I only give 2 stars because of my dental assistant. She was top of the line professional. My dentist on the other hand.......Saw me 2 minutes, declared they could do nothing and walked out. I had asked for help identifying a mass on my jaw. He NEVER checked it out although I asked twice. No real pain meds even though the nerve is exposed. No resolution other than I had to find an oral surgeon on my own. Disappointed!
Ive NEVER Been Here But after Reading sum Bad Reviews Im kinda terrified to Try Smith Dental. My Sister has an upcoming appointment So Ill see soon. I have great insurance so i just dont wanna go to anyplace that doesnt RESPECT their Customers Time or Quality of deserved services.
If I could give zero stars, I would. This place has a long wait time. Each time I have been to this office for an appointment, I had to wait 45 minutes to an hour after my scheduled time. For months now I have had a temporary crown. The dentist who I saw for this procedure was not very kind and would disregard my distress while they administered the numbing medicine in my jaw muscle. I had mentioned that I had TMJ, so this whole ordeal was very painful. The dentist was very dismissive of my discomfort and pain. After the first appointment for my crown, It was several months later that I came back. In January of this year, I scheduled an appointment for the permeant crown to be placed. This place scheduled me with a different dentist to place the crown. After this dentist grinded down my tooth, he said that the crown did not fit. I was distraught, there was blood all over my face and mouth, as well as some on my shirt. He replaced the temporary crown, and told me to come back and be scheduled under the original dentist. It was recently that I returned for the crown placement with the correct dentist. I had brought my mother with me this time because I did not feel comfortable being alone here. With my past history here, I was very afraid of coming back. Again, the wait time was very long. I was taken back to a room, and saw the original dentist. We discussed the process of the procedure. However, they couldnt find my crown. Apparently it had been thrown away. I find this to be very incompetent. No crown? The dentist said that we would need to get a remold for the crown. I decided to go ahead with his idea. I mentioned to him again that I have TMJ. When he administered the numbing medicine, it felt like acid was being poured all over my face. I reacted by crying and basically screaming. It was truly awful. I went into a full on panic attack. After about 15 minutes of trying to calm down, I decided that I no longer wanted to be treated here. I am truly appalled.I do hope that if someone were to read this review, they will decide not to give this office their business. I do not want others to experience the same mistreatment as well.
Cant recommend to look elsewhere enough. Spent nearly 20k on medically- necessitated crowns at the Anderson location and when I have an issue it is the longest ordeal to get seen. I had one crown break in March and they have had my replacement since May and am just now at an appointment. I called last month to inform them my temporary crown broke off and I was eating on my tooth stump. This is the earliest they could work me in. And now, just like every single other time Ive come to this office, its now 45 minutes past my appointment time and have yet to even see a hygenist.
Smith Dental is so horrible with their services . My mother went there to get her dentures adjusted , now she can’t eat without her mouth hurting. Also , Smith Dental messed up my bestfriend mouth , where she had to go to McDonald Manus to correct their horrible service in her mouth . The worst part about it all , she worked there & they NEVER tried to get the situation fixed , instead they fired her . I don’t know what’s worse with Smith Dental … being a customer or an employee.
