A few years ago my business colleagues introduced me to this restaurant, but the other location. My team and I were in town for business and we decided to bring the new team members. We arrived around 6 pm and were immediately seated. We opted to sit outside because of COVID-19. Shannon was our waitress and she was awesome. Our drinks, appetizers and entrees were served very quickly. The food was hot and delicious. One team member sent back her shrimp and grits because they were a tad bit watery, but the kitchen staff was able to rectify the error. Most of the team got the Thursday night might special... Fried Shrimp Feast. This place is good for date nights, business dinners, families, friends and singles. Its definitely a must try, if youre in the area.
I eat here at least once a month. if you love seafood this is the place. Beyond casual, tshirt and jeans is fine. They write on the walls and tables I don’t really like that but who cares when the food is this good. Menu items between $10-$30 so it’s really good for the price. The fried shrimp are amazing, I’ll attach a pic of the $9 jambalaya bowl. TASTY!
It was a really nice, laid back atmosphere, where you can seat yourself. We decided to sit on the patio. The service was great, and the food was tasty as well! I had the sticky honey shrimp, and we ordered Buffalo wings for an app. The wings were fried crisp the way I liked them, and the ranch and blue cheese dressing was on point. Id definitely go back again!
I came for a drink with shrimp and grits... ended up falling in love with this place! Sat down at the bar and absolutely loved the atmosphere of Rhineharts. From the staff to the people who dine, everyone is in good spirits. Lets talk about the food... Incredible flavor!! It was everything I was hoping for and more. The bartenders can make a hell of a drink too.
Had a grand experience here, today! My daughter and I stepped out for a lunch date, and this place was the best place for it. This is my favorite local restaurant. The food is fantastic. The place is clean. The staff is very kind. That goes for both locations. We just happened to go to this one, today. The one in Evans is equally as superior. We will definitely be back again very, very soon!
I came with some friends (total 4 adults and 1 kid) and ordered a shrimp spread and dip (Sat daily special $6.99 instead of $9.99). The spread was basically a shrimp salad with some crackers. I was expecting some bread. The spread was seasoned well and would go well with some house made bread. Unfortunately, I had to eat it with some crackers. The service was decent and the waitress came to refill our drinks often. The bill came and 17% of gratuity was added.
Weve been here an hour and 15 minutes. Nice staff but no food. And weve only been able to get 2 bar drinks. Disappointing.Food finally arrived...wrong and cold!Update: they gave us our meals and drinks for free. Nice save.Update: after texting with the owner the next day we decided to give it another try. We had a much better experience. The kitchen even sent out a complimentary Cajun Grits Cup during our meals. Its refreshing to find an establishment that cares so much.
Been going to this restaurant for YEARS and i have always left after a great experience. Fantastic food, the fried cheese appetizer is absolutely amazing. I usually order a couple while Im there. The staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and hilarious. Nobody should leave Augusta without a visit to Rhineharts.
Food was phenomenal as usual (best.shrimp.anywhere!), staff was really nice and the place was clean. The only thing I would ever change is to offer at least a couple of tables with chairs or even a booth or two, sitting at picnic tables isnt always the most comfortable thing especially when you have kids with you. Otherwise its our familys favorite place to eat seafood!
Young man server was wonderful. Oysters on half shell were frozen, stringy, not cut loose from shell, steamed shrimp were not the usual large size I had told my guests about. They had none of the new popular Seltzer drinks, & prices were really UP!! Over $160. with 1 plate each / 4 people..no extras ordered & only 2 on sale beers. Not the way I remembered or expected.Nothing on SPECIAL for sure !Disappointed !
Quaint local place recommended to us when we were visiting Augusta. Very casual atmosphere, picnic table seating, customer graffiti welcome - its more like a local hangout for beers with friends. On the menu, almost everything is fried so not a lot to choose from us low carb customers.
I have been ordering the lunch shrimp & grits for a long time. I ordered one today but to my surprise when I went to pick it up and pay for it, I was told the price had changed. Okay no problem. When I tasted it, it was watery and tasteless. If youre going to raise prices at least make sure the food tastes good. Im so disappointed.
