Came here for a visit to the Tybee Island and it is a great and close place to the Tybee Island. The room looked clean and well maintained. There is a indoor swimming pool that open from 10am-10pm! They have towels in the pool area which means you don’t have to bring it from your room. That’s a great idea! I would say the hallway does smell like wet dirty clothes or something. But other than the smell of the hallway, it is an good place for a good price. The staffs are very nice and helpful. The shower head and the faucet are low in running water. I would say that improving is needed. The place is nice for people with money within the budget. The breakfast is from 6am - 9 am. The breakfast is not bad but can improve. It has great cereal options but not much. If cereal aren’t your thing, you can make fresh waffles. There are scrambled eggs, sausages, and biscuits. I gave it a 5 star bc it have potential to be great for more tourists and travelers in the future.
Positive: The staff was great and the breakfast offered several choices. The room was clean and nice, but could use some updating. Im glad that the hotel accepted pets at no charge. Overall the experience was nice. Negative: The outside entrance and doorway to the left of the lobby was filthy and the entrance inside was not appealing. The pool area was dirty, outdated and overall undesirable.
New flooring and furniture, but it wasnt significantly nicer than a regular Red Roof Inn. I think the remodel was still happening, but I also think they were finished with the room I stayed in. Housekeeping left food in the fridge, very frustrating start. I couldnt find a trash can on the 2nd floor and eventually got to the front desk where I was told to carry someone elses food outside to dispose of it. That is probably the cause of this written review. The toilet wasnt attached securely, the walls were rough, sloppy paint, maybe they should have replaced the doors and refinished the walls, not just added paint to what was poorly done many years ago. The elevator walls and common areas should have been refreshed too, maybe that is planned. Including taxes and fees, I paid just over $150/night, I know demand affects price and maybe some event was happening the weekend I stayed which made the price high, but I expect more for that price. I would not be complaining if I had paid $75-$100 per night and the front desk clerk had just said Im sorry, Ill take that for you.
The rooms smell terrible. There is mold and so much filth in the air conditioner. I thought maybe it was my allergies acting up, but they cleared up the day after we checked out and left this filthy air behind. The hot tub is down and the pool is dirty. For a low budget hotel, its a decent option but I wont stay here again.
Good place to stop for the night. Hallway and elevors narrow. No hot breakfast, got a bag breakfast of a muffin, nature bar and small water. Coffee and orange juice good. No apple juice. Good place to stop for the night, but not really for an extended time. Room was nice and clean.
This was a dissapointing hotel stay. The hotel is not the cleanest. It seems like they need to update and fix things. This hotel room was $158 and my feet were sticking to the floor in the room. The free breakfast was pitiful. The only good thing I can say is the bed was comfortable.
Room was booked on Expedia. When we arrived to our assigned room, the bed appeared to be slept in, the bathroom supplies were used, trash was in the room. We went back to the front desk and reported our findings to the front desk associate on duty. At approximately 11pm, the front desk associate informed us that she was alone and there was no housekeeping staff and offered us a refund...like, where were we going to get another room at that hour? After several minutes, we were reassigned to a room with a smaller bed to sleep in and offered no discount or as much as a partial refund. The 2nd rooms window seat cushion was grossly stained, one windows glass was cracked and repaired with clear shipping tape, the walls were filthy, we saw 2 insects in the room, and the furniture surfaces were dusty and dirty! Absolutely the worst experience Ive had at a hotel booked through Expedia! I will never return to this hotel!!!
Positive: Rooms were clean aI felt safe there was someone at desk everytime I walked by. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was hot! Had access to pool (which is open from 10a.m.-10 p.m.) and gym(only 3 equipment) Negative: Location from beach is 50 minutes, but thats the choice I made. Lack of fruits for breakfast only apples were available. Access to Wi-Fi wasnt able to use
It is 3/12/2022 at 10:05pm. I was trying to check availability for a room for my boyfriend who’s has been driving for 15 hours. A woman picked up the phone and asked if I could go on hold, I said yes. She sets the phone down and I can hear her say to the customers she with “this is what happens when I’m over worked”. Then she picks up the phone and tells me the computer is loading and she’ll give me pricing in a moment. When she sets down the phone this time she’s talking to a male (from what I hear a friend or boyfriend). She’s talking about her finances and what she’s going to do after work and swearing. This went on for a good 10 minutes. I started to ask “hello” thinking she might hear and nothing. Very disappointing.
We had 2 rooms. Very dirty rooms with 4 bugs in bathtub and 2 in the bathroom. Very small rooms. We barely slept we rushed out of there in the morning. They had a continental breakfast and we couldn’t imagine eating food from this place. Looks like they were trying to put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig!
Instantly saw a cockroach as I walked in to the room. Room 308 third floor. The room was kinda clean though. I found more roaches around the fridge and in the microwave. You can see they used some kind of gel to try and kill them but its not working. I dont recommend bringing any food or electronics in this hotel or you may attract some hitchhikers (roaches)
Terrible stay, please do NOT stay here. Room was filthy upon arrival, there was hair in the bed along with in the bathroom. The odor of the room was strong and terrible. We literally found 2 roaches in our room. When telling front desk about it they were very nasty and rude. Will never return.
While traveling, looked on Redroof website to check rates & availability. Got to location & was charged a $60 difference from website within a 15 minute time frame! Imo…false advertising. Floors were sticky & it smelled! Should have drove inland from I95 & stayed at a Hilton from the same price.
I am a travel nurse and stayed here because of work. I received the best service ever. Everyone was so nice. These ladies acknowledged everyone who came in and left. They were very nice to my dog Vivian. I truly appreciated their kindness and smiles. Housekeeping did a great job with my room.
I really enjoy the indoor pool 🏊♀️ and hot tub! It’s pet friendly which is a bonus, and they have clean, up to date rooms. I have come back 3 times simply for the inside pool access and some very nice accommodations to some personal needs.Red Roof is really a Red Roof 😊 (check out my pictures)
Better than I expected. This is a newer property so the room was updated. The front desk staff was extremely nice. Indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Free Parking. Pet Friendly. Great location. The walls are a bit thin so you will hear everything around you and above you. Request a room on the top floor. The hallway carpet needs to be cleaned. Killed two creepy crawlers during my 3 night stay. Refrigerator and microwave in room. Shower curtain was a bit dirty when we checked in. Bring your own towels.
