I’ve been coming to Sevananda since I was a child so that says a lot. However; over the past couple of years I’ve noticed a big decline in terms of service. Today I went in for my monthly haul and the customer service was poor. No one spoke, asked if I needed assistance or anything, even the cashier at the register didn’t speak or give me my total after ringing me up. As I was checking out a guy I’m assuming was management was having a tussle with a woman at the front of the store who was attempting to enter. Not sure what the issue was but I think it definitely could’ve been handled differently then to cause a large scene especially given their recent history of issues. I’ve tried but I think I’m done shopping here. There are too many health food stores in Atlanta to shop at 1 that offers sub par service.
The hippest place in town. Explore this natural food store. 😃 Located in historic🌻 Little Five Points,🌼 the heart of the hippie district, youll find Sevananda, a jewel in the city; where you can find Every Herb 🌱 you would ever need. All the natural food🍜 organic fruits and vegetable, nuts and honeys. If they dont have it, ask,😀 they will do their best to acquire it for you. The people are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.🤗 With every visit i learn something🤓 new about healing my body through natural living The prices are very reasonable. I have been a regular visitor for over 25 years. 😁I love it so much that I became part of the coop. So come on in and learn what nature have for you or teach us something new🍃(100% Hippie 🌻CO OP owned.)I 100% recommend this place!
One of the BEST known secrets of Atlanta. I have shopped here for years and the selection is second to none. The Hot Bar to me is always on point with the tastiest food selections. Im not vegan or vegetarian, but the food help me with my weight loss quest. Knowledgeable staff and it shows they actually care aboit their customers.
So I love this place 😍😍 It always has what I need, the cereal options are Awesome!! Especially since I have a family full of Cereal heads (like seriously eat it whatever time of day). And the vegan brownie ✊🏽😋🙏🏽 Satisfies my 🍫 craving everytime. I live the herbs, the snack selections and the fact that theyre prices are reasonable for the quality food they provide. Kudos ✌🏽
Me and my wife where in Georgia Celebrating our 7th year of marriage...and we live supporting Black 🖤 Owned Establishments. This store was amazing. I Loved the foods and drinks they had inside and all the organic options of food.I would Love to come back and visit this store if we are blessed to return to Georgia..! Stay strong SEVANADA NATURAL FOOD STORE..💚🖤❤️✊🏾👍🏾💪🏾
One of my favorite places in Atlanta, they have a plethora of herbs, spices, vitamins oils and many other supplements. I love getting the raw cashews, peanuts and pastachios. If youre into a more holistic or healthy approach to life you might want to check this place out.
Terrible customer service and obscenely high prices for Generic products you can purchase anywhere else in 30 to 40%. Employees are almost always in a bad mood or have a bad attitude when I come to this location Regardless of how much I patronize this place no one ever seems to want to be there and that’s OK I’ll just take my business over to Whole Foods and their overpriced goods Where at least I can count on rates Customer Service and smile..🤷🏿♂️
Today was my 1st visit and I was in a huge rush. I found Wes at the front counter and told him what I needed. He was honest in telling me that he himself was fairly new but he immediately found another gentleman, whos name i didnt catch, to assist me. I was taken straight to the sage sticks and roots, the gentleman located what I needed and then another young lady assisted me in measuring everything out and getting to the checkout! I was literally in and out in 10 mins. The service was great, the employees were even better!! I will definitely be returning for a more extensive visit!!!
Nice place. Lots of items. Their prices need revisiting; high for things you can get elsewhere. And theyre horrible with answering the phone. They basically dont. So if you live 2 hours away and need info before taking the trip, find someone whos nearer. The area the store is located is pretty nice too.
Very poor customer service:Tenoa, a member of the customer service team, presented himself very unprofessionally in the following manner.1. He very rudely laughed at a patron attempting to return an item; rather than providing quality service to the customer, he laughed and remarked youre just mad because youre not getting your way.2. I understand there may be an extremely relaxed dress code for some employees at Sevananda, however, its hard to imagine that the sweat suit and fitted cap Tenoa wore didnt contribute to his unprofessional customer interaction. It seemed he forgot not only that he was at work, but that he is a manager.I drive all the way from Buckhead to support this local business. Therefore, witnessing an employee who is also a member of management comport themselves in such a crass, dismissive way was very disappointing.
Hoping to come back here one day and the whole place is vegan.A pleasant shopping experience, all of the volunteers / staff are so friendly. Theres such a large variety of options.Id say the produce like potatoes needs to be examined a bit more, I found some mold while searching.Overall, a really lovely gem to find while just walking around.
