Nice and friendly staff who were helpful and gracious. Nice campground. Quiet and I backed into a site against the woods. The sites are narrow and I was never able to connect to wifi which is important for an international traveller. The price is half what I paid last night at a site with real high speed internet. That said, it is well priced and there is value if you want quiet with reliable power and good water. I’ll stop here again.
This was a nice find. We were passing through Savannah during St Patrick’s week which, unbeknownst to us, is a popular time so we couldn’t find a site anywhere. They had a site for us.Bathhouses were nice and they had a workout room.I knocked off a star because the WiFi was super touchy.I’d def stay here again though.
I was here for a month and loved it! Close to stores and Savannah, but still out of the way. The road is busy but the campground cant control that- I got used to it. Really friendly staff. The dock is a peaceful place to spend an afternoon and the canals are close by. Thanks for a wonderful time!
We are staying here now and the staff is nothing short of friendly and amazing. The pool is nice and clean. All the other visitors and full timers are kind as well. If you need an uber while here ask the office for Uber Richards number. He lives in the park and is awesome! Great guy who will bend over backwards to help you.
Very nice quiet, old time RV park with boat launch and dock on Ogeechee River backwater with lots of mature trees. Our site was very long but narrow and could use some more gravel.Wi-Fi was very slow ~0.5mbps and intermittentVerizon was 1 bar – intermittent ~1 mbitsGood CATV serviceLaundry was run down with several non-functional machinesPool was closed for renovationWires were exposed on roadI recommend staying in the back toward the river away from the road noise (sites 1-50). Price is right
This is a good rv park near town. Only about 25 min from old Town. I was not too happy that they charge an extra $3 per person per night after 2 people. That can really add up. They do have bathrooms, boat ramp, a playground and a pool (under construction). The sites are easy to back into. We are #1 and had a 32ft bumper pull trailer.
If you get stuck in 5 o’clock traffic, too bad, turn around and go back home or head to the KOA as they will NOT let you check in after 8pm. Which I knew that at the time of the reservation but I assumed they would have your papers by the front door telling you what site to pull into if you arrive after 8pm. That’s the convenience of campgrounds because you can walk into the office the next morning & square up with them and officially check in. Not here! They called me to tell me that they were closing their office 2 hours earlier today (@ 6pm) due to staffing issues but that we could still check in till 8 pm. I said ma’am we were in unexpected traffic and are arriving @ 8:11. Too bad. They said we had the option to stay in their parking lot or cancel the reservation as they were NOT refunding my $50 deposit. They said it’s too disturbing to other guests to unlock the gate after 8 for us to find our spot and it was literally the easiest spot to find and get in that we have ever pulled into. They could be more accommodating and nice but they chose not to be.
We stayed for 5 days at the beginning of May 2022. We came with another couple. Upon check we noticed no chairs at the pool when we inquired we were told the pool had been redone and they were waiting on an inspection! When I called I specifically asked about the pool. Nothing was told to us about the construction or inspection. ( to make it worse it was in the high 80’s low 90’s with terrible humidity that week)We were then guided to our “buddy” sites. There were old poles with old electric outlets and water spicket attached that was no longer in use. There were electric poles behind us that had old wires hanging from it & there was both electric wires & some type of white pvc sticking up from the ground in various areas. The wood walkway dock to the river was in need of dire repair & staining. The playground needed upgrading. This campground has great potential, but is need of great care ,upgrading. They could conduct so many activities with the pavilion in the back by the river. Add a horseshoe pit, a corn hole area, and maybe a large firepit area that campers could sit around . Just ideas. Oh & we were given 3 WiFi sign ons , none of which work to even pull up google weather . So don’t expect ANY.Sadly we won’t be back or recommend it, unless they upgrade it to fit their resort name.
Savannah Oaks is a wonderful rustic park in the woods, yet convenient to visiting the Savannah area. We quickly drove into downtown Savannah and Tybee Island from Savannah Oaks. The sites are spacious, and the beautiful large oaks with the Spanish Moss hanging down provide great shade. A branch of the Ogeechee River runs along the back of the park and there’s a beautiful dock for accessing the river with kayaks or just sitting on. A playground for kids, a dog park for the fur babies a pool (closed when we were there) and a nice convenience store are on site. The laundry room is clean with plenty of machines. The owners do need to start focusing on maintenance and upgrades. It’s not bad now, but seems to be in the deteriorating stage.
We appreciated that there was availability when we called to reserve and found the staff friendly. However we discovered after getting set up on the site that the Wi-Fi was nonexistent and the cable for the rv didn’t work also. After being without water for 4 to 5 hours on Saturday I went to the office to inquire about all of the problems and again, they were friendly but acknowledged that the Wi-Fi and cable needed upgrading. I asked that they should make RV’s aware of the problems before getting all set up to stay. Definitely won’t stay there again.
We spend about 3 weeks at this campground. The campground is nice however if your not placed down by the creek, you get all the road noise. And the noise never stops. The website says the place has WiFi, if youre placed next to the office, then you might get WiFi. I think that is false advertising. Will we stay here again? - probably not.
This campground was a perfect one night stopover for us travelling between central Florida and Augusta. If overnight transients, you are likely to be placed in one of the large pull thrus near the highway. Surprisingly, we didnt even need to unhitch our toad from motorhome until we got to our long concrete pad.Road noise there wasnt a problem for us because we were running the furnace all night and we are deep sleepers anyway. There isnt a lot of traffic overnight but it starts up again in the morning. If you come for long term camping, its advisable to stay in one of the quieter sites down by the river away from the road (bring your kayaks).Staff was helpful, facilities were excellent at our site (109): a long level concrete pull thru pad, 50amp service, water, sewer, cable. About 20-25 minutes from attractions in Savannah. This is a laid back rather than a luxury resort, and therefore reasonably priced considering the location and amenities.A one time glitch was that they were doing some trench digging near the exit road and the dirt pile made the exit path very narrow for large RVs. Some drivers decided to take the long way back around thru the park rather than try to thread the exit road needle. We spoke directly to the excavator operator and he moved some dirt so we could get thru.Overall, this is a good pit stop for us on the way to & from Florida, and riverside sites are a good base camp for relaxing on the Ogeechee River or exploring the Savannah area.
