. Hire more staff and TRAIN them on what they need to know to work there. Horrible experience. I ended up leaving.Very unhappy.Ps. I was already very frustrated because I was waiting for over half an hour for somebody to come help me.Going to go get my stuff at petsmart
From the little plushies, to scented rubber bones, to pretty leashes and girly sweaters, to dental care, to collar decorations like bows and ties. Petco has everything your furry friend could dream of. Yummy meat twists, fancy grooming packages, super comfy and fluffy beds. Everything for your pet to unwind and relax! I know, I wish I was a dog right now, too.I absolutely loved the grooming packages for dogs. Yes, its great, but it comes with a con. PRICES. The prices were pretty high, but Im not saying pet care is cheap. It can be pricey. But Petco gave me great service, choices, quality, and satisfaction. I normally visit but,Petsmart but I might only go there for the medical center. I am so switching to Petco!
My wife and I stopped in to get some supplies for our two recently adopted puppies. As soon as we were in the dog section we were greeted by Rachel Pardue, a store employee. With her advice we picked out the right supplies and toys! Mrs. Pardue was excellent in both her suggestions and her customer service! We will be coming back for dog training lessons (God knows our puppies need it)!
Went in with my girl to get her some pet mice. After picking out the mice and telling the employee how excited we were to have them as pets she decides its a good idea to tell my girl how she feeds them to her snakes????? Are you joking me what level of incompetence does it take to say that kind of stuff to a girl taking home mice as pets. Needless to say it made her cry and makes me wonder how you could be so cruel/have such little common sense. Will never shop here again and make sure everyone I know goes to the other place down the road instead. I think the employee (Girl with dark curlyish hair and tattoos) needs serious lessons on customer relations and to keep her mouth shut with what she does on her own time.
Because of covid 19 service is slower than usual not as many employees available. I try to buy a rat and it take 20 minutes to get anyone to help me. It used to be where I can be in and out in 5 minutes. Also theyre always out of rats in 2 days they really could up the amount of rats in an order so more people can get them.
This review is only for the saltwater aquarium section of there store. If you are looking to buy any saltwater livestock from this store, STOP right now. This store has had multiple problems with there livestock. They have had an outbreak of ich in their aquariums that they are doing nothing about and when I lost an expensive clownfish due to the disease they have in their tanks they would not do anything to replace it or give me my money back. Their anemones are also almost all bleached and dying but they still continue to sell the bleached anemones to inexperienced buyers that have no clue of the difference. This section of the store is ridiculous and so is there customer service.If you are looking to buy saltwater products in the Cumming area do not buy from this store, instead there is a local reef store off of GA-400 exit 11 called Pure Reef. This store is amazing, they have a wonderful selection of livestock, great prices, and great customer service.
I like the groomers WHEN they actually show up. I have had early appointments and they are always late...today, granted I was there early, so went in, told no one was there (even though the door says they open at 8am!), say I will go wait in the car, 45 minutes later at my appointment time they are still not there. The Manager, Tiffany, tells me that she is sorry but the person is sick and they are trying to get someone else there. HELLO WHERE IS THE COMMON COURTESY to call me and tell me this as I am sitting in your parking lot as you KNEW I was doing. I have a job and a life and places to be, do not have time to waste waiting on your employees to show up for their job. Any professional company would have called me well in advance to tell me a groomer would not be there (you have my number in your system with my appt) so you could have saved me the trip and hassle. Then you should have ALSO offered to groom my dog for free or at a discount, just good practice to keep a repeat customer (I bring 4 dogs there!!) happy. Sorry to say you have probably lost this customer...I will go to my vet that I can depend on to show up on time. Itd be one thing if this were the first time, but its like the 4th time they are either late or do not show and I am tired of the excuses. Get it together PetCo Grooming in Cumming!
After picking up our 8 week old GSD, we went to this petco for a few things with no intention of checking out the training offered. While there the trainer, Amy, came over to love on our pup. She was extremely helpful with all things puppy and was very knowledgeable of the breed. She didnt push classes on us, but offered up the information on what was available. We agreed to check out puppy play time the following day and afterwards decided to go ahead and sign up for the Puppy 1 class. We have been with Amy for about 5 months now and it was the best decision we could have made for our pup. Amy is a top notch trainer with a wealth of knowledge and skill. I cannot say enough great things about Amy and the staff at this petco. If youre looking for a great trainer, check out Amy!
I dont like going into Petco (or PetsMart or Pet Supermarket.) The employees are always slightly curt and the store feels off kilter. I avoid going to the brick and mortar pet supply stores if possible. Even when I order online and pickup in store it is mildly unpleasant.
Worst service..I am a regular customer for this petco from 2 years and today i went there for my pets grooming and bath and waited for 10 mins..I told the associate that i was waiting for 10 minutes and ran the bell twice and she was so rude and she said i am on the back and i have job to do..I told her that I dont want to argue with you and left the store.i will never ever go to petco nor buy products from petco ever
So we got 2 parakeets a couple months ago and after a couple weeks we found out she couldnt fly. Why?, Petco trims parakeet wings so they dont fly around alot when they get them out. Guessing the 2nd one has been there so long that she grew hers back. We kept them in the cage until they got to know us and them brought them outside and found out they couldnt fly. I went to petco a couple weeks ago and say how all the other birds werent flying around but climbing on walls and if they fell they would flap there wings but land on the ground. Petsmart has a smaller cage but their birds are flying all over the place. If u have a bird that cant fly, if they jump off a high ledge their gonna die. Our bird now has fallen in the cage and got hurt many times so we keep him on a blanket outside, not on a perch like the other birds. Wherever petco brings its birds from, its a misrible place, we got another bird a couple weeks ago from there and she flew and bit me every time I brought food to her, the one from pet smart allowed me to perch her the first time and is cuddling with me every day after a couple of days. My advice, get a bird from petsmart I dont know about the other animals but petsmart is the place to go.
The absolute best place to get help..example just spent $289 at vet for dogs ear infection...2 months prior...went into petco ask salesperson for help there was a animal nutritionist there...she suggested a dog food grain free...3 weeks later no ear infection.....after visits to vet for 7 months with ear issues
I have to stop by here 5 and 6 days in a row just to get two feeder rats because nobody is ever working to help me. I have no idea how this business stays afloat but i will never go to another petco because all i do is stand around and watch customers. Its almost as if nobody even works here! Im surprised they havent been robbed!! You could totally just load up a cart and walk outta here and nobody would ever know!!!!
Everybody can see petco doesnt keep their animals health their main priority. If I were you Id stay away from buying animals and fish at their store as they have a high likelihood to be sick. I made the mistake of buying a betta fish there but he died after less than a week. For now on I just buy their supplies and animal food and you should do the same.
The way they keep their fish is disgusting. Every time is see the bettas sick or dying and they do nothing about it. The fish in the tanks have ick or a bacterial disease while the healthy fish get the sickness. The reptiles are taken care of horriblely as well. The poor leopard geckos live in sand! Disgrace, it makes them covered in dust and it impacts them which kills them. The bearded dragons have to eat sawdust when they eat their mealworms. Plus their rodents are terrified of the people that feed them. Disgusting

