Make this the first thing you do in Savannah. Its a great way to learn an overview of the city. The best part was my tour guide, Austin. Hes an incredible storyteller - balancing history with humor, insight with wonder. He also shared the full story about Savannah - the brutality of slavery and discrimination that is part of Savannahs story.Getting to see Savannah on a bike gets you into parts of the city that a bus or trolley wont. Save that for another day. Do the bike tour.Austin made sure our group was safe, and just was someone youd want to hang out with. Also, cute as hell. Highly recommend Savannah on Wheels and doing a bike tour.
The team helped me out with a tricky bike lock Id purchased from them today, and they handled the whole situation really kindly. I left the store feeling happy and with a new, user-friendly bike lock. I cant remember the last time I had such a pleasant experience bringing in a return/exchange. I really appreciate how warm and knowledgeable the staff is here, definitely recommend.
I rented a beautiful beach cruiser from Savannah on Wheels and couldnt be more pleased with the bike and the excellent customer service. I have rented bikes many times in other cities but I can honestly attest to the QUALITY of their bikes! They are in excellent shape and very well maintained. I can wholeheartedly recommend this busines to anyone visiting the area!
Had a fun and very interesting tour of Savannah with Austin this weekend. He provided lots of informative and entertaining stories about the city and its landmarks - this guy really knows his stuff ! we learned a lot and had a great time. The cycling was easy the bikes were new and very comfortable – would definitely do again and recommend to others
My wife and I rented 3 bikes for our family for 4 days.Everything went very smoothly. The bikes were perfect for the task of getting around Savannah. Everything was in great repair, and they had all the accessories such as helmets, baskets, locks, lights, and bags. It is exactly what you need. They got us in and out quickly.
Rented bikes this past weekend for my best friends bachelorette party and it was better than expected!! They decorated the brides bike beautifully for her and it was very special for her! Riding the bikes around the city for the day was one of the best choices of our trip! Will do this again next time I visit Savannah! 10/10!!
Mathew, our tour guide, gave us a wonderful, insightful tour of Savannah. My sister and I have experienced both trolly tour companies and a walking tour of the city. While all of them are worthwhile, the sedate pace at which we toured, the frequent stops and the myriad insights our guide shared made this a unique experience. I believe the guides knowledge of the area allowed him to tailor the information to our interests. We highly recommend the tour.
I rented a road bike for three days from SOW. I called ahead to make sure they had a bike in my size, and they did! I asked about specific routes to ride and was directed to download an app called Komoot, which has tons of routes that other people have uploaded. The two routes I found over 20 miles we’re on busy roads, so I rode one of them and it was fine. The next day on my ride I got a flat tire ☹️ but had the repair kit from the shop to change it and continued my ride. I stopped by the shop later and they gave me a replacement spare tube, just in case 😀I highly recommend Savannah on Wheels for anyone looking for a rental bike!
Lovely casual bike tour through the streets of Savannah! Our guide, Ben, was so nice and informative and passionate about the history of Savannah. The bikes are in great shape. I loved my bike! It even matched my outfit :-) smooth ride through a beautiful city. What more can you want?
A wonderful and informative tour and rental. My wife and I took the tour a few days into our trip. We wished we would have done it earlier. A bike is definitely the best way to travel in Savannah. The bike tour took us around the downtown area and gave us some great tips about museum tours and routes to the river. We went with the rental option so after the tour we were able to return to some of the sights and check out some house tours. Great service and a great experience. Highly recommend.
I am on a long distance bike tour. I came in on short notice for what I thought was a loose spoke. The mechanic (Tim) looked at the wheel and explained that it was damaged beyond repair by an accident I had a few days earlier. He clearly explained what was wrong and what my options were. I agreed to replacing the wheel. Unfortunately, I have an uncommon size wheel and they didnt have a replacement in stock. Tim went above and beyond to help me get a replacement wheel and get back on the road. Exceptional service beyond all expectations.
Second time renting bikes from this company, and it was absolutely perfect again! The service is impeccable and the employees are so nice. The process for booking in advance is so easy, and the bike quality is fantastic! This recent trip was for my friend’s bachelorette weekend, and they reserved a beautiful bike with a cute bridal sign and flowers for her to use- very thoughtful and memorable. I highly recommend using this shop for all your bike needs, especially bike rentals.