Just ok. Road noise at times.40 ft of sewer hose to hook up.No real wifi.DOG WASH NEEDS A THOROUGH CLEAN NICE ADDITION. BUT LIKE A LOT OF PLACES PEOPLE JUST ABUSE THE EXTRAS . I ASKED EARLY THIS MORNING TO GET IT CLEANED ITS NOW 4 PM. NOT DONE.DONT BELIVE THE PICTURES.EASY IN AND OUT CLOSE TO WALMART AND TRACTOR SUPPLY.R AND K SOCAL
Left us with no where to stay because they dont accept trailers that are not commercially made.It most certainly is meant for people as we have been living out of it at several other sites over the last few weeks and numerous other times all over the country. You did not even ask to see inside.
We stayed here for 10 days. Quiet setting. Sites at back side of campground close to playground and canal very quiet since away from busy highway noise. Staff polite and accommodating. Would have given 5 stars but facilities are very run down. Showers and bathrooms kept clean. But fitness area and laundry old and needs renovation. Pool was clean but they closed it. We never got to use it even though it was still very hot in October.
Inexpensive campground with dog park, playground and other facilities under 30 mins from historic Savannah. We stayed at 62 which is at the end close to the highway. If you stay close to the highway the road noise is definitely noticeable. If you camp further towards the back it would be quieter. Sites for the most part are nice, and we had no issues with electric or water. The two main reasons I would not give a full five stars are road noise (which obviously is not the campgrounds fault but something to consider when booking your site) and cleanliness. Most of the sites were cleaned but they must have long term rentals staying that do not take care of their sites and it makes certain areas of the campground look dirty. Overall, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer good Sam discount and military and other discounts as well. We would definitely stay here again and wish we could have stayed longer.
Such a cute campground! Gorgeous bathrooms and lovely Fishing pier on the river… although we were by the road we slept so very well and the dogs loved their walks… our lot was level and since we were overnighting only there was no need to disconnect our TOAD… will be our new hoping spot for sure… thanks!
We stayed here for a week, while making our way further south. Its about a half hour drive from down town Savannah and Tybee Island. The staff are pleasant though I did not have much interaction with them, nor did I have any issues. The pull through sites are long and very accommodating for long rigs pulling longer trailers, though those sites seem tight ( zero space between you and your neighbor) but because the sites are so long you get staggered so its not like you are staring at eachother. The grounds are clean, but could use some improvements. Some buildings are either falling apart or being put back together, I am not sure. There is a good size dog park and kids playground. The workout room is not fancy by any means, but I found it adequate to workout in and get my workouts in. Walking around, the campground is good size and pretty, ignore the campers that havent seen a hose in a while and take in the large trees and Spanish moss. I enjoyed walking my dogs by the river, I still think it was a swamp, though the water did flow and rise and drop. I am bummed I did not get to see ant alligators.
We had reserved time with this RV park and the couple we were traveling with had an AFIB episode and we had the cancel due to him no being able to drive. They do not REFUND any of your deposit WHATSOEVER! Make sure you are able to get to this resort before you book with them. They give you ONE TIME CREDIT good for one year to use your deposit. If you aren’t able to make it back there you lose your deposit. WILL NOT BE USING THIS RESORT FOR ANY OF OUR TRAVELS! I would suggest you really think about whether you want to reserve a spot if you think for any reason you can’t make your reservations.
The Campground was beautiful and set right along a bayou. They have lots of FHU sites and can accommodate big rigs (ours is 43). They have a nicely fenced dog run area and a newer playground that is very big.The best part is the boat ramp area going into the bayou. They have a floating dock with a bench to fish on and a fish clean out sink. The nightlife is loud here but very calming with sounds of the bayou echoing all around me. Didnt see any alligator but we did catch an alligator gar fish on camera - its a prehistoric fish that has teeth 😱.They have used sand to fill in some of the campsites. While auto-leveling our rig we discovered that it wasnt as compacted as assumed and almost lost our 5th wheel as the jacks began to sink unbalanced into the sand. Thankfully we were able to get the truck back underneath quickly and get set back up correctly.
Pros: Met our needs. Beautiful setting in the trees. 15 miles to Savannah. Good water pressure. Good wifi. Level spot. G8 site was HUGE. Quiet. Old Town Trolley for touring Savannah will come pick you up and drop you off. Good spot for fishing, kayak launch. Lots of shady area. A small playground. Plenty of room at bottom of hill for a big rig. The pool looked clean but I did not use it.Cons: Dilapidated buildings. 4 sections for bathroom/shower combo, newly renovated in the one I saw, other 3 doors were locked. . Laundry room a bit nasty. 2 washers out of order; one partially filled with moldy water and cobwebs. Dryer doors wouldn’t close. Looks like some seasonal sections but many open sites for overnight. There is work that needs doing here. Three star rating because of the broken down nature of some things. That said, all of our needs were met while visiting Savannah area but we will not stay again.
