A gem in the heart of Augusta touring sacred heart was beyond my imagination. The beauty of the flowers are among some of the best Ive ever seen. We did the audio tour with headphones helping me to connect with some of the amazing aspects of this beautiful building. I can see why every girls dream is to get married there it would be almost like a magical wedding. The history behind the whole museum makes it even better!! Staff is also an amazing added bonus!!
I have been wanting to go here since moving to Augusta and the experience certainly didnt disappoint! The architecture from the outside looked amazing every time I drove by, and the interior decoration certainly equals the high bar that was set by that exterior perception. I was also impressed by the acoustics in the main hall as different bands played on stage. Of course the photographic opportunities where outstanding. Certainly a must-see stop in any Augusta itinerary. Highly recommended!
I recently attended a wedding at Sacred Heart and it was so beautiful. The sweeping arches and stained glass windows are breath taking even before you enter the huge santuary area. As you enter you will be amazed by the beautiful columns and richly painted interior. The reception and wedding were held in the same room so during the time after the ceremony but before the reception we were invited out to the lush courtyard. There were tables for drinks and amazing Southern style cocktail foods and drinks. Such a lovely piece of history and charm.
Once a Catholic Church, it is now the Sacred Heart Cultural Center, and our local home for the American Red Cross. Donating blood was my reason for visiting today, not my 1st blood donation, by far, but my 1st visit to the Cultural Center. It dates back to 1897, is listed on the National Historic Places. Free tours are available as well as a gift shop showcasing local artists, gifts, and accessories.
Pure elegance! It will take your breath away. I was a vendor at the Sacred Heart Garden Festival and this was the best experience ever. I was checked on by the many warm, cheerful volunteers. The festival itself was beautiful. Exquisite plants for sale and you cant miss the butterfly house. I understand that there is a lovely gift shop with lots of local themed merchandise. I intend to visit it soon!
Stopped by the Sacred Heart gift shop to buy an Arts in the Heart badge, then wound up staying to peruse the gift shop as well as the newly installed Women on Paper exhibit. Had a delightful time! Staff were friendly & knowledgeable. Gift shop was filled with eclectic mix of artsy items. Women on Paper exhibit was wonderful -- highlighting the considerable talents of a group of local professional artists. The exhibit is open to the public through October 31st. Catch it if you can.
Awesome space for a wedding, party or corporate event. The interior of the building is stunning. There is ample parking right in front of the building and there are off duty deputies providing security at most events. Consider this place if you need to rent a large space for any event.
Sacred Heart is positively beautiful! The design, history, & markings that go along with Sacred Heart make the venue even more intriguing. So many grand uses (weddings, receptions, exhibitions, tours, musical entertainment, poetry readings, cultural center, etc.) for this place make it one visitors end up frequenting.
Attended a wedding for some soon to be relatives,The venue was elaborate, beAutiful and well setup. As for the location it was most comfortable.Going here for the history will be a treat, while attending.for specific events has its own charateristics which to regard.Go and see for yourself, Im glad i did.
I went to visit this venue this past weekend for my wedding in summer 2017. I was to meet with the property manager Raymond. When my family and I arrived he kept us waiting at the door and yelled at us because he wasnt aware there was a tour scheduled for us. He proceeded to show us the venue but was very rude while answering questions. My Fiance was disgusted by the UN professionalism.

2022-03-20What an incredible, unforgettable evening here tonight for the soul-reviving, mind-captivating, heart-shaking performance of the Augusta Choral Society!!! Beautiful venue with so much history. We came early to take the environment in and just enjoy this building in and if itself for a moment. And the courtyard is breath-taking… The entire experience made me feel so ALIVE!

2019-10-21The Sacred Heart is absolutely stunning! The brochure provided with the tour allows you to proceed at your own speed. We opted not to do the tour with the headphones, simply b/c I like reading at my own pace, and I was with my children. I have a daughter in a wheelchair, so we took the advice given on their fb page, and called when we got there, and were let in through their wheelchair entrance. So very thoughtful. They actually did that twice for us b/c twenty minutes after getting there, we decided to go pick up my mother-in-law so she could enjoy the tour with us. The staff was lovely, and the tour was perfect.

2022-02-27Went there for the Wet Paint Party and Art Sale. My daughter, a glass artist was one of the exhibitors. What a beautiful place to show art, it is art its self. I had a great time.

I highly recommend the audio tour (there are interviews and facts shared you will miss otherwise). Greeted by the most delightful women and greatly appreciate the extra time taken to chat with us. A true treasure!

2018-11-28This was a BEAUTIFUL place to host our reception for the 2018 Southeastern Archaeological Conference. As someone who always enjoys spending time in historic places (and spent her Europe vacation in all the cathedrals and churches), I will say that this one was impressive, elegant, and reminiscent of the past architecture. I didnt organize the reception, so I cant speak to the ease of the set-up, but I did love how open and inviting it was. They have a section dedicated to the history of the deconsecrated church and the past parishioners. This is a great place for events or just to see a cool, old church!

2020-01-17This is one of my favorite landmarks in Augusta that I finally got to visit during the garden expo a couple of months ago. Ive always been fascinated by the architecture and hope people will be able to enjoy its beauty for centuries to come. The people who work hard to keep this building preserved are very much appreciated.
