Who had their monthly rent skyrocket like mine did? I was paying $148/month until April 2021 (1 year ago). It shot up to $224 (51%) from August 2021 to this April 2022 when it shot up another 33% to $300+. Never received a notification that I can see/find. In effect in less than one year, it more than doubled (103%): $148 to $300 = +$152! I have been a customer for more than 8 years. I had 2 Units at one point or another. Highway robbery you say? I think that this business is almost completely immune to inflation (brick and mortar) so no real reason to increase prices this way. Demand & Supply? well OK - but don’t rob us blind! We’re your bread & butter.I’m out of there… how about you?
Darrell was super helpful when I had to suddenly change my move in date to same day, he made sure I got my gate code and info asap highly highly recommend working with him if you rent from this extra space

The staff in the office were very helpful and took me on a tour around the facility. The process for getting a storage unit was quick and easy. I wish more storage facilities were like this one.

Cleaned out my locker today, but I almost hate to leave. These folks have been so nice and helpful more than a few times. I love the electronic Bluetooth gate opener and the electronic Bluetooth locker door opener. As long as I remember my login I am good to go through gate and door. And I log in before I leave home so theres never a problem. Mark Smith has been one of the guys that has helped me several times including today. I cant believe what an easy check out it was. all I had to do was leave the locker door open and Mark did the rest . No must no fuss.

DO NOT RENT A STORAGE UNIT FROM HERE! Let me start off on a good note about the staff though. The store manager is AWESOME and if you want to move out, he allows you to do so with 24 hours advance notice if it is for a valid reason, like mine:insanely priced units from when I moved in. He also allows you, say in my case, to come in on a Saturday morning and be out by when the gates close Sunday night. He didn’t try to haggle me into staying or make me feel stupid or throw an attitude when I explained why I wanted to leave. NOW! Here is why I left. I went from $80 something in April 2019 to just shy of $200 in October 2021. They give you less than 30 days notice of the increase by the time they send out the little post card and it gets to you in the mail. If it doesn’t get lost in the mail. For many people, this does not give them time to move out. The facility has done some amazing upgrades, but they did them without notifying customers it would affect their rent so much. I compared their prices to other facilities, yes that were comparable, within the area, to include other Extra Space Storages, and this particular one is absolutely ridiculous.
The crew at Extra Space storage was always so helpful and available. On our move out, there was a Mark Smith who was so nice in helping us figure out how to close out the account while we were crazy busy finishing up a move. I would definitely use Extra Space Storage again.

The associate, Tracey at the N Berkley Lake facility was very helpful and friendly. She made an effort above and beyond to explain all details of the rental process. The experience overall was easy and pleasant due to her efforts.
The online process of getting the storage unit was super easy and convenient. Where the downside for me came in at was, Ive had many storage buildings in the past, so I have many locks to use. During set up and added on my first payment was a $17 charge for a lock they leave in your until for you when you go for the first time. But it clearly states if you dont need a lock and it is left unopened please just return it to the office for a refund. Great!! I was going to do this, but when I went for the first time the lock was in the package but miraculously the package was opened for me, by them when it was put there. So obviously cant return it for my ridiculously overpriced lock!! I could buy 3 or 4 locks for the $17 I was charged at any normal store. I am not a fan of how they MAKE you pay for the lock then tell you if you dont need just return if its not open but its open anyway when you go. Not a fan of deceptive things such as this.
We are no stranger to storage facilities due to our line of work. We found Extra Space Storage to be professional, clean and courteous, and the location is great... near Buford Hwy, I-85 and our former office. Should we need storage space in Duluth/Gwinnett in the future, we will definitely be going with Extra Space Storage.
There a few times that I needed assistance and they have always been so helpful and kind, especially Mark! The facility is clean and safe. I never had to worry about bugs or critters near my belongings. I went several times late at night and always felt safe. I would recommend them to a friend!

