This was the 2nd new carpurchased from Rivertown using Quinton Lassiter as the sales rep. Our first experience dealing with Mr. Lassiter was when my wife bought her Volvo thru Rivertown and Quinton was her contact. Mr Lassiter went “above and beyond”our highest expectations as a salesman in helping her make this purchase. Our past experience dealing with Mr. Lassiter, was the main reason my wife and I went back to Rivertown. We purposely sought out Quinton, when we decided that a Subaru was going to be out next new car purchase. Kudos to Quinton Lassiter!
Walked up to the car we we interested in, were met with a laid back rep whos first question was would you like to try it out? My kind of guy. After a great test dive we were quickly presented with nice financing options. We were done within 21/2 hrs of test driving. I love my car, Ive had it now 3 months and I couldnt be happier! It handles like a fun go-cart on our dirt roads never leaving us feeling out of control. In X mode I feel like we are a cartoon car that the tires and struts reach out to carry me over or through obstacles most cars wouldnt dare brave! What fun!
We worked with Byron at Rivertown Subaru. He was easy to work with and he helped us to secure a fair and equitable deal on our new Ascent including the trade in on our old car. We will certainly work with this dealership again when we are in the market for another Subaru.
I feel a need to follow up about service after the purchase. As much as we loved our Subaru, we had to sell it this past March. In canceling the Extended Warranty, we followed instructions and sent in the paperwork. Was told to only contact if we havent received our refund in 49 days, weemailed everything April 8th 2022. After numerous attempts with finance manager, I contacted Subaru Added Security team today, June 2nd 2022 and was told the Extended Warranty has never been canceled and they would help. Please dont tell me Rivertown didnt know this....boy what my wife and I felt after being told this......I have never had such a great experience in purchasing an automobile. Jason was fantastic as a salesman and his colleagues who stepped in for him didnt change the process. My wife and I felt like we were the first people to buy a new car from Rivertown Subaru. David in Finance was just amazing and the sales manager gave us a price that was right where we needed to be and as I mentioned everyone at the dealership was there to help us with anything we needed. Anyone who needs a new or used automobile needs to call or go see Jason, David or any of the Great People at Rivertown Subaru! One last thing Anne my wife literally hates buying a car but Rivertown Subaru changed her mind, She Loves Rivertown Subaru! and buying a new Subaru from them was Fun !!!I JUST WANTED TO GIVE JASON AND DAVID A KUDOS FOR KEEPING UP THE GOOD WORK!I NOTICED THE LADY FROM LOUISIANA WAS AS PLEASED AS ANNE AND I. THANKS FROM TOM!
I placed my truck for sale online, convinced I wouldnt get payoff with a dealer trade in. I was looking for a base Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I found a Jeep on Rivertown Subarus website through CarGurus but did not inquire since I had yet to sell my truck, and this Jeep was out of my range. I finally decided to test the water, just to find out how far away from a deal Id be. I sent an inquiry through CarGurus. I received an immediate response but I didnt follow up for a couple of days. I finally sent a detailed email to Stephen Henderson, explaining my situation. In a very short period of time he replied with a deal sheet. They would pay off my Tundra and would be able to complete the transaction if I decided to go ahead with it. Two days later i drove the 2 hours to the dealership and picked up my Jeep. Steven was honest, professional, and overcame a couple of small misunderstangs to make things move along. The environment was no pressure and probably the best car buying experience Ive had..... And Ive had a lot. I left very impressed with my used Jeep. It was immaculate. Im also impressed with Stevens level of urgency and commitment to making me happy with every request. I also want to thank Stacey Day. He gave me a tip which I wouldve never followed up on. He told me I could get a refund on my service agreement which I purchased when buying the truck I traded. I had no idea. I collected $3000 from that, making this the sweetest of deals.Stephen and Stacey- If you ever read this, thank you for making my experience a memorable one.One complaint- no lids for the complimentary coffee cups LOL.
Very pleasant experience. Marcus Sanabria was responsive and provided the requested information and pricing timely. Based on benchmark data, the price was very competitive. Picking up my new Subaru was also pleasant. David Rodriguez went through the paperwork thoroughly but quickly. All of my questions and options were explained, and I opted for the extended warranty. All in all, a very positive buying experience. Thanks guys!
I have now purchased 2 Outback’s here at Rivertown Subaru, and have nothing but good things to say! I came in yesterday to get my newest and was helped by Quinton. He was super helpful and knowledgeable not only about the newest year Outback but also the one I was trading up from, so he was able to point out all of the improvements and upgrades I would be getting. When it came time to fill out paperwork and discuss pricing, it couldn’t have been better. The process went very quickly, they worked with me to get me a car better than I expected at a great price! They have a lifelong customer from me! I’ll never shop for a car anywhere else. Thanks Quinton for all of your help!!Also, I can say this because this is my second purchase here, and now my second car I will be having serviced here, the service department is outstanding as well! Always informative, thorough, and prompt!
Immediately ridiculed right when we walked in because we wanted something high end. Didnt buy anything or look at anything, I will not buy nothing from someone who is so ignorant. Really sad too I wanted a subura. But I found much better service at Jeep, actually found something way better.
Everyone at Rivertown Subaru was so friendly and supportive of us. The Sales Manager, Damane, gave us assurances he was handing us to an experienced salesperson. Byron was fantastic and helped us “on the fly” even though he was not expecting us. And actually put us in a vehicle that very night which was not expected. And then Marcus, the Finance Manager, followed up the next day to help us complete the deal. And they offered to detail the existing Subaru that we’re buying off lease to give to our daughter. What an amazing team.
No. Just no. I walked around the tiny lot with no salesman in site (which I know can be a perk by itself, but I wanted to test drive something so I did actually need assistance). On my way back to my car to leave I was approached by a man who identified himself as the manager who had been there for a few months. I asked a question about the difference in package options on their Forrester and he told me he didnt know. He found a salesman who came out to let me drive one. I currently drive a Subaru, purchased from this lot in 2010. I told the sales guy about some of the problems I had had over the years with my Impreza and he simply said that Subaru has fixed all of those issues. I tried asking him about the difference between two of the package options on the Forrester and he literally said that theyre the same, except one had orange detailing trim. Thats it. Theyre the same. I left there quickly and wont be back. The salesman doesnt know what he is selling and the manager knows nothing about the lot.
