Shoneys in other cities:
Its always nice to to see a Shoneys in business. Obviously the restaurant is outdated but it was very clean and surprisingly busy the all-you-can-eat buffet was $9.49 and it is worth it lots of food to choose from though the quality is 4 out of 5 stars the service was good the staff was friendly in and out exactly what I needed I might return but it would not be at the top of my list at this particular mile marker 290 exit.
Not bad at all. I got the all-you-can-eat bar, which included breakfast and lunch. The biscuits and gravy or not bad, but she gave me two whole biscuits, and put the gravy on the side. No big deal. The meatloaf taste a little bit like feet smell. All in all this is a place worth coming to.
Cheap, greasy, horrible food. The eggs smelled like sulfur and were overcooked. The bacon was barely cooked and the thinnest Ive ever seen. I dont know about any of the carb foods as I dont eat them. Which is also why the meat and eggs are important to me. The server gets 5 stars 🤩. I wish I remembered her name. She is a tiny little lady with dark, very curly hair. She has a very sweet spirit and seems to enjoy serving others. Merry Christmas sweet lady.Visited Sunday December 12, 2021 @ 10:00 A.M.
Traveling back home from Florida yesterday. Was coming through cartersville decided to stop in and try out the shoneys. The food was awesome the service was great. All but one person the manger named Barbara was horrible her attitude was the worst and she even lied to us saying there wasn’t a menu we had to eat off the bar. after all there was menu for the kitchen. Not only was she rude to us but to just about ever body with a question to ask her was rude I just don’t think I will ever walk back in the door as long as she is there I will remember that face. They better demote her to the kitchen r to a customer before she runs off all the customers
I wish I would be giving this place a great review but I cant. A long time ago I was a manager at Shoneys and won the five star award for the number one Shoneys in the country not once but twice in two separate locations, so I know what a Shoneys is supposed to be like. This was sad to see. I was excited to go here and was let down. The food bar wasnt stocked properly, spoons were not present and the actual food on the bar was not up to par for what I believe a Shoneys was to be. I mentioned this to the manager and she remained quiet as she rang us up for the meal we barely ate. Kudos to the server she was cool but man what a let down. Cmon guys, your one of the last remaining Shoneys around. Do you really want your customers experiences to be any less than stellar? You can do better than this and I expect more from you. Take a step back, look at your entry way and walk along the aisles and youll notice things right away that can be better. Train your bar staff that appearance is crucial. Everything is personal, you just have to make it honorable. Its a gamble going here. Maybe they will fix their issues after reading this. I hope they do.
First time at this location....and last. The food was pretty terrible and cold. It wasnt busy, so its understandable that the food wouldnt be fresh...but it was old. It was a little over priced to feel like you were eating someone elses leftovers. Wouldnt recommend. Service was ok, the lady was nice and the lady who ran the counter gave us a very small discount for the food being yuck. But still paid too much.
The food wasn’t bad, although it did remind me of World War II rations. But don’t worry, it’s still good. In terms of environment, it was a little sus. People kept staring at me, and I felt like I was in American Horror Story. I suppose I cant blame Shoney’s for that. I came for the potatoes and they didn’t serve them, so that was a little disappointing.
The hot food on the buffet was cold. We arrived at 7:15 AM and the steam table should have been hot. According to our very nice waitress and hostess the night crew did not close the steam table down properly Thurs and the Fri opening crew had to drain the water and clean it Our waitress then said this problem happens most of the time. I gave 2 stars for the friendly staff, overall cleanliness. The food by itself had great flavor but being cold ruined the meal. We did not ask for a discount nor was one offered.
Shoneys has always been a favorite since back in the 1980s.They had the most awesome Breakfast, lunch and dinner bars.we took our kids to eat everyone we were traveling. Tonight we are at the Shoneys in Cartersville Ga off. Of I-75. The meal was delicious and the Service was excellent. Raymond
Came here to eat breakfast/lunch and wasnt disappointed. I got the breakfast buffet and he got a club sandwich. Buffet meal was cooked well, had many selections and was filling. The club sandwich was really thick with meat and he enjoyed itThey must have gotten slammed just prior to us getting there as one whole section at the back was full of empty tables with dirty dishes on it. Waitresses were running full speed entire time we were there serving and cleaning up but were very friendly. We would return.
