Rhodes Jordan is a massive 162 acre park, we like to take walks around the lake and then let the kids play on the playground to burn off energy. Theres multiple pavilions and resting spots to sit and enjoy the lake. The trail is 1.9 miles, and paved very safe. There are bathrooms near the playground also. Its open from Sunrise-Sundown. There are also baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts and a swimming pool.
My first time walking here at Rhodes Jordan Park in Lawrenceville. The 1.5 mile paved trail around the lake and park is a very easy walk and you can go around as many times as you need to get your steps in! Its a beautiful place to take a walk. Lots of plants, trees, birds and other animals to see.
This is a serious park... We were just here out of town for a gender reveal but noticed how large it is. There is a huge lake with ducks and geese and fish right the shore. A nice playground and even a water park. Our hosts were able to rent the pavilion we were in so we had it all to ourselves.
Theres places to picnic in covered areas with plenty of seating, a trail around the pond, playground, vultures, a bridge. Takes 20 minutes to walk around the track. Theres also a short wooded trail. Lots of baseball. Can get a bit crowded when weather is nice. DID NOT FEED THE BIRDS, signs are everywhere and people do it anyway. Its bad for them!
We go here for youth football games and it needs a major update. The benches on the visitors side are shaky with absolutely no shade. There needs to be more seating on that side as well. The home team side has more seating, but it can get sunny on that side sometimes too. They have a new score board this year which was much better than last year, so thank you for getting that done. The initial parking is limited. Thankfully the overflow parking isn’t too far away. A visible sign indicating the football field location would be appreciated for first time goers. Automatic paper towel dispensers can be added to the restrooms.
We visited Rhodes Jordan Park with family. I dont know we have so beatiful park in Lawrenceville. Thanks to Gwinnett County for managing this big and beatiful park. We enjoyed scenic view of lake. It have diffrent sports facilities. Sitting areas for parties. Rest room. Long walking trail on edges of lake, which everyone will fall in love. Water sport area but was close because of winter season i think. You must visit it.
This was a nice family day activity. My husband and I took our 3 year old daughter here last Saturday. We paid under $20 for all 3 of us. Everyone has to wear a swimsuit in order to enter and children under 6 must be within arms reach of an adult, so thats nice. Its pretty busy early in the day so I prefer to wait until the afternoon. Its a little advanced for my 3 year old but its perfect for 6 and older. One negative is they dont have lockers so everyone stacks their belongings against the fence. Overall, this is a fun, inexpensive way to beat the GA heat.
I havent explored the entire park and have never been in the aquatic center. The lake is beautiful and teeming with wildlife. The playgrounds are clean and kept up for safety. The bike trail circles the lake and the softball fields were very well kept.If you visit any park, please note: Though it is an endearing concept and American tradition to feed the birds at the park, it is very unhealthy for the birds. It can cause irregular and extended migration patterns, as well as have adverse side effects to their digestive system causing diarrhea. Let nature care for nature and remember that feeding any animal in the wild makes them more dependent upon human interaction which they may not always have.
It was ok, nothing new, except they have a Now Hiring Truck Drivers sign up.The elderly women at the desk were problematic. Dont listen well, and know-it-all.Their water park has weird hrs, and closed Tuesdays. You have to register 24 hrs before you show up, because only a certain number of people are allowed in.
Whether its the playground, the gazebos, the amazing walking trail, the geese, the many baseball and soccer fields, the swimming pools & tennis courts, and now even the football/ Lacrosse(!) field Rhodes Jordan is a fantastic park in downtown Lawrenceville. Honestly, I think its a perfect example of Gwinnett Parks at their everyday finest. If anything, Id suggest it needs to be beautified and modernized even more because with all the development happening downtown this place could be a Community defining park.
I gave 4 stars because of the proximity of where the park is to my home. I enjoyed the walk around the park. There are a few tennis courts, which was nice. The bathroom I went in was really clean. If you have kids, its a nice place for them. I wish the walking trail was more covered. My visit only consist of the tennis courts and the walking trail. I am sure there is much more to do there. I did see a baseball game being played. I might visit again, but again its far from my home.
I went there today and Ill tell you there was so many BEEES!!! It was actually unbearable I had a picnic basket and they were swarming around it to the point it was difficult to pick up. One of the other people I went with actually got stung it was REALLY BAD. The only good thing they has was an outlet...
Its ok it is very tucked away and it seems like there is only one way out of it, which I find uncomfortable. Parking spaces are in weird areas. There are not enough trash and recycling locations. Parts of the park had trash littered on the ground. There was also a strange man there that made me feel like he was following me. I think he wanted to see if I was going to walk in a slightly more remote part of the walking trail. I did not do that and I just went to the more populated side and he took off. So that really scared me, wont be going back. I do not believe police monitor this park regularly.
Its not a huge part but its a good size. Nice Lake to walk around. Actually its very nice to walk around. When its hot, you have sun on one side of it and shade on the other. Benches periodically, makes for a great walk. Sometimes I sit on the swing bench when its Shady. Very awesome, do you need more of those around the park, LOL. Kids play equipment, sidewalk Trail, bathrooms, barbecuing,. Plenty to do and enjoy. I love this park :-)
My family and I absolutely love this park!! My kids recently attended summer camp here and they enjoyed every day of it! The camp was very reasonably priced and the staff was amazing with the kids! I was really worried about my 5 year old attending camp with his older sister for the first but they made sure he was safe every step of the way. They did a swimming test with the kids each week and if they didnt pass they had to stay in shallow area with a life vest and a staff member in the pool watching them. That put me at ease! The outdoor pool area is great and has a lot of fun play structures and slides. They also have outdoor basketball courts as well as indoor courts. They have 2 play grounds and a pond for fishing. Just a great park for many different activities!
