Good food compared to whats offered in Baxley. We arrived at 8pm, they where sold out of ribs. I ended up with pulled pork for $16. Wifes steak was good quality and had good flavor. Most plates where $18+. Would try again for sure.

Nice ambiance. Good and friendly service. I recommend the Fried Shrimp. Salad and dressing very fresh. Yeast rolls are yummy. Cheesecake w/ strawberry compote is fabulous and a must have!

After 2yrs of boycott we tried Rays out. Welcomed in, even though it was close to closing (about an hr from closing). Atmosphere was a country setting and very comfortable & laid back! ❤ The food was exceptionally delicious! ❤ Service was on point! ❤ Talked with the owner a brief moment about his mini house & barn. ❤ Awesome pieces of work! And a very sweet guy! Welcomed us back! ❤

The waitresses knew how to do their job. The food was delicious and we brought home a little bit of leftovers. We met Ray and was really proud of his staff
Food was good small portions of sides. Very expensive 16 oz Ribeye is 34. We had small sirloin steak 8oz husband had fried shrimp small portion will salad and beans. It was 51.78 for us to eat. For that much we could have eat at Longhorns and had drinks and bread. We have been in the area to purchase a SUV. Dealer said try Rays. Friendly workers
Great tasting food, not just steak and ribs, but steak and ribs are worth the drive. And you will drive to get here. Location is beside a major highway well outside the city limits. The place is clean and accommodating; the service is good; the food is properly-prepared as you order it, so you will wait, but it is hot, fresh, and delicious. The owner may stop by the table to welcome you and make sure all is well ( if it isnt, he will fix it!), and he works to encourage you to come again. I have family in the area, and Rays is one of the few places we gather to dine and fellowship together...and not nearly as often as I would like!
Best green beans EVER! Everything else was good too, but those green beans....to die for! Also, our server, Seth, was very attentive. 5 STARS!

Nice place, nice folks, good food and a little pricey. The portions are small in comparison to most other restaurants. The meal was served pretty promptly and it was good. Our waitress was very personable and fun. We will go back.
Everything was delicious! Our server, Leanne, was so friendly, attentive, & gave excellent service. The cinnamon butter was perfect with the sweet potato & collards were flavorful. My father enjoyed his hamburger steak & the environment of the restaurant.
The steak was delicious, however they were out of tbones and baked potatoes. Our waitress didnt check on us enough, forgetting to refill our drinks, bringing the wrong side dish and I had eaten half of my potato before she arrived with the butter. They had just served 2 large parties so I do understand mistakes happen when you work that hard. The owner was around doing things like checking on people and grabbing dishes it was something refreshing to see.
Definitely more spendy than we expected and the food was not worth 100 dollar tab for 2 with no alcohol. Especially if youre harvesting your own meat.
I had passed by Rays Steaks and Ribs several times while passing through Baxley, GA. Always to eager to get to or get back from somewhere to stop. My wife and I purposely drove the hour and a half to eat there. We were not disappointed. We started off with some delicious jalapeno poppers. Be careful. Theres a hint of ghost pepper in there. Just like I like them. Just a little hot but not overbearing. I had the ribeye. My wife had the pulled pork. Both were delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked. The taste was exquisite. No additional condiments necessary.Even better than the food was the conversation with Ray. He customarily meets every diner. I had the pleasure of speaking with him twice. Just dont get that kind of treatment much these days.Didnt let them talk us into that cheesecake, this time. I needed an excuse to go back.If you get the opportunity, stop in and eat. I think youll like it.
Best place in South Georgia to get a steak. Mr Ray sure knows how to grill a steak. On top of best steaks they have the best Huge cheesecake around...
Just awful very disappointing. This was my 50th birthday dinner. I ordered the 22oz T-bone, rare at $29.00. I reiterated this several times to the waitress. She even underlined rare. What I got was medium well not even a drop of blood on the plate. They didnt offer to fix it or to reduce the price. This was my birthday I was so upset I cried through the entire dinner the steak was tough and dry went untouched and went into a to-go box. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They do not care about the customer only the money.
There has been a large increase in the price for a ribeye the menu online say $27 but it was $35 when we arrived. The food was good but pricey
The best ribs ever and weve had a few - we just want to say you can not go wrong at Rays I dont care who ya are! Best food best service nice clean rib house out there. Prices are very reasonable! And Ray is a great guy. Go meet him eat some fantastic food get to know some sweet people. At Rays you get treated like youre somebody.
Excellent food and service! We had a big party with 4 kids so we ordered everything from chicken strips to steak and ribs. Everyone loved it! The sides are amazing too (twice baked potatoe casserole for the win!). Ray was super nice too! Eat here!
This place was excellent. Food was delicious, good sized portions and clean throughout. Great service, a little slow due to the waitress having too many tables so we understood but would definitely recommend you stop, its excellent!
I ordered the filet steak (which was $30 for the plate) and I swear they brought out a sirloin that wasn’t even good!! Filet’s are supposed to be round and thick what they brought out was flat and huge! I asked two different waitresses what they had brought out that I order the filet steak and they swore thats what it was! My husband got the “pork chop” dinner that was $22 and it was awful also! Never will go back there again! $100 down the drain bc me my husband and my two kids didn’t even hardly touch their plates it was really that bad!