Ordered single catfish fillet plate; cole slaw & lemon wedges were missing, garlic bread was barely 2 bites, catfish had too much batter but fried nice and crisp, grits were just OK. Spoke to manager on duty to convey my dissatisfaction for lack of quality & costs. No consideration was offered with a simple question, how can I make this right? I will NOT make this mistake again, ever!
We always stop by on our way through Georgia. I place my order when we get an hour away and schedule it based on my ETA. My food is always fresh, hot, and ready for me when I arrive. Makes for a delicious and quick pitstop on our way down I-20. We are a family of four and we ordered some hushpuppies, shrimp and fries, fried cheese (highly recommend...especially if you love cream cheese), and a catfish sandwich. It was enough for us all to share.
The food here is absolutely delicious, which was evident as we were pulling up and there was hardly anywhere to park. Its a shame, now that Ive eaten it once I have to drive from Greenville to get it again. Great atmosphere, food, drinks, and staff. Cant wait to go back.
Overrated, over priced, 2 orders of lime butter talapia, lime butter shrimp, catfish poor boy, fried pickles. There’s way better food at chili’s if they don’t food poison you and way better seafood at red lobster. French market grille is a better restaurant for sure sure, go there. This place has oily fried catfish sandwiches and salty talapia with plain salads and rice. Disappointing. Also the tables, the bathrooms, are all nasty, greasy, and sticky.I would recommend a sandwich from Burger King across the street instead. Good luck.
When I first arrived I thought I was being punked, the ambience was quite interesting. After my initial shock wore off I decided to give it a chance. I order the Shrimp Burger and it was AWESOME 😀. I also had the Blue Lit mixed drink and it gave me a nice buzz 🤗. All in all I enjoyed myself.
Great local place! Be sure to order the specials for some really great deals, which often are listed online. The entire St Pats weekend, they had a delicious mixed drink for $4, and specific bottles for $2.50. Combine those with regularly specials that run every week AND delicious food, you will immediately see why this is a local favorite.Obviously, theyre known for their Oysters. These were easily some of the best priced, best quality oysters in town. But other things to be sure to try - any of the chicken finger dishes, the French fries (especially with Ranch or Honey Mustard if you are a sauce person), or even just the burger. I cant swear by the few Cajun items as Ive not ordered them yet, and Im quite picky about Cajun food. But folks this is a real local gem. Its not swanky, its not glitzy. But its got a ton of charm, a hole-in-the-wall feel, and friendly staff!
Sat outside on a Sunday, got there about 11:30am after seeing the brunch spot Metro Diner was an hour wait. Was a GREAT choice for our meal! Not busy so finding a big picnic table was easy, cold bottle beer before noon too! Spent about three hours enjoying the food, music and atmosphere! Will be back! Also had a dozen oysters on the half shell that is not pictured! Everything was very good!
Great food! The building itself has a lot of soul and the outdoor seating is amazing. If you want to limit exposure to Covid and eat outside definitely go here. If you dont care about Covid... definitely go here! Finally, if you love food, in particular sea food, definitely go here!
The Fried Shrimp were perfectly seasoned, lightly breaded & fried & served with the BEST Tartar Sauce Ive ever had! The fries on the other hand were under cooked & wimpy. I had to finish cooking them when I got home for a snack but the Shrimp is what I came for & they sure delivered! Ill just have to ask for well done fries next time - or get a salad.
Try their lunch specials if it is your first time dinning at Rhineharts. Dont be frightened by the looks of this place.Their shrimp basket with fries are the best!I get the catfish sandwich with fries most of the time.We usually go to the location on Washington Rd. Friendly staff and great food!
This was my first time taking #BearTheServiceDog to any local restaurant. My fiancé and I were very pleased with the way we were treated...staff was professional as always...if you are an owner of a Service dog and have a craving for some great shrimp, go see Rhineharts on Washington Rd.
