We were like Nemo in an aquarium toys-town . So many 🐟 of all kinds to fit your fancy 🥰😁. Even 🦐🐠🐟 these guys. Plenty of water 💦 plants to choose from 🌱🌿. Abundant of kind staffs who were there to assist with many, many questions that we had. 🥰😁 Our curiosity was well satisfied. We also realized how unprepared to bring home any fish, so we got the beta fishes for now 😁😃
Pros+good selection - specialized aquarium store!+knowledgeable and friendly down to earth associatesWeaknesses-Pricing - they are higher than the chains/competitors on similar/exact things (although overall they are more specialized in focus and appear to do more high end aquarium setups/service)-Customer Satisfaction policy on fish is weak especially considering the higher cost - only 24 hour policy (any leeway beyond that is not usually offered and is discretionary with scrutiny) whereas Petsmart has 14 day policy.Worth a visit tho
Out of all the aquarium stores I have been to around Atlanta. This one I believe to be my favorite. It has many different kind of saltwater fish. The stock is always pretty full and always changing. They have fresh water as well but i dont look at them. They have many kinds of coral as well. What i like the most is they get very small fish. So you can watch them grow from babies to adults. The staff is always been really nice and helpful. Even when you talk to them on the phone and ask questions. I have bought 7 fish and 1 shrimp from them. Clown fish i got as babies and they are growing strong. I had one fire tail goby that passed away but believe it got hurt on a rock or something. Had 2 small blue-green chromis that passed away 2 days after i had them but believe maybe it was how I Accumated them to the tank. All in all this is my choice for fish in atlanta. And will be hard to beat them. These are the fish i got from premier aquatics at different stages from small to big.
We love this “fish store!”I greatly appreciate how honest they are. I’ve had 2 different employees tell me not to buy something, because they knew it wasn’t good with other fish or corals in my aquarium. Then they showed me other options instead. They were, also, honest when they were medicating some tanks and shared which ones were plumbed together. They’re VERY knowledgeable and helpful, yet don’t annoy you when you’re just looking :-)After visiting several stores in the greater ATL area, this is definitely our new “fish store” home!
This place was amazing to go, even if you just wanted to look around for something to do. It was busy, but thats because of their great variety of fish and supplies. They have a good assortment of salt water or fish water, as well as plants and coral. The staff are knowledgeable, and helpful. They seem to staff heavily on weekends to anticipate the heavy demands, which is good. Prices on fish and supplies are competitive. Highly recommend!
Very knowledgeable and attentive staff. We have sold many cichlids and guppies to this store at a fair price, and have purchased many African Cichlids from Premier Aquatics. The staff pays attention to the customers requests and are always available/willing to assist.
I had a common pletco that grew to big for my tank. I was told to bring him here so he could find a new home. I called the store and they gave me fantastic instructions on how to transport him safely to their location. Upon arrival, the manager saw I had a fish in a bucket and immediately came over took the bucket and started the process to get him safely into a tank. We then stayed around a bit to learn more about the fish. They were beyond helpful and friendly. I will be back soon when its time for me to upgrade my tank. This is the place to go. Thank you
Premier Aquatics cant be beat. They have the most knowledgeable and informed staff around. The selection of fish and coral are amazing. Even when I am not in the market for a new fish, or in need of fish food or supplies, I like to go into the store just to admire all the fish and tank setups.
I always try to visit a fish store when Im near one and this one is awesome, great looking young plants, alot of freshwater fish varieties (I didnt look at the saltwater side) and plenty of natural items to choose from for decorating your aquarium. Not to mention so many amazing, unique tanks and supplies. Specifically, I noticed alot of Rummynose Tetras, Ropefish, Loaches, and several species of nano type fish and shrimp.
Purchased a Co2 diffuser which broke on assembly. Called the store about an exchange and they flat out denied based on the fact “it wasn’t broken when you purchased it”. I am quite experienced at this hobby so I was very mindful of the assembly of a glass diffuser (not the first one I ever bought) and a frequent customer of the store but their return policy is absolutely horrible (maybe because they are fully aware of their high prices for cheap quality items.) I will not be returning to this store specially when I can buy whatever they have on Amazon for much less. The only highlight about this store is their saltwater fish setup but I wouldn’t waste any money on anything else in there.
Trad was a GREAT help. We have a sick fish at home and he helped us find the right stuff to hopefully help the little guy out. He was a pleasure to speak with and took his time to show us all kinds of things around the store. I just can’t say enough about the experience. Thanks Trad!!
This is a really, really great fish store. Their selections on fish, sea creatures, and plants is amazing. Their selections is drift wood assortments, from small pieces to large show pieces is awesome and all of their equipment and supplies were in abundance. Every aquatics store for marine life and supplies should be done like this! Top notch!
If I want a fish thats rare, fresh or saltwater, this is the place to be. When you walk in to here and ask someone a question they almost always have an answer, and if theyre not sure, they get back quickly with one from a manager or another knowledgeable employee. The selection is amazing. Theyve built this place up so much in the last 10 years and have done an incredible job. Its not the cheapest place to buy but still very fair. In some cases they are the cheapest. If you live within 50 miles of this place, its worth the trip. No, Im not the owner nor an employee. I give credit where its due.
Very professional. Good selection of fresh water.******EDIT********Yeah, after two years of their bad attitude Ive given up on them. Theyre too small and too busy to get good service.Enough with the eye-rolling already. If someone asks you a dumb question its because they dont actually know the answer.....YOU DO. You get PAID to answer questions; dont act like it causes pain.Youre selling fish for crissakes, lighten up Francis. Now I go to Atlanta Aquarium in Duluth. Nice people. Mom and pop place. No attitude.
