Shooters in other cities:
Wife and I went there a couple of months ago for the first time to shoot. The staff was really nice. One of the staff members talked to my wife about a smaller size gun that she could manage with her weak hands and it was greatly appreciated info. The range was fun and we had a good time shooting off about 200 rounds that day. The only downside was the two old clowns next to us as one of them would load his gun and then sit on the bench waiting his turn. Made me kinda nervous knowing someone was right behind me with a loaded weapon. At least he kept it pointed down the entire time. Other than those two old clowns Im good with this place.
No better environment than being around people who believe in our 2nd amendment. I witnessed young, old, black, white, different nationalities etc. Everyone having a good time. The staff was outstanding, ensuring safety and providing excellent customer service. (Its not a new experience, I go there about twice a year for the last 13 years)... thanks guys!
Even though the store had nothing that I needed they were able to recommend a place that did! Now this is just me thinking out loud when you walk up to the place theres a large sign saying no loaded guns I can understand this to a point but in my opinion a unloaded gun is nothing more than a hammer. I carry 24/7 standing in front of the door I had to unload my gun put everything in my pocket which takes me a total of 3 seconds to reload the gun so if I was a crazy person for one I wouldnt have paid attention to the sign even if I did it only bought him 3 seconds. I am a proud cwp holder and take that responsibility very seriously. (PS)Thanks for your response I will take note.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Owner is a real nice guy too! I enjoy shooting here and appreciate that there is a mandatory safety video that must be watched by new shooters. It always seems like a safe environment to me. Great place to try out and purchase new and used guns too. They have several models for rent.
Cheapest Therapy in TownShooters Indoor Range & Gun Shop was established in Augusta in 1993. They are open to the public 7 days a week. They have a climate-controlled indoor shooting range featuring 11 lanes, 25 yards long which is pretty standard for an indoor range.I shoot here regularly and think its a great looking range. The staff is always courteous and helpful. They have even loaned me a hammer release tool for my revolver when I forgot mine.I have done firearm transfers here and the process was completed efficiently. The staff has always been helpful and pleasant. As a person who has been around firearms his entire life I highly recommend this establishment. They are extremely accommodating and professional and take safety seriously. So stop on in and try some therapy the shooters way!
I liked it overall and had a great time but I have a few things. I felt like there wasnt much organization at the counter like we didnt see pricing anywhere and multiple people were talking to us. Obviously its very loud so bring good ear protection, I had ear plugs and over the ear headphones but it was still pretty bad. The things you hang your target on are pretty rickety so its hard to get them level and they take a long time to stop moving.
This was my 1st time at a shooting range, so I dont have much to compare it to, but I can at least say the prices were reasonable gun rentals are $10 ammo is $16 for 50, the fee to get in is around $20, if its your first time you gotta sign a few papers and watch a safety video thats like 8 minutes long. You of course can bring your own gun and your own ammo. The space is relatively small and it was hot af back there but the staff is coo and overall it was a decent experience.
Just started going to shooters about a month ago. Havent had a bad experience yet. Walk in, pick my targets, shoot as long as I want, 20 bucks, repeat. Its easy its fun its cheap. Love this place. Oh yeah they sell firearms to if youre in the market, and if youre not you should be ok? Buy your firearm here. Shoot here. Have fun here. Got it?
Amazing place, friendly staff, top quality services. Im an active duty Service Member stationed here in Augusta about to move to Germany. Buddy the owner and his staff took great care of me In a bind. These folks care for their patrons and appreciate Military service memebers! Thank you!
I dont know too much about gun ranges as I have only been to two in my life. With that being said I am definitely a novice in my review. What drew me to this location was that there was a deal on Groupon. You do not go to this place for the cleanliness or the customer service but rather just to shoot some rounds. I honestly dont have a bad thing to say about the place.
No better place to shot besides their outdoor range. They have plenty of options if you dont have your own weapon and the prices are reasonable. If you want to let the gunpowder tickle your nose this is your place.Be prepared to spend a few moments watching the gun safety video and to fill out paperwork. Bring ear and eye protection unless you want to pay extra.
Pros: nice range with plenty of space to practice. To my surprise they allow for a few types of rifles to be used which is a breath of fresh air as most indoor ranges Ive visited do not. Clean facility as well.Cons: unfortunately a good experience can be ruined by poor customer service which we received with Kyle. We hit one of the clips which they have a fee for. Understandable. We went to replace said clip with one from an empty bay and then went to pay the fee. Before we could pay Kyle was outside shaking his head at us. Nothing was said and we paid our fee and finished shooting. As we went to leave we asked Kyle why he was shaking his head and he flat out acused us of trying to steal saying we werent going to pay the fee. He then proceeded to tell us that most people would be so embarrassed to be that bad of a shot. Kyles attitude is great example of why you shouldnt assume things about people but also why many people are uncomfortable at gun ranges. There is no need to act superior. It should be a fun hobby anyone can enjoy.Summary: if you dont run in to Kyle youll most likely enjoy this place but unfortunately he seems to be a gun expert who feels superior to everyone else and he makes sure you know how great he thinks he is.