This is a great seafood place. Very casual like a typical beach bar. Living in Florida, I would put this up against some of our best! The shrimp basket is perhaps the best I have ever had. Doesn’t look like much and is a come as you are, but for great casual seafood it would be hard to beat anywhere. Highly recommended.
This was my first ever visit to rhineharts. I know, lived in Augusta all of my adult life and just now coming here, for shame😁. It was good, I loved it and will definitely return. The drink menu was top notch and not too pricey. The waitress did an excellent job, she told us it was her first day so their training must be good. The kitchen had messed up my wifes order, but instead of bringing it to the table they brought out some complimentary shrimp and apologized for having to take extra time to do it right. Fantastic customer service. Great food. Good drinks.
The character and ambienceof this restaurant is the simple fact that they have been open for at least 30 years. You eat at picnic tables and your food is served on styrofoam plates. But....their seafood is to die for!! Their prices are unbelievably reasonable for the amount of food you are given. You will not be disappointed or go away hungry.
Poor service, started the day. Then the food came not any better! One entree was hot the other cold. Tried the jambalaya, burnt sausage and a whole can of what tasted like tomato paste. I would have done better eating at Captain Ds.And this place was rated the best seafood in augusta.
Usually rhineharts Oyster Bar is my favorite place I havent been there since the pandemic started because everything was opening back up we decided to give it a try I dont know if it was just me or my waitress just really didnt like us me and my daughter and my niece and she was really rude to us wouldnt come give us decent service the other lady brought out the food. She never came back to the table to ask if we needed anything we had to get up and go to the next table to retrieve stuff off their table because she did not come back to ask if we needed ketchup sauce and then when we finally got her attention she told us to hold on one minute and she had a conversation with the next table about random stuff she was really rude to us and I dont understand if we did something to her. I called the manager over and explain why I did not I feel like she deserve anything extra from me this is the first time in a very long time that Im disappointing a service and Im the kind of person that give extra for doing just the basics
Last Friday I drove there to have lunch after reading they have outdoor seating which was convenient for me because I have a dog. However, at the door they told me dogs are not allowed per owner’s policy. By the way, this is the first time I am hearing about dogs not being allowed at the outdoor area of a casual restaurant with outdoor picnic tables. I spoke with the manager and asked her to clearly state on the restaurant information on internet that the restaurant is not pet friendly at all. She has not done it yet so I’m writing it now to let you know.
There is no order in this place!! You walk in and basically try to get in where you fit in to place your order, since theres no greeter at the stand they have at the door. Youll surely be overlooked because every table is full and usually still has someones meal in front of you when you sit down, IF you can sit down! Standing isnt an options because its so tight and cramped, but if you can be patient and youre willing to wait for 15 or 20 minutes, a worker will eventually realize youre new and havent ordered. If youre under 21 and if its after a certain time (not even after 8) theyll refuse to serve you like they did me while I was PREGNANT and say you need to be accompanied by a guardian or someone 21 or older because they serve alcohol and their workers obviously arent responsible enough to ID and adequately serve alcohol to those of an appropriate age!!! Thats the reason Ive not stepped foot back in this place and wont ever again! I was baffled and tried to explain that I only wanted to order food and dont live at home with a parent or guardian and I have my own place and Im PREGNANT!!Their response was that they understood, but since they serve alcohol, those are their rules and I couldnt be served! That memory still resonates with me to this day and it show a lack of accountability on their part! Im disgusted!
We were a group of 7 and we all loved it. We sat outside, the service was excellent, the food DELICIOUS, the oysters AWESOME, great beers and nice cocktails. We had Shrimp Poboy, steam and raw oysters, chicken fingers, shrimp cocktail and everything was fantastic. The environment was really cool with good music. Nice parking lot.100% recommended!
