The staff was extremely friendly and the prices are unbeatable. My only issue with this theater is that the screen was kind of blurry. Maybe it was the seat I was in (at the very back on the right side), but I couldnt read a lot of the words on screen during my movie. Overall, its a good theater for the price. You arent going to beat $1 movies!
The theater is trying...The seats have been refurbished nicely - now recline decently. Enough space between rows. The tickets and food is priced wonderfully, so one does not have to rob a bank to take a family out to a movie night. About half what one would spend at other places.About 5 theaters total. Nice cozy feel.Tickets are less than $9 for adults; Tuesdays are half price. Seating is reserved although buying in advance is about $2 per seat extra.Food is cheaper than big theaters. $14 for a med popcorn and 2 drinks (make your coke machines).Picture quality is great. Audio is okayish (Dolby stuff at other places is significantly better).Big issue is restrooms.Come on , new owners: One could probably spend less than $50k on the restrooms and make it an awesome overall experience..
Great movie prices especially Tuesday. $4.00 dollar all day Tuesday cant beat it. Usually $8.00 after 12 noon rest of week. All staff great, extremely clean environment, and you cant beat a dollar hot dog. Good movie selection for adults and children. Come and try it out you wont be disappointed!
I’m not usually inclined to leave reviews, especially at theaters, but I was really blown away by this place. Me and my girlfriend came here on a Monday night and it was the first time we had been since the remodel.I was expecting it to be nicer, but WOW. The movie screens were great, theater was clean, staff was friendly, and they have leather reclining seats, which is all tough to beat already but when you combine that with $8 tickets, it’s unbeatable. We will be back soon and often!
Great place to catch a flick for $2. Decent size theaters and not crowded. Seats didnt seem too uncomfortable as stated in other reviews. There is a basement kind of smell to the theaters. Make sure you use the restroom before you come here. The bathrooms here are more frightening than a stephen king movie.
I just saw Free Guy tonight, great movie, the best part is The Picture Show has been remodeled. They serve hot food reminecent of movie theaters of the past. They also have a loyalty program as well, and their pricing is very affordable. The reclining seats are very comfortable. A win win, you must go now.
Love that there is an inexpensive option for families and love the dollar movie days on Monday and Wednesday mornings. However, the theater cleanliness isnt the best. The bathrooms are always pretty dirty, even first thing in the morning when you would expect them to be the cleanest. Makes me nervous about how well the theaters are cleaned between shows. Outside of this, the staff is nice and we did enjoy the reclining seats. Looking forward, if they did a better job on cleaning, we would for sure become regulars.
Been here before and this theater was decent for the price. NOW, it seems its gone DOWN HILL. Quality, movie operations and just plain nastiness inside the theaters. Had to up update on different occasions. Will continue to up date for the public. Please read below:Initially gave one star!!!Update Dec. 23 2018:Went with the guys before Christmas to see Robin Hood. This place does need some major restoration inside. But, the low point was watching the movie and the sound cuts off in the middle of the action at the height of the movie for almost 5 Minutes!!!People were clearly upset and yelling about the sound. It was funny to us but also very annoying. Not sure if we will come back to watch a movie here again. Yes the price and candy etc.. is cheaper here. BUT QUALITY shoulnt have to be sacraficed!!!Update: Dec 26th 2018,Ok, took the kids to see small foot just two days from seeing Robin Hood with a friend (bad review as well)Talk about an EMBARRASSING MOMENT brought the family to this theater to see Small Foot and every other row had BIG TEARS in the bottom of the seats!! People were literally advoiding those rows. Cant blame them!! Then in the middle of the movie the HOUSE LIGHTS came ON for 4 minutes! SMDH SAD!!This place is an Embarrassment to the East Cobb/Marietta area. The floors were filthy, sticky and smelled as we walked several rows to find five decent seats. Yes, the price to come see a movie here is only $2. But, sacraficing quality business operations and delivering a sound product really speaks volumes to your customers!! This is the WORST THEATER OPERATIONS in the Atlanta area bar none. Just nasty and filthy. As a combat veteran and someone with corporate software experience, I am appalled at the operations this management team runs this theater. Either, assess your operations and FIX IT!! Or bring someone IN that will lead and run this place professionally!! If you need to charge $5 bucks then do it and restore the seat coverings and hire extra staff to monitor. If people are vandalizing theater property. Hire Cobb police like other theaters do! This is an embarrassing theater to say the least. If you need a real operations and management executive respond back. True believer in Action!!!! This community deserves better!!UPDATE: Apr 17 2022Its been a minute since my long review of this theater. Looks like they made some serious changes for the better and the staff is very attentive. The restoration of this theater is waaayyyy better as well. New seats vs the old torn seats that would stick you through your clothes. Overall a really better experience and budget friendly.I will upgrade my stars.Highly recommend to go back and see your movies here.
