Pontoon has one of the best atmospheres and the best staff ever. The beer is absolutely amazing, but you have to be quick if you want to get your hands of a four packs of new release beers! The taproom has a laid back atmosphere and the outside picnic tables allow are great if you have a large party.
The Pontoon Brewing company is a really great place for private events. Really big and a lot of space, nice little yard. The decoration will make you feel like you just entered a giant cabin in the middle of the woods. Their beers are exceptional. Really refreshing place. Worth checking out and repeating.
Went by for the soft opening last weekend and really enjoyed it. As a Sandy Springs resident it’s great having a new local brewery to call our own. Some really interesting and creative beers I have never tried. Highly recommend any of their special casks. Only downside was they ran out of some stuff but that’s what soft openings are for! A must try.
We went at 8:30 pm on a Friday with 4 people. It was packed and difficult to find a table at first. We got the Honorary Girls Scout S’mores Cookie (porter), Flamingo Banana (hefeweizen), New Wave (blonde ale), and Crushing Waves (sour). We enjoyed all of them! I tried to get the Fight Milk (stout), but they were out.The night we were there, they partnered with Truck’n Chefs for food. We didn’t get food, but it was nice to have the option! They’ve have cute cafe lighting and Atlanta and college decor. They have shirts and other brewery items for sale. They have low tables, high-top tables, couches, and a big screen with a projector. They are so dog-friendly!! There were so many dogs, it was wonderful.Only complaint is how early they close. Even on Fridays and Saturdays, they close at 10. Last call was about 9:45, and they kicked us out at about 10:45. I wish they stayed open later! This is a fun brewery. We’ll be back. We definitely recommend!
When I noticed the construction of this establishment, I was delighted to see a local brewery popping up close to us in Roswell and the Chattahoochee River OTP vs. the plethora popping up ITP. Uniquely named with otters and the River in mind, the animal friendly brewery has some frothy IPA’s! I never imagined in some two years that I would become the annual Pugfest Atlanta MC! An animal lover myself, this really stuck out to me considering the numerous events I’ve performed across Atlanta’s field of brews. Definitely a brewery to hang at for a good time! Thanks to Tom chiming us in with Harley’s Angles to continue this mission to find pugs homes. The otter was wise to find companionship with the pugs ;) DJ Fonix #fonixentertainment
Place is located in a very peaceful neighborhood. Beers are amazing. Kids and dog friendly place. Staff was great! In pictures,1. Sol crusher, a Mexican style lager with light to medium carbonation. If you are familiar with modelo’s taste then this will not disappoint you.2. The Most Humble Pie, this was surprise for me as I don’t like sour beers but this was one of the best sour beers which I had in a while. It has flavors of strawberries, raspberries with vanilla aftertaste which make it juicy sour beer!3. Hooch Bier Blonde, a typical blonde ale with very light carbonation. If you like American budlight then you will like this too.
I love this place as they have such a fun and great variety of beers and Jill is absolutely THE BEST! Shes so nice, patient and helpful every time I come in which makes an already great experience so much better! Pontoon has enough variety to appeal to so many. Sometimes I have trouble figuring out which one(s) I want. Although I especially love their stouts and sours, theres so much to try and like (they have IPAs that even I enjoy). Nice open space inside and outside too!
My fiancé is a UNC Chapel Hill alum and our families are big Tar Heel fans, so we came to Pontoon to watch the UNC v. Duke basketball game (the biggest rivalry game in college sports). We ordered several beers and then, as the game started, a white female employee with brown hair tied up in a bun changed the channel. We turned around and jokingly asked why she was changing the channel. She responded she was switching it to the Atlanta United game. We saw no Atlanta United fans in the brewery, and no one watching the TV but us and our family. She said she could put the UNC game on the small TV in the corner next to a large group playing video games. We just decided to leave during halftime, after several minutes of observing absolutely no one watching the Atlanta United game. We did however observe that female employee sitting in the back, watching the Atlanta United game. Very poor and rude customer service. We unfortunately won’t be returning.
This is ONE. HUNDY. My favorite brewery. Hands down.I never thought Id be as big of a fan of a brewery as I am of Pontoon Brewing.I mean, I like beer and all, but never have I ever been interested in following what a brewery is releasing next. Pontoon Brewing has such unusual, flavorful brews it seems almost a shame to lump them in with craft breweries. Theyre more like a Master Craftsmanship Brewery.I feel now as though I had only been enjoying craft beer passively before. I might equate it to someone who only watched football passively before, but then found a team that suddenly awakened their passion for the sport. If youre ever near their Sandy Springs location, I highly recommend you stop by. The staff is down-to-earth, know their product well, and the atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. Apparently they are also dog friendly, and the cuteness of all the pups interacting with each other is a welcome (much needed?) distraction from all the ugliness seeming to be going on right now in the world. Good for the soul.🖖
Great beers; have long been a regular here. I’m a fan of almost everything they put out.EDIT: Had a brief issue with the bar staff and ownership was quick to reach out and resolve the issue thoroughly and made me feel comfortable coming here again.Highly recommend this place and look forward to continuing to watch them evolve.
You, you like beer yes? You like weird out there beers? You like breweries that arent afraid to throw flavors at the wall to see what sticks? Then this is the place for you. Dog friendly, weekends with tla food truck. Let me tell you this is a good place to hang and drink.
Parking lot patio on a nice day. The food truck was Cereal Lab - fun for the kids. Beer was good, umbrellas over tables for shade were necessary with the sun out. Parking lots do tend to small asphalty on hot days. No table service or other food - probably wouldve stayed longer if there had been something more like lunch.