So today 21 Jan 2017, I stopped into this little hometown gun range and despite the negative reviews on here I had a good experience here. Ive been to plenty of indoor ranges that although may look nicer on the inside, they dont have the same kinda of management. Today I had a problem with some rounds that wouldnt quiet feed and what not but management was very quick and professional in making sure everything was set right. You can go into the nicest of ranges and get treated like dirt, but this place actually was concerned and very curteous about the issue. I will be visiting more often and recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of practice.
The only thing I dont like about this range is the total lack of airflow. It gets hot quickly and smoke tends to stick around and get pretty thick. There are tiny little fans at the head of each lane behind the shooter, but those fans really dont help much (at least they dont help for me)
Nice, small range. Not very busy on Weekdays. Was there with my Brother and Grandfather. If you are a first time shooter make sure to bring someone with experience in handeling a gun. Prices are okay. For rental there is a good variety in handguns and a small in long-guns. There is no Problem with being from a foreign country. 4/5 would come here next time I am in the US.
Its a great indoor shooting range. Its pretty cheap and very fun. They have some cool options for targets and many guns to rent. They also have guns to buy and eye and ear pro for borrow. Its a fun place for avid shooters, beginners, and anyone in between! Follow @skeletoncupid on Instagram!
Well since this was very first visit to a shooting range, I cant really compare it to anything... However, I did really enjoy my time there... One of the employees was very helpful; taught me how to hold my weapon to keep it from kicking me in the face... The other guy kinda warned up slowly.. Was hard to get him to talk or answer any questions. My overall experience was good for my first visit... GREAT pricing (TAKE your own ammo), clean, safe, and a lot of fun!!!! Except for the overwhelming sickening taste of gun powder that took hours to get rid of (no ventilation)...Big THANKS to that one guy that kept me from getting knocked out by my shot gun, and even came out to check on me after I finished my first round. Kinda made up for that other guy who could use help with his customer service skills...We are definitely going back...
I’m a novice shooter, but I really love this place. It’s really close to my house and they have a decent setup. It’s about $16 for a lane and a target. For your first time there, you’ll have to watch a safety video. They also have a nice little selection of guns to buy as well, and some of the best deals on Glocks I’ve seen in town! The only thing I wish they would allow is rapid fire for pistols. It’s a one round per second limit. But from what I understand, that’s a fairly typical rule of ranges and it’s in the interest of safety. So it’s by no means a deal breaker for me.
The place is good and the range is decent, but the ear pro they provide is worthless you can hear the gunshots almost as if you had no ear protection gear. the price is a bit up there as well i think almost 80$ for 2 adults, 2 ammo packs, 3 targets , 2 ear and 2 eye pro is a bit high but over all still good indoor range
Went in on two different occasions and spoke with the owner. He was very helpful with what i was looking for. The staff are very knowledgeable about the products. I feel really safe at the range when me and my lady go shooting. I highly recommend this gun store. 4 stars because there are things i have to buy online due to instore stock availabilty. Its a pleasure spending my money at shooters. Hope they never shut it down.
Bang, Bang, Bang. The cheapest therapy in town is an understatement! There were no frowns leaving town after we spent time at Shooters with my visiting relatives. Id heard about this place many times, and Im sorry I hadnt come sooner. They make it quick and easy to get in, get loaded, and get shooting. If you dont own, or didnt bring, your own guns and ammo, they have plenty to choose from.I WILL be back and more often than I will admit. Bang, Bang, Bang.On a side note, its very close to Krispy Kreme which we stopped in on after our fun with guns to get some hot glazed donuts. Nothing made us happier than guns and donuts! I highly recommend it.
PROS: The staff is very helpful and friendly, great hours and great prices for range rental.I love indoor ranges, no waiting for eveyone else to check you targets, this is helpful when you working with first time shooters or checking your sights. I even like their gun rental, this is a great way to test Id you like a gun before you spend hundreds of dollars.CONS: The range need a face lift, simple things like a fresh paint job, new lights and new cable system. Air quality could be better, I try to go during slow times to enjoy less smoke. These few changes would really bump them up to 5 Stars.
