Positive: Location only Negative: Stains everywhere even the curtains. No shower curtain. Water pooled and ran off the sides of the tub when using the shower. Shower knobs we¿re loose in the wall and went round and round. Skeleton staff obviously over worked but very kind but strugglin
RUN!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! This was by far the nastiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The lobby was hot, there was no elevator and the stairs leading to the rooms were filthy. The hallways smelled of cigarette smoke. There was brown stuff running down the walls in my room. The bed covers had cigarette burns in them even though there was a sign that read “this is a non-smoking room”. There was a used cup on the floor that was left from the previous guests. The shower curtains were moldy. The bath towels had what appeared to be blood stains on them and they had hair all over them. The housekeepers were very sketchy acting and used profane language in front of guests. To top it all off, the water in the pool was green. I highly WOULD NOT recommend.
Well, there was no elevator, the pool was closed, there was no complimentary breakfast even though we were told when we checked in there would be one. People slamming other hotel doors at all hours of the night. There was mold on the shower curtain in the bathroom, a big red stain on the carpet, a beer bottle cap on the floor, there was hair under the covers of the bed, half of the outlets either didnt have covers or didnt work. The lights on all the lamps flickered, so you werent able to actually use the lamps. The hand soap in the bathroom was already opened. All this hotel is, is a central location for drug deals. The lobby worker in the morning was very rude. The only reason we didnt leave was because we had been driving for 18 hours and just needed somewhere to stay and couldnt find another hotel with any rooms available within 100 miles.
Unless your only other option is a damp cave, this hotel should be avoided at all costs. The rooms are fairly clean but youll be hard-pressed to find a working television or phone. Worse than the failed amenities, however, is the managements ongoing decision to let any kind of behavior happen, at any hour of the day or night.
Worst hotel ever and we travel a lot. The staff that treated us didn’t do so for 6 minutes after we walked in and was watching tv in the office part and was then rude to us both!!! Greasy spots wet to touch on the bedding, flat pillows, black mold outside of shower and toothpaste spit all over mirror and back splash no top on coffee maker and more thumbs down
The management was very rude, they charged my credit card hours before I checked into the hotel without my consent. The lobby was nasty and hot. The stairs leading to the room were nasty. The room was nasty, smelly, the floor had large stains, we had to cover the chairs with towels in order to sit in them. The bathroom floor had hair all over, the towels dirty and looked like they used them to clean the floors. The bedspread had cigarette holes in them. We had to purchase towels to bathe
Of all the hotels I have stayed in from choice hotels being that I am in elite member. This is by far the worst hotel yet. I booked online for a single king size bedroom and instead when I show up to the hotel the guy instead of being behind the desk is sitting on the couch on the phone with one of his friends gets up and tells me that the room I reserved is not available and the only room that they have available is two queen size beds. He said if I didnt like it he would be more than happy to cancel my stay. Of course I stayed being that this is the only hotel within a 10 mile radius. As I went to my room I noticed a number of things. First the pillows had no pillow cases on them I called the front desk and the front desk told me to come down and they would give me pillow cases to put on the pillows. Second the remote control for the TV did not work I called front desk and he told me to come downstairs and he would give me batteries so that I can replace them myself. Third I go into the bathroom to take a shower and the shower curtains have mold on them and finally fourth the sink did not have complimentary hand soap and also the pressure from the sink was so low I had to use the bathtub in order to wash my hands. I will never stay at this hotel ever again it is and has been the worst experience thus far.
Horrible place to stay. The rooms smell of cigarette smoke so bad that it is hard to breath in. The comforter has cigarette burns on them. Stained pillow cases. There were ants crawling all over the thermostat. The vent in the bathroom was dangling and missing a screw. There was also a wash rag that we had gotten that had clearly not been cleaned as someones make up was on it. Horrible Horrible place. Would not recommend.
Terrible people that don’t care about anything. Especially front desk workers. The gentleman that was working September 28, 2021 in the evening around 7 o’clock was very nice and helpful. But the person that was working September 29, 2021 in the morning around 11 AM is very terrible at customer service. He answered his cell phone while on the phone with me and told me to hold on while he was on his personal cell phone. I have not gotten a call back since this morning and it didn’t sound like he was busy at all. It’s some thing as simple as switching over a reservation or canceling it completely that I couldn’t get done & no solutions were provided.
Made reservations on june 1st for june 26. We get there and was told they over booked. Then came up with 3 rooms and of course more money. We found a cigarette butt under the AC. Freezer hadnt been cleaned in awhile. Got to stairwell and all you could smell was smoke. When we tried to get the extra charge refunded was told so many lies. Even tried to say he was going to charge more cause of pets. We had no pets. Then said we checked in early is why we got charged more. Card was ran at 4:03.
The hotel smells like cigarette smoke. They put air freshener in the rooms. To cover up the smell. Our bed sheets had cigarette burns in the top cover. When I woke up this morning. I could not breath my nose was stopped up. Everything else was fine. If you are a smoker . Then it probably wont bother you. Im not and now I have a bad headache.
This don’t even deserve one star !! Very nasty ! Man at the front desk was very rude for absolutely no reason. My shower curtain was covered in mold. My sheets were not changed and they was cereal under the beds. When asked for a refund he refused and didn’t want to give me the supervisor number. Absolutely worst experience I’ve ever encountered. When police arrived they said they get complaints everyday and there is nothing they can do about it. This place should’ve been closed a long time ago or new staff. Just absolutely ridiculous.. please save your time and money.
One of worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Mold on shower curtains, Holes in sheets, Pool water was green and not usable, and workers were not very knowledgeable or customer oriented. When asked for air spray for room as you could smell cigarette smoke the worker laughed as they seemed used to people asking for it.
Non-smoking room has an obvious smell of smoke. Then found splatter pattern of an unknown substance (puke?) on the bed skirt. When the lady removed it for cleaning, we could see it had splattered on the bed itself. Then found large patches of paint peeling, exposing drywall, in the bathroom. We were never offered a different room; they just kept trying to fix and clean the one we had while we were standing there. 😕
Very low water pressure, the hot water was almost to cold to shower. Maybe 90° water. No elevator, stairs only. Bad on the knees 3 flight of steps from 1st floor to second floor. One ice machine on the first floor. To much smoking going on inside the motel, could smell it down the hallway. Limited parking.