Good place for overnight stay. Staff was very friendly and brought us to our site. All concrete slab with picnic table. Close to highway, quiet. They have coded security gate in and out. Pool, play area for kids and gated dog area. There are a LOT of Oak trees also lots of bugs, my dog got attacked by something big LOL. If you are looking for shade theres tons. 3.5 starts
This RV park is everything it is advertised to be. It was a bit muddy due to heavy rains but all the facilities worked well and the staff were very friendly and courteous. Jeremy was particularly helpful this morning when we couldnt get our stabilizer retracted. We will definitely return.
Authentic Southern charm. If you enjoy camping amongst live oaks with Spanish moss this is the place for you. Much better than the newer campground down the street that had acres of cement slabs and no trees. Bathrooms were newly updated with grey tiles and handicap height toilets. Any issues were responded to promptly. Friendly staff. Nice playground for the kids.
We’re disappointed with our 2 days stay. Our buddy sites was assigned wrong; too close to the next site. Dog park filled with dog feces piles; dog bags decanters were empty which dog owners, large dog owners, feces not picked up. Exposed electrical wires, bad wifi and no internet connection.Unsure of the quality of the water. Very unkept and will not be back.
G6, Very disappointed. Total neglect & lack of maintenance. Reported defective shower head. Still waiting for repairs. Toilet not flushing. Bathroom doors will not lock. No handicap access in bathrooms. Arrived on Thursday, garbage bins overflowing. Wires laying on ground. Large potholes throughout. Have not seen any staff members since arriving. Hopefully owners will contact me before I leave.
Just checked in, sites are vary large. I’m in spot 67 and it awesome spot huge yard for the kids to play! I did notice spots 57-62 looked tight but the rest of the park has huge spots. The huge trees with Spanish moss hanging on them is beautiful! Has a nice fishing pier and boat lunch for kayaking. Staff seems friendly with a well stocked store. WiFi is weak but the cell service is good so not worried about it... all in all no frills campground but nice little place to stay while doing stuff in Savannah!
Nice campground with beautiful full grown shade trees and plenty of Spanish moss. Nice playground for the kids, with a fenced in area for dogs and fishing pond with a nice dock. Bathhouses could use some updating and better maintenance, but did the job. Trolley stops at the campground for a Savannah tour.
If youre by the road prepare yourself for the loud noises all day and all night from the traffic (horns in the middle of the night that wake you up, etc). There is also a cemetary across the street so we watched a funeral happen. Feels weird for us to have our breakfast and see people mourn by accident. BUT the worst part is that when we checked in, I wished they wouldve warned us about the tree cutting that was going to happen RIGHT ON OUR SITE AND ABOVE OUR SITE. Not only was it loud and disrupted our work meetings but TONS OF BRANCHES FELL ON TO OUR RV AND HAD WORKERS ALL OVER OUR SITE. Had they told us that this was happening I wouldve asked for a different site because its pretty empty here in terms of people. We just wished they had told us because this is a nightmare.Besides the loud road, cemetery and damage to our RV, it was ok. I HIGHLY suggest requesting a site away from the road....Oh and laundry is quarter based but no coin machine so you need that ahead of time.
This place is a dump. Long term residents that do not maintain their sites. We were without water on 2 different occasions. All washing machines were out of order with the exception of one. Bathhouse was too creepy to even shower. This might have been a nice park at 1 time but it is no longer such.
Savannah Oaks is located near I95, which makes it convenient for us while travelling. They have a pool to relax in on warm days ( Georgia can get warm). Sites have electric and water and the bathhouses are clean and well maintained. They also give a Good Sam discount, which is a plus!
I would consider this a last resort camp ground. Sites are close and uneven. We had to move our rig several times to be able to open our slides and awning due to tree and water post. Lots of small tree branches and piles of moss and leaves lying around and stopped in dog poop several times. The whole campground is just unkempt. Old rotting picnic table, cables lying exposed . Campground right along a noisy busy road. Left 2 days early. The old saying you get what you pay for is certainly true here. Sorry for the bad review but if I were the owner I would consider sticking some money in this place because there is an immaculate camp ground up the road that is going to take a lot of your business if you let them. Good luck.
Staff was very understanding and worked with us when our towing vehicle broke down. Spaces were very nice. Plenty of walking areas for us and the dogs. Bath house and laundry were top notch. Will definitely stay here again.Cheaper rates than Creek Fire just down the street and definitely more tree shade.
Beautiful RV Park that could be much better if they did some basic upkeep and improvements. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Close enough to Savannah for the trolley to stop. Would make this my go to when in Savannah only if they spent some equity in improvements.
The park has its charms - beautiful trees everywhere and a bayou at the end of the property… and it is a reasonable distance to Savannah old town etc. They were an 11th hour Hail Mary for us after Hilton Head RV messed up our anniversary plans rather royally, and at least admitted as much. So we were grateful to get in somewhere on 4th of July weekend. The long and short of it is it’s not on par with say a KOA that admittedly we’re more used to. Bathrooms could be better (luckily we had our own), and unfortunately we were placed right on the fence line of a busy road (big rigs etc), and to compound matters next to the overflowing dumpsters…. Had the park been full, and given our predicament we’d have understood… But there were clearly better spots open…. Which we appreciate could have been no shows.
This place is OK for a day or two but would not want to be here for a week. Pull through sites in the middle of the campground face each other and are very narrow. So, if you are camping with another couple, great, but if not, your front door is facing a strangers front door and you might even have to share a picnic table. Also, there may not be enough room to open your canopy. No room for pop-up canopy and no fire pits or grills. This particular spot had 2 tables, but not all did.
The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. The best the Wi-Fi ever got was spotty. Had to go to the local Target to get work done and called multiple times during the week for them to reset the router which would help for a bit. The site was awful - tiny and with two fire anthills. They did move us after a few days, but kept putting one nighters right next to us instead of spacing out the campsites (the park was maybe 30% full at the time). Overall it was a relief to move on.