Its a nice laid back place to shoot inside away from the elements. They are big on safety, there are people there to answer any questions you might have and the staff is friendly and accomidating. You will have so much fun you may get carried away and end up spending more then you told your self you would
I love the reasonable prices for lane rentals, but there definitely needs to be more noise abatement material on the lanes. In the small enclosed area with all hard surfaces, I double up (plugs and muffs), and if someone is firing a rifle in any lane or large caliber handgun within a land or two, it really reverberates. I didnt really care too much until I brought my daughter in. Its pretty hard to give quality instruction. Also, a place to give your guns a wipe down off the line would be good, too. I get the safety concern, as they apparently had an ND before, but maybe a clearing barrel and designated seating with someone monitoring the clearing process?
Mediocre range. Not the worst Ive been to but far from the best. For the price, I expected more.Ive shot at indoor ranges in multiple states over decades of shooting. I shoot competitively and go through an average of 800-1000 rounds of pistol ammo a month. Since moving to Augusta I had not had a chance to shoot up until recently at Shooters. I will probably not be visiting this range again.Ventilation is poor. While the smoke and smell isnt overwhelming, its not up to standard. Even the worst indoor ranges Ive visited had better ventilation.Air conditioning couldnt handle the people and the size of the facility. I was sweating (and so was my shooting partner) with only half the bays occupied. The store portion is well cooled, but not the range. It was about 90 outside, but a commercial system is able to keep it comfortable at that temperature. They are either trying to save money on their electric bill or they need a new A/C.Target holder and trolley is below standard. Shooters charges around $15 per person. At indoor ranges that charge that much I have come to expect a computer controlled trolley capable of programming movement towards and away and facing (turning left or right) with delays and pauses. The trolley at Shooters was a basic 2 button (in and out) trolley that was loose. At the very least, they should have a real target clip. They have 2 binder clips suspended from bolts, and set too far apart to use anything but a full size target. You cannot use IDPA or USPSA type targets with their hanger. You cannot use reduced sized targets with their hanger.Distance markings were only on the walls but at non-standard distances and marked in feet instead of yards. Everything in the shooting world is measured in yards or meters. They need to change over to yard markings and they need to paint a stripe along the floor at varying distances so the inboard lane shooters can better place their target distance.Rental gun selection was decent though not impressive by any means. I did not rent any guns but I did take a look at the selection and the more popular models were available.Bathroom was clean. There is only one, but it was clean and stocked.Store was not well stocked (its a range not a gun store) but there was a couch and it was adequate.Rate of fire was limited to 1 shot per second with no exception. Their sign even states no double-tapping is permitted. While I can understand a limit on rate of fire to keep idiots from shooting the ceiling, limiting it to less than 3 shots in 2 seconds means you cannot adequately practice for self defense. Self defense practice should include double taps or failure drills which both require more than 1 shot per second. If the range is worried about idiots, the best course is to require shooters to be observed and approved by a range master before being allowed to shoot up to 3 rounds in succession. This would take less than a minute per shooter to observe their gun handling and decide whether they are safe.Holster draw is prohibited. Again, this is a rule to protect against idiots shooting themselves, the partitions/table, the floor, and each other. A good range will do the same thing I mentioned for the double taps above. It would take the range master less than a minute to observe a shooter (with an unloaded weapon) presenting gun from the holster. The range master can decide whether that person is safe or not. At most indoor ranges I have used, you can get approved for holster draw after showing that you are safe in your technique.Overall, Shooters is overpriced for what it is. Their outdoor range is somewhat better but still overpriced for the quality of the ranges. If you have the opportunity to shoot elsewhere, you may want to take it. In spite of the name, Shooters is not a range for regular pistol shooters. The low quality and high price make it a choice for people who shoot once a year (or a decade) but this place is not for anyone who shoots regularly.
Ive been to Shooters multiple times and have thoroughly enjoyed it. When you first go they ensure you understand and comply with SAFETY first, and once they recognize you and the fact that youre not some Billy Bad @$$ trying to destroy their establishment with your new bang stick they open up as some genuine guys.
The only range I found in the Augusta area that was open on a Thursday...wierd...anywho....the range was just fine for handguns. Not the nicest facility but it is an indoor range...I didnt expect much besides simply having a place to shoot. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Ihate driving from Hephzibah to Washington Rd but Ill definitely do it more often to utilize this range! Maybe they should open another one closer to Hephzibah/Ft. Gordon...
Stopped by Shooters last weekend to kill some time. I am originally from Illinois so I was not familiar with shooting anywhere else. I appreciated the safety video, as the information presented there should answer any questions about courtesy and range safety for new shooters. The price was very reasonable compared to what I am used to ($15) and there is no time limit! In fact, I could have gone home and come back and shoot some more later. The range itself was pretty nice although I think some increased ventilation would be good. After shooting through a magazine, the air around me was smoky and took a few seconds to clear. I will be back after I stock up on more ammo!
