This theater is not what I expected for the price of pur tickets and the surrounding area! It looks rundown, raggedy, and poorly maintained inside. It was also very smelly! I did want to sit down let alone lay my heads on the torn seats and had it not been for my children, I would have gotten right up and requested a refund as I very well would have had every right to! Great movie, horrible place to have watched it!
The movie theater was fine (although the seats are looking extremely worn) but the employee, Willy, was ridiculously awful at the concessions. I am not sure if he was having a bad day or stoned. He was uninterested in answering my question and did not want to be there.
We had a baby recently so we don’t get date nights often and we chose this theater specifically so we could enjoy a couple glasses of wine. The bar was closed because they didn’t have a “licensed bartender”(?) despite it being a slow Tuesday and SIX employees behind the snack counter doing nothing. All of which were clearly over the age of 18. The manager was the one that told us…so you, as a manager, do not have the power to pour a glass of wine or hand over a can of beer? We would have chosen a different theater had we known we couldn’t enjoy the whole normal experience. Very annoyed…less because of the wine…mostly because it doesn’t make any logical sense.
Each time I come to this theatre the staff are always quite pleasant. The areas are always clean (occasional popcorn on floor during busy times). Seating is as comfortable as sitting at your own home, just with 60-200 more people. It is nice to have reserved seating where I dont have to rush in and find myself a seat on a busy night. Especially with my Regal Unlimited subscription so I can see however many movies I want. Overall I think this is the best Regal Theatre in the entire state. Wonderfully wonderful.
I’ve always been an NCG customer and since my kids always go to the Regal Avalon, I decided to give it a shot. My God, this was the biggest mistake ever. The concession’s staff looks tired and careless, no hot dogs, yes you read right, no hot dogs, no chicken tenders, no Pepsi (I paid 6.99 for a Pepsi, found out I had dark water in my glass and they offered me another drink, gave me frozen Pepsi instead, the popcorn is awful, the 1st part of the bucket is big corn, but halfway down is just crumbles. The theatre looks like is 20 years old, worn seats. Will not come back to this place. Expensive and bad experience.
First, let me start by saying that I never go out of my way to leave a negative review, regardless of how bothered I am. Imagine having such an egregious experience that you feel the need to leave a negative feedback while waiting for your movie to start.Since I’m taking the time to do this, I’m going to provide a little backstory so you understand the weight that this experience holds, not just for me but for anyone who has struggled or is struggling with substance use. While my roommates all ordered their alcoholic beverages, I asked if a virgin mojito was an option. The answer was - no, it’s not on our menu. That’s fine. The employee then shows me the fridge to display options. I saw grenadine and Orange juice, so I quickly opted for a no-tequila sunrise. She began making the drink and then reached for the tequila.Right before she pours it, I repeat, “no tequila.” I understand it’s not a typical order, so again, I dropped it and chalked it up to not being loud enough when I ordered. Then, it comes to paying. She lets me know that she has to charge me for alcohol. What alcohol? You can’t manually enter adjustments? Find something similar and a price I could be charged for instead? You can’t comp or edit an item to best meet the needs of your clientele? As if health concerns don’t exist? The least you could do is try. I then asked for a supervisor. Out comes the same individual who walked away when we first came up to the bar. I know a thing or two about hospitality and customer service, as that’s what I do for a living. So, I was already surprised by the greeting. Or lack thereof. I asked the “supervisor” if there was anyone above him who could handle the situation. Danny was condescending and dismissive (not to mention highly adolescent in his communications). He said I would need to contact corporate because they can’t change the price on menu items. Danny clearly found this interaction amusing and funny. Or, at least, that’s what I picked up from his sarcastic tone and inability to have any empathy, even if he really couldn’t help me. He then scurried over to a coworker to discuss what happened. I didn’t even bother to turn a corner first, just behind the bar towards the kitchen. Had this been a good interaction, I would not still be sitting here 30 minutes later, rage-typing. I would have let it go. I have worked with many P.O.S. Systems throughout my years and have yet to come across a system that can not do what I was asking. Not only was this extremely triggering, but I am mortified at the idea of this happening to anyone else who may be struggling.I want to be abundantly clear - am I annoyed that someone would try to charge a non-alcohol drinker for alcohol? Of course. But, this is a much bigger problem than a $8 (very embarrassingly desperate) upcharge. It’s about the apparent disrespect, disregard, and immature behavior I experienced. I have never in my life witnessed a more unprofessional and unfit individual managing an establishment. In short, my experience absolutely sucked, and I am telling every person I know until someone fixes this issue so the next person doesnt have to pay the price. Literally and figuratively.
The manager was very nice and accommodating. But, the theater was the pits from the lobby to the restrooms to the hallway for the individual theaters. They were probably short staffed but at the time I was there, it was slow enough for someone to sweep and vacuum. I wont be going back anytime soon. Its a pandemic and all I could think about was surely the individual theaters hadnt been properly cleaned.
I had high expectations given the location of this theater, which is why I drove here from Suwanee, but I noticed the same things other reviewers have: worn down seats, dirty theater, grumpy employees who look like they hate their job. It didnt leave a good impression, and though I had no trouble watching the movie I went to see, I really have no desire to return when parking is a nightmare. Just not worth it.
This location has seen better days. Everything seemed very tired, and the screen (theater 12) had uneven coloration in the display which was distracting. The grumpy workers were not pleasant. The seats were filthy. They advertised candy in the counter display but said they were out of stock when I tried to purchase some.Id much rather drive further to a different theater or stay at home than experience this place again.
This theaters location is amazing. Right smack in the middle of Avalon shops and restaurants. The theater is unfortunately showing age and wear. Each theater is small enough so most seats (D row and above) have good visibility. Sound quality is quite decent. Each seat reclines nearly 150 degree or so (perfect to rest and watch). Enough gap between rows and also some gap every 2 seats. Popcorn and soda are priced as any big movie theater (ugh).
