Petco in other cities:
This was my very first time taking my pet to get groomed here. I was made to feel very unwelcome. No one greeted me when I was there or when I came back to pick up my pet. The lady at the register was very rude and handed me my pet aggressively. I will never return here ever again. 0 stars.
Vet was super nice. All the people that worked the vet part were nice and informative. They dont do cats, bummer. They had the food thing to distract the animal when they get the shots. I got to be with my dog to help keep them calm. Ive been to some places that dont let you go back with them. So this was nice. The vet is only there two Saturdays a month. Thus why they dont have appointment times for other days. The grooming was great. I have two large fluffy, furry dogs. They got the basic bath and deshedding. The bath had the teeth brushing and nail clipping. Deshedding was an extra add on thing. For my two it took a total of 4 hours. The groomers were nice and had a great presence and calmness with the animals. For dogs to be groomed they only required up to date rabies shots. Which I was able to get thru their vetco vet.
I recently took my dog to get his nails cut, and when I got him back he was bleeding and missing a nail.(he now is limping and he refuses to eat) Their “explanation” was that he was alone and got himself stuck in the grate….my question is why was there no supervision, the second I leave my animal there it is their responsibility. NEVER AGAIN
So I called 30 mins before they closed, needing info on the thunder shirt for my Hound Dog. The young lady told me to take my time and get there and she would help Me when I got there. Do you know, she watched for Me n Blue-Girl (my hound dog) to come in, approached us immediately and then helped us try on the jacket, went through all the instructions with Me and told Me if it didnt help to bring it back. Now I got there 15mins before they closed and not once did I feel like they were in a hurry to get me out the door! They were so nice and so helpful, and answered all my crazy questions. Need less to say the thunder jacket worked, and I was so impressed with the care these folks took in helping Me and Blue-Girl survive the 4th of July.
Petco is a really good store for pet needs. They have a variety of items in all brands. The only drawback is that some of their prices are a little high. They could do a little better in that area. One drawback is the location. It is a horrible experience to get out of Mullins crossing in the late afternoon during traffic and the way the roads are fixed for getting out of there...but this isnt the fault of Petco.
An employee Michael gave us the best experience about our yellow belly turtle by being very informative about his reptile department. He was quick to answer our questions in a timely manner. Absolutely the best employee I have came across. Thank you so much and will be working with Michael again if we do decide to come back for another reptile.
Ive been bringing my doggos here for years. All of the stylists are friendly, knowledgeable and detail oriented. They know my furbabys quirks and funky spots as a bulldog. They are opening their vet hospital next month offering health/beauty discounts and amenities like unlimited teeth cleaning and nail trimming. Yes, please! Rolo is knocked out after his pampering at the spa. btw..he ❤s Jasmine L!
The store is nice and clean. I didn’t feel watched and I was able to find what I needed with no problems. The cashier may have been having a bad day; seemed a little down or annoyed. Overall, I had a good experience. I’ll definitely drive the extra miles to shop here again and again!!
A truly amazing dog training experience. I have never done anything like this before, but found myself very impressed and amazed at the things my puppy was able to learn. My trainer, Nicole, was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She demonstrated everything for me, explained the mechanics behind it, and supported me in my attempts to replicate her results. And, it worked! Her comprehensive approach really helped me better understand my dog, his needs, and how to improve the quality of life and play for both of us. I highly recommend this training with Nicole. The store also has a wide variety of pet supplies, treats, toys, and food. The staff is always so gracious and appears to genuinely take interest in my experience with the store every time I shop there. Top notch across the board.
Kept calling for 2 weeks to see if they had parakeets. They kept saying the breeders werent sending any. I know it wasnt the stores fault so Im still giving them a 4 for cleanliness and choices of supplies. Staff want very friendly. We wanted help/ suggestions for first time bird buyers. All she wanted to do was catch the bird and go away.
This is the only place in town that sold ferrets! I bought my boy from here last year. Havent seen any in the store since, but I was told that they sell fast.I buy all of my ferret essentials here. Love that you can match online prices with instore prices with no problem.
So I moved across the country, the petcos in california are pretty awful so I always shopped petsmart. But boy oh boy when I went to this petco it changed my view, the animals are healthy and happy, the workers always help me with information, you can even here the care in their voice about the animals. I even have met the manager at my old job at circle k! He really cares about his store and it shows!
