Poor customer service. Kevin wasnt willing to help me at all. The manager who he called wouldnt help at all either. Called me home location and nothing is or ever was wrong with me account. Will not let you use any other equipment besides working out.
Nice, clean gym. Great large showers. Only slight problem is that the shower I used had a slight drainage problem. Great gym

The gym was great just one issue gaps in bathroom stalls WAY TOO BIG. I took a few pictures as evidence you can literally see everything and everyone can see you behind the stall. No privacy very very inappropriate. Please fixed immediate
I went into this feeling really deflated and almost brand new to a gym experience. I didnt know what exercises to do or how to begin.The trainer working at this location helped me by building a weekly set of machines and exercise routines to follow so I can achieve my goals.Now Im entering feeling confident and ready to tackle my own fitness.Thank you!
My Planet Fitness is a clean and friendly staffed facility. I do enjoy the conversations and interactions with all members. I would highly recommend this business to any of my family and friends for general fitness requirements. My only issue is with the excessiveness of cardio equipment. Planet Fitness is a modern day facility, but seems to lack room for growth due to so much unneeded equipment. Or maybe I just have more use for the weight side, which is always crowded during the busy hours. You have to wait in line to use the bench and Smith Press areas, never a wait to use the treadmills. And just rounding off the end of my conversation; I also believe, as a company, the image of the lunk should be removed for non judgmental reasons. Lunks have feelings too! Lol!

I was visiting out of state so I visited several Planet Fitness’s between Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the facility and the staff was very pleasant. They greeted everyone and made you feel welcomed!
Friendly staff and great machine options! Finally getting myself back in the groove, and Ive never felt more comfortable at a gym than this one. I also highly recommend getting their Black Card to fully use their facilities!
Small gym with different machines, but excellent showers.
I absolutely love it here. I have scoliosis that compresses the nerves next to my spine, so Im working to strengthen the muscles next to my spine and my back in general until I can undergoe surgery and have an easier recovery. The machines here are all very simple to use and each kind has a visual guide placed on them. Ive never come here and seen anything dirty, its always extremely clean and well maintained. They play good music if you forget your headphones, and the staff has never been anything but courteous and helpful. The massage chair does wonders for my back and I LOVE using it after a workout. The atmosphere is great. Ive been to a few other gyms and Ive never felt comfortable, but I do here. Keep up the great work guys.

I was visiting from out of town for the week and was surprised at how well this establishment was run. James at the front counter was extremely helpful with all my questions and ran down the process of guest passes and policies respectfully with great patience. I tried leaving a tip but he declined. Thank you Planet Fitness Columbus I’ll definitely be back on my next visit!

They singled me out for talking on my phone, everybody else and their mama was talking on their phone nobody else was adressed but me so I feel attacked and singled out so I canceled my membership, I will never is it this location again or any other planet fitness on earth.And this is replying to the owner, all this happened in front of the manager who did nothing he did nothing he did not ask me what was going on and what was the issue and how could we solve it, so I Looked at him and told him to cancel my account and I gave him my number to cancel it with. And Javi, DELETE my comment Off of the Facebook page. So if you’re gonna be nitpicky about who’s on the phone with being on AirPods or holding the phone to her ear or whatever, put some “phone police”on the floor And make sure everybody is addressed, because it looks very targeted when it’s just me.

What a great gym! There is one gentleman who is at the front desk who greets me by name! I have a PF about 3 miles from my house but I choose to drive over 30 minutes to come here for ALL of my workouts. Note, the massage chairs and tanning reservations are done via computer not pen/paper which I prefer!!
The manager ,John, keeps the place in tip top shape and I feel safe with their cleaning practices. I was skeptical at first but I feel comfortable working out here. Masks are required. Thanks John for the great experience!
Have been going here for 2 years and I have no complaints. It is a good place for any level of working out and especially for beginners. They do get very busy at lunch time and from 5-7 when people are getting off work so be aware what time you go.
A few staff members that work the afternoon shifts lack people skills and dont make you feel welcomed. A stocky gentleman (staff) with a black beard enforces the rules, which is good, but he is really aggressive. I saw him inform someone that they couldnt occupy 2 machines and the member was obviously intimidated. But other than that, the gym is great. Morning shift workers are very friendly and polite. I wish there were more areas to do pull ups.
Lunchtime crowd is minimal, no trouble getting machines. Clean for and locker rooms. Friendly sociable staff
Ive been a member over 4 years and recently noticed an increase in the temperature and smell inside. Its always hot and musty smelling. Not sure if it has anything to do with new staff but it was never like this with the previous manager.
The people that work there are very helpful. Especially for the guy that works the night shift during the week. He is very nice and friendly. He keeps the gym super clean.
My wife and I cancelled our memberships cause of the corona virus we are both high risk and dont feel safe enough. After canceling they still took a payment from us and wont refund the money. We were going to go back to the gym eventually after things settle down but now we will be taking our business else where. Please be aware of the the shadyness that planet fitness does.
Love it here. I havent exercised in over 20 years. Just started again because I am now 52 and have hip and back pain and I wanted to start exercising again to strengthen my body to manage my pain. Its working! Im feeling really good and strong and energetic. I dont push myself too hard. I just exercise casually and it is helping. Its worth joining just for the hydro massage bed 😱This place is awesome!