Went there today for the first time I was really impressed bigger than I was expecting plenty of walking and hiking trails picnic tables a great place to go sit or take a walk just spend a moment alone to collect your thoughts or exercise and take a walk find a shade tree and relax I would highly recommend this park it seems to be a safe place to take your kids or walk your dog
Very nice park, but they need the feeding machines like Lenora Park for the ducks. Even though your not suppose to feed the ducks at Rhodes Jordan Park I saw people feeding the ducks bread, clearly breaking the rules. I love feeding the ducks, but I respected their rules. Get the feeding machines in please. Its part of the fun for families to feed the ducks.
I love going here to walk in the mornings. It has a great scenic view and great paths for walking and jogging. The park is always clean and I like that there is security there in the mornings for when there are not a lot of people there. I love seeing the wildlife around me while I walk and this is a great place to see that.
Great place to walk, enjoy family time, playgrounds for children, basketball for court to whomever can play or shoot around, softball and baseball field for the outside sports. And I think there is either lacrosse field or practice soccer field in the front of the park. If you visit this park its a great place and well kepted.
Very nice park. Has 3 baseball, 2 soccer (on its own field), football, basketball indoor and 2 outdoor, tennis, cheer factory/ gymnastics, large lake for fishing, walking paths, senior center, and a water park. Each section has its own restrooms and there are walking trails ( open air and wooded) all around the park. They also have pavilions around the lake for gatherings. Plenty of parking throughout and very well kept.
Took my son here a couple of weeks ago (the water park) and had a wonderful time. It’s a really inexpensive way to spend a hot summer day. My 3 year old loved it. The lifeguards don’t miss a beat and are super strict about safety. The park at Rhodes Jordan is great as well. The track around the lake makes your walk/run so serene. Also, Rhodes Jordan has THE best sunsets! So stunning.
I run here often and the road trail is always easy to run on. Theres a playground for kids to play and clean bathrooms, which I appreciate. There are nice benches in case you have to rest for a minute. I can always find an event thats going on at the park for families alike!
An always, a peaceful, beautiful summer morning at this fab family park! The remodel thst started a couple of years ago is mostly complete. Though the pavilion picnic areas and playground are closed due to COVID-19, its still a wonderful place to visit ducks/geese, walk, run, sit by the lake, fish, play sports, and engage in socially distanced conversation with your Lawrenceville/Gwinnett neighbors!
Me and my girlfriend went to the park for the first time...after entering and being in the aquatic center for 30 minutes I called up my sister and told her to bring my family...my family arrived and just when my mom was about to go in the water the staff there told us that we couldnt enter the pool since we had no swim suits although mostly everybody didnt have them on...we felt singled out because they didnt complain to anybody else.
We took the kids to the aquatic center. We usually go to the one off of Jimmy Carter Blvd but this one was a welcome change. I love that you can pack a cooler & enjoy some food & drinks during the breaks, no alcohol of course. It makes life much easier with the kids & you can stay all day if you like without having to leave. Definitely make sure anyone swimming has on a swimsuit/swim trunks. You will be told to exit the pool if you dont.
The is one of the most beautiful parks Ive been to since moving here 9 years ago from Washington DC. You can walk around the lake which is a mile long or you can take the long route which is 1.3 miles long. The sunsets are amazing to watch on the swings they have placed along the walking path.
Love this pool! Have been coming here for years. They ARE strict on rules but are consistent with everyone. If you follow them, you wont have any issues so I recommend looking ahead of time at the website! I really like their system of checking people in before we get to the desk to save time while paying and also to inform us of the rules before we spend money if we dont have the proper swim attire. Such a great atmosphere and the staff was super friendly and answered all of my questions about swimming lessons. I have recommended this pool to so many people!
This place has a lot of amenities. Theres duck poop here and there of course but then you have a big pond in return, so plus and minuses. They even have a horseshoe place which Ive never seen in a park. I dont see any disc golf stuff so again, plus and minuses. This supplement things were parks around them lacks.
Daughter takes classes here.. the facilities looks good. Wish the hallways were less narrow. Hard to get a stroller through there. The pool seems nice but i only saw from the outside. Havent been inside yet. The bball gym is nice. During summer it is packed with kids for summer camp. Nothing really stands out about it. The community center is the only place i stay out. It seems kinda ghetto if you walk around outside and around the park.. overall i still go there and Ive invited people there.. you can sign up for taekwondo and ballet and dance.. its relatively cheap
The park is pretty nice. They have basketball courts, also a recreation center that also has basketball courts. Nice place to take your kids to the park. However, the lake thats out there is very, very, very, dirty. People come out to feed the bird in the lake and all they do is poop in that lake. So I wouldnt personally fish out there but some people do. Shoes, trash, dead animals, are just some other things that are floating in that water. Other than that stinky smell from the lake, its a nice park.
One of the most beautiful parks in Gwinnett County!!! There is an aquatic center, a trail for walking/exercising, a playground for kids( and adult kids who still like to have fun), several pavilions for gatherings and barbecuing. But my favorite would be the lake, it has an area for fishing and its a very peaceful place to sit quietly with your honey...