Great experience! I took my new Labrador puppy Leo into the store to purchase a harness. A female employee escorted us to a booth, game him toys and treats and assisted with finding him the perfect harness to fit him. Very professional and caring employees! Love this place ❤!
I’m a 15 year old that has been doing fish for 3 years and recently purchased fish and came home put everything in my fish tank correctly next day 3/10 fish died from ick, and left the other fish with ick. One by one they all died. This makes me want to stop my hole fish experience and $100 wasted. DO NOT RECOMMEND BY THEIR FISH!
I have never been impressed with their pricing, but the selection of food and goods are vast. That said, they have a fantastic grooming service that I have used for years and they are expanding their service to include a larger grooming system and a larger veterinary service.I will continue to be a customer for the foreseeable future.
I was not planning on going to the store to pick up my items, but if they were in stock I had no choice. However, I just inherited a little chihuahua mix from my Aunt that pasted away and she is always cold, the chihuahua, not my Aunt. One of the items I wanted was a jacket for her. The website would only let me have it shipped, and pay S/H for a $9.99 jacket, but when I was in the store the exact item was in stock, at full price.
Time permitting I ALWAYS take my fosters to this Petco for grooming. The groomers here are so incredibly patient, kind, and understanding. I brought my newest foster, a mixed fluffy guy named Grizz, in today. He is afraid of everything and even with medication still incredibly anxious. The groomers were super sweet, understanding, and patient with him. The werent at all annoyed that he had to be coaxed, and then carried to the back. When they were worried about how much stress the dryer was causing, so they found a work around to still dry him after his bath. He went from a dandruff and poop smelling mess, to a super soft, fluffy, and amazing smelling teddy bear. Anxiety permitting, I will bring him back for a haircut and shedding treatment, but I didnt want to add even more to his, or the groomers plates today.I am so appreciative of all the hard work and patience yall have for every dog that comes in.I will continue bringing my own dogs, and all my fosters to this grooming salon for as long as Im in the area.
My partner and I were a bit overwhelmed with all the options for cat food but an employee was extremely helpful in guiding us towards the right fit for us. She answered all of our questions and was very friendly. She also guided us to the clearance section where we got a great deal on wet food to treat our fur babies!
I was shopping for harness’s, but they didn’t have the sizes I needed, so I was told to order on line. I had a 25% coupon that would only let me get 1 of the items I wanted, so I had to buy items I didn’t need to reach the minimum amt, less 2 of the harness I wanted and it had to be picked up. On top of this, the website kicked my items out of the “cart” 3 times. But worst of all, I found a dead chameleon in its water bowl, that was dry as a bone. He was shriveled up like he’d been dead for awhile. I know it’s policy to check the animals hourly, so someone wasn’t doing their job. There were other chameleons in the tank so I let an employee know. Hopefully, they took him out and gave the others a fresh bowl of water.
Been here a few times and the people working there are friendly. But it is still a Petco and there are times I am a little concerned for the reptiles. If you want a reptile it is always best to get them from a reputable breeder, franchises arent exactly looking for quality over quantity.
We especially love their biscuits and vigilant approach to the virus right now by keeping their dining room closed and efficiently operating their drive-thru so we can safely continue to receive their yummy food. At our recent visit to pickup an order we did find a window server with her mask down below her mouth, though. Before receiving the bag, she properly adjusted her mask (after I asked her to), handed us our order and sent us on our way. We will return again soon.
We came one evening due to fish dying. Justin took his time to help us find the right products and answer all the questions that we had about caring for fish and taking care of an aquarium. Then when we went to check out with Brittney as our cashier, she her time to get us straight for the return items and helped us with our price match items. Both of these employees should be recognized for the great customer care and patience they had with there helping hands
I brought my golden retriever in to be groomed and bathed. Stood in line until 12:20 for my 12PM appointment. They pulled out a hair chart and told me this is what they normally do for golden retrievers. He comes out with less than 1/4 inch of hair, shaking, and appears to have his package nicked by a razor. Goldens should never be shaved, especially not this bare.