The seats are not that great, but the theatre was clean and no sticky floors. The bathroom was clean, but only one out of three sinks was working. I always get the large popcorn and large soda combo, its the best deal for the money. Its worth the ten dollars for a 5 star movie. ($2 for the movie, around $8 for the popcorn and soda). I go during the day time, so the night experience may be a little different.
My son and I offer come to this theater. Its cheap to get in the popcorn is pretty fresh. I like having a chance to see movie that I miss at the big box theaters. I wish the seat were a little more comfortable but for a couple of bucks to get in, Ill take the seat. The staff is always very nice. this place is a two thumbs up.
I gave it a 4star rating only because the street signage is horrible. Its not visible on the road, so I passed right by the theatre. After finding it and parking, I was happy with my visit. The prices of popcorn combos are pretty decent, hot dogs are $1, my total for a ticket and food was $8.The seating does show severe wear and tear over the years of use, but the staff does what they need to do to keep the theatres as clean as possible.I will definitely return to watch more movies.
All these reviews are old before they stopped being a discount theatre. Please write reviews for new theatre that is no longer inexpensive (almost as much as other theatres). I know the seats were not the best, however I will miss being able to take my children to the theatre and not spend so much. That was the main appeal, with these new prices they are almost like every other theatre now. I enjoyed while it lasted!
Great prices on tickets and snacks! $1 hotdog for the win! My husband and I have found a new favorite! We LOVE going to the movies, but its usually so expensive. Some seats were in a bit of rough condition, but other than that it was perfect! Will definitely be going again soon.
Ive come here since I was a little girl and now Im older and bringing my family. Such a good price for a family movie day. The seats are a little torn up and dated but the prices make up for it. There are some cute coin games in the front of the building where you purchase tickets which happens to be the concessions area. Overall, you cant beat paying $2 a person for a day out for the family.
Updated Nov 2018:Still a great place to visit. It could really benefit from an update especially the chairs, but I think people understand that its a small business offering families an opportunity to go to the movies at a very, very affordable price along with cheap confessions.I think the community should organize a fundraiser to begin updating it. The $2 tickets arent doing to do it alone at all.----------This is one of our favorite theaters. The customer service is great. The price is great, but it is a $1 theater (well $2) with very good prices on concessions! Weve been coming for years. I do remember the first time I saw it in pink neon and I had questions about what kind of place it was (Picture Show in pink hmmmm). Then, I saw families coming in and out (lol).
You definitely cannot beat the prices for movies and concessions. $2.00 movies all the time and $1.00 movies on Tuesday! I know a lot of reviews speak of needing repairs on seats and things but the place is in good shape. Especially considering they only charge such a smalll amount of money. I would definitely consider it a great place for friends and family!
Cannot beat this place for the price and ever friendly staff. This is a theater where the management has enough staff to take care of visitors and general housekeeping which is something that larger theaters could learn from. Yes the seats are ripped but still comfortable. But you can see 2-3 movies with the family for the price of one in others. Just go and youll have another favorite theater to visit.
This place is great if you only have a few bucks and want to go do something. They have an arcade and snacks and a restroom. Its so cool that you are able to watch new movies for only a dollar. Ive been coming here since 2010 and have never had a problem. They dont have the best seats in the world and its not the cleanest but you definitely get the movie experience for a few dollars...its worth it!
Clean and well organized theater. The selection of movies were great and their concession prices were reasonable. You have try their hot dogs not bad for a dollar. The chairs in the theater can be a bit uncomfortable since they are a bit old and worn out; If it wouldnt be for this reason I would have given a rating of five stars. A must place to visit if you are in Marrietta.