This is the absolute best aquarium store in the state and I know. I have been to most all of them. HUGE selection with outstanding staff and service. It doesn’t matter who you talk to they all have the answer. You can stand there and ask questions about every single fish in the store and they will take the time to talk about each one. I have sent every single one of my co worriers and friends there way. If you go anywhere else but here to buy fish for your aquarium you’re making a mistake. Premier aquatics is the Target or Neiman Marcus. Every other aquarium store is a low class Walmart (no offense just a fact)
Pros: good selection of fish and corals.Close by if you live in MariettaCons: Way Overpriced compared to other fish stores. Uneducated staff that will try to sell you on anything they can make commission on!Overall assessment: i will only shop at this store to buy water if I dont feel like mixing my own, or I will get my water checked if its an emergency. To give everyone an idea of just how Overpriced this store is. I bought a long tenacle anemone at nemos (fish-store in Duluth) for $60! And premier aquatic wanted $180 for their long tenacle anemone which wasnt even as big as the one I got for $60! If you are thinking about doing some heavy spending. I urge you to go drive up to a nemos location and do a comparison. You will literally save hundreds if not thousands of dollars and also get bigger, brighter and healthier coral for cheaper! Sounds too good to be true but its not, stop overpaying! Premier aquatics coral and fish are 3 to 4x more expensive than nemos. The only people that shop here have more money than sense.
Great store! One of the best aquatic stores with a quality of selections of fish hardscape material in metro Atlanta. Wonderful friendly helpful staff. They are very knowledgeable on all things associated with aquarium hobbyists. Highly recommend this store over any other. Dont go to Petco or petsmart go here its much better
Thia store is awesome. If you want to see a wide variety of fish this is the place to go for sure. The staff is awesome and super knowledgeable. The onnnllyyy thing is they are EXPENSIVE. You will find fish they dont have anywhere else in the Atlanta area so you gotta pay to play. Worth a visit no question
Amazing customer service! Im so happy and grateful Ive found this gem! Its worth the long drive!I have purchased all of my fish from them. Very healthy and hardy fish, all of the employees have been very knowledgeable and helpful to me. It brings big joy to me to know that help is just a phone call away when I need reassurance for my fishy friends.I highly respect and appreciate all of the knowledge and guidance that this local fish store has provided to me. I will be a loyal customer and plan to only purchase my fish from here. Thanks so much!I highly recommend premier aquatics!
I recently got into the hobby of having a salt water aquarium. I went to all four fish stores within my area; the farthest one being an hour away. Out of all of them, Premier Aquatics had the best selection. However, it wasnt their selection of fish nor equipment that made me inclined to write a review, but it was their customer service. I have now gone to the store a handful of times. Each time the customer service has been exceptional. Even when I have questions, Ive called the store and still have nothing short of exceptional customer service over the phone. Dava and Marcie are top notch representatives who have helped me both in person and on phone countless times. I havent ever felt like they are trying to sell me but have my best interest. They make sure to not only answer my questions, but go out of their way to help me and make sure I am well taken care of. If you are looking to get into this hobby, please do not waste your time by going to other fish stores; go to Premier Aquatics. This is the superior fish store in the metro Atlanta area for their large, unique selection but more importantly their staff with exceptional customer service.
I’m in love with the variety of fish, the top quality of the available products, and the customer service. However, we are almost a year into a pandemic and they have employees who don’t wear mask -all through the store. I understand medical issues can be a problem, but such a compact store should be doing the bare minimum of enforcing mask to protect their employees and customers.I’ve since tested positive after my initial visit
Outstanding customer service!!!!!Outstanding products including the latest aquatic equipment! There are excellent choices for wood and stone hardscapes including a variety of types and sizes.!!! They do remote services too! They also have YouTube videos under their store name
I havent been to Premier Aquatics for a few years simply due to proximity but I found myself on a mission to find a very specific fish and Premier Aquatics was the only place within a two hour drive that had what I was looking for. When I explained my situation and let them know that I would be in that same day to pick up the fish, they were kind enough to hold it for me.When I arrived, I found the fish rather quickly and he looked to be in great shape.Several weeks later and hes grown and seems to be happy in his new home.If youre ever in the area, stop by and check them out.
This local fish store has a large selection of livestock, probably larger than I’ve seen anywhere, but their prices are pretty high. Not only that, but I recently moved to Atlanta from Virginia and didn’t have time to make all fresh RODI and mix it so I picked up water. 5 buckets and all 5 were yellow in color with debris floating around. I wouldn’t personally go again.
Every time I come in here I’m more than satisfied with the selection and health of the fish and tanks. I came in recently and someone helped me figure out what plants would survive in my tank, really knowledgeable staff unlike Petsmart/Petco. The prices are pretty high on average, but there are definitely affordable options in regards to fish and plants. I have one question, why does it seem like there’s always 25 people working at once? 😂 haha It’s kind of funny the store isn’t big.
We always love going into this store. Most times leaving with way more than we went in for. We pass 2 other aquatic stores just to go to this one. Employees are always helpful and you never have to wonder where an employee is cuz they have plenty of them. Weve never had a quality issue or any issue for that matter out of anything we have gotten from them. Corals are always happy looking when I look around and yes, I do heavily inspect before I make a purchase. Highly recommend this establishment for all aquatic needs Fresh or Saltwater!
Very very clean tanks and beautiful selection of fish. There is no ick in sight. The manager is very friendly and willing to help. Bring in samples of water too and theyll test it!They have a beautiful koi pond as well in the front of their building. They do well with keeping the shop clean, organized and do well with regulations. Completely recommend to get your fish and tank!
By far the best selection of fish and supplies I have been to so far. If I had more money I would pull the trigger on a large salt water tank. In the meantime I got some great advice on establishing a planted tank. I plan on going back whenever I find myself in Atalanta.