Most of the time, I really enjoy shopping here. Today, I was working with one cashier and he was doing just fine. He asked about a product because he could not find it and was immediately replaced with another cashier. She was rude, grabbed the boxes we brought to the counter and threw them into another basket saying they were suppose to be on the floor. Mind you, they were boxes for product that is held behind the registers. One of which he was asking about because he did not see it. She continued to be rude and snappy throughout the transaction. I would have preferred working with the other cashier. There was no need for her to take over because he did not see a product that they were apparently out of. I will think twice about going into the store if I see her there again. I would rather drive the extra miles to another pet store than deal with that again.
The guy who helped me was very friendly and helpful. My puppy had an accident on the floor and he helped clean it and then went to throw the bag away. He came back with a coupon book and a treat bag for my puppy and an extra treat. The place had a great and welcoming atmosphere.
They give out false information and its been like that for years, did you know that most reptiles need to be kept in separate enclosures while they have over 10 lizards in one enclosure. The only thing I honestly like about this store is there prices arent as high as some other pet stores but even the prices are a bit overdone. Its hard because I want to have a giant family of reptiles but these things can just be so expensive. And I know someones going to say oh the info is so true they are trained to know what to say. Well news flash they are incorrect on over 70% of there information. :) if this was actually read then thank you...!
We found what we needed in stock with very little effort. Because PETCO offers price matching with its competitors, we saved about $40 on flea medicine we needed for our large breed dog. The cashier was very friendly and helped us get the lowest price possible for the items we purchased. It seems like they could use at least a few more employees there. Im rating 3 stars because the wait for the cashier is usually lengthy and the grooming salons services are over priced and they rarely answer the phone, but we do visit this location frequently and will keep going back.
I went into your local store to purchase a few items for my aquariums, and was able to find and purchase them. However, I do have some concerns in regards to the health of the fish in the aquariums. There were too many dead fish, in with the live fish. More frequent maintenance and care is needed.
Petco has been one of my first stop locations for basic pet supplies. They have updated their store arrangements, and adding Vetco (veterinarian services). People complain about the prices, but their reward points are awesome.Every $100 you spend you can get from $5-$10 coupons, and stack the coupons.
On my very first visit we enjoyed the patience in answering all of our New Parent questions for our adopted senior doggie. Thankful for suggestions and option to bring something back if it doesnt work for our newest baby.Ordering online and picking up was also something I tried recently and that was a breeze. My order was ready and I was in and out! Very convenient when you just get off work and have to hurry home to start dinner.
Earlier today my wife and daughter were in the store to purchase pet supplies. As they were browsing an older white lady with short brown hair approached my daughter and said EXCUSE YOU... I can only assume this employee thought she was alone. They left immediately afterwards.Im not sure if thats how associates are trained to speak to customers but I can assure you that will be the LAST time that anyone at this location will have our business. We have pets but will not support down right nasty attitudes in any business. Do not speak to customers in that tone they pay your wages.
Amazing, friendly, and helpful staff. I bought a red tail about 4 months ago and called multiple times because she never took food on her own. I was told to just soak her, and whoever I spoke with was quite brash about the whole situation. She just passed away last night, and is at the vet for an autopsy. I’ll be going in for my money back or a new snake that will be in the best health possible. This experience has left me quite upset, and I really wish Petco used a different, more reliable breeder. It’s heartbreaking seeing the affect that poor breeding and housing can do to such a small and innocent animal.
Bought two aquariums from your Evans, GA store. The price I saw on your website said $18 plus change and the one in the store was $24 and change. Basically, your store clerk told me to prove it by showing YOUR website to her. NOT MY JOB TO DO THAT. She shouldve done that, but she was too busy chatting with her coworkers. Not the first time this has happened.
A lot of the employees here will reach out to you with a friendly attitude, provide amazing tips and tricks to improve the quality of your pets life, and take I take interest in you as a person. This store has several people that have exotic species in their homes, which helps them provide relevant information to the cost, care, and what to watch out for in those species. Hands down the best pet store Ive ever been in
Becca was a great help. Her customer service skills are impeccable. I went to every pet supply store in the area. I called Petco and spoke with her on the phone. She answered all of my questions and when I got to the store, she walked around and showed me different products and answered questions about them. I will most definitely be going back.
Took my Yorkie in for a bath and haircut. After receiving a phone call telling me she was ready to be picked up, I walked into Petco and a man, not a Petco employee, was holding my dog. I began telling the man his dog looked exactly like mine, he then began to tell me that’s “she’s not mine and they [Petco employee] just gave her to me”. About 5 minutes later, a Petco employee walked out and asked what was wrong. Needless to say I was not happy and I will NEVER take my dog back there.