A great place to catch a movie thats been out for awhile and isnt showing in the major theaters anymore. The staff are very nice. The concessions are your typical insane price concessions, but hard to complain when the ticket is only $2 for an adult! Dont come here expecting UHD or IMAX quality obviously but the quality of screen is well worth $2. Only real complaint are the seats are made of leather and have a slight slope, so you slide quite a bit while seated. And the volume of the movie could be a tad bit louder. Other than that its a great place to catch a movie for 2$ instead of the typical 10 - 15$ tickets.
Ticket prices are great. Seats are TERRIBLE. Food costs are Terrible. I paid more for this 2 -$1.00 movie tickets 2 drinks and 1 medium popcorn ($19) than I do at NCG theater for the same thing. I aldi have much more comfortable seats. I will NEVER be back here until they Remodel the seats. I will eat first too. Good movie choices.. so disappointed
Overall, it is a great place which is family friendly and has a retro vibe. It has the style of a older theater and has the classic sign and lighting too. Incredible price of $2 per person and has a mini arcade inside. This is a great place to go on a date, watch movies with the kids, or bring your friends and I totally recommend it!
This place is fantastic! $2 movies! This place needs updates? I’ve been to movie theaters in the same shape that charge 8x as much for tickets! Love this place and I hope they always keep it cheap for customers.Update: just heard that they are renovating the place. Very cool. Unfortunately, I hope this doesn’t lead to a significant ticket increase. The cheap prices is what makes this place great and unique compared to every other theater nearby.
I took my daughter here for her first movie theater experience (shes 3). It decided to take her here because the prices are very affordable in relation to other theaters and Id be heartbroken if we had to leave early for any reason and had paid regular theater price. With admission for two, a large popcorn and drink was around $13.00. Overall, it turned out be a fun time!
I mean... Its a discount theater. You get what you pay for. The bathrooms are really scary. The seats in the theater are ripped. Seats arent stadium so youll be looking at the back of someones head. Place is perpetually dirty. But... Its cheap. Good things: the staff is actually nice. And because its a discount theater the crowds are usually a but more laid back and they get into the show more.
I love going here with friends. The price is great on tickets and isnt too bad if you choose to get snacks. Im usually with 3+ people, so we get the bucket that has free refills. If you dont want refreshments (and there is a line at the counters), just inside the doors is a place to purchase tickets so you dont have to wait in line. Doesnt help if you still need popcorn, but when the lines fill the room its simple to just get tickets and go to the theaters.
The Picture Show is a wonderful establishment that you can take your family too and have a nice affordable night out. The lines are long at times and if you show up just when the movie is about to start, forget it, it is packed and your going have a poor seat. However they provide good service and it is worth the price of admission. A drawback was that they only took cash, but with the new machine they are now able to take cards. If you want a nice affordable nice out in a discount theater that is well priced, then you will enjoy here.
I wish there were more dollar theaters like this. They play a good selection of movies. My wife and I got two tickets, a large popcorn tub, and two drinks for under $20.Its usually pretty busy on peak days so it doesnt feel dead like some theaters do. We enjoy being able to see a movie without breaking the bank.
Imagine paying $56 + to take 4 little ones to see a rated g movie on a budget, you cant buy popcorn and drinks at those prices. Its ridiculous. This is the best theatre yet for kids, its a family atmosphere, no unpleasant crowds, reasonable prices. Hope they stay around for a long time... thank you Picture Show
This place use to my favorite place to go when funds were low but wow. The management has let the place go down, I mean how can the seats not be a priority. I do think the options on food could be better and the prices a little lower not asking for dirt cheap price but the prices are toooo much. Please respond back when the Seats are fixed. One positive was the cop in the lobby.
Been here many, many times over the past like 10, 11 years and counting. We come a good 40 minutes drive (so over 1 hour RT). If its in the budget, an upgrade to the theater seats and maintanence of the bathroom would be very, very good. Yall keep coming here, so hopefully someday soon, they can afford to upgrade!
Whats not to like about a two dollar movie?! Tuesdays are super Tuesdays and you can get in for a dollar. You wont see first-run movies here, but who really cares. The theaters are really clean and the concession stand is great. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to take their kids out to the movies but theyre not sure how they will react.
It doesnt get much better than a movie for $1.75 ($1 on Tuesdays). Granted, the movies arent new releases but they arent oldies either. This theatre gives you the chance to catch up on the movies that you didnt get to see the first month or so after they were released. Food at the concession stand is also reasonably priced. The theatre as a whole isnt the newest or state of the art but you cant do too much complaining when you only paid less than $2 to get in.
