A decent, no frills, very affordable campground near Macon, GA. Although the sewer system backed up during our two day stay, the staff was responsive and had it squared away within a couple of hours. If you need a cost effective place to stay near Macon, its a solid choice.
The lady that runs the place is really nice. The sites are pretty level and there are all the hook ups you need, plus bathrooms with showers. Its a little limited as far as there is no pool here and it was hot when I stayed there. Other then that, all good...... very affordable! $28 for the night with AAA.
We were very pleased with our overnight stay. Spacious pull-through sites with 50 / 30 / 20 amp service, appears to be newly upgraded electrical. Water and sewer. Our drive took longer than expected, and the friendly proprietor drove out at 11:15 PM to meet us at the gate, guide us to our site, and make sure we knew how everything worked. They also have a pretty clean bath house with 2 private bathrooms. The shower had good hot water and great water pressure. There were also coin laundry machines which we didn’t use.
Nice flat pull throughs. For one night stop, got to dump at the site, and leave the next morning without a out of other set-ups needed. Didn’t need to level. Came in late at night, and when I called, they were right there to show me the way. I have used them twice, and will use them again . A couple of years ago, the bath house and laundry was just put in. It was a big mobile home with each room made into a shower room with a toilet . Nice and roomy, private. What used to be the living room is now the laundry machines. On one end is a large screen porch .
Dollie the Manager is very helpful when you have a problem with the trailer youre renting even when its late at night. Shell make sure that the maintenance man or her husband comes out and fixes it. A lot of improvements are being added to the park. It is quiet and the surroundings are pretty with all the trees. Stores are close by which make it convenient.
Great place to come and relax from a long trip,Ive lived in This RV/Mobile Home Park For 9 Years now People here are friendly love the Pond and all of Gods nature here the, ducks and geese that come to visit along with all the reg. birds there are alot of different trees in the area like Dogwood trees and tall pines for example....Would love to see you on your visit with us here at SAFE HAVEN R.V.PARK....To me it has a country feel to the park surrounded by the City of Macon Ga.
I can’t say a whole lot about this place because we only stopped overnight. I gave 5 stars because when we were traveling through the area, it started raining and got dark quickly. We spent 2 hours trying to find a place to stay. These people have an after-hours number and actually answer the phone. We were able to get a spot and were met by someone at the gate and helped to our site. So a big thank you to Safe Haven RV!
This is an older rv park. The neighbor around it isnt the greatest but i feel safe in the rv park. I lived in rv resorts, on land in a pasture and little rv parks like this one. There are fruit trees and bushes that i pick figs and berries from in the summer. They are pet friendly. They do not tolerate issues in the park. Like i said its an older park but improvements are being made. Ive been here a year now. Two ponds to relax at. A new covered picnic area was added last summer. I find the owner and Dolly very nice and workable. And the rates are very reasonable. Oh and they allow timy houses here and theres fish in the pond. I like it here!
What a nice place. We stopped overnight on our way south. The newly remodeled shower/ laundry was very nice. It was in a refurbished trailer, stained glass windows, nice big bathrooms with showers. The owner, Ron, was super nice and explained his vision for updating the park. Its off the beaten path, but worth it. If it works out, we will stay there again on our way home.
I have stayed at Safe Haven on and off for 3 years being a contractor and have always been pleased with the place and the people that run it. Fair price for full hook up and isnt as crammed as most campsite. Has a couple big fields for the dogs to run around in which is the kicker for me.
Wow. This place has so many treasures. The large development has space available for RV enthusiasts, tiny home seekers, and traditional living quarters. I was thoroughly impressed of how it has transitioned from a ran down eye sure after the hurricane and now to a Blossoming landscape that will continue to accommodate people who desire a secluded but constantly improving living area. Its right off the highway and based on the owners vision will be beautiful green friendly space with live animals, more water frontage, community gardens, and newly built children and dog parks. This place future is bright and I cant wait too see what it has in store. Very impressive grounds..