I cant say enough about this place and its employees! Great rates! Had a great, very clean room! The staff is friendly and helpful! Very convenient to lots of attractions. They put together a sack breakfast for guests during covid! Theyre all you need for comfort and fun! AND THEYRE DOG FRIENDLY 🐕!We also enjoyed the indoor pool and spa. Thanks so much for the great stay! Love the window seats! See you next time.
This hotel is not bad for the price. The people are nice its clean inside, but you dont get that homey type feel. Everything is cold and pain, but clean. They do serve breakfast. Its a bag lunch type of deal. You just grab and go. My room had a king bed but the room itself was very small. The air conditioner, although it was blowing cold air blew very humid air so my room was kind of stinky all the time, but overall is good enough for one night.
On the positive, the most comfortable bed ever and excellent room layout. The negative: very noisy, there was coffee splash in the sink, dried feces in the toilet bowl, hair on the seat, and the next morning the water wouldnt get hot. Ive stayed at Red Roof Inns before and been very happy, but this was as close to awful as you can get.
I was really relying on all the positive comments to be true. But, my husband and I had the WORST experience ever. We understand that this hotel is budget friendly and you get what you get but, I have never stayed in something so gross. There was stains on the sheets and towels, mold in the mini fridge, old trash left in the fridge. Hairs all over the bathroom. And the room smelled of urine and onions. The front desk did not help us at all! We were handed sheets to change the bed and those sheets had stains! We were promised a new clean room but, they never fulfilled that promise. Very disappointing when you have traveled 5 hours to get here for a good nights rest.
Came to this hotel later into the evening after our reservation at another hotel didnt work out. Since we had a bad experience previously, the front desk let us review the room for our satisfaction before taking the reservation. The room was smaller than the other hotel, but clean. Each room was provided with a lunch box in the refrigerator: granola bars, juice, and water, which was a nice touch. As Ive seen in other reviews for this hotel, the walls are thin. My room was the first room closest to the main lobby so you could hear everyone walking the halls. I also suggest a room on a higher floor with less traffic.
DO NOT STAY HERE!We chose to stay here due to their pet friendly nature. At a glance, the room looked clean. However, the morning after our first night, we woke up to a COCKROACH crawling in our bed!! After searching the room, we found ANOTHER one in the FREEZER. I have pictures but for some reason these reviews don’t allow pictures. I went to the management and very politely just asked for a new room. It took an hour to find us a room that was clean. I didn’t complain as the manager promised a partial refund for the inconvenience. They did not keep their word. I asked about the discount at check out and I was told to call or email the company. I have emailed and called with no response. So unorganized! I wasn’t going to leave a negative review until now…
I was surprised how nice it was. Customer service was good. We had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor. It had a strong smell in the hall and the rooms but everything was clean even the shower. Room size was good.Water pressure was good.Bed was comfortable. It was quiet.Close to downtown.Affordable.
For a cheap hotel , it was a good hotel with great staff. But when it comes to the the room, our room was really small. The water pressure is great but the amount of water that comes out of the shower with that pressure is so less that it feels like needles on the body. We paid $80 approximately. But I have stayed at better places for less. All in all , I will give this motel a 3 star.
I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are very modern.. The hotel is quiet and clean. Theyre remodeling or just finishing, you can tell but its discreet no noise except pets. The staff is friendly and efficient. The pool area is clean and well kept. The gym area has mattresses in it ( renovations ) but this did not spoil my experience the equipment that i could see looks new and well kept the parking lot is well lit.
There were roaches in the bathroom. I told the front desk person about the situation in the morning and came back to a bathroom full of roaches at night. They did nothing to take care of the situation. There were also a couple of dogs barking in the room across from mine, which made the overall hotel stay miserable.
I usually don’t post negative reviews but this place was sooooo bad! The beds were HORRIBLE, one was even BROKEN (the whole side fell off when my daughter sat on it and when I called the front desk to let them know they told me they were aware already) the bathroom was absolutely filthy, could tell it had not been throughly cleaned since the last guest so I wiped it down with wipes I had brought, the noise above our heads was constant all night, if your unlucky enough to have a front room the parking lot lights make it impossible to black out the room to sleep and there is a loud horrible fan in the pool room below, the ac unit smells like mold when cut on, the chlorine in the pool was so strong it discolored the kids bathing suits and I found hairs in the bed when I pulled down the covers. If my husband who is disabled could have tolerated us getting back on the road to find a different place we would have left that night but instead we left as soon as the sun was up. The worst part was I left a necklace on the side table, I realized it less then 30 minutes after we left, called them and was assured he would go straight to the room to retrieve it for me to pick up on our return trip home but when I called back to confirm he found it I was told they were unable to locate it. It was my fault for leaving it but that’s BULL, I know exactly where it was and there is no way they didn’t find it. The taco place in the parking lot was the only good thing about it. Oh and they charge your card a $50 fee that they say will be credited back once you check out but it takes 3 days.
It was a typical 3-star hotel. For the price is was great, but dont expect to have a 5-star experience here. They allow pets so the room smelled strongly of dog. The sheets had some dog hair on them, but otherwise seemed clean. The room seemed mostly clean and the staff were friendly. The outside area could use some cleanup. All and all, pretty decent stay if youre looking for something more affordable.
Smells like mold and wet dog combined. I know this hotel is pet friendly but they need to be more mindful when putting those without pets in certain rooms. Were placed right by an exit and stairway, all night I continued to hear slamming of doors. Pool area was uncomfortably hot and the pool was loaded with chlorine. Location is good because its right off from a main highway. Breakfast was a joke, muffin and a granola bar. I would not stay here for more than one night due to price and condition of hotel.