Awesome place to enjoy and watch a movie. Its nice and clean, the reclining, leather seats are super comfortable, and the staff is very friendly, polite, and accommodating. I love that your food order is brought to you in the theater so you dont have to miss a moment of the movie. The sound quality was great. The gourmet pizza and boneless chicken was yummy, delicious and tasty!! 😋😋😋 I highly recommend this location.
I had a fantastic time at this theater. I needed help with my ticket purchase and the lady at the door called the manager. It wasnt a long wait and He came and helped me out. We even had a little small talk and he made me feel like I was the most important person in the room. I believe his name was Anthony. Hes most definitely a keeper. He even suggested that I sign up for the Unlimited Program. I will most definitely be back to this location. Oh and I must add how friendly the whole staff was and the place was very clean. The seats in the auditorium do need a little TLC but other then that everything was great!
3 Stars? Yes because even though its nice, I mean come on... It doesnt fit with Avalon. It should be a luxury VIP Theater with a full menu and wait staff. The chairs are kind of old and it just didnt feel as nice as Ive experienced and expected as someone visiting the area for the holidays.I love Regal normally and it looks so cool on the outside but after youve experience a full service luxury theater (affordable too I might add) its hard to go back and Avalon is dripping in luxury and refinement and Regal just doesnt live up to that... They need to take a few notes from iPic, Studio Movie Grill (new ones), Movie House and Eatery, AMC Dine-In, etc...Hope this helps
Avalon has been our favorite theater for years. But the last few times we’ve gone, I have been disgusted by the poor condition and lack of cleanliness. The seats, floors, lobby, everything is so dirty. The recliners are cracking and in bad repair. I understand being understaffed but our last visit was not a busy night. Very disappointing.
Great movie, but the counter service was not good. Supply shortage made for limited snack items despite advertising still up on those items. The counter employee seemed like she was having a bad day. However, the ticket scan employee always has a smile on her face during every visit.
This is such a nice theatre, it tends to be my first choice in the area when I meet up with friends. The reclining seats are very comfortable and the concession stand has a nice selection. On the weekends, you do need to plan ahead and purchase your tickets in advance because the shows are often sold out.
Great theater in a booming location. The theater was relatively pretty clean and the reclining seats were very nice to better enhance the movie experience. Didnt really have too much involvement with staff other than getting concessions and getting our tickets scanned, but in the limited run-ins, they were nice. The concessions, like any theater, are a very expensive but thats become to be expected. We will very likely go back to this theater.
I usually have a perfectly normal movie-going experience at this theater, but not on Thursday (12/9) or today (12/11). I went to see Monsta X - The Dreaming, and both times there were issues with the film, likely an aspect ratio issue. The English subtitles for the film were cut off, so you could only see the top half of words - not good, as this is a concert film where dialogue/interviews/narration are in Korean. On Thursday I notified staff within the first 10 minutes of the film, and initially they tried to joke with me, its supposed to be like that, but did say they would look into it. Multiple other viewers also notified them and about 20-30 minutes later, the screen suddenly blinked out for a moment and the issue was resolved. I wasnt happy with exactly how staff initially reacted but since the problem was attended to, I didnt have much of a complaint. This being a limited event with only two showings, I went again this evening. As soon as I saw the problem re-occurring, I notified staff, who said they would look into it. Others notified staff as well, including a friend who came with me, but all they received were excuses that staff called a technician despite what seemed like a good portion of the theater staff standing around all in one spot. The problem was never fixed. If staff had been polite and prompt in addressing the issue, even if it couldnt be resolved I would have no problem. It was the attitude of staff; the fact that they didnt communicate with viewers (pause the movie and let us know theyre working on the problem, wouldve been nice) or apparently each other - considering this same issue occurred and was resolved two days prior but they couldnt resolve it a second time; didnt even offer refunds when the problem was never resolved, even more surprising as this involved a more expensive ticket as it was a special event.I understand that its the holiday season and that staff shortages and turnover are a real problem, and typically I am very understanding of issues that come up. But this seems less a staff is spread thin issue and more of an issue with communication and perhaps training. The only things I was satisfied with on this visit were the people working at concessions - kudos to you all as you had busy lines - and the young woman scanning tickets, who politely listened to me when I told her about the films issue and genuinely seemed concerned about getting it solved.
Seats are awesome, big screens, place for cup holder and food tray. Easy to buy tickets online and scan the tickets to go inside. Ticket line at the box office tends to get crowded sometimes depends on the time of the day. There are ticketing machine inside which is easy to use and avoid the long line outside. The concession stand lines are terribly long and moves very slow. I wish they open more register when line is long. You can also get cocktails, wine or beer from the bar and take with you. Overall clean theater and in a great location!
Really disappointed in the response from the staff to an issue with the film playback that occurred during both instances of a special showing of Monsta X: The Dreaming. The movie, which was a docu-film/concert for a non-English speaking artist, was subtitled and at both showings on 12/9/21 and 12/11/21 the playback was not set to the correct aspect ratio, which meant the subtitles were not visible and instead were cut off at the bottom of the screen. Viewers who paid for tickets that were more expensive than the average film, and for a limited showing, were not able to understand what was being said due to this problem. On the first night, after receiving complaints from several viewers, the staff managed to fix the issue almost halfway through. On the second and final night the staff never fixed it, despite again receiving multiple complaints. This was clearly an issue that could be fixed, and it speaks to the professionalism of the staff (including the manager who was made personally aware of the issue by a viewer) that they were not able to fix it. No staff member took the time to step into the theater and personally see and understand the problem, and instead the staff said they didn’t understand the issue and struggled to explain it to the video technician over the phone. If one person had just gone into the theater, they could have just witnessed it. This issue significantly impacted the viewing experience for the entire audience and honestly, since it was not possible to actually view the film as intended despite asking for the issue to be fixed, I believe the theater should refund the audience members for the (higher than usual!) ticket price. It shouldn’t matter what the film is, it is the theater and staff’s job to make sure it plays correctly for the audience who paid to watch it. Please make a better effort to do so.