The units are clean and damage-free, and they have many size options. Ive been with Extra Space Storage on North Berkeley since Jan of 2020. All I can say EXCELLENT in all levels, professional staff (Mark and other staff members). I feel my unit is very secure at this location.
Since day 1 and a whole year later, Mark has been extremely helpful, available, and polite. Additionally, the facility is always kept clean and feels safe. If I ever had any issues/ questions, Mark always handled them expeditiously and professionally. I definitely recommend renting storage space here!

The sign up process was so easy. I love the blue tooth unlock and lock access. The inside storages are clean and spacious. Mark did a great job letting me know that my things would be secure and he was an awesome associate.

The staff at this Extra Storage location have made my life so much easier. We had some special arrangements we needed to make and they have been very accommodating in making it a smooth process. We have been using them since April/May and are more than happy. We just upgraded to a larger unit and the process was easy and efficient. The space is very well maintained.

I had to be out of my temporary storage unit at another unnamed rental facility and wanted to move somewhere more permanent in one motion on the same day. The place I was renting was increasing thier monthly rates by 300% so I needed to move quickly. When I called Extra Space, Mark picked right up and assured me that their special price (very competitive) would not suddenly increase after a short time like the other place. He just seamed forthright, so upon my approval he quickly processed me to get me a perfect unit and setup a great password for entry that I can never forget. When I arrived I realized that this place was better than I could have imagined. Clean, well-lit, secured with updated cameras and very good access to units plus close to home at a price that cant be beat. I may rent another unit and a parking slip when one becomes available and suggested it to a client who has a brand new AirStream (silver) tow-behind Camper.

Extra storage space requires you to go to the location to secure a unit. Due to my work schedule, I was not able to get to the location I wanted use. Management advised I could go to any location to secure the unit, and they closed at 6pm. It was 520pm when I was on the phone with them, and the nearest one to me was easily 40+ minutes due to rush hour traffic.I went to 2801 N. Berkeley Lake Rd. Duluth Ga, 30096. I was greeted by Mark Smith who was anticipating my arrival. Although I got there right at 6pm or so, he waited for my arrival. He got me situated, without rushing the process. He offered to walk me back to a unit (despite the 24 degree temperatures) so I could see what to expect.This location displayed excellent customer service and professionalism while maintaining a personable interaction. Definitely recommend this storage, I only needed the storage for a month and it was actually free for a month, with the exception of a lock and insurance fees..Other than that staff was efficient..storage was clean..convient..and I was able to access my storage at anytime.
I am saddened to learn that the temperature in my climate-control unit is not set to go on until the inside temperature exceeds 80 degrees. After visiting my storage unit over a week ago, it was so hot inside that I was sweating profusely, so after returning home, I tried calling the office but since it was after office hours, I sent an email to the corporate contact online. I haven’t heard back from corporate so I called the office again and the person on duty seemed to feel that there was no way that the cooling unit would kick in until the inside temperatures exceeded 80 degrees. I’m concerned that the level of humidity that I experienced being in my unit, which is more expensive than an outside unit for about 30 minutes was unbearable and I’m therefore not comfortable maintaining my belongings at this facility and will be making plans to move out as soon as possible.
I have only been using extra space storage for about 2 weeks. However I have 3 units here, and I am in and out of them several times a day. Mark, has been over the top helpful. The prices are better then anyone else in the area, and its a very clean property. Customer service, price, and cleanliness are the selling points for everyone. This is the ideal location with out a doubt. I highly recommend checking this out if you need a storage facility!

My daughter is moving and I needed moving supplies. I went to Extra Space to see what they had. Corey was very knowledgable and kind. He had a great attitude and smiled my whole visit. I went in for a couple of boxes and walked away with boxes, a dish protection kit, and some bubble wrap. He even brought my items to my car for me. This was an exceptional experience and I will return if we need any more moving supplies.

These guys are great. Such a wonderful experience for us expecially since we had to find a place last minute. Staff is wonderful. The lady that helped us usually works the old Norcross location and was filling in. If I could rate 20 stars I would.
Good price and location. My room is kind of clean, but I got ants come from the 2 room beside me which is a little bit annoying. Its located next to QuikTrip and about 1 mile from Walmart which makes working a few hours at the storage doesnt seem that bad.