After searching for weeks for my special Outback, I found just what I wanted, at a great price, at Rivertown Subaru. This was great, except that I live in Louisiana, 500 miles away from Columbus Georgia. Jason and David at Rivertown Subaru, worked with me to answer my questions and sifted through mounds of paperwork to be sure the taxes and fees were correct for an out of state purchase. They both stayed in contact with me by phone, email and text through the process. Finally the day arrived and Jason picked me up at the airport. Heading back to the dealership, he pointed out some of the features and assured me that the all weather mats would be shipped to me once they arrived. This was my first car purchased out of state, although it was a bumpy experience at first, Jason and David smoothed it out in the end. I certainly would recommend Rivertown Subaru to anyone, near or far from Columbus Georgia. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Outback!!
I had a fantastic time working with Quinton at Rivertown Subaru. He was extremely helpful and sat down with me to explain every detail of my new car. I’m very grateful to have had such a friendly experience purchasing my first new car with them! I would completely recommend coming to this dealership to look for your new vehicle. Happy customer over here!
They always get my Crosstrek in for its service and out in a timely manner. Always give me a discount even without a coupon. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable technicians. Ariel has always been the greatest service advisor. They keep my Subaru running great and dont try to sell me anything I dont need. Good customer service!
Quinton was our internet salesperson. He was Easy to communicate with and let us know when the car arrived on Brunswick and ETA on delivery. The delivery was thorough and easy to understand. One thing to note, if a single name is on the paperwork they will not accept payment from anyone else who’s name isn’t on the buying paperwork. So my husband was paying a portion with a check and I paid with my debit card. My name is not on his check, so they had to change the paperwork to add him as the co-buyer. We could have left to go to a nearby bank to withdraw the cash, but our bank was not in the area to do that. It caused us to be concerned at first when we were paying but we worked it out. Be sure to talk to the business manager before coming to pay to make sure they understand how you are paying if you aren’t financing it.
This dealership goes above and beyond to ensure you receive the service and satisfaction a customer deserves! Byron in sales went out of his way to get the exact Forester I wanted!! No high pressure sales here... just transparency from sales to financing and I was sold! Best experience buying a car. Thank you all!!
Byron and the Subaru staff impressed me in every aspect of the sale. I’ve been to other dealerships and the Rivertown Subaru “stole the show”! I wasn’t just a “customer number”, I was treated like a human being with the utmost respect from this dealership’s staff. Kudos all the way around!
Rivertown Subaru prided excellent service. My Impreza broke down during a road trip with a deadline. They provided me a loaner vehicle to finish the trip. Meanwhile they took a look at my car quickly, found the problem, and fixed it before my drive was over. I was able to pick up the fixed car the next day. This is probably the best Subaru service center I have been to across three states.
I Had A Great Experience With Subaru! Bought My First Used Car There They Even Made A Deal With Me And Took Off An Extra $1000 Dollars Because Of A Small Dent In My Door Very Easily To Talk To They Are Respectful Make You Feel Comfortable & At Home They Made My Day & My Car Is Awesome 😎 I Would Recommend Anyone To Them I Promise They Will Not Let You Down! Never A Disappointment I Drove Almost 2 Hours Away & It Was Well Worthid They Also Made Sure The Car I Purchased & The Car I Drove There Was On A Full Tank Of Gas Before We Pulled Off The Lot!! They Are Awesome!!
Byron Brown was so wonderful to work with!! He was able to get me the exact car I wanted for much less than any other dealership I at. He was so helpful making sure I could get the car when I returned from visiting family out of state. Cannot recommend him or this dealership enough!
Called and s/w Carlos Canas on June 05. Got my price certificate and they had the car i wanted. He got me the quote and after much waiting a quote on my trade. After that it was CRICKETS sound! Would not answer his phone nor did the guy who gave me the quote! He never returned a voice mail or anything! Got an e-mail supposedly from him but some other persons name in the body of the email wanting to know if I was still interested but was like it was from Carlos. They quoted me a car that was supposedly there and when i wanted to buy - no return calls! It is okay, I actually found a Subaru dealership that likes to sell cars and I now am enjoying my 2021 Subaru Forester Limited!!! If you live near this dealer, I would drive to another one regardless of how far it is. I will be sure to mention them in my Subaru survey when it comes after I give the dealer who actually sold me one - a great review!!!
Love my new Subaru!!! The folks at Rivertown Subaru were fabulous to work with- very knowledgeable and efficient. Wish I lived nearby so I could use them for servicing. I appreciate the 5 star treatment you all provided me throughout the whole purchase process- thanks again!!!
Just bought my 1st Subaru! Everyone at Rivertown was very helpful, friendly and gave me the best deal on a new Ascent. Follow-up has been great and Quinton, my sales rep, and David, the finance rep, especially went over and above to answer all my questions and gave me great customer service. Rivertown itself is in a great location and was clean, bright and followed Covid protocols to make the buying experience pleasant and safe.
It is generally stressful to buy a car. Riverton Subaru doesnt give much ground of msrp but they arent arrogant about it or try high pressure tactics. I have bought two Forresters from them and I have been very satisfied with these SUV. Their service department is professional and courteous,. And during the seven years I have dealt with them I have had no issue with quality of their work. If they have to keep you car over night they will give you a loner if you need it
Went in for an oil change. Waited 2 and a half hours. When they were done the $29 oil change turned into $95. When I asked about it he discounted it. And got it down to $41. I was also given an action plan listing several things wrong with the car. All of which totaled to $4700. I declined them. One of the items was to replaced burned out turn signals for $33 each. None of my turn signals are burned out mind you. All in all this will be the last oil change Subaru will do for me.After Speaking to the manager he explained that the time spent was for more than just an oil change, with me mentioning to the Service dept. that there was an oil leak (even though i was certain of where it was leaking (the oil filter was the problem)) they still did a full inspection to see where else there might be a leak. They also did a full inspection around the car which is how i got an Action Plan The manager that I spoke to on the phone was extremely nice and helped me understand what their process was. He is going to look into how i was given an incorrect price. I feel a bit better after talking to him. I still will not be able to get the Action Plan done.