Went back after 2 years getting tickets was horrendous as the only option are self serve machines that are more expensive and not functioning well. The concession wait was 20 mins to be told they were out of almost everything even bottled water. They told me I could get water in a cup from the machine then tried to charge me SIX DOLLARS FOR DAMN TAP WATER...... they were great when they opened I will never go back. AMC has my business now
The parking sucked took 10 mins, and I had to battle entitled pedestrians hopping out into the street (like there isnt a crosswalk), got to the theater, stood in line for another 20 mins, then had to switch to another line due to the fact that I had cash. Then I waited in that line for 5 mins, only to recieve poor customer service and to be notified that a 13 yr old has to pay adult price? Cant vote, drink, or go to war but can pay for full price for a movie, I could understand if it was a 16 year old, but 13, really? If it wasnt for the 2 amazing individuals in the first lane, I would never be back.
I usually patron another Regal Theater on the opposite end of the Avalon Theater. However, upon learning of the reclining seats at this location I decided to visit. This theater is convenient and the Plaza as a whole is suitable for any date night. The establishment was very clean and pretty (including the Womens Restroom). At that time I suffered from a neck injury and the plush reclining seats and pull out tray really helped me to feel comfortable. The handicap seating was easily accessible and appreciated. The only thing I personally would critique is the popcorn. If Regal served fresh hot butter & salt for patrons to add at their convenience it would be so much better. Oh and include Raisinets to the concession stand :) Overall I really enjoyed my time at this theater and have recommended it to friends & family. I have since moved out of state but cant wait to visit again.
My whole family loves going to the theater and, since we lost our Roswell Studio Movie Grill, Regal Avalon is our current go-to. That said, iI was disappointed returning to the theater after 1.5 years of pandemic-imposed absence. For both No Time To Die and Dune, the big theater sound was awesome but, also, the picture was dim and blurry compared to our TV at home. After watching Dune, I came home and rewatched a scene or two to see if it was the theater or the film and things were much clearer and brighter (Dune is apparently a dim movie, after all). A bummer. We had a similar experience a few years ago at this theatre watching a reissue of Wrath of Khan but I assumed, at the time, it was the quality of the media not the projection itself. Alas. All that said, the bartender is awesome. The seats are so comfy, and the theater is part of a lively and fun space at Avalon. If they can just up the quality of their visual presentation, it’d be worth going back.
Location in The Avalon area is nice, but the actual facility doesnt quite measure up to the area. I have been to The Avalon tons of times almost go there at least a day or 2 weekly, but Id never been in the theater before so thought I would try it. First issues are the Kiosk dont work correctly, the touch pad is intermittent, it is very difficult to scan your rewards card from your phone and no matter how many times I tried and how many cards I used, it kept declining my credit card payments so that I had to eventually go to the service desk and have them process my ticket purchase. Once inside the carpet was dirty, not that it was a big deal, but if you are paying close to $17 a ticket for a 2 hour movie you just expect a little more. Once inside the actual room with the screen, noticed the trash hadnt been dumped from previous viewings and carpet was very dirty in some places and the seats although reasonably comfortable were pretty worn in the high contact areas and considering how the cleaniless of the place looked I was somewhat concerned if they even took measures to disinfect the place in between viewings so that made me a little uncomfortable. On to the concessions, Very limited staff, but they moved pretty quick. Popcorn tasted stale, asked for butter and it was barely added and almost not even noticeable once trying to eat it. It wasnt very good at all. I ordered the largest bucket you could get and didnt even eat a 4th of it because it tasted old, was tough and dry and had very little taste. Was like eating old rice cakes that had been left out of the packaging on a counter for 3 weeks. Im sure it had been popped in the early morning or a day before and probably left out in the open air. It was terrible. The movie I attended was a 10p showing. One positive I can say is the movie I went to see was good, the sound was good, there didnt appear to be a bad seat as far as a viewing the screen so viewing the screen nearly anywhere in the theater was good. The staff was pretty helpful with getting my tickets purchased. But considering where this theater is located and the clientele this area draws and the other nice shops, stores, boutiques and eateries that are basically built around it with it being the Keystone structure, one would think it would have been much, much, nicer and cleaner than what it was or is. I have been to theaters in less affluent areas, that charge a little less for tickets, that blows this one away. They are in a prime location, and charge premier prices, but the experience isnt up to snuff for what you pay for.
Shout out to LEAH in Customer Service for helping us rectify Regal rewards credits and app info. Thanks for providing such professional customer service in a day & age where good service is hard to find. Love this theater! So glad you are open again! See you for another movie again soon!
After eagerly waiting for theaters to open back up, we were so disappointed to find our favorite theater now serves Pepsi products instead of Coke products and the popcorn, which is the very best movie popcorn, was cooked with bad oil or butter so it was difficult to eat. They were also out of 2 of the other drink options I tried to select too.At least the staff was friendly and the theater clean as usual. Some bumps are expected after being closed and I hope should I visit again that it’s better experience.
I’ve been to this movie theater multiple times and each time I’ve gone the service has been horrible. Drink machines are always broken, and the staff is rude and not helpful. Today I went with a friend and after finding out the movie we wanted to watch was rated R, and not having IDs on hand, we were told to trade in tickets for another movie. When we went to customer service the manager was unhelpful and didn’t inform us that the tickets he gave us to the other movie was already almost over. We ended up watching 20 minutes of the end of a movie and left. Do not go here.
Avalon used to be a nice theatre now it’s tacky damage lounge chairs are embarrassing to take guests or enjoy yourself. At $16.50 a ticket you shouldn’t have worn out seat with ripped leather at the headrest. During the shut down for Covid was a great time to fix before reopening.
Hard to believe the almost 20 year old Regal on Medlock is in better shape than this one. Went to a movie the other night, multiple ticket machines were broken so I had to wait for the one person working the register because the other four in the back werent on register, seat and tray were dirty as were the bathrooms toilet seats.
This will forever be one of my favorite movie theaters. We go here all the time. You can order things other than just standard movie theater food and all different types of drinks with or without alcohol. The seats are nice and they recline so you can watch the movie comfortably.