We got here on Friday night and we set up a tent by our camper. The lady that took us to our lot had told us that we had paid for 2 lots and it was a mistake. our tent was on the same lot as our camper, but since we had a tent she would not refund us for one of the lots. she told us “i didn’t see anything” as she left. the next morning another lady had told us no tents. she was very rude while she was speaking to us and we told her that another lady from the night before had told us the tent could stay. after we took our tent down we asked for a refund for the second lot that we were not going to be using. she tried telling us that there were no refunds even though we were told last night that we could get a refund. i would not recommend staying here.
Not a bad resort, but theres much room for improvement. Theres a beautiful pool thats to open at 10. We went at 11:30 with kids ready to hop in, but they had just put chemicals in. There was no sign, no warning, and no one let us know. It was wonderful once it was finally open.Theres a great playground thats half built. Nobody seems to be working on it, though. Theres a laundry room but its not cooled, and the machines look rough, rusty and old. Wifi is free but very spotty. We asked to extend our stay, but were told there was no availability. Surprising, given there are many vacant sites. So we are going to the new campground next door. This is a pretty campground, with lots of beautiful shade making trees, beautiful pool, and very quiet other than traffic noise from the nearby highway. But theres definitely room for improvement.
The laundry is really large and was easy to use with a washing line out back but a few of the machines were out of order. The showers and toilets were clean but not air conditioned. The camp sites were large enough but a bit uneven. The gym was clean and had a few machines and air conditioning. There’s a great pool and the park is dog friendly with a fenced off grass area for dogs next to the playground. The RV park as a whole is beautiful with lots of big trees, would stay there again.
I wouldn’t call this a resort, but it’s a nice enough campground.Spots are close together & not many paved spots. Most spots are either gravel or sandy gravel.Staff is friendly! Gas station on site.About 22 mins from downtown Savannah. No extra plugs...the only plug on the site is the 30 amp plug, so if you typically use a plug on the post for lights, etc. you can’t here. Our spot is extremely close to the road, maybe 30 yards. So...we hear every single car that goes by.Not a ton of grassy spots for pups to potty. There is a dog area that’s fenced in, but it is currently mostly under water.Would stay here again, but definitely wouldn’t call it a “resort”.
Great little campground to park a few days and visit the surrounding areas. Flat, nice sites and well layed out. Gorgeous area at end of campground to walk out on the pier and look at the wildlife. My children especially loved the playground while my dogs played happily beside them in the dog park. An employee personally showed us to our campsite upon arrival and made sure we knew where all hook ups were. I will definitely be back anytime we travel through Savannah again.
Nice Campground with level pull through sites. I didnt have to do anything special to level my RV as the site was perfect. They have independent bathrooms so each bathroom has a toilet and a shower. Shower was nice and hot with an excellent water pressure!! Bathrooms are clean. They have laundry facilities here but I didnt use them. They also have a doggy wash station which was really nice feature. . Campground has absolutely gorgeous big beautiful oak trees with the Spanish moss hanging down, very picturesque. Campground is about 50 minutes from Tybee Island Beach, where you have to pay $3 an hour for parking anywhere on the island. Tybee Island looks very similar to places you would find in Florida. The only drawback here is the noise from the street, route 204, very loud and Ive stayed a lot of campgrounds, and this is the loudest for street noise.
We saw some negative reviews but very happy that we ignored them. We stayed four days and loved it. The shower rooms also had sinks and toilets. They were very spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We had a nice shady spot and it was only a short distance from Savannah. The had a trolley that picked you up and dropped you off downtown and brought you back. Loved our stay there.
More of a 3+ stars RV Park. We stayed for 4 nights while visiting Savannah. The park is VERY old. Our utilities were quite worn. The power had no housing, just a plus on a stick. The sewer leaked as I was dumping my hose. Not very nice. The park has concrete pads on some sites (ours did) but just enough to park your RV. Our motorhome barely fit. The trees are low so be careful driving to your site. The main reason we gave it 3+ stars was its proximity to Savannah and the price. Getting to Savannah was easy. There is also a Walmart down the road. For the area, the price was reasonable.
The place offers the convenience of being close enough to access Savannah in about 30 minute ride and Tybee Island in around 40 minutes. Its very dog friendly, nearly everyone here has a dog or two with them. Theres walking paths along with a small fenced dog park and even a dog wash station. The bathrooms are spacious enough for someone in a wheelchair but though they are air conditioned theyre still hot and muggy and theres no benches to put your stuff while you shower plus we only saw one shower with a handicap seat. Wheel chair accessibility is not as easy as they say due to the fact that much of the place is gravel. Their is the convenience of being able to hook up to the sewage on site but the sites are small on top of eachother. Early in the week it wasnt that bad since most spaces were empty but by friday evening it became more of a trailer park with lots of RVs jammed in. There are many lovely live oaks with spanish moss galore and a small area with access to the river. We did like the convenience of a laundry room but the layout of the camp is odd in some areas. Most of the road in the campgrounds is one way and if your on the far side you have to drive out the exit gate and re-enter in order to drive over to the dog park, playground or river access and if your disabled as I am youll want to take the drive vs the walk or wheelchair. All in all its a decent enough place with friendly staff. If your like myself and prefer plenty of space between sites then this may not be your first choice unless like us youve shopped by price and convenience to the surrounding area.
My hubby has been staying here as a monthly rental. They keep the park clean as well as the bath houses. Laundry is also available if needed. Theres a pool and workout room close to the office as well as gas station. Location isnt too bad either...bout a mile off I-95 and within a reasonable time to downtown Savannah. I love the trees with all the Spanish moss surrounding the entire park. Really gives you the feel of camping. I could take up to them every morning!