This place has down home southern charm, great food huge portions. The service of Kat and the whole staff is fabulous. Highly recommended! Dont think twice just go and enjoy the experience. And dont forget to order the fried pork wrindes with jalapeno ranch. Wow!!

The best little Steakhouse in the country!! I travel a lot and I love this place. Rays rib eye and collard greens are perfectly cooked and seasoned. The desserts are just plain amazing. You cant go wrong at Rays!!!

Seated quickly. Service was great. 16 oz Ribeye was tender and great flavor. Twice baked potato and steamed (NOT microwaved) broccoli was great. Mac & cheese is homemade. Will definitly visit again.Owner was there.

My party had steak to seafood, and let me tell you those shrimps and grits are to die for and that red velvet cheesecake is off the charts, NOW you cant eat all that, but you can take it home for the next, and its just as good. Excellent cooks and waitresses !!!!
Best meal I have ever had at Rays! Steak was great cut and perfectly cooked. Another in our group had the salmon on rice and it was terrific as well.
Always waiting to welcome his customers, Rays appreciation is seen by the handshakes & hugs he gives. Rays Steak & Ribs is by far the BEST place to go for an EXCELLENT meal. The warpath peppers are a must for a starter. After that you cant go wrong with whatever you decide on. The one thing you do DO NOT want to do is leave without trying a piece of one his specialty cheesecakes.

Potato microwaved mac and cheese was terrible chicken breast was cheap and horrible fries were hard and green beans had a chunk of ham fat not good either. Waitress was terrible. Will not be going back. The only food that was good was the steak but very fatty.

Our boys love the cowboy decor and the swings out front, so its a must visit for them. The food is good, and the service is great! I recommend either their fried green tomatoes or the fried pickles!

2021-11-21We absolutely love the service and food and atmosphere at Rays. Very clean, spacious with servers who truly make you feel like the most important customer despite taking care of other tables as well. Travelling from Ontario Canada to say this is always the highlight of our trips to Baxley is an under statement. Best all around, just wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often!

2022-03-19A friend of mine spent 241.00 on five steaks. Told them she wanted them well done. Drove 30 minutes too go pick them up. Got home and they was medium rare. Talk too the owner and he told her too bring them back in he would finish cooking them or she can finish cooking them. That is bad business. And she got the receipt and photos.

2021-10-02Steak was marinated in a sauce. I said I wanted no sauce. My husband got ribs what he got was a small handful. My daughter got a hamburger steak which she couldnt finish. The appetizers were awesome. The waitress was super friendly. We ate it and it was fair but not worth the price. $102 for 3 people. Cant say we wont be back but right now we HAVE NO PLANS TO RETURN ANYTIME SOON IF EVER.

2021-10-09The food was fantastic. Nice size steaks cooked just the way you want. I had the twice baked potato which came with bacon and cheese on top. It was very good, but for the price of the meal, could have been served in a bigger bowl. It was served in a very small bowl and I had a very small salad. The sevice here was less than good with very little attention given to our table and our drinks going dry. They do charge you a service charge on top of the meal and the adult meals are in the $22 - $37 dollar range. So they get a 4 star for their steaks, but a 2 star for their sides being way too skimpy for the prices that they are asking.

2021-11-01We went there a week ago on a Saturday night.They were not busy. All 4 of us ordered the steak special with baked sweet potato. Our potato was so cold it would not melt the butter. Our steaks we ordered medium and they were barely warm when they came out. We use to love to eat here However based on this experience we will not be back.

2022-02-24My Husband & I have been disappointed by EVERY restaurant we visited from Lumber City to Hazlehurst while here on business, but Lawd when we came across Ray’s 🙌🏾🙌🏾… This place was everything, the atmosphere, our great waitress, the music, the cook & I could go on and on!! I can’t wait to visit again to try other items on the menu. The gator bites and spinach dip were great appetizers. Thank you Ray’s❤️❤️