Wow! So impressed by the customer service they provided. Quinton (sales) and Damone (sales manager) were great. Being pregnant, they made sure to truly go above and beyond to keep me safe and get me in and out in a timely manner. We bought a Forester and are in love. We were referred by a friend and we are so glad we drove from Atlanta to Columbus (even though there was a closer dealership) due to the customer service and pricing that was in our budget. Thank you all again!
I am only giving a 5-star review for the parts department, specifically one guy, since I have never delt with any other aspect of Rivertown. Im embarrassed I dont know the guys name yet, but he is in there 99% of the time Ive bought parts, which is frequently. The amount of friendly customer service I have received is unfortunately unheard of in our modern word. A big thanks to this stellar employee.
Outstanding service always. I love that everyone gets involved in ensuring I get the help I need, from the person who sold me my 2016 Subaru Forester when it was new, Quenton Lassiter, to fellow sales rep Steve Hale, to service rep Ariel, and to the other kind servixe rep, a man, whose name I failed to get, who checked my car in for service. Every visit is exactly as good. I have never had a bad experience with Subaru. Only positive ones.
What a great experience for me and for my daughters first experience as well. Stephen was helpful from the beginning when we reserved the appointment online to the moment we signed and got the keys. Im truly impressed with his performance and knowledge, not to say his customer service skills were above par in my opinion. He will go far with that personality and drive at Subaru. As for Stacey, the sales manager was great too. He had us lined up and got things done in a timely manner. He was a pleasure to work with and made the financing experience a smooth one.Thank you so much guys, this experience will be shared with all my friends and family. A great deal is when all parties are happy in the end.Good luck Stephen and Stacey!!!
I didnt even want a Subaru. I went there to drive a used infinity. The salesman, Byron, casually suggested that I test drive a Subaru. It was a much better and I ended up buying a crosstrek. We never felt any pressure. It was like talking to an old friend. Thanks for the great experience guys!
We got a fairly decent deal on a trade in for a used Odyssey from Rivertown Subaru. The sales staff was good to work with and they were obviously concerned about our needs and they worked hard to make us satisfied. The service department seemed to lack in attention to detail, which is why I only rated 4 stars. If I had purchased a new vehicle from Rivertown Subaru, I have no doubt they would have received 5 stars from me. I would recommend this dealership as they were diligent, attentive, and willing to work with me (the customer.)
Thank you, MrFlakes for making everything better. I appreciate the call and the reimbursement. I will be back.607.00 dollars spent to NOT fix our Subaru. Was given a quote of over 8600.00 to replace motor in a 2009 Impreza. Different mechanic replace ignition part for 115.00 dollars. Car is fine now. Be aware.
The sales personnel are top notch! They are friendly and professional which made our car buying experience very positive. They were able to work with us in the purchase of 2 vehicles on the same day.The finance people are equally professional, taking adequate time to explain everything clearly and patiently.Rivertown Subaru made us feel like family. We highly recommend them!!A year has gone by, and we went back to purchase another Subaru with our son. Again, the team of professionals at Rivertown were amazing! They were patient and helpful in every way. They went out of their way to work within our budget, and gave us a fair trade in allowance.Their honesty and integrity are unparalleled! My family lives 3 hours away and will never shop anywhere else...they are well worth the drive!Thank you Rivertown Subaru!!! Youre the best!
Went in with my grandmother to look at possibly getting a Subaru. It was my first time ever buying a car which I was expecting to be a difficult and tedious experience and Steve (Ernest) Hale made it easy for me. All options and features of the car were explained to me and he was very patient in helping me understand what it was I was buying. Wayne was also great in helping me with the paperwork. Totally recommend this place to anyone who is a first time car buyer, they listen to you and are patient.
My experience at Rivertown Subaru was exceptional. In fact it was the best car buying experience in multiple vehicle purchases over the last 25 years. The staff at Rivertown were a pleasure to work with and my salesman, Quinton L., went out of his way to accommodate my time schedule. I traveled 190 miles each way to make the purchase with Rivertown.
Joe, our sales guy was awesome and fun to work with. He new all about the vehicle we were test driving and didnt try to hard sale me and my wife. The dealership was clean and welcoming.Last thing is the price for our vehicle was right in line with our budget. We would come again and I think you should give them a try.Germaine
First of all, I would like to thank the team that stayed after-hours for my arrival (after work Thomasville, GA to Columbus, GA) to purchase. I really appreciate you entrusting me to be there to purchase the car. I had already had trouble communicating with local dealers (in particular Albany area at Five Point Dealerships) for my desired Ford Edge. All I knew was that was the car I wanted at the best price possible. Scott was very pleasant and had my car pulled to front door for me as I arrived. It is the little things I appreciate. There was no rush, keep in mind my arrival was 15 minutes before closing! I guess having my financial part taken care of was somewhat a good thing at least as far as time was concerned. He assured me Rivertown was no Mom and Pop dealer. And sure enough it was not. My first car was purchased from a BuyHerePayHere so I knew what he meant. I have been enjoying my car for a week now!! Thank you for your service Rivertown Subaru
I had a great experience at Rivertown Subaru. At so many other dealerships, I was made to feel like I had no clue what I was talking about, or that my requests were in no way possible. But that was not the case here. David Rodriguez was so helpful, and not pushy. He even helped me figure out a way to best fit my dog crate in the back of the Subaru Forester! Overall, I cant say anything bad about my experience- and on top of that they sell great cars. All dealerships should follow this model.
So they towed my vehicle and actually did fix the busted wheels and blown tires, but..... GM and sales manager were very considerate of employees stealing my personal belongings from my car. Travel soccer coach with more than $2000 worth of gear and it’s not their fault or problem that their employees stole from my car. Supposedly, I signed a waiver...Multiple phone calls that resulted in both telling me and family to shut up because they didn’t like what I was saying. Please consider before you use them. Unfortunately, this is all there is in Columbus. Will never buy a Subaru again that’s for sure.