This is probably one of the best properties I have come across. I had been traveling all day and decided last minute to take in Savannah. I did not have a reservation so I searched for affordability and good location. I got both. I was the last one to book a room, which was very lucky because a gymnastics competition was going on. The young lady at the front desk was extremely hard working and very hospitable to all the travelers who had shown up at the same time. Briana was her name and I thank her for her kindness. The room was extremely clean and very nice. I just wanna know where I can buy those pillows. I was extremely pleased with my stay.
Wow! This place was great! The room was very clean. Bedding was all clean. We found no bugs and no mold anywhere. Breakfast is still just bagged due to Covid Im guessing. The best part was that we left an expensive pair of earbuds behind and came back 2 days later to pick them up and they had them for us! Honest cleaning people and honest workers to keep those safe for us. Would recommend this place especially at the price!
Driving from Florida to Ohio and decided to stop for the night. My room was not clean and blankets and sheets from the person who stayed previously were thrown into the corner by the wall. The hallways and stair case smelled awful and were not clean at all. I did check for bugs and didn’t find any, however in 22 years I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in such an uncomfortable place. The staff was friendly and helpful though
Horrible want a 50 dollar deposit no smoking and if you third party they dont like to cancel out for you. Theyll prefer for you to call the third party to do so. I didnt bother to stay after the GRAND SURPRISES. indoor pool though. Hotel kept together and yes you can bring your children. Indoor pool theyll love it
Probably our worst stay ever! The place is N-A-S-T-Y! We had pet hair on our bed, sheets, floors, bathroom counters, geez, we were afraid to touch anything! We stopped by for 1 night to get a few zzzzz from traveling, take an early swim, wash lot of clothes, and hit the road again. The indoor pool was full or kids and parents when we arrived, so we didn’t even open the door to go it. The next morning, notices the sign stated that the pool and spa didn’t open until 10:00!!! Check out is 11:00? What? That’s crazy! No washer or dryer. Just an empty hole. I was so disgusted, I started taking pictures to share with the management. We paid a back-breaking $207 for a 12 hour stay in the worst place ever!
I cant complain because we had a good rate but you can tell that they need to fix the place up a bit. The elevator smells a bit but its because they have a pool area and idiots go in there wet and makes it smell from humidity. Overall the place was great and that Flacos tacos place is awsome and walkable.
The staff is nice, and welcoming ! But every night someone was partying /smoking paraphernalia or just being loud in general. The doors slam very easily here, the walls are very thin!!! So if your a light sleeper I don’t suggest staying here. If your looking for a good nights sleep you won’t get it. I’m very unhappy!! I do not recommend this place at all! The place could also use some updating to it.
For a price of around $75 per night for a pet-friendly hotel just off of I-95, this location is perfect. Exterior is in good condition with a modern design. Ignore the smell, its due to all the paper mills in the area. Room was clean and nearly all hardwood or tile, making it feel sanitized. Women at check-in was not the friendliest, but made our arrival quick and easy. Great option for a quick night stay on the road.
Very clean and the office was very attentive to our needs and the pricing was great. Really love the pet friendly experience as we travel with our dog and are always on the look out for places we can take the dog along! We will be including Red Roof on our next vacation!
100/100 definitely recommend!!!The staff here is amazing!!! My family stayed here for a whole week and they took great care of us!! The hot tub and pool was amazing as well!! Their hospitality is outstanding and we will definitely be staying there again on our next trip to Savannah!! Again another big shoutout to Samantha and her wonderful staff!!
All that work there need to work on your communication. I was checking in late at night so I called ahead to ask for a late check out which is 12 PM. The lady on the phone was very nice and told me that she noted it then the man at the counter confirmed the late check out. Then when I went to check out at 12 the lady at the desk was very rude she said who told you you could check out late. My stay was July 13 or the 14th 2021.
I highly recommend checking reviews from other websites such as hotels.com before solely trusting all these 5 star google reviews. Immediately walking into the hotel, I didn’t see what everyone was raving about. Our room smelled like smoke and we had cockroaches in the towels in the bathroom. Overall not a clean or comfortable stay. Reviews from other sites are much more accurate, where as these google reviews are all 5 star within two weeks, making me question the validity after seeing the hotel in person.
Halfway between home and our sunshine destination in Florida. Pets OK! We went for third floor this time because it has some hard flooring and sometimes you hear heavy footsteps above. It has an elevator as well as stairs. Newly renovated so clean and fresh! Lots of restaurants across the road and more within 5 minutes.
Very disappointed, I 1st got there and my room was dirty I asked for service to get it cleaned, and they came up hours later and halfway cleaned it again leaving dog food on the side of the bed somebody elses hair all over the bathroom. It was just so nasty and dirty. On top of all the dirtiness my shorts set came up missing right after they left my room.
Chose it last min on way back to FL based on the $47 rate advertised (Google search) and 4.6 score. Paid $70+ on what shouldve been $50ish. Yes, they updated rooms but a far cry from standard 3* hotels (hilton) and suggest they put more priority into sagging areas of ceiling panel in hall that appeared wet w green mold. No coffee maker in room- on order. Soda machine out of order. Seemed we were one of few cars in lot. Its ok 1 night but next time Ill pay more for Hilton or Marriott and get points. Indoor heated pool a plus but we werent prepared.I would have appreciated being given the same deal I found online thru booking.com- about $10 less.Constructive advice- have a pro paint- it never pays to cut costs by doing-it-yourself. Room updates are nice- but 1st impressions are key. Consider replacing carpet in lobby/halls and repair ceiling leaks.
One star because my credit card was hacked after I paid with it at the hotel and fraudulent transactions were made: 8 charges ranging $5-$200 within 2 hours. Thankfully my credit card company declined them. I booked hotel on my phone through booking.com so I don’t know where hackers got my info from but this what happened
Only stayed at this location as they allowed dogs, but this hotel should be advertised more as a motel 6...very sketchy, cheap, not the cleanest.. People loud in the halls at night, horns from cars throughout the night.... the worst sleep ever and what was crazy is that is wasnt priced as cheap as the poor experience...$130/night and their continental breakfast was a brown paper bag with a muffin and apple AND my husband and I woke up with bites on our arms and legs...super skeevy, and we would never ever go back.