I love going to this place, its stocked with so many healthy alternatives. Veggie, Vegan, Raw Foodist lovers alike, you wont walk out empty handed. Its a cross between Wholefoods + Krogers natural section. Very cozy and small but has what you need at very reasonable prices. The hot bar is always Delish, they offer raw food and vegan options. Also try the coffee with a creamy almond milk or soymilk creamer. I love the vegan breakfast, rice paper bacon, vegan sausage, spelt biscuits, tofu scramble eggs with broccoli, onions, red bell pepper, organic raspberry jam....+ Their vegan Walnut brownies are to die for...... Yum!!!!😉
A DIVINE & COMPLETELY EARTHY CO-OP... IM SO IN LOVE❤❤❤ 1RST time visiting and will surely not be my last.. If youre trying to change your unhealthy eating lifestyle and you need awesome LOCAL SUPPORT & KNOWLEDGE please visit Sevananda inLittle 5 points you wont be disappointed..
I love this natural food coop. They have all the popular vegan brands, fresh produce, a hot bar, salad bar and soup station. The cooked food is always delicious and I love that they usually have an items that I am trying for the first time. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful.Today I stopped by for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised to see a Ginger Vyne cooler. They make one of the best juices. Also they make the best spelt biscuits.Even if you’re not vegan or vegetarian, but want to try a few items.. this is the shop to go to
One of the biggest blessings I’ve found since moving to Atlanta! Wow I could really write an entire article on the impact this staple has made in my life. One visit is sure to make anyone feel the same.I am now a member owner and the Chainges fund was chosen in the 2017 Be the Change program! Selection of products, staff, community classes & workshops and more , life is better with Sevananda.
I think pretty much everyone working here is a kind soul. I remember a young man in the bulk herb section that freely was going out of his way to try and offer me some advice. It seems most of the people working here care about their job and natural health. Also whomever the hiring manager is (they are definitely not superficial. IE clearly an equal opportunity employer regardless of race or disability. Props. Also they have a decent little cafe. I hope the food there is actually organic like they say it is. It was tasty and satiating, thats for sure.
Great atmosphere, great range and selection of foods. Well stocked and friendly staff. Can be pricey.Staff is aslo knowledgeable of foods and products so dont be afraid to ask them questions, you may find new products for home remedies like I did. This place takes health and wellness full circle, there is usually a holistic nutritionist and wellness advisor in person or on the radio. Isnt that cute? I mean what more could you ask for.Literally the only organic natural food market I trust.
One of the best health food stores/co-ops in Atlanta. They have a whole wall of herbs. Some herbs that are common and some that are uncommon. They tend to carry what stores like Whole Foods, Sprouts Market, Fresh Market and Trader Joes doesnt if youre into health and holistic medicine. I go to them for this reason.
The store has natural foods and options, but its real unnatural how they treat their customers and employees. Theyve had this scandal over them for a while now and theyve taken it out on employees, one cashier I saw there all the time just quit because of the harassment. Their foods arent worth all the pain and harassment they be doing
This place is despicable. They treat customers like trash, multiple employees have been reported for harassment, assault, and abuse and nothing has been done. Also, this establishment is NOT VEGAN as they are not cruelty-free and they also falsely advertise about their so-called cooperative principles and values which include accountability and equity- neither of which are enforced or lived up to. Check out their geo-tag on Instagram to see how they’re being exposed by the people they’ve mistreated and for lists of alternatives. Don’t support these people unless you support communal abuse.
Update: 2022 fewer stars becausev I am very disturbed that *our* Health Food Store does not have a mask policy concerning Covid19 and the *health* of all customers . I have written the manager and called to address this with No reply... I have been a member-owner and shopping here for 40+ years. If the co-op truly owns this store does the management answer to member-owners? Felton, give me a shout?
This store supports an abuser who has actively preyed on the stores customers. Not only has the store doubled down and supported the abuser, but theyve also harassed victims who have come to the store requesting accountability. Id give them 0 stats if I could. This store has proven it is not a safe place for customers.
My favorite place in GA. The only grocery store I try to shop at. The staff is really nice! I love the variety of fresh local and organic items. I keep my herb cabinets stocked up from Sevanada. You must visit this store if you are vegan, vegetarian or just practicing clean, better eating!!!
Recd gr8t customer support via phone at first. Once at the store to get my item, I was satisfied with the help I recd. Didnt explore too much since I only had a wellness item to pick up. No shopping was conducted otherwise, though I did get in a good chat with a customer who identified as a singer. Hope to get the same community like feel going 4ward. Peace 💯.
Great place for Natural and organic foods the only reason why I give it one star is because literally every place around there does not require you to wear a mask we’re not even in the mask mandated city anymore and out of all the places that force you to wear a mask this is actually the last place I would expect seeing as they sell natural herbs and natural holistic healing products but clearly it shows they don’t believe in the products that they sell in stores so it makes you question why you should even buy them… if they don’t believe they work.
Good products great enviroment. Why it falls short of five? Well most of the staff is awesome but you got one or two who seem to have attitudes. The products are a bit pricey but worth it. They never seem to have the unchikn salad anymore or that really good stroganoff. I wish they would stock it again
Absolutely wonderful local store for vegan goods and freshly prepared food. My favorites include the vegan mac n cheez, red smashed potatoes, chikn salad, and seasame and tofu noodles. You cant go wrong here with the food, and youre supporting a locally owned business! Its a win win all around!!
