I came in this morning looking specifically for padded bike shorts. Im a novice trying to get into it all. The only size that they had to fit me were the pro series for 150$. Im not really able to spend that kind of money just starting out. The owner gave me 50% off because he didnt have the cheaper ones in my size. Ill definitely keep coming back! Great service, and they care about the customers.
I would give this place 5 stars, but they have one bad apple in there staff. I think its like that in most places, but he ruined a great experience for me. 99% great...just wish I was able to give my side of the story. AndI have a scarred up back rim warrantied that I am sure is gone now. LIED for 80 bucks... lord! LIED!!!
I honestly cannot say enough good things about this store! I originally ordered a one-speed bike that they did not have it in stock, so they ordered it in for me, but once I got it home and tried it out, I decided that the one-speed wasnt the best choice for me and took it in the next day to try to sell back and buy something with more speed options. They took the one-speed back with no problems and then were very helpful with explaining the features of my other options and getting me the perfect bike. They even let me pay the difference between the bikes rather than having to do a return and a new purchase. Amazing customer service, very patient with a relatively difficult situation I created for them, and very helpful!
Helpful staff, good amenities and services. I bought pedals and Dennis switched them with my old ones for no extra charge. On that first trip I also ordered a saddle which again they replaced at no additional cost when I picked it up. The vibe is very much one of community. Ill continue going here for my bike needs while I live in Columbus.
My husband and I bought road bikes there a few years ago. The buying experience was amazing because the whole staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. Since buying the bikes, they have custom fitted the seats, done tune-ups, helped us out with flats and remembered our names and preferences. Amazing company, amazing owners, amazing staff. Highly recommend!
This shop is a great place! Their rental road bikes are awesome and the staff there is attentive and friendly. Dennis was great to talk to and learn from about some of the new safety tech out there for riders. Id highly recommend shopping here for your next bike or accessories!
I came by today fully intending to purchase a $400 plus Specialized Roll bike for myself due to a wonderful conversation I had over the phone with one of your associates. My daughters (age 4 and age 7) are with me and as soon as the front doors opened they saw two very large dogs one of whom is a German Shepard. The girls became afraid and were nervous to enter. We were told by a disinterested associate that the dogs were “sweet” and that they “don’t bite”. We turned and left because that doesn’t work for me. Here’s a tip: care about your customers’ kids or they’ll turn around like I just did or....don’t and roll the dice like you did today and lose customers.
Hands-down the best customer service Ive ever experienced. Jason and all of the staff Ive come across are extremely knowledgeable and so friendly! You can tell they are passionate about the sport of cycling and offering the best products and advice to all customers. Also love the level of involvement in the community. Overall just a really great place!
Compared to a few of the other bike shops in town, they seem to genuinely care about you and make sure to greet you when you walk in the door. They dont seem to just want to make a sale, I felt they were trying to help me get what I needed, not just make a sale like another bike shop in town I went to. Overall great atmosphere, customer service, and help.
We had an Amazing ride on the 6 person peddler with our guide Lydia who is the sweetest and patient person who I have encountered in Downtown Columbus. Everyone in the business was so welcoming and helpful. This bike is definitely a workout and gets the heart racing. Only $ 30 for all 6 people for a full hour. We definitely doing this again.
Ive been here several times, they have a friendly staff that greet me as soon as I walk in. I had several questions about products that they were willing and quick to answer with personal experience about the items. I brought my bike in for a service one time and they were quick to get it back to me at a good price. I recommend this place.
Verry friendly and knowledgeable staff. I did research online for my first real bike. Not a $100 walmart bike. I settled on a specialized after reading many reviews and articles then looked up local dealers. I went in to support a small business and I was so happy I did. The online price was very comparable but at Ride on they had to order the size i needed. Before he even ordered the bike he gave me one to ride over the weekend to make sure it was a good fit before I placed an order. I loved it. When my bike arrived they fitted it to me and explained how you can get knee strain from not having the seat and pedals adjusted properly. If professional riders use a store you can be sure its a great place but Im a new rider and felt very comfortable and like they took thier time to educate me. I was so glad I didnt order online where there isnt a knowledgeable sales person to give you advice and tips. Ohhh and they give you a year maintenance for free with bike purchase!
Jason and Darryl really made my kids and I feel comfortable in his store. We did not know a lot about bikes, but they were able to make recommendations to me after getting to know me and what I would be using the bike for. They also made some much needed repairs to my 10 year old sons bike, which was damaged on our PCS move across the country. Great store and service!
I love this spot! The staff are always friendly. It is affordable and a great way to spend the day riding bikes down the river walk. Many times my daughter & I pack a picnic to stop and enjoy when we make it a day activity. I’ve also gone with girlfriends and on dates. Exercise & bonding at once is a win every time. Five stars for sure!