The staff is really welcoming, friendly, and helpful. This store NEVER smells like pets unlike their competitor (Petsmart, which smells terrible). This store is clean and well organized. I’ve never had an issue in here. When I can’t find what I need in a general store, this is my go to for my pets needs!
Pretty good, except for the people that follow you around the store like you are going to steal something. I mean, why are you all doing that to your customers? I rather enjoyed walking down clean aisles, and the cashiers are so friendly and helpful. I was so happy to have shopped there. Double-tapping here, SOME people will stop visiting your establishment if you dont stop tracking their every movement through the store. Not all of a certain racial group steals ya know. Just trying to help, but great work.
Upon entering the store I saw an associate name Zack (I think that was his name) walking towards the door. I asked him was he off the clock and he said yes how can I help you? I told him he didnt have to help me if he was off and he said he didnt mind. He assisted me for about 5 minutes helping me find dog shampoo. I told him this was an great example of excellent customer service. I told him I would leave him a review for management to see. I also spoke to Micheal in the fish department. He noticed my dog was panting and asked if it was ok for her to have a drink of water. He got a bowl of water and gave it to my dog. I am so trilled that this place has so many people that cares about animals. The young lady at the front register named Chelsea was very helpful as well. This is such a great location!!!
Always love visiting Petco. This location has a dog groomer and Gourmet dog treats. The staff is always super friendly and super helpful. Most of the time if they are not busy and you have a small child they will pull out any animal that your child would like to see and let them hold it. Even if you arent interested in buying it. Prices are about the same as everywhere else, and usually Friday or Saturday they have pet adoptions, and work with local rescue and shelters.
I only come here for dog food usually which they are always in stock on but im also an avid fish hobbyist. When it comes to that area i am not impressed. Every time i go there i see many dead fish rotting in the tanks which is really concerning and a good selection of fish are usualy worse for wear. Also last time the 50% tank sale came up i thought, why not get a 75? Every tank either had cracks in the glass or super shotty silicone work, ive mentioned the damaged tanks multiple times but it seems they dont even check them. I have no other problems with the store and will continue to buy my dog food and treats there but it would be nice to see an improvement in the fish division. The staff is also always great and friendly.
So i had a dying betta named Ocean. I came in an this guy i believe it was Justin had recommended me so much stuff (I soon found out they were much better and cheaper than my initial items) because they were out of bettafix. I then found out i was about 5 dollars off and he paid for the rest and hoped my fish got well. He also showed me some smaller food for one of the guppy betta i just purchased (His name is dumbo because he is an elephant ear male). He was very nice and understood the illness well. He knew a lot and the staff were very nice.
I have been a long time Petco customer but after the trip I had I will never go back. Nicole was extremely rude and was trying to tell me how to control my dog. FYI Nicole my dog is a rescue and I was bringing her in so I can get her used to people, noise and other animals. Yes she was skiddish. And NO I dont need your help with her. If I were to have her trained by anyone at that place it would be Eric not Nicole. The way she speaks to customers and acted towards my dog is unacceptable and when I told her that I did not appreciate her speaking down to me as if I did not care about my dog she simply did a half grin smile and looked down and walked away. NICOLE NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!!
Petco sells pet products and services, as well as certain types of live animals. Petco sells and fish, reptiles, small birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, and mice for adoption. Pet services include grooming and dog training.Interesting fact, the company was founded in 1965 as a mail-order business selling veterinary supplies. The company also owns the naming rights to the Petco Park baseball stadium, which is home of the San Diego Padres. This is a great place to purchase supplies to feed your reptiles. They have a large variety of frozen rodents to feed those wonderful danger noodles snakes. I usually stop in and get some frozen rats for my buddy Achilles, or some treats for my special dog Freya. So stop in Petco and buy a fish for your aquarium or other supplies for that special pet you have.
I took my dog here for grooming and when I got her back the hair around her face had been cut really short. The groomers obviously dont understand breed standards or care to ask or listen for what the customer wants. The grooming staff can be observed from the retail area goofing off and eating or grooming themselves. Had I see that behavior before taking my dog I never would have trusted them with my dog.The store area has a good selection of pet toys and food.