We arrive without reservation, I recommend do it in advance, it was a great experience. From the price, the accessories the bikes have, not pricey at all. Bikes in great shape and flawless ride. We were able to get to more places on bike that you could imagine and definitely get to know Savannah better on a bike. They even have options for picnic!!!!We recommend this local business 100%. Awesome experience🔥🔥💪🏻💪🏻
Nicole at Savannah On Wheels took great care of us. I rented a bike for two days and the store provided everything I needed: maps, headlight, lock, etc. My bike worked well with no issues. I had a great time zig zagging through all the amazing architecture and riding on the paved trail that goes by Lake Meyer. I will defintely rent from them again.
I rented a road bike and did a ride to Tybee Island and back. I was impressed they had a bike that fit me since it was short notice and I’m a taller rider. Both of the folks working in the shop were friendly and helpful getting me setup. I’d definitely rent here again.
I have a recumbent bike that we use to run one of our fur babies. It needed new tires, a break check... I chose this shop because of all the great reviews. Great experience, friendly, professional, and ethical. Thanks for getting my pup back on the road and having fun.
We had a great time on our tour with EJ! It was a great way to see the city of Savannah, and EJ gave us great suggestions of things to do based on our tour! I would recommend this excursion to anyone coming for a visit. Thank you EJ and Savannah on Wheels tours for a great time!
We got lucky with the weather and it being a Wednesday morning it was not a packed tour.We ended up getting a private tour with Melissa who is also the owner. It was a really really great experience. We had spent a bit of time walking around Savannah but doing the bike tour was a completely different experience.Melissa was really easy going and the information she shared was not overwhelming. Melissa took us to many areas in the Historic District that we had not found through our research before the trip. Anyone visiting Savannah should definitely check out Savannah on Wheels.
We took advantage of the bike tour. The tour guide (Austin) was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Everyone in the shop getting the riders set up was sweet and helpful. This is probably the best and most fun way to see the city. Austin made navigating through traffic easy and hassle-free. Thanks again!
I highly recommend this place as this was the highlight of our trip! I booked to rent just two non-motorized bikes through their website. They also let us try tandem bikes with motor just because we could not decide what would suit us more. They were so patient! They also provide locks and maps, and helmets to rent if you want. It was such a good idea to ride around beautiful town of Savannah in the middle of the day, allowing us to see beautiful homes and parks.
My girlfriend and I went into this shop at just after 5pm hoping to rent a bike for a couple days. Guy was rude about every question we asked. Were looking to rent a bike!, Well were closing soon were almost done (closes at 6pm). Do you have the tandem e-bike available?, No. Do you have any e-bikes available?, No. Okay I guess well just go then. Alright **we walk outside, then seconds later he slams the door shut behind us.Worst customer service weve experienced in Georgia. Most people are very nice and polite here. I was surprised to deal with such a bitter man after reading so many positive reviews about this shop before going there.Response to owner response below:My name is Tyler Ferguson, Im a Canadian travelling with my girlfriend. You should review your hours on Google, and on your own website, because it clearly states you are open until 6PM on Fridays. It also states that walk-ins are welcome. And I would assume if that was not the case it could have been politely explained in person. Like many businesses around Savannah, when we arrived the door was open, probably because as you said in your own words you were busy moving bikes in, but even if it wasnt, and you wanted it closed after we left, you could have done so without slamming it, or you could have politely asked us to close it, or even better yet you could install a door closer so you dont have to take offence to every customer who forgets to close the door behind them.I cant help but think the person who wrote the response to my initial review was in fact the same person I dealt with there. I can tell you do care about your businesss reputation with your response, but telling me that I was the rude one when I was simply there trying to give you my business is not the right way to go about that.Yes, i can agree with you that the majority of the customer reviews of your store are quite positive, therefore, I can only guess that whoever we dealt with today mustve been having a bad day. Regardless of whatever so-called rental policies and apparent closing times are, basic in-person communication goes a long way.
Great people here, came to Savannah from out of town to visit a friend and we went and picked up a new bike from them. Had a bit of buyers remorse and ended up panicking and asking them to compromise and work things out getting me a different bike. The couple who runs the shop are down to earth and understood me very well. Definitely a place to check out to rent bikes if your just in town for the week and definitely a place to pick up your new wheels! Prices are fair and responsible and the bike selection is perfect for Savannah!
The experience of picking up our Tandem Bike was great. They provided a brief overview of the bike and made sure it fit us. They also gave us a map of the area that was easy to follow and allowed us to see every park in downtown Savannah. I would highly recommend trying this out on your next visit!
The bikes were super comfortable and great for cruising around Savannah. The shop also gave us a map and recommended a route to see all the key sites in Savannah which was fantastic. Great price to rent a bike for 4 hours and it was the perfect thing to do for an afternoon. Super glad we found this place!