Got the All-American burger for my wife and I got the fish platter. Also got a chocolate fudge cake. Burger was great and the fish was really tasty. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Food was ready shortly after I arrived. The server taking care of the order waited to make the cake until I got there so it wouldnt get all mushy waiting. Very thoughtful.
The servers were very attentive. The food was very good it was hot what was supposed to be hot and what was supposed to be chilled was chilled They kept the bar filled and fresh all the time. I go to Shoneys at least once a week and on Friday nights they have seafood buffet. I highly recommend the Shoneys on Hwy 20 in Cartersville. What made me happy is they are spoiling my sweet little support dog. She stays in her tote bag and unless you see her little head you dont know she is there.
I have been to this Shoneys numerous times and it is normally really good, but not this time. The hot seafood bar was cold. When they would bring out fresh food they would mix it in with the already cold food. They were very slow at refilling empty food pans. The selection of food was very poor considering the price you pay for a seafood buffet. I had to chase the server down for drink refills. All around bad experience and not worth the drive to Catersville.
The breakfast buffet was amazing. The food was delicious, hot and fresh. The greeting was welcoming and the place was packed. Cracker Barrel had a 45 min wait for 1 person so we decided to try Shoneys and are certainly glad we did! Tiffany our waitress was spot on and funny. I highly suggest you stop for some homemade biscuits and awesome bacon.
When here after going to the Tellus Museum and it definitely reminded me of being a kid again, I probably havent been to one in over 15 years. I do think the menu items are a little over price but told $13 for all-you-can-eat is way reasonable, even if youre like me and you dont go back for seconds or thirds its still reasonable
I ate at Shoneys as a kid and young adult, many times. I have fond memories of the place. But not this one, nope never again here! The food was mediocre, over priced, and the waitress had a bad attitude off the rip! So if you get her dont expect a refill on anything and bring your own extra napkins...
Nice people butttttt run down, heat lamps need replacement/cold food, have to ask for spoons and not worth the cost for the buffet. Cracker Barrel is right across the street fyi. I will not be going back and do NOT recommend. Also, I must complement their sweet tea, VERY good. The sweet tea is why they got 2 stars vs 1 star.
Service was really great - the young lady who waited on our table was very pleasant and efficient. The food was quite decent, but definitely overpriced for what it is, especially with the currently limited menu. $13 for one person before a tip is just a bit too much for what you get. Decently clean, and nobody got sick which is always a plus for any buffet experience.
My wife and I ordered our dinner from this restaurant and what a disappointment it was. The food was horrible😝. Not to mention they got it wrong! We will not be retuning to this restaurant. The service was poor. It was not a good experience at all. A friend of ours warned us before we placed the order but we placed it anyway. We should have listened to our friend🤔. Dont waste your time and money going to this restaurant.
First off, I have not been in a Shoneys in years and years. Everything had a half hour wait and we did not want fast food but it was getting late and we wanted to get checked into our room.So they have a buffet....buffets creep me out and always have. So we told the lady we wanted menus.I ordered cou try fried steak, cole slaw and loaded mashed potatoes. I could not believe how good they were. The gravy was awesome. The slaw was good and creamy. The loaded mashed potatoes were GREAT. I am going to make them that way at home now. The tea was fresh brewed and really good. Obviously since the food was cooked for us it was hot and fresh. My wife and daughter had breakfast and my wife continued on and on about the breakfast potatoes.I am shocked I am saying these things because growing up Shoneys were known for catfish hamburgers and that amazing breakfast bar. I will be giving these restaurants another chance.
Came by on Xmas day as they were one of the few open they unfortunately I ly had a buffet of Christmas traditional food we were wanting something from the kitchen. The restaurant was clean the staff friendly and patiently waited as we decided if we were staying or going. The buffet did look delicious just not what we wanted. Will try again when kitchen is open.