2022-06-26I took my goldendoodle Sugar there to get groomed by Leah, Sugar was very outgrown, hadn’t been brushed in a couple weeks, matted in some places and came out with the best grooming job she’s ever had! Highly recommend!!

2022-03-03Was very pleased by the service provided by Brittany. She was able to get my dog in on short notice and provided a very excellent service. She even topped off my dogs grooming appointment with a bumble bee bandanna! Definitely recommend her and will be coming back.

2022-06-02I self-identify as a German Shepherd, and the staff at Petco were so accomodating and kind and affirming of my truth. I came in looking for a certain kind of treats, and sniffed awhile around the dog food section, and they were so helpful. I will definitely come back!

2022-01-22Been to other Petco locations in the past (Both in Buford and Duluth); however this is the BEST location, in my opinion ! Employees are so nice, and store is always FANTASTICALLY stocked. Tonight was no exception ! The gentleman who checked me out (Larry) was so friendly !

2021-12-15I’ve been to this store in Buford ,Ga 3 or 4 times. The store is well stocked most of the time and store associates are fairly friendly but not always well informed. I found that coupons for Petco are sometimes not accepted which is frustrating. One positive is that Petco sells a brand of cat food that I use , for much less than other retailers and where sometimes I can’t even buy elsewhere. My suggestion is that customer service brush up on how they interact with customers both in store and on line

2021-09-26I went to the groomers there and the tech cut my dog and didn’t even tell me about it. Later she calls me to tell me that my dog is having a panic attack, Ofcourse he’s going too if you cut him and he’s scared after. Very unprofessional will not be returning there again.

2021-08-30Please DONT use their grooming services. My pet had a complete shave last month, got severe clipper burns. I visited next day, they provided an e collar for free and I bought an topical cream. Unfortunately its worsen, I had to go for a vet visit and end up with anti biotic cream and she suffered for a week. Today my pet took a grooming service, I asked to not use the deep clipper, but she got scratches on one side on the belly and other side completely ignored (see the pictures). Better chose some other place for grooming services at least.