Dont take your dog here. I wasnt going to post anything publicly but... Its been two weeks and the cuts on my dogs ears are still bleeding. They took too long (4 hours) my dog came home and was exhausted and just wanted to sleep which leads me to beleive he wasnt treated nicely while there. He had cuts on his ears as mentioned above as well as in his private area and his back left foot. When I posted the private review and spoke with the the groomer. She insisted that they were just trimmer scraps but scraps dont bleed. Id give them zero stars if I could. Avoid at all costs.
Absolutely awful place. Reptiles are kept in poor conditions. 18 leopard geckos in one tank. Three extremely malnourished ball pythons in the same tanks. Many of the reptiles are not kept in the conditions that are meant for them. When I asked an employee about the ball pythons he couldnt tell me which ones had eaten and which ones hadn’t. Also had no idea of their age or where they came from. All of this is completely avoidable and there is no reason a major pet store chain cannot properly house and care for these animals. A complaint has already been made to corporate.
The store is always clean and the shelves are always stocked. The dog leash and toy aisles are always a bit messy, but that’s because of inconsiderate customers, not the staff. The whole hearted brand of food has been absolutely great and every WH product my dog has tried, he has loved. All the foods from WH are easy for him to digest. I highly recommend their brand of you have a picky eater and are worried about what your dog eats.
They instituted a no in store returns policy, allegedly due to covid. Of course when I checked out with my item the cashier said nothing about this. I think they did this after the first of the year and I wasnt very happy about it.In any event they lifted the ban on returns as of I believe March 1st.
I go to this Petco a lot, because, having a Guinea pig, we often need a lot of things. The customer service is normally pretty good, but they could improve by having more items farther than dog toys. I know that they only have what the company provides, but they seem to not often have all the items in stock and they are out of things a lot, at least in the small animal section they are.
Michael was in the fish section when I was browsing the aquarium/terrariums for our hamsters. He helped me find a tank on sale and a water bottle solution. He made sure it fit before I paid (new small pet owner!) and that I could set the other one by myself. He also carried it to my car for me. I was so pleased and grateful for this high level of service. Weve never had a poor experience here. Sometimes things are out of stock, but they cant help what corporate sends. Online returns are smooth too. Id recommend pet supply shopping here. Thank you again to Michael for going above and beyond.
Yesterday my car would not start and I cant hear on a cell phone. I went in to the grooming salon as they had a landline and I was going to call AAA. A young woman named Mallory said she had a break between appointments and she would come out and charge my battery. She really went out of her way to help me and it allowed me to drive to my mechanic to get a new battery. I take my dog here to get groomed and they have always been helpful and friendly and do a great job. Thanks to Mallory for helping me out yesterday!
If I could give them 0 stars I would. Total joke there online customer service is HORRIBLE! I ordered a tank that said was in stock however I got an email that said it wasn’t so when I called to transfer my order to another store since I had already paid they argued with me that I never paid! After I confirmed with my bank she then told me to tell my bank they were lying. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! Never doing business with them ever again
This review is for the pet food delivery service. See photo of the product I received, completely dented cans of food. Not just small dents but extremely damaged.I have never received pet food like that from Chewy or Amazon. I tried Petco because they had a promotion but I will be cancelling this service.I now have to go to the store and exchange these. I do not recommend this service for canned food.Thank you.
Absolutely awful. I brought my maltipoo in for grooming, they CLAIMED he had lots of mats and had to shave him. The charged me $55.00 to SHAVE my dog. I do know he had some mats around his back and collar area, but that was totally unnecessary!!! NEVER will I shop this store again!!!!
This place cannot keep feeder rats in stock. They only get them in on Wednesdays and they are all gone within an hour or two. It has been like this for at least 6 months. Even more ironically they sell snakes and animals that require the feeders they cannot keep in stock. Also when they get a shipment in it is like less than 10 rats. Its not that people are buying excessive amounts of feeder rats here, the problem is that they are obviously not ordering enough feeder rats to support the people they are selling these animals to. This is the only place in Augusta I know of that sells feeder rats, this is ridiculous.
Pretty decent. Not a huge variety of each animal(mostly lack in reptiles), but they have an okay selection of fish, and rodents. The animals normally seem well taken care of but there are few occasions where the animals are lacking on water, or proper tank care(like when a fish dies and its just left with the other fish.)