I had the philly cheese steak sandwich which was really good. Kitchen was a little slow getting the food out considering that most of the tables chose the buffet. There did not seem to be any special Covid practices in place for the buffet. Waitress was wearing a mask and was good making sure drinks were refilled.
Menu lists food on the buffet that was not there, and the waitress and manager both knew it but didnt tell us. Menu price for the buffet was $1.00 less than we were charged, waitress knew the menu price was wrong but never said anything until we questioned the bill. Sooo, why 2 stars? The ribs were great! For the record, the glaring manager overheard our conversation with the waitress and went outside when we went to check out and did not come back in, and no one else would come run the cash register. Left cash on it paying our bill. Wonder if it got in the till.....but the ribs were very good.
Apparently they have new management. I had stopped eating there sometime ago because of conditions and poor wait staff. My friends and I stopped there after church for brunch. It was like a different restaurant. Clean , staff was friendly with fresh aporns. Food on the buffet was displayed more attractively and kept fresh. Over all it was a enjoyable meal. I didnt give it 5 stars because this restaurant needs updated. I love my senior discount there too.
For this place to have so much business they definitely need a bigger buffet bar. 8 people waiting in line for 5 minutes just for bacon was unheard of. When I asked the lady was she refilling the bacon she got an attitude. Why, I wil never know, however the general manager sent a plate of bacon to our table. For that I am grateful that they tried to make it right. I do not recommend the buffet!
We had a large family Easter meal here. Our service was so good and friendly. My only complaint was there were no kids menus, but our server knew the kids menu by heart and my kids ordered like they were looking at it anyway! The bar was kept fresh and stocked. I hadnt been here in awhile and compared to the last time I was here (no sodas, no salad, no hamburgers, the bathrooms were both broken) this was an amazing change!
We hosted a company event for some local nurses in the area. The staff and the food was awesome! Our server Debbie made us feel right and home and kept our glasses filled and did so with a friendly smile from 6am until 12 noon. The nurses who attended said the food was good, hot and fresh country breakfast with some great southern hospitality to go with it. I highly recommend this Shoneys location! Thank you Shoneys for a successful event!
Omg, the food wasnt good at all. Its seafood night & yet there wasnt any fresh food coming out. Even the soda was nasty. The fudge sundae i ordered had too much fudge on it. To make matters worse, the guy who was at the register attitude & body language was so nonchalant & dry that i told my wife that we are never going back there again. Customer service goes along way. This was my first & my last time ever eating at this place.
Friendly staff. We had the buffet, which was not bad, but not really great. There were flys flying around.. which I know is unavoidable sometimes because of people walking in and out. Just a little bit of a turn off. That and the food probably could have been a little warmer. In fact, I saw one couple leave after they discovered the food was not very hot.. and the flies of course.. we stayed and ate though , with a family of 5 .. none of us got sick, or even felt sick. But I probably wont be back, at least not for the buffet . But it makes me curious, if the buffet was not taken care of like it should be, and there were a few flies out front.. what goes on behind closed doors? Hmmmm. Maybe I wont be back.
Horrible customer service from the cashier Joshua/Joseph (cant recall exactly but it was definitely one or the other).Limited selections on the buffet for seafood night. We were part of a large group THAT HAD A RESERVATION yet management was completely unorganized. There wasnt enough silverware so our food sat on the plate getting colder by the minute until they could wash and wrap more. Drinks took far to long. My dining companions waited even longer just for menus. I asked the buffet attendant about the type of fish being served and was completely ignored. The only semi-positive was our waitress. Didnt see her name but today is her birthday. Kudos to her for remaining polite and keeping a smile on her face through the chaos. This was a complete let down and we will NEVER EVER return. The picture shows a bowl of lemons in a booster seat, in plain view in the dining room.