Nice theater with multiple screens. Sound quality was good and the seating arrangement was perfect. Like the crowd which was there to watch the movie. There are many food options to enjoy in between your movie. Clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall a nice weekend outing with friends. Best seats of any movie theater around Atlanta! This is from a frequent movie goer thats been all around town. Great ambiance, Excellent place to hang out, eat and shop, very well maintained. Went to the movies at Regal, another nice addition to this place. There are some really good brands to shop from here
This has turned into my only theater that I go to. The reclining seats are set up for two, and some of the most comfortable. I have seen many movies here and all the formats are incredible. The best is being able to reserve your seats online. The place is always clean, no sticky floors, and you can get an adult beverage. The best thing though right outside the doors is multiple different restaurants.
Wonderful place to watch a movie! The reclining seats are one of a kind and create the ultimate movie watching experience. The facilities were very clean as well. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is pricing. We went at 6pm on a Tuesday and prices were nearly $15.00 a piece for adults. Also, concessions are expensive as well.
The theater is clean, comfortable, and in gorgeous Avalon. The food selection was surprisingly robust and didnt take that long to cook. Its a little pricey for food, but not horrible. We had an issue with a live broadcast and they were all over it, making sure everything got taken care of and helped us switch out tickets to a later showing. It was surprisingly good customer service.
Very comfortable theater. Automatic reclining seats. Very clean, good sound system, customer friendly employees. As a bonus, its located in the middle of Avalon, so lots of restaurants and other shopping nearby. Parking garage is located a short walk away. Overall, very up to date theater showing latest movies.
Bought tickets through the app and they did not match the app seating chart and seats were way too close! R come here because you can order a beer and watch the movie but there was nothing in the website that’s rated that this bar was closed nor was there any explanation given as to why it was closed. The worst experience ever here.
ProsAs far as movie theaters go, this is one of the best. The audio is amazing, the screens are amazing. They have a lot of screens with more seats than other movie theaters. The seats are super comfortable and they all recline.ConsPrice is very high. Youll be paying around $17 for your non imax, non 3d movie. The seats are super comfortable and they recline, which is great, but the seats are set up in pairs. So two seats are combined, with an armrest in the middle that you can put up. The issue is, the arm rest doesnt go the entire way up, and you cant go in between the chairs, defeating the purpose of being able to raise the armrest. You cant treat it like a sofa(which is their goal) and sit close to your significant other. This wouldnt be a complaint if the arm rest werent able to move in the first place, but they can, they were just designed poorly.
Our favorite place for a movie, we love the recliner seating, and we always reserve ahead of time. We have adult children and go around Christmas time when we can get everyone together. That way your seats are reserved and it is a good experience. As any cinema the food is expensive. It is nice that you can purchase a beer and enjoy the movie, a beer will run about $8 each plus your tip. Trays also attach to the reclining seats for extra comfort in case you decide to have food, which is also available. Nice clean, bathrooms the accommodate after the movie nicely, very seldom have to wait. Also join Regal membership, and you will get to see a preview for free from time to time.
It is a nice place, very comfortable and clean, sound system is very good quality, etc. The only reason why I give them 4 stars and not 5 is because they sell locations too close to the screen that are not appropriate to enjoy a movie at all, considering they cost the same as any other location. I dont think that is acceptable for a premium movie theater. On a theater with these rates, any seat should have a good view. The good thing is the manager accepted very friendly to change me my family tickets for the following day. Thank you!
Everything was smooth and amazing for the price, my father and I went in and got our tickets in a very fast paced manner. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The theater is comfortable, we didnt have to move our seats at all incase people went to use the restroom. The sound quality was amazing as well, and the screen is larger than life.
Very nice theater in the Avalon. Great place to come early or leave late. Plenty of surrounding shopping and dining before the movie. The theater is very nice and clean. Recliner seats are very nice. I think it is a little pricier than typical theater but it is cleaner than most theaters and atmosphere is nice!
Great movie theater with awesome service. The lobby is a bit small, but you are there to see a movie not the lobby. Once in the theater, the seats are amazing with full electric reclining features. The screens and sound system will knock your socks off, making you feel as though you are in the movie. Regal Avalon 12 is a great place to go see a move, but remember to plan early since the seats are reserved.
We really enjoy going to this theater. Its very convenient. The reason for four stars only has to do with the price. We LOVE the reserved reclining chairs and recognize the we need to pay a premium for that amenity. I still think 15 or so dollars for a matinee showing is too much.
While the setup of this theatre is great and the seats are awesome, our experience today was not as favorable. They were completely understaffed so after waiting for 15min at the regal bar (along with others) decided to stay dry and head to the movie as there was no hope anyone would show up and serve. When walking in the theatre, disappointment again as it was not cleaned up with popcorn and drinks everywhere.Did see some personnel last minute but theatre had already filled up with people.Maybe it was lack of personnel showing up in the afternoon of New-years eve but not what I expected...
This theatre is located in the newly built Avalon, an upscale outdoor shopping experience. You do need to reserve your seat here. The seats are the stadium with the reclining option. Theres a tray attached to the chair, for food, or for your personals, like a purse. The only negative I can say, and it goes for 90% of theatres, not just here, is the tickets are too expensive!! By the time you buy popcorn, soda, and 4 tickets, it is a small fortune.
Dont take the front row seats unless you know how close it is to the screen. The seating is amazingly comfortable and worth the price to me. Theres places to put food and drinks comfortably and its okay to eat. I would eat before but in a pinch its good enough, a bit overpriced, but that is how the movie theatres make money.
Occasionally it is hard to find available showings for newer movies and the parking situation isnt great. But the reclining leather seats are super comfortable even for a guy like me who is pretty tall at about 6 foot 1 and also has Parkinsons disease which makes the wide aisles a must have. There are theatres closer to my house but I almost always am happy to drive a little further for a much better experience.