The room was half painted , the bed spread was holey from burns. The bathroom was moldy and the exhaust fan was hanging out of the ceiling. Not happy with paying $100 a night. I only stayed here because my father passed away and I had to make the arrangements. Never again will I stay here or recommend this place. No elevator.
The cleanliness of the bedroom/bathroom was bad. The sheets had stains on it. The bed was uncomfortable. My hip and lower back was in pain. The floor was filthy. The upkeep of the bathroom needs to be updated and cleaned. There were rust discoloration along the bathtub caulking where it meets the tile wall. The mirror was not cleaned properly as it had smudges. Lastly, I was given the figure for how much the stay at the hotel was and given a receipt as confirmation. The agreement of paid amount was taken out of my account that same day. I didn’t think anything of it until it was removed from my account before I checked out. Then a charge shows up on my bank account from this quality inn location for an amount that was not on the receipt. I was charged for some unknown reason for an extra $30. There was no reason for the extra charge and caused some issues with my own bank because of the amount taken out not being what it was suppose to have been. The food they were serving looked great but the eggs were rubbery and the smell that came with the juices was enough to make my stomach gurgle. The room was left the way it was when we arrived. I feel like I am being taken advantage of since options of hotels where I stayed at was limited to two options. Overall, I will not be back at this hotel even if they are my only options since I will be traveling to this location. I will much prefer to stay in a nearby town with better quality overall.
We had a non-smoking room yet it smelled so strongly of smoke all through the hallway and even in our room that it was miserable. It’s only 2 floors so they only have stairs which was difficult with two kids hauling all of our things. Also, multiple times during our stay when we stepped into the stairwell the smell of weed was HEAVY in the air.The entire hotel smelled like smoke, absolutely terrible.I am only giving it 3 stars because in general the room was clean.
Probably going to be the nastiest Quality Inn Ive ever stayed in. Honestly just had several roaches running across the table and over my pizza box. Carpet looks like they dont have any idea how to shampoo it. Sheets were full of burn holes. About the only thing that appears to be actually clean is the bathroom.
It was actually awful. We got a room for two nights. The first two rooms they showed us we wouldnt even stay in. The third room was not much better. The hair dryer was off the wall and placed on the towel rack. There was a crack pipe in the corner. The manager didnt seem to care. There was hole in the comforter and top cover for the bed and the vent in the bathroom was not connected. And the worst part of it all was there were roaches 5 that I say in the bathroom and killed . Unfortunately we didnt have the money to get to another place as they would not refund ours. What a terrible place stay at many hotels my husband is an over the road truck driver and this was the worst
Booked the whirlpool room with my points and it was only honored after paying an extra $25 per night. I used points so I wouldnt have too much out of pocket and still had to pay. Then it was located in the bathroom, not what I was expecting at all. I almost left bc my guy was coming in and we were celebrating his birthday but this place was close to where we both needed to be, because we are both truck drivers. I probably wont stay here again bc I hate rooms where the whirlpool is in the bathroom and if I booked that with my points it should have been honored.
Enjoyed my stay. Some things I liked about the stay: Safety, convenient to shops, close to my family I was visiting. Pleasant staff, nice room, good variety at breakfast. Some things I would recommend changes would be: stairs can be challenging when you are a senior, Wifi needs an upgrade, suggest recheck the linens used - maybe upgrade or replace those that are worn looking. I mentioned these to the staff, who were willing to check/replace what may be needed. Overall the stay was great. Will stay here again.
Structurally and visually this is the best location I have stayed in since becoming a member of Choicehotels in 2009.The parking lot was in very good condition. The Lobby was well lit, well appointed and comfortable. The rooms were odor free and in very good condition. The beds were comfortable and the A/C worked very well and did not have a moldy musty odor. The lights all worked and the bathroom was intact. Many bathrooms have mold growing and walls patched and leaky dripping faucets. The carpeting was newer and in good repair. The overall visual and function was outstanding. Again, the best location I have stayed on the east coast in 8 years. The down side was breakfast. There was no meat selection, the biscuits and eggs were hard. They ran out of paper plates and cream cheese for bagels. Orange juice was out and I did not see any milk for the cereal or to drink.I would definitely stay at this location again
I was not invited to leave a guest satisfaction review on the Choice Hotels website, so Im leaving this here. Its not a 5 star hotel for a reason. The desk clerk at check in was very friendly, but she did not program our keys for the correct length of time and they kicked off the following day as we came back to our room after a long, hot day. We were not given the code for the wifi. I called down to ask for it and he gave us the incorrect code. I dealt with the same desk clerk to get our keys reprogrammed and he acted both times like I was an inconvenience to him. No one is ever at the front desk. As a matter of fact, there is a phone on the counter with a sign to dial 300 if a front desk clerk is needed. I feel like thats highly unprofessional, especially because most of the time they were in a room just off of the front desk with a TV going. Im a desk clerk myself, and Im never away from the front desk unless I have to be.The stairwell farthest away from the lobby smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. On the second night, the stairwell closest to the lobby and the hallway outside of our room on the second floor smelled heavily of pot smoke. The carpeting in both stairwells are in need of a good shampooing. We went down to breakfast on the first morning, and that was the only time we bothered to go. Everything we ate was stale and it was obvious that no one was keeping food stocked. Only half of the toaster works. Dont know who the breakfast attendant was as we never saw one. This hotel does not have automatic doors. The property is not well kept, and Im not entirely sure how they manage to pass an inspection. Our room was clean and smelled okay, but many thing were in disrepair. There was a thin crack in the wall from the ceiling to the nightstand. Half of the electrical outlet by the desk works. The air conditioner wasnt putting out any air. Seeing as how we stayed during the hottest part of the year, thats not a good thing. I pulled the filters out of the unit and they were filthy. No wonder it wasnt putting out air. There was a hole in the tub. There was some spots that werent sealed at all, so good luck preventing water damage. It looks like whoever painted the bathroom flung paint on the back of the bathroom door.If I had paid more for this room, I would have been livid. Its definitely not worth $79+ per night.