Great RV resort! Plenty of shade unlike others where our ACs had to run non-stop, great water pressure, clean bath houses, very friendly staff that goes out of there way to help, great boat ramp and dock to fish off of, very safe environment so much that Ive been leaving my Yeti out every time we leaving the camp site. Thanks guys for a wonderful camping experience! Denny
We stopped thru on our way to Vermont for an overnight. The host, Raquel, was extremely helpful and friendly. The campground was pretty well kept up and had a lot of campers, so they are doing most things right, it seems. We got a pull thru because of our tow. We had a restful night and had easy access back to I-95 in the morning. We will stay here again!
Enjoyed a nice 2-day stay. No issues, quiet surroundings, pet-friendly...had a fenced-in place for dogs to play. Beautiful live-oak trees covered in Spanish moss. Exercise room and pool. Didnt use it, but nice to know its there for when we visit again. About a 10-15 mile drive to downtown Savannah. Overall, enjoyable stay.
Very nice. Newly renovated bathroom and showers. Nice convince store on site with tourist info, tram tickets to tour Savannah. Even an ice cream shop. Lots are available with electric water and sewer even a fantastic cable TV available. Staff are always available and super friendly. I am definitely planning on staying here again. We stayed for a week and it didnt break the bank either.
Live Oaks and Spanish Moss: We enjoyed staying at this campground amongst the tall Live Oaks adorned with Spanish Moss. The staff were helpful with local information and even escorted us to our site and helped us pull through. The bathrooms were newly renovated and there was a large laundry. The park is 30 minutes from Savannah but there’s nothing of much quality any closer to the historic district. The kids really enjoyed the playground which was centrally located.
We evacuated NC because of hurricane florence. The staff here made us feel at home and even discounted our stay due to the evacuation. Laundry facilities were very adequate. The shade from all the live oaks was a blessing. We would camp here again. Once again, the staff here are great!
We were here for two weeks and it worked out great. Saw pretty much everything we could within a 90 mile radius.Terrell was especially helpful and friendly. Led us to our site, helped us find a service person for an issue we had when we arrived. Very nice and clean pool. (With this heat should be open later than 8 PM. ) Ice cream in the store was generous and delicious. Nice shady spots with pretty Spanish moss. Only negative..the internet was unreliable. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
A pretty place nicely located close to Savannah. Sites are small. Campground is old and doesnt seem well kept up. We stayed here twice, once for 4 nights and again for one night. Staff was helpful and friendly. Except for the dumpiness, this campground has everything you need for a visit to Savannah. Dog run is nice size. There is also a convenience store (not well stocked) and gasoline on site.
The staff was friendly and offered to escort you to your site. The sites are a bit narrow but easily fit multiple giant hulking land yachts each carrying the apparently standard issue small yappy dog.Regardless of all the dogs by sundown it was quiet and had a very friendly atmosphere, each camp offering smiles and time oriented pleasantries. If you have an option get a site in the 30s these are closer to the water and much more intimate. The bathrooms were recently renovated, very clean and inviting.
We stayed here for our halfway point on our drive to and from Disney World. Each time through we stayed one night. The campground is very conveniently located near the interstate. The staff both times were very pleasant. The pool is awesome and was a welcomed break for our four kids. The campground itself is a little run down but its a campground, not a hotel. My only complaint would be there isnt an after hours number to call if you need something. While the office is open late in the evening, they dont open until 10 a.m. so an after hours number would be nice. I definitely can say that we will stay here again.
Were quite pleased with our stay here. Very friendly staff with escort to our site. It is a little cozy, but not too bad and our neighbors were very pleasant. Comfortably quiet at night despite being on a single lane highway. They would have earned a fifth star but their WiFi was very poor.
Beware if you do not have a traditional RV. Stayed here 1 night in June of 2018. Had reservations, and was pre-paid, it was an overnight stop on the way home after a very long days drive. Went to check in and was told that we could not stay with a home made trailer. It is in fact a converted car hauler with windows, w/e/s and only a year old at the time. It looked nicer than some of the units in the park! After some conversation and explaining that there was nothing on their site or the Good Sam book stating this restriction, that it was late and we had no other place to go, they decided we could stay for the 1 night only, we did. Note, as of today still do not see any restriction on camper/rv type in their very detailed list of rules.
This is a rustic campground. It is located in a nice shaded area that is adjacent to a wetlands area. They have a boat ramp. The sites were fairly level, but just dirt plots really. It is about on par with other campgrounds in the area, not measurably better or worse. Price is high for the value received.
Lovely campground. It sits on the Ogeechee River and there’s a small dock. It’s a convenient campground to visit Savanah, about 20 miles from downtown. The bathrooms are very clean private rooms with toilet, shower, and sink and is fully tiled. Only issue with the bathrooms is there is no air conditioning and the tile gets slippery. Lots of trees and shade, level spots. We would visit again.