I’ve rented a bike from here multiple times, and I receive excellent customer service each time! I went in today to get air in the tires of a bike (not knowing they had air pumps outside). Instead of just pointing me outside, the guy pumped my tires up for me inside and simply educated me of the pumps that are outside for future use. I appreciated that a lot. Thanks, Ride on Bikes!
I purchased a Trek Madone 2.1 in July. The bike is a good entry level bike, but Ride on Bikes treats me and my bike as if I bought a more expensive bike. It feels as though they truly care about the bike, rider, and sport of cycling. The staff is extremely professional and always willing to explain their products even if I am just browsing. I personally have worked with Miles and Jason, both of whom are easy to talk to and neither pushes a particular product. They provide the information and recommend a product based on my needs.
Jason - Thanks to you and your staff for the great job tuning up my bike, its better than new! Also, thanks for your recommendation on the new Specialized Power saddle - its fantastic. I am beginning to believe that Ride on Bikes really is Probably the best bike shop in the world.
Went in on a Friday morning to have a blown tube replaced in my bike tire. I was expecting to leave the tire there and to have to return later. They told me if I wanted I could wait and it would only take about 10 mins. 10 mins later my tube was replaced and I was on my way. It took less time and was cheaper than me trying to do it my self! Great job! Will I go there again? Heck yea!
I heard great things about this place, I was very disappointed. I brought an old bike in to get it working. They dont repair bikes, they sell service packages. I got the 2 star service with cleaning and tru wheel & safety inspection. 2 days later I picked up the bike and it wasnt even cleaned... They told me to go get some goo gone, but I reminded them I paid for a cleaning and they did the work reluctantly. I didnt have a chance to ride the bike, but less than a week later the front tire was flat. I brought it back and they said the tires werent something they checked out in the service package I purchased. They only looked at the wheel to see if its bent or of its missing spokes, this is a paid service?! I needed 2 new tires that they dont sell. They sent me to Walmart to get the tires. Had I known, I would have bought a new bike. Hopefully I can ride it now at least.
This place is the must stop shop if youre going to do any biking along the Riverwalk or in Columbus downtown area. This company save my spring break helping me out with my bikes when my tires were flat. The the folks are friendly and very professional and can fix things really really fast. Thanks so much for help.
Purchased a road bike for $1700 and kept it in the garage or house- road once. Three months later, I brought the like new bike in to trade up to a much more expensive bike. I looked on their used bike racks to see what they were selling the bike Im trading in and found the same bike for about what I paid ($1700)- blue book value is $1200. The sales rep wheels my bike in the back, then brings it back and says, the most I can offer is $700! Of course, I said no thanks- left the shop very disappointed. Makes one wonder about the quality of the product theyre selling or the salesman. Ive spent over $4000 in this particular bike shop. Ride On Bikes has lost a customer and advocate.
*Amazing* service. Im starting the 7th -- and last! -- week of a cross-United States ride. My gears had been screwing up all the way across Alabama. Byron took my bike in, completely rebuilt the gear shifter, and got me on my way in no time at all. He even took time out of his busy schedule to try and figure out a better way to hang my Ortlieb panniers since I didnt have the proper inserts to fit a new rack. The rest of the staff were friendly, courteous, lots of smiles, great knowledge. On ROBs website they say theyre probably the best bike shop in the world. Id have to agree! Thanks to Byron and everyone else who got my bike ready to go for the end of this epic ride!
They have always been helpful with any questions Ive had. It is a great place to rent a bike and explore downtown.Bonus tip: The bike fit seems like a little bit of a sticker shock, but if you are going to be on your bike for many miles and long periods of time, you wont regret it.
We ride bikes here every Tuesday for the FREE bike ride to Ft.Benning and back. The people are very nice and we have developed a great relationship with the staff. I have learned a lot about bike riding from the agency I work for and I have also grown to understand why we work closely with Ride on Bikes on Bike to Work Day every year! You guys keep up the good work and see you on the trails!!
I was lucky to find Ride On Bikes when I needed to rent a bike for Bo Bikes Bama! They gave me a really nice road bike for the entire weekend at a great rate, and took the time to fit me properly so I could ride the 62 miles in comfort. Great service, great bikes, and very nice people in downtown Columbus!
I am TDY in town for the week and wanted to go for a ride today (Saturday March 11, 2017). I looked the shop up on line and called them last week to get the scoop. This morning I took a Lyft ride to the shop, rented a hybrid, and rode for 25 miles out to Fort Benning and back. Rode along the river route.Very enjoyable and inexpensive way to see the area and get some exercise. The workers at the shop (and forgive me for not remembering their names) were great - very helpful and willing to help out.I highly recommend it!
Walking thru the door I was greated as though Id been there a thousand times...like an old friend. It acutally caught me off guard. Extremely friendly and helpful. The staff member really wasnt that interested in selling me something. Just wanted to know how he could help.Probably the best experience Ive ever had while shopping...ever.