2022-05-31Stayed here as a last minute stop on the way home from Florida. The prices were great for 1 night! The rooms were nice, air conditioned, and the beds were made. The mattresses were comfortable and I slept well. Ice was accessible to refill coolers, but the vending machines did not work. Bathrooms were very nice, but there was almost no water pressure in the shower. Also, the hallways smelled like mildew and there was a lack of breakfast options and drinks. TVs had almost every channel, and the views out the room windows were nice.

2022-03-08My husband and I stayed for a week while in Savannah. We were in room 113, and it was perfect! The King size bed was comfy, the bathroom was spacious, the window seat was relaxing. The TV was of great quality and we were able to hook up our Nintendo switches and PS5 and play them at the hotel as well! Our fur baby was accepted for free and we were close to the side door so taking him to potty was easy! The staff is really nice and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and the indoor swimming pool and hot tub is a really amazing feature! We definitely know where we will be staying in the future when in Savannah!

2022-07-05Very very disappointed. The room was at least marginally cleaned and the bed was very comfortable so that was a bonus. But everything was broken the phone was broken the so-called hot tub was disgusting filled with pee yellow water lukewarm and the Jets didnt work. There was no ice machine that was broken we were told to go across the street to use the other ice machine. There were people smoking in the hallway. Theyre certainly not managing this hotel at all. Very sad. The outer door to the stairway was broke so anybody could enter without a key card very unsafe. I dont know who manages this property but theyre doing a terrible job