Only giving 1 star because that is the lowest number possible. Absolute worst customer service EVER buying a car. We are repeat Rivertown customers and have learned they are NOT all the same!! Rivertown Buick GMC will be the ONLY place we go from now on. They kept changing the numbers until we noticed it and pointed it out, they listed 2 million miles on my trade in and never spelled my name right even after getting a copy of my drivers license, and we had to be the ones to catch all the errors!!! All of this was AFTER they stood at the front desk for 20-30 minutes arguing about “well why do I have to do it” and complaining back and forth. Richard at Rivertown Buick GMC will be the only salesman and dealership we go to!! We left Rivertown Subaru and walked next door to the Buick/GMC dealership and explained the issues, they explained they couldn’t sale anything from Subaru lot BUT immediately found a car on their lot, offered DOUBLE for my trade in and I ended up with a nicer car for less. I originally came for one specific car which was unfortunately at Subaru but I found a even better deal at Buick/GMC! #thankyouRivertownBuickGMC
I came into River Town Subaru looking to walk out with a great car within my price range and I got exactly that. Joseph Vitkovitsky was such a great help and very easy to work with. He gave me all the information I needed as a first time car buyer and sat down with me to look at all of my options available at the dealership. I got the the perfect car for me with the car payments I wanted. I am so happy I chose Rivertown Subaru and that Joseph was my senior loan coordinator! Everything went extremely smooth and I got exactly the service I expected. If youre looking for a great car and a great deal go and see Joseph at Rivertown Subaru! You will NOT be disappointed!
Amazing experience, I found Rivertown by driving past. Sales were helpful and professional and went above and beyond to ensure that the car met my expectations. Josh in the shop was extremely knowledgeable and friendly when explaining tire wear patterns and steering components. Stephen and Stacey made sure that the transaction went as smoothly as possible. Thanks again!
Quinton Lassiter was a great guy. Only reason we stayed and bought a car after Damane Shepard ( Sales Manager) misled us about a car we were interested in buying. We had communicated throughout the day, but didn’t let me know the car had been sold till we arrived at dealership. Damane couldn’t even walk out and introduce himself after Quinton called and let him know we arrived. We had to go find him. Finance was great and the custodian congratulated us on the way out. The only negative I can say is about Damane Shepard. Luckily he has a great crew to make things happen or this dealership would be struggling because of Damane.
Michael Ippolito is a fantastic service manager and made sure I was aware of all costs and recommended service before they did anything to my Subaru Forester. This dealership is top-notch, and Michael and Ariel and Zach are all great service managers who are so quick to respond to calls and make sure all concerns are addressed. I also love that Subaru is the most ethical brand on the market and puts so much investmentinto environmental causes and supports Pet Rescue.
We had a wonderful experience at Subaru. Very welcoming and kind environment. We werent pressured into buying a car but felt comfortable enough to buy one. Steven was very helpful and understanding of what we were looking for in a car. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new car.
Service took about and hour and a half. Car was returned clean inside and out. I was very satisfied with Rivertown Subaru and all the people that work there are very friendly and a pleasure to work with. We bought our Outback there and the buying process was no hassle and actually pleasurable.I recommend Rivertown Subaru and we love our second Outback.
I bought my wife a Subaru Legacy, and liked it, and the salesman, and the dealership so much, that I went back within the next 30 days, and bought one for myself. John Saul was the salesman, and couldnt have been better, any more nice or genuine, and was an absolute pleasure to work with both times. The staff there aims to please the customer, which is a rarity in this day and age, so I was pleasantly surprised. Ive never owned a Subaru, and Ive already put over 1,000 miles on it within the past two weeks, and it is incredible!
Bought myself a new Subaru this past weekend. Helpful, friendly salesperson, without the much-dreaded hard-sell. Got a good price. Sales manager offered some extras (extended warranties, paint treatments, etc.) but didnt press the issue after I said no thank you. Would recommend to friends.
THE BEST!!!! Go see Steven! I had a great experience purchasing my dream Subaru. He got me everything I asked for and then explained every detail. I got the best deal in a timely manner with the best customer service Ive ever had. Im sticking with this dealership and this salesman for as long as he is at Rivertown Subaru!
We absolutely love our Subaru Outback! It was actually refreshing how fun, easy and straightforward Tim Newsome at Rivertown Subaru/Volvo made the entire process. Honestly, we had been dreading the thought of buying a new car, but Tim and Paxton made the whole process so easy. My husband and I walked away knowing we were treated fairly and respectfully. It was such a positive touch to be able to select a charity to donate to. We will definitely be repeat customers, but this Subaru will probably last for years and years!!
Great all around experience. The sales staff went out of their way to assist me in purchasing a new car. They listened to my needs and assisted me in finding the best match (unlike another car dealership in town). Anyway, if you are looking for a quality new, or used car please give Quinton, or Stacy, a call they will help you.
We had a great experience ! Quinton is the nicest salesman I have ever met in my life. He is very helpful and very friendly. He helped me set up my phone to the Bluetooth in the car because I didnt know how. They sold me a beautiful Subaru Outback. I would 100% do business with them again and I will recommend them to anyone who wants a great car buying experience!! :)
My car was towed in on an emergency situation late on a Saturday afternoon. They quickly took care of me got my car back there to diagnose the issue as fast and accurate as possible. Once we knew the problem then they helped me with securing a rental since it was going to take several days for the part to come in and they were out of loaners. My Service Advisor Ariel even took her own personal time after she clocked out to drive me over to the rental place and made sure I was taken care of. She kept me up to date the entire time, since my part was stuck in FL due to the hurricane. I am beyond happy with the service I received with everyone I came in contact with from the time I dropped off my car to the time I picked up my car.
Subaru was not on my radar when I was looking for a new SUV. My daughter needed her Mazda serviced, and went to the Subaru dealership. She was very impressed with their customer service, and I was extremely impressed with the low-key, helpful and knowledgeable sales staff. Tyler told me he doesnt need to sell cars - they sell themselves. I love my new Outback, cant say enough about the sales staff and would highly recommend Rivertown Subaru!!
Quinton Lassiter was our rep and treated us well. Knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous service. Overall good experience. I had my wife and three kids (8, 6, and 2) with me and he was very accommodating to them as we looked at the vehicle. Answered all of our questions. The sales process was easy, thorough, and respectful.