I would try another storage facility. Staff is nice but honesty is not their strong suit. I established the account on autopay upon opening the account. At that time i was told you cant rent without insurance. After sometime in the hospital, we discovered it wasnt set up on autopay and we had to pay 500+ to prevent our things from being sold. We did. When we did, we were given a different key and lock because they cut ours off. I explained I had valuable things in the storage and was assured all was well. Later, Cory told us the storage facility was broken into. I guess they thought we didnt need to be told because we were behind due to their negligence. We reset the account on autopsy, but when I checked a month later, we found out the account wasnt set up a second time. We decided to move our stuff. We paid the past due and one more month. Once our items were removed, we notice three savings bonds were missing, all of my families birth certificates, my passport, my CA drivers license, our DC Marvel Comic collection, and some costume jewelry from Bradford QVC and Alfred Angelo. I was told by Cory...we never had insurance, but when I pointed out it is there policy you cant rent without insurance, he stated he never got any of my emails. I might add Cory does not return phone calls when he says. He claims he doesnt get the messages. Maybe he will gt this one.

The storage space was decent looking , It wasnt bad but the issue I have with the company is that ,when I agreed to price of my storage unit the price was $100 , no later than 3 weeks later I was informed that the storage unit had went down in price to 50 dollars , I feel as if the price of my storage unit should have been re agreed on , because of this I would most likely take my money somewhere else if I need another storage unit

BEWARE! Over 50 units broken in to this year (2016)! Totally unsafe and unsecured, no alarms and no monitoring. Prices start off reasonable, but expect rate increases 2-4 times a year, if your stuff lasts that long before its stolen.

2021-12-01I lived within a short drive to the facility and despite coming in within 15 mins of setting things up online they had everything ready to go. The store manager Mark Smith made everything about getting this feel great. He had my code to get into the facility ready for me and quickly was able to show me to where I needed to go. Very impressed with how ready and easy this whole process was made.This facility was perfect. After driving past here numerous time the clean look and safe area this place was in, lived up to all my expectations once I finally committed to my own unit. Their online site made it fairly easy to get set up. Was able to easily sign my contract, pay for the unit and even get insurance for the unit squared away and basically come right into the facility. The online 3D model was fairly spot on and looks to meet my need. Glad I decided to go with them.Definitely seems like this will be worth the money!

2022-06-27Called and spoke with Angel with a complicated move in. He stopped and worked through the situation, found me a unit at another location and even sent photos needed. A huge difference from when I called a competitor and they said they couldnt help and hung up. It was very much appreciated. I then contacted the contact person at the unit Angel had found for me, Earl, and he was also extremely helpful and easy to work with. Overall a great experience.

2022-03-21I am a new renter and there was a mix up in my preferred unit (climate controlled versus outside). Mark the manager was excellent! He patient and helpful in resolving the problem. He answered my questions and secured another unit for me the next day. My only concern is pricing which is confusing so PLEASE ask lots of questions. The internet rate is a temporary rate and after a few months it will likely match the walk in rate which can be $80 to $100 more! It is important people KNOW this so renters of storage units can budget accurately. It seems to be an industry wide issue and I hope Extra Space elects to ensure their customers are fully aware! Thank you!

2022-07-27Extremely clean lobby area.Employees greeted me and were incredibly friendly.I knew what I wanted space-wise and they showed me directly to an open unit that I could check out and loved it.I was ready to pay the price online but they had mentioned to me about their promotion where the first month was free so I definitely took that offer!

2022-07-18Extra Space Storage has a great facility (in Duluth, Ga) with customer service agents who were easy to talk to and easily able to answer all my questions! I saw them doing rounds regularly to make sure everyone’s belonging were safe and the grounds were kept clean. The storage units were behind a locked gate with code access so I never worried about my belongings for the almost 2 months they were in storage.

2022-03-02As you walk in, the place is clean and well kept. The customer service is outstanding, and they didnt try to sell my a space bigger than I needed. The whole area and the unit looked in great conditions. I looked at several other storages prior to Extra Space, but I didnt have to look any further after my experience there. I would recommend this to anyone needing some extra space for their things.