Im new to the Atlanta area and I have heard so much about how Avalon and the places in it are so great. Im not sure if it was over hyped or what, but this Regal theater was a little disappointing. There were a lot of broken chairs that didnt feel comfortable because you could feel a bar across your back when you reclined, another one the foot rest was broken and would retract on its own. Then yet another one was so loud when you adjusted it that it distracted everyone around. All of those issues in just three seats next to each other! The seats in theater 18 really need some help! The pleather was cracking and worn on the headrests, the little tables wouldnt always stay in place and there were no walls to minimize noise between rows like their nearest competitor.
The movie theater was superb. The whole process was filled with kindness, attentiveness, and the seats OH MY GOD THE SEATS. They recline. A Lot. I was so comfortable I almost fell asleep. Definitely worth the extra few dollars which can be saved because they do a student discount.
My goto movie place. Great seating, good food in the I restaurant as well as the movie counter. Its a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Im comfortable with recliner seating that goes all the way back. Also, if you are with someone disabled your companion gets in free. You dont have to prove your disability.
This place has the best auditoriums I have ever seen in any cinema. Screen is humongous, sound can punch your heart. Seats are super comfy and if you going with a small kid you can easily accomodate. Movie experience in this cinema is unbeatable. Parking is free here and this place itself is surrounded by shopping place and restaurants. If you go in the evening you will really enjoy the vibe of this place.
Good theater experience. Modern facilities and comfortable seating are some reasons I like going here. Its not cheap, thats for sure, but its not much more costly, if at all, than other local movie theaters.Ill definitely be going back. And the folks who work there are helpful and friendly, and that counts!
Tickets are way overpriced. Saw a 1pm matinee for almost 15 bucks. They get away with it for being at a huge outdoor shopping center. Also the little trays connected to the seats just get in the way and are super annoying. Theater was clean though and movie sounded fine and screen was big. The price will keep me from coming back sadly.
It was nice experience to watch movie in big screen. Though we got seating very near to screen, we have not felt any discomfort while watching.. seating is really good and very comfortable. I thought I got screwed by getting front seats but actually not. Enjoyed movie and good experience. Have fun and enjoy holidays👍
While the theater seats are quite comfy, I was extremely disappointed in the actual movie watching experience of this theater. The overhead lights stayed no-so-dimly lit throughout the whole movie, and the green exit signs were way too bright, which was incredibly distracting to the screen. I also think that the lighting of the film projector could have been adjusted a little better- the digital lighting was a little too dark in parts and too bright in others. This was the second movie Ive seen in this theater and I dont care to return. For a $12 ticket, I want more than just a comfy seat, I want the real movie experience the way its intended to be seen.
The theater is a nice one with plush recliner seating. Ive visited here several times and I like the Avalon areas overall vibe. However, the drinks were flat and the popcorn had an good salted buttery flavor but it had so many kernels I couldnt enjoy it. The prices of the concession stand is a bit higher I felt than Cinebistro which is another nice posh upscale theater I frequently visit. Also, the theater had popcorn in my assigned seat and the gentleman had just left servicing before we entered so I expected it to be more tidy. I also thought the volume of the movie was a lil louder than normal, so it wasnt my favorite visit.
The seats are comfortable recliners and thats the extent of the positive aspects of my experience. There was smudge in the lens or protection room window which created a fuzzy area on the screen with a roughly 4 foot radius.Half way through the movie there was a technical glitch that created 30 neon green vertical stripes in the top right quadrant of the screen. Over the next 5 minutes people exited the theater, presumably to notify management. The movie paused, a manager stood in the exit doorway and said that there was technical problem and that they would restart the movie in a few minutes in hopes that it would fix the issue. Ten minutes later the movie resumed. As we exited I expected that a member of management would be there to acknowledge the issue but instead there were two employees to the right and one on the left who were socializing, making us feel like we were interrupting by walking between them.Technical problems happen but I was offended that management elected to hide in the box office instead of seizing this opportunity to apologize for the issue. I have to speculate that they were afraid of people requesting discounts or refunds. A note to management, wearing slacks and a tie doesnt make you professional. In the hospitality / service industry its demonstrating that you value your customers by prioritizing long term retention over the profits from a single botched event.
I took my daughter and her ffriend to see The Jungle Book although the staff was moderately friendly it felt like the theater was being run by a bunch of kids. Standing the concession line staff was playing 1 young lady acting as if she was going to jump over the counter, not to mention the concession was a mess. The actual theater was saw the movie in was a complete mess popcorn everywhere and the light that was over my seat seemed to be missing a cover so I sat in a packed theater with a bright piercing light shinning down on me. Ive been to this theater before & except better from it. Not a happy camper.
The seats and the movie were great, but the bar, the food/menu and the service staff were absolutely pathetic. The bar area was a sticky and litter infested slum. The menu, burgers are good, but Nachos done with potato chips? Ordering food with a request was a dismal failure as well, since the severely inexperienced staff was too busy being clueless and ignoring cleanliness to care about providing even a fragment of customer service. Why offer beer, wine and cocktails with a restaurant style menu when the effort behind providing it is less than minimal. Should you want to continue providing that garbage service in Avalon in Alpharetta, I can promise results that only end in failure. Right now, this cinema can provide great seats (Still dirty), but if you desire food and a cocktail, I highly suggest that you eat at any one of the restaurants in Avalon that actual give a damn about their customers prior to going to the movie. Some antiseptic wipes would not hurt to wipe down the seats.....
I really like the Avalon area and the theater. I do not like the wait for the concessions. Thats really my only issue. You almost have arrive 20 mins before the movie starts. The management should be able to fix their speed of service, especially on high capacity days. Parking can fill up on the sides parking areas, so you might want to arrive 30 mins before your movie, if getting concessions and you have to park.
Really awesome theater with the reclining seats. Nice location in the Avalon shopping center. Theres a Marlowes next door and you can sit by the huge fountain in the summer that they turn into a ice skating rink in the winter. I LOVE this place. Boys, take note: excellent place to take a first date!