Out of all Shoneys in the metro area; this by far is my favorite. Their breakfast buffet is really tasty. They basically on is superb and so is the sausage. The best part of the breakfast is their breakfast rice! Man! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. You should come early and during the week; thats when the food is the best. Weekends are crowded. But if you want affordable food along with tasty food. Go to Shoneys in Cartersville! 😁
Food was pretty good. Facility needed work. Supposed to open at 6 am - did not unlock door til about 6:15. Breakfast bar was still being stocked. Not even bowls on bar for awhile. The lady who opened door, sat us and brought us drinks was not overly friendly but got a little better as time went on and another lady arrived to seat and work front. Hispanic lady stocking bar was very nice and helpful.
The food is great! They have home made quality peach jam, apple and BUTTER!!!!! OMG.I can tell that staff hasnt been trained that is what causes the lower reviews on service. My suggestion to the manager is, take your whole staff out to other places to learn from their service.I wish the coffee would be better. The bacon is delicious, thick slices, it could be crispier I AM NOT COMPLAININGI was lucky to sit next to a couple that was singing all the radio songs, dancing and telling each other I LOVE YOU!
We were on the road and getting hungry for breakfast and needed a stretch. Pull of the highway for gas and their was a Shoneys so we stopped in. Greeted with the nicest smile ad promptly given drinks. We had the breakfast buffet, during the week, I was heaven cause I have not seen a breakfast buffet during the week, the food was famtastic, even had fresh fruit and the makings for a strawberry shortcake. We had the most pleasant waitress. What a great start to our long drive that day,
Horrible experience, worst resturant I have ever been in! Its 8.99 for a buffet that they cant keep up with. The food that was left on the buffet was hard and inedible, and mostly burnt! We asked the waitress if they were going to add fresh food and fill it up. When they did start to refill we went up to the buffet to get food and the lady refilling the bar decides to pull a pan out right under my sons arm and almost burned him! They all have attitudes like they dont want to be working! DO NOT STOP IN GEORGIA!!
This was a pleasant rediscovery for me. Being located over on HWY20, I always forget about this place. My son actually suggested we go one day for breakfast, and I have been going back ever since. I do love their breakfast, and it is well priced. My son and I ate for $15.00, not too bad in my book. I will be remembering this place from now on.
Salad bar was disgusting. Chesse was dry, carrots were dried or drying, tomatoes were soft and a couple were ruint. Ordered the half pound dinner ×2. When the food arrived my sisters plate was minus her fries.. ummm what the hell kinda meat was that ?? Certainly not what Ive had prior visits.... and what happened to the grilled bread??? Asked about bread and they brought some thing that had been microwaved and was not worthy of eating... will not be back....
Our food was good, but service was not. We waited 20 minutes to place our order. One server had 4 tables, including ours (maybe) she told the manager she didnt have our table. She messed up a ticket and had to take several minutes at each table explaining this, rather than taking our order. Another of her tables kept going to the kitchen to get refills because this same server was too busy talking about how busy she was. Finally when the manager heard me say wonder how much our drinks are, as in we were going to leave, the manager took our order. Hate to say it, but this might be the reason you dont see many Shoneys anymore.
My husband and I went in for lunch. There were barely any customers and 3 employees at the front register. We waited 10 minutes to be seated and were never acknowledged even with 3 employees right there. We finally walked out and none of the employees seemed to notice or care. We used to enjoy eating at Shoneys but I doubt well go back after being treated so rudely.
The breakfast buffet is fantastic and affordable. Salad, fresh fruit, all different types of meat, pastries, cereal, and other breakfast staples. Its also available all week long unlike most breakfast buffets Monday through Friday 6am - 11am and weekends 6am - 2pm. If you are looking for a delicious variety of food for a great price in the morning you have try this!
Food on the buffet was dry .so we ordered off the menu. My pancakes werent done. Waitress said i couldnt get a biscuit but yet they were putting them out on the buffet. Our waitress brought our food but never came back to check on us. The food and services was just NOT GOOD
We go here every year for our Christmas breakfast. It may take a little bit for some of the food trays to be refilled, but its BUFFET! There isnt a better deal in town and the staff is great. So, for you naysayers, have you ever worked in a restaurant? It is a thankless job, but this location is the BEST!!!