Wasnt pleased at all. Has gone downhill. Use to visit a lot!!! back in the day. N quite frankly service was unacceptable. Service used to b prompt n courteous. Workers were professional classy n knowledgeableI was disappointed to see the lack of value n service within this place. The late afternoon shift was subpar at best (unprofessional and useless!!!)They use to care about the customer n be grateful to help...now there just.....there!The products arent that bad...but the vibes and the people were a big letdown. I missed the original crew. Oh well I guess value doesnt last always. Throw the team away....jking. But Im glad i know i dont have to settle for low quality.Decent products....below average staff.
Was there on 05/30/21 around 3pm. I was disappointed to see how no one is attentive. I had no assistance. I had to help myself. I walked outside to leave and there was a guy playing loud music and one of the security guys was outside just dancing his life away. This place has gone down hill. And customer services is a joke if you call on the phone. No one answers the phone. On a Sunday at 11:30 am. I called 6 times and no answer I am so disappointed. Calling regarding a Product I purchase from this store. The 45 minute drive is not worth this at all! Where is management to hold their staff accountable! Be there for your customers!!!
I love going here, I just wish I lived closer 😢 Not only can I go here for Vegan specialty items, but this is where I refill my 5 gallon bottles with Alkaline water... For only $3.45! For 5 gallons! Cant beat that. They also have a deli/hot bar inside the store where they dry a mixture of vegan and non-vegan food, and its delicious. The staff in there are so so nice, peaceful, smiling and very helpful. I love this place ❤️
This place literally had an array of vegan options that my area in Covington doesn’t have.Vegan snacks, cereal, drinks, alternative meats and many other choices.A really nice place to walk around, talk to the genuine people and flow your cart with a ton of health-based stuff!Highly recommend anyone check it out, especially if you’re thinking of going vegan.
Excellent all natural market. Most prices are reasonable. They sell a wide variety of foods, supplements, herbs and personal items. I love this natural food coop. They have all the popular vegan brands, fresh produce, a hot bar, salad bar and soup station. Fresh from the farm produce, wonderful herbs, and spices...packaged or weigh your own in bulk. Super nice three meal of the day hot bar, and a dine in nook. Lunch was awesome and favorable. Customer service is really good. The food is amazing.
I just moved to Atlanta and was in need of a health food store (especially during this pandemic). I like this store because they sell Sea Moss (already prepared Sea Moss Gel and the actual Sea Moss where you can prepare the gel yourself). In addition to the grocery store, Sevananda also has a vitamin shop in the back that is pretty comprehensive where I got Fish Oil pills and Black Seed Oil.Pretty decent store in an artsy part of town (Little Five Points).Ill definitely be back when I need to re-up on vitamins.
I have been shopping at Sev since 2000. I appreciate the great customer service, staff members are usually knowledgeable about the product.I definitely enjoyed every moment of being a working member, and I am a lifetime cooperative as I continue to work for the sustainable development of my community.
I’ve shopped here in the past I lived not far from the store it’s worth every visit. The foods delicious the vegetables and fresh foods amazing and all type of herbs and delicious teas, juices, Awesome! just everything is worth it and you stay healthy as well !!!! I loved it! I really miss them, I really need to get there soon start my new Health regime plan - it keeps my immune system up as well ! I want my husband to visit as well he will love this place! A New Yorker!
ZERO STARS IF I COULD !I use to like shopping here, but not since I found out how upper management treats employees. I know people who work there. And the reason the store keeps changing its hours lately is because a lot of there employees and contracting Covid-19, and the upper manager is not telling them in time because she cares more about keeping the store open. But this puts us shoppers at risk too. I wont go back.
Wonderful store, great selections, clean, good lighting, helpful staff. The proces are pretty much on par with any health food store so its hard to be healthy and broke.🤣 But theyre not unreasonably expensive, just normally so. Worth the cost, for the things I purchased.
Joining Sevananda is a definite highlight of moving to ATL!Bleu was Super welcoming & knowledgeable. We found all our vegan products, fantastic produce, great health & wellness items, and friendly staff all over the store eager to offer assistance.SO happy to be a part of this co-op!✨🌿🌷🥦💖🥦🌷🌿✨
Great place with a great selection of kosher, organic and vegan products. It was recommended by a co-worker so I decided to go to support the local business. Loved the atmosphere until I checked out, the female cashier was very indifferent towards me, i greeted her with no response and no response when i said thank you at the end of my checkout. Love the products but I will not frequent a place where common courtesy is lacking.
I shop here often.. They have unique foods/ products for health conscious shoppers and the prepared foods are pretty consistently good. Employees are helpful. I appreciate the many advertisements for local events and services. Never know who youll run into here, likely a celeb shopping on the low. Parking can be frustrating when exiting. Interesting neighborhood as well.