We were referred to this restaurant by a family member that recently visited the establishment. We did our normal research but decided to try it out eventhough the Yelp rating was 3.5 stars. Be aware that the menu is deceptive for out of towners as well as vegetarians. They have whats called a Beyond Burger on the menu. This is NOT the Beyond Beef burger. I ordered this and realized after a few bites this was a beef burger. After bringing this to the waitresses attention she only brushed it off by saying that a lot of people make this mistake. (In this establishment the consumer is far from always being right) To add icing on the cake they promote oysters as a big thing on their menu which they were out of at 8:30pm on a Thursday. The server made us aware of that 15 minutes after we all placed our order. We made it through dinner begrudgingly. The next day my I called to speak to the GM only to be berated by the GM to boast that they had the Beyond burger on their menu before it became vegetarian option. I would never recommend this place to a friend or even someone I want to play a sick joke on
Been about a year or so since weve been here. We came back for the crab legs to discover they did not have them anymoe and noticed the menu had changed as well. We really wanted crab legs and was going to leave but decided to stay. I ordered the shrimp and grits. Lets just say its the worst Id ever had. It use to be great. Grits were instant, had that mash potato look and the cardboard box taste. Shrimp was boiled and grilled for what seemed like 10 seconds. Very chewy shrimp. Everyone elses food was cheap tasting. Poor quality ingredients. Theyve went down hill. Will not be returning. We drove 2 hours just to eat here. Very disappointed. Service was ok.
Came in Friday for a late lunch with my family. Overall it was a decent trip. Food was good (I got the Buffalo shrimp) and the atmosphere was nice. Only problem I had was the girl who delivered my food smelled of alcohol really badly and seemed to be tipsy and she didn’t seem to be any older than 18-19???? Her name was Frankie I think? Maybe she needs some help I’m not sure what her situation is but that’s very concerning. Me and my wife were very worried about her but didn’t want to cause a scene or intrude in her life. Food is great. Service is okay.
Came in today for my 1st time with my grandmother for her bday . Had a good time all the server’s are extremely nice . Food fills you up fast . I asked for grits with my combo instead of fries soon as the server saw they gave me fries she came running after the plate before I got to eat . Loved this place !
No as impressive as its made out to be online. I like the outdoor dining option and the food was OK hence the 3 star. The guy serving us didnt know if he was serving us or someone else... I dont know what that means. Anyways, we had a 30 minutes delayed before we even get to order drinks. Just sitting there like dummies waiting on no one... Until I decided to get the attention of a passing waiter.
I Love Rhineharts, but I was not happy with my last experience. It was Monday night and we got there after 8 and our waitress took drink orders and came back with drinks left again for 30 min no exaggeration and came back with waters which we didn’t ask for. We asked to order she said let me cash out the other table. So we asked for the spicy boil shrimp when she returned and she said it’s after 9 and we told her we were there well before 9 and just hadn’t ordered she said well it’s automatically in the system for a price change after 9. We were not happy. We still ordered took the food another 30-40 mins to come out which she came and said she was about to find a manager before we said anything. If it’s a Monday after 8 better order food first that was her fault we ordered after 9 to miss the special smh.
I usually look forward to eating here and always enjoy my food and the atmosphere. Tonight after getting my order to go, and spending around 50$ I was totally disappointed. The fries were horrible, the shrimp wasnt that great and the bread was just ok. Not a good night for Rhineharts, I think Ill wait before eating here again.
Good food but very poor service this last trip Im not sure why but our waitress was MIA the whole time and we had a different waiter/waitress every 8 minutes , our food was great, but wrong . Iv had good experiences here before but this last one definitely sucked, which isnt ok since I drive over an hour to get there.
It was myself and my husband. They tried to seat us in the bar area, which was way to dark. We moved out to the porch area, had to flag a waiter, and get our order put in. When we got our food they burnt the rice that was on my plate. Weve basically had to flag a waiter if we needed anything because we where basically ignored. This was my first time here, and frankly I am not impressed
I ordered my food for takeout. I was told it would be 10 minutes and they would be out with it. Well 25 minutes later I called them back and told them I still didnt have my food. The guy said let me check to see if its in the back. He brought my food to me and it was cold. He didnt even apologize. I was very disappointed.