Me and my two other friends waited to be seated for 10 minutes and we finally got seated and the people were disrespectful when we ordered and the most thing bothered us was that we waited for at least more than an hour waiting for our food, what a disgrace Im am really puzzled. Then there was this lovely lady the defended us because we been seated for an hour and plus they got there food first even though they got there before us. The lovely lady that got there before us also complained about the food being hard and the salad all dirty and I’m glad she did because everything they had was wack. So please do not go to shoneys!Thank you !
No place like Shoneys of Cartersville, Ga! I love the breakfast and Seafood bar ( havent had the seafood bar in a while.) I come all the way from Decatur, Ga and Im here Monday - Thursday at least 3-4 times. I will have the Seafood bar starting Friday, March 1!!!! Oh Yeah! I pass right by the Shoneys in Acworth, Ga but nah, (more like a Sports bar!) week!! Ms. Debbie, Ms. Debra, Ms. Johnnie, Ms. Cynthia as well as Ms. Tiffany are the Bomb!! Best waitresses in the AM!! Love you guys!!
Wife and I wanted to try something different we had never heard of before. Sadly we ended up here. We walked in and should of just walked out but we were a little rushed. Wife wanted the buffet since it would be quicker and we could get out of there. I did the same and regretted it for the entire rest of the day.
The price gouging on special days like Fathers Day or Mothers Day is ridiculous. They jack up the buffet price almost double and they dont allow you to order from the menu. That is probably why they dont have much of a crowd on these days. We like the buffet on other weekends, although sometimes they have a lack of service.
Traveling through, hoping for a quick and decent meal. Slow service and mediocre food at best. Ordered macaroni and cheese off kids menu and waited 30 minutes for it. Then, not even an hour after eating it, my daughter begins to vomit it all up. As soon as she got all of it out, she was much better.
Me and my 2 other friends waited to be seated for 10 mins and we finally got seated and the people were disrespectful when we ordered and the most thing that bothered us was that we waited for atleast more than an hour waiting for our food what a disgrace Im am really puzzle. Then there was this lovely lady that defended us because we been seated for an hour and plus the got there food first even though they got there before us. The lovely lady that got there before us also complained about her food being hard and the salad all dirty and I’m glad she did because everything they had was wack. So please do not go to shoneys! Thank you!
Absolutely the single worst restaurant weve ever been to. The breakfast bar was disgusting if you could even find any food on it. Burnt bacon, greasy cheese, cold grits, raw pancakes and inedible bone in ham that was dry as wood chips were some of the offerings that could be found when sporadically stocked. Cant believe this place is still open. Board of health needs to pay them a visit.
Got breakfast items since the lunch buffet looked like it had been sitting for a while. Fried potatoes were unseasoned. The toast tasted like it was made with stale bread. They ran out if pancake batter, so the waitress brought me out 2 as the cook was making more. no problem. 15 minutes later, mind you theyre pancakes, they brought me out 2 of the most unappealing pancakes you can make. The waitress even mentioned the look of them. The 2 pancakes werent even done, they came out smelling like batter, looked in the inside and it was wet dough! Got up, paid the bill and left.
I went to shoneys for breakfast this morning, there was hair in my drink and hair in my pancake. The waitress accused me of it being my hair when there hair was short and I have long hair. After that we also got several drinks with no carbonation. When I told the lady I didn’t think I should have to pay she got mad and started slamming stuff around.
Order grilled chicken with steamed vegetable s. The vegetables were not steamed straight out of a bag no favor. The grilled chicken suppose to be blackened it was straight grilled and dry. I have given several times I will never go back. Tried shrimp and grits it was a disaster too.....
We stopped here right at opening and I do not recommend. They didnt have but half the breakfast out and what they had our was either watery or super dry. The place looked like it need a new cleaning. The carpet was dirty and inside the restaurant smelled. Service was okay.
Poor service and cold food. Visited at 6:30pm and was told on 3 employees on duty, Manager who was cooking and waitressing, assistant manager who seemed to be running around with his head cut off, and a person to take care of the food bar, which was almost empty. What a zoo!. Decided on food bar since who knew how long it would take to get ordered food. No lettuce for almost 30 mins, and hot food was luke warm or cold. Wont be going back to that place. If it had not been for the business meeting I was attending there, I would have walked out. For that kind of money, I definitely will go somewhere else.