Lake views are great, plenty of walking paths, senior center, basketball courts, world class aquatic center, and athletic fields for every popular sport. And it still seems like a hidden gem in Gwinnett...until recreational football begins again of course. Lol!! Great place to relax, get exercise, and meet people.
Rhodes Jordan Park is a 162-acre park that has an aquatic center, a community recreation center, and a really great paved lake trail, about a mile and a half long, with many swings and benches along the path. The trail goes through both open sun and wooded shady areas and over a nice bridge walkway. There are basketball courts here and additionally, eight lighted hardcourt tennis courts with adjacent restrooms and ample free parking space. I love the way the tennis courts are laid out, and they are well away from any roadway. Singles play is $5.00/hr and doubles $14.00/2 hr. Its free on off hours. There is a large pavilion, picnic tables and grills near the lake, with also a childrens playground along the lake, and there is fishing in the lake too. Youll see lots of ducks and geese! A horseshoe court lies near the tennis and basketball courts, though Ive never seen anyone play! There are several outdoor softball fields, too. Apparently the park also boasts a terrific gym! I know the aquatic center is extremely popular. See other reviews and the Gwinnett County recreation website for more amenities Rhodes Jordan has to offer.
Great park to walk as it provides open spaces and a lake view, the path is about a mile long and the trail is wide and clear, it does have about three big Kiosk if you want to spend time with your family, just keep in mind that the park has the right to reserve those for events, but they are mostly always available.
I went to the park 6 days ago abd walked the trail. The atmosphere was really nice. The trail was beautofil. I happened to get to see a marriage there and really brought it all together for me. If your ever looking to get out and have fun with the family, Rhodes Jordan Park is for you.
I took my 17-month old twin boys here to play. We werent too impressed. There isnt much geared toward the younger crowd here, I would say it is good for 2 or 3+ year olds. Also, there was trash/cups on the playground so it was a bit dirty. Doesnt seem like the upkeep is the best. I think it would be enjoyable for a little bit older kids, as I mentioned before.
I experienced this WONDERFUL park recently. OMG!! It was truly more than we had thought it would be. My daughter and I decided to check out their walking trail. When we entered the area,we noticed signs for tennis courts,a Senior Center, aquatics, and sooo much more! As we approached the trail,we observed areas for picnics or some form of social gatherings,a playground area for children, plenty of benches and swings to sit and gaze out at the spacious, calm lake while watching ducks and geese in the water enjoying their space. While on the trail,we met two ducks greeting the visitors in their welcoming, ambassadors roles! Lol We walked the entire mile long trail and look forward to going back AGAIN and AGAIN! Four thumbs up( from my daughter and me!) :-) :-)
Looks like a nice place to take the kids for summer camp since moving nearby. Did all planning and saving, signed up well in advance and received a call that the sports camps (which were over half of our summer camps we signed up for) were cancelled by contractor. No way to get into the good camps after school is out. So frustrating! Now I have to do research and planning all over again to try and find them something to do this summer and this was my first summer actually getting them in real camps and not daycares. I am so disappointed.
Take your family elsewhere! The Aquatic Center water park looks nice enough but the staff is rude and unethical. I am not from the area but went to this facility on the recommendation of a local family. Apparently, this facility caters to minority families and as a result they have no regard for customer service. They speak to their clientele in exceptionally rude tones and Jordan and Brittany, the managers of this facility are unprofessional as well. These two managers took the full pool fee from a group of children who were paying 15 minutes before 1/2 price hour. Then, as soon as they had taken the money, they announced a 15 minute safety break which prevented those children from entering the pool. Obviously this is an unethical practice. They refused to refund the difference after we complained and referred us to Christine Greenfield, the supervisor. Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone as a result of the disrespectful treatment of my family. Oh, and dont be fooled by the online pictures, they must be really old because the facility doesnt look as inviting as the pictures portray.
Huge park!! Not sure if the first play Ground on the laughed when you come in through the main and trends not sure of thats the only playing around because if it is its more were younger kids but the park is so huge that Im sure there are more these did not have time to drive around through the entire park looking for another playground
The Aquatics Facility is ghetto and overcrowded! Do yourself a favor and go to another facility. The staff is not helpful and not friendly. I guess because it stays crowded due to cheap prices for a water park and nowhere else to go in the area people suck up how bad it really is. They allowed my 16 year old to pay full price knowing that in 15 minutes they would be doing a safety break (no swimming for 15 minutes) and that would have been 5pm when the price would drop to half. When we asked why they would take her money knowing they wouldnt be able to swim until AFTER the price dropped, they claimed to have told her. They refused to be accommodating for the obvious miscommunication. It was as if, we have enough people, losing you wont matter. That is the worst costumer service and not to mention a horrible business attitude to have. Jordan was a jerk as was Brittany. It appeared as if they almost found it humorous that they had gotten over on my daughter. We only stayed because we had two small children that were waiting to go in for almost an hour (my husband had to get swim trunks although he was not swimming) and I did not want them disappointed. I repeat, avoid this place like the plague. Its not worth the price. Not to mention the pictures they have on the site must be about 6 years old because it definitely doesnt look like that anymore...end rant of horrible facility.
Small but enough to entertain the family for fun activities. Bathrioms kept clean only thing i the oubluc adhere to the rules regardung feeding the geese. Dont feed them bread crackers or human food buy some pellets its healthier and more digestible for them. Keep them healthy and vibrant. Not sickley and lethargic