I cannot comparison this Quality Inn with others of the same brand because I don’t recall staying at others. However, I don’t like hotels that allow smoking. Winder GA had very limited hotels. I would stay at this hotel again only if I could get a room on the first floor. The room was clean and adequate. The mattress and bedding were comfortable. Our first assigned room had a broken air conditioner. Fortunately, the very helpful manager was able to relocate us to another room. Breakfast eggs looked very unappetizing, so we did not eat there. The coffee was surprisingly good.
Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the accommodations. The room was clean and relatively quiet. Breakfast eggs werent up to my standard, but I raise laying hens... totally different. The staff was friendly and efficient when I needed them. If I have more work in Winder I will not hesitate to stay here.
There’s no elevator. Our sheets were dirty and stained with white stuff and fluid marks. The clerk instead of giving us clean sheets like we asked for wanted to move us from a king size bed to a double. He couldn’t find clean sheets and the room that he wanted to put us in had already been abandoned by the person who was going to stay there tonight because the sheets in that room were dirty too. The halls smell suspiciously like cigarette smoke despite the fact that it’s non smoking. This is my third horrible experience with this place. The last time they had to re clean the bathroom because it was stained with red stuff and vomit. The staff is incompetent and the hotel is dirty. Oh and Theresa screamed in my face when I was trying to find the charger that the cleaning staff removed from my room because she couldn’t walk 10 feet. She also made fun of my mental illness when I told her I was bipolar and her screaming was causing me a lot of distress and putting me on the verge of a panic attack she told me ‘bipolar is just a mood swing.” I have her on video doing all of this and I’ve sent it to corporate and I got a refund for one night and a half hearted apology. I’m disgusted with this place. Don’t bother the staff. They’re mean and don’t want to help you.
Im an older lady traveling alone and I felt safe and secure in both my room and the parking lot at night. My bedroom and bathroom were immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. I appreciated how quiet it was at this Quality Inn in Winder, GA because I could sleep undisturbed. (The walls must be well insulated, as the hotel was at full capacity.) Only two negatives: One: Without an elevator, it can be difficult for some guests to navigate the stairs to the second floor. Two: The complimentary breakfast is minimal and could be better with fresher pastries and a better fruit selection other than only apples and oranges.
I only try and judge a hotel on a few things...comfortable sheets, comfortable bed and decent towels. Everything else can swing either way and not really bother my stay. This particular Quality Inn not only fell terribly short of any sort of comfort. Poor sheets, stained with paint. Horrible bed and subpar towels. Plus, the hot breakfast could hardly be called hot; microwaved egg patties, a waffle maker and broken toaster. We cancelled our 2nd night because the 1st nights sleep was so awful. We didnt bother explaining this to the hotel manager, who was very pleasant, because the entire hotel seemed to be just a little bit run down. We wont be returning to this hotel, but hope future Quality Inns are better!
The staff was extremely rude to my family and I. We spent 3 nights at the hotel and got charged for 4 nights. When we called, the person on the phone replied by refusing to refund the 4th night even though on our receipt, it clearly states that we stayed for 3 nights. She then proceeded to tell us we could talk to the manager, but also said she didn’t know when he would come to the hotel. Her tone was extremely disrespectful and continued to say that she did not want to talk to us. Save your money and do not stay here. The staff are not friendly and you will be cheated out of your money.
I understand they are going through a remodeling process. Our room however, left a lot to be desired. There was paint splatter all over the curtains, bedspread and carpet. Even though it had a nice bathroom there was paint splatters all over the mirror and wall. The lamps were completely broken. Our bed was not very comfortable. It was very quiet and so that was nice.
I came in a little early to this hotel as I had a board meeting to go to and know I would not be back until later that night. The service desk gentlemen did what he could to get me into the room early and did. This hotel is very clean I went out and got my suitcase and other items and put them into my room, The room was very clean and comfortable for the few minutes I had to take a rest before I left to my meeting. When I got back and and was able to relax and go to bed had a great night sleep and was able to have a good breakfast they had. My over all stay for that day/nigh was worth staying at and the staff was awesome would recommend this hotel to anyone who visits here.
The room was nice. But the renovation is being done poorly. And I had a specific non smoking room. Smelled smoke in lobby. Made sure not to be by smoke. Had to put towels ar floor of door. The front desk just said they cannot control other people staying. Even though the entire hall was filled with smoke. Offered no help or solution
It is generous to give 2 stars. The AC unit kicked off and on every 3 minutes (and yes, I timed it). The microwave wasnt plugged in...because the cord didnt reach a plug. The refrigerator was cold but vibrated loudly for as long as the compressor was running. The beds were hard and the sheets, while apparently laundered, had stains, Blech. The carpets felt sticky and the floor in the bathroom was gritty. The best thing I can mention is the bathroom vanity was pretty.
Its clean and friendly and a good location. I stay here 2-3 times a year to visit my mother. The staff has always been accomodating for my request for a particular room. You sometimes hear the train come by but that is nothing the hotel can control. This hotel is convenient and close to anywhere in Winder. You enter through the lobby so it feels safer than the other hotel option in Winder that you enter through the parking lot.
This hotel stay was one of the worst I have ever had. We were in a non-smoking room, and the room smelled like someone had been smoking in it for hours. We did not smell it when we first checked in, and we left almost immediately for the afternoon/evening. When we got back at midnight, the smell was horrendous and there was no one at the front desk to speak to about it. The next morning when we went to speak to the front desk about it, the employee we spoke to (AJ), he immediately placed blame on the guests for smoking, claiming it was not his fault because he doesnt smoke, and that we should have said said something the night before (when there was no one at the desk...). He was extremely rude the whole time, never even making eye contact. Very dissappointing.