Chelsie is the very BEST. Bella doesnt mind going to see her. She really pays attention to detail. She knew she was terrified and she took the time to make friends with her first. Thats the biggest reason she is Bellas regular groomer now. We cant forget-Bella always looks like a $1,000,000 after she grooms her. Thank you!
For those of you who are looking for saltwater fish like I am, I know a lot of people say not to get your saltwater fish from Petco, but this location is very clean and the employees are very educated on caring for marine animals. The prices are significantly lower than places like LiveAquaria and saltwaterfish.com and they typically have a variety of animals to choose from, many of which are captive bred (including several color variations of clownfish, Banggai and pajama cardinalfish, and orchid dottybacks). The freshwater fish section is also very clean and well taken care of. Overall, this location takes very good care of their fish and other animals that live underwater and their prices are very good. Highly recommend!
Kind of disgusted; on the outside a dog had pooped and no one had cleaned it up. It is now flattened into the pavement to be tracked into the store or into a car. Would have been more upset if I had a small child who didnt see it to avoid it. Shame on the dog owner for not cleaning it up immediately, but now its Petcos responsibility. Also, the employees taking a smoke break & creating a haze to walk through upon exiting really defeated the purpose of no- smoking in store.Had I noticed either, I would have deferred my shopping today.
Petco always has amazing staff, they are always very friendly and full of information. The negative side is that all the reptile tanks are filthy and left with feces in the tanks. none of the reptiles look healthy and its quit sad. Also prices are way to much. I have been to another pet store in my town and they have wonderful prices. Its disappointing to walk in and see high prices and unhealthy animals/reptiles. Someone needs to clean the store and update the computers
Always loved Petco over most pet stores. They have a puppy meetup on Saturdays which is great to train your dog and get them socialized. Also they price match everything on their online store where most items are substantially cheaper. Ive found quite a few items more than 50% off. Their prices are hard to beat
These people really care about animals! I found a newborn abandoned kitten n brought her in to find a bottle n formula to feed her. They were all so helpful, they showed me exactly what I needed n told me how to do it. They gave me some cat rescue numbers before I left.
I like Petco and Petsmart, they have lots of pet supplies however, I own ball pythons and the enclosures they keep them in are not appropriate for the safety of young ball pythons sometimes. Its usually the humidity that is off, and they tend to use apen bedding which is known to dry out and not hold proper humidity for the length of time it should. Cypress should be used. Ball pythons need two hides not one open ended hide which is almost always what is used (log half) to feel secure. Please fix these issues so I can rate you 5 stars. Ive seen some pythons with nothing but Aspen sub one open ended hide and a water dish. Humidity has to be right or young ball pythons are prone to respiratory infections which are a pain once theyre started and can be deadly if not maintained with supplements to boost their immune response. Thank you!
I don’t know what Shay Johns is talking about! I love this PetCo! The employees are always so friendly and kind. Lots of knowledge and very helpful. I had a reptile myself die, unfortunately, and they were more than welcome to help me. Now, I did bring it back WITHIN the 30 days. It says so on the form that you sign AND they’ll even take it to the vet for you if the animal is sick or not feeling well. This PetCo is just the best, case closed.
As a reptile breeder, I find they usually have a decent selection of frozen rodents for feeders but not for live feeders. The rats/mice they sell seem to be mainly for pets which is ok but they only sell males so I cant purchase pairs for breeding, also unfortunate. Will continue to buy from this Petco because the Petsmart in Augusta is garbage! Your best bet is this Petco for your pets needs!
The person who helped us didnt seem too excited to help us.. but whatever, Im sure she was just ready to head home in 2 hours. Was helpful helping us pick out a cage and what not for our new hamster babies. But when I asked her if it was okay for the two to live in one cage she told me of course, thats why theyre together now in a matter of fact tone. Im sorry, but just because they live in the pet store together doesnt mean theyll get along once we are home. I found that out a couple times with different critters, when we were told they would get along fine.
The grooming was awful, but the groomers are nice!!! Worst hair cut my dog has ever received. She will need to be shaved and have her hair grow back properly. I just went to the vet and after being groomed here twice, and she has 2 cracked teeth. How do you do an inspection of the dog and get paid to brush her teeth and miss cracked or broken teeth? I also asked them to do a few things they said they did, but I know wasnt done. I will never come back. I had to give 1 star to post this review, but I wouldnt have even giving that.