Went for a cleaning, showed the dentist my (visible) cavity, he said “we’ll put some extra fluoride on that one” here we are months later and my cavity’s a lot worse! to add on, my sister just got 5 cavities filled at smith dental. dentist called back a few days later saying he thinks the fillings might’ve not adhered properly and she needs to come back. WASTE. OF. MONEY. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT WONT MAKE YOUR TEETH WORSE THAN THEY ALREADY ARE. trust me
If i could give negative 10 i would.... I originally went to smith dental April 2020 ...had xrays was told i needed 7 teeth extractions and that a partial denture would best work for me rather than having full denture on bottom. I was seen by Dr Ahn...his manner is awful..the dental assistant were great however dr ahn was not..i had an impression done and was told that she would be back to numb me before dr ahn began...while the young lady stepped out dr ahn came in and sat down explaining what he was about to do and if i felt pain to lift my hand...i told him i had not been numbed yet i had just gotten impression done and he said no youve been numbed with gel i repeated i had not been numbed and he stuck a long needle in my upper gum which the pain caused me to pass out and i bit down so hard i broke a tooth that was not to be extracted...the manager and 2 assistant came in room when they heard my niece who was with me scream for him to stop..even then he was still sticking my gum with needle ...they made him stop and i heard him say it wasnt his fault i was a cry baby and at that time he was told that no numbing had been done only my impression and that he was told the assistant had not numbed me yet..he said he must not have understood and thought they told him i was numbed and ready...he never came to apologize and i was rescheduled...next visit i saw Dr. Elerson who was great and gentle and very caring of my previous experience...i started crying because i was nervous and he told me everything was ok and he would take good care of me which he did...fast forward to july 2020 waited til july 2020 for partial due to lab messing up and having to remake not once but twice due to them not adding the correct amount of teeth...2 days after getting partial it was very painful ..called and went in for adjustment and was told i would have to get use to them but if they were still hurting after a few weeks to call...3 weeks later i called went back in and they shaved them down in back to keep from lifting.. I called 2 weeks later and explained that the partial was not working for me it was causing pain when i tried to wear it and it was also causing my bottom teeth to loosen when taking it off...i was told i was imagine that and those teeth were healthy or a partial wouldnt have been suggested..after all this the partial started to break and i called spoke to seceral different people..stephen..gabriella..jasmine..christy were some...this has went on so l9ng and no resolution..i was told in march 2021 that i need to come back in..explained to management that i had to move to rome g a 3 hours away due to my dads health amd that i could not come in nor did i want for another adjusting..i at this time due to all the problems requested a refund...was told i had to come in..so i made the trip along with my dad whom i had to rent a hotel for so he could rest after the almost 4 hour drive and when i got to the office was told they didnt have me on schedule for 4pm that day or any future appt showing for me..however a short pregnant manager who i cant remember her name told me she would look at them and after doing so and seeing that my bottom teeth the partial connects to were in fact movable and wobble back n forth with ease told me she would speak to owner about refund as it is clear tue partial is defective and she could clearly see the broken piece..i told her i would not leave them since im so far away and until a refund was reached id keep them and mail them once i had been refunded...have still not gotten refund only told i could come back pay to have extractions on 4 bottom teeth and have a denture made...at this point all i want is the money i paid for the partial refunded so i can get my teeth fixed elsewhere...i will not let smith dental do anything else to me as they have caused enough damage and dr Elerson is no longer there so its no way ill trust anyone there....they only care about money and not their patient..2 years and no resolution...i cant even smile because of the huge gap on bottom of missing teeth
I been a ortho pt at this practice for about 5 months. The orthodontist (Dr.Ellerby) quit all of a sudden and I haven’t had one adjustment since my braces were put on since JANUARY. They constantly cancel appointments. I commute from Atlanta just to get my braces adjusted. The owner of the practice only sees ortho patients every six weeks apparently, but they bill you monthly. I have only had color changes since I started my treatment. I have a appointment today for 5p but here it is almost 6pm and no one has pulled me back yet. These people are inconsiderate and rude. They only care about money. I suggest find a better orthodontist that can and will keep promises. This practice is ghetto and money hungry.
From the moment I stepped into this Dental Building, I was welcomed with a warm smile. Then to have an assistant hygienist to call my name at my appt. time to come back was amazing! This sweet young lady did X RAYS and kept me entertained. We talked about everything!!! This assistant hygienist will go far in life due to her personality. But wait!! The Hygienist walked in and I met an Angel. She was AMAZING AND VERY GENTLE while cleaning my teeth ! I felt nothing but relaxation. After that, the Doctor entered the room GENTLE AND VERY PROFESSIONAL! In a nut shell... I can’t wait for my next appointment! Thank you Smith Dental!!!!
Aggressive and apathetic dentist.Run from this place if you have dental pain, they will only make it worse then gaslight you about it. All about money for them they could care less about the patients they treat. Worst dentist office in Georgia. Would rather deal with dental pain than go back to this office.