I enjoyed my stay at Safe Haven.I was in the area for a week for a small job.It was peaceful, the owner was friendly and helpful .Its a great stop for me ,close to food and shopping.Nice laundry and shower facilities.I would stay there again.I found it easiest and best to come in from the 75 / 41 side of the park. ( The Waffle House ) side of the park. There is a bit of a hill if you approach Glendale ave. from the backside.Only a concern if you are pulling a large rig. Thanks for a pleasant Stay.
Very nice secluded park and quiet. Staff is very friendly. Bathrooms, Showers and Laundry house is very clean. Very reasonable prices . Stayed there on the way to Tn and we enjoyed it so much we stayed there on our way back as well. If ever up that way again, we will stay there again.
Dont let the neighborhood fool youAs a contract nurse working nights, I felt very safe there and it was quiet during the day for me to sleep. The community is gated and you have to have a code to get in. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is not a vacation destination but nice place to stop and rest or if you are working in town I definitely recommend staying here.
Ron (the owner), is an awesome guy who has a great campground. He is personable and respectful, but treats everyone like an old friend.A friend and I were biking across the country and he let us stay at a last minute request, he has a great location and had the cleanest showers and bathrooms we had stayed at the whole trip.Additionally, he cares about both the property and the people. He is working hard and investing greatly to add to his RV park. 5 stars and would stay again.
We started staying at this park 2 years ago to attend the Cherry Blossom festival and have returned twice since then. Each time we come back have been AMAZED at the improvements. Great laundry room and facilities, wonderful places to walk the dog, the staff is very friendly and helpful and now there is a Bojangles nearby! Will definitely return when in the area!
Never again!! The employee that was supposed to check us in was rude. Unbelievably rude...what do you want? There was trash blowing everywhere. The open areas were overgrown. She couldnt be bothered to even introduce herself to me.Had it not been for a helpful resident, we wouldnt have found the office. Thank goodness it was only one night! It was a nasty place!
There are several kinds of RVers. If you are the kind looking for a $55 KOA with splash pad and camping store for the kids - this place is not for you, but if you are looking for a very fair price, surprisingly clean bathrooms and laundry facilities and friendly staff people, this is a GREAT location. There are a mix of newer and older rigs. Entire park is relatively clean, all sites are pretty clean and neat. Bathrooms are very clean. It looks a little deceiving, as it also has a trailer park with lots of old trailers, but it is kept pretty nice. Currently With Good Sam discount it is full hookup including sewer for $28, you can’t go wrong. There is no cable, but lots of over the air channels here and decent data reception on both Sprint and Verizon. They also have basic WiFi for free. We plan to use this again next time we are in this neck of the woods. Stayed 3 nights in March 2019. Great staff. The area around the park seems maybe a little sketchy, but it is very quiet back in the park. Walking distance to a Bojangles chicken and a couple gas stations. About a mile to grocery store (but busy highway that you would probably not want to walk). Highly recommend this park for all basic living needs in decent surroundings and very convenient to city of Macon.
Called ahead, perfect. At 5:00 pm arrival we called as instructed. No answer 3 times to voicemail with mail box full. Drain screw collar was damaged. Told them we need level spot for class a diesel. Needed wood under tires and jacks. Over night we got infested with ants. Go elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the concept of this community, its up and coming. Susan is smart and has great ideas for now and the future. Ron, the owner, seems to have a strong vision of where he is wanting his complex to grow. Quiet, gated, and peaceful. Lots lie ahead for this place, Im a serious about investing in this community.....as I own other rentals in Atlanta as well. Have faith in where it is and the plans moving forward. Lots of shopping centers close by and service stations. Cheers, Penny
Safe Haven RV Park - what a great place! The best welcome ever, from the staff to the owner! Attentive, friendly and responsive personnel, clean facilities, easy access..what else can you ask for?! We were going through Macon, Georgia and decided to stay a couple of extra days to visit the Cherry Blossom International Festival, the Big House Museum - great memorabilia of the Allman Brothers , the Indian Mounds, and we made a improvised trip to the tiny town of Juliette, Georgia, where they filmed the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. Theyre fixing up the park. Keep up the good work!...well be back for sure!