I used to live here years ago and this use to be my favorite place. So while we are in town I had to come back. Its a Thursday evening at 5:00. Not busy at all. Service is TERRIBLE. The girl took our order aroynd 5:05. At 5:24 she come back asking what we ordered? We told her. She disappeared and its 5:40 and we still havent received our food. Meanwhile all these people that came in after us are eating. This is ridiculous!!
A Google search returns great reviews and high praise for Rhineharts Oyser Bar. The decore fit the feel of what I was expecting when we walked up to the door, but the food did not perform. The night started rocky when our party of six ordered a round of drinks, and we upsold by our warm and friendly waitress to, make it a double. But judging on the taste of the drinks, none of us noticed or felt even a dash of alcohol. We quickly came to the consensus that we essentially paid double for nothing. I could have had 10 drinks and blown a 0.0 and passed a field sobriety test. Im not satisfied that there was any alcohol in the drinks at all, let alone a double.I expect when a menu item is referred to as, blank special, its gonna come out and be a win. This unfortunately was not the case for, Franks Special. A dry chicken breast with raw onion and raw mushrooms on a bed of chopped romaine with slightly burnt toast was not what I anticipated based on the photos on the website. Others in the party complained about the sogginess of the stuff mushrooms, and the absence of fresh when it came to the oysters. This experience was a wash as a whole. Rhineharts amounts to a Nascar version of the Juicy Crab, and serves as an excellent advertisment for it.
Ok, so where to begin? Husband ordered fried shrimp and fried oyster basket, I ordered shrimp and grits. Hubby’s food was brought out, but they brought me the wrong order. I then waited 20 minutes for the correct order, hubby had finished his food, and our little one had started getting fussy so I asked to have my food to go. I have worked in the food business for years, so I asked for my meal to be comped because it was their mistake and I didn’t even get to enjoy it with my husband. The manager, who didn’t even come out and speak to me personally, could only comp it 50% because I was still taking it.. I mean well duh, I waited this long and we’re not going to stop anywhere else... Husbands meal was almost $20 and an extremely small portion. Oysters are not fresh, food is not well seasoned, portions are extremely small for the price, service is subpar.
In town from Atlanta and was not impressed. The breading on my Katfish was falling off and they had the greasy limp fries on top of my fish and shrimp. Completely disgusting and disappointed. The reviews were good so we decided to stop in only to be underwhelmed. Spent 48.00 for 2 meals. Beyond disappointed. If this is the best Augusta has to offer im sad for you.
Late lunch for my husband and I, after playing a round of disc golf. Beer was cold, oysters were good, shrimp was good, but my husbands burger was dry, over cooked and just blah with zero seasoning. We’re big foodies and always try to eat really good when we travel. We also learned our waitresses name about mid way through our meal.
If I had the ability to rate this place a “0” I would. We ordered for pick-up vía Doordash the wait was 17-23 according to the order. We waited over 1:45 minutes for our food. First, we went to the carry out area were told that the food was not yet ready. An hour later, my husband went inside to tell one of the waiters that we were waiting on our food. Apparently, Our food sat for over 30 minutes after done . The waiter intended to give us cold Food when she had finally got our food. To make matters worse she argued with me stating that next time we should call for carry out and proceeded to state that Doordash does not allows for pickup. We chose to order via Doordash because the 4 times we called the restaurant to place our order they never answered. My kids and I just wanted to leave, but my husband insisted. In the end my kids and I decided not to eat the food. I could not trust the quality of the food or if the staff would do something to our food. I DO NOT PLAN ON EVER GOING TO THIS PLACE AGAIN, Be careful service here is horrendous. I do not recommend, at all.
Always consistently good. Shrimp and Oysters are delicious. The Hamburger and fries is also very good. The place is kind of dumpy but everybody laughs about it. If you are looking for atmosphere you may (and probably will) be disappointed. But if you dont care about that but want really super food you will not be disappointed!!! They have been in business for over 30 years for a reason !!
Good atmosphere, service was great, oysters were very good, dont order the crab legs as they are of poor quality and not worth $22.49. My server Brittany was very helpful. Hope you get her as your server. I only gave three stars because the crab legs were so disappointing but it appears to be a great place to hang out with friends and do shots!