Keith was so great and informative! He did a great job making sure everyone was together and safe while riding around the city. He was very warm and welcoming and answered everyones questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. The bikes were nice and easy to ride. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Savannah!
Had a very good experience with Savannah on Wheels. We visited Savannah this past August and decided to rent a couple of bikes for a full day, which cost about $30 each. It was absolutely worth it as the bikes worked perfectly and were comfortable, and allowed us to move around the city fast while enjoying the view. It was especially nice to bike in the hot August weather. We even biked to the Bonaventure Cemetery and back, which I highly recommend. Overall it was one of the best things we did in Savannah!
Just bought a bike after renting for a week with my family. This shop was great! The bike I bought was perfect for my needs and the owners took the time to explain all the different types of bikes for sale and the advantages of the bike I purchased. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. They were also the easiest to talk to of all the shops I visited. Thanks Savannah On Wheels.
WONDERFUL company. They were patient with our family getting us setup properly and comfortable to hit the road. We followed the route they recommended and it was perfect. We also had a flat tire about 15 minutes after leaving and they came immediately to assist and get us back on the road. Highly recommend Savannah on Wheels.
Amazing experience that made my trip to Savannah so awesome! We did a private tour followed by a charcuterie and champagne picnic in the park for my bachelorette! The tour was wonderful and such a fun activity to help us see more of Savannah and learn a little of the history as we went! Our tour guide took us to the cutest spots where we got so many photos and also pointed out all the best places to eat and drink as we went on our tour! The picnic after was amazing! It was the perfect start to the most amazing bachelorette party in Savannah! This tour would be perfect for any size group or any type of trip you’re taking and there’s add on activities, such as the picnic in the park, that Melissa can coordinate for you, tailored to what you like. Melissa and her husband made this tour all that it was and we’re so happy we found them!
My roommate and I been going to this place for couple years for tire repairs and such for our bikes. Today went in to have two tires changed and I said absolutely no rush didn’t even need today can pick up tomorrow. First off no welcome, how are you, nothing. Then the owner when I approached seemed to bothered by it then pawned me off to another guy who had the same inconvenienced vibe to have to take care of this. So they really should take their Service sign off and say only kind to tourist for rentals and tours and screw you locals who come all year long. We miss the old friendly staff and owners that liked helping people and mostly just liked what they where doing. It’s o.k. We found another local bike company that cares and said this isn’t the first time they have heard this about this place.
Update: we had such a good time a few years back, we decided to stop while traveling through Savannah on a recent trip. It was a great break for the kiddos after a long car ride. They were very helpful pointing out some kid and dog friendly spots we should visit this time around. The owner was super dog friendly! So much fun!!!!!!!!I know nothing about electric bikes and they made it so easy and fun! The owners are great!!!The only way to see Savannah!
My friends and I rented a few bikes during our recent trip to Savannah from Savannah on Wheels. Great experience. Super friendly and helpful staff who made our first bike renting experience easy and enjoyable. Great way to see this beautiful city!!! I’d for sure recommend anyone looking to sight see Savannah by bike to stop in this place!!! Well done 👍
I love Savannah on Wheels. They are my go to shop for replacement parts and advice on bike repairs.Im a local, and when my friends visit I like to rent them bikes so we can ride around town. Ive rented bikes from Savannah on Wheels multiple times and they always offer reasonable prices, excellent service, and tips on where to ride.
If you want a bike in Savannah, and you should because its a great way to see the city, you should rent through this business. I got our bikes and took care of all of the paperwork online, it was super easy. We needed a tandem and a bike with a trailer to accommodate our family and we were very happy with the equipment, the service, and the overall experience. The business is right next to Forsyth park, so you start off next to great landmark. One of the owners gave us a map and showed us spots that we should hit and avoid. The kids loved it. While the trolley tours are fun, we enjoyed biking and controlling where we went and how long we stayed. This is a great business!
AWESOME BIKE RENTAL SHOP!! Super friendly employees, excellent customer service, great quality bikes and they do a fantastic job explaining how to ride around this beautiful city! I will definitely come back here each time I visit Savannah. This bike shop is part of what makes Savannah so charming, quaint and warm!!