Easy access off interstate 75 just 2 blocks away, managers are very helpful and will see you to your site. Great place if you need a stop over while passing through or if you need to be close to downtown Macon or the surrounding areas. The park is still being renovated / improved as of this writing.
OK for quick stop. Close to restaurants. As others have said you have to call to be checked in, no office. Just be aware there are TONS of ants so be prepared to spray. It took less than 1hour for us to be INVADED. Our neighbor did too. There are several long term campers.
Great stop over campground. Very helpful staff, and the cleanest hot showers you will ever take with brand new fixtures and a nice laundry area with a big screen porch attached to relax and sit in . All sites are easy pull through, and there is a Bojangles right next door to get breakfast and head on out quickly.
As we pulled into the campground late yesterday, the manager met us in the drive and walked us directly into this nice, quiet spot for the night. He helped us set up, and we were all done in a few minutes. This campground provided just want we wanted. It was $28 for the night, immaculately maintained grounds, ample privacy, and so much space to walk our 3 Jack Russells. A Piggly Wiggly is two blocks away along with a Dollar Tree. A new Bojangles is just off the entrance to the campground, and an easy walk. Multiple other fast food places are very close. In the past, we have always stayed at Walmart in Macon. But, with all the new signs saying no trailers or trucks, plus how busy the store is, we much preferred having a restful night in a beautiful, rural campground.
Dogs pend up outside barking. Lots need work. Hwy traffic all night. Electric and water worked good. They are a no office campground #1 reservations didnt call back after 2 times call picked #3 administration (the owner) got the reservation lady to call back. We got there need a code to get in called #3 he go someone to come open gate. #2 is for maintenance he does it all.
Safe Haven Is Anything But Safe. From The Owner Down To His Management Team Are Crooks !! I Had The Unpleasant Experience Of Living There. Susan The Crook Will Tell You Anything Just To Get Her Hands On Your Money. After She Has Your Money You Become A After Thought. Go Somewhere Else To Get A Good Nights Rest Or Live. And If You Like Roaches Then This The Place For You. Protect Yourself And The Ones You Love.... Go Somewhere Else.
This Campground is full of criminal element its not the customers its not the campers if the management and the owner theyre here to take your money in the take your goods take your belongings that color self Safe Haven because they need a good disguise they have a nice date to keep you locked out from your personal possessions theyre trying overcharge you they charge you different from what they charge other campers they try to extort money from you early before your time is up I cannot say enough bad things about these people do not go there like to get ripped off if you like your stuff damaged and you like your things come up missing stay at this Campground. Or rather its a scummy trailer park with the Camper RV site attached to the back of it no bueno stay away bad news zero Stars if I could
After driving all day, we were looking for a convenient place to spend the night. We got a recording when we dialed the listed number instructing callers to call the park manager, Adrian. We called, Adrian said that they did have a site available, told us to get off on exit 160 then text him and he would direct us to the park. Within 5 minutes, we reached the exit but there was a 160A and 160B so we didnt know which to take. We pulled over on the interstate, called and texted Adrian several times and he never responded. Needless to say, we did not stay at Safe Haven so I can not fairly review the park itself but I can say that the customer service was non existant.
From what I understand there is a new owner maybe about five years now. I dont know what it looked like before but you can tell they have done some improvement around the place and a pond. Staff is very nice and helpful. We were working in the area and only there for a week. Would stay there again
I am a travel nurse with a 5th wheel and have been here since Jan 4th. I extended at the hospital for a year and never had a thought of leaving the campground. This is a great place and I feel safe here and many wonderful people work here and help quickly when needed. Thanks
The owner of the park is rude and a liar, the manager of the park Adrian is the same way. When you need things done they refuse to do it. I was a long time tenant where the campers were but in a trailer. It is rat infested and roach infested. Campers are full of roaches.