Great place for genuine health foods and products. Its ridiculously expensive and I cant 100% say its worth it only because why is ice cream 6 dollars? You can get birthday cakes there and they usually have a hot bar open with delicious foods. They have raw and vegan options and its all delicious. I they have plants fruits and veggies. The staff are all nice and easy to converse with. Its one of my favorite places to eat just good food.
We’ve been coming here for years and absolutely love it! Excellent selection vegan and organic groceries and other products, and lots of freshly-made sweet treats, sandwiches, wraps, hot food, etc. Unlike Wholefoods, at which, in my experience, only some of the deli, baked goods, etc. are really tasty, we have yet to try something from Sevananda that we didn’t love! Great place to come to pick up lunch!
There is ABSOLUTELY NO customer service in this place at all. I live 20 miles from this store and have absolutely no success with anyone picking up the phone before wasting my time and gas to go there. I was in this store exactly 2 weeks ago when the young lady said soursop just came in yesterday day but no one have put it out as of yet. I understood that, therefore giving them a few days to stock is fair enough. The next day I start calling to inquire if the item were on the shelf to sale, but NEVER could get a human being to pick up the phone. The fourth day I decided to take a chance on driving the 20 miles to see about purchasing soursop. Walked in only to see the sign on the customer service desk stating “Closed “. Preceded to the natural herds area where I encountered an employee assisting a customer. Waiting patiently to inquire about the soursop. Per the employee “ It’s just me here and I haven’t had time to package it to sale” I explained I came in 4 days ago it was here and no one have gotten around to package items to be sold. Do anyone in this place care? And yet they request we the people support the community and accept this type of customer service. Amazon will be getting my money for soursop leaves. SMH
I am in love with this place. The employees were so patient with me and took so much time helping get the best products for my health. They were very knowledgeable and resourceful. I live over an hour away depending on traffic and I visit this place anytime Im led by my Heavenly Father too. Yes, this place is a blessing and honors the natural things that the Lord placed on this Earth to heal and sustain us. Go asap!!
Im surprised I havent written a review for this great place already, but here it is. Sevananda is a really awesome organic food market type grocery store. They have a pretty good selection of items (not as much stuff as whole foods) but you can find alternatives to most popular food items and also things you can use day to day. Some of the products are really great and are staples in my familys shopping trips. The staff are pretty friendly and willing to help out and give advice when you need it. Almost all the products are from really great organic and natural companies and they really try to make them attractive alternatives which work pretty great for food and other items. Also I recommend checking out their hot bar! Its super great quick food cooked in store. Overall, its a really great organic food store! Probably the best in the area. Definitely worth to check out and stop by sometimes.
It is nice to support businesses like this and have a place to find natural healthy products. However, customer service can use some improvement. Having customers is something to appreciate not take advantage of. If a customer is shopping, an associate should not ask them to move in order to help someone else then stand where the other customer is shopping and has left their items. Then get an attitude when the customer is asking if they continue their buying process. I recommended this store to someone but am regretting it.
Love this place. This is a strange statement but this grocery feels like home. I’ve lived in the area going on 4 years. The staff remember your face, they are friendly helpful and kind. They have a really great hot bar. It is always different. It’s like a vegan/ vegetarian heaven :) They sucked me in with how great the people who worked there are and also how lazy I am and do not want to cook: the food is usually good. Try them out if you haven’t. It doesn’t matter if you are vegan or vegetarian you can always find a snack or products you need. They season their food so well you won’t even know the difference.
I love this store so much I became member. I love the shopping, but as a non-vegan I am a super fan of the hot bar! Ive eaten there at least once a week for the past five years and yet to try anything I didnt like. So if you want to change up from your regular food routine stop on by.
I have lived in Georgia since I was little kid and I love it here! And this grocery store is the fairest grocery store in all of Georgia (Kinda like environmentalists) because they really care about women that get physically abused by people. Just as much as they care about animals that are murdered, I mean, just look! they are vegans and vegetarians and they totally agree with human rights as much as they agree with non cruelty for animals! And can you believe it? This group of people totally supports this community that lives in Georgia whom know about a family that had a little kid in Texas. In which the little kid reported over a 911 call that her parents were hitting her and running her over! And then when the dad went to go hit his wife this family was graced by a presence that made this couple’s body sweat appear in the air. Which apparently totally looks like water! Only because the mom had a guardian angel in her life that everyone around her swore that she could only receive in a physical way! And they were right! And these great and wonderful people actually told her directly that was an angel in her life! God is her friend. And Jesus loves her!And they told her children that too.And they told the dad that beats them to stop. And they got the same police to bring the dad to justice and they broughthim to justice and the group they worked with brought him back to Christ. And then the dad apologized to his family and spent rest of his life doing good deeds. And the family spent the rest of their lives with the presence of angels and now they know each other and now they are best friends! And these wonderful people that did this act of charity! Had such noble, honorable, and kind hearts that they actually founded a children’s organization to fund and support children that were beaten up or not kids. And they saved everyones life around them in their community and put all the bad guys to shame. And gave them gifts of grace and taught them to be better friends with god! And on the side they worked with a team of healthcare professionals whom genuinely have an education that serves them an intelligence that helps them build a world that’s kinder, safer, nonviolent, full of grace. And they worked and befriended these children and watched the miracles of the loving kindness and compassion of heaven, for the rest of their lives! Can you believe it these wonderful, noble, honorable people were so honest and nice! Thatthey did! And they got every commercial business interested in being with Jesus and having a life touched by angels to go along with them. All the way to heaven because water is so cool! And the children’s organization taught them that! 😇💘💘☮️Can you believe it? God is such a miracle! Just like this grocery store!Love Jesus, go vegan!