Great place!! We rented 2 bikes and it started pouring rain on us 10 minutes later. We tried to wait out the storm but it would not stop pouring. The lady was more than happy to give us a complete refund for both bikes. The only reason I give 4 stars rather than 5 is because the male workers there seemed super grumpy. He just gave off this unhappy vibe. We didn’t have to deal with him very much but it was very noticeable. Like I said the lady was super nice and helpful and explained all of the rules to us. Thank you so much Savannah on wheels! We will be back (hopefully on a sunny day)! :)
My husband and I rented some bikes from this shop to keep them for the entire day (good decision since parking there can be hectic). Both the bikes and staff were AWESOME! The guy who helped us was super nice, he gave us a map with a highlighted path to follow, which was really helpful. He also provided safety tips and some info as to where and not to ride. We usually rent bikes almost everywhere we go to for vacation, and trust me this bike shop was by far the friendliest and most helpful weve ever been to. Highly recommended!
We recently rented folding bikes from Savannah On Wheels and had a wonderful time touring the city. The staff was super accommodating, friendly and quickly got us into all our needed gear (locks, helmets and lights for night riding). They also gave us the ins and outs of the rules for biking in the city. They not only had great service, but after comparing price points, they were less expensive than most other shops we researched. We will defiantly use them again on future trips. Thanks David and team for a wonderful experience.
Highly recommend for getting around Savannah if youre here for less than a week. We rented bikes from this store before we left town, and we should have done it sooner. Great bikes, great customer service, price is right, and the owners are friendly and accommodating. 5 stars.
We have had a wonderful experience biking through Savannah, excellent easy ride to get to know the city. Large range of bicycles for every taste. Since it was our first time in the city, we got accurate directions and useful advices where to go for all our needs, thank you guys for your great services and attention. This was one of the best things we did during our stay. The drop-off and pick up service is really convenient.
My Husband & I rented electric bikes one Sat in Sept 2015. It was absolutely the most fun I had while in Savannah. It was neat to cruise around the sites and enjoy without having to walk. The office is conveniently located, the staff was very helpful, and we were out on our bikes ready to zip around in less than 15 minutes!!! We got a half day (4 hour) rental and that was plenty. The bikes were easy to use and a breeze to lock up while we toured different sites. Highly Recommended! !!!
My boyfriend and I only had a short amount of time to explore Savannah and exploring by bikes was by far the best option. The owner is very nice and down to earth. The customer service was amazing. He was willing to pick us up or drop us off after the bikes were turned in. He also gave us a map and reccomendations of where to go and routes to take. The bikes were great quality and we had no issues.
My husband and I rented electric bikes the weekend of 9/15/15 and loved them! We were able to make it to all of the landmarks we wanted to see in about 3 hours! I loved the peddle assist and think it would be very easy for almost anyone to learn. For being able to get around the entire city in about 4 hours, the price point was perfect! The team at Savannah on Wheels was also very helpful and accommodating. We got a late start, but they allowed us to return the bikes after the shop closed (even though we made it back in time). I would highly recommend and plan on renting from them the next time were in Savannah!
I cant imagine better service from a bike rental shop. First off, the lady helping us was super nice. All of the bikes she showed us look brand new. There were bikes for all types of riders. We chose what she recommended and they were perfect for our styles-intermediate riders. Locks, helmets, bags, and baskets were all included in the reasonable price. She also sat down with us and highlighted a route on a map that we should take- including some sights we should look out for. This was a lifesaver. We literally toured the entire historic downtown in about 6 hours (including stops for meals, ice cream, random photo ops, etc) and we didnt feel like we missed anything. I cant overstate how vital that map was to our experience of downtown. If we ever head back to Savannah, we will be coming back here.BTW, first time touring a city on a bike, and I must say, its the best way to explore. Compared to walking, its still great exercise, the wind keeps you much cooler, easy on your joints/feet, and you can check out so much more.
Absolutely wonderful experience. This was our first time in Savannah and renting an electric bikes. The employees showed us step by step how everything works. My girlfriend and I would recommend Savannah on Wheels to any one looking to buy or rent a bike in Savannah. .
Highly recommend it here for bike rentals. It was our first time in Savannah and so we didnt really know where to ride. The lovely couple who own the place gave us maps with ideas on where to go and even dropped us to a nearby plantation for a small fee. The bikes were comfortable with plenty of padding (so no sore butts the next day!) We plan to go back for another bike ride in the next week and will definitely be renting from here :)
I had such a good experience with Savannah On Wheels from start to finish. They are conveniently located with easy parking in a great place to start a tour of the historic district of Savannah. In my opinion this is the best way to enjoy and appreciate all the beautiful houses, fountains and squares. I especially appreciated being given a map and being shown a suggested route that maximized all the highlights and I followed it exactly including a great suggestion for a lunch spot. Great customer service and bikes in excellent condition at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!!