2022-02-28I had never been in the Macon area before & didn’t want to wander too far from I-75, so when this place came up on Google, I reserved 3 nights for convenience to some points of interest I wanted to visit. And it was inexpensive compared to other campgrounds I considered.Safe Haven is a no-frills park, providing full hook up pull-through sites with a huge flat space on the grounds that is perfect for playing fetch with my energetic dog. That’s a bonus I’ve never found at a campground with recreational amenities, like a pool.Everybody I interacted with was cool. There’s a laid back vibe that I appreciated after 10 days of driving. The majority of RVs that you see are people living at this park full time. Everybody I met was very pleasant. The laundry/ bathhouse @ Safe Haven is unique & offers only 1 bathroom (3 piece) per gender, but each bathroom is pretty big with decent walk-in shower - big enough for a parent to deal with showering young kids comfortably. I had no problems using those facilities

2022-05-09This RV Park sponsored a tiny house Festival. My friend and I drove two hours to attend. There were a few very old school buses that were not renovated with modern updates and one extremely tiny house on wheels. Don’t waste your money or time if you consider going in the future.

2022-04-03Pros- Right off the interstate- inexpensive- close to grocery storeCons- the grounds including the public picnic area were littered with trash and old appliances. The front staff lost our reservation of two days. I showed them the receipt and they showed us to our site so I assumed everything was taken care of but then they asked us why we hadn’t left the next day. They weren’t rude or anything and we did end up staying the full two days luckily. Idk what we would’ve done if they were busier. So I just want others to be aware.I think this is an okay stop for a day or two. But I personally was really put off by all the trash/old appliances in the campgrounds and dead animals lying in the road. I wouldn’t use the bathroom.

2022-01-14This is not a luxury resort but doesnt claim to be. It is a safe place. It has a locked gate and very nice camphosts. We tried to use the internet but the download speeds are slow. However, that means that we really felt like getting some rest was a good idea. We had a wonderful night with 12 hours of sleep, which we didnt realize we needed so much. We left by 10 am to continue our trip. If you have no shower facilities in your rig, there is a shower room. There is also a coin laundry. The electric, water, and sewer hookups looked pretty new. Its definitely a great value for a safe place to rest well. In the morning I realized that there was a lot of traffic nearby, but evidently it had no effect on our sleep the night before. Do not let Google take you on a circle tour and end up at the back gate with no place to turn around like it did to us! The camphosts rescued us. Please turn onto the Glendale beside the Bojangles. Look up and to the left a bit. There is a sign but it is hidden by overgrown tree branches. Also when turning left into the park, ignore the private property sign. I thought we were in the wrong place. The second Safe Haven sign is also hidden. Im going to call the camphosts about that. Otherwise, if you need a safe place to sleep, a laundry, and hookups, this will be a great value. If you need to work from your campsite via internet, then you need to find somewhere else because there is too much buffering and dropouts. All in all, this is a literal hidden gem that is right off the interstate but hard to find with Google maps.

2022-02-20Mike and Brandy has been amazing since they been here. I always see them around the park working. I never meet them but one time before this past week. My 78 year old mom was coming up to visit me and i asked them to help her when she got here. They said no problem. And they continue to help me with her while i am at work. They are a great couple for this park.

2022-01-25Stayed one night en route to Florida. No pool or other luxuries, but everything you need: water, electric, sewer, flat pull-thru lots, showers, quiet. $28 with Good Sam, AAA or military. Cheaper than most state parks. The camp hosts are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

2021-12-19We were attending a concert in Macon and stayed a total of 4 nights. Very convenient to downtown Macon. Easy pull through site with full hookup. Dolly and her husband John were very friendly and accommodating. Great place to stay for a short visit or overnight if you need a place to stop on a long trip. If you have time, highly recommend visiting The Big House (Allman Brothers museum), only 4.5 miles away. We will stay there again when in the area.

2022-01-23We booked online through the website. Brandy was quick to text and confirm our reservation. She was super friendly, and communicative, and very helpful when we needed to change our arrival day. We will book here again next time we are in town.