I was pleased with the service at Rivertown Subaru. Tim Newsome assisted me with review and purchase of the vehicle. Stacy Day provided me with financial options. I feel Rivertown Subaru was a good choice for me to purchase a vehicle because I did not feel any pressure and everything went smoothly.
This is a disreputable dealer to say the least. I was shopping for a vehicle and this dealer represents on their website that internet based shopping is available. We negotiated a price for my trade based on their blind appraisal process, and a buyers order was sent to me. Today I was finalizing my approved loan with my lender with plans to drive the 3 hours tomorrow with check in hand to trade my vehicle and buy theirs. Without evening telling me, they then sold the vehicle to another buyer today, and the only reason I found out this was happening was because I asked for an updated buyers order to reflect the down payment accurately, only to be told they were in the process of selling the vehicle to someone else.I stayed in constant contact with the dealer every step of the way to assure them that I was a serious internet buyer. If they had any doubt as to the veracity of my loan I could have easily shown them documentation that it was in process and approved. So fair warning that their internet buying is a scam, and dont waste your time with it. And really I think even if I lived there locally I would take warning of their disingenuous business practices and BUYER BEWARE. You cant even trust what they give you in writing.Even their own sales person was shocked and dismayed at the level of pathetic business ethics displayed by their Sales managers shady dealings.
Contacted Rivertown this morning around 10AM. Was told a sales manager would get in touch with me very soon to purchase a new vehicle. No one called, texted, or emailed me back. I attempted calling again and was routed to an answering machine. Again no call back.Business must be really great if you can afford to ignore customers who want to come in and buy today.Im taking my business elsewhere.Edit: After reading through some of the other reviews, it appears my experience with Rivertown is common. Id recommend avoiding this dealership to prevent adding stress to your car buying experience. There are plenty of other dealers in the Columbus area.
I had a great car buying experience with Tim Newsome and his sales manager. The buying process was very easy and I Love the new car. Thank you Tim for the great service and I definitely would recommend you. I would absolutely make future purchases from Rivertown Volvo of Columbus.
My second time in the Rivertown Service Department and again excellent. My service advisor, Michael Ippolito, was great, being courteous, professional, and straight up answering my many questions. Thanks to the mechanics as well, always doing a quality and prompt job on my periodic auto maintenance. This time they replaced wheel bearings (75K miles) on my Crostrek, a notable issue with otherwise excellent vehicle as discovered with a little web research. I will return to Rivertown for service and a new car when ready. Check them out!
I would highly recommend Rivertown Subaru in a car buying experience. Quentin our sales person was honest and helpful with no pressure. He is very knowledgeable and thorough going through the car buying experience. We are quite pleased with our car and would recommend our family and friends here.
My husband and I loved our experience we had with rivertown Subaru. Everyone was so helpful and kind to us. Especially our sales person Jalil. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient. He answered all our questions and all the questions my questionable husband had. He did not rush us and spent time with us beyond the clock. The dealership made us feel very comfortable and not pressured. When Jalil explained everything to us about the outback I came away feeling very comfortable with the car. Jalil really knows his stuff. I am extremely happy with my Subaru outback and my husband and I feel we made a great purchase. I would recommend Rivertown Subaru and Jalil hands down.
I have been thinking about purchasing a new car recently and while at Rivertown Subaru I was asked by my wife to just checkout the Forester. Tyler was very nice and explained all the ins and outs of the small SUV. I really like how it drove and all the features like all wheel drive, heated leather seats, moon roof, 2.5 engine, lane assist, lots interior room, good driver visibility, and a nice stereo system. After driving it, I returned and told my wife who was having her Subaru Outback serviced how much I liked it but was not ready to buy that day.Tyler came back after a few minutes and told us that for the next few days there is zero percent financing. That was what sold me to buy that day.Tyler and the rest of the staff at Rivertown Subaru were very professional and curtious throughout the whole process of the purchase.Thank you,Adam Weinbaum
This dealership was great! From the first contact on the internet to face to face at the dealership. Not only did they work hard to get me the best deal, they kept in touch with me throughout especially since I live 2 hours away... they were great! I will only go to Rivertown for my next Subaru or any automobile.
The thing I loved about this dealership was that I wasnt bombarded with sales people when I hit the lot. I spent about 30 minutes walking around looking at all the cars. I had been to several dealerships and was turned off by aggressive sales and left without buying. I LOVE my new Subaru. What do I love the most, is everything, only thing missing is a dog :) Thank you all. The sale couldnt have gone smoother.
Im not one for writing negative reviews on anything or anyone. I will refrain from typing names, or swearing, although there have been a few times since buying this car 2.5 months ago I have or have wanted to. I tend to take things in stride whether I have made a good or bad decision. Im writing this as a notice, or as a lessons learned to any young families preparing to purchase a newer car from a established car dealership. Please read this and be smarter than I. I purchased a used vehicle from this location, first ever vehicle with under 70k miles and was very happy that my little family was able to locate a vehicle that met all of our basic wants. Used, only 1 previous owner, SUV, 4x4, mid range mileage. Really wanted 4x4 SUV being I am military and will likely end up at a location with less than favorable weather. My wife and I looked around for about 9 weeks. Primarily on the internet, we visited some local dealerships. We chose to visit and test drive a vehicle that met our wants and needs, to include price range
Came from out of town to buy a Subaru STi and was contacting the salesman through email and an occasional phone call, within a day I came to pick up the car. Communication was great, friendly staff, and low prices for a quality used vehicle with warranty. I will definitely recommend Rivertown Subaru for all your Subaru needs. CONS: Interior of car was not thoroughly detailed, coolant was nearly bone dry. Those are my only complaints.
Employees that sold me my car were very knowledgeable, helpful and worked with me on price. They went above and beyond to make the experience comfortable and easy. I will definitely consider them next time I am in the market for a new car and would recommend them to friends and family.
I drove 2 hours out of my way just to do business with this dealership. I began working with Parker Kirchinger via email. He answered all of my questions, found the car I wanted, and offered a fair price. By the time I visited the dealership to make the purchase, all details were ironed out, so it was an absolute hassle-free experience, and I was in and out in less than an hour. Parker did an excellent job keeping updated throughout every step of the process and communicated both professionally and timely. I highly recommend Rivertown Subaru and especially Parker Kirchinger.