This establishment was very helpful. We went to a bike shop that was out of bikes so we googled Savannah On Wheels. They have been open for a month but they have such an awesome selection and were so helpful! Very informative on what we could and couldnt do, and they all were very kind. David truly cares about his customers and I really recommend coming here. They are just starting out but they have already done wonders with their business and they are all phenomenal. If we are ever in Savannah again, we are definitely going back there again! Best of luck, Savannah On Wheels.
We rented 3 bikes for 2 days and had no complaints or problems with the bikes. They were in excellent condition and rode very smoothly. Savannah is a very bikeable and bike-friendly town, and we had a fantastic time. The reason for my less-than-5-star review is that this is a town with plenty of places to rent a bike, known for its Southern hospitality. The guy who rented us the bikes was nothing if not apathetic. We had to practically convince him to let us rent the bikes. The one who was there when we returned them was half a step from surly. I understand that its difficult to be friendly when youre having a bad day (benefit of the doubt being offered here), but you are in a customer service industry, and people have choices.
Bike was good, but instead of being able to return bike first thing in the morning when running late, they wanted it returned to their unlocked van.Had the bike saturday 10am-8pm, yet Melissa charged me for more than just the fee for both a saturday and Sunday rental and was snarky in the phone
My boyfriend and I rented two bikes for a day. When we arrived, our bikes were ready for us and the owner showed us some places on the map to visit. I asked if they sold sunscreen -they don’t- but she gave me a small sunscreen to have.About an hour or less in to the bike ride my boyfriend and I realized we were too nervous to ride since you have to ride on the road with traffic. We quickly made our way back to return the bikes. The owners, without hesitation and without us even asking gave us a full refund. Above and beyond service and extremely kind.
I highly recommend Savannah on Wheels. When we stayed in Savannah for the weekend, they were extremely helpful in providing us bikes to explore the parks and wildlife refuges near the area. The man and woman were both extremely helpful, and were very patient as we asked questions about their large stock of bikes. Next time we visit Savannah, well be sure to stop in again! The experience in their store was the best example of southern hospitality we encountered. :)
Tandem biking. This will test your entire coupleship 😂The owners are great! Very helpful with where the safest routes are, and the views were great. We rented 4 hours and that was enough for us, but we are not cyclists. So if you love to ride and want a full day to stop, eat and drink - more hours are better. We will be back! M & M
I highly recommend Savannah On Wheels to anybody who wants to ride awesome bikes around a really cool town. The gentlemen that helped me and my family went out of his way to make sure we got everything we needed and great local advice. Best time Ive had on a bike since I was a kid!
Savannah On Wheels was very kind and patient with our large group of riders, setting aside some extra time for pick-up and return since there were so many of us. The bikes were in excellent condition and they offered a variety of options for all of the different kinds of terrain around Savannah. I highly recommend this shop for Ingress agents on a mission or for just general tourism.
Owner David and his wife were very courteous and flexible when they booked and organized our tour of awesome Savannah. Both owners displayed excellent customer service from beginning to end. I would definitely use their bike services again. He also pointed out some great places to eat around the neighborhood.
This was by far the most fun thing we did in Savannah! It was definitely worth the few dollars extra we paid to get the E-bikes vs traditional city bikes. We rented them all day and were able to see a lot of the city, then parked them while we ate and walked on River Road. Then we picked them back up and headed out. The battery lasted all day. We probably rode about 10 or so miles. The couple who owned the shop were very friendly and even delivered our bikes at no additional charge. Highly recommend! Will be back in the future.
This place is amazing! We rented the electric bikes and it was a blast. We were able to ride around the entire historic district and see everything in just a few hours and the electric bikes made it so simple to get around. The owners were very nice and extremely helpful! We also did the trolley tour but taking a bike around Savannah is so much better!
David and his wife were great folks to do business with. My wife and I were seeking a place where we could rent a couple of bicycles for a day and Savannah On Wheels was a perfect fit. We opted for the electric bicycles for something different to try and they were an absolute blast. It was an amazing way to get around historical downtown Savannah and see everything in a single day. It was so much easier than trying to get around the narrow streets in a car or on a scooter. We could stop when we wanted to take a longer look at something and we werent blocking traffic or in anybodys way. During our time on the bikes, we noted the places we wanted to return to on foot where we could spend additional time. This allowed us to spend time with the placed we found most interesting to us and not miss anything else Savannah had to offer.