I enjoyed my experience I got most of what I had on my list and many things I didnt have on my list ..... I was bummed the freezers were out of service but totally understand that they have to be cleaned.... And there were three people too many over in the natural corner so I said I would go back and look there for some other goodies and frozen section. The prepped meals and goodies were great! I got some pad Thai and the vegan rice Krispies treats were bussin!
Staff is wonderful. If you have questions there is at least one person thats very knowledgeable of the subject and that has good recommendations. Ive been here multiple times and every time has been a good experience. I like the loose herb and spices section, they have such a wide variety for cooking, teas, and things for detoxing, and face masks. Id recommend Sevenanda to anyone!
Great store for all ur tea and health needs organic items to fully natural items from food to tea soap and body lotion vegan foods and much more!! great customer this store makes me feel like a big kid because I’m big on some natural items I love this store I’ve been coming here for years now my mom and dad use to take me when I was younger but since then I have lost them both but still great store I’ll continue coming here
Love them for the bulk section mostly. Produce and packaged goods can be overpriced but I dig the concept and their long-standing presence in the community. So, I still go. Friendly staff. Great selection of items that have good health in mind. From hair products to supplements. Hot bar in the back is good for tasty breakfast selections, some of which are vegan.
Wonderful, super quick and friendly service. I used their online store for the first time today, and I was amazed to find it was quicker and easier than the other online/pickup groceries Ive bought.Incredibly pleased to see that face masks are mandatory (at least as of June 19th, 2020). Thanks for looking after everyones health!
This is a small convenience store that takes you back to the 70s. They have all kinds of spices and oils. They have a small food bar that looked good but I didnt try it. The Kombucha they sell...I didnt like. They also have fresh wheat grass in the refrigerated section. Local vegetables. I liked it.
I am a member of this co-op and absolutely love shopping here. If you are vegetarian, vegan, or conscience about your diet, then you should definitely shop here. Prices on most items are better than the same item at Whole Foods. They also sell some items in bulk and have a wider variety of bulk herbs and spices than Whole Foods. There hot foods bar is excellent as well and always tasty!
I was visiting from Seattle and worried Atlanta didnt have much to offer for vegans. OH BOY was I WRONG! This place was better than any dedicated vegan grocery store in Seattle or Portland (although its a vegetarian/vegan grocer). The selection of dry goods, packaged goods and frozen goods was INSANE! The only thing lacking during the visit (late May in 2019) was a good selection of fresh produce, which I assume was because the season isnt upon us for such produce. I bet this place is packed to the gills with fresh produce during summer, because they certainly had the room to hold it. Pricing was fair, and about what I see in many small markets. What are you waiting for?! Head here and support a fantastic local business!!!
Sevananda is a part of my weekly shopping regime. I get all if my Alkaline drinking water here (I get the 5 gallon jugs which you get a credit for if you return the empty jugs). Truly a co-op run organization, they only supply local, organic produce. Grocery section is great and hot food bar is excellent for a (mostly) vegan breakfast. Their natural herbs section is quite extensive too.
For the Vegan, Dairy Free or Gluten Free Individual. Fresh Cooked Vegan Options for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. They also have frozen and various shelf items. They also have loose herbs, teas, flours and spices. Its a smaller version of Whole Foods. I wouldnt say this is where you should do a shopping haul for your groceries. Some of the items are a little pricey. Always a pleasant shopping experience. They also have their own parking lot. I mentioned the parking because Little Five Points has horrible parking. If the business doesnt have a designated area.
I visit about once month and go in time for breakfast and shop until lunch is served. 😁 Always good food! They have all of the staples I use and so many different items to choose from. The medicinal section with herbs/spices/roots etc is so interesting, I wish I could pull up a chair and read about everything.
Wonderful store. Down to the American gensing. Beautiful people walking around the store. Smiles and a clean store. The herb selection is awesome. Henna storage may need to be looked at as far as temperature and open air. It will take several trips to see everything.