Today (June 11) we had to sadly say goodbye to one of our pets and we came to celebrate her life outside with a cold beer. The staff was so kind and generous seeing we were still upset and went out of their way to provide a lovely experience. We’re regulars here and this was above and beyond.
Amazing brewery. I have been here numerous times and have never had anything other than a perfect experience. They constantly have events going on, a caterer cooking food, and one dogs around. The environment is absolutely fantastic with great music, a projector with something playing on it, and video/board games. The best part of the brewery by far has got to be the staff though, very attentive, friendly, and quick. By far one of the best breweries you can ask for
Many good dark beers. My wife really liked the Pumpkin Brown beer. Lots of outdoor seating and social distancing was practiced. Beers served in disposable plastic cups. Our server/pourer was very knowledgeable about the beers on tap and helpful with her recommendations.
DUDE... absolutely fantastic brews served here at Pontoon Brewing! completely overwhelmed with the quality of beer this unit is putting out. the service was equally superb - Lauren was the absolute ideal shaman guiding me towards the most perfect mead for my palette. i’ll be back to drop and contemplate the meaning of this otter mural 😉
Visited Pontoon for the first time today to pick up Tropical Snozzberries Taste Like Snozzberries Vol 5. Great atmosphere! Loved our bar tender. Great customer service and conversation. Theyre using distancing, masks and have plenty of hand sanitizer available. And lets just talk about their beer for a moment!!! Ive never had anything that I disliked from Pontoon and our visit to the brewery did not disappoint! The Horchata stout was really good as well as the Candy Bag beer! Go visit them! Support your local brewery 🍻
Sandy Springs gets a local brewery!I went in the middle of the week with a group on a whim, and service was impeccable. Friendly, personable, and passionate staff who clearly have a love for what they do - and might I add they do it quite well! Attractive pricing, and rustic/charming atmosphere.Pontoon Brewing Co. has all the makings of a great brewery, without leaving that oh-so pretentious taste in your mouth commonly had at other places.Cannot wait until theyre up and running full swing - excited to see what brews theyll be creating. Highly recommended! Will certainly be back.
Very awesome place to go and have delicious beverages after work or weekend. They have an awesome drink menu and plenty types of brew to choose from. Hard to choose a favorite beer as they are all very good. Highly recommend hanging out here with friends. Staff is very cool and will totally take care of you.Cheers! 🍺
The beers were good. Everyone working the bars were cool and knew their beers. The oatmeal stout was one of the best Ive ever had. Atmosphere is really laid back, basically a warehouse space with a bunch of tables, bar games. The location is a little weird, its located in an office park. Definitely worth checking out!
Good people, good atmosphere, great beer.Glad to see the new brewery in town! Sean took us on a small tour of the facility and told us of their future growth plans. Everything was clean and you can really tell that they take pride in their craft. I definitely see myself becoming a regular here.
Awesome scene theyve set up here with a great environment, better beer, and very friendly service. Very pet friendly. This is a perfect sport for game days, parties, or just Friday get togethers. All of the staff and owners are very personable and genuinely want to make sure you have a great time here. Will visit again and again.
Fun and spacious craft brewery in Sandy Springs off exit 6 of Hwy 400. With tall ceilings and a wide open layout, the brewery is a great place to meet for a drink after work or to gather a large group to watch sports. There is ample free parking in the lot and a Marta bus stops right outside too.On a different note, I tried their Southern Skipper and found it to be a very good, medium-bodied IPA with a nice wheat and citrus aroma. I look forward to trying that again and their many other offerings.
Thanks to Marcus I recently enjoyed Pontoons Evergreen Terrace Double IPA. It was a fabulously balanced Double IPA, which is often hard to find in a beer packing 8% ABV and 100 IBUs. It delievered a great mouthfeel, awesome floral hop notes on the nose, wonderful color, with a great balance of piney flavors that awake the taste buds. GREAT BEER!
It has been said that beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. It’s amazing that American vanguard Benjamin Franklin turned that phrase without having the pleasure of sampling the delicious offerings of Pontoon Brewing. These folks have everything you could be looking for in a beer: do you like straight up well made staples? Their India pale lager is as fine a brew in the land. Want a party in your mouth while you soak up the sun? There are fruit infused ales to tickle your taste buds. And don’t miss the chance to try some of their limited releases, like the boozy brownie batter offerings or the Helios, one of my all time favorite beers. Top it all off, it’s a small business run by hardworking people who are proud of their product and invested in their community. And that’s something I think ol’ Ben Franklin would find American as hell. Give these guys your business and don’t think twice about it.
Excellent beer and a large, relaxed, tiki-themed atmosphere make this brewery a great spot to enjoy some great brews with friends. Play trivia on Wednesdays, corn hole any day, or just relax on the outside patio when the weathers nice. Looking forward to going back soon!
At a builders event this evening. Two staff members working event not a good representive of encouraging future business. The two combined wouldnt make a pleasant personality. Though the beer is good. Dear owner, good product only gets you so far in maintaining future business.
I recently bought your Boats N Gose and I have to say that I was thoroughly surprised! I have tried many beers from Georgia to Texas claiming that they were Gose only to find that they must not really understand what goes into making a great Gose. You guys hit the nail on the head with this one! Not only did I get a genuine Gose experience, but it was by far one of the most refreshing beers I have had in quite some time. Thank you Platoon Brewing for this amazing experience and I cannot wait to try more from your selection!