I would not go here for orthodontics. It is a scam! We paid over $5000 3 years ago for my daughters braces. Every time we go the orthodontist isnt there. They keep saying that my daughter keeps breaking brackets and have discontinued her service because its not in compliance. And of course the office manager wasnt there to talk to. I had braces for 2 years and my teeth were fixed. She has had braces for 3 yeats now and all she has to show for it is a huge gap they created between her front teeth. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I was scheduled for a root canal in March it was never perform because the machine was being used at the time. It was only one machine in the whole building. I asked for a refund and still dont have it. Its been over 2 months and called over and over but still nothing.
Service is always courteous. Staff is very friendly and accommodating for scheduling. This is the only place that I know that helps with with scheduling, specially with young kids that go to school or have extracurricular activities. For years we,. working parents, struggled with scheduling of my kids dental appointments. We now have appointments during weekends. Last appointment we had was on a Sunday 6 pm.Thanks a lot for this great service !
If you are looking for a professional, immaculately clean, and knowledgeable Dentist and staff, look no further than Smith Dental Care. It is located on Highway 29 in Hull.My wife has been undergoing cancer treatments for just over 3 years. The chemotherapy damaged her teeth so badly, that she had to have oral surgery to have them removed. After the surgery, we were in search of a new dentist. Although we had a good dentist, we couldn’t afford his prices and he did not take our insurance. We had heard really good things about Smith Dental and we set up an appointment for a consultation. We were so impressed with that meeting, we knew we had found exactly the dentist and the staff for which we were looking. Our second appointment was just as impressive as our first. Our interaction with Dr. Nomi, Haley, Elyse and Selene was amazing. All of them made sure we were comfortable and listened carefully to our requests and answered all of our questions. As many doctors, hospitals and clinics that Shari has been to in the last 3 years with her cancer treatments, none have been more professional or showed more concern than they at Smith Dental. We will highly recommend them to everyone we know that is looking for a dentist.Bob and Shari Sinclair
I have now been here 4 times not by choice but necessity. My insurance covered my needed cleaning & fillings so I came here.1) During my initial cleaning I waited 50 minutes after to see a dentist who did not even discuss my new patient concerns with me2) I came to get the first of my needed fillings hoping it would be better. I waited 2 hours in the chair before raising concerns over my wait time. Most of us do work jobs and fillings do take time but to not even be started after 2 hours is excessive.3) after this filling I still had my sensitivity of my tooth and came back and told the dentist I was concerned it was because my bite was uneven. He dismissed it.4) I came back in for my second filling with the main doctor this time and my experience was quicker and better. He did adjust my bite, and my tooth is now better (again, what I told the former dentist who dismissed it). Due to this I decided to come back for my final filling and specifically did book with Smith to make sure it was a good experience again.5) I am writing this from that final visit where I have now been here over 2 hours and have not even been numbed. The doctor is in another procedure which I get. However, why is this place CONSTANTLY over booked. The first two dentist gave me horrible bed side customer service and 2+ hour wait times is excessive, unnecessary and rude. I have to call multiple times to make appointments before I am called back.I am educated, have worked in patient care and customer service. This is horrific. Unacceptable. If you must come here due to insurance needs then by all means do. But be prepared to spend your entire day here.I say this as someone who’s never left more than 2 other google reviews and is very understanding of most people in patient/customer care. Do not come to smith dental otherwise.
All the staff is friendly now, Dr. Elerson is a great dentist, and his assistants very nice , they have been working to give me the award winning smile I never had. They have been courteous and efficient and have made the experience comfortable. I had bad experiences other places in the past and it made me reluctant, but the staff at smiths changed all that!! Thank you, sincerely , Eric L Adams.
I love Smith Dental Care! The people that work there are so friendly and accommodating. Dr. Nomi is very nice and likes his work to be perfect. The atmosphere of the office is relaxing and is painted in my favorite shade of blue making me feel relaxed. I never have to wait long to be seen by the Dr. They even answer the phone saying, how can I make you smile today! Great place!! Would totally recommend to everyone looking for a great atmosphere and superb services.