WORST EXPERIENCE !!!!Checked in and Allen was working. He had a bad attitude from the time I walked in the door.Hallways reaked of smoked. Beds and sheets were dirty. Checked my bank statement the next day and was charged 4 different times and 4 different rates. I only had 1 room for 1 night. When I requested the manager he said he didnt want to be bothered. Had to dispute the charges with my bank which takes a week being out my money because this motel is THIVES.... called quality inn customer service and was told the dont own the motel they can only forward my complaint to the same manager who didnt want to get involved. Run from these thieves as fast as you can
I don’t usually post reviews on hotels but I feel the need to have to give one. Stayed on the first floor and during my second night, woke up very early to see a huge bed bug right next to me. I demanded to change room but the guy insisted I wait til 8:00AM, for what??? I told him I have the hotel room checked for the next couple weeks, so that seems like the only reason why he changed my room.UPDATE: changed hotel on the same day. Worth it
Front desk personnel should be helpful with choice hotel questions. The two I talked too had no clue even when I corrected them about my member rewards # not being on my room they came up with a story. The day before they were fine.the longest check inn I have ever had. The pool is closed at 9:00 should be open a little longer just my opinon.
Very rude and disrespectful overnight desk clerk..got to my room and well some one took it late nap bed unmade spread thrown on the floor, I paid for a smoking room asked for ashtrays was very rudely told to use Acup, went to desk to get change and ice rang because thats what siwhen.he finally came made another very rude comment about why wasnt I asleep instead of bothering him when I asked where the ice machine because like everything else the refrigerator was broken too so I will not be going back any time soon if and when I do I will make everything is working and stocked..
This is an average hotel. It has not been updated. There is no elevator and we had to make multiple trips to carry luggage upstairs including our dog kennel. The pet fee is per night, not per stay. It is not entirely non-smoking, therefore you can smell the smoking rooms as you pass them in the hall. We had a non-smoking room and it did not smell like smoke. It is directly across the road from the railroad tracks. I heard the train, blaring loudly, at least once each night and multiple times during the day. It came by 3 times between 6 am and 10 am on the morning we checked out. The Wi-Fi was extremely slow and difficult to access. Overall it was average. Definitely not the nicest Quality Inn we have visited. Nothing was specifically wrong just not an exceptional hotel.
We stay here several times a year and have always enjoyed our visit. Rooms are neat and clean and the beds are comfortable. Rooms are quiet, we usually stay near the ice machine yet the hallway traffic doesnt wake us. Staff are very pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast selection is more than sufficient and the waffles are great! Coffee is pretty good too even though I am a fan of Dunkin Donuts coffee.Centrally located. We live in the country but the trains dont seem to disturb our sleep.*FYI: there is no place in Winder that you cant hear trains, its the history of the town.
Had a small issue with my reservation (on my end) and the clerk was very rude would not listen to what I had to say told me he would walk to the back and I can figure out what I was trying to do. Although Im not a hotel clerk and Im not sure of the hotel jargon he could have understood my issue and help me through it however he decided not to because he was frustrated. Also the hotel room itself is clean but the carpet has lots of stains and looks like paint splatter thank goodness Im only here a couple of days.11/30/2017
Good price we stayed a week. Breakfast is not so great waffles are the only thing fresh all else is microwaved. Rooms are pretty good they are clean. Bathroom was clean. The only reason for two stars is the employees are not very good front desk is the worst Ive ever seen as a traveling nurse I have seen it all but this one tops the cake. If you can get them to speak be ready as you are a real burden I only went three times check in I was never spoken to. Key didnt work he told me it was my fault and said he would reprogram card third was for same reason as he was giving me the card back he flipped it over counter to the floor. I did make him come pick it up. Lol other than this great place safe and secure. Pool was good also very clean. I would stay again as I rarely go upfront anyway.
Disappointing to say the least. At check in the person at the front desk was tied up with some phone call about a Best Buy purchase rather than expediting my check in. The stairwell and hall smelled to cigarette smoke the made its way into my room. The room was okay but dated. The carpet was stained by the bathroom
This is not a hotel I would stay in again. There was black mold in the bathroom. The front desk was great, and immediately moved me to another room. That room, unfortunately, had its own problems including a toilet that was not bolted to the floor; no shower curtain; and, the towels and sheets smelled of mildew. Wifi was also terrible. Too slow to even work.
The hotel was under renovations, but it would’ve been nice to know that prior to making reservations. Our room was on the bottom level facing the parking lot which made our room very bright. The curtain didn’t help keep light out from the parking lot/incoming traffic. Our room smelled terrible and when we complained they told us it was probably someone smoking skunk grass/weed. Terrible experience.
I am disgusted with how far this hotel has fallen apart. I have stayed here numerous times (at least 10) and never had any issies and usually was very pleased with the staff. However, this night clerk and the hotel manager; suspiciously both Mr. Patel, are absolutely appalling. The night clerk went as far as yelling at me to not touch the box of cereal in the complimentary breakfast area. I responded with Sir I am not a thief and I do not appreciate the insult and then, this man PROCEEDS TO FOLLOW ME when I am making myself a plate and he STARED at me claiming to make sure i knew how to use the machine so I didnt break it and he would have to fix it.When I asked for the managers contact info he told me no multiple times until I threatened calling corporate. Thats when he pulled out his personal phone and called the hotel manager. (His contact name was My Bro AJ...not much of a professional relationship) the straw that broke the camels back was when this manager said that the only problem he saw was that I broke his waffle maker an hour before. (My friend is the one who made our waffles, not myself)I am not sure if it is their culture or they are just 2 very disrespectful and u professional men.ALL THIS IS ON TOP OF HAVING TO SWITCH ROOMS AFTER CHECKING IN DUE TO THE ROOM STILL BEING DIRTY WITH TOOTHPASTE SPLATTER ALL OVER THE BATHROOM AND A PERIOD STAIN ON THE COMFORTER
I requested an early check in as I was traveling overnight. Upon arrival I was told I could not check in until 1300. I arrived in the state at 530 and traveled 12 hours overnight. The smoke odors were overwhelming. my carpet was never vacuumed. There was a fake leather chair that was peeling and the material was falling on the floor. these pieces of fabric stayed on the floor the entire week I was in your hotel. The rug was full of paint, stains and odors.Breakfast items never changed. The only juice was watered down orange juice.