2022-06-12I received a used mountain bike as a gift (wheels were off of it, needed new tubes, chain was off). Decided to take it here for a tune up which was $90, plus putting in new tubes. They had it done in 4 days and the technician that worked on it, Evan, came out to make recommendations on the bike, explain the gear shifting to me and even gave me tips on trails and group rides. Extremely friendly service and my bike is ready to ride and absolutely spotless. Highly recommended bike shop

2020-09-14I made an appointment to learn more about bikes as this was my first time looking at road bikes and my first time in their shop. I was able to promptly meet with Jason, the owner. He asked a few questions about what i was looking for and I mentioned I did not know much about biking but I was considering getting into it. He took the time to explain all the details and thought it was best to fit me to a bike, which was a great experience. I learned a lot about body position and how things should feel. He offered to let me take their bike down to river walk and even allowed me to take it home. I had a great experience with the team and decided to purchase a bike and equipment from them. I have since been back several times to purchase more equipment. I feel like the team cares about you and they want to genuinely help you no matter what your skill level is. If you are considering purchasing a bike or want to learn more, please give them a chance to earn your business, you will be glad you did!

2020-12-23Best bike shop I have ever visited! The staff is welcoming and Jason (the owner) is very hospitable. He was able to help me out with all my MTB needs. Additionally, he let me know there are new trails to check out. Plus, he was willing to let me rent a bike (since I’m from out of town) and show me the trails himself. Super nice guy. Thanks for everything and I’ll definitely be back! 🚵🏼

2018-09-06Excellent selection of bikes!!!! Great people to help get a bike that fits your riding skills!!!!! Great clothing sales!!!!! The prices are reasonable, trust me, Im a frugal person and also this is a great way to stay in shape especially for the military. They have a bike ride for the whole city and any other nearby cities on Tuesdays and The Great Columbus police Department leads them through the city to pick up people if they cant keep up and its the thrill thats great!!!!

2021-04-02Popped in the bike shop about an hour before closing to browse for a birthday gift for my 12 year old son. Granted, I dont have an extensive knowledge about bikes, the staff was patient, kind, helpful, and enthusiastic. We purchased my sons first adult sized ride. Best of all, they thoroughly inspected the bike and made adjustments before we left. Even though it was late and the weather was bad outside, the friendly customer service (and really cool bike) brought a smile to a little boys face on his birthday. Means a lot, 5 stars in my book.

2021-10-12I dropped my bike off for a tune up. They called me and told me it needed a few parts and the parts summed up to more than I paid for the bike so I told them I only wanted certain things done. They called me a few days later and told me my bike was ready so I went in and right before I swiped my card I realized the total was wrong and I asked them what they charged me for. On the bill was the things I told them not to do. When I looked at the bike they didnt do those things yet they tried to charge me for them. I also saw they didnt do the thing a I asked either! I dont know if they did anything at all to my bike. Three days later I went back and they did what I asked after having to drive back and forth and clarify multiple times what was being done and what was being charged. I will take my bike elsewhere next time especially since they didnt offer me a discount or anything of that nature for the inconveniences.