Michael helped us greatly with handling the reptiles. A friend of mine was curious about adopting bearded dragons, and the handler was happy to let her handle one. He was very informative about what was required to care for the various reptiles she was interested in, including their level of care needed and what to expect from owning them. We were very satisfied by his knowledge on the topic, and because of this we intend to return to this specific store for future adoption.
This is why I wont buy a fish from Petco. I came I to look at the fish supplies and found two dead bettas sitting in their containers. I told the cashiers about the fish. I know fish can get stressed easily and die, but it goes beyond that when one of the fish looks like has been rotting for a couple of weeks. I cant trust a place that doesnt keep an eye on their fish, cause how would I know what I was getting is healthy?*Update*If you bought a fish from Petco and it dies, you can return it with your receipt or get store credit.
Dr. Andrea Morris did shots for my dogs at VIP Pet Care. VIP pet care like a vet office is extremely expensive when it comes to buying heartguard for your pet however you can buy it through PetCo for 1/4 th the price literally. Thinking this would be difficult I called Petco before going there to visit with Dr. Morris and have her do the shots just to verify that she would approve the blood work she did on my dogs and that they could order Heartguard. I didnt want to order it from her or from VIP Petcare because of the HUGE overprice and difference for the same product! After VIP petcare canceling my order through Petco twice I was asked for the Vets name. I found her and gave them her number to their office. They canceled my order because I wasnt seen at that vet office. The receptionist was very rude to me. I asked her if there was anyway I could speak to Dr. Morris. She said no she didnt want to talk to me and I could call VIP Petcare. No help whatsoever. Im not sure if thats the kind of vet you want to visit but I want one that actually cares about their customers and I was literally treated like I didnt matter. I spent almost $300 on three pets to get their shots from you just so they could get heart guard and after you treated them you wouldnt even help me get them the medication they needed. Save yourself some time and go somewhere else. The automated system I spent over an hour on every time I called. I had to call 4 times and replace my order bc they didnt know what VIP Petcare was or who to call. Its like, Really people! Its at Petco a service you provide in your stores and you cant figure this out. I could have gave them all the information they needed but it was talking in circles to these people that cannot speak English. Its like go back to your country or hire someone that can actually help their customers!!! So frustrating!!!!
So today I started out at pet smart to see what I needed to help clip my bunnies nails, after having no help there I drove to Petco and started to talk to one of the groomers there . This lady was so super friendly and helped me out so much and even though she was about to leave she stayed so that I could run home grab my bunny and bring her back so she could show me how to properly cut my bunnies nails ! She was amazing and seriously dont know how I would have gotten through it without her help !
Poor staffing, good customer service. I guess I’d be bitter to if I was in my 50 something’s working a dead end job. It’s cool tho, I don’t mind going to pet smart. At least the people are less ornery and rude over their. Who insults the customer at the register? Apparently Petco.
The groomers here are so wonderful. Our dog tends to be very nervous but we know that her regular groomer, Jahna (sorry if spelling is wrong!), takes great care of her. She always says the sweetest things about our pup and remembers us when we come in each time. Highly recommend the grooming department here (especially Jahna!!)!
The grooming staff would get five stars. Customer service otherwise is unacceptable. Our dog was terrified and long story short she had an accident on the grooming tech. My husband felt bad and wanted to give her a tip but needed change so at the register he asked if they could change for him. The cashier was insulting and another cashier got a manager who said nothing, acted insulted and gave him the change. This money was tip his own employee in the grooming area. Groomers - nice he was so inconvenienced and coud care less in support of you. With three pets, we spend a lot of money here but we won’t anymore. There are other options besides this store.
I brought my 7 month old Pomeranian to get her nails clipped and rounded as well as a full flea and tick treatment for we live near the woods and she loves grass. They returned her to us clean and conditioned but her nails weren’t rounded so she scratches even with very little pressure. She had cute little bows on her hair that left her hair matted and tangle. Now we have to cut a chunk of fur out from behind her ear. Besides that, everything else was swell.