Hotel hallway smelled like smoke. Suppose to be non- smoking. Room however did not smell like smoke. Room was not clean, stains on the bedding. Amenities such as the coffee maker was full of dust and who knows what else. Walls are paper thin. Biggest thing that annoyed me is I was staying for a business trip and needed to work from the Hotel at times. In the process of booking the hotel it was not once mentioned that they didnt have working wifi. When I brought my concerns to the front desk them didnt seem to care. From a business perspective it was very unprofessional. In the future will look for a hotel in Athens.
I wish I could get this place zero stars!!!!Upon arrival there is a pile of construction debris right in front of the front doors . I go inside and the whole downstairs is under construction. No one is at the front desk .Finally somebody walks by and I get checked in . The man tells me he’s give me the best room in the house . His exact words and they have just finished renovating the whole upstairs.Upon entering the room the first thing I notice is that the walls are not completely painted. The light switches are partially painted . The furniture is haphazardly arrange . And the drywall in the bathroom was not finish before they painted it .But none of this is the worst part of my stay. 12:15 am in the middle of the night somebody tries to enter my room. Thank God I had the security lock on . A minute after that somebody calls me from the front desk and tells me they have given me the wrong room.I had checked in at 11:30 AM and since I am here on business I mediately went to work . Who in the hell tries to enter a room that they know is occupied with a customer . Much less wakes that customer up at 12:15 AM with a phone call .Then he tells me it is their mistake and this room was reserved for somebody else . At this point I am fed up . It is now 1 o’clock in the morning as I’m writing this review. I am extremely upset and can’t go back to sleep after working in 19 hour day including travel .And to top it off a freight train just rolled by right across the street. Please save yourself the headache and the uncomfortable surroundingsstaying somewhere else . This place is a dump !!!!And run by incompetent people .
This property is absolutely disgusting. There is a horrible odor of cigarette smoke, huge stains all over the carpet, the hvac did not work properly, there is paint speckles on all of the furniture. Its seriously like the drug houses you see on TV. Dont be fooled by the pictures on the web site. I chose this location based on the pictures and previous reviews. The staff was friendly, the linens, towels and the room were clean (relative to what housekeeping has to work with) and stocked with typical hotel amenities and the bathroom appeared to be recently renovated. This review is in no way a reflection of the employees on site. My interpretation is that Quality Inn corporate/private ownership just does not care about the property. I strongly recommend finding another location to stay in the area.
This hotel was horrible! No elevator and I was on the second floor having to carry everything up the stairs. I am a single female and was offered no help by staff even though I was complaining loudly. The room key would not work and they did not get the issue corrected I had NO room key at all. Room was terribly hot and did not cool off, I asked for a fan and it was brought several hours later. My hand got caught in a malfunctioning vending machine that also took my money. They were booked up so I could not change rooms until the next day. That room was a bit better but some thing still did not work.
Clerk at the desk was awkward and unfriendly. Tune in the room was filthy and missing parts. Bathroom sink leaked so bad you couldnt brush your teeth without water ending up all over the floor. Room smelled strongly of mildew and at one point my husband and I discussed just sleeping in our truck.
Hotel lobby was clean and the continental breakfast was very decent. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was another story. Our bathroom was recently redone and it was actually nice but our carpet was pulling away from the wall and when we opened our windows, we were greeted with a rusted and abandoned storage building with a bicycle tire thrown on the roof, an apparently abandoned lot, and a gun emporium with barred windows across the street. I wasnt familiar with Winder Georgia but my first impression was do they film the Walking Dead here?. The pool was green and slimy (granted, nobody was out there but its still something that can be kept clean). I cant hold a hotel responsible for its neighbors but I wasnt impressed with my 2nd story view. Would I stay here again? Maybe if i had a room facing the parking lot.
Stayed here for a week for business , WORST STAY OF MY LIFE. On night one , I come to the hotel after working 13 hours and there were 10 men outside loitering just smoking and blaring their music. Then I go inside and get all the way to my room to find out my key doesnt work and my do not disturb sign is gone . I proceed to go to the front desk and get an attitude from some old white male thats bald on the top of his head. I finally get in my room and house keeping has moved all of my belongings, I put the do not disturb sign on my door FOR A REASON. Day two my key doesnt work , YET AGAIN. Then I have to go back downstairs to get attitude from the same old white man at the front desk. His response to everything was I dont know and I dont care, all I know is I got here at 3pm. The breakfast here is also disgusting. The only plus to this hotel was the male who checked me in. He was a male with salt and pepper hair. Thanks to him! I also informed him how bad the night service is. Coming into the hotel to find the staff relaxing in the lobby with their feet propped watching tv. NEVER WILL I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. The company is wasting their money on renovations. They obviously need to be worried about finding better employees first. 0/10. Do not stay at this hotel.
This hotel needs TLC. It is worn, tired and needs a facelift in the worst way. It did not appear too clean and did not smell very well. The staff was great, very helpful, friendly and nice. Was told there was remodeling and updates going on on the upper floors. Hope so. This is a small town, they need this hotel.
The staff is rude and the place only cares about is to fill every room there rooms suck for the price you have to pay and they dont change the bed sheets unless they are soiled and if you dont want to catch bed bugs dont go there..... the place has been sold multiple times and its the same manager and staff nothing has ever changed but the name on the building I rented a room right before they sold it and my kids caught lice from there and the bed sheets were so dirty they refused to give me my money back so be aware renting a rooms at quality inn at the winder ga location.....