The picture show at merchants walk is the best kept secret in Marietta. The tickets are only 1.75....and contrary to the price the theater is wonderful. Its clean and the seating is comfortable. Of course the movies are older but in todays society that could mean a week....they also sale all beef hotdogs for a buck. They do have a little arcade play area for kids and they also do birthday parties. ...great place been going there for about 15 years....
This place is awesome. Not the fanciest theater in the world but the price is great and they have reasonable concessions as well. My wife and I can both see a movie with popcorn and a soda and its usually around $12. Movies are older but theyre not too old. Usually in this theater a month or two before they come out in retail. Some a little later, some earlier. All in all, a diamond in the rough.
Such an awesome hidden gem in the Metro area. My boyfriend and I love going here about 2 times a month to enjoy seeing movies that we might not have been willing to pay full admission for. Its always quick to purchase your tickets and they even have self-help kiosks. It does get busy on Tuesday nights when its $1 admission! One of my most loved local businesses.
I love this opportunity to pay so little for movies. On my budget it is a saving grace. Thank you Picture Show! Carole Madan&&&&&Edit Of Original Post - February 2020OH NOOOO.... Picture Show is closed for renovations. I beg you, please let us still come there at a lower price. My friend says the renovation will cause them to charge more. I am bereft yet hopeful that we elders and mothers of many young children can still come there in the future for two or three dollars. Please!
- Chairs kind of suck (depending in where you sit), so if youre on the taller side then you might now like sitting here for 2 hours. It would be a better experience if youre shorter ha ha.- Movies finally arrive after a month or two (after leaving the normal theaters that charge over $8).- Tickets are cheap ($1-$2 depending on the day).- Its an pretty ok experience for what youre paying!
Im going with 5 stars here. I would give 4.5 if I could only because it looks a bit dated inside, the restroom is messy and there are always a few seats that are torn up. However, it is only 2 dollars and you still get to see great movies on the big screen. Its not just the movies that no one wants to see like some cheaper theaters show. You get to watch all of the biggest titles here. The staff is also friendly.
I know this place is only 2.00 but they could at least clean it up a little or put in some air freshners. There was a horrible smell in theater 2. Also the screen was black for the previews was unable to see them. The seats are torn, the screen had two rips in it which caused a distraction with watching the movie(kept focusing on the rips) Also the popcorn was stale as if it had been there for hours without being changed. I see a lot of people coming to this place, they should take some of the money and revamp this place. The good that I like is the staff is friendly and helpful.
For the money, Picture Show cant be beat. Movie selection is always good and the food prices are very reasonable. The only factors preventing a 5-star rating are the seats in Theater 3 (40 years old?) which are not comfortable whatsoever. Also the Mens room is always completely soaking wet - floors, walls, sink. If possible, try to hold it until you get home!
Nice employees, and relatively clean bathrooms and theaters. Concessions are also really affordable. I love this theater, and dont feel I have a cheap experience, despite the affordable price. They recently updated the seating too! If something is not clean, then you can rest assured someone is on their way to make the cleaning rounds which seems to happen regularly. Gets really packed on the weekends though.
Lets see...the whole family of four going to AMC (tickets and one double drink/pop corn combo): +/-$80.00. Picture show tickets, Pop corn/drink combo and a hot dog each: Around $25.00. Its not stadium seating and if you get a big head in front of you, youll surely not like seeing only 1/3 of the screen but the savings are enough to overlook this and then go have dinner somewhere. Plus the pop corn is better.
I visit here frequently, love the prices for the movies although lately it has not been clean. Just because the prices are cheap customers should not have to look at seriously overflowed garbage bins right at the front entrance. The bathrooms are usually clean but the smell is bad because of improper ventilation. Maybe it is because of staff shortage I did see that are hiring.
Price of movies is awesome - especially for the demographic of young, broke college kids that live in this area. Whats not so awesome: how run down the theaters are, how dirty the lobby constantly is, and how badly the crowd that comes here treats the establishment. Its not really the staffs fault - the people that come here just dont seem to want to keep it nice for everyone.
I bring my grandson here on occasion and were from cherokee county. Love the prices for everything. My only beef is that almost every single seat in every theater are torn up really bad and not good for sitting. I think that is an issue for patrons because the last few times we gone, there hasnt been much of a crowd. Thats the only reason for the 3 star rating.