It was a great experience from start to finish. From making my appointment to having my exam, all of the Staff was very friendly and helpful. My experience with Tiffany cleaning my teeth was thorough and gentle, and went quickly while my sling conversation. I highly recommend this office, and looking forward to my follow up appointment already scheduled.Great job Smiths Dental. 👍
If a zero Star review was possible, that is what this place would get.First off, I came in last month for my appointment to get a cleaning, they waited to tell me that I had to reschedule my appointment because they didn’t have any hygienist in that day to preform my cleaning, so I had to literally sit around for 2 hours for nothing. Then finally was able to reschedule my appointment for the next available day, which was a month away, I personally thought they should’ve squeezed me in sooner since the rescheduling was due to their neglect and lack of customer service. So, again I make arrangements to be home for my appointment, since I work out of town, it’s hard for me to make appointments and get time to be home for them. So the appointment they have rescheduled for me, they call the morning of to tell me that they over booked the day with appointments and they are short hygienist this day as well, and again they try to reschedule weeks away, probably just to have to reschedule me again. So, needles to say, they will not be getting any of my business, or the business of anyone I know because I will pass my bad experience to everyone I know, and give my best effort to detour anyone I know from going there and dealing with the same aggravation.*****ZERO STAR REVIEW*****
WriteIt was a great experience from start to finish. From making my appointment to having my exam, all of the Staff was very friendly and helpful. My experience with Karen cleaning my teeth was thorough and gentle, and went quickly while my sling conversation. I highly recommend this office, and looking forward to my follow up appointment already scheduled.Great job Smiths Dental. 👍
Today was my first visit at this dental facility. I really enjoyed the experience everyone was soo friendly and patient! Even though I’ve only had one appointment I would recommend Smith Dental Care on Hwy 29, to anyone especially anyone in Athens or surrounding areas! Ms. Tiffany L was my dental hygienist she did a phenomenal job on my cleaning! Ms. Anna C was my dental hygienist assistant she too did a great job! In addition, to their wonderful customer service I was able to interact with Ms. Melissa & Ms. Jessie (dental hygienist), Ms. Tiffany (dental hygienist assistant), Ms. Kendra (front desk-that’s where she was as I was checking out), and Dr. Nomi, who was very attentive ,of me giving an update of my dental history! I will definitely be back as long as they accept my insurance!
Very professional very clean put my worries at ease, I had a bad experience with a dentist some years ago. And it scared me to death. But finally making the steps to keep moving forward on my self care journey. I’m glad one of my coworkers recommended smith to me no regrets they are my Go to for life and yes I will be recommending them to EVERYONE!
First visit was today. Hadnt been to Dentist in years! They were great. Didnt make me feel bad about and offered me a payment plan. Cost was so much lower than I thought that was able to pay in full. Very friendly, professional, and VERY sanitary and careful following ALL Covid safety recommendations and more. Extremely pleased. Melissa was my hygienist & Dr. Dave my Dentist. Already have recommended this business to friends!!! 😊
Was able to work me in on an emergency situation with no problem! Super sweet staff. Dr. Smith is friendly, honest, and to the point. I have always been anxious about going to the dentist, but Dr. Smith and his staff made me feel comfortable and that they were trustworthy. They offer a payment plan, Care Credit, as well as accepting dental insurance. Reasonable price for excellent service!
I had my first visit at Smith Dental yesterday and had a wonderful experience. The entire staff was personable and professional. My hygienist was excellent and very efficient but also super nice. I’ve already made my next cleaning appointment. It’s great that a dental business understands that most people work M-F and offers weekend appointments!
My review has gone from a glowing 5 stars, to a pathetic 1 star - just like their service. This place used to be so nice and well-ran. Now it is nothing but a joke. I have had a cleaning scheduled for over 6 months, set for tomorrow. I just got a TEXT to call them, because it was canceled. Why can’t THEY call ME? So I call, and the girl informed me that they will be closed tomorrow (no reason was given) and my new appointment date could be set for mid-late MAY. Two and a half months away! She never apologized for the inconvenience. I told her I would just like to cancel the appointment altogether, as that was way too far out. She said “okay” and that was the end of it. Still no apology or attempt to work me in at a REASONABLE date. They have been nothing but trouble dealing with a family member of mine. Constantly canceling and rescheduling appointments at the last minute (the day before or mere hours before). One time a couple of months ago, they didn’t even let her know it was canceled until she arrived. Then they tried to make her go to their Hartwell location, a couple of days later. She drove all of that way to the Hartwell location, only to find that they were closed. They then told her she could go to a location in SOUTH CAROLINA the next day.Pure insanity. This place has come to be ran so poorly with a staff that truly does not care about the customer.I will never return to Smith Dental!
