First off, this place smells amazing which is worth 5 stars alone. But I had a chocolate cupcake and Im not a fan of chocolate cake but this was hands down moist and melt in your mouth delicious. The price wasnt bad for this caliber of deliciousness!!
Wedding cake disaster! Everything started off great with very friendly staff! In which a lady told me even tho they dont open till 11 that someone would be there at 9 so I could pick my cake up early THE DAY OF MY WEDDING! Which I thought was super nice! Yea Right! I sent my husband to pick the cake up got there at 9 and had to wait 2 hours in the parking lot till they open. (Which made him run late for pictures) He finally got the cake and my REAL roses (my florist took and gave instructions to keep COLD) was turning brown. When the cake got to the venue it was leaning yes leaning! Almost sinking in on one side. The roses fell off and we had to replace them. Time to cut my cake and we couldnt being the plate that separates the layers was showing and in the way. My cater had to wrap my top layer up in saran wrap being we didnt get a box to take our top layer home. ( The manger informed me was my Carters place to provide) Not sure why being my Carters didnt make my cake!! When I called the 1st whole week after my wedding manger wasnt in. Supposed to have called me. Well almost 2 weeks later I finally talk to her (after calling back) she tells me that it didnt look like that. (How would she know being she was on vacation) anywho she went to tell me how they supposedly stacked their cake and on and on about how it was my husband who changed our flowers and put ugly brown ones on their. She dont understand why we couldnt cut the cake. Well needless to say they did refund me the stacking fee. But on my wedding day to get a cake like we did and already have so much other stuff going on just wasnt a good experience.
I got some red velvet cupcakes for my girlfriend for her birthday and she loved them. Best cupcakes in town

Great variety. The cake is great but the icing starts to taste the same regardless of flavors. But overall great honestly.
This was my first and last trip to small cakes in Albany, I know it was close to closing around 7:15 and when we went into the store the 2 at the register didn’t have a friendly appearance at all it was like we were more of a bother than anything. We got what was left because that was all that was displayed and they said that was all. A white female came in and asked for cupcakes and she was asked how many and went to the back and promptly brought them from the back. If there were more choices available then why not let us know. I work with the public everyday and I would never treat anyone the way things happened tonight. Very sad😢
Decided to try this place since the other store I would normally go to didnt have the cupcakes i wanted. I got the red velvet cupcakes and they weren’t what I expected.

Whenever were in the area, we have to drop in to get the lemon drop, chocoholic and oreo frosting cupcakes. Everything is delicious though! Good stuff!
Great cupcakes! I tried the cupcake milkshake, and it was delicious. Eventhough it took me a while to figure out what I wanted they never made me feel bad or rushed me.

I was disappointed in my cupcake, it was not very fresh. My husband said the same thing about his cupcake.
Ill probably never go back to this small cakes again..the bread was hard and dry and it was 2:00 when I purchased them...they must use a different mixture than Thomasville..and the Tallahassee stores..never going back..waist of money..the other stores are on point tho..👎👎
Try the RED VELVET Cupcake Milkshake. They have one of the best milkshakes ever. I am totally fan of the Milkshakes here.

2022-03-31I was skeptical at first from seeing some of the comments in here. BUT I absolutely love every cupcake. I ordered 6 yesterday and pick one of each. The lady was very nice, friendly and polite. The cupcakes are absolutely delicious they were so fluffy and flavorful. I will be a return customer for sure !!!!!

2022-04-22To me, the chocolate cupcake taste like box cake or store bought - not bakery quality. It wasn’t dense enough for me; the texture of the cake crumb. Icing was off putting; chemical aroma almost to me. Idk just all around unpleasant. 2nd attempt. Service was quick and friendly.

2022-02-26I used to love this place, however the quality of customer service on the weekends has come to an all time low. Employees on their nasty cell phones, grabbing cupcakes without gloves, not sealing or packing items correctly, rushing through transactions. Hopefully others will have a better experience.

2021-07-27When I say the cupcakes are not good!!.....they are decorated nice but I ate one it was not good and its my opinion maybe good to others but not to me. The lemon drop cupcake is a no 🤢 and the red velvet could have been better they put way too much cocoa powder in them I bake cakes so I know how red velvet should look and the prices are high if u gonna pay for a nice cupcakes like that then they better be good! But never again

2020-09-01I’m here for work and I ordered a couple of cupcakes for a special occasion tonight. They are super friendly, have great packaging, and everything was delivered seamlessly and very quick too! It was an expected delivery time of 30-45 minutes but arrived probably in 20! They even included a personalized “thank you” which I thought was so nice. Highly recommend ordering from SmallCakes in Albany!

2020-12-07I called this morning to place an order for my mom’s 60th birthday. My parents live in Albany, and I live in Arizona. Unfortunately, we ended up having to cancel our plans for her birthday this year, and I won’t be able to visit due to COVID. We’re all a little heartbroken, just like a lot of people about a lot of things this year.When I called, I was met with the sweetest voice of someone who genuinely was happy to help me. I do believe her name is Olivia. From the very beginning, she was incredibly kind and helpful. She suggested things and answered all of my questions without hesitation. I was able to place my order for my mom’s big day without ANY trouble and I was completely blown away with how wonderful my experience was here. Hands down the best, and I can’t wait to see my mom’s face over Zoom when she’s surprised (when my dad delivers) next week.THANK YOU guys for turning a sad situation into a great one and for making this so very easy, even from across the country. I’m more than impressed by Olivia (I really hope I’m getting that correct; I was outside and couldn’t hear super well when she told me!!!) and she turned my day around instantly. She’s a rockstar.
