This was our first time to this new, eccentric mall in Atlanta. Very easy to find in maps, easy parking and a relaxed atmosphere. Quite pricey however. But this store especially had super cute stationery, books, fidget toys, journals, greeting cards aplenty! Super nice and helpful staff. Will definitely visit again.
Lovely little bookshop with a decent size inventory of diverse genres. Nice collection of notebooks made of recycled paper. They have a handwritten book review display I thought was a nice touch. Some accessories for kids including handmade washable lunch bags and soft plush toy animals. Browsing was fun. 10/10 Ill be back to buy.
Great shop however knocked stars off due to zero acknowledgement from either of the workers for the entire time my son and I were in the store. Walked within 6ft of them both several times as well.spent about 20 mins here. Busy with their own conversation.Wife came in and purchased a giant 🐼 and my son added in a few books. Would have purchased a lot more as we are avid readers in our house, not to mention we were on vacation in Atlanta so looking for things to purchase! But theres a B&N less than 5 miles from our home in Texas which isnt any more or less inviting as a big box store.
Although the owner is deleting bad reviews which violates freedom of speech. This again shows the type of environment this business operates under. Bottom line is the store does not have friendly customer service. The manager is very rude and lazy. Don’t ask for assistance unless you want to be given a eye roll. Now after reviewing some books being sold here. Your store is not safe for children that’s a very fair and honest review. That would mean any child under the age of 13 should not be allowed to walk and shop this store alone. It is a factual statement that this store is not safe for families and children. Can’t take a bad review don’t go into a business serving the public.
Love the inclusivity and the love from the staff. (I spoke with Jonas to find a special book that I could not find anywhere else. He was AMAZING!) The selection isnt massive, but I will always support small bookstores before anything like some other chain stores. 10/10 will absolutely be back.
The literature section at Posman’s is the best that I have ever found in a modestly-sized new book store. The selection is carefully curated and includes not only the obvious big-name authors but also rare cult novels. I only wish I lived in Atlanta so that I could dip into its selection on a regular basis!
Super cute but also super small. Social distancing is hard in this teeny tiny store. The store has some cute local finds. A little bit of everything... great place if you are looking for stocking stuffers or a small host gift. Masks were required, dogs allowed and no dividers between customer and staff when checking out.
Huge book nerd here. Nothing beats the feeling of walking into a good book store, and Posman doesnt disappoint. Being at PCM, they could easily just offer the minimum, be a mediocre book store, and probably do just fine, but they dont do mediocrity. I love the feel of this store; so vibrant and welcoming. The layout is great, although a little overwhelming with the amount of people on busy days, but theyve handled this inevitability in a great way. Their displays are always on point, up to date, and rotated regularly. Theyre always stocked up with the newest releases, and they always have great recommendations of older books as well. I absolutely love this book store!
This is a superb bookstore! However, I love to cook and bought Ron Douglas cookbooks. Both cookbooks do not have photos to show how the dish should look and the ingredients are inaccurate! Ive read the most recent book-Methods To Millions is a waste of money with novice like tips.
This is what a bookstore should feel like. Posman Books is just so... quaint... but huge... if that makes any sense! It has that tiny, independent bookstore feel but has a huge selection that rivals the book sections of larger big chain stores. The staff was very friendly and my payment was quick. They accept credit cards, which I suppose is expected, but I was doubtful because its such an old-feeling shop.Overall, I love this bookstore and wish I lived closer so I could frequent it more!
I happened upon this pleasant store and left with a bag of goodies. Not only are the books clearly chosen with great conscious, many of the newly popular books are displayed alongside a handwritten note of recommendation. The location contains not only books but puzzles, planners, stickers, erasers, enamel pins, patches, and toys. Leif was friendly and happy to help customers.
This bookstore is incredible! Amazing selection of books, journals, and all things children need to embrace their sense of wonder and love of learning. The location at Ponce City Market has fabulous events that turn our local independent bookstore into a cool spot to chill on a Friday night.
Stumbled upon this store while waiting for our car to be washed across the street. Very cute and great prices. I did notice that the space is small and they have a lot of inventory that goes beyond books. As a result, it does feel a bit cluttered in there, and I feel like a person using a wheel chair might have difficulty navigating the store. However, I will definitely be back as I dont feel we were able to adequately explore. It is 2 and 5 year old approved as well.
I got tickled by the sign out side the shop. It said stop in and say hi. So I did. And the first employee was organizing books. I am grinning, waving my hand saying hi! He smiled big. I told him the sign out side said to come in and say hi. So I did. He laughed. And asked if he could help us find anything. The shop is cozy, staff super authentically friendly, and I will return. I thank you.
Great local bookstore and gift shop. They have my favorite selection of cards from local creators: thank yous, birthdays, just because ... Their staff is very friendly and not pushy. You can wander the store and never feel pressured to buy, but will see plenty of things youll want to buy if youre an avid reader.
Posman Books is such a cute and welcoming bookstore! Every time I come to Ponce, I just have to come here! Its impossible for me to walk out of there without a good book or some cute pins. They offer so many different genres of books and have lots of cool knick-knacks if thats more your speed. I highly recommend people to visit :)
Every time I visit Ponce City Market I always try to make a stop by this bookstore. They have an excellent selection of books that are organized in a clear fashion throughout the store. The staff have always been super nice and appeared to really enjoy working there. I also enjoy the pins, magnets, and other little knick knack objects they have between the tables of books.Definitely worth the visit if you are in Ponce City Market!
I was drawn into this store upon seeing the jellycat plushies in the windows. I never imagined I would see any jellycats in a physical store. And then they have a great selection of sci-fi and horror books. I am always hunting for good horror thats not Stephen King or the like.
Came in 15 minutes till close looking for tarot cards because Mystic whatever was closed, was super excited to find several sets to choose from... went with the cat deck ^.^ I will definitely be back when I have at least an hour to look at all the other cool books, writing, and drawing stuff.
It was a good experience, at first. The owner and I engaged in friendly conversation, until I mentioned the company I work for, at which point he proceeded to bash the company relentlessly and borderline insult me. I just wanted to learn about and buy a few books. We were having a really nice interaction before that, and I attempted to gracefully move past the topic, but I couldnt believe his lack of couth--he just kept going on and on in the direction of negativity. Needless to say, I will not be back, and I do not recommend.
A small bookstore with, from what I noticed, a somewhat large cooking and travel section for its size. For a bookstore this size, they probably wont carry some of the more obscure books. They have some contemporary books, classics and childrens books. This place is like half bookstore, half Hallmark store.
There for Drag Queen Story Hour with Edie Cheezburger. We love the bookstore, great selection, fun events, incredible staff. Only trouble is dealing with Ponce City Market on the weekend. So many people and impossible to find parking. Still worth it for a fun time and unique book selection, though.
This shop is well stocked with new and classic books as well as employee recommendations. Evidently for these they only keep one or two of the recommendation in stock, so if you see it on the display ho ahead and grab it! While checking out I was drawn to several local gifts such as the rip murder kroger sticker and the person at check out dropped a somewhat catty line to the effect of Youre the best impulse shopper weve had today. Please dont say this to customers. Its not a neutral or positive statement. I still checked out but it was followed by immediate buyers remorse.
I’ve never been in a bookstore so well thought in terms of titles and organization. There aren’t thousands of books here. Just hundreds of the right books. It’s the first time I’ve scanned the table spreads at a bookstore and thought, “I want like 12 of these!” ... on every table.