There was a worker there named Anna that treated us poorly. My little brother wanted to buy one little fish. We picked a good size tank for one fish, a bag of rocks, and some decor for the tank and he was going to buy it all with his own money. It took us 30 mins just to get an accosiate to help us. She said that our tank was too small which the tank was not at all for one fish and if we were to get a bigger tank it would be about 50+ dollars. Last time we were there to get a fish she said the same thing. So we wanted to get a hermit crab but again she was talking about how the tank was too small but for one crab the tank was more than enough room. We didnt listen to her though and still got the hermit crab. But, this time the way that she treated us we left and went to Walmart which gave us a lot more helpful advice on the right size tank and everything. I still love the store but not the workers so much. Please work on getting better ones.
Went to buy our daughter a red ear slider turtle at the Augusta location for her Birthday. Her 40 gal tank at home was prepared & ready for her new friend. The girl that assisted us at Petco was the friendliest, nicest, most imformative, help weve experienced in a while. She even knew what to look for in deciding the gender of the turtle, because our daughter wanted a male so she could name it Raphael, after the TMNT Ninja🐢s, how cool is that. Our daughter is extremely 😀happy😃 as well as mom& dad👌❗
I was very disappointed with my visit today, I took my dog who is like a child to me to get a regular shampoo and grooming and not only did they take an hour longer than they said they would. They told me that she “jumped” while on the grooming table and cut her back paws to the point where they had to bandage her and put medicine on the cut. She is naturally a very timid dog because she was rescued and was living in poor conditions when we found her. So we are very upset that she is now afraid of petco to go get groomed. The petco staff was very understanding and did not charge me for her visit. I am just very disappointed that she is now afraid of the groomers.
Takes pretty good care of their animals, place always seems clean, can always price match with online, just the associates tend to not always be the most knowledgeable about all their animals and their needs... and they sell calci sand - one of the worst products in existence for reptiles.

2022-03-01Not only are they entirely knowledgeable about animals but the associates are the best! Zoey is always prepared with crickets for my bearded dragon and always in a good mood. Ive been to this location at least ten times in the past month and have never encountered an associate who wasnt polite and happy to help.

2022-04-25My Petco is very supportive and caring when it comes to my fur pal Buddy. The store is clean and the employees are knowledgeable. There are supply issues but that’s everyone right now. The location is easy and accessible as well being open when most needed. The Vets and groomers are pretty cool too. Highly recommended!

2021-09-03Had a wonderful experience here with Carrie in grooming! She handled my 4 month old puppy perfectly. I was so nervous because the past grooming he had we didn’t great reports from, (he nips a lot) and not great results either. I didn’t expect a perfect haircut because he can be squirmy and likes to nip, but wow she exceeded my expectations! Will definitely return and recommend her.

2022-06-08If you have and questions… ask for Micheal. Not saying no one else is helpful but he is the associate I dealt with the most and he went above and beyond to help my son and I out. The cashier was also very nice and had a smile on her face. Seemed they were very happy with their job.

2022-07-03I love this establishment. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. They also offer a Vital care plan that is unheard of. I have 3 dogs and would not be able to properly care for them without their plan. Check them out!!!

2022-02-15They seem to be pretty decently stocked on most items. I specifically have a guinea pig and tend to have a hard time finding places that have our needs in stock. Most of the time this Petco has what I need.Biggest downfall for me is that their reward system is less than PetSmart.

2022-03-17Renee in the pet wellness department is amazing! I never felt pressured or rushed during our phone call. What I did feel was care and compassion for all things animal. A great ambassador for Petco!

2022-05-27Not too busy here when I patronized. They had what I wanted which were the Himalayan chews. Those things last a long time. The store was clean and the cashier was pleasant.

2022-05-11My wife was in to pick up some mice and a couple other items, she spoke with an employee who told her the mice had just come in and give them 20 minutes, 45 minutes later she found another employee and asked about the mice, and then was finally told they didn’t get any mice! It should not have taken 45 minutes to inform a customer that an item wasn’t in stock! Worst customer service experience. If I could give negative stars I would.

2022-04-25The store was a complete mess. I had to move carts full of product and weave around piles of overstock to find the products I needed. The workers were not warm and friendly. I also overheard them complaining about the management at the store being unhelpful and unwilling to fix issues. Will only be back for the vet services (which were a total delight!)