We are searching for a decently priced car for our teenage daughter. Joseph Vitkovitsky is very knowledgeable with the used vehicles, and keeps us informed on the cars as they arrive to the dealership. There has not been any pressure, and we have been able to take our time. I have been extremely pleased.
Rivertown Subaru was very helpful when my 2014 Forestor broke down on the side of the road. I called and asked for help getting a tow to their dealership, it took 3 towing services before we finally got one on the phone. Once it was finally towed to Rivertown it was closing time but they let me check in my car anyway. The next day Friday they had a loaner car available for me to use for free while my car was being worked on. Which is great since I would not have been able to get to work otherwise Monday-Wednesday while we waited for parts. With having to get a new fuel pump and new car battery the cost was pretty high luckily I had a coupon that I was able to use. The people are the main reason I keep going back to rivertown Subaru.
I came to get my oil changed. I was nervous because l was slightly over my checkup mileage so additional work was needed but the Service Department Representative Zac put me at ease. He was polite, informative, and had an excellent customer-focused attitude. He took the time to answer my questions without being condescending or making me feel as if I was taking up his time. He made the experience a positive one and I would definitely recommend Zac if you take your car for service. Now my Subi and I can have many more adventures.
Oil change was fine. However when they rotated my tires they didn’t tighten my drivers side front tire. When I got home the tire was almost off and I could hand tighten the bolts. The tire could have come all the way off and I had my 1 year old daughter in the car. 100% unacceptable.
“Committed to being truly outstanding” is printed at the top of the business card of Troy Graham, general manager of Rivertown Subaru Auto Mall, Whittlesey Road, Columbus, Georgia, the location of my first Subaru purchase in May 2014. Troy Graham and all of the employees at the Rivertown Subaru dealership have been outstanding so much so that my purchase experience has exceeded my expectations and to a degree that has compelled me to write my first online review. Troy Graham, the general manager; Mr. John Saul, my sales consultant; and Mr. Van Wilson, the business manager, have most definitely lived up to Subaru’s commitment to provide the highest standards of product quality and to adhere to the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Prior to arriving at the Subaru dealership I test drove cars at other dealerships in town, all of which left me skeptical about purchasing a new car. In particular the sales consultant at the Kia dealership was totally uninformed about the first car that I test drove. I intended to drive a second car; however, the Kia sales consultant took a cigarette break, so I left. In stark contrast to this experience was my next stop, the Rivertown Subaru dealership in Columbus, Georgia, which was the most positive purchase experience that I have encountered in my lifetime. Specifically, here are only a few of the many examples of the outstanding service that I received at Rivertown Subaru: Mr. John Saul met me within seconds in the parking lot and discussed with me the value of owning a Subaru. Specifically, he informed me about the Subaru XV Crosstrek which immediately caught my attention. Mr. John Saul’s knowledge of Subaru cars was impressive and in complete contrast to the sales consultant that I had encountered minutes earlier at Kia, who seemed to know very little about cars and even less about the value of first impressions. After the test drive and my discussions with Mr. Saul about the Crosstrek, I was totally convinced that the Crosstrek was the car for me. The high gas mileage, the overall look and feel and smooth drive of the Crosstrek, and Mr. Saul’s knowledge of Subaru and their standards and philosophy were what sold me on this car. Furthermore, I had no intention of trading my existing sports car; however, I changed my mind when the general manager gave me the exact dollar amount that I originally paid for the car that I owned for over three years. Moreover, Mr. Wilson and Mr. Saul were very well-organized and informative during the purchase transaction. The employees left me with the message that Subaru’s service to their customers does not end with a sales contract. In the days that followed, Mr. Saul called twice to make sure that all was well with my new Crosstrek. I drove the car for nine days, each day my satisfaction with the car increasing, before I was involved in an accident. At this most stressful time, I was more than one hundred percent satisfied with Mr. Troy Graham’s generous solutions during the car repair process and am most grateful for all that he did to help me so much so that I consider it a blessing. It was during this difficult time that it was most evident that Mr. Troy Graham stands behind the words on his business card: “Committed to being truly outstanding.” I most definitely trust and appreciate the employees of the Rivertown Subaru dealership in Columbus, Georgia. I feel very comfortable recommending the Rivertown Subaru dealership to my family, friends, and the general public. Currently, I am back in my Subaru Crosstrek and loving it.A 100% completely satisfied Rivertown Subaru customer,Robin
I bought my Outback here just a little over 3 years ago. It was my first experience buying a car from a dealer; naturally I was hesitant going in (due fear of the classic salesman stereotype), and buying used without it being a proper certified pre-owned model. Im happy say it was a totally easy, honest, and up front sale.UPDATE. I noticed a noise during test driving but the salesman said it was just normal for CVT and since I’d never had one before I didn’t know what to expect. I got this checked out twice at another dealership and strangely enough it wasn’t a problem until after the warranty expired, and all of a sudden I’m hit with over $10k in repairs. I believe the dealership knowingly sold me a car with issues. I feel very fortunate that nothing happened on the road but I would not recommend this place based on long term experiences. If you are looking for a car, particularly a used vehicle, my advise is to purchase local enough that you can take it back should any issues arise.
Steven Henders on was great to work with as was the finance dept. This is the 2nd time Ive purchased from them and both experiences were great. I dislike going back and forth on price. I do my homework, call in advance tell them what i want and have them prepare everything so all I have to do is go in, test drive, and sign. Its really great!
This place is so awesome and nice to their customers. They explain everything very thoroughly and they dont push you into anything youre not willing to get yet. They really work with you to get you into a vehicle of your liking. Their service department is amazing as well. Very quick and if it is going to take longer they come in and speak with you.
Owner of a 2016 STI, having a weird tire issue that is causing the car to drift a particular way under acceleration. The service department took the time to really look into and figure out what was wrong Im the face of a very odd problem. And even though it took a couple days to diagnose the issue, they stuck with their free diagnostic policy. Also wrote me a comprehensive assessment to bring back to the place where I got the tires from. Would recommend.