Zero customer service but the reclining seats are comfy and exceptional! The staff barks at the moon, however.2nd trip to the theater: took 15 minutes to buy our tickets because there was 1 worker (extremely slooooooow woman working alone at 8pm on a Sunday night) and had to skip the ridiculously expensive concession stand because they had only 2 young men working. I stood in that line for about 10 min and it never moved. What a joke!!! Whoever manages this theater not only should be fired, but should get out of management.
My aunt came to Georgia with her husband and newborn. She visited this theater in hopes of seeing US. She and her family were turned away with no explanation. This is absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable as I always take my newborn and husband to theater. We will not be visiting again and will tell many about the experience. I felt absolutely terrible they drove 2 hours for this treatment and waste of money on tickets they purchased online. Unacceptable. I can not believe she experienced this and hope management handles this situation. Hoping it wasn’t a racial situation but only you can assume if you aren’t given a explanation.
Not sure, if it was just a bad day for them or what. Ordered a stand regal 🍕 was told didnt have that. (Watched someone else @ hot line receive the 🍕). The only menu was located on wall next to hot line where you pick up your food.(would have been nice before ordering.) Wife had to return her cheese burger 2x and it was still messed up. Lobby and bar appeared clean and well maintained, nice seating with table trays and leg room.
I saw Bohemian Rhapsody we had a great time. I loved the big chairs and the little tables. We did have a problem with the bartender taking so long to get our drinks. There was only one other couple getting drinks and it took him at least 20 minutes. Everything else was very good.
I didnt use a movie rewards program until Regal Avalon came into my life. Everything about the experience feels like going to the movies should be: leisurely walking to the theater after dinner knowing your specific seats are reserved. Not to mention these are the most comfortable seats you can find in public.
Ive been coming to this theater for the past year and a half. Theres a lot to like about this place; reclining seats, large screens, great location, full bar and food menu. On the surface, this should rank an easy 5 stars. The main problem, and its one thats been nagging me for a while, is that the SCREENS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH. Casual moviegoers who see less than 10 movies a year are not going to notice this, but as someone who goes on a weekly basis and frequents other theaters in the area, this problem is indeed real, and has persisted ever since I started going. At first I thought maybe it was a particular film or auditorium, but time and time again I see movies at this theater projected that look dim. Scenes during day are passible but any scenes set at night/low light are simply WAY TOO DARK, and difficult to make out any fine detail in the image. My guess is that this is a cost-saving tactic by the theater owner to reduce overhead energy costs. But at $15 a ticket, the movies shown should look GREAT, not passable or kind of murky. My hope is that the theater manager will see this and understand that these things dont go unnoticed, and that moviegoers deserve the best presentation possible, not a cost-saving compromise. Its a shame, because this theater does have quite a lot going in its favor, but I wont be wasting any more money here until the screens are projected at their proper lumens/light levels.
This Regal has the best reclining seats, fantastic view of the screen, clean bathrooms, helpful staff and comfortable environment. The reason it only gets 4 stars instead of 5, is because they dont have the nice drink dispensers with dozens of rrink options so if you want a diet drink your options are only diet Coke and water - thats it. In 2018 (almost 2019), I expect a little more than that. And the line to get concessions is really long and takes a long to get through so if you want food, come really early.
Love the wide reclining seats and spacing between rows. That said, the sound of movies always seems off, and the food is pretty underwhelming. Take off a star for that, but add it back because they do have a bar. What can I say; I love me a glass of wine or a cold beer w/ my movie!
You reserve seats, but dont enforce it. Seats are dirty. Trays are sticky--they clearly dont clean very well. They also give you a wristband for drinks, but make you show ID every time you go to get one. Whats the point? They tout being better than regular theaters but are much worse.
Clean, close near parking lots, great location, and nice customer service. Seats are wide enough and comfortable. If you buy a ticket through online, thats the fastest way to go in.Foods on the menu are good, but various combos might give more choices to customers... in my opinion.
Watching movies here are great! You get four stars because your customer service at concessions is not great. Their attitude always looks like they would rather be somewhere else. I could actually live with that, but it’s very annoying that every time I order Cheetos popcorn it seems to be an inconvenience. The last time my best friend ordered it she was told they ran out, and a manger happened to over hear this and said, we didn’t run out, you just need to make more. Last night, I ordered the Cheetos popcorn and was told they ran out. When I told them what a manager said the last time, the boy told me, “We could make more, but it would take awhile.” Your Cheetos popcorn is awesome, but if it’s that much of a pain and inconvenience to prepare it, just take it off your menu.
The theater is beautiful. That said, the problem is the staff. My girls were on break from school this week and my 16-year-old wanted to go with one of her friends to a movie called Kingsmen: The Golden Circle, it is rated R. Both girls parents agreed that it was OK for them to go see. They are both 16 years old. So I googled to find out if I would need to go in with them because I had to take my 13-year-old to gymnastics practice and couldnt stay through the movie. The following answer came up when I googled, I asked: Who is allowed to see rated R movies. This is what came up.Photo ID is required for proof of age. You must be at least 17 with a photo ID, which includes your birth date, to purchase a ticket for yourself for an R rated movie. If you are under 17, or do not have a photo ID, your parent must come to the theatre to purchase your ticket for an R rated movie. So I went online and paid for their tickets and took them to the theater.I went in with them and bought them a drink and popcorn from the concession stand. Then we went to the ticket taker so that they could go in.The ticket taker said that they could not go in without an adult with them, so I asked him if I could speak with a manager. Maya (manager) came over and said no, that even though I was standing there to give permission for them to go in, they still could not go in, that its policy. She tried to get us to have them watch a different movie but that is not what they wanted. That is not why we were there. I told her we would just get a refund and come a different day and time. After Maya refunded me the tickets she said we would also have to give our popcorn and drink back if we wanted to be refunded for those.I asked her if she was kidding and she said no. Then I said why do you want them back, youll have to throw them away since theyve been eating and drinking out of them. She said it was policy. She was not pleasant and did not have the customer in mind at all. I dont believe she should be in a position to take care of any customer service situation.I went to the concession stand where she asked me to go for the refund of the Coke and the popcorn.Another manager came over to refund the concessions. Her name is Bailey. I told her the situation because I felt like what was happening was uncalled for and over-the-top. Bailey replied simply that it was policy, that she had to have the popcorn bag and the drink back.We left today very unhappy with Regal Cinema. I hope in the future they hire people with better management skills, I dont know if Ill be back to find out. Very unfortunate since we live so close by and we have frequented this theater since it opened at the Avalon. After writing the above text, I did follow up with Regal Avalon. I spoke with the Night Manager Jonathan and explained him the what happened. He spoke kindly and read the Regal policy on rated R movies to me, which is as follows:An R-rating on a movie means children under the age of 17 can get in only with a parent or guardian who is over the age of 21. But some theaters are tightening their rules. Children under the age of six are not allowed into R-rated movies at Regal Cinemas, even when theyre accompanied by an adult. Mar 19, 2016He then apologized for the way we were treated because of the situation. Him, understanding that we misunderstood! He then asked for the names of the team members who did not handle the situation well.I truly hope that Maya and Bailey can somehow learn to be as capable as Jonathan is, of empathy and concern for their customers and how they feel.Jonathon asked us to come by and get complementary tickets for a future show. Because of his kindness and his willingness to listen to us, the client, we will go back and you have a 3star rating instead of a 1star.