After calling everywhere else in town, took my bike here for a repair based on their phone manner and customer service I experienced from the first minute on the phone. I explained my problem (broken de-railer) and the nice lady checked with the mechanic who said bring it right in, ive got something and I can make it work.Long story short, I dropped my bike off, got a used de-railer installed along with a new shifting handle and cable all in the same day and it was ready for pick up only a couple hours later.Their mechanic really did a fantastic job and I was very impressed with the same day turn and customer service.I will highly recommend this shop to all my friends, and planning on future purchases from them as well.
We used Savannah on Wheels during our weekend stay in this precious city. Best prices in town. We rented the bikes for 4 hours....they gave us a map and highlighted all the places we should see. 4 hours was more than enough time to explore. They gave us a bike lock so we could stop and eat, shop, etc. Highly recommended!!!!!
Every time I come here I get the best help and it’s quick and saves my life every time. The two dudes in the store are always on point and I’m in here all the time. My bike either gets flats or I don’t have the tools to fix something and they get on it for the best prices ever too.
I came from out of state and was able to line up my bike rentals ahead of time. They had brand new folding Dahon bikes that were really nice along with a good selection of other types of bikes. The service was excellent and we have no complaints. We kept our bikes in our hotel room for 3 days. Make sure to follow the rules in Savannah when riding. There are numerous bike baths. We planned to take them with us to Tybee island or Hilton Head, but ran out of time.We would rent again from Savannah On Wheels.
Fantastic customer service experience. The owners were super flexible, gave us bikes in great condition, and worked around our schedule. They even let us park our car in their business-designated parking spot. Highly recommend going to this bike rental shop if you visit Savannah.
A+Great deal on the rental, quality bikes available, friendly and helpful!Rented some bikes over the weekend and had an excellent experience. The owner was super helpful in making sure we were properly informed about the city and the rules. He ensured we had lights, locks and baskets for the journey. Highly recommended.
Savannah on wheels was a great experience, they even delivered the bikes to the hotel. Riding around savannah was perfect, so easy and relaxing. I liked my bike (electric premium one) so much I ended up buying one from them online....overall a great experience. Recommended.
I called SoW to see if they could obtain a few parts I needed for my Dahon bicycle. They told me to email them some photos and they would see what they could do. Two days later, I receive an email that the parts are on the way from the manufacturer under warranty.I didnt buy the bike from these guys as I am not from the area, but based on this amazing service to someone traveling, I think it is safe to recommend them for sales and service. Thanks SoW!
Donnie is an extraordinarily knowledgeable guide, proud of his Savannah heritage and all that goes with it. Mike is the owner, friendly, accommodating, reasonsble. Good inventory of bikes, with new e-bikes coming in. I used their services 2-24-2020, and this is the tour Ivwoujd recommend for all.
The owners of savannah on wheels and the employees they have are wonderful. Everyone is super nice. They were sooo busy and worked with everyone to get them out in a timely manner and make sure everyone was comfortable and the bicycles were adjusted to them personally. As well as having repairs in the process (the mechanic was soooo sweet). It was wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful time :)
I live in Atlanta and due to the space limitation in my car Ive been looking on purchasing a folding bike so I can continue working out. I call the store last night and spoke to David. Wow he was so attentive and gave me so much information about the bikes and by asking the right questions he was able to help me chose a bike that is good for me. This is what customer service is all about. Looking for the needs of your customer and helping them make the right decision depending on the needs of your customer. Im definitely purchasing my bike at Savanna On Wheels. Thank you David for taking the time explaining the different bikes options and listening to my questions.
Thank you so much guys for your service! We spent last week on Savannah (our first time visiting) and we wanted to visit the city in a different way, doing something new, fun and the concierge from our hotel recommended us this activity, so we called them and they were On time, the ride next to the Savannah river was amazing experience so next day we called them back and rent it again!Guys if you go to this city, you must do this! The experience, customer service and the people are GREAT!
Just took the tour with Dalton. It was tremendous. He explained an incredible amount of history and shared stories. There were five of us and the pace was just right. Most of the discussion was while stopped, but even when Dalton was speaking while riding, we could hear him clearly. Dalton is very personable and is happy to spend as much time as you like at each stop. I highly recommend the Savannah on Wheels bicycle tour.
This is the way to bike tour. Dave picked us up at our hotel and made sure we were all correctly fitted for our bikes and led our tour. It was fantastic! It was just our family of 3 so it was very intimate.Service is great, Dave and his wife are very friendly and knowledgeable. He even dropped us at a local pizza place afterwarf!
Such a smooth process renting bikes, especially coming from our challenging environment where we live - such sweet people, we needed to change our reservation due to circumstances and our conversation was all about how did our bike ride go today - so nice! Thank you so much for your hospitality, Mike and Melissa, you rock!