Not a place I’d go for good business. Management allows employees to steal items from vehicles without any repercussion. They shifted the blame to make it seem like it was our fault that we trusted them with our keys. Make sure you take that car looking brand new if you go, if not, they’ll clear it out for you.
Sales team is good, but consistently slow service department. 3rd check up in a row where I made an appointment the previous day and still ended up waiting 2 hours before they touched my car which always puts me at around 3+ hour wait time. Why even bother to make an appointment?
We tried to buy a Forester here back when it was Jay Subaru. We got such a run around that we bought it else where. However, we went back recently to buy another one and had a totally different, and much better experience!!! We bought this one locally.Service is another issue however. We have had some issues with both of our Foresters (a 2014 and a 2017). The service department is confusing and cant fix anything that seems unusual - which both cars have already had. I have no confidence in them and have decided its worth having service done out of town to get more competence.
I spent Friday evening discussing a car over the phone that I was interested in a car and the fact that I was over 2 hours away. It was confirmed that they had the car I want. I set up an appointment for the next day and received an email confirmation for the time and vehicle that I was interested in. I made it clear I was driving a distance and they made it clear the car was available. After driving TWO AND A HALF HOURS I arrived only to find out, not only was the vehicle sold. Sold and a down-payment had been applied the day before... after I had spoken to them on the phone. No phone call. No text. No email. No car after driving over 120 miles one way. Were sorry, they said. It was a screw up. Tell that to the entire day I lost and the 40 dollars in fuel I spent driving down and back again and to my father who took off work so that he could drive the borrowed car Ive been driving back. Were sorry.Well, so am I.If I could give this place zero stars, I would.
Joe vitkovitsky is a consummate professional who knows his way around a vehicle. I bought a 2015 Subaru Outback and i couldnt have had a better experience. Joe was polite, knowledgeable and no pressure. I would recommend Rivertown subaru to anyone looking to buy any vehicle.
These are very nice looking cars with the best value for a four-wheel drive. Except for their CVT transmissions. If they would put a regular transmission back in those cars theyll run forever. Like the old Subarus used to do. The one I had had a straight shift.just tried getting one of them with a straight shift.a new clutch is a lot cheaper than trying to replace one with one of those CCT bands exploding inside of the trans.if they had a normal 6 or 10 speed automatic transmission I would buy one for my retirement and travel with confidence .
Tag office representatives were rude and dismissive. I bought a vehicle in December. It is now March and still cannot register my car due to the tag office representatives messing up the title request and not catching it until I called twice! Then, they still waited until the following week to resubmit! I still cannot be sure if the request was resubmitted. Unbelievable.
This dealer was great they gave me a “Complementary service “or so I thought, they said they would find out what was wrong with my car free of charge and when I went to leave and get my keys they handed me a bill after I talked to them 5 hrs before and they said it was free and they would call me before they started to charge me. 5 hrs later my car was really very fast btw and I never received a call telling me I was going to be receive a bill the gentleman in the camo jacket very nice and easy to talk to I think it was their policy to send a bill but they fixed it quick and took very great care of me and Kevin thief tech was a very smart guy with my style of car.
Steven Henderson was AH-MAZING!! Actually, the whole staff in sales were fantastic!! Steven make the process easy, efficient and wasted no time! Knowledge of the vehicles made me very comfortable in what I was purchasing. Thank yinz so much for having caring, knowledgeable salesmen in your store!!
If I could give them 0 stars I would!!! Last week my wife called to verify that a Subaru Tribeca that they had listed for about 15K was still there. They told her that it was still there, so she set up an appointment for me to drive down to view the vehicle after I got off work. She told me that they would be expecting me around 7 pm since I had to drive down from northeast Atlanta- DURING rush hour traffic. I got down to Columbus around 7:30 to be met by a salesman who asked if I talked to anyone on the phone. I told him that I did not, but my wife did. The person on the phone told her that all I needed to do when I got there was to give her name and phone number, and a sales rep could pull the car around for me to check it out. UNFORTUNATELY, once I mentioned what car I was there to view, the salesman said, Ooooo, sorry, but that car sold two days ago. TWO DAYS AGO?!?!?!?!?!? Then why LIE and tell my wife that the car was still in stock, then go and make an appointment for me to drive down and view something that YOU KNOW is not there. The salesman then tried the old bait and switch sales tactic, where he said, Well, lets see if we can find something comparable to what youre looking for. Keep in mind, I am PISSED beyond belief... I can honestly say that I havent been this mad or frustrated in a LONG WHILE- and I teach middle school kids. Anyways, long story short, we didnt find anything on their lot even close to the deal that they offered online. The salesman then got the manger, Mike involved. I discussed my concern with Mike and just asked him to put himself in my shoes. Your wife was just lied to. You drove over 3 hours in traffic to view a car that you knew was not there. You basically do not get to see your wife and kids that day because a dealership in south Georgia wants to play games. Mike went on to tell me that it is basically out of their control because all of the sales calls go straight to a call center in TEXAS, and they do not have up to date access to the inventory in COLUMBUS, GEORGIA. Mike also told me that he was a man of integrity and he would do everything in his power to make it right. I left him my phone number and email, but I have yet to hear from him. Mike thanked me for how I handled the situation, because not once did I curse or raise my voice to him or his salesman, but good Lord knows that I felt like it. To take it even further- I wasnt even going to write a negative review on this place, even after everything they put my family through... UNTIL yesterday, my wife got a voicemail from Gerald Sandoval- the guy from the call center asking if I was able to make the appointment and how I liked the car... Typing this review is getting my blood pressure up- so Ill just leave you with that. WHAT AN INSULT AND A SLAP IN THE FACE.
The service took a little longer than the guy on the phone explained, but the dealler was kind and explained why that was. The people there were very nice and informative. Michael Ippolito was very forthcomming with information, was very kind, and made me feel like he really wanted to help me. The car had some smudges on the window after the cleaning, but i atribute that with my mom rushing things at the end. Now that i have more information and know that the staff is willing to work with me, i feel more comfertable with intrusting my car to this dealler. Thank you for everything
I had an hour to kill, so I went into my local Subaru dealership here and was wanting to ask them a couple questions because my wife is looking at getting a new Outback. Walked around outside just for a second, and then I thought Id go inside and walked around looked around in there. I waited at the front desk for about 20 minutes, I left. No one came and asked me if I needed any help, or if I needed anything at all.