This is the best local fish store in the metro area. They have exactly what I want and when I need it. Ive been shopping at this location and the previous one for a decade. The plant selection is phenomenal and the staff is very knowledgeable. The best thing is they give store credit for plants and fish that no longer fit your tank style.
I have 2 close privately owned fish stores near me, and wanted to see what others in the Atlanta Metro Area had to offer. This place was recommended on a Facebook post I had seen and decided to take a trip to check it out. When I got to the door there was a sign outside saying to wait for someone to bring you in, and in parentheses they mentioned trying to stay 30 minutes or less. I figured it was because of Covid and that they were taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of their staff and customers, which I can definitely get behind and understand. At least I thought that until I walked in and saw the majority of the employees did not have masks on. That was a little off-putting considering on the outside it seems as though they are being very cautious and then when you walk in it’s like they don’t care and they have the sign just for show. I don’t have any saltwater tanks, but their variety of saltwater looked pretty good. It was their freshwater that was disappointing, and of course that’s what I was there for. There was at least one dead fish in almost all of the tanks. A few tanks also had ich as well. I wouldn’t have thought too much of it had I not known what a quality fish specialty store looks like. The store I frequent would never leave dead fish in their tanks, and they quarantine any and all sick fish. It wasn’t like there weren’t plenty of employees that could take them out, they were all just standing around talking to one another and a few were attending to other customers, but no one was removing the dead ones even when they had the time to do so. That’s the quality I expect from a chain pet store, not a store only focused on fish. At the store I go to I saw a guppy that looked like it was having a swim bladder problem, so I mentioned it to someone and they took the fish out, put it in the back with an air stone and kept a close eye on him. That’s what I expect from a store like this. They have plain old mollys, plattys, some not so special guppies, glo fish, average bettas, etc and don’t get me wrong they do have some other really nice fish as well, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again unless you are looking for big fish or cichlids. I have to say, their selection of cichlids was impressive, and if I needed any of a decent size I would come here for those. They have a ton of tanks and equipment and it’s all Fluval and Seachem. They have cool driftwood but it’s not very easy to look through, and the store near me has the same thing for the same price or less. The live plants were really lacking and I was severely disappointed by the selection since I saw a picture of the tons of cups they had of live plants on their Facebook, but I guess they no longer carry those. They don’t have a big selection of live plants compared to my local store in Duluth and that was truly the main reason I came here. Overall, it wasn’t a great experience. If anything, this store showed me how great the ones near me are, not only because of quality but selection, price, and customer service.
Came up to Premier Aquatics from McDonough, so it was a bit of a drive, not really needing/wanting anything (yet). Wanted to check the store and and see what they had. I was really impressed with the selection and the staff. The staff kept checking on me to see if I needed anything, and the selections of fish, tanks, decor, water additives, and foods was amazing. I was really impressed most by their large selection of rocks and driftwood. I will definitely be coming back when I need to pick things up.
We drove over an hour to check this place out and can I say we were not disappointed!! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. We could have spent hours in the store. We were actually in the store past their closing time......we didnt realize that until we left because we lost track of time looking at all the fish :) Even though we were there past closing the staff never once made is feel rushed or unwanted. We bought some beautiful new babies and they have been wonderful additions to our tanks. Ross was super helpful and such a pleasure to talk to. He was a great help in making sure we got just what we wanted. We cant wait to go back and see what else we can find. Everyone should check this place out. One of the best places we have been when shopping for fish for our aquariums.
Were visiting from Roanoke, VA and stopped in on a whim. Jakob was professional, knowledgeable, and took time to thoroughly answer all of our questions. All of the staff that we interacted with were pleasant and welcoming. We picked up a couple dozen cherry shrimp and some excellent advice to keep our nano planted shrimp tank happy. I wish this shop wasnt so far away!
Premier Aquatics was actually the second aquarium store I visited to start my saltwater tank hobby. The difference in the facility and the staff was so dramatically different that I am still angry I ever went to that other place first. Ive not experienced skillful customer service like this in a while. Nowadays, its actually quite refreshing. Every silly, beginner question Ive had has been cheerfully and expertly answered. Most of the time the answer starts with well, in my tank at home.... This tells you the folks here dont just sell it - they live it.Premier Aquatics is the perfect example of how you should run a business.I now have a monthly home service package for my tank - and every time a tech comes, they bring a MasterClass with them. Today my tech told me about ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites. All I could do was nod and try and soak up as much as I could.Premiere Aquatics is a standout business - from their amazing store to their amazing staff. If you go anywhere else first you will see the difference when you go there.
Store is always nicely taken care of and clean. They have a huge staff, even on weekday evenings there seems to be 5+ employees in the store, so getting help is never an issue. The staff is very friendly, saltwater selection is usually pretty good and they have a nice coral variety. Biggest downside is the livestock prices for saltwater are quite a bit higher than every other local store. Some fish are nearly double the price of other LFS for a smaller fish. That is the reason I give it a 4*, otherwise I have no complaints.
Today my wife and I returned to your store because we love this store and your staff. We recently moved an hour north but there was no discussion where we would go for help. In the past we only had a 3 gallon Fluval tank for my office. Our kids surprised me with a 90 gallon used aquarium. Needless to say we were way out of our comfort zone. Most of the equipment was old and outdated. Cara greeted us at the door and asked a few questions. Moments later she returned probably because of our OMG what are we getting into look. I had done some research on a canister system which Cara showed us. Thankfully Cara asked did we have any photos of the tank which we shared. She immediately noticed it was a sump pump system. Never ever heard of that before. Cara was extremely patient with us and understanding at the same time answering several questions by other staff coming to her for help while helping us. This is exactly why we love this store so much, incredible selection of fish and equipment and a great staff. Thanks again, see you soon.