2022-04-06Feeling safe is the #1 on my list for any out of town stays. And I felt safe and comfortable here. The staff is friendly the rooms were clean and I had a non smoking room that actually DIDNT smell like cigarettes/weed (Ive had experiences where it did). I had access to everything expect the Wi-Fi because it didnt work. They served HOT breakfast instead of grab and go bags. I would stay again. A $50 deposit is required given when checking out.

2021-12-18Positive: This is listed as a 2 star hotel. I believe it is a 3 1/2 star hotel. Location is perfect. It is back off the road with woods behind. Nice and quiet. Very clean and the beds were comfortable. Negative: The two exit doors were near our room. The outside door closed securely but the inside door remained ajar and banged when people went in and out. It needs to be refitted and put noise dampening buffers on it.

2022-04-29So bad that we left. Room wasnt ready, pool area was DISGUSTING, slime on bottom of pool, you could see footprints in the slime. Hot tub didnt work. Elevator didnt work. Outside pool was at a neighboring hotel. The best thing this place has going for it is that its right off the highway, so its convenient to leave and go stay at a decent hotel.

2022-07-03The rooms smell so we tried to open the window to let it air out but they came and ask us to close it due to the amount of wasps they have. They are overwhelmed with wasps nest all the way around the building. They have a poor excuse as to why they cant get rid of them. The beds are hard as a rock and the pillows are flat. The ice machine is broken, the snack machine has hardly anything in it. The insulation is terrible because you can hear every foot step made above you as well as peoples tv playing loudly. The hot tub is green and the pool is just as bad. They have absolutely no filter running for the pool at all. The breakfast is absolutely terrible too. I have no happy thing to say about this place at all.

2022-06-03I stayed at this whole for about 10 minutes. The place looked run down and after turning down the first room due to noise, the second room was terrible. It was very small and I went to close the curtain and the window pane was horrible. It was very dirty with bits of plaster hanging around it as if it had just been installed and no one bothered to clean up. I decided to go to another hotel. I will not use Red Roof again. No pics with this review. Nothing to see here…

2022-04-17Very disappointed in this hotel! The reviews are all hit or miss for this place but we decided to take a chance based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately it was a run down mess. The ladies at the front were sooo sweet so I am sad that it came to this. The rooms were so gross. Dust everywhere, hair, food scraps, dirty sheets, random splats, handprints and others. We couldn’t fit a pack and play in there, so that was another problem. My sons feet were dirty after walking around on the floor. We ended up leaving immediately. I wished this worked out because it was in a good location off of I-95.

2022-04-26Positive: Nothing. Negative: Room was gross. Hotel was gross. Smelled like a mix of marijuana and mold. No sheets were available for babys pack and play. Way overpriced for level. Staff was utterly unhelpful and confused at best. Will never choose a red roof hotel again.