A real bargain at $2 tickets. Also the concession prices are very reasonable. This is second run theater, i.e., the movies play a week or two after they leave the first run expensive theaters. This is a great option for a family movie night. Do be aware that they replaced seats a few years back but many already have rips.
Love this movie theater! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I like that they do tickets and concessions together. I usually get three tickets, a box of M&Ms, a large popcorn and a large drink for less than 20 dollars. What a tremendous value for the money! I like that they always have a kids movie playing during the day. The new leather seats are very comfortable, they have plenty of booster seats for the little ones and the picture and sound quality is equal to most full price theaters. The only negative is the bathrooms tend to smell unfortunate, but I think that is due to a plumbing/architecture problem.
This is great theater where you can go and have a night of fun and know you can get popcorn and still have enough for gas!! Employees are very nice, always helpful and the theater stays pretty clean. I never go pay full price, this is how it should be. I would be very very sad if Picture show wasnt around.Suggestion: After the latest show starts, please leave the popcorn bar open a little longer, sometimes I have gotten there right when the movie starts grab a popcorn real quick and the popcorn bar is already shut down. Its a bummer.
This place is fabulous. Its not the fanciest theater, but the prices are unbeatable. I often come here to watch a couple movies on the big screen without paying an arm and a leg. Concession prices are also very reasonable. Wait for movies to come out here and binge watch them for cheap. Great for us poor college students!
Big time movies are cheap (2-3 dollars a person) which is definitetly the big draw here. The facility is not anything modern or extremely well kept (ripped seats and such), but to be honest it doesnt really matter when prices are this good. Honestly surprised they stay in business. Overall a great experience for my wife and I while on a tight budget. Will be coming back frequently.
Best bang for your buck. Im so glad I found this place online. Ever since movies cost more than $7.50 to go see in the theater, I stopped going. I would just wait until they arrived on Red Box rental. Now that I found this place, where movies are just $2, Ive actually been going to the theater again! :D Its nice to be able to see certain movies on a big screen. :)
I will come here more often for my me time movies. The staff was very nice, I paid $7 for a movie, popcorn and a coke. Yes its a very outdated theater and could use some new seats but it was clean and pleasant. Ive been on their text list for some time so I always get the updates on what movies are playing which I never really paid attention to until today. Thats going to change...
The movies are recent, they show both adult and childrens movies. At times my husband and I go to an adult feature and the kids go to theirs or we split up. The theater is clean, seats are comfortable, lines are very short, there is even a self pay kiosk if you just need tickets. A family of four can go for under $20 and get tickets, large refillable popcorn and a large soda. In this area anywhere else the popcorn alone would cost you more than the four Picture Show tickets! The place has personality and plenty of places nearby to grab a bite before or after the movie. Great value for the money.
Went here as a change of pace from my typical discount theater in Faytteville. Took my three kids and all of our tickets cost the same as purchasing one from a major chain theater. Staff was friendly and the facilities were ultra clean. The seats were great, better than a lot of more expensive theaters.Only complaint was some noisy patrons but that isnt the theaters fault.
Its a cheap theater to watch movies recently showcased @ the regular theaters. The seats are unkept & not maintained... There are broken seats & dirty floors. Movies are around $1 each. If you dont care about the ambiance & just wanted to watch a movie on a big screen. Heres the place for you.
Great for the price, friendly staff. The screen and sound is not bad at all. During the movie, could hear people outside even though we were seated in the middle and some seats were damaged so mine had a duck tape on it that kept sticking to my shirt. Still will definitely go back again, cant beat for that price.
5-18-20 update. Well, I see that they updated their seating and did some remodeling, BUT Skyrocketed their prices. We used to drive 20 miles to go to this theater for their deals.....Not anymore! Quadruple pricing is CrAzY.2018 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Got to love their prices, however they need to do some upgrades to their seats and decor. I know for the price that youre not going to get a top notch theatre, but some of the seats are in very bad shape.
The staff does a great job in keeping this theater clean. Service is friendly and responsive. Id been coming here for many years while living in Marietta and Atlanta and still will continue to when in town. It was wonderful to see the same friendly face today after moving to FL almost 2 years ago.