Amazing shop! Have been coming here since before the recent remodel (which looks fantastic) and wouldnt go anywhere else. Staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and the shop has a huge variety of fish and equipment. Best aquarium store Ive been to by far - could not recommend more!
Ive been to alot of fish stores but never one as well maintained as this one. Ross helped my boyfriend and I out with the many questions we had and was very well educated. 10/10 would recommend this store. I saw very, very little dead fish, maybe one (this is inevitable) but you get the point. No fin rot either. If youre going to spend a boat load on fish and supplies, like me, take your business here.
This place was awesome. Lots of knowledgeable staff and a huge range of products available. Largest selection of cultured aquatic plants that Ive seen in the area. They have a wide variety of both fish and plants and more importantly, lots of different ages of fish. So if you dont want to wait the four years for them to grow to a certain size, you can have your tank looking its best right now. The fish looked to be in good condition with no visible signs of health issues and the individual tanks were kept clean. They also have a rather large Koi pond out front and provide pellets to feed them. Overall it was a great first experience. Prices were a little higher than I could probably find online, but youre paying for the location to see everything firsthand and the hours of Google searching I didnt have to do by having someone there to answer my thousand and one questions.
Previously, my review of this LFS has been 1 star due to the high prices and unhealthy fish. Several days ago, I was going to go see a movie near Premier. I was curious about their current selection, so I decided to drop in, expecting to go home ranting about how horrible my experience was. I was astounded at what my inquisition revealed. They have significantly dropped their prices on fish and all of their fish were well cared for, happy, and healthy. They have a fantastic selection and their coral table was one of the best I have seen, especially since they are not a saltwater specializing store. The staff was friendly. In fact, the only negative thing was the tank prices, which were overpriced, but most people are not going in to buy the tank. I would also like to comment on their cichlids. They have some of the most stunning cichlids I have ever seen in my years of fish keeping. Now, I do wish they were in bigger tanks, but their colors were visually stunning. I therefore change my review to 5 stars as this fish shop is a sight to behold even if you are not financially invested in the hobby.
Great store with friendly employees and Knowledgeable. But the store’s prices are too much. They also have a lot of sick fish. But if you see an item you want, check on amazon as well. Some of their stuff are double the price. Example: their co2 tanks, regulator and plants. Are doubled in price. Amazon had them half the price. They do have some rare fish though, so it’s highly recommend that you have a quarantine tank for all the fish here.
Love this place, would recommend any aquarium Hobbyist to take a trip here and browse the wonderful selection and variety here. From blue and green Phantom Plecos to Snakeskin Gouramis to beautiful hammer corals. You name it, they got it and if they dont Im sure they would gladly help you get it.
Today was first time I have been in Premier Aquatics. I really enjoyed the store. They have everything that you could possibly want and more! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! I had a 29 Gallon aquarium and I wanted to do a community tank but not have a lot of live barers. I end up leaving with four fish: 2 tigerbarbs and 2glo tetras. Loving watching them zip around the tank. Will definitely be back I really enjoyed the store even with the social distancing measures. They let 15 people in every 15 minutes which I could appreciate!
Awesome collection of fish, coral, and products. Although I shop at multiple stores which I also rate well. This facility has also shown me great customer service, great product knowledge, and overall experience. Thank you and the staff that you hold. Jason, Brittany ( the tiny one ), Marsi are the bomb !!!! Ask for them. You wont be dissapointed.
1st time visiting this store. They have very beautiful fish. I was looking for African cichlids and I believe I will be back for more. I purchased 4 today and my daughter and I love the selection we had to choose from. Some items are pricey but its fine with me. Ill only pay for what i can afford. With that being said, thx and well see you guys next time.
Nice store, big selection. I’m worried about the conditions of some of the fish. The bettas were in murky water and several were sick. :(The staff member i worked with seemed unconcerned about this or ich being pointed out in community tanks. “Oh nature will run its course” was the response a staffer gave about ich. Horrifying. Sick fish should be treated! I don’t understand how this response is possible. It made me really shocked and sad.The betta i took home was indeed quite ill and almost died a few times. Living creatures deserve better than this! After several rounds of medication, and time, he’s finally stabilizing.I want to LOVE this store. If the bettas are treated right (water changes!) and sick fish are medicated, then I would give 5 stars.
Absolutely my favorite fish store in Atlanta area! They have the friendliest and incredibly knowledgeable staff from beginner care to expert!Their prices can’t be beat on coral, fish, or equipment. Really enjoy coming here instead of dreading to goto another shop. It’s become a place I goto every week and will continue to support them just because of how awesome the people are.Stop in and say hey I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
Beautiful store with a wide selection of products, definitely not cheap. Me being a goldfish lover i wouldnt recommend the store if you are in the hobby of keeping goldfish. Very small selection of goldfish, that werent the best. Looking for Saltwater, and other freshwater fish. This would definitely be the store for you.
I went in for African cichlids and they have a great selection of different sizes. Prices were cheaper on the same fish from another local pet shop I went that same day. Bought two fishes and are doing in my tank for the past two weeks thus far. They have a great section of salt water fishes as well. Very clean and they have a lot of sales people ready to help. Ive been there twice now.
Horrible experience. Miss marking fish and not honoring prices.... The mark up is insane compared to local competitors. Do yourself a favor and go to optimum aquarium in Kennesaw or creation pet in woodstock. Both have super high quality livestock, very reasonable prices, and fantastic staff.
This is a beautiful store, very well kept. However their return policy is ridiculous. I bring fish back with in 10 hours from purchase and I cant get nothing but an Im sorry and she kept insinuating I had jus started in the hobby😒 15years in lovey. 30 dollars down the toilet plus the gas to drive an hour. Why even have a policy? The 3 stars is for the up keep.