DO NOT EVER entrust your dental care to this place!!! This is a warning you absolutely need to listen to! I visited Smith Dental for a cracked tooth because they are open on weekends. While injecting the numbing medicine, he repeatedly yelled for me to open wider even though I was opening as far as it was possible for me to. Following that, he rudely spoke to his dental assistant and then instructed me to raise my right hand if I felt a sharp pain. I raised my hand and he said “Oh that’s sharp?! That’s sharp?!” and then asked “Is it sharp like this?!” He then proceeded to poke my hand with a dental tool while repeatedly asking that. He said I can’t do anything about that and I burst into tears and asked to leave. I have never been one to be afraid of the dentist, but I left that office shaking and sobbing. His bedside manner was nonexistent and the way that he treats not only his patients, but those that work with him is incredibly mean. To say it was a horrible experience doesn’t even describe it.
Best dentist office I’ve ever been to. The doctors are all too-notch and make you feel comfortable and are always willing to talk through your options with you about the treatment plans that will best suit your needs and answer all of your questions. The reception, billing and well all the staff are so friendly and willing to help. We can’t thank them enough for all of their hard work and for being so amazing! The offices we’ve been to have been immaculate, clean and well taken care of. Definitely recommend for everything from simple cleaning, to oral surgery and orthodontia. Also, they are all awesome with kids! We won’t go anywhere else!
If I could give them 6 stars, I would. This place is fantastic in every way. Staff is super helpful, always friendly, and everyone there gives the place a very positive and welcoming energy. They work so well with insurance, and are super understanding when it comes to questions with any billing or cost. Best Dental office Ive been to in years, they made my smile better than its ever been, definitely would recommend 10/10.
Every time I have ever been to this place there was always poor dental work done. Cap cost $2500 came out in less than year. Tooth removal left part of my tooth behind and had to go back again to remove what was missed. Different dentist did a simple fill in and it cracked my real tooth within 3 days . I will never go back and do not advise anyone else going because they never tell you the work they are charging you for isn’t likely to last more than a few days at best. When you pay thousands of dollars you expect a long term lasting dental work to be applied. Not a few days. I am fighting for a refund now
I was talking to a friend who recommended Smith Dental after I explained what was happening at my previous dentist... just amazed at what quality folk look like. Just wowed. I felt they listened to every concern and everything was explained professionally and in great detail with multiple options. They helped in any and every way imaginable. But the way youre treated is just above and beyond... Ive never seen this quality from a dentist in my life, from the beginning to end was an absolute blessing. My friend was right and Im feeling better about my teeth future lol
Wow! I haven’t been to the dentist in many years, and felt welcomed as soon as I walked in. Dr. Elerson was very understanding and was very patient with as I begin to cry due to being overwhelmed and anxiety. He explained everything where we wanted to start at to get me where I want to be. Staff also was extremely friendly! And the lobby was super comfy. Thank you so much!
Really nice experience. They have the latest technology and their staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. This was my first time visiting, but a coworker recommended them. The waiting room is NICE and their hours of operation are phenomenal! If you dont want to wait, fill out your paperwork online. Overall, it was a great experience and Ill be back... in six months.
I absolutely love this dental office! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Clean facilities and properly practicing social distancing guidelines. Big thanks to Hamilton for getting me all set up for my first cleaning. He was so helpful and friendly and welcoming. It is great to receive such wonderful customer service!
The staff is always so nice, and the dentists are willing to discuss and alter care plans if you need it. Sure, the wait may be long, but I feel like it is worth it.BONUS: my dentist didnt mind it when I asked to wear earbuds during an extraction. I was nervous, and thought music would help me stay calm. He was totally cool with it, and that made the experience so much better.