Have passed this establishment several times. The view from the main road caused me to bypass all those times. Then while searching for a nearby restaurant to out hotel, I saw the positive ratings of this place. So we decided to give it a try.Glad we did. Casual seafood dining. Decent prices especially compared to Joes Crab shack. The Crab legs had snap. The oysters were cold (raw) so I felt safe eating them.Laid back atmosphere.
The parking and seating situations are the only things stopping it from 5 stars. I dont mind parking far away, but walking through the mud to get to the restaurant is a little off-putting. It was very busy but we only waited about 5-10 minutes for a table to clear up. The service was good and the food came quickly. It was definitely hot and very tasty and there was plenty on the plate.
The food is awesome. I tried the crab legs and they were great; they stayed in tact as I pulled the shell from it. The fried shrimp and Arnold Palmer was good too. The place isnt the best looking as it has writing all over the walls but I think thats intentional. Overall, my experience was good; I had fast and good service.
The atmosphere is the only reason I would reccomend going here. Prices are very high and the food really wasnt that good. My husband got the oysters and I got one of their larger sized burgers. I didnt finish the burger because of how greasy and fatty it was, and my husband was still starving even after spending 40 bucks on oysters.
The food was nasty point blank. Anyone that has had seafood could tell this food was freezer burnt, and overcooked. The shrimp were as if I was chewing on gum. I had ordered the gumbo. The plate was at least 75% tomatoes. One of the others with me and I sent back our plates with them coming back out wrong, and overcooked. I even spoke with two managers one being the kitchen manager. Maybe it was a one off day! I dont think Ill go back..
Great food, great drink prices, great people working there. I had the Sunday special of 12 grilled buffalo shrimp and fries for 799. That paired with some 250 Nick Ultras and $4 ipas made it a meal and evening worth remembering. Great food and definitely worth the wait. Has a dive bar look and smell but the kitchen and staff are above report
Im only giving them a 2 because my waitress was exceptional. My how things change. I worked at Rhineharts in the 80s. The R&R was a staple of my diet. What used to be a fantastic BIG sandwich has been reduced to 2 sliders that dont contain enough meat to cover the bun. I usually had to take part of it home. Now I feel like I had an appetizer. So sad and disappointed. I havent been here in about 15 yrs and was looking forward to sinking my teeth into my favorite sammie!!
“Great atmosphere, great service and great food”The owner greeted us at the door and showed us to our seat! The service was outstanding and our server was extremely knowledgeable about how the chef prepares the food. Not the biggest menu. So the items on the menu are done very well. The owners wife is the pastry/dessert chef. Excellent!
The atmosphere is very good. I prefer casual places like this one. Also, it seems to be locally owned. The food was so so. I had clam chowder and shrimp & grits. Neither dish tasted bad, but they didnt knock my socks off either. I sat outside which is a big plus, but the smokers stood on the other side of the fence and the wind was blowing toward the tables and that was a big minus (I know the restaurant cant control the wind). I would go back, but with muted expectations. If you have a group and want to socialize, this would be a good place to go hang out.
I like the lay out and casual style of the place. Good drink selection. Cons I like my food made with some love that shows. Stuffed mushrooms are just stuffed with cheese with a green, tomato, and Italian salad on top.Wife got jambalaya no where on the menu said anything about tomatoes. This jambalaya was 3/4 stewed tomatoes and the other 1/4 was the rest of the ingredients. My shrimp and grits were ok at best. Would try again but not these dishes.
The food is delicious. Building is a dive. Service is friendly but not readily available. Beer is cold and drink special was fruity, cold and refreshing. Rhineharts states they are beyond casual and they do not lie! So if you want great seafood and can look past the rustic ambience, then this is your place.
Over-priced food that was bland as hell. I use to love this place a lot but its honestly lost its touch. Still nice to come back and see my name that Ive wrote years ago. Definitely a great place to leave memories but the food? Definitely not worth the damage to your pockets.