The people are friendly, prices are decent, special ordering a fish was a total mess and the fish isnt quite what I anticipated but they did their best to make it right. Ill go back, and do recommend them. Just stay on top of your orders because my fish was put out to be sold and I wasnt even told it came in.
Fantastic selection of salt and freshwater critters. Friendly, cheerful staff, and the tanks etc all seem to be kept pretty clean.Their selection of coral frags is worth going just to look at. Looking forward to getting back into the hobby with this place as my go-to location.
Premier Aquatics is by far the top lsf in the area. You cannot beat the knowledgeable staff, the selection of products, equipment, plants and fish. It is worth the drive and plan to spend some time shipping. So much to see and decide what to purchase.Weekends are busy and that is a great thing. The staff will not rush to just get what you want, but will take the time to treat you with respect and make sure you have everything and that all you questions are answered.
This is a good store. Its been around a long time. I moved back to ATL and visited for the first time in 7 years. Quality seems to be the same. They have the neccesities for planted, reef, and African cichlids. Slightly pricey, but there arent many quality stores left in this market. Ill pay to Support them.
Usually love this place, and have spent LOTS of money in past. Today, I went in and the service was awful. Asked for help many times and no one would come over to assist me with questions that I had. Very upsetting, as I was planning on buying today. Left without anything, and will not be back. Very disappointing.
Visited Premier Aquatics because of a recommendation from a friend and had a great experience. The store was pretty cool and they have everything you could need regardless if you are freshwater or saltwater. When you first walk up there is a nice koi pond out front. Inside you are greeted by the staff and awesome display tanks. I probably spent a couple hours browsing the store and looking at everything they had.Jakub assisted me with buying substrate, a hang on back filter and some other items for my tanks. One of the things I really appreciated was Jakub’s knowledge and honesty. He gave me multiple options and explained the differences. He asked questions about my goals with the tanks and gave great feedbackI will definitely be coming back... and I live in Duluth. It’s worth the drive for me because of service, knowledge and quality. Would recommend this place to anyone.
I am a first time aquarium owner, I was overcome with this amazing shop! What is even better is the person who helped me, Patrick, who answered all of my questions thoughtfully and patiently, he was very nice! I bought a beautiful piece of driftwood and my first plant (this driftwood totally looks like a dragon skull)! 10/10 recommend, even for a newbie like myself. :)
Friendly service, and surely the place to go to get some exotic fish or plants. We will be back, even though it is quite a drive for us. Affordable drift wood and rock decorations for your tanks as well. We ordered a Ghost knife fish from them and within days they had the fish. Very kid friendly shop, they will give your kids some food for the koi in their beautiful pond.
Needed to get a Fluval replacement LED strip. Big box stores didnt have the 30 in, but Premeiere Aquatics did. Jennifer took care of putting the light on hold and we picked it up. The website doesnt do the store justice. Some of the coolest setups and fish varieties I have seen. Thanks PA.
Best selection of coral in the area. Even the freshwater guys are very knowledgeable about all things marine. Biggest, meatiest pieces of live rock, and a display tank worth more than whats left of what I owe on my house! No complaints other than they have a lot of worry freshwater tanks, but it could be for good things to come.
This is THE place for your aquarium and supplies in the greater Metro region. Only reason Im giving 4 stars and not 5 is due to parking when theyre busy; and believe me, they get busy, especially on weekends. Staff is attentive and extremely knowledged. And they are fully stocked with every SeaChem product Im aware of. If youre into the hobby and want to progress beyond pet shop variety equipment and supplies, do yourself a favor and see these guys and gals first.
I love this store, Ive gotten many big healthy silver hatchetfish and neocaridina shrimp from them over the past few months, some of the shrimp I got recently were already berrier when I brought them home and I am THRILLED to announce that I now have at least half a dozen adorable baby black rili shrimp!Edit 1-31-22: Addendum to this positive review, a few weeks ago one of my corydoras got a fungal infection that I didnt know how to treat because she lives in my shrimp tank, the staff recommended Kanaplex and instructed me on feeding, and my little lady catfish has made a full recovery and is now back with her boyfriends!
Best aquatic specialty store around! Jacob, Liz, and Brittany are very knowledgeable staff members and always have an answer to my questions. They get really busy and at times you must be very patient. Dont expect to get the McDonalds speed turn-around when you walk in the door on a Saturday afternoon. Ive seen plenty of patrons get frustrated and seem to take it personally, its hard to understand this trend. This is a specialty store with lots of customers excited about the hobby. Learn the dynamics of the store and staff and all will be well. Ive been doing business with them since 2009 and Im still am very pleased to-date. Their freshwater and marine environments are kept immaculate and Ive never once had a fish with disease or health issues from this store. Be sensible when price comparison shopping. Brick and mortar retail stores will always have a markup, they have to make a living. Immediate local availability of parts and specialty food has a value all its own. Comparing big box online retailers to Premier is foolish. Most of the time for big purchases the staff will work with you on pricing if you ask. Again, I cant say enough good things about Premier!
I am now returning to the hobby after a number of years away. Many of my favorite pet stores (With the Aquatic focus), are long gone. So when I search for something new, I thought, What the hell how bad could it be?To my surprise, things have changed and in a good way!!!! Premier reminds me of some of the shops long before Petsmart and Petco came along. They had a full stock of items for just about everything you can think of. As one who has enjoyed the hobby long enough, its always best to know where you can go to pick up a new filter when your other one dies in the middle of the night.I thought the price on some fish might have been a little high, but I also noticed, the tanks looked clean and seem to be well kept. Fish looked healthy so I dont mind spending $1.00 per fish for health. Its not right around the connor from where I live, but I can see myself visiting Permier.!!!