What can I say but they are a bunch of liars! I wanted to purchase a used 2007 BMW 328i VIN WBAVA33557PG51721. I am military and was going to move to Columbus and needed a car. Called them about the car and they said it was still available around 25FEB15. Then they informed me later that it was no longer for sale as it was auctioned off due to being in the lot for too long and there was no way of getting the car back. That was 4 weeks ago and not only is the car still available on their website, but the price was reduced by $500 since on 20MAR15. How can a car they have auctioned off and without any chance of getting back have its price lowered!?! Perhaps they dont like military as I mentioned I was military and moving there but was not yet on the ground? I am very disappointed and warn anyone not to believe anything these shysters say!
I went to this place looking for something very specific in the truck department and the employee that helped me (Joseph Vitkovitsky) was very helpful! Not only did he help me find what I was looking for, but with me being so picky on what I needed he stayed calm the entire time. Awesome customer service!

2022-03-07Our experience was phenomenal. We were helped the minute we walked in the door and everyone was extremely pleasant. Byron was so personable and friendly, obviously taking great pride in the quality of the Subaru brand. He was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicles and was able to answer all of our questions. The gentleman in Finance was just as knowledgeable and pleasant and had us in and out of there in no time. Even the gentleman who detailed our car smiled and said congratulations when he brought the keys back in. This is our first Subaru but it definitely wont be our last. I cant imagine going anywhere else to purchase our next one.

2022-02-14Went to see Byron at Rivertown Subaru and he listened to what I wanted and expected out my new vehicle. I knew I wanted a Subaru simply because of the outstanding safety features and resale value. Byron heard it all and matched me with the best he had. I love my Subaru Outback and as far as I’m concerned I am a Subaru lady from here on.

2022-03-15My experience with this dealer was not positive. I took my car here for a big repair on the break system, and it took 2.5 weeks. The technician that was taking care of the care recommended changing the break-pads because they were worn out. The thing is I had just changed them at another shop 3 weeks before. This seemed dishonest, and an attempt for a money grab.Once my car was repaired, it was given back to me completely dirty. All my belongings were thrown around the car as if it had been broken into, although nothing was missing. Coins, receipts, car mats, chargers, all thrown around the seats and car floor. The car also had grease and oil marks on the seat, steering wheel, and all over the console. The car was also super dirty outside. It was clear they just finished they job and considered it done. For these two reasons I decided to not go to this location again. The staff is friendly once you talk to them, but overall they seem very disorganized the two times Ive worked with them.

2021-12-17Our experience with Rivertown Subaru was great! We ordered our vehicle in late August/early September and received it in December. Although the wait was long, the salesman Quinton Lassiter kept us informed frequently as to the delivery. He responded quickly and professionally to all our questions. We were notified promptly when our Forrester arrived in Columbus. When we picked up our vehicle, Quinton handled the final part of the purchase quickly and professionally. He was very knowledgeable about the Forrester as he explained everything we needed to know on how it operated. The Finance Director David Rodriguez explained our extended warranty, which we chose to purchase. We are very happy with the overall experience with Rivertown Subaru and should we need another vehicle in the future, we will return to them. Thank you to everyone for making this experience great! 2022-03-16First, I must say I never submit reviews. If the service is great I usually send a hand written thank you note. This has by far been the most disappointing service I have received that I can recall. I consider my self a solution driven person who always seek to find the positive and best solutions for undesirable situations. I just purchased a car from them only to find out the car needs a new transmission. I experienced a very rough ride home which was about 1.5 hours. I took it to the Acura dealership here and they fixed the front wheel axles which was a pretty large amount of money ( $2,200) Subaru did take care of this. After picking up the vehicle from them, I noticed the problem was still not resolved. I returned it and went for a ride with their master technician whom then confirmed the jerking and stalling I was feeling was the transmission. Of course I was deeply disappointed. I called the finance company and sent documentation from the finance companys dealer compliance and fraud department. I then emailed the information to the GM ( Charles Flakes). He immediately called me to get a synopsis of the problem. I told him and he said, Let me get with my service manager and Ill call you back in 15 mins. The finance company then sends me an email stating they had been trying to contact someone at the dealership that Friday but was unsuccessful and they would try again on Monday. I never talked to Mr. Flakes on Friday, neither Saturday, nor the following Monday. I did a follow-up call with the finance company and thankfully they have agreed to cancel the contract. Needless to say, Im sharing this experience with others so you are made aware and proceed with precaution when dealing with this dealership. However, I will say my experience with David Rodriquez was the best! His professionalism, knowledge, relatability, and friendliness gave me a slight positive view of this experience.

2022-04-30I feel bad writing this review but I am absolutely done. I purchased my vehicle about 3 months ago and I specifically asked to have my plate transferred to my new vehicle from my trade in. After the car finally arrived, I realized that the dealership did not transfer my plate and had instead ordered a new one. Ordering a new plate is substantially more expensive than transferring, but I let it go. My car is registered in Florida because I’m military, which allows me to register my car in my home of record and I thought maybe something got messed up there. I asked what do I do with the old plate and they said to not worry about it. I go out of town for a month and a half for work and come home to see a letter from Florida DMV informing me that my (previous) car did not have insurance and my license was going to be suspended if I didn’t get the required insurance. When I was finally able to call the DMV and find out what was going on, I found out that they were not aware that I had traded in my vehicle. Since they issued new plates and the dealer never informed them that they now own the vehicle, the DMV believed I was still the owner and had failed to acquire the necessary insurance. I was then informed by the DMV that I was going to have to mail my plates to them. I only had one day until my license was suspended, so I overnighted them to Florida, which cost $60.00. Of course they still didn’t arrive in time to prevent my license being suspended. While the DMV now has the plates and has lifted the suspension, I still had to pay an additional fee to have my license reinstated. When I called the FL DMV to explain my situation I asked if a dealer in GA is able to transfer Florida plates over and they said YES it is possible and all they needed to do was the correct paperwork.Im never going back here. Please make sure you check your paperwork. This is ridiculous.