Lots of great equipment that I never have to wait for, great tanning, great prices...love it so far. I did Max Fitness twice and HATED IT both times (so many billing isssues!) but Planet Fitness has been amazing. Staff is great and there is so much more equipment and it is all so clean. ++++++
Have great parking especially you are in a semi truck
Its a clean facility but not really my favorite. Theres not a lot of smith machines compared to treadmills if you go when the gym is crowded its a fight to get your workout in. There is also a lack of trainer presence on the floor after going there for several months I only saw the trainer on the floor maybe once or twice a lot of first time gym users are not going to identify a trainer and be bold enough to ask for help. It would be helpful if they would walk around and ask how your doing maybe advise you on how to amp up an exercise your performing you see a lot of regular more built gym members training first time users than the professional trainer themselves. All together if you like to walk its a good place to go if you want space and availability to perform your workout I would recommend another gym any day especially if you want steady results.
Open 24 hours is great! One night I had trouble sleeping, so I got up (3:00a.m.) and went to Planet Fitness for a really great workout – went home and felt much better. They just recently put newer equipment in. Best part is being able to watch & listen to TV privately. WAY TO GO PLANET FITNESS!!!
If you are looking for a gym, I would strongly recommend choosing a place other than planet fitness. The staff members can be dishonest with you when you are signing up which will result in you spending more money later on than you ever intended to. Sure, you can always read through all the fine print and find the truth about what and when you’ll be charged(as you should): However, nobody should have to pick trough everything the staff tells looking for lies when trying out a new business. If you go to planet fitness, it may be helpful to ignore everything staff tells you and try to find the answers for yourself.
Staff is very friendly, the equipment is well maintained and the facility is kept clean and orderly. For $10/mo, I cant complain. I am content. If this place was 24/7 on weekends and had precor ellipticals, I would love it. Life fitness ellipticals are blah, I dont get why they dont make them with adjustable ramps.
Absolutely love the club here in Columbus. The staff is extremely nice and get to know everyone who walks through the door. It feels more like a family instead of a gym.
No one bothers you. Great atmosphere. Theres no room for free workout spots. They have mats to lay out for you to workout on but little to no space to put them down without blocking one of the machines.
I read some horror stories about different PF locations but still decided to go for the 1 year black card membership and so far I dont regret it! Very clean, plenty of cardio, adequate smith machines and weights, decent tanning and big locker room. A steal for $20/month. My only complaint at this point: I wish it was 24/7 or at least open later (9pm would be cool) on the weekends. I work shifts 6am-6pm on sat and sun so that eliminates two days a week for me :/
Just joined, but so far Ive really enjoyed my workouts.
Always relaxing and the music is always playing the latest so if you dont want to zone out the music they play rocks the equipment is much better at this location