We visited this store a few weeks ago, wed called to ask if they had some dwarf puffers and they called back to say they did.We had to travel about an hour but boy was it worth it, this place has everything!A great range of freshwater and saltwater fish, drift wood, rocks, feed, plants, lotions and potions, we were blown away. This place is so well thought out in terms of its stock and attention to detail. The tanks are utterly stunning! Each one was a testimony, not only to the extremely high quality of care they put into their fish but their under water abodes also.Every one was aqua scaped beautifully! The staff couldnt have been more helpful and friendly, without smothering you as in other places. They not only gave me a male and female puffer but a male and female blue ram who have already had their first batch of eggs, unfertilized but theyre new to this parenting game.Getting home with our new additions to the family, we had no hesitation (after acclimating them of course) in putting them into our tanks. These fish were 100% healthy and cared for by a very knowledgeable staff team, were already planning another visit when we have some free time.Bravo guys, 5 stars.Update: turns out the white eggs we thought were unferilized were actually, we have wigglers!
Fantastic Aquarium store. I cant say enough good things about the staff, the available selection of fish and accessories.Premier Aquatics is Frys Electronics of Aquarium supplies and fish. You cant go wrong here and the staff actually know what their talking about.I highly recommend if your an aquarium hobbiest.
I was passing near the area and decided to check out the store. I have been thinking about getting started with the hobby but wasn’t sure where to begin. Patrick spent a good 30 mins with me going over saltwater fish and coral. He really took his time explaining and waking me through the steps. Thanks man! I’m really looking forward to starting my first saltwater tank. I’ll be back for sure.
There was only a single employee wearing a mask in the cramped store, and employees getting right up in peoples personal space with no distancing.Id be happy to come back and amend my review once this store actually protects its employees and its customers.I wore a mask (Im an ER physician) and I got weird looks from the employees.
Quality fish. They move a bunch of stock fast so you may have to revisit to get what you want. But what they do have wont die on you.Staff are friendly but arent as knowledgeable as Optimum.Again, actual live stock are high quality and you do have to pay for it. They tend to have the highest prices in town.4 stars, would and do reccomend to friends and strangers alike. If you have harder questions or a smaller wallet, Optimum is where its at.
I purchased a new tank and equipment from them about a year ago. I also paid them to maintain our tank. I have found the service to be terrible. The tank was never able to support fish for more than 3-4 weeks, and the service men never new why nothing could survive. I literally spent hundreds of dollars with no results, corals or fish to speak of.Additionally, the customer service manager is not responsive in a timely manner nor is he a problem solver. Now, the light that I purchased from them seems to have a bad ballast. I called the store, they told me there were going to hold a replacement light for me, and when I went to go and pick it up, it turns out that they did not have my light for me on hold after all. Thank gosh I called before driving out there. I do NOT recommend Premier Aquatics for their live fish, coral, equipment or ability to provide tank maintenance.
Did not have a good experience here, Wont be going back and glad I didnt spend my money.Ive been looking into breeding betta but I only want to sell to ethical stores, this is not what I found here. Might as well go to the petco and get fish supplies for them there. They were selling those cheap plastic princess tanks for people coming in for a quick buy for their kids. This might not mean much to some people or even the staff but if you properly educated yourself on these fish and actually cared youd know those are not at all suitable environments. Their disply for betta is almost abusive. Theyre on this tiny, very dark shelf, in rediculously small bowls, and it looked like one had recently suffered from fin rot. I was not pleased and knew I would not be willing to sell to this store. While we were browsing we noticed a fish being bullied in another tank. Apparently several of these fish jumped over and were being picked on, but the worst was this one who had tears on his fins and red spots on his body from being nipped at. I asked one of the girls to come over and to help the fish and she grabbed him with her hand and just tossed him back to the other side. She left saying she would be getting a little quarentine tank set up for him and we waited for a good 5-10 minutes to come back before we realized she was with another customer. The store was busy and understaffed but at this point this little dude was being picked in by his own kind and was looking seriously messed up. Im sure checking out customers is priority, but letting customers watch a fish be hurt and having dead and injured fish in a tank isnt a good look. It would take not even a minute to grab a bowl, put the dude in it, and take him to the counter until you get a moment to help him, just get him out of that situation. When I approached her again she seemed like she had never seen me before and she had no idea what I was talking about and was extremely dismissive. There was nobody in line at this point so she was perfectly capable of coming to help, she would not.I was pretty upset at this point so we decided to leave, except that it took forever because parking is so badly marked here people didnt have places to park. The result was somebody parking their SUV behind us making it extremely difficult to get out, I had to get out of my car to help direct the person next to us and my boyfriend out of the lot safely. Not a good experience and wont be going back. Im sure the store has its ups and it seemed fairly priced, but the products were questionable. Im mainly writing this review in hopes a manager will see and address this kind of behavior to the staff, that wasnt cool and was pretty distressing to watch.
This place is great. I am a freshwater aquarium hobbiest, but seeing all of the wonderful saltwater fish their extensive selection of invertebrates, coral and anemones they have almost makes me want to start a saltwater setup. Staff here are nice, and their prices are fair. If you are into the hobby, you owe it to yourself to give this place a visit.
Not a bad selection. Expected a bit more. Girl we spoke to really knew nothing about the fish there. Asked about attaining a specific fish, manager did not seem to care in the least. Not a bad place overall, but we drove over 2 hours to go there. Not worth it in that regard. Cheers.
I’m pretty disappointed from the lack of concern and/or knowledge that the owner of this business has relating to salt water fish and stocking. Why would you allow your customers to place Tangs in a tank under 75 gallons and allow them to overstock the tank and stress the entire tank. I understand it’s a business but you should care about the well being of the animals that you sell.
