I couldnt even take my luggage inside, afraid of taking bugs home, I had to go out and buy stuff to exterminate the room, I had to ask for it to be vacuumed, look like bugs and dust had been there since 1980, but to top it off the mattresses on the beds are discussing, looked like someone had surgery on the bed, lost lots of blood and then they cover with a plastic cover and rent out.The one star is for the outside, nice weather.
This place is really not that bad. I would have given it a higher rating except for a few things. 1. They have huge piles of logs that are uncut just laying around, but you cant cut them for fire wood. It appears that they are to lazy to hire someone to do it for you so you have to go buy wood to burn, what a waist of money. I was here one time that there was wood cut for fire and it was in the area where the Glampers (luxury camping) camp. Why do people who basically drove a house to camp get priority over people who tent camp especially in the winter month?! 2. They need to pay more attention to the cleanliness of the Porta Potties. Sometimes they are really, really nasty. 3. The security at this place is really lax. There is usually no one at the gate checking who come on or of the place. Watch your kids!
Military/DoD only campground. Poorly maintained roads and camp sites with just enough room for an awning. Life guard at the beach was a bit of a control freak. I will only go back for the marina and boat ramp, which are pretty nice. The Corps of Engineers has much better campgrounds in the area for a similar price.
Lake life...if youre from this area. Summer is fun in the lake. But we camp here around October when Georgias humidity is gone. Lol. Waking up and watch the sunrise or bonfire during sunset is priceless. Bring a lot of bug spray. Area is perfect for a weekend get away. Swimming and kayaking around the lake. Bring the family and have some fun.
I love this area of the lake they have actual sand which most of the time is underwater. Lately the water has been low so swimming can be a little Rocky. Bring your swimming shoes just in case

Beautiful scenery, great place for a family gathering or just a day at the lake. Great staff! Just be prepared to watch your step, theres goose droppings everywhere!!
The bathrooms are decent, the beach is nice and sandy, the playground for kids is amazing. Lots of different activities and enjoyable outdoor stuff.
Wonderful campground; from primitive to the biggest rigs, there is space. Right on the lake, have a swim beach and marina, playground for kids. Everyone was friendly, not crowded.
A great place for military families to get away and enjoy the outdoors.

2021-06-18We had a wonderful time! Even though the temperature was hot, there are plenty of places to relax in the shade with a nice breeze off the lake. Nice beach area and volleyball. Great fishing too!

2020-09-05Would be idea for family reunions and fishing trips. Our upgraded site (RV 4) was on the lake shore.... very peaceful. We were originally booked for Area 2. If you have 34 ft or larger RV I would suggest NOT staying in Area 2, beautiful scenery of lake but lots are small and crowded. We would definitely come here again.

2018-05-01Came camping at a full hook up RV site ...Asked for a site on lake couldnt have asked for a better spot, just perfect. Beautiful views , right on the point of a peninsula. Quiet, relaxing, peaceful...could go fishing right at our site. Beautiful sunsets over the lake in the evenings, birds and geese to watch. There are playgrounds, and a beach. Convenient Store just outside the main gate. Lots to do and see really enjoyed our stay and totally would recommend. Military and DOD only.

2021-10-04Excellent campground. We stayed in area 2 where there are full hookups. Nice hard packed, flat sites with water view and access right behind.

2021-07-07Points West is one of the best camping sites hosted by the MWR that I have ever been to. They also have several well kept cabins, a nice playground, great staff, and multiple areas to coordinate Mandatory Fun Time for your unit. Definitely worth visiting again and again.

2020-10-28Just returned from a 3 day stay and enjoyed the solitude of Points West and the 3 bedroom cabin. We were right on the water in Cabin 7 and got a little too comfortable cause it took us a bit longer to leave than anticipated. The cabins were clean and comfortable with large nice size decks on the back. Just peaceful and quiet.

2018-11-11Beautiful place! Attended my buddy’s wedding at the community center and the venue is great. The inside looked wonderful and up to date, and had a nice outside seating area. The panoramic view of the lake is breath taking. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Really liked the chandeliers inside. Only thing I could recommend would be more parking spaces so you don’t have to park in the grass for a medium sized wedding party (40-50 people)

2019-05-31Decided to spend the afternoon at Points West with the family, and it was great. We only visited the beach area today.It was a Beautiful Day, complimented by a well kept and well organized location.Definitely recommend for some family time, and time on the water.Next time well check out the boats.

2019-09-02Clark Hills is always nice. Going back tomorrow. Jet Skis 85 first hour 60 every hour after that 400/ all day. Boat 250/all day. Can rent canoes and what not. If you havent been I strongly recommend it.