Its ok for a discount theater. I took my 3 year old daughter here for a birthday party one Saturday. The theater was packed but they reserve seating for birthday parties. The popcorn was fresh and they have booster seats available for the small kids. The birthday room is tiny. All in all, its just ok. My daughter had a blast.
What you pay is what you get i guess. For a $1 movie place its what you get. The chair was really hard and uncomfortable but i mean i paid $1. Which is really cheap. So Im not complaining. The place could probably get cleaned up a little bit more. The theater was a bit dirty.
This place is great for taking your family, friends, or anyone else to see a cheap, affordable movie. They have great food, the staff is SO nice, and the arcade is fun to hang around while waiting. I just have one very minor problem, the bathrooms could be a little cleaner, but still, you get a lot for what you pay for!
I love that you can see recently released movies for an affordable price, without missing much of what a standard theatre offers. The lighting in the theaters isnt great if you come in and out during a showing, but the picture and sound quality isnt too noticeably different from the 4 movies Ive seen here from a standard theatre and the seats are really nice.
I love love this place and enjoyed it even more when I was a dollar and I was able to take my son there two to three times a week think has every time with the concessions we spend a small fortune on concessions I do hope that I do hope that once I get the renovations paid for their get back to $1 or a reduced price again
Go here for cheap movie admission and concessions. Movies are $1.75 for new-ish releases, and $.75 on Tuesdays. The theater is a little older and less modern, but its really not what youre visiting to see. Great for the budget conscious that doesnt have to see a movie on opening day.
This is a typical after-run dollar theatre. I purchased my tickets online, and when I arrived, there was no one in the ticket booth. There is a self-serve, computerized (ticket printing..??) kiosk inside, near the entrance--which had a dark, dusty screen and was not in operating condition. Finally, I walked over to the concessions cashier, who told me I would be able to print my ticket there--no signage-- by giving her the card I had purchased them with (not the confirmation number...?hmmm....) I guess you cant just buy tickets for you teens and drop them off with the info and some cash...not very convenient. But, I would double check that, as the cashier seemed to still be training--I also ordered popcorn and 2 frozen slushes--and she needed assistance throughout our transaction. The popcorn was not fresh popped, but slightly warmed, and just ok. The seats are comfortable enough, but are not reclining theatre seats. The floors are sticky, as they are not carpeted throughout the seating area, like more updated theatres. Reading the other reviews beforehand, I didnt venture into the restroom. All in all, I paid $15.50 for a movie for two, including popcorn to share & 2 slushes! Id call that a pretty good night out!
Good, cheap cinema - more than just a couple of screens, and again, the price cant be argued with. The snack prices are gouging as always, but since the tickets are so cheap, I can let that slide.I wish their A/C would stop going out, but I expect thats out of their control. They do warn with notices on the door when their A/C is down.
Cheap movies. Kids shows during the day with the PG-13/R rated films shown later on. All movies shown are already out of bigger theaters. Cant beat their $1 hotdogs. Great place for special needs viewings. Theater rooms arent always spick and span, and the seats are old, but you cant get much more for just $2.
I use this theatre a lot because the tickets are $2. Because of the price I ignore minor issues like some tears in the seat fabric and dirty bathrooms... Yesterday I took my 2 kids to a competitors stadium seating theatre with reclining wide leather seats... the controls did not work, the bathrooms were dirty and the admission for 3 people was $49.26 !!! (thats with NO food) ! Looks like Merchants Exchange is the theatre for those of us who are not multi-millionaires... It may not be the perfect experience but apparently $50 wont be much better either !
My wife and I go as much as we can. If you dont want to pay an arm and a leg to see a movie in theaters, but still want to see it on the big screen, you can! And it costs about the same price of (waiting a couple weeks/months) renting it from a redbox. We get to see a movie, 4 hotdogs, a large tub of popcorn and a large drink for under $20. Yes the seats may be worn and a little warm in the theaters, but come on people, you are paying less than $2 for a movie. If its luxury you want then there are plenty of places you can take the family for 10x the price.
Excellent prices, great movies, you pay for your tickets at the concession stand. Staff is great. Best deal on popcorn is to get a tub and portion out the popcorn into plastic ZipLoc bags. The kid pack has waaaay too little popcorn, I go here because they sell HOT DOGS ❤❤❤ No other theatre around the area sells hot dogs ( that I know of ).