As a newbie, Im 4 months into my aquarium - saltwater tank, variety of fish etc. The staff at this location are amazing! They have helped me every step of the way and have answered every question. The tank is looking great. I did encounter some problems with fish issues -- and they were quick with advice -- it has been a great experience!
These guys are A+++! 😁 Im still a newbie and had TONS of questions! I had several employees helping me with different things and offering suggestions as well. I spent a lot of time going back and forth looking at decorations, substrate, different filters etc... the poor girl at the register rang everything up for me 3 different times due to my indecisiveness but the smile on her face never broke.Everyone was super helpful! Also the store was beautiful! They have such a wide variety of livestock, some of which Ive never seen before! My daughter loves the koi pond out front! They gave her a couple little cups of koi food to feed them. She sat there with my mom hand feeding these koi fish the whole time I was in the store. Looks like I might have a little future aquarium hobbyist on my hands.... or perhaps a koi pond hobbyist? 😂Long story short... if youre looking for an aquarium supply store, this is your place! No more Petco and Petsmart for me! 😜
I’m new to the Atlanta area and have been looking for a quality aquarium store. I’ve always kept 1 or 2 nano freshwater tanks and was blown away with the selections of live plants, driftwood, and rocks. There were several beautiful planted tanks to draw inspiration from. The staff was very attentive; I was asked several times if I needed any help. Ross was very knowledgeable and helped me select a couple of easy to grow Anubias as well as the proper fertilizer. I would definitely recommend this store, and as soon as my tank cycles will be returning for some nano fish (hopefully some chili raspboras)!
Bought 2 fish from Premier Aquatics and had a horrible experience. I brought the fish home and due to having just moved to the area, I havent had a quarantine tank setup yet (a mistake I wont make again). However it looked as though the fish they had at the store were healthy and I was willing to take the chance. Big mistake. After a few days, I lost HALF my ENTIRE stock of fish! After 2 weeks ALL of my fish including the two I purchased from Premier Aquatics died. Most of the original fish had been over 3 years old which is what makes me unhappy. Their fish had introduced parasites and ick. I wont make another mistake like not quarantining again.
There is this slim guy with a beard - probably the manager - hes absolutely rude and looks disinterested in everything. He had the audacity to tell me on my face that there is no fish here for you and left. After that nor him nor his staff bothered to check in with me for 20 mins. I wanted to buy fresh water fish but I left. Ive been here several times to this place and after buying a lot of things such horrible treatment. I used to love this place and I rated it 5 stars previously. After today I give them 1 star. Im not visiting this place again
I almost went to a generic pet store and am glad I went here instead. The fish selection was massive and the staff was assistive and plentiful. They knew which fish I should get together and how many fit in the tank. Ill definitely be back to get more when the tank is ready
I priced an aquarium with this store and had the price in writing. I went to the store 3-4 times after this while shopping around ensuring that the price was still valid. Last week I went to the store and told them that Id be back to purchase it today at thr agreed upon price. Fast forward to today when going to purchase the tank the price increased by $600. The reason for that was that I was quoted with a different stand they said but every vist it was confirmed on the exact stand and tank. I was told that they cant honor the price that was quoted or the stand that they quoted it for. It felt like a bait and switch. The other issue was on my last visit before going to purchase I was told that the delivery is $1 per gallon but this week I called and as I was going to purchase and have it delivered and was told its $2 per gallon so I said Id pay and pick it up over the weekend. That $1 increase might seem insignificant but on a 210 gallon aquarium its a $210 increase.Update 4/8/18I was contacted by the store this morning and was told that they would honor the price which is great.Update 4/12/18I now have the tank and stand in my possession. Im thankful that we were able to remedy the issue and looking at geeting another 210 assembly.
I used to love this place, they were in my neighborhood before they moved. Their prices, however are outrageous - a real ripoff. Cant really say much for corals or for saltwater fish, but their tanks and other equipment are priced for fools who dont know better (myself included, up to now). I went to store today to pick Maracyne Plus (where they were listed as a distributor) but they did not have it (only two medications ???? Optimum Aquatics blows you out of the water, palls). Having ran out of the testing strips and having a sick fish at home, I bougth a 25-pack of 6in1 strips for $16.99 and a 25-pack of Ammonia strips for $19.99 (both by Tetra brand). I needed those strips and had to have them (albeit I could have picked them elsewhere w/o driving out there), but when I checked the price on Pet Solutions. com, both sets of strips were $9.99 each. That means that for $20 worth of strips, they got me for $17 worth of profit. Thanks, but no thanks. After 10 years of coming there and spending more than $1200 in tanks, equipment and live fish, I am gone. Hello Optimum Aquarium and online equipment vendors. Would give 0 stars if I could.
Lots of inventory and staff seemed friendly but I was put off by the number of dead or dying fish in the tanks. There was even a dying koi in the pond in front of the store. Not what one wants to see in the local fish store. They were just adding new livestock to the tanks so some may have been transport related. May give them a second try in the future.
They stock a few hard to find species of fish and plants, but their prices range from iffy to insane, even when compared to other local fish stores. $15 for a 250ml bottle of water clarifier and theyre selling tissue culture plant cups for $20, which is more than twice as much as Ive seen at other places close by for the same species. Many things in the store arent price labeled for this reason and they hope you dont notice the 120% markup at the register. Most of the employees just seem like kids who wandered in for a job. No advanced knowledge.
Ive been around to most of the aquarium stores in the greater Atlanta area, and if theres a better one I havent found it yet. This place is wonderful. Great for marine tanks and freshwater planted tanks. Everything you need. Extremely knowldegable, helpful, and welcoming staff. You can tell they know what they are talking about, but they arent know it alls. Welcoming of all hobbiest levels.I live on the west coast for years, where aquarium culture is much bigger, and the store are world class. This place would fit right in.