Bought and shot my first gun from shooters (glock 23 gen 4). people there were cool, and gave me a few pointers for a new shooter. To the person who said you cant bring your own ammo, thats false, I brought in 250 rounds just the other day.. besides that, very fair prices for lanes, targets, ammo, etc. I enjoy shooting there and shooting in general now.
Pros:Overall its a decent indoor range for handguns and small caliber rifles. Decent/fair pricing, they installed a few fans and ventilation system to improve air quality/comfort a while back. Bring your own ammo (didnt know that was a feature or rare but apparently it is. Just seems fair to me, minus improperly made handloads). Can buy hearing/eye protection and large paper targets in case youre in need of those things. You can also rent hearing and eye protection for single time use while youre there. Staff seems knowledgeable enough for most purposes, I think one of them does some basic gunsmithing, but I could be wrong. They also sell reloading equipment, firearm accessories, firearms, and billiards stuff.Cons:No larger calibers allowed as the berm there isnt rated for it (pile of gravel against a wall from what I can tell). Cramped, stalls are wooden; old and beat up. Hanging target holders use jimmy clips to hold your target and are rather annoying to use because of how theyre set up. Almost no modern equipment unless you count lights and old motorized rope pulleys for targets. The forced safety video for first-timers is rather annoying. Good info since its by the NSSF, but forcing it is a bit much. Can rent multiple firearms including an AR, AK, shotgun and handguns in multiple calibers from .22, to .45, convenient for someone wanting to try out different calibers before making a purchase decision.Other:I dont go here often, but I preferred it before the new management/changes. While I like the ventilation, I dont like that youre forced to watch a safety video now before youre allowed to do any shooting. Offering it optionally and highly recommending it would be preferred, but I can appreciate the desire to spread safety information and it cant do anything but help, politically. There is a one shot per second rule enforced here, so dont go there expecting to be able to do mag dumps or work on anything involving shooting more than 60 rounds per minute. Aside from that, expect your typical semi-run-down indoor range. Gets the job done if you need somewhere to shoot, but dont expect anything special.
I have been shooting there for quite some time now and absolutely have enjoyed my times there. I always deal with the same guys when I go there, so it has the atmosphere of Cheers when you walk in the door. Steve is one of the guys who I seem to always deal with on firearms transactions, and he always gives impeccable customer service.Range fees are a little steep compared to being able to shoot in your backyard for free. But buy a year membership and be done with it! It is so much cheaper than paying court costs for discharging a firearm within the city limits!I have noticed that they have the cheapest prices on Glock Pistols in the C.S.R.A. and have now purchased a total of 5 from them in the past 2 years. No one has them cheaper, even bigger stores such as Sydneys downtown or Academy Sports in Evans.
Reading through some of these reviews, I cant speak to the sales, since I am a SC resident and cant purchase Handguns in Ga. But as far as shooting goes, you cant get much better for cost. Two people can shoot on one lane all day for about 21 bucks not counting ammo or targets (which you can bring your own in).The last time I went in there, the lanes were full, and the guy behind the counter handed me a rack of balls, and said go around the corner and play a couple of games on the house, we will let you know when a lane opens up. Very cool in my opinion to keep the shooters coming back. Now to the one negative thing I have about Shooters, the shooting stalls could be fixed up a bit. They are showing their age, and the target runners, arent balanced, so when they get out a bit, they start listing to the side. The last stall is also their door to get on the range for maintenance and its very loose for lack of a better word, and not the best thing to leave your expensive firearms on. If they tighten up the hardware on the stalls, and redo their door/stall on the end, it would really keep the place current. But I cant complain about anything else.

2017-11-20Its was simple and fun. Wish there was a little more interaction with the employees. I would say its more for those who know what they are doing already. You will have to watch a 1st timers video. Not many gun options for rental, so bring your own.

2018-03-31Ive always wanted to go to the shooting range and me and my father finally went out and did that. It was wonderful never owning a gun or shooting one before there was people that work there that were very knowledgeable about everything you would need to know. Of course at first it was a Little nervous but the guy that was there made the instructions and critiques very easy to understand and correct. Me and my father had an absolute blast especially me and cant wait to go back!!

2022-01-15Went in inquiring price they would recommend about projectiles I was willing to put up for consignment they extremely lowballed me seemed suspiciously low almost. When I inquired about where they got that price he could only quote one website which was selling bulk (of course bulk will be somewhat lower price per projectile). He could only provide one website off hand. Meanwhile I had looked up for just 5 minutes and found you can buy what I was selling for double of what he was saying. Meanwhile theyre letting others put large pistol primers on consignment for 120$. No way I will ever put anything on consignment here.