2022-05-03Checked this place out and it has a great selection of beers. A lot of sours on tap. My favorite was ADIOS BEACHES. I definitely recommend it. Tried it and had to bring a four pack home.

2022-01-13This is a good brewery with a lot of indoor space. I actually had my wedding reception here partially due to the amount of indoor space. We dont live extremely close but have always enjoyed the beers when we could get down there. We did stop going for a little while due to them only allowing outside seating, I didnt have an issue sitting outside, in fact I would typically say we prefer sitting outside at a brewery, I just didnt support any restaurant or brewery who forced outdoor seating or masks after the mandates had ended for the state. Last time I went back though it seemed like it was back to business as usual as I did sit inside so I will be returning because they really do have one of the better beer selections.

2021-09-26This is one of the best breweries in Georgia. From having some of the most amazing beers from Sours, Stouts, Berliners and IPAs AND beers to-go, to having some of the most courteous amazing staff members, a very clean establishment. If you are into true excellent craft beer, do not hesitate to give them a try.. you wont be sorry! Here are some of the brews:

2021-09-08Not a big beer drinker, but I suppose this is as good as it gets! Friendly staff, and yum food trucks outside. I found counters to be a bit stick, but what can you expect from a brewery 😜 anyway - great experience!

2022-06-21This is probably my favorite brewery! I love sour beers and Pontoon always has enough sours on tap to get a flight or even two flights which puts me in Heaven. I usually leave with a six pack of sours.I wish this brewery was bigger. Once I met some friends at Pontoon and it was pouring! Fortunately for Pontoon, they were packed but then we had no place to sit. The beer was still good and Im happy Pontoon is doing well. Hopefully, they are doing so well they can expand and possibly get a bigger place. They recently announced a second location in Tucker, GA that looks insanely cool. They have a lot of outside seating so when the weather is nice it works out.Their can designs are always so cool because, you know, no matter what, we all still judge a book by its cover just a little.I dont live terribly far away but PLEASE BRING A LOCATION TO DAWSONVILLE. We have NoFo Brew Co which Im grateful for but Pontoon would just be icing on the cake. The staff is always friendly and respectful. I love when the staff knows their beers well enough too where I can say the kinds of beers I love and the kinds of beers I hate and they can make a recommendation instantly. Im never disappointed at Pontoon. Thank you!

2022-07-10Great selection of beers & their Sours are really top notch! Layout inside is a bit different than when I was last here (less table space, more things being stored out in the open (which sadly covers their amazing mural on the wall opposite of when you walk in), but I really like this place & their beers!!

2022-05-02Two gripes: 1. Why no growlers? This seems like a real miss and the new employee I spoke with had no idea why. Almost every brewery and cindery in the area is happy to fill one for you. 2. You have some of the best stouts Ive ever had but completely shut those down in spring, moving to sours that ... well, maybe theyre an acquired taste. Keep some dark beers year round please!

2022-04-04Love the place! I originally came because I asked about their beer at a local tavern and it led me here. Im new to beer and I love their dark and creamer Pecan Pie one. The place is friendly and I love the atmosphere and small businesses/food trucks that regularly post there. Great place for families, singles, and couples!