Historical and successful member-owned consumer food cooperative. Very friendly, social and engaged staff. Huge offering, giant department for herbs, remedies, health and beauty aids. Wanting to visit for many years, I was highly impressed. Not pretentious, but very service and community oriented. Their impact on the neighborhood is apparent
Whether youre plant based like me, or simply a health conscious person, this place is heaven. Amazing selection of dried bulk goods, and good prices on them too. I treat myself to a Ginger Vyne juice every time I go. Love that theres a mixture of local products along with some of the name brand staples. I choose Sevananda over Whole Foods, Sprouts or other stores because Im getting a better selection, better prices, and supporting a local co-op everytime I go. Wish there were grocery stores like this everywhere!!
Everything here is vegan or vegetarian, and the employees are so friendly. They also have a hot bar if you need a meal as well as some vegan desserts made fresh if your sweet tooth ever needs to be satisfied in a pinch. The prices may be a bit more than your other grocery stores because its a co-op but they always have pretty good deals going on, rotating through products. Theres an incredible selection of bulk items here, especially granola. Honestly they have an amazing selection of everything, and they carry so many vegan brands you wont find elsewhere- it is paradise. I love that you can get honey in bulk here too.Bring your reusable containers to fill up with bulk items! Im so glad Atlanta has Sevananda where we can take advantage of amazing products by locals!!
This place was incredible, from produce, pantry staples, healthy food items, hot food bar and friendly people. The only downside is I couldnt use my chip at checkout. It took a little longer but if youre like me, at the end will be totally worth it. Will be back and recommend it.
Yes, I love going to this health food coop because it has an awesome friendly vibe. The customer service is Siberia. The vegetarian food bar has some awesome creative and unique hot vegan dishes and desserts to die for or should I say live far 😉...They use to have some great raw food chefs but unfortunately, They are not there any longer. So the raw dishes are small and Ok. I wish they get that chef back! But even so for your health food selection and a small friendly and personable market, I highly recommend them over Wholefoods- which is too commercial and tends to compromise the integrity of healthy food... well it is owned by Amazon so what would we expect.👊🏽👏🏽👍🏽‼️
I love this place. Ive been going for years (my Mom found it right away when we moved to Atlanta) since its where I find healthy vitamin brands, soaps, and bulk granola and herbs (for when Im feeling ambitious). I also find my favorite organic ginger ale here, when its not sold out. Thanks to their Instagram page, Ive ventured over to the hot bar a few times - for breakfast and dinner. Be mindful, the hot bar price adds up (like a certain chain store off Ponce) if you arent careful. Sticker shock is real back there! The good news is, everything Ive tried is well worth it, and the woman behind the counter was really helpful in assisting us with wise choices and recommendations. Lots of great vegan and vegetarian options that actually taste good on the cold bar, too!
Excellent all natural market. Most prices are reasonable. They sell a wide variety of foods, supplements, herbs and personal items. The prepared foods stand is also very good with fresh vegetarian selections. I believe in supporting small businesses such as this one.
Ive been shopping at Sevananda since I was a kids. I was born and raised in Atlanta and this was always a treat for me because every time we went my mom would buy us the Panda brand raspberry licorice! I buy it for my sons now. Some of the other staples are the lentil burgers, rice dream ice cream. The soaps are awesome and the herb section has everything.
They have really good products in there some stuff at grocery stores or Whole Foods may have. Their prices may be a little bit more as well. But if you need something for your health and well-being they really do try to help educate you on what they have on hand. So this was my first time going in there and it was very interesting to see what they have. They even have a food bar where they serve breakfast I know and other brunch Foods. But call and see what they have before you go if youre looking for a particular thing. Because getting over there and trying to find parking is a hassle when traffic is heavy on that street and then also youve got to think about trying to get out back onto the street which can be a headache to. Ive seen accidents on that street from people just trying to get across to go back the opposite way to get to the highway. So call before you go! Hope this helps.
I have shopped here for more then 25 years. Sevananda(a mouth full) is one of the oldest co-op health food stores in Atlanta. The staff is an interesting eclectic bunch that mean well. They usually have what l am looking for, my herbal supplements healthy snacks and food, so l go when l want my stuff now!
Sevananda is one of my favorite places to shop for natural and vegan specialty items. The people that you meet are friendly. A nice place to meet like-minded individuals. There will be a calmness that comes over you when you walk through the doors. It truly feels like home.
My family has been shopping here for years! The place was wonderful up to the beginning of this year 2013. The deli food went down drastically and they have stopped carrying a lot of items! Ive been checking constantly in the vitamin section and the shelves are bare. And its been several months. Ive been looking for some chewable multivitamins and they just dont have them anymore. Im wondering if the store is in financial difficulty. They still have some good items and I will still continue to shop here. I just will have to go to Return to Eden, Whole Foods or another local health food store. Because we have to travel all the way from Henry County to shop here. And its disappointing to walk in a store and they not have the essential items that you need. Sometimes customer service can be bad and the employees can be very rude. Did I mention the restrooms are terrible? They need to be remodeled. BE WARNED if you need to use the restroom they require to hold your drivers license or any form of identification just to use restroom. So make sure youve gone to a restroom before you get there.