2 dollars to see a movie on a big screen? Sign me up! Waiting a couple more months to see a movie is not a problem to me. Biggest downside to waiting is that you may have parts of the movie spoiled by those who have seen it. But, Picture Show has a fair pricing system so thats a big plus. Point of improvement: they need to work on keeping their restrooms clean.
I love picture show. The service is phenomenal. The workers have such an amazing upbeat energy, especially laura the cashier. Laura was awesome, she made momma feel right at home. I loved another cashier, Michael. Now thats some hot stuff. His body is what keeps me coming back. Also the tickets are 2 bucks, cant beat that. Great price, great service, great movies. Im hooked!!!
Admittedly, we came late to the movie. It was pitch black in there, which is great when youre watching, but difficult if you need to leave for the bathroom or something. Not the theaters fault, however I did have a bad experience with another patron asking me to leave a kids movie when my daughter started making a little noise. Im not talking about disrupting the movie. My daughter has autism, so I know when she gets loud, but she did really well, and just hummed here and there, and a woman asked me to leave.
I took my nanny children here to see maze runner. It was $6 for all three of us. The movie is 2.5 hours long, and even though the seats don’t recline, I didn’t feel too uncomfortable. However, the rows are close together and I could feel the guy behind me coughing on my neck. *Subsequently bathing in hand sanitizer.* 4 stars because this place isn’t super clean... they updated about 8 or so years ago and while it doesn’t look terrible... the bathrooms could have used an update back then... and could now.
Movies are basically a nickel. A good place to see movies super cheap before they come out on home video. Movies typically show up here two or three months after their initial release. The staff is a bunch of underpaid wage slaves, but they do their best and really make going here a positive experience. My friends always make fun of me for liking this theater so much. They say its janky. I dont really care. The screens are standard, the chairs are comfortable, and the movies are solid, so I dont really give a shoot. Its also in the most suburban area imaginable; youre more likely to encounter a high schooler vaping $25 mids in the parking lot than any sort of violent crime. In short, go.
Ive been going there for years and Im about to go there tomorrow to check out a show. Cant beat the price to see the movie on the big screen before its on DVD or your cable provider. Please keep this in mind: Do not expect the theater to be like the popular theater where the movies cost almost $20 without refreshments. This is the place for the whole family with a budget. Also keep in mind that on certain nights the kids & teenagers take over...its expected since the price is right...lol!
Best dollar show around! Only 2 bucks! Just saw I can Only Imagine and ready player one, plus got an icee all for 10 bucks! Sure the seats arent always the best and one of the out of order sinks is covered in duct tape, but still way better than could be, overall well kept up.
Whats not to love about this place. I take my son at least 3 times a month since its so affordable. I gave 4 stars only because its FREEZING cold in the theaters. Other than that I love this place...just have to put on a winter jacket and take a blanket each time. Great place.
I like it here alot simply for the cheap prices, food, candy and drinks. If you wanna save money this is the place to go I save so much going here. I mean 2.00 for a movie compared to the 13.25 I was paying at AMC 24 on Cobb Park way uh yea thats 11.25 Im saving alone. I can pay 10.50 here and get a large drink, popcorn and candy compared to the 15.75 I was paying at AMC 24. Its not top of the line but you cant beat the prices, good customer service, nice environment etc.
You can not beat the price! The theater is always clean, staff is very friendly.Good variety of movies. I go to see A. movies I didnt catch at first release, B. movies that I have seen & want to catch again. For a budget cinema the prices for concessions are too high - just saying.
I love being able to go to movies at all times of the day. The prices are amazing . I am so grateful for this lifesaving get away to run too. The only negative is the overflowing garbage and really dirty rugs.... I always imagine myself negotiating a super low rate and coming in and cleaning up for them..... funny....huh. great place
Why do people leave their personal brain lapses and mistakes on someone elses business review? Hmm, for the price this movie theatre is epic and the staff are all friendly. Not the most comfy or largest screens with the best sound...but its a $2 movie theatre and even the snacks are less expensive than going to the avalon or something like that. If you want a low key vibe to watch movies all day for the best price in town, with out a bunch of uppity bigot weirdos around. This is the place! They even have some arcade games. Upgrading them would make this place even better for the little ones to enjoy
The price is right but the facility itself is somewhat in disrepair - broken seats, stinky bathrooms, popcorn strewn floors, worn out carpets and walls, but once the lights dim, its like being in a full price theater, and they have a great selection of movies. Again, the price is right!