The worse experience at Shoneys we have ever had. Got there at 1:00pm Sunday afternoon. Should have ordered off the menu because the bar had more breakfast items than lunch items. Eggs were schoruched, bacon was greezy, smoked sausage (no pattie sausage). The lunch items were cold, fried chicken, meatloaf (I think), fried potatoes. This Shoneys needs to be remodeled badly, carpet coming loose and wrinkled everywhere. The only thing good, to us, was the water we drank and the strawberry angle food cupcakes.
We came here for the breakfast buffet on a Sunday, and literally drove past another Shoneys (in Acworth) to visit this one. The staff was polite and attentive. There was virtually no wait (Acworth cant say the same), and it gave that great retro Shoneys vibe that I loved as a kid.We will definitely be returning. Id rather drive 10 mins more to go to this one th an stand around for 10 mins at the other one and be ignored by the hostess until theyre actually ready to seat us.

2022-04-18Stopped in with my wife for dinner, our first time visiting a Shoneys. We were pleasantly surprised. I had the buffet and my wife had a fried shrimp dinner. Food was pretty good for a buffet. Portion size for the shrimp dinner was great and the shrimp was good. The real stars here are the employees. Such nice, attentive and welcoming people. Well definitely stop back in, thank you for such a pleasant dining experience.

2021-12-05Had the breakfast buffet. Just as I got to the buffet, biscuits were all gone! But as I was waiting for the person in front of me to finish filling their plate, more biscuits appeared! Delicious! Strong coffee, too!

2022-05-30Awesome job. Server was decent. Food was nicely done. Price was reasonable. It was very busy and they kept up great thanks to a fantastic kitchen crew! They were rockin it!Incredible hustle and attentive service all the while filling the buffet with tons of food! No shortage of bacon either. Great job ladies!

2022-06-05I take my sons there we we go to our hunt camp. They love the all you can eat breakfast bar. Its a decent price and a decent meal. Lots of choices but the bacon is not cooked or drained well.

2022-02-24Visited the establishment on yesterday and was very dissatisfied with the food quality there. They only had two meat options and popcorn shrimp. The sides were also very limited and every dish I tries was very bland. No way I ever pay almost 12 bucks for this buffet again. And it also seemed as though the restaurant was separated by skin Color. I observed a gentleman that after me get seated...they attempted to sit him in the area which was consistent with with his skin Color but he preferred to be seated on the opposite side.

2022-06-10You always know a good place to eat when you see lots of cars. That should have been my first clue. Really sweet people, but when we were in the restroom, the cook came in and blew her nose and left without washing her hands. The food wasnt that good. Floor felt slippery because of grease. I wont go back.

2022-03-24Great all you can eat breakfast. Good service (except the older lady who was seating people... she just looked grumpy and unhappy to be there). Restaurant was clean. Drinks refilled quickly.

2022-03-16They were short staffed on the day we visited but in all the food was hot and delicious with plenty of variety of breakfast items on the bar. Fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, sausage, everything that you want to eat and even fresh little powered donuts to top off a filling breakfast. Restrooms were clean.

2022-04-20The last of a great dine in food chain. The place was a little run down, nowhere near the way Piccadilly in Marietta was but could use some updating. We got there and the place was virtually empty but as we sat there more and more people started coming in. We both opted for the buffet seeing as it was only a $1more than what we were going to order, it was good, I had the fish and it was really good and had a piece of fried chicken and it was also good. I did try the Salisbury Steak it was ok. They had green beans, mac n cheese, mash potatoes and brown gravy, corn on the cob, turnips greens, sweet potatoes and so much more. With everything they had if they added fried green tomatoes to the lot they would have had all the making for a down home southern meal. Our server was awesome and made sure we had everything we needed and kept our glasses full, at the end of my meal I asked for just a half a glass of tea and for the first time in my life that is what I got, a half a glass. She was a rockstar!! Give this old relic a try!!!