Truly a better market.I discovered Sevananda while passing through the Little 5 Points shopping village, and Im glad I did, for the store proved to be a real resource. Not only did it offer the full spectrum of organic fare, but also an impressive selection of local produce, plus many uncommon, interesting health-related goodies scattered about. There was a supplement section, too, which was similarly diverse and complete. Best of all, the atmosphere was noticeably relaxed and un-supermarket-like, and my cashier was cheerful and laid-back - priceless in itself. Overall, a top-notch place, and one Ill return to someday.Much thanks to everyone at Sevananda, for helping provide for me. Keep up the good job :D
Wonderful atmosphere. I mostly go for thr fresh herbs and spices. The employees that work there are always more than willing to help and explain the benefits of the products they sell. I defiantly recommend this store to anyone. Overall I always have a great experience when I shop there.
I used to volunteer here in the late 70s and have seen a few changes since then. Glad to see them withstand the big boys and frankly I dont know how they do it, but Rainbow Grocery has as well. I dont buy as much here anymore but I do come regularly for bulk items and specials. Hard to compete with DFM etc. on organic veggies but appreciate the local stuff.
We ordered two cakes for my nephews birthday. A small one for his smash cake and a regular one size one for the family. They were soooooo kind over the phone and in person. They even spelled his name in strawberries!!!!! I couldn’t be more happy with everything. They went above and beyond. They were very respectful of my nephew’s dietary restrictions. My nephew’s birthday is now complete. Thank you to everyone who put there love in this order.
I live in Greenville SC and I wish we had such a store. Beautiful produce selections large selection of herbs. The best take away from my experience was the customer service I received. Every employee who wasnt busy helping someone spoke to me when I passed by. I over heard conversations of knowledgeable employees explaining things to customers. I dropped a jar of beet juice and I felt like I won a prize the way I was gently greeted and told it was ok. Ill be driving back 2 hours once I use all of my herbs just for for more they have earned a new customer.
I like this store in that you can find more rare things here at times, such as certain teas in bulk (which sell out). I also have eaten their prepared vegan food items and was pleased. They dont have a huge variety of things and sometimes their pricing isnt as competitive. But, some of those items you seek that are like health food specialty items...you will find them here.
An institution of health and wellness in Atlanta. The staff is friendly ay helpful. You can buy herbs, dry goods, and even honey in bulk. They sometimes host community events and their in a meeting space down stairs. Great place to get freshly baked vegan and gluten free cake slices. They have one of the best chocolate vegan gluten free cakes in Atlanta.
*Update: The Covid precautions here do not make sense. Wear masks and keep the store uncrowded...like Whole Foods. That is all you need. The long line to the blocked off supplements area is ridiculous. People are roaming around maskless in here too. So why am I standing in a club line to look at vitamins? Please. No money will be spent on this weirdness.*I have been shopping here for years now and it always feels like coming home. I like the whole feel of this place. Occasionally I have trouble finding things I need but, they offer to order it and all is well.
This is my all time favorite place to get my groceries and herbal goods. Its nice to go into a store where the people that work that actually know you, respect and appreciate you. I also love the fact that I am supporting my community and local farmers by being an owner in the cooperative.
This place is an institution when it comes to natural food, herbs, medicine and holistic remedies. When we first arrived here, it was the first name people referred to if you were vegetarian or not into chain drug store medicine.Their counter culture vibe is intrinsic to this Co-op store that is truly part of the neighborhood.Parking is tight and limited, but dont let that stop you. This is one of the few remaining gems of the ATL, especially now that Rainbow Natural Foods has closed. They can cover your desire for lunch on the go, to snacks; fresh produce or dried herbs, green skincare or bulk foods.
I really love this place! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I bought my membership a few months ago and I highly recommend you check them out. Yesterday I grabbed some new essential oils and a bit of Hyssop herbs 😊 #Coop #Vegan #Homeopathy #NaturalFoodMarket #Grocerys #LittleFivePoints
The guy working the hot bar just didnt acknowledge me at all and went and helped the guy that had walked up behind me. I use to love sev...I have been a customer for at least 20 years. I use to always feel welcome, but seems the service has gone down, at least to people like me. This is the first time I was just completely ignored.
There were a few people that were kind, and helpful. However, before I reached them, I encountered some of the most dismissive and poor customer service that I have ever experienced. One person even said she couldnt answer my question, because she was on a tight...at that moment, I just moved on.Ill try once more, but Ill make sure I wont have to ask anyone anything. Also, when one woman realized how rude she was, she complimented my hair. Tickled me...man, that doesnt give you a pass!