Really a great place to workout, but I wish it were 24-7. The hours and days Im actually available are the hours they are about to close. Back in Texas, because of work, family and school, I would go to the gym Saturday and Sunday nights at Planet Fitness. Now I cant do that here without choosing a more expensive gym.
ᴑ No Olympic bars. The Smith Machine is the only option to do deadlifts, squats etc. Also, not many spots for pull ups and the like (Assisted pull up rack available.)ᴑ Tons of cardio equipment of all sorts (treadmill, stepper, bikes, etc.)ᴑ Staff always friendly and busy cleaning,ᴑ Commercials on PA are repetitive and annoying.ᴑ Very affordable membership fee.Edit September 2020Planet Fitness is generally doing a poor job handling the Covid-19 situation. In addition, the staff at this particular location is not opening the gym on time. Members who want to work out early in the morning, frequently find the doors still locked during times when the gym should already be open.Edit September 2021Unfortunately, this location is now allowing groups of people to perform their crossfit workout in the gym, hogging equipment and occupying a lot of space in the process. Proper gym etiquette is not being enforced.
This was my second time coming to this specific location and I really like how the employees are very welcoming, the bathrooms are clean, the equipment is well taken care of and very clean.
The staff is great. Friendly and courteous. The machines available are always clean, and serviceable. The temperature in the gym is good too.
First time experience with planet fitness. I’ve never been to one because I’ve enjoyed the classes available at Max Fitness whereas planet fitness doesn’t offer any classes. The lady at the front desk was on the phone and told us it would just be a moment. 15 minutes later she’s still on the phone and another lady finally comes up and tries to check my boyfriend and me in but states that his card was expired even though he’s still being charged monthly for it. There was no apology for the wait. They just acted like they didn’t care so we walked out. Max fitness in comparison is awesome. There’s always someone to greet you with a smile and they actually look like they work out as well. Thanks planet fitness with your annoying ‘judgement free zone’ theme and obnoxious purple and yellow colors for truly revealing your true colors.

Great atmosphere and wonderful staff! I came to this Planet Fitness from one in north Atlanta. You would think somewhere like that would be far better than Columbus but it is the complete opposite. Columbus has a nice assortment of drink options, tanning lotions, and their equipment is always clean. My old PF only had 3 tanning beds that were never maintained. PF Columbus has both lay down and stand up beds and the bulbs are hot. For $20 a month this is the best investment Ive made in a long time. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone not just beginners.

Have dropped 22 pounds so far. And had a training session this morning and.the trainer is very nice.Showed be some weight workouts to help me out more. Real cool guy thanks. Awesome staff
I got a decent workout, but its not the place to go if youre really into fitness. There was not a single free bench press bar to be seen (all of them are on rails). Dumbbells were all lower weights, and there were only four weight lifting benches (all taken by the handful of swole people who actually showed up). The guy next to me almost got kicked out because he was being too aggressive, putting a grunt in here and there while doing a super set of curls. Thats the whole point of lifting. Getting angry and tossing heavy objects around so you can put on mass. Theres also this alarm that goes off if you drop a weight. Long story short, if youre out of shape and trying to get into decent shape, its probably not a bad place to start. But if youre actually serious about being fit and showing real improvement and muscle gains, go to an actual gym. This isnt so much a hit on this location, but on the bigger franchise as a whole. They call it a judgement free zone, but the employees were hardcore judging the lifters who wanted to do nothing more than make gains. My best advise: if you say youre open to all fitness types, dont hate on the guy respectfully sitting on a bench trying to do curls.

Honestly expected little from PF, but these facilities arent bad at all and the employees are always willing to help.Note - if you cant put down your weights without setting off that stupid alarm, you should probably master a smaller weight 👍

Im a truck driver I signed up online-didnt know I had to actually go inside the location I chose to finish my sign up but I wasnt going to be able to make it back home for another 3 weeks after i signed up and i didnt want my membership to be wasted and so i called up here and spoke with a staff member named KENNETH(hopefully I spelled that correctly) who understood my situation, worked with me and now Im able to go to the gym wherever! No wasted membership here!! Thank you KENNETH I really appreciate everything!!

The new trainer Ebonie is freaky great! She is knowledgeable about what she does, personable with the clients, and funny. Its only been 2 weeks, but she has me hooked to PF in Columbus.
Management have zero people skills,their self absorbed with zero skills to make you believe otherwise they believe the club is for them only . , about to learn a expensive lesson.

Staff is very unfriendly walked in today 2 girls behind the counter didn’t even speak When they scanned me in. The staff is not helpful at all. They really need to do better at customer service. When you do ask for help it seems like it’s a inconvenience for them.
The branch manager in this location is an awful person to work with. This man or lady cant explain why moneg is being taken from my bank account monthly but I am being told I cant work out. This is stealing. Each month I am paying....I do have a past due balancestors but why is money being taken from my account every month aND being told by the staff that I cant use the services. The branch maanger hung the phone up in my face after yelling and screaming at me over the phone. I asked for to speak with her supervisor and she would not give me any information to report this location. This location is the most unprofessional operating fitness center in Columbus, Ga. EVEN THE STAFF LACKS GOOD CUSTOMER. SERVICE. AT NO POINT SHOULD A STAFF MEMBER TELL A CUSTOMER THAT IF THEY PAY THEIR BILLS THEN I COULD USE THE SERVICE WHILE MONEY IS COMING FROM MY ACCOUNT EVERY MONTH. WHAT HAPPENED TO ASKING ABOUT WHAT OCCUR IN SOMEONE LIFE THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED A PAYMENT TO GO INTO DEFAULT. HONESTLY, THE MANAGER OF THIS LOCATION SHOULD START CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING FOR STAFF. I WOULD NEVER REFER ANY ONE TO THIS SPECIFIC LOCATION. Just rude and unprofessional staff. I will be seeking information to report the entire company for denying services after taking money from my bank account. As long as money is coming from my account i should be able to use the service. That branch maanger is an awful person to do busiNess with.