Don’t know where to begin. After being on the road 11 hours for the holiday, checked in here for what was going to be 4 days. Got in about midnight. Room and entire building smelt like smoke, there was dried paint everywhere- floors, furniture, a complete mess!! When I called downstairs- front desk said: oh yeah that room has a little of paint on things. A little? Really, why would you even book the room then?!! He did offer to switch rooms in the morning-didn’t realize at that point i wouldn’t be staying. The view behind was of a storage building that had better days and the train tracks had to be on side or directly across from the hotel. At 4am the train came blastinnng!! The bed was like a board- I woke up and couldn’t move. The furniture had pet scratches all over. I looked behind the night stand- trash all over. Trash under the counter in bathroom..etc. Looks like they’re remodeling but the neatness and cleanliness was awful. We checked out as soon as we got up(stiff and tired) and checked in elsewhere. The front desk did ask was anything wrong since we were leaving earlier. Didn’t make any sense to explain in front the current people staying there as it could’ve been offensive to them. No way I could’ve made it another 3 nights; the smoke smell alone wouldn’t have allowed it.Our total was $90ish for the 8 hours we stayed- I spent an extra $20 and stayed in a hotel right By the interstate and was more than comfortable. The price here should be significantly lower and perhaps closing until all renovations are done, and a good dehumidifying.
To my surprise, this hotel was under total refinishing renovation. When I checked in, I was first assigned room #110, which had all the furniture piled in the center of the room and had the odor of fresh paint. I went back to the Front Desk and was assigned another room on the 2nd floor, Rm #205.Upon entry, the carpet first appeared to not have been vacuumed for some time. As it turned out, what I was seeing was paint spray residue from painting the walls. I later found paint spray and drips on the drapes, the bed valance, phone, clock, bathroom door, mirror and the luggage and clothes racks. most of which could be removed from all hard surfaces with a little soft-scrub. The clothing hook on the back of the bathroom door was missing, but the mount was there. The light switch cover plate had screws hanging loose and the faceplate for the outlet over the bathroom sink was missing. The mirror frame over the sink was smudged with paint and the full-length mirror on the door was mounted poorly. Some of the stays did not even touch the mirror. Only the weight of the mirror held it in place, but not securely. Additionally, the toilet seat was not secured to the toilet bowl. All of this punch list was reported to the front desk in writing over 2 days. All of the staff was considerate and addressed the switch plate issues, the toilet seat and the missing clothes hook. as soon as they were reported. As for the rest, this could not be addressed, as it appears that it looked like I was 1 of 3, or 4 guests at the hotel and the room options were rather limited. The room was clean, but with the paint spray and drips on almost every surface, it did not provide a good feeling. The strategy used in this project was poorly planned and executed. There also appeared to be no effort to do a punch list to qualify a room for release to a Guest. Additionally, in the hallway. there was a large section of wallpaper peeling off the wall under the window. It would not take much effort to glue it back in place to at least show that someone cared. If carpeting is to be scheduled all at once, it should be done one floor at a time. Providing for protection of the existing carpet during the painting phase would allow for better control and smoother transition during the makeover. This would also allow a more pleasant experience for the Guest and make it easier for the staff.I hope this is helpful and that careful consideration is made for any other scheduled efforts for this makeover. This experience was rather disappointing, to say the least. Unfortunately, my stay was at the wrong time. I know it would have been better had I booked after the job was completed, as the staff tried to do all they could within their means.
Nice large TV but beware that they charge extra $5 per night for using Rewards Points. They also billed my credit card for some bogus $76.47 charge. I had to call and get the charge reversed with no real explanation as to why it was there to begin with. Good thing I check my credit card transactions/
Lets start with the breakfast , hot breakfast eggs , etc. Were good , thats the plus. The room stains on the carpet , chair , desk chair appeared it hasnt been cleaned in some time. Cigarette burns in bed spread ,also on carpet. Sheets had black spots and dingy looking . Also room smelled like an ash tray. Personally I would not recommend.
DO NOT STAY HERE . Our light in the bathroom was hanging by wire nuts. There’s sheet rock missing from around the hvac unit , Oh I love this... it’s a non smoking room but the front desk clerk stands right In front of your a/c and smokes so the outdoor air coming from the a/c blows her smoke right in your room .( I might as well smoke in here) DID I MENTION THIS PLACE IS 107 a night . . One more little added touch I love the concrete blocks holding the side doors open . Also , carry a bunch of quarters if you want to use the vending machines . There is a dollar slot but it says clearly on the signed taped to the vending machine please use quarters.
The room was very clean and the breakfast was nice. The front desk clerk Carlie was very rude and disrespectful. She went to far with a simple conversation and even threatened us. I will stay again but they really need to address this front desk clerk ASSP. If not they will lose a lot of guests.
This Property is one of my favorites. You can tell when an owner puts a lot of effort into the property. Breakfast was ready every morning, housekeeping always there for you, well lit parking lot, quiet rooms..When you are in a motel, you need all of the above and these guys never let me down. Worth the trip to get here! Thanks All
I was really disappointed in my room quality. We had called ahead and said we would be checking in late. We walked in to a hot room with the a/c off. It took almost all night to cool the room off. The upstairs stunk of cigarette smoke. There was also no elevator available.
Got here and there were no rooms on the first floor and theres no elevator. Once in the room the sheets were covered in white splotches. Dan, the guy working the front desk tried to put us in another room, then couldnt remember if it was dirty or not so we looked at it. Someone else had already had that room and complained the sheets were dirty too. Then he tried to give us a room with 2 double beds. When we asked for new sheets and would change it ourselves, he acted like it was a struggle to get the sheets. Also there was a wad of toilet paper stuffed in the peep hole, cat food on the ground, and an empty rook of toilet paper in here. Have stayed here twice. Wont do it again. Jameson inn is down the road. Go there......I wrote this before I finished my stay. Theres more. Our phone charger went missing because it was in the bed and the sheets got changed. When we asked the night manager about it, she refused to look in the laundry room. She said someone else could do it in the morning even though we were leaving at 2 in the morning. She started screaming at us and still refused to help. Her name is Theresa. Shes a big help
WATCH THIS ESTABLISHMENT THEY USED MY CARD INFORMATION AND MADE A CHARGE FOR WHEN I WASNT EVEN STAYING HERE BE CAUTIOUS WITH YOU CARD INFO THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE!! MY ACCOUNT WAS CHARGED 2 DIFFERENT TIMES FOR A ROOM AND I NEVER STEPPED FOOT ON THERE PROPERTY BE CARFUL!!!!!