2022-07-15My favorite bookstore in Atlanta! Always have the newest releases and lots of local art and knick-knacks (I’m partial to the Smiski blind boxes). Love their LGBT section as well 💕 Staff is always down to discuss books and recommendations. They also carry literary candles and Boysmells, which I love as well. I come by every time I’m in the area.

2022-08-17The owner was extremely rude, and kicked my friends and I out of the store because we “weren’t buying anything.” Since when are we not allowed to browse in a store? And actually, of my friends had bought a magnet less than 2 minutes ago! Bottom line: horrible service, save your money!Update in response to the owners comment: 1. My friends and I are all adults; we are university students who do not need adult supervision. 2. We were genuinely interested in your book selection and were considering buying one of the books. 3. We did not hurt your business; we did in fact buy something, helping your business.

2022-05-14Beautiful bookstore, but the staff is always a bit rude at both locations (Ponce and Avalon). Not to the point of insult, but looking down on you like youre a waste of their time. It almost feels like an intentional training decision...? Bizarre. Posman is the closest bookstore to me, but I prefer to shop at other local bookstores where the employees are at least polite if not friendly!I dont need to be welcomed into the store or asked if I need help, but when an empoloyee gives me a rude up and down look when I come up to the counter, thats just impolite. And something similar has happened every time Ive visited either store! Its a lovely local chain with a good selection and cute trinkets, so its really a shame their employees treat customers this way. They almost act like they work in a luxury store at Phipps... lol

2022-08-17Getting kicked out for browsing a bookstore is wrong. People come to bookstores to look at books, read the synopsis of some of them, and then eventually decide if they want to buy a book or not. There is no rule that states that customers are not allowed to window shop. No one should be expected to come into a bookstore a buy a book or two in five minutes. By making customers leave, you are hurting your own business by not letting people look for something they would genuinely enjoy, and you are hurting the chances of having regular customers.

2022-08-16The manager was incredibly rude and was mildly racists. A group of 6 of us went in to look at the books and ended up buying a magnet. He kicked us out and said that it was “his store”. Absolutely unbelievable, please do not support his store.