I arrived later in the day . A couple hours before closing . The shop is in a great location . Right next to Forsyth Park .The staff was helpful and very friendly . Since I only had a couple hours to ride around beautiful Forsyth park . I was given a discount . ( Nice ) But a couple of hours . Was all the time I needed . Yo enjoy my time at the park . Definitely will be back. To rent bikes again .
This place was great we had a 6 person party and I called ahead to see if they had plenty of bikes. When I told the guy 6 people he told me he could give us the 6th bike for free. When we got there two (a man and woman) greeted us and showed us the selection. My friend and I showed interest in the electric bikes and they gave us a few bucks off to upgrade to them. (Best money ever spent) although my buddies bike went dead 3/4 the way through the tour. No worries. They were great easy to deal with, they split up payments multiple different ways and gave us any discounts they could. The bike shop closed at 6 but we didnt get the bikes until 230 so they told us it would be OK to be late just have them back by 7ish. Now thats service. Highly recommend this place.
I thank the owner for their response. Here are some issues respectfully:The bike has been kept indoors since the first visit and rode in the rain once on a trail, I don’t know why the chain was so rusted.I asked for a complete look over and it’s not my fault you all didn’t check the deraileur, after doing a chain and shifting job.The tech told me the reason my back tire was out of alignment was due to the spokes being broken, due to the deraileur being loose and launching into the spokes breaking one.You say I “dropped” the bike therefore the deraileur was bent??? The deraileur launched into the spokes while riding, do you all not believe it could’ve been bent due to that? The only advice I can give is attention to detail, stop blaming customers for the lack of the techs attention to detail. This all would’ve been a non issue if they’d check the bolt mounting the deraileur.
This place is awesome. Neighborly staff so informative and friendly. Great bike selection, street bikes, cruisers, electric even tamdum! The best way to see Savannahs historic district begins next to Forsyth park at Savannah on Wheels. Thanks again Dave, you will see us again on our next visit.
Called in and Mike answered. He was very courteous and helping. Brought my bike in for service, got it back same day. I paid 80 for something another store quoted me over 200 dollars for. I plan to spread their name to anyone and everyone. Will return anytime i need them
Awesome shop, friendly, in from out of town and just needed to use an allen wrench to tighten the bars on the bike from our Airbnb house. She came out an even helped, if local this would be the shop I used. Airbnb owners, if you have bikes bring them by for tune-ups to keep them safe for your guess.
I went there to rent a tandem bike. Unfortunately, the man in charge was rude, abrasive and sexist, telling me that I couldnt ride the bike because it was too heavy and it would be too hard for me to handle. He wouldnt even let me try it. Needless to say, I didnt need this kind of appalling treatment, so I went to another place, rented a bike and was treated with respect. I wouldnt recommend this place to anybody!
I came in here, completely new to the bike community and very timid about which bike to get, but Ellie and David were so incredibly helpful that my worries melted away! They were kind and opened to any questions I had about my bike and gear, leaving me feeling confident in my purchase! Couldnt ask for a better team, thank you!
I think we paid $42 for a 4 hour half day to rent a single bicycle. The bicycles were brand new hybrid bikes and had a zippered bag for carrying wallet, phone etc. The owner is named Dave, he said was a tax accountant cpa for 15+ years but liked bicycles so much he opened a bicycle rental shop. Real nice guy and everything on the bicycle was in working order. Have a blessed day
Quick service for pick up and return. Would highly recommend as a way to see the city at your own pace. They include a tour map with suggested paths that really made the most out of seeing the historic district along with great tips on where to stop and walk instead of ride. 10/10 wold do again!
My husband and I bought 2 folding bikes 3 months ago, mine was in the store so I got it the same day and paid for my husbands that had to be ordered and sent to their store to be put together, my bike works great, my husbands right from the beginningade all kinds of noise, we brought it back 2 times and they adjusted the spokes on the wheels and kept getting rudder every time we had to bring it back, after the 2nd time they said that the way we transported the bike bent something to do with the chain, well we are older folks and really take care of ALL our bikes, so this being said the chain has come off the bike once now, and it wont shift gears, we will have to pay someone to put this bike together correctly now, and they really dont take any responsibility to a bike that they obviously did not put together correctly to begin with,,, very bad customer service, the owner basically told me that we bought the low end bike, so I guess 450.00 dollars per bike means you dont really deserve a bike that works.....sad for Savannah to have businesses treat the people who live here so badly..,
We stayed in Savannah for few days and decided to rent electric bikes to commute around the city. We loved riding them! they are super fun and really easy to ride! The people at Savannah On Wheels were absolutely helpful and super friendly, great in customer service. The best part was we didnt need to go back to the store to return the bikes because they picked up the bikes at our hotel! Yay! Time saving! I recommend their bikes 100%. It s the easiest and most efficient way to tour the city.