$52 for a family of four to sit in the front row of the theater, where you cannot see the entire screen. The cleaning crew was late and made us stand outside until 9 minutes before the posted started time. Luckily, the guy running the projector cant tell time either because the 20 minutes of previews started 16 minutes late! Awesome experience Regal Avalon.
Reclining leather seats, assigned seating, friendly and helpful staff, and a large menu are major selling points for this theater. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the queso blanco nachos, as they were not a winner in my group. Overall, this is a great theater, if a bit pricey.
This is my favorite movie theater. We drive over from Gainesville because we love being able to pre-select our seats and the leather recliners are pretty posh. Its great buying the tickets in advance and knowing that, even if we get to the theater just as previews are starting, we wont have to sit in misery, necks bent backward in the front row. There is a bar here if you want beer or wine to take into your movie, as well as some interesting concessions like cinnamon roll bites, corn dog bites and soft pretzels in addition to the usual popcorn and candy. Many folks will bring a blanket to curl up under as they enjoy their movie in a personal recliner with stadium seating. The sound is great and the aisles are roomy...its a great movie experience.Right now Im loving the Regal Academy Awards pass too - all seven Best Picture nominated movies for $35. I ate way too much popcorn and slurped down two large cherry freezie drinks, but I saw three movies tonight and cant wait to go back for more!
All is normally good at this cinema EXCEPT ordering food, popcorn, sodas at the bar. The female that took our order was beyond slow, JUST LIKE LAST TIME, even after telling her we were trying to get to our seats in time. She seemed to throw herself in EXTRA SLOW after we told her that. We have been to the movies twice more since that night, but DID NOT GO BACK TO REGAL AVALON because of her poor attitude in (it appeared) purposefully trying to make us late. Whoever manages the place or bar area should hire people that are happy to have a job OR GO HOME. Heck, if you cant get popcorn and 2 drinks and a candy bar in less than 15minutes (with NO ONE ELSE IN THE BAR AREA), then you are a Dunce. Management really needs to up their game and supervise your employee cause she is costing you repeat business.
Love that you get to choose your seats ahead of time, and how spacious the seats are. The fact that they recline doesnt hurt either. This gives you time to hangout around the Avalon and not have to stressed about getting to your seats early. AND they have a bar next to the concession stand for +21 beverages...
What a dumpy, overpriced theater. Popcorn is super salty and butter flavored--no melted butter to put on it. Soda is dispensed by the cashier and they DO NOT have Coke Freestyle machines. All the preshow ads in our theater were in black and white for some reason. Womens bathroom had no toilet paper in a majority of the stalls causing chaos when the movies let out! I will never go to a Regal again.
If you are not a rich white person dont even bother with this whole shopping center. The ticket price is insane. Who can afford to take their family to movie here? Theresking during the times people go to malls. Theres tons of kids hanging out by their parked cars and hiding around the parking complex. The drinks were not horribly priced, but I feel they got enough out if my wallet with that redicouls ticket price. I will do my best to never return to this theater or shopping center ever again. Why anyone wants to fight through this many people just to see a movie is beyond me. I would only recommend this place if youre already at the mall.
I went to see Parasite and the movie is amazing but I asked for a cup of ice and it was do tiny that a baby wouldnt think about using it. For what you charge a regular cup of ice should be the size not a cup that you get at the dentist to rise your mouth out. And the parking is the worst I have ever seen. I had to park at a bank.
It is really great place to watch movies and do shopping. The ambiance is really great and overall setup is superb. You have good choice of shopping outlets and movies playing. Nice place to bring kids and family and enjoy the weekends. Movie watching is also really great and comparatively cheaper than other available options.
Nice theater, comfortable seats, assigned seating, which is nice.I removed a star for food and bar ... And only because it is in an upscale area. The bar always takes longer than I want. My wife has to be present for me to order her drinks. Had to get wrist bands like I am in a Panama City Beach club.I want this to be more like Alamo Drafthouse. I want seat service. I want foodie grade yums.... But the sound and picture are great, so go see a movie there, then to go one of the great restaurants in walking distance.
Apparently tickets have an up charge compared to other theaters because of their seating, which isnt a big deal. I had to leave before the movie or film previews started. I got re-admit passes that I was told were only good for that theater (they werent), and told I wouldnt need to pay the up charge again. I tried to go back in with the re-admit passes and was told I had to pay the up charge again.
Nice comfortable place inside Avalon mall. Seating is new and comfortable, compared to any other theaters in the area. They run good deals on kids movies during holidays. Entering from Westside parkway entrance and parking in the backside garage would be convenient, as driving through the mall is a nightmare during rush hour.