My husband, his niece, her husband, his mom, & I stayed here for a couple of days when we had to evacuate because of hurricane Irma. We were in their RV pulling a boat plus had a car. The people were very kind helpful and courteous. They took us right to a perfect spot where the boat could stay hooked up to RV with room for the slide outs and parking for the car. It was clean had plenty of trash cans baths had own toilets. We all look forward to going back with no storms pending! Great place for vacation
I would not recommend this campground. I made reservations along with a friend. We were supposed to be side by side since we were camping together. So right off the bat- they messed up our reservations. We were still close enough but not what was reserved. Then when we pulled in the sites were so tight that your awning touched the neighbors slide out. The sight was full of sand. Soft sand. No gravel, no grass, no concrete. (Site 90) now other sites did have some grass or a small pad. However there was no grass, gravel or concrete to enjoy your days or evenings on. So we were full of dirt the whole weekend. Then and this is not the campgrounds fault but 2 cars had burglaries, and they got away with about $1500 dollars, and they came back a second night. So security is an issue. The smell of sewage was overwhelming especially at the shower/laundry area as well by the campers because everyone was so close.I would like to compliment the staff as they all were nice and tried to accommodate as much as possible
A very nice physical setting, but getting old. They were upgrading the plumbing when we stayed there which is sorely needed. I hope they remove the old plumbing after they put in the new. As far as I could tell, all the electrical needs to be updated also. The 50 amp boxes appear to be fairly new (by comparison), but the 30 amps were uncovered and had no circuit breaker. The upper shower building is quite run down, and to keep the shower running a person has to keep pushing a button on the wall. The lower shower has a modern faucet that allows a nice hot shower. However, the entrances to both shower facilities are uncovered which contributes to mud being tracked in to the shower/restroom/sink facilities making them appear dirtier and less attractive than they might otherwise be.The laundry room had bout 8 washers, and at least 3 of them were out of order. Not good. The pool looked pretty nice, although we didnt get a chance to use it.The price, even with the Good Sam discount, was $39.60/night for a 30 amp with water, sewer, and cable. Considering the overall appearance and condition of the park, it seemed a bit over-priced to me.The wifi was better than many where weve stayed. The speed and capacity were sufficient to stream NefFlix. The dock area down on the river was actually pretty well done. To bad the river was so dirty. When we return to the Savannah area well probably stay at Savannah Oaks again because its convenient to family. Otherwise, Id be Googling other campsites.
I nice enough place to spend a day or two while visiting Savannah. Shady with beautiful old oaks with Spanish moss. Pull through sites were long, but very narrow. The park could use some TLC. Just an example, the horseshoes area was all rocks and full of weeds. If the owners put some work into the appearance, it would much better.
Beautiful spot. Our site is a level paved pad with lots of shade and trees. A bit rustic in terms of activities and amenities but expected given the size of the facility and low nightly rate. No problems with cable. Havent tried the WiFi. Staff is very friendly. Easy commute to the city. Glad we didnt listen to the negative reviews.
Park was ok. Way to much sand and leaves all over...constantly sweeping out RV. Conveniently located off of the interstate. Convenient store & gas station on property a plus. Girls working there werent too friendly and seemed at a loss answering simple questions like... will my uber driver be able to come to our lot to pick us up? Not much to do there too far from Savannah.
We wanted to extend our trip in savannah but our campsite was fully booked. My friend recommended savannah oaks and they were able to get us in for half the cost of our first booking!! Even though they were at max booking too, it didnt feel crowded, and it was never loud. We will be back!!
Don’t make reservations here!!!! We booked ahead, and then received a phone call less than 48 hours before arriving, telling us that they couldn’t accommodate us after all, and that they would refund our money. Evidently, the river level is up, and some campsites are not usable. Would have been nice of them to inform us of that possibility. Instead, we now have less than 48 hours to find alternative location, and everything is booked. Stay away from here!!!!
The owners and workers are so extremely rude. I do believe the only reason the place is still in business is because it is in a good location. If you’re Looking for a monthly stay look somewhere else they do not care about the people that stay there monthly. First night we got there someone was parked in our spot. Instead of changing our spots so we didn’t have to move again they put us in a temp spot. Then water from the river started to rise they told us it was high tide and there was nothing to worry about, that sounded fishy to me so we moved our low to the ground the car to the front of the RV park. When I woke up the next day our camping spot was completely underwater they didn’t come to try to move us to warn us or nothing. When we tried to get them to move us to a front spot they drug their feet and we had to threaten a call to the BBB. We moved to the front of the RV park (which is more on a hill) they called us two days later to tell us to move back to our original flooded spot and the water was still over the road. My husband does not like to argue so he moved back to the flooded spot the health department came and told us to move spots again because it was unsafe. We moved again and the next day the park called and told us to move out. This is after paying for a month the only gave us a portion of the money back and this was only day four of the month this was so annoying bc we have had to move just within their park so many times and they had no remorse or could care less how much they inconvenienced us. I had a package coming the Rv park that was already ordered before we had to leave I just called bc amazon left me a message saying they dropped the package off two days ago, the lady tells me they sent the package back which was a lie bc amazon would have put this in their notes. Spend your money somewhere else!!!
Well kept RV park close to Savannah. Staff are wonderful Georgia friendly. Melissa, Penny, and April were great. Lots of trees with Spanish moss throughout the RV park. Clean bathrooms Good Laundry with a couple video games and even a pool table. As well as a swimming pool And a convenient store to buy small items if you are out. will return if Im in Savannah again.
More like -10!!! Dont walk... RUN!!! This place is terrible, unsafe, rude, and across from a cemetery. We called on the road and made a reservation. We arrived and found our campsite. Another camper (we were on top of almost due to the sites size) was smoking it was getting into our RV. Plus there was sand everywhere. You can tell a lot of people live in the park. There are broken down campers and RVs all over. They charged me $94 for 2 nights. We made the circle back to office and explained all of the issues. She would not refund any of our money. We were at our site less than 10 min. She basically said, its our policy. Sorry! She was rude about it and did nothing. It was a terrible experience. Do not do business with them. I called to disputed the charge on my credit card and will report to the BBB. Id stay in a Walmart parking lot before staying here. Beware!!!
