It was so good to be in a real photography store with expert people and excellent equipment, service and materials like film. For a professional photographer there is no website that can substitute for such an experience. Best of all I was able to hold and touch the things that I eventually purchased and will not have to go to the trouble of mailing it back and seeking a refund.
First experience was great! Knowledgeable, nice, decent pricing and I felt welcomed! Way way WAY better experience than I have ever had during any visit to Showcase Inc. and more than I could ever say for Frys. You dont need poor customer service and horrible pricing folks...just go here.
Great quality prints at good prices . And after 4 or so years using them for all my print needs I can still say they are the best in Atl. Gosh and how could I forget that is one of the few last strongholds where you can get studio equipment and supplies in person in the city .The team members get all the stars
This place is definitely more of a rental store. They have some pretty neat accessories though as well. There stuff is pretty close to the MSRP on most items. They also had some things that you wouldn’t find at places like Best Buy. The staff was super friendly. I would definitely take a look at this place if you are any type of photographer.
I could never understand why people get so upset when they dont get something right away and lack understanding. Ive ordered prints in the past and have gotten them the same day and sometimes needed to wait a day or two. So my advice is dont be lazy. Get your out of shape, junk food eating body in front of your computer and place an order with plenty of time. Not on the last day at 7 a.m and expecting to get them at noon. People are entitled to take lunches, machines do break down and life happens. So please dont let a dumb person who thinks the world revolves around their $16 order give PPR a bad rep. This location is what corporate America needs more of. Educated associates, who are more than willing to help and answer all questions. Always friendly and make you feel at home.
I sent my brother to pick up a couple of items from PPR. Kevin’s no photographer. Walking in, the place was busy, and he felt intimidated by all the gear for sale and rental. Kevin said, as busy as they were, every staff member he came into contact with was extremely helpful. The staff there are Pro’s, but they’re the best people you’ll meet in Photograpphy.
It pains me to give PPR 1 star. They came highly recommended to me by an industry professional.I was on a 2.5 week job at Tyler Perry studios and had rented spent over $5,000.00 with them. At the conclusion of my rental, I was returning EQ the same day I was flying back home. I dropped my EQ off and headed to the airport. When i got to the airport i realized i left my personal charger for my Canon camera in the camera bag that held the rented secondary camera. I called them back, letting them know about this. Their battery was marked and mine wasnt. I said, when they see my charger is it possible they could mail it to me? Carlos, said hell call me back about it (to which he never did).I then call back multiple times and the phone rings without going to VM or it just says call failed, or says this verizon wireless customer isnt available (son what kind of business phone do yall have?). I then finally get in touch with Carlos and he tells me I DiDnT SeE aN ExTrA ChArGeR sO I CaNt hElP YoU. I never in my life had to ask to speak to a manager but this time I did. Then Carlos tells me YeAh UmM mY MaNaGeR gAvE mE a HaRd No. Then i asked to speak to the manager again, the manager interrupted me as i was speaking multiple times, made excuses and so on and said i dont have time to talk to you about this i have other customers and he hung up.They said some of their items are marked and some arent. Problem is the charger they gave me was marked. So im here thinking ok theyll be able to tell the difference because mine is the unmarked one in my return order. And also when they are checking in the items theyll see Oh theres two chargers in here but they only rented one .Listen, I used to work in a major rental house (Adorama Rentals NYC) and MILK Studios (NYC)...I know the ins and outs of this business. And professionally, if someone spent multiple thousands of dollars on an order with us and accidentally left their personal item in a return, wed send that item straight away. Why?1) Because its theirs2) that client would most likely work with us again (which i was planning to) because we were accommodating and polite.PPR, step your professionalism up. Step your customer service up. Step up your strategic/critical thinking skills. The way the manager and carlos handled this simple.... situation was atrocious. I kept it super polite and then they caught attitudes because I wouldnt take WeLl i DoNt KnOW as an answer. If youre in the photo/cinema industries and from NYC or LA, be advised. It makes you appreciate Samys, Adorama, K&M and whatnot
I ordered prints online, had issues with ROES so opted for the online system. It was my understanding that if the order was in by 7:00am the turnaround was after 12:00 noon. (For regular prints) I called at 9:30am and the guy on the phone said they would be ready at noon, but to call first. I called at 1:00 and the guy said he could tell my prints were in the que but the print guys were still at lunch and to call back. The mistake I made was heading to Atlanta, I arrived at 3:00pm and my prints were not ready, I was told because I ordered glossy it would be a 24 hour turn around because they only run glossy in the morning, well if thats the case why didnt they print my order this morning? It seems the people on the front counter dont know whats happening in the print shop/lab, I had to change my order to lustre instead of glossy and wait for them to print them. Super frustrating and my first and probably last time using their print services. The online information doesnt line up with the face to face service.
Terrible customer service!!! I felt the energy as soon as he came out the door. They didn’t even want to let us in the store. (we didn’t even get to look inside) They asked us plenty of questions OUTSIDE of the store, & didn’t even once offer us to come in. So we just decided to leave Lol what kind of business is this ?
I cant possibly understand the business policy of requiring a Social Security Numbers on all applications to perform a background check REGARDLESS OF DOLLAR AMOUNT. I dont need to provide my SSN for a background check to rent a $30,000 car. Why on earth would I give it to you for a $1,300 lens, especially when you will have a hold on a credit card (checked against my government issued identification)?Only receive 2 stars for the very polite attitude of the individual who called me and asked for my SSN.

2022-08-09Great local shop for all your camera, lighting, and printing needs. Although these guys have been around for a while they just recently moved from their long time spot on 11th street to a bigger spot in west midtown. Ive been getting prints from here for years and also borrow equipment from time to time. Great knowledgeable service and wide variety of selection

2019-12-31This place is amazing! As someone who is not very technologically minded the staff here makes approaching each project I use them for feel more comprehensive and less intimidating. They are patient and kind. I enjoy working with them for both my rentals as well as my printing and have found them to be absolutely lovely and helpful on both fronts! I look forward to working with them on future projects!

2021-06-16Best in the business, everyone is helpful and resourceful. The prices are great! Never had an issue! I’ve been a customer for more than 8 years, and will always be as long as I’m a photographer!

2021-04-01Review for the studio space.Welcoming staff. Clean. NOT FOR VIDEO WITH AUDIO. I record audio, there is no baffling, the retail space or office is near, 2 thin uninsulated load in doors.... Not good for audio. I think this is more suited for photo shoots.

2019-10-20Fantastic camera store and rental facility... Johnny and the crew are always helpful and go out of the way for their customers, including one time, I was shooting atop a building in downtown Atlanta for a client. Called Johnny for a product, paid over the phone and he has someone bring it to me. Now I am sure they dont do this every day, but this is the type of place I love to do business with.