2022-05-08Im so glad a friend recommended taking a historic bike tour from Savannah On Wheels when we visited Savannah for the first time! It was the favorite part of our trip! Our guide, Austin, was so great - very knowledgeable & a great story teller! He also gave us many recommendations for great places to eat & other things to see when we were there! I will definitely recommend Savannah On Wheels to others! And, I hope to take another tour myself one day! :)

2022-04-03Best. Tour. In. Savannah. Seriously! You’re out exploring the city but by bike so you can see more and not worry about your feet killing you by the end of the day. I can’t say enough great things about my experience. We did this for my bachelorette which was our BEST idea. Got to take in the city, learn it’s history, and scope out the areas we’d want to check out a little further. Not to mention how special they made us feel with a sign welcoming us. Melissa was AMAZING. She’s so knowledgeable and funny but also able to wrangle 12 of us safely through the city while also making sure we took advantage of every photo op. This was a great activity for the group. Make sure you add this to your itinerary!

2022-06-20Savannah On Wheels is a great bike shop. Everyone in the shop was very helpful and accommodating. They did repairs on a used bike I purchased for my son quickly and for a good price. We also rented bikes from the shop and were very happy with their quality. Last - Id highly recommend the bike tour of Savannah. Our guide Austin was amazing. Very knowledgeable and tons of good recommendations for places to go and things to do in the city. Thanks to Mike and all at Savannah On Wheels!

2022-06-28This is the best way to see Savannah! The guide took her time, stopped and made sure the group was safe and enjoying themselves. I feel we learned more in this trip then if we had done hours of research prior to our trip. (which we did not). The tips and pointers for local run unique businesses were great as well, we stopped at several after the tour. I would recommend renting the bikes after the tour, as there is so much to explore and it is so hard to do so in a car in Savannah. We did our tour with my 71 year old mother and she thoroughly enjoyed it as well.

2022-04-07Savannah on Wheels! A great business. A friend and I rented bikes for the day. The staff gave us a map with a route highlighted and we rode by every Savannah square. The bikes were in great shape. Wonderful experience. I highly recommend seeing Savannah by bike, we saw everything, a beautiful city.

2021-12-27This was everyones favorite part of our trip to Savannah. We scheduled a private tour for our family because our group of 8 included my 78 year old mother-in-law on an e-bike as well as our 9 year old twins. So I wasnt too sure if we could actually pull it off. We did!The ride was very easy and flat with lots of stops. So everyone was able to keep pace just fine. Our guide, Austin, did a great job keeping our kids entertained with great stories and teaching us all about the history of Savannah!Thank you for a great time.

2021-12-02We had SO much fun on the bicycle tour of downtown Savannah with our guide Austin. You can really connect with Savannah gliding peacefully in your little group through the squares. I would DEF recommend the Savannah On Wheels tour to anyone.

2022-03-16We were in Savannah for a couple days and had issues with our bikes. We took our bikes there and they were extremely helpful. They did not have our odd size of bike tire for our E-bike but called numerous other stores. We picked up the tire from another place and Savannah on Wheels had us back riding before the end of the day. Helpful, professional, and very reasonably priced.

2022-04-22Great experience renting bikes when I had friends visiting from out of town. Bikes are high end, and everyone felt really comfortable with the fit/size of the bike provided. They were so kind to provide a great map, locks, helmets, baskets - everything we needed for the perfect day! This is a great way to see DT Savannah, and I had such a great time, that I ended up buying one from them!

2021-11-27Two of us rented e-bikes for the day, including a morning tour with a small group (I think there were 8 altogether.) Our guide was sweet, safe, and knowledgeable. He spoke quite a lot about Savannah history as we took brief breaks near squares and monuments. The tour lasted about 2 hours and we explored mostly all of the historic district! Great experience! After the tour ended back at the shop, we picked up a lock and headed out on our own. We rode for miles and miles up and down all the streets with ease.I am so glad we rented from this place. All of the employees are very kind and helpful. As for the bikes, they were comfortable and had baskets/bags for personal belongings. Cushioned seats & hand brakes may not seem like much to ask for, but I have noticed that other rental shops in the area do not have these features. And the pedal assist was well-worth the upgrade.HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Renting e-bikes for the day is the best way to explore all there is to see in Savannah.