I and my son Chandler came to the Smith Dental on highway 29 Athens Georgia on August 11,2021! The whole staff was great and I was very pleased with how much they really care about there patients there. Very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed seeing you all. Yall took very care of me and my son. Thanks for the great work.
Friendly service. I’m impressed with their service and did not charge me a cent for most basic stuff. They sent me a copy of my x-ray with no questions. Only issue is the wait time. It is extremely long (in the lobby or in a room). Don’t forget to grab a book to read or download a movie to your phone, before you visit 😁. My previous visits took about 2 - 3 hours each time. But, I will still go there for my future dental needs.
Ive been going to Smith Dental for about two years now, and they have always been friendly and helpful. They accept almost all insurance, too. The only problem is that when they get busy, the wait time can be an hour, or more just for a cleaning. Despite this, I still recommend Smith Dental. In fact, I recently recommended them to one of my neighbors, who was very happy with their experience as well.
My experience today was fantastic. Susan at the front took great care to check me in and see to it that I was taken back promptly. My hygienist, Traci was nothing short of amazing. Her thorough technique left my smile exactly the way I wanted. I highly recommend this practice.
Very professional. The waiting room was very comfortable and I must say the 80s music that was playing in the loudspeakers was awesome! Dr. McDonald? I think that was his name was very nice and has a nice chair side manner. The staff was very helpful and even though I had to wait for a long time for them to get a good X-ray, they kept me informed the whole time!
I have been looking for a new Dentist for some time. Tried two that came highly recommended, yet were not all pulled together. Doctors, Dentist, Mechanics, Therapist & Churches, Schools & Homes have to feel right...Smith Dental checked all the boxes for me. Clean, State-of-the-Art equipment & decor. VERY friendly staff that seem to get along & enjoy working with each other... I parted ways with a Dentist I LOVED in Winder who did amazing work but their staff were rude, surly, and had issues! Love the fact this Clinic stays open 7 Days a week 8AM-8PM. Highly recommend them theyve got a great customer service focused business and yes I will go back!
I usually like this dentist for ease of appointment scheduling and no fuss dentistry, but today my routine cleaning took over 2 hours, with probably 25 minutes of active time and less than 5 with the dentist himself. This was after my appointment for last week was cancelled an hour before my visit time. I hope this isn’t a trend.
Thank you! The whole experience was great. I’m a first time customer. Because of insurance, I had to change dentist. I chose a dentist closer to home, glad I did. My appointment was for 1:00 PM, I was in the dentist chair at 12:59, a very rare occurrence. The cleaning took about an hour. They made the whole thing as painless as they could. ( If you can, can you get dark safety glasses. I have macula degeneration in my left eye. Staring at the light in clear safety glasses was a little uncomfortable.) Thank you again.
This was my first visit and I came for a cleaning only. The extended hours and weekends drew me in. I was very impressed with my hygienist, Sarah. She was very patient and made sure I was comfortable. I’m am terrified of the dentist and she did a great job. I will definitely be back and highly recommended them.
1. Almost every time I came here for my appointments, I had to wait an excessive amount of time to be called in. During one of my last visits (last December), they numbed me for fillings and then I waited two hours before getting impatient, rescheduling and leaving.2. Two days after fillings, a chunk of filling broke off my tooth! They scheduled me for the next week to get it repaired, but the dentist did not smooth it down. In fact, all the fillings I got here are raised on my teeth. It feels like I have a hard piece of chewed up gum on each tooth.3. Its been 8 months since I got my fillings, and now two of the teeth that were filled are causing me extreme pain.I will never go back to Smith Dental and have made an appointment with a more reputable dentist. Yes, it will be more expensive, (more expensive now that Smith dental has messed up the side of my mouth that didnt hurt) but at least I know my teeth will be taken care of properly!
My first time coming I called at 9 am and made my appt for 3pm. The place is very nice and clean. I waited over a hour for my appt. The receptionist never told me they were over hour behind so I decided to leave. I will never go back the front desk people act like they dont care. They aint got too ever worry about me coming back lost time from my job!