My husband and I met up here for lunch with our friend. It was our first time here and it was great! My only complaint is that there should be more lighting inside as it was quite dark. The atmosphere was very casual, with wooden picnic tables and writing in sharpie all over the walls from past diners. The service was very friendly, with constant drink refills and fast service. I got a half dozen raw oysters that came with crackers, horseradish, and cocktail sauce-delicious and it was less than $10! I also got the fried shrimp basket which was the lunch special. The shrimp were large and were breaded delicately, it was definitely worth it. On Tuesdays and Saturdays their crab legs are half off, so my husband got 1 lb for under $10. The food was affordable for seafood and it was nice to pop in for lunch in jeans, T-shirts, and yoga pants. This is not Red Lobster so dont expect the same experience. I would definitely recommend it when youre in the mood for seafood and just want to chill without the fancy restaurant environment!
This is my second time back after their covid shutdown. Food was good and service was good as well. However, got my bill paid nearly 20 dollars for a burger and drink. Would have paid an extra two bucks more just for fries if the waitress hadnt have said something. The burger does not have a price next to it on the menu so I figured it was the same price as before. I understand they went up on prices but $17 for a burger and fries is a little high. Used to come oftena and now I will be limiting my visits.
This is one of the best seafood restaurants in the city. It definitely gives you that homey feel when entering and seeing all the picnic tables as seating. The food is always fresh tasting and the customer service is top notch. You can never go wrong with this place as they consistently offer daily specials and drink specials on a regular basis.
What an amazing restaurant! Our server Ashley was awesome! We even had fun laughing at the plastic forks that continually fall through the spaces between the boards of the table. Its super casual and expect it that way! Would have loved to have had real silverware though. Still doesnt take the rating down. The food was worth driving two and a half hours from Atlanta.
The food was great. We had the lunch special shrimp basket. The shrimp was lightly bread and seemed super fresh. This place oozes local dive. This is good and bad. We want greeted nor was there a sign to say seat where you want. After a few minutes i just asked. The staff was pleasant enough just wish they would have made more of an effort to welcome the customers.
We heard about this place from some locals and checked it out. The Jambalya was really good. Their daily specials are priced moderately. We both had a fried shrimp basket and thought it was the best we have had in quite a while. Fresh shrimp, not frozen. We just moved into the area and are close by. We will make this a regular stop for lunch and dinner. Service was also excellent!
This place was even better than expected. Didn’t understand why it was extremely busy and parking lot full on a Monday at 8pm but then I saw the daily specials and realized why. The daily specials are a steal! Walked in and heard old country music blasting (which I love) and the bartenders were having a great time. Over time the music went from classic country to hip hop/r&b just good music all around. They do add 17% gratuity on the specials which was fine bc it said it on the menu and the bartender pointed it out as well which I appreciated. The shrimps were seasoned but mostly on the outside so the seasoning didn’t get on the shrimp. Ask for a little cup of old bay and season them yourself. You’re gonna have a good time here.
Beyond CasualTheir attitude and food reflects their slogan very well. The food was simple but perfectly prepared. The service was fantastic. It seemed like all of the wait staff helped each other out. If they ask you if you want some of the mango sauce to go with your meal, say yes. It is delicious.
I was pleasantly surprised by this place! Im not much of a seafood eater so I was worried that the menu choices remaining would be slim, but that was proven to be a baseless fear. The Cajun chicken and shrimp combo was amazing, and when combined with the very reasonable prices and ultra-casual atmosphere, it made for a wonderful dining experience! I will definitely be back highly recommend this Rhineharts!
Had lunch with my Aunt and cousin. The food was delicious and the service was great. I had the steak and cheese sammie and fries. However, after i ordered i realized the fries might be cooked in the same oil as seafood, which they were. I told the waitress and with no attitude at all she got me a replacement side. Very accommodating. Over all é experience was very nice!