We enjoyed everything about this campground. Sprinkled with live oak trees and spanish moss give it the southern charm feel. Bathrooms updated and very clean and comfortable. TV room adjacent to workout room. Separate laundry and game building. Convenience store carried needed last minute items. Only complaint is attitude gotten from staffworker in store when we asked if TV room could stay open past 9pm to watch the last NCAA game... We get it, you dont care about sports but at least you couldve been nice about telling us no.
Very nice staff. They were very attentive. They helped back us in. Site was nice, wooded, clean. Only electric and water at our site but they told us that up front and it was the last open site, last minute, 4th of July weekend. We were grateful for that. We’d go there again.
Never coming back. The kids in the office are nice and helpful, the bathhouse is ok. but the sites are so close together you could reach out the door and shake hands with your neighbor. The pads are pull thru, which is nice but our picnic table is literally hanging from the scant little incline we have, so its basically unusable. Nowhere to put chairs. No fire rings. They sold us a fire wood bundle on the way in, the next day we tried to rent a ring, its $50, but free with three bundles, so my husband pulls out the receipt for the one bought less than 12 hours ago and says , Ill just buy 2 more....nope. Jerks.. Never again.
Was a nice little campground but needs some upgrades like paved interior roads and concrete padioes which would be a real challenge in the pull throughs because of the way they are laid out. Other than that it is a fairly nice campground but is far from being a resort.
The park looked good but I didn’t have the chance to experience it. I made a reservation and I think someone made a mistake, maybe it was me or maybe it was them never the less I arrived on April 27 for 4 days but the reservation was in the book for May 1 for 4 days. The park had no room, it is understanding, I tried to get a refund for someone mistake maybe mine or them we will never find out. As far I’m concerned I think they need more money then me, so the can shove it where you know what! I’m a full timer traveling all over USA and Canada and never encounter such a BS. So they can enjoy my refund and get some good advertising from me . Blablabla!
The concrete pad is *very* narrow, we have a class c and barely got on it. The electrical didnt work, the Wi-Fi isnt working and when we called for help with the electric, the lady who came down gave us attitude, treated us like weve never done this before (We have and explained we tried what she had already suggested) before she got it working. They cant move us at all nor will they refund us any portion since we cannot use any of the services beyond electric, of the expensive site they put us in.The only upsides is it is pretty, the bathrooms are new and nice and the cable works just fine.$44/night not including taxes.
Overall the RV park is nice and quiet. Hopefully in the future they will upgrade the pull through sites from gravel to concrete. One of the bath house shower drains was slow. Luckily there were drains in the wall around the corner under the sink and toilet so the excess water could go out that way
Pros: super nice and capable check in staffSome nice treesElectric, water and sewageGatedCons: park is fenced with wood so you cant see what you are getting in to before you check in.Very small spaces, campers practly on top of each other.Very outdated bath house and laundry buildings. Look like not well cared forRiver access minimalNot a good vibe for meI can only recommend this place for overnight hookups. Needs lots of tlc.
Owner was very rude went up there on a Tuesday to look at a lot to rent and found one paid the deposit sign the agreement showed pictures of my camper let Them know that it Was a 2010 heartland north country 34 foot camper and everything thing was good she said that I could bring it and set up the next day which was on a wed when I get there after Packing all my belongings up she starts telling me that my camper is not in the best of shape and I cant put it in her rev park she said that it has a dent in it and it did have a small dent in the front but not very noticeable She did all this without even looking in my camper or looking around my camper So after I already told the other place and gave notice that I was leaving some one else rented that spot so I had no where to take my camper I was stuck until I could find another place my camper is in very good shape on in side and out
Although the site was easy to pull through and hook up, the complete canopy of great oaks covered with moss made sunlight non-existent. Dirt roads and sites made for constant cleaning, and the ground was carpeted with leaves. Access to markets, restaurants, and downtown Savannah was decent. Good water pressure, 26 cable TV channels, but marginal wi-fi. Neighbors warming up their diesel pickups for several minutes at 5 AM each morning was very annoying. Didnt rain while we were there, but suspect it would be very wet and muddy at each site when it does.
Park is well shaded and only 10 miles from the happening city of Savannah GA. Dog run area and plenty of space to walk. The bathhouses are nice (7ish out of 10). Also a pool and childrens play land. Theres a river in the back of the resort for fishing and canoe or kayaking. You can rent those or buy fishing gear at their convenience store. There is also a gas station attached to them, which makes fill up easy! I like their set up. This is my 6th RV park this trip. We went for convenience to the city since we dont have a car. Only a 30 RV. There is free parking at the Savannah Visitor Center. Owners are nice and guide you to your spot as well. We stayed in 42.
40 Motorhome towing. Park is decent, not especially appealing sites. Sites are fairly rough, roads are passable but not great. Looks better on internet than it really is. Our site was un-shaded and very hot. There are some nice shady sites, go for one of those if summer. Has a nice little convenience store and gas station. Pool was okay, no shaded umbrellas or covers. We could recommend this park as Okay, but would point out the ruggedness.
They do not have signs warning of gators in the swamp nearby. Its an RV park - a beautiful RV park with travellers from all over. Theres a swamp that has gators! Best to watch out. That aside its a nice park to stay in. Close to Savanna as well. Tour bus comes and picks you up for tours of Savanna Georgia.
I really liked this place. Was very shady. Clean. Staff was very nice. There was a major maintenance issue that they were on and had fixed in 2 days without any disruption. There is road noise at one end of the CG. It only needs a bit of TLC (small bench or rack in shower for shampoo etc) and just little things like that and this place would get a solid 5.
Bugs were terrible here. Couldnt sit outside for more than a few seconds without being eaten alive. Yes, we used bug spray, we used candles, we used everything. Maybe thats just how Georgia is in the summer. Also, the comfort station was not so comforting, one of the filthiest Ive seen.
