The facility is great. Lots to do, and its huge! My only complaints are that every time I go (6-11pm), it is WAY too crowded! I cant get a good workout because I always have to wait on the squat rack, bench press, a machine... Which brings me to my next point. I dont like how Most of the machines are in a separate room. This prevents me from supersetting and getting a good workout. Also, the machines are WAY too close together! Sometimes I have to wait until the person beside me is done working because the machines will clash against each other. If they made this a bigger gym or allowed parking earlier than 6pm, I think the main issue (waiting for forever) could be resolved.
Some nice facilities, equipment, good staff, and a lot of class and activity options. My review is pertaining to the area of the rec center that I use the most: the weightroom. Most of the equipment is nice, but the facility is far too small with not enough equipment. Most times of day that you go you will have to wait in line to use a piece of equipment. Its surprising that the square footage dedicated to racketball courts is so much greater than that dedicated to weightroom space.
Every machine that you could ever want. They have multiple locker rooms and a swimming pool. This place had multiple floors and it requires biometrics (eye scans) to enter so you can leave your uga card at home (or in the car) parking is free after a certain time and they have princess parking for motor cycles and scooters super close to the entrance. It was hard to notice the actual building when driving by- but trust your instincts, park in the lot you think is right, and you’ll find it. I especially like that Ramsey has rock climbing options in the form of indoor sport climbing and outdoor bouldering. The center also offers classes in yoga, strength, etc. and you can buy a literal “class pass” to access. All the yoga you want in a certain length of time. I personally do not work out in the gym - too many people and too many grunting body builders but the class workouts, swimming pool, and rock climbing wall are good enough for me!
University of Georgia students and student athletes enjoy a state of the art mixed use athletic facility featuring Olympic size swimming and diving pools, volleyball stadium and extensive training rooms. If a major part of your college criteria includes sports and sports training, check out Ramsey!
Ramsey hosted numerous events from the 1996 Olympics. Great work-out facilities, indoor track, multiple pools, etc. I wish they would prorate family memberships and class passes, as well as offer more and in - depth clinics in various sports/camping/outdoor activities.
As a UGA student must report to the place, whether it is in the stage of undergraduate full of vitality and hope, or graduation, which is tied to the laboratory every day, drained the brain, and struggles with the seminar, as long as there is If you are free, you should experience the excellent equipment provided by the school. There are a lot of basic equipment: basketball court, badminton court, volleyball court, rock climbing field, two fitness centers, a row of gymnastics classrooms, and the famous swimming pool here. More importantly, you can park for free after 4:30 in the afternoon. Turn on your exercise time. Dont forget, in the project where you pay the tuition fee, you have already included the use of the Ramsey student center. Dont let your body be unhappy. Start planning to find a good partner and go to Ramsey.

2021-11-13Clean and well-managed. Wide variety of sports, activities, and classes available to students. However, there are not enough squat racks, and its clear that the main gym is not large enough to accommodate for all of UGA during mid to late afternoon hours.

2021-01-18The best facility on the UGA campus. Incredibly kind staff members who are always willing to help, even if you feel stupid asking for help. I feel safer here than I do in my classes because they actually enforce COVID protocols.

2018-01-04Top notch customer service. Extremely cheap, great value, and effective personal training. Can be crowded at usual gym crowded hours. Great variety of classes. Management really cares about the patrons experience at the Ramsey center instead of money like private gyms seem to sometimes dwell on. Go Dawgs!

2017-07-05This student recreation center for the University of Georgia is top notch. Two full sized gyms, an Olympic sized pool, 7 basketball courts, a rock wall, and multiple studio workout rooms that can be reserved and sometimes host special group workout classes. Does get a little crowded in the afternoons but the place is so big it usually isnt too hard finding something to do.

2017-01-25Great facilities and lots of options for classes, especially if youre a student. Its clean and well-kept. Its pretty crowded in the evening though, so consider going on a lunch break or in between classes if you want to avoid the crowds. A note if you use the pools, make sure you check the schedule online to see which pools are open and at what time since its sort of erratic depending on whats going on.