Regal Cinemas at Avalon is a great facility. Quality treats and eats. The bartenders are attentive and prompt. The menu at the bar has a good selection of bar foods. My wife and I had the wraps and they were pretty good considering we ordered them at a movie theater bar. Candy selection is a little weak at times but we usually can find something that will suffice. The fifth star is lost because this place can be a mad house and the sanitation can be lacking in the restroom facilities.
Reserved seating. I dont like reserved seating because I prefer looking around in the auditorium to pick seats. It also slows down ticketing (looking at diagram to pick seats) & with popular movies, can split up your group when there are seats orphaned between groups. Great, comfortable, wide, powered reclining seats with swing away tabletop. Newly built in a trendy, nice (despite my being not trendy) live/play development. I generally prefer AMC theaters but Black Butler wasnt playing at any local AMCs. Expensive ($15+), as expected. Parking & retail were crowded even on Wednesday (Tues? Not weekend, anyway) evening. Theater wasnt overly crowded.
Went to watch the new Fast & Furious. A father and his two young sons were in the back row of a nearly-packed theater, the sons yelling to each other throughout the entirety of the loud movie to be heard over the movie. I went out of the theater and asked a manager to do something. Nothing. Two hours of action-packed sound and constant shushs from many annoyed people sitting in the back rows. Come on, Regal. If someone has a complaint about a serious noise issue, do something.
On 1/31 - I had the worst experience ever with Regal movies. I’ve purchased my tickets online on Fri 1/29 to reserve seats for me and my kids. I walked in on 1/31, stood in the food line, spent $30 on popcorn and drinks and just to find out at the entry barrier that the show was cancelled because there is a festival at the screen where my movie is supposed to show. Horrible customer service, horrible management, horrible display - nothing was showing at the front or on the display screen to remotely indicate that the movie is cancelled and will not show at 11:45. While the personnel at the theater refunded my tickets, the next show is at 3:15 and it is already booked and no good seats are available anywhere. What’s worse is that the management team didnt know that the screen was taken until a customer walked in and told them that the screen was taken over by the films festival ... WHAT are you kidding me - that is even worse not know that your theater was taken over by the festival event!!!! The person who scheduled this festival event without letting people know should be fired, the management at this theater should all be replaced with professionals that know what they are doing ... you are a horrible company!I will tell you what my 8-years old daughter told me Sorry doesnt help!

2022-07-05This theater is not the closest to where we live. But I often like to go there because the theater is very nice and clean. The concessions are great and the staff is very nice. We went to see the Batman at this theater and had a very pleasant time. The movie is 3 hours but with the reclining seats it made it feel more enjoyable. Overall the movie experience was great. I’m going to see Thor love and thunder in this theater and I hope it’s as great an experience as last time.

2022-06-19Excellent movie theater for watching movies. Very comfortable seats and wide aisles for navigating to our seats. The theater seemed very clean and maintained with the only exception being high volume wear. It was my first time back to the movies post pandemic, so I was shocked with concession prices and the inability to pay for concessions with cash.

2022-01-25The movie presentation was great.Seating is breaking down, from cracking and STICKY seat covers to the mechanics not working.Large popcorn is mostly bits and kernels / 50% waste product that is direct result of employees not caring about anything other than their iPhone and can’t be bothered to look up from it to look at the customer in the eye. Dirty theater and bathrooms. This is the same experience we have had the last 4 visits. We bought in to the unlimited pass for the year and you give us a 1.00 theater experience. Such a disappointment. I am embarrassed to tell people this place is in Avalon. Much less that I am locked in to seeing movies here.I would not post pictures of the nasty bathrooms because that’s just wrong.

2022-06-11The movie was absolutely amazing but the theater it’s self needs A LOT of TLC!The bathroom(s) smell so bad of urine and the seats( in the theater)are peeling apart. It was my first time going to that location and sadly my last.. I’m not going to lie, I was disappointed with the conditions of that theater… especially since it’s in the Avalon.

2022-03-14The location is awesome, with easy access to some great restaurants to grab a bite to eat before or after the movie, but that’s the only positive unfortunately. The seats are raggedy with leather so cracked, you can see the filling. That honestly takes away from the experience of enjoying the movie. For a theater that was built in 2014 and it being considered a “luxury” regal cinema, this is surprising. If you like a theater with nice seats, go to Cinebisto at Halcyon or Amc Phipps

2022-06-16Wow..this use to be the nicest movie theater. The leather seats are crumbling and the cup holders look a mess.. Floors dirty.. I think theyre severely understaffed. This can be the only excuse. Had they used some sort of leather conditioner, maybe they could have saved the seats. Such a shame! Will not be back until I hear things have improved. It just feels unsanitary.

2022-04-053.5 stars! Like going to Regal at Avalon. They could use some seat upgrades as the chair material is now pretty rough and the tables tend to not stay in place or are broken. They could also use some better cleaning between movies but overall the chairs are comfy and the theatres can be big depending on which one you get (but you can check via the app which ia suepr convenient). We come here all the time and havent had many issues. Lately, it does seem like the cleaning is a bit lacking which is weird because you usually see employees around just chit chatting (which is fine but I would expect the theaters to be at least clean).

2022-06-05This used to be the best theater in Atlanta. Biggest screen and lie down recliners. But the place is totally dilapidated, with the recliners all torn up really badly. Everything looks old and damaged. I hope Regal sees the many reviews complaining about this and quickly fixes it.

2022-04-17Been to this theater many, many times. Even at its busiest it always seems well staffed and the lines move quickly. Its kept clean and tidey in the theater rooms with spacious comfy seats.

2022-03-25They were unable to serve me what I was asking for saying they were under staffed and they closed at 8:00, I felt like I will not visit again. Just over priced nachos and still popcorn. But I will give them three stars for the theater being clean and the seats are comfortable but the service is lousy they locked me out as I walked out to take a phone call and all around bad place to visit right now hopefully they can get it together soon