Very unprofessional! I made an appointment for today at the beginning of June, specifically asking for a dentist in network. They even called me to confirm the appointment on Wednesday. To get there by 4pm, I had to leave work early, which is fine if I can really get my teeth fixed. I waited in the lobby for half an hour, only got called in after asking the front desk what’s going on. After that, I was sitting in the dentist chair for another half an hour. Again, nobody ever come to tell me what’s going on until I asked! Well, after an hour’s waiting, they told me the dentist was with another patient and won’t be able to see me within another hour! What’s the point of making a 4pm appointment for me if you can’t see me until 6?? You think it’s the worst part? No! After an hour’s wait, they finally told me that the dentist I made the appointment with DOES NOT WORK TODAY, and the ones who do work today are NOT in my network! I was scheduled to do fillings and tooth extraction in the same day, but was told that the dentists working today DO NOT do extractions! They didn’t tell me anything in advance! Not when I arrived and checking in either. If I didn’t ask, they would probably let me wait for 2 hours, charge me the fees of out of network dentists, and oops, even you waited and paid more, you cannot get everything done today! What’s the point of confirming with me the appointment if it doesn’t exist?!
So I just left smith dental in Athens to get a cap for a tooth I had a root canal on. My tooth had shifted due to a length of time going by before going in after permanent cap had been made and so it didnt fit. I was seen by Dr. Paul Ahn who made phenomenal effort to try his best to shave it down which didnt work, however he made a new mold and placed a new temporary one in. He was excellent. Fast and precise ..excellent. We talked, laughed, and overall for a dentist visit was very enjoyable. Im aware of a video and some negativity about him( not trying to downplay their possible experience) but for me he was amazing. I know word of mouth can make a huge impact so there is my experience with him. I will be going back directly to him in 6 weeks!
This was my first time here and I am not sure if this was normal but this will more than likely be my last time. My appointment was at 4pm and I arrived at 3:45. I observed the waiting room was completely filled and I could hear several people murmuring about the long wait. I was not called back until 4:35 and once in the back they did half if my x-rays and then a 15 minute wait. They returned to finish the second half of the x-rays and then it was a 20 minute wait for the hygienist. So I spent about 1 hour and 45 minutes waiting to have my teeth cleaned. I came here to save me from a 30 minute drive to the other side of Athens and in turn cost me even more time. The cleaning was good and the dentist arrived to inspect quite quickly. I just didnt like being one of at least six people disappointed by the hideous amount of waiting it took.
I had my Ortho consult and start yesterday and couldnt be happier! They were able to fit me in earlier due to a no show appointment which was great but I would not expect that everytime. They are a large and busy office but so worth it. Katelyn was my ortho assistant and she did an amazing job as well as Dr. Smith between explaining everything, answering my questions and putting my braces on. Im so glad I started my braces journey here.
Amazing place. Amazing people. Keisha in the call center is hilarious and such a huge help. The staff was kind and very caring. One dental assistant even wiped my tears bc I had to have a missing tooth in the front of my mouth put back in. As embarrassed as I felt and looked?, the girl told me Im beautiful regardless of my teeth. They made time for me knowing that I had to be at work that night. I found my permanent dentist!!!
Had my ortho visit today! Everyone was so polite and explained everything that was going to happen. The doctor was very kind and friendly. Definitely recommend Smith Dental they are busy so sometimes you have to wait, but that’s everywhere medical. Thanks Smith Dental Ortho and staff!! Willy and Dr were amazing!
I scheduled a cleaning with this office for July 3rd.Upon arriving I was greeted by wonderful smiling faces as they also continued assisting clients ahead of me.After my information was collected they called me to the back and within 30mins I was walking out with clean teeth and recommendations on future treatments along with my 6 mo checkup date.Talk about great service!!
Very efficient place. My appointment was 8 am and they had a full house but got me in and out for a routine cleaning within an hour. Also the hygienist was very informative! They also have great hours and will take you on Saturdays and Sundays. I have been going here for 2 years plus and I would highly recommend them.