OYSTERS ARE SECOND TO NONE!! Dont expect a stuffy, uptight restaurant here. Rhineharts is full on casual and laid back and it has been that way from the start. There isnt anything on the menu that isnt exceptional. The service is fast, friendly and personal with beaming smiles, quick wit and knowledge of everything on the menu. Great drink and meal specials throughout the week. You will not be disappointed!
I was just there on Saturday 12/27/20. Not the best this time, I was surprised at how cold the food was and the shrimp and chicken were undercooked. I normally like the food but I guess everyone can have a bad day, its just my money must always have a good day when Im paying. I was not impressed at all with this visit and it will be a very long time until I visit again.
Only four oysters on my poor boy (not many for $10.25)The stuffed mushrooms were fewer than normal, and have changed a little through the years, but still not bad.The Simple Shrimp Spread n Dip was very good. The Raw Oysters were good quality. And the service was nice.
Thank you Keenan for your wonderful service! Fried Shrimp was amazing. To everyone in the kitchen staff BRAVO! And of course recognition to the talented bartenders. Our server Keenan advised us on some mixed drink specials and they tasted great. We will definitely be back
I have been to this place three times and each time has been less impressive. I will say they have the best butterfly shrimp!Otherwise, everything I have ordered has been subpar. It does have an outdoor seating area which is nice and romantic if youre on a date or just having some time to yourself. The decor is very minimal and not very appealing (feels dirty and low end) but the waiters and waitresses have always been friendly but usually have a wait. Best time to go is there lunch specials great prices! Would not suggest this place for children as its designed to resemble a hole-in-the-wall bar. I dont think Im going to be going back.
Placed a to-go order and the service was excellent. I waited at the bar for my order and even though I was not drinking alcohol the bartender was still very attentive and friendly. Food didnt take as long as Im used to waiting at this restaurant. Altogether a pleasant experience. Will definitely return.

2022-05-16This place is as close as can be to a dive bar. The food was great! My wife and I had a lunch shrimp basket with fries. She had water and I enjoyed a Arnold Palmer. Our waitress was attentive and prompt with beverages, extra napkins and our food orders. Ya gotta give it a try!

2022-06-09Cool bar. Lots of locals. The smell when you first walk in is bad. Once you push through that you’re at a pretty cool bar with great atmosphere. Was attended by a very nice bartender who recommended a great dish. I’ve never had shrimp prepared the way I had them here. I did not try oysters because I was so full. The casamigos shots are only $8. very reasonable the prices.

2022-01-13Just overrated. The shrimp were not clean. You can see the large intestinal tract in the shrimp and grits. Not appetizing at all. The shrimp batter was gummy. Not crispy. The tartar sauce was weird tasting. Thankfully the shrimp were on special. I would have been very upset to pay full price for this meal. The fries were really good. Best part of the meal. Will not return and do not recommend.

2021-09-17A mixed experience. The jambalaya tasted awful, like it had come out of a can. The oysters were small, but tasted fine. Fried shrimp plate, cheese triangles, and stuffed mushrooms were all great. Love their rough, rustic atmosphere. And our service was pretty amazing.

2022-03-21The typical down home outdoor bar w excellent boiled shrimp on Mondays & large homemade burger. The fried fish poboy is excellent sans the bread. The fried salmon bites for $9,though good, is not worth $9 for 5 literal bites sized nibblets. Even at dbl. Id not recommend. The tea is sweet an the drinks are hit/miss unless it is bottled beer you’re after. It is good during the week and the service has vastly improved! Every day fair… not to impress your date.

2022-03-25I like the food here, but will never order carryout again. $12 for a salad that doesnt even halfway fill the container??? I tried the fried cheese for the forst time and was not impressed. The cup of shrimp and grits was good though.

2021-08-14Came here on a Saturday with a friend and we shared the Sassy Burger, a dozen raw oysters, and shrimp & grits. It was plenty to share and everything was delicious. Great price point and super casual. Service was friendly and the food came out fairly quickly. The sassy sauce on the burger was the highlight of the meal. I would get some of that on the side and dip my fries in it next time. 😊😍sheimp