2022-02-05Its hard to not enjoy the outdoors and give any outdoor space at least 4 stars...this place is very clean, well kept and very well kept paved trail. Couple if bridges make the trail more interesting as its focus point is a large pond. There were other amenities that i didnt pay attention to, i was focused on the trail and that it seemed to have serveral offshoots so i have not explored them all...first time there and i really liked this place!

2022-04-21One of the best parks in Lawrenceville. There are multiple playgrounds, a splash pool with slides, nice big pond with a trail around it, tennis courts and lots of benches around the pond to sit and relax. It was well kept except for the bathroom. It was gross the day I went. It’s a great place for dates or picnics also :) we will definitely come back to some picnics. There were plenty of parking, too. Go check it out for yourself!

2022-03-09Great place for a walk around the park. Theres a variety of stuff to see. Parts of the path goes by the lake and into a wooded area while another stretch takes you near the railroad tracks. Theres plenty to see as you cross over the lake along the boardwalks.

2022-05-20The (half room rental) of the Community Room at Rhodes Jordan Park was the perfect size and atmosphere for a corporate event! The park staff were all very friendly and booking the space was relatively easy. They supplied trash cans and the amount of tables + chairs I requested, so all we had to do was bring our event items! That made it very easy :) Would definitely recommend!

2021-05-09This park is amazing! With the location being this close to downtown Lawrenceville, youd think Id be noisy or crowded. However, this is not the case. The treeline is made in such a way that you wouldnt think you were anywhere near a major town. The walking/biking track around the lake is my favorite thing to do at this park as you can see the wildlife.

2021-08-09Lovely park near downtown Lawrenceville! Nice walking/running path around a picturesque lake full of geese and ducks. Enjoyed the singing of a choir during an outdoor church service held at one of the gazebos.

2020-09-02Very nice and convenient park near downtown Lawrenceville. Lake is big and clear with trail right by the water. Two big pavilions provide ample space for activities. A good portion of the trail is covered by tree as well, providing shades. Many swing benches along the lakeside, which we sat on to have snacks / fruits. Very relaxing environment. Highly recommended park.

2020-09-29This park was just perfect on a fall afternoon. The trail around the lake is paved and great for walking, biking and those with strollers or wheelchairs. There are many places along the trail to sit, rest and take in the nice view. There were many families and the kids were enjoying the playground and looking at the ducks in the lake.