When I first discovered the store it was a gem but as of late not so much. On the last few occasions I will call and ask if they have in the store a particular item and when I show up within the hour it’s not what I asked for or it hasn’t been in for weeks. Staff is ok hours are very convenient but serves no purpose if they aren’t giving out accurate information I’m giving y’all a break
Special diet? IBS? Other gut issues? Vegetarian? Vegan? Health conscious? Gluten-free? This is your place! Now.... you cant complete a full grocery shop at this store. It is small and quaint but has options that would be difficult to find elsewhere. Sure Whole Foods (Whole check) would have some of the options here but who wants to pay that much? Plus, dont we like supporting local businesses. This place is located in L5P and has its own parking lot. The produce department is rather small but most of the options are organic. I like to stop in and get the ginger beer or hibiscuis juice. There is no meat that you can buy here but a lot of meatless options. Another thing that I like about this place is that they have food thats already cooked. I got the vegan potstickers and veggie noodles (both vegan) and they were so flavorful! I was impressed. I am not vegan or vegetarian but definitely health conscious. There are also options like vegan carrot cake. Feed that to the average person and I guarantee they will not be able to tell that it is vegan. In addition to food, there are also options like soaps, vitamins and oils. This is definitely a place to check out.
I have been driving by this place off and on for years. I finally decided to just stop by one day. Im so happy that I did. I stopped by there to find some Irish Moss that a coworker was looking for, and that was just my excuse to go. When I went in the store, I was pleasantly surprised. The store is not a large store, but it obviously serves a variety of people, which I love. Most of all I was able to find a sizeable selection of the Pure Castile Soap that I love. Needless to say, I am definitely hooked now. I will not look for the Pure Castile Soap anywhere else. Surprisingly that prices, were a little less than I found online, which I was happy about. I bought a few other items which were very interesting, which I have never seen at any other store. Also, each time I have been, the cashiers are extremely pleasant and move rather rapidly. If you or someone you know is looking for a good natural food store. This is the place. Just beware, at times, the parking lot can get a little crowded and getting our of there can be a little tricky at times, depending upon the traffic. Otherwise, I have enjoyed each and every visit to this store thus far and I intend to continue going as long as they are open.
I love this place because it gives you such a wid variety of everything like Herb, vitamins, cooked and uncooked foods and water. Such willing staff if you cant find what you are looking for just ask a staff member, they know all the specific. Sevananda is a great place to shop!

Cashier wasnt friendly didnt speak until spoken to. Maybe because I didnt me her expectation on how to look. A customer before me was treated very well she spoke to her and she told her that she smell very well and have a nice day. I didnt get that at all the young lady had green hair but still I told her to have a nice day. Remember treat all your customer the same dont look down on someone because of the way they look I was just coming from work.
There are so many temptations and opportunities to eat poorly. Fast junk food is addictive and everywhere. But, slow-down and stop. Look around and discover good alternatives: Sevananda Natural Foods Market is a surprisingly satisfying experience. It feeds your body and mind with wholesome foods that promote a better living – at reasonable prices.

2021-09-21You will find all natural products, herbs, alkaline water, supplements, vegetables, fruit, prepared food, CBD products, essential oils, candles, and so many other items that you cant find in an average grocery store. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved the hair products because there is a wide selection. I purchased perfume, Shea butter, Giovanni tea tree hair products, ear wax candles, tall candles, and alkaline water. I wanted to purchase more, but I knew it wouldnt fit in my suitcase. I will go back for more local honey, beeswax, Castile soap, tea, black seed oil, and sage.

2022-03-16I come here often, pre Covid and “post” Covid. I love this place and drive from Cobb County to get all my “roots & fruits” is what I call it. A lot of health beneficial products sold here so if you’re into health you MUST give this place a shot.

2022-06-14I love coming here to get loose leaf herbs. The variety is huge and everything is organized alphabetically. The herb area is clean and there are gloves and scoops for cleanliness. Im embarrassed to say I have never walked around the store.

2022-05-01I shop here often and was very disappointed with the experience I had last visit. There was a cashier with short green & blue locs with the nastiest attitude. She didnt greet or speak to my partner when he spoke, and it was apparent she was in a bad mood. She mumbled under her breath saying “thats too much” after I asked her to hand me my produce because she was just throwing items in my reusable bag. No I don’t want my bananas & kale under pounds of potatoes. But she continued to rush through the transaction & began placing my items in the bagging area instead of waiting for me to open another reusable bag to use. This employee made me very uncomfortable and I patronize this business too often to be treated this way. I couldn’t wait to get out of her line. On top of being pregnant I expect employees in this market to carry a different “energy” because it is a natural/holistic market. At least the cashier next to her gave us a kind farewell, but it didn’t do much. I hope Sevananda rethinks who they allow to represent their business. Another interaction like that and I will never return.

2021-06-29Would recommend you stop by if you’re in the area. Such a great source for healthy options. Parking lot can be tricky but that is the case everywhere in Little Five Points. I prefer the hotbar and pre made section. If youre looking for something big name stores dont carry maybe give this store a call on stop in to see if they carry it.