Great place for all you aquarium needs. The experts here really know their details and are extremely helpful in making sure you choose the right fish & other products for your aquarium. Highly recommend going here over the big name stores like Petco/PetSmart, I know I will be for all my new aquarium needs.
I am a DISABLED VETERAN I called on Friday and talked to Liz she was the BEST person anyone can deal with. I went in on Saturday met her face to face. I had tanks 18 years ago and used FISH STORE AND MORE in buckhead. After seeing this store and her looking after me I WILL GO NO WHERE ELSE!!SHE NEEDS RECOGNITION AND RAISE I never felt more at HOME.
Native of Chattannoga, made a trip to Atlanta for doctor visit. Love fish so I thought I would stop in and see if they had anything I was interested in. They did, I got a pair of fancy guppies for my grandson, stainless steel tongs, bumble bee coby, dwarf gourami, frozen food, mini crabs, stone cat, ember tetra and a rock. Took the lady approximately 20 minutes to ring it all up. $177.43. It was getting late, my wife had been in the car waiting, I-75 traffic was getting really slow, needed to get out of there. Arrival at home I found they had changed me $25.00 per pound for the rock which was 2.9 pounds. NO WAY! Im not a tight wad I have spent a lot money on this hobby. If it had been live rock you pay more, it was not.I called them and ask if they charge me the wrong price. They never said yes or no. I told them I would like to return it. They tell me the only way they can accept a return is if I get back in my car and drive 98 miles and personally hand it to them with a receipt. I suggested I ship it to them by UPS with a copy of the receipt. The answer was not kind, or professional, just NO. I go to Atlanta at least 4 times a year and had hope this would be a good store. But to use their own word, NO! This is a sad example of how people get so focus on money they completely forget compassion, kindness, fair compromise, not to mention REASONING. What did the bible say, Come now let us reason together. The two aspects of Premier Aquatics that accentuate their store name is Selection and Profit. Not just a reasonable profit but greed is the motivating purpose of such poor customer service.5/5/17 Update I am upgrading my one star review to 4 now. Today the manager of sales called me and advised he personally had review the transaction and found I was correct in saying I was over charged for the rock. He also found another error and graciously applied a credit to my card for the amount of both errors. I give Christopher 5 stars, I give Avery 5 STARS and of course you know the two ladies who did not know what they were doing brought down the total score to 4 stars. Thank you Christopher for stepping forward and taking care of the customer. Most likely I will return to see Avery.
I understand COVID procedures, but to deny me access because I didn’t know exactly want I wanted to buy... Been to several different fish stores recently and still recieved some service and was allowed to buy the things I wanted. Just a bad experience, Terrible customer service.
Great Place !After having tropical fish for years I decided to take the plung and get a saltwater aquarium. Not knowing much about it I went to the store and got a education. They took the time to explain everything from the basics to how to adjust the ph and even explained to me the proper procedure to acclimate a fish to the new aquarium. They even suggested what fish to start off with and made things pretty simple !Worth the drive to Marietta
Such a great store! The have 1-2 grow plants which are terrific starters, and the fish are hilariously social. I mean that as a hobbiest but seriously, these folks know their fish and interact with them. For example, I wanted a bit of pennywort and before she put her arm in the tank, the assistant looked at the freshwater puffer and goes, now, youve been fed today, so dont bite me! Then she distracted it with a bit of shrimp and gently but swiftly pulled the potted pennywort right put! It was a true show of skill, not just hilarity. And thats why I retur: these folks are not just selling stuff, they are tending and cohabitating with their friends.

2022-03-20The staff here is extremely helpful! We added a new frog, a betta, a live plant and decor to our 10-gallon tank with the expertise of those who work there. Thank you for jazzing up our aquarium!

2021-12-11My favorite local fish shop. Its about 30 minutes away from Buckhead, but worth the drive everytime. Great variety of freshwater and saltwater fish. Fish are well taken care of. I love the staff as well. Also purchased my 55 gallon setup from here.

2022-04-19Premier has 3 things which make it a premier place to shop for freshwater and saltwater aquariums, supplies and livestock. First is a great selection of plants, fish and inverts. This is not a big box pet store. Their focus is aquariums. Second is their inventory of high-quality aquariums and supplies. Lastly, and probably most important of all, is the knowledge of the staff. They will guide you toward having a successful and satisfying experience with the aquarium hobby.

2022-02-02Weve used Premier Aquatics to provide monthly service to preschool aquarium for years. In an emergency tank leak, they arrived super fast like the Batmobile! They are very reliable, knowledgeable, and the kids think theyre ROCK STARS! Highly recommend.

2022-05-20I know nothing about fish but always wanted a tank. These guys take great care in giving you the proper info and getting you to where you need to be. They actually would not let us buy any fish for two weeks until we had properly cycled our tank using their instructions. (We we’re very impatient lol.) Every time we go we learn something new. Tuesday nights are great to go as they usually receive their new fish earlier in the day.

2022-03-30Came in today to get my water tested to make sure it was properly cycled to add new fish, and with a store with about 6-8 employees, which were all on the floor working at the time, no one asked me if I was okay or needed help, but one person and that was Mike. Shoutout to Mike for his great customer service skills! He was very knowledgeable and he made sure my water was just right. He even answered some additional questions I had, but prior to Mike helping me, everyone just went about their business and didn’t ask me anything. Please, go ahead and give Big Mike a raise. He deserves it. I decided to go ahead and spend my money with Optimum Aquarium instead, because they provided me with the same customer service Mike had, plus their prices are extremely lower. Thank you again big dog!

2022-05-08We love this place. Hunter is super helpful and friendly. He guided us through the process of setting up our own tank and told us what we needed to know in order to have a successful tank.