Plenty of equipment to work on. Even when it is busy, you can do your planned workout without having to change plans. Tons of cardio equipment and water massage chairs and tables.
My go to planet fitness in the area. Honestly, the staff and people that frequent here are extremely friendly and I also prefer the machines they have on hand here. They also keep it clean even when it is slammed.
A decent gym but it definently isnt the best planet fitness Ive been to. Overall you cant beat it for the price even if people do freak out on you for using a gym like it was intended.
Ive not used a traditional gum in many years. This place not only makes you feel welcome but also motivates you with its cleanliness and friendly people.

2022-08-04Great gym for beginners and gym vets alike. Staff very friendly. They do a great job of making myself and others I’ve observed feel welcome, almost encouraging energy. Sometimes others don’t clean their machines after use but I’ve seen staff always make sure machines are getting cleaned. Very spacious layout allows comfortability in workout regime, whether around others or privately. Sometimes will have to wait for machines, but preoccupied machines are usually ready to go in a timely manner and with so much equipment already in gym, there are plenty of things to do while waiting. Would highly recommend this gym. Very affordable as well whether that’s via classic or black card membership which offers many other amenities

2022-08-28Great customer service! Gym is well kept. Staff and members work together to keep the equipment sanitized and orderly. The staff is very knowledgeable and you can even catch staff exercising of thier work hours.

2022-04-20James on the night staff deserves 10 stars. 20/10 guy. Greets every guest. Cleans the whole place, willing to explain all the machines. Best employee they have period dont even need to know the others.

2022-06-08A decent facility but definitely could be a lot cleaner. The early morning staff is amazing but most of the rules are not enforced so there are lots of trainers that dont work for planet fitness that hog the machines with their workout groups.

2022-07-31Was a good location until COVID-19, now their hours dont fit my schedule (during the week I work with the military and a hospital and weekends are my main time to workout), much of the front desk staff I have spoken to as well as one manager are rude and unprofessional, and I am currently looking for a new gym (Im a black card member, but many PFs in AL and GA are becoming this way.) organization. (Although I honestly wish that PF would get their act together again.)

2022-08-16Friendly environment with a great helpful staff thats always making sure its a safe and clean place for a daily workout. If youre concerned about how crowded it is, make sure you use the crowd meter in the Planet Fitness app.

2022-08-13So i have been a black card member for several years but this weekend i tried to bring both of my sons with me. That was untill the counter person stopped me and said i was only allowed 1 guest. I politely tried to discuss that the gym wasnt busy and ive done this once before.I asked for the manager to possibly fix this issue but she said they left for the day. She was unapologetic and clearly busy on her phone. She smiled and said have a nice day. As we got in my truck to leave i remembered they had free summer passes for kids. Hmm i thought why didnt she think of this easy solution, her phone perhaps!We went back in and i asked another employee how to sign one of my sons up. He was helpful but unfortunately the internet was slow and the app even slower. I sat there with my kids for 20 min trying to sign them up to no avail . What happened to customer service! This situation i believe should have made way for an exception...

2022-03-05The staff allowed a non-member in who proceded to go to the locker room and steal several bags. When Asked how the individual got beyond them they said the individual said he was waiting on his brother. So they allowed him on back. I guess all you need to do to go work out at this location is to say you are waiting on your brother. I understand its Planet fitness is not responsible for items in left in the locker room. But it is their responsibility to ensure that everyone who gets beyond the front desk is a memeber and or Accounted for. So when incidents like this happen they can easily identify who the person might be. Bad form Planet Fitness.The Manager has our contact info but has not contacted us.

2022-06-15I love the equipment and the knowledgeable, friendly staff. In addition, given that my membership is free via Silver Sneakers through Medicare, I love them to death! :-)