Great place to enjoy a movie. I highly recommend stopping by the big liquor and wine store next door before hand to purchase several mini shot bottles to enhance youre experience. Please remember to throw them away when leaving instead of leaving them on and under the seats which so many people do.
Excellent value overall.Warning: try to buy your tickets at the inside kiosk just behind the ticket booth or else you could wait in the concession line for 15-20 minutes for just tickets (Ive timed it several times). If I am stuck in a long concession line then I send my kids on in (often no one checks for tickets). I have not found predictable line-length times but it can get really busy early afternoons.Btw, if you plan to buy snacks it would really save time for you and everyone in line if you decided before you address the concessionaire.
You can watch any movie at the cheapest here. Even youtube sell movies for 2.99 bucks. All movies are $2 and $1 on Tuesday. I was all scared by reading all negative reviews, but when i visited it was ok. There were two visible marks on screen, and seats back was smaller i.e. No head rest. Other than these everything was great. If you buy tickets from kiosk it would be more cheaper. If yiu buy it online you will have to pay taxes.
This is my favorite place to watch a movie. Besides the lower ticket price and later release dates, the only difference Ive noticed between this theater and others is the sound. I recently saw Blade Runner 2049. The loud bass tones made a noticeable rattling sound. Everything else about it is great though.
Ive been to several theaters in the area where Ive paid full price for a ticket only to sit in a dank moldy uncomfortable theater with spotty sound. This is NOT one of those theaters. After years of going to Picture Show, I still cant believe a dollar movie is even an option today and I fear the day when I look for an inexpensive way to see a movie in its original format and find I no longer have Picture Show as an available option.
A very inexpensive theater ticket prices are two bucks and they do have full snacks and drinks like a typical movie theater. The seats are kind of hard but the restrooms are usually clean. At busier times youll have to wait in line a long time to get a ticket so make sure you go early. You cant beat the location and price of this theater.

2022-05-06We had a great time at this theater! The theater inside felt really good and the staff was very helpful as we arrived early for our movie! The only negative I will say is that it did look like an abandoned movie theater from the outside as it definitely needs some exterior renovations! Other than that it was a pretty good experience!

2021-07-21I haven’t been to this movie theater in 3 years and I’m impressed with the renovations. It looks great! The seats recline and their movies are up to date. It’s just $4.50 on Tuesdays, can’t beat that if you’re on a budget. It was nearly empty when I went in the afternoon.

2021-04-30The renovations are beautiful! The seats are amazing and they recline. They have excellent COVID procedures in place. The seating is very spaced out with varied options for groups or individuals. The kids and I had a great time. You can buy tickets online now too! The ticket price is doubled and the snacks are expensive but its still worth the experience and still cheaper than the regular movie theatres.

2022-06-14This was a wonderful theater! The prices were great compared to other theaters in the area. I went to my first showing here when I saw the new Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness and it was a great experience!Concessions, picture, sound, staff, cleanliness, all great!

2022-03-16Love this theater. Has comfy seats that recline and tickets are affordable. Food is a bit pricey, but all movie theaters food is pricey. For the comfort and ticket price, this is now my favorite go to theater. You wont be disappointed.

2022-07-08The newly renovated Picture Show at Merchants Walk is nice for a movie going experience, and their movie pricing is great. The bathrooms are still gross and in need of updating and more routine maintenance. They need to do a better job of checking tickets when you come in, or I worry they wont stay in business. We bought tickets in advance, and were never asked to show them.

2022-03-25I love this place. Its my go to. Ticket prices are lower than everywhere else but they still have leather recliner seats and great concessions. Only complaint would be the bathrooms are a little small but thats a minor price to pay for more affordable tickets and great seats. As with most places that do reserved seating now, I recommend purchasing a few days aheahd. None the less I bought the tickets on March 9th for Batman and still got pretty great seats.

2022-06-21Came here with a friend to see the new Jurassic park and loved the comfort of this theater. It is smaller than the ones i have been too but thats what makes it great. I love the fries and will definitely be back for more fries and a movie!

2022-07-02Its a movie theater. That being said, Cant beat the price. When choosing your seat, keep in mind theyre not stadium style so if someone tall sits in front of you, youre going to have an obstructed view. Love the remodel and will look to come in the future.