Horrible..house keepers left stained pillows on bed and when I complained the front desk lady asked if it would be ok to just put pillow cases over the stain pillows the Manger is just some young guy running around with a phone and LORD ALMIGHTY PLEASEEE look at their pool BEFORE you pay your money here it explains the whole standards of the property will never stay here again
The hotel is very convenient to Fort Yargo State Park, which is why we were in Winder. It was very clean and the breakfast was good. The pool is very small and there is a train that runs very close by and we heard it multiple times late at night and early morning. Staff was kind and helpful.
The hotel room was inadequate:1. a broken lightbulb in the lamp between the beds (dangerous)2. the temperature gauge in the refrigerator was dislodged (dangerous)3. the faucet in the bathtub was broken so the water once turned on, couldnt be shut off4. mold in the bathtub5. red stains on a pillow case, bed spread had holes, and stains on the shower curtain6. peep hole in the door was stuffed with tissue paper
Possibly the worst Quality Inn I have ever seen!Out side looks nice inside is horrible!Choice Hotels should be ashamed of this Hotel! The Bottom Tier for Choice is Roadway Inn and this wouldnt even pass for that! I have attached several photos.I was in Room 221 I am a Diamond Elite Member will h Choice and I will get a refund! $85 for a room worth $40 !
Housekeeping was very poor, room was filthy. Bathroom toilet was not seated and was sideways. Holes in the bathroom wall where the hair dryer was supposed to be, dryer was on the floor. Couldnt get wifi and called staff and they said there was wifi but didnt tell me how to get on it. Hotel check in was very unsatisfactory, acted like they didnt care if you were there or not. Counter person was unshaven and unkept, just like the rooms and hotel in general. We had other groups coming in the next day but we advised them not stay at this hotel.....Not a good experience for our two groups! Not a place you would want family to stay!
The room was clean , but had smoky smell, even we had nonsmoking room.Bathroom had cracks and stains on ceiling .Breakfast area was very small ( 3 tables)The breakfast eggs had mold on them, we notified staff and never go back for breakfast again during our stay.....Pool was out of order.
I walked in around 8pm after traveling over 4 hours, the attendant was sitting down in the little side office and when I walked in he uttered a cuss word and then go up and walked over, the hotel had a terrible smell in the lobby almost sickening. The room was surprisingly clean. It also had a odd smell! Will not stay here again I would not have stayed if I had any other options at the time!
I had an issue with the sink drain leaking. I went to the front desk to ask about getting this resolved and the only answer I got was: Here are some towels to soak the water up hope that last till morning. I said then well I expect that some compensation for dealing with this issue and then the following morning at check out was told. The manager will have to take care of this and STILL NO RESPONSE!
This used to be a fantastic hotel, but as of recent they have restructured management to incorporate people with horrendous customer service. Also last time i went the rooms were ok but the room number markers were all in the hallway floor covered with sawdust. Place smelt of weed too.
I stay at Choice Hotels because it is usually a good place to stay. I like having a breakfast to get us down the road in the morning. I probably would not have been at this Hotel, but I was trying to get near an area where my son was staying during Hurricane Irma. I do stay at Quality Hotels a lot when traveling.
My stay at this motel was a clear disappointment. 1. The first room had a loud running toilet, since it needed to have its flapper replaced. So, we moved to a different room. 2. The second room had a lock that would not accept any of the card keys we received from the attendant (4 in total). The only way I could get in to my room was by the attendant using her override key to open the doors. The next time I stay in Winder, I will stay at the other motel in town.
The hotel was good actually the only thing that I really hate about this hotel was that even when I connected the Wi-Fi to my phone I still could not get on the internet and no one could tell me why other than that the hotel was a good place and I would go back they need to get that Wi-Fi fixed though
If youre looking forward to having a decent breakfast, youll be disappointed. Breakfast time is from 6-9, but wasnt ready. Worker had poor attitude, late preparing food via microwave: very unprofessional. Sausage patty was hard and rubbery. Biscuit dry, juice fountain out of order. Subpar service!
The place is nice dont get me wrong but the services here are terrible one of the cleaning ladies are rude and has a smart attitude like she hates how people stay their welcome . And they kicked out this elderly guy out and said that his room was taken and someone make reservations for that room yet this type of place is a come in and get a room and enjoy not by oh lets make reservations for this room the guy always paid for his room ON TIME and the worse part he was handicap makes me serious that they would even do that to anyone like that I would have to say horrible service what they done shame on them! 😡
Poor facilities at the Winder, GA until all renovations are completed.Poor management, Mr. Patel, wasnt even in the facilities to excuse himself for the facilities being in such conditionsStaff Chad & Brad very understanding for dealing with the overall situations thats not in their jurisdiction, I give these two gentleman a 10*, they dont deserve the poor feedback they are great workers who are there to do their best at their job and that they did!
Paint on furniture, bedding, etc. lamp shades, carpet, and curtains stained. Heavy smoke smell. Pool was not clean and a dark green color nor had it been inspected. Leaking roof with bucket below to catch water in hall. Exterior door handle broken. If it wasnt for the hurricane and other hotels being sold out, I would have left immediately.