I am an old school camper. When I was a kid I camped in a tent with my Dad on the river all the time every summer. My wife and I just bought a pop up camper and had a great time down there . I dont understand how a camp site can get bad reviews. ITS CALLED CAMPING FOR A REASON.People dont understand what ruffing it means anymore. This is the only campsite I found near Savannah with access to the river. I keep reading reviews to find the best spot and then I realize the best spot is what you make of it.
Unlike the other reviews, I found the staff friendly, courteous. The site was clean, green, bathroom clean. The shower was a fight to keep the water coming. For some reason, you had to push a button and it went off 20 seconds later. Had to keep pushing for my entire shower. (annoying). I dont know if the other 3 showers were the same way, hope not.
Over priced for what it is. We asked when we checked in how much it would cost if our 2 adult kids stayed with us and were told it was 6 bucks. When they stayed one night it in fact was $6 for each of them. Bad fire ant problem that they said they would come back and treat and no one did. Electrical issues at our site that kept popping our breaker due to low voltage.
Try it, Call and ask for a monthly rate and tell them your RV, Fifth Wheel, or Camper is at least eleven years old! Some of you still owe more for your RVs than they are worth but to them, they are worthless and your not welcome! I think they should wake up and smell the next camp grounds coffee! Personally, I think they suck!
Rude Customer service! They never answer the phone and when they do they are rude! The young guy working there will rush you off the phone. Not to mention non refundable deposit?! Really! Who does a NON REFUNDABLE deposit when you cancel your reservations a week in advanced. They must be hurting for business.

2022-06-25Awesome price. Plenty of oak trees, shady and very quiet. There is a muddy river at the back of the cam for you do some recreational fishing. Beware of the gators. Easy access to freeways and less than 20 miles to Savannah. Shower stalls are clean, water pressure is strong. All sides have concrete pad with full hookups. Staff of friendly and customer oriented. Definitely will stay there again.

2022-02-26Arrived to friendly staff, however we were disappointed to find the pool under construction. I had mentioned our interest in using the pool when booking and the construction wasn’t mentioned. FHU sites by the road are very close together so prepare for the noise of your neighbors and the road traffic. Playground was nice for our daughter. This location may make a great stopover location, but I wouldn’t choose this location for long term stays. Proximity to Savannah and other local attractions is convenient.

2022-05-25Nice campground if youre stopping for the night or planning on seeing the sights in and around Savannah. The bathrooms were large and updated, private with showers. Beautiful wooded setting and level lots. Our lot however was very sandy, impossible to keep from tracking a mess into the camper. I would have preferred gravel, pavement or grass. This campground is conveniently located 2 miles from 95. The campground was very quiet, but there is a lot of traffic noise from the road beside it

2022-06-08Beautiful campground with the most gorgeous oaks dripping in Spanish moss. The bathhouses are very clean and roomy. I cant say enough good things about the amazing staff and our fellow campers. We cant wait to come back!!

2022-03-29Nice place to stop in Savannah, they have a shuttle pick up for Old Town trolley tour of Savannah. Large spaces and easy in and out. Another bonus is they have propane for RV’s on sight, all the staff were friendly and nice. Only con would be a little noisy from road traffic but not a deal breaker. Over all good place to stay

2022-05-11We recently stayed at Savannah Oaks for 9 days the end of April. Pros: Lovely trees throughout and close vicinity to Savannah. Cons: Although this park is truly a diamond in the rough, it needs a LOT of attention. I did NOT use the restrooms or showers, but noticed many had signs on the door not working. We stayed in the overflow area which puts 3 campers VERY close, but it was FHU which was great. Even close to office WiFi could be iffy. I used their laundry facilities with no complaints. The pool was not open. Unless your site was in the back towards the river, road noise will be constant. I would stay here again for a very short duration and NOT in the overflow area. A little cleaning and freshening up of this park would go a very long way to make this an awesome park.

2022-02-22Campground is good price and well located. Trolley to historic Savannah will do a pick up and drop off at the campground. It is not a stop. Campground was clean. Like the private bath house w/shower. nice trail within walking distance at the Savannah Ogeechee Canal and also the Georgia Civil War Trail. Campsites are very close together and not private. if you have a dog that does not like other dogs or people this may be a problem. also fire rings are for rent but if you buy 3 packs of fire wood it is free. Would stay here again but not with my dogs.

2022-05-19After having a reservation for several weeks, we were turned away at check-in due to a “factory only” RV policy. We have a well done RV conversion and had to scramble to find a place last minute despite having already paid for a reservation here. While I understand that this might be their policy, there is no mention of this on their website nor did we receive any communication prior to our reservation that gave us any check-in details or any indication that we would not be able to stay. Could not recommend this to anyone.

2022-03-30While this place may be beautiful, it is not accommodating. I called and reserved a one night stay. I was told at the time of reserving that or would be non refundable. I can understand not refunding as it is a business. I called 3 days ahead of our reservation to inquire about my new problem. Due to not being able to pick up our RV rental until late afternoon we would need to arrive late. I explained that I would need be coming in about 8:30 instead of 8:00. I was told that I would not be able to enter past 8:00 at all. So due to their policy and inflexibility I would not be able to stay as planned. So unless you are sure without a doubt that you can arrive we’ll before their 8:00pm close time, don’t stay here you will lose your money and have no where to stay. I do not recommend this place.

2022-03-20We stayed here for several days. Its a nice place. Office people were nice. BUT they need to take better care of their bath houses. 7 total bathrooms with showers and 3 were closed off the whole time we were there. 1 had no soap, floors always wet. No bath mats, no outside light after dark. So you need a flashlight. Or please fix.