-Poor accommodations-Poor attention from staff. Staff was rude and unhelpful regarding questions asked and complaints about the room and the continental breakfast-I DROVE 7 HOURS TO GET TO TOWN AND AHD TO SLEEP ON A SMELLY, SMOKE FILLED MARSHMALLOW LIKE BED WITH TWO SMALL PILLOWS. I HAVE A BAD BACK AND THIS STAY MADE IT MUCH WORSE TO HAVE TO TURN AROUND AND TRAVEL BACK TH ESAME AMOUNT OF TIME IN A CAR.-The room smelled damp and looked like it as well.-I was not informed that there was not an elevator and I had to walk all the way down two hallways-The continental breakfast was a joke-I was overcharged for the stay

2022-03-15Our employees were booked to stay here in a NON-SMOKONG room, upon checking in the clerk was rude and unprofessional. After checking in, when entering the room, the smoke smell was overpowering. Both employees were exhausted and wanted to shower after a hard days work. After showering the steam/moisture stirred up the smoke stench even more and asthma related issues were becoming problematic so they went down to ask if they can have a non-smoking room. The same rude clerk on duty informed them that this wasn’t the Marriott, she doesn’t have another room available and offered a aerosol spray can to mask the stench. She did offer that they were in the process of changing a SMOKING hotel to a non-smoking hotel and that she has asked the owner several times to get plug-ins to help. As we all know smoke lies in the walls, mattresses, drapes, carpet and simply not smoking in the room after being smoked in for years does not change the fact it is a smoking room and will remain such until items are replaced. The employee returned to the room very upset. We called and spoke to the ride clerk ourselves asking for another room and she barely let us get a word in but did say let her double check as they were showing several open rooms available on the choice app and said she would call the employee in their room to notify them. After waiting for 10 mins our employee walked down after realizing the phone did not work in their room and to his surprise only seemed to irritate the clerk further that he was not able to follow her instructions. He was given a key to another room very hesitantly and bothered and walked in that room to find the same issue. He called us and asked if we could book him another room somewhere else and we did. We called the clerk to tell her he would not be staying in the room and could we be refunded and she said absolutely not that they showered not only in the first room but had time to shower the second room as well and calm is within a matter of minutes. She said good luck trying to get a refund that she will call Choice Hotel first and make sure of that! Real professional!

2022-02-08Monday the 7th I arrived at quality inn in winder Georgia and paid cash for room 217. The next morning we decided to stay another night so I went down and paid Robert (front desk clerk) another $120 cash for room 114. As soon as I walked in the room my phone rang it was Robert asking me to come to the front desk because the maid stated the room(217) smelled of smoke. Once at the front desk we were asked to leave and he was refunding our money for Tuesdays stay. But he used that $120 as payment for us smoking in room 217. The problem with that is neither of us smoke. There had been candles lite in the room but it is not stated you cant burn candles in the rooms in your policies. To make a long story short he called the police who asked us to leave the property. I called choice hotels to file a complaint and to get a refund and the customer services reps I smoke to first said, Robert said he refunded the $120 therefore there was nothing to be done. When I asked for a manager another lady came on the line and when she called Robert at quality inn he then stated he never had a reservation for us. That we never stayed there. Which is a lie. I called the police lady that came out when Robert called to police department so she could give a statement stating we were actual guests. She said she would gladly meet us up at the hotel. I am going to file a police report for theft of $240 because its obvious to me that your front desk clerk Robert is stealing and lying. I will never stay at your hotel again and I hope this review stops other customers from staying at this quality inn. This IS NOT HOW CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE TREATED. IT IS WRONG. AND SHOULD NE ILLEGAL IN MY MIND.

2022-02-05Front desk man was rude upon us entering and then changed his tune to fake nice the second payment went through. We were tired and ignored his sass but the room was filthy. I have stayed in motel 6 that was cleaner than this place. When we asked to change rooms and speak witha manager we were met with hostility and argued with. We have to stay the night because everything is closed at 1 am. I paid 109 per night for semen on the floor and dirty sheets. Do not stay here unless you have to.

2022-02-26Really horrible hotel. I travel for work all over North America and Europe and this is worst hotel I ever stayed. Unbelievable dump. All bedsheets dirty and burnt with cigarettes. Mold in bathroom. All the toiletries in bathroom were already used by previous guests. Not a cheap hotel either, just a nasty hotel

2022-06-03This hotel is overpriced, tv was very outdated, cigarette burns on sheets in a nonsmoking hotel. We work nights and got off work at 5am, we really relied on getting a late checkout for that extra hour of sleep but apparently they don’t do late checkout at all. And be prepared to have housekeeping come knocking on your door 40 minutes before checkout saying it’s time to checkout and 5 minutes after that she came back and actually tried to open the door, oh and your only security is the latch that can easily break off, my door doesn’t even have an actual lock for some reason

2022-01-28Positive: I have stayed at this hotel before but the room I got this trip was nasty. The bed spreads had cigarette burns, mold in the bathtub, a broken fingernail in the floor and the whole hotel smelled like marijuana. Negative: See above - the place was nasty.

2022-05-231) Mattresses had either blood or some kind of red stain (wine? ketchup?). Made us uncomfortable.2) Sheets: old, torn, probably not clean.3) Room: mold, smelled like cigarettes.4) Outdoors: pool: GREEN. Different shady characters hanging outside at different times. Probably waiting for the plug or Johns.5) Cameras may not work. No elevator. Take your valuables with you. You will be robbed here.

2022-06-20RUN FAR, FAR AWAY! This was the dirtiest, smelliest hotel with the absolute rudest employees. None of the 6 charging ports in the lamps worked, the bedding was dirty and had cigarette burn holes and blood stains on them, the towels were filthy, the hotel smelled like an ash tray, the mini fridge was falling through the rotted floor and the breakfast was an absolute joke! The toaster was broken, the juice machine was broken, the milk was moldy, the fruit was rotten. When I brought the charging issue to the man at the front desk, instead of trying to help or solve the problem, he suggested I check out! By far the worst hotel Ive ever stayed at. Choice hotels would be ashamed!!

2022-05-03Would definitely be -5 star if possible. $380 for 2 nights at a quality inn in the middle of methville, georgia. The guy up front was hella rude. ABSOLUTELY NO VALUE in his customers whatsoever. a/c dont work. Previous people left dirty clothes in the room. The tv is the size of a tablet almost all the way up to the ceiling. Had to sit at edge of the bed just to watch. Breakfast was from 6am -6:30am. Not 9am. Couldnt even enjoy the filthy pool. AND my dogs had to chase 2 guys out of my room who somehow managed to break in while i was asleep around 4:00am. Only thing this place has going for them is the 2 front desk ladies who were extremely nice and caring. I really hope those 2 ladies get some help around there. Those indian owners aint helping at all

2022-01-16The room was clean and quiet. The hotel staff seemed pleasant and competent. My only problem with this location was that I was unable to regulate the heating and cooling unit in my room. My room remained stuffy and too hot all night.