The wait it too long. They book too many people at one time. I am always there at least 3 hrs or more. My mom was there the other day for 4hrs. I understand they have lower cost but it’s unfortunate that they have no respect for the clients time. It also seems unfair to the dentist as they have to deal with unhappy clients. I have gone there several times & been told 3 very different things about the same tooth by 3 different dentist. It’s also a pain to get them to sort out what my insurance will pay for and won’t. One day it’s one thing and another day a different thing. I will say the front desk and other employees are nice there. There is a new dentist and he is nice. The two I saw before that were rude and short. It felt like they didn’t have the time to be bothered by me. Thx
Im still having horrible experiences here. My dental work for permanent implants started with a consultation in November 2020 and was sent to the Hartwell office to Dr. Harris because he was the best for what I needed and everything was going great until I was supposed to go back in April and he was no longer working there and I had to return to the Athens office which I thought would be okay because its actually closer. Problems started immediately with not having my dental parts needed not once, not twice but 4 times and this last time after being worked on for 4 hours and I was sedated with Valium so I was not very alert but I thought everything had been done correctly until I got home and my bottom implant popped out of my mouth and I was in excruciating pain. I immediately called them and first was told to wait until I come back in July on the 28th and I told them I couldnt go even a week like this and it was his last day working this week so then I was told to call back in an hour and see if hed had a cancelation. Well I called just a little over an hour and no appointments available and was asked if I could wait until next week and there was no way. I was in so much pain and discomfort and couldnt stand anything touching my mouth once I was numb. She put me on hold and went to talk to the doctor and they finally agreed to let me come back right away. Then the doctor came in and made some adjustments and filed down the pointed edges that had cut my tongue so much I could barely stand to even talk and then told me that I wasnt set up for permanent implants which threw me into another anxiety and panic attack because I know what I had signed up for and am paying dearly for. I told him what it cost and he said to let him check on it. Victoria M. and Jenn both came in and said that it would get straightened out by my next appointment but Ill still have to wait yet again because theyll have to redo the impressions with the screws in place so that the right implants come in. I just pray that with everything that Ive been put through that this will be made a priority order with urgency and the fastest shipment time in their history. This has effected me in so many bad ways but Im going to give them one more chance to get things not just right this time but perfect with complete satisfaction. I do appreciate Victoria M. and Jenn promising me that they will be personally responsible for making sure everything else is there on time and goes smoothly. Ive missed both grandkids graduations, several family and close friends funerals and not to mention the effects its had on my personal life. No weddings church or dating because of this. Ill update the results of my next appointment. In the meantime Im homebound and cant eat anything except soft food because of the pain. I dont know where the mix up happened but I wish Dr. Harris was still there or that Id been given the option to have my money refunded and gone where someone like him was comfortable working with my mouth and bone problems. 🤔
This has been the absolute best place for a dental checkup that I have ever been to. They are so welcoming and friendly. My dental hygienist Fanny was very informative and amazing at her job. She kindly answered all of my questions and didnt make me feel criticized like others have at other dental offices. I highly recommend visiting this place if you havent already.
Today was my 6 year olds 3rd cleaning. She had Susan and Susan was so wonderful!! Susan explained every tool that she was going to use and even squirt a little water in my daughters mouth for fun. Susan is like a long lost friend that you have been missing and aching to see. She was very thorough and extremely patient. Love her to death!!
My review would be higher if they did not send me a message at 12:00 at night. I think thats pretty late to be sending out text messages. Now my rating as far as the building and staff begins now. Very nice people, well maintained office. It was pretty much flawless as far as cleanliness goes. Things seem to move along pretty fast!
This is by FAR the largest dentist office I have ever been to in my life. They actually have two sides of the building. My wait time was minimal. Lots of people there, employees and patients. Staff was professional, courteous, and kind and knew their jobs. I went for a cleaning and eval, received both in a timely fashion, got to watch some TV (This Dog or something like that?) and got my bill. No charge. Nice. My only two complaints of the whole experience is 1. The apparatus they use for localized x-rays is hard and uncomfortable in ones mouth, and 2. Some patient was having a mental break while I was there causing quite a commotion. Not the offices fault, so I cant fault anyone but the strange lady. So all in all, a pleasant experience for something not too many of us look forward to doing! What I really like about this place is the building is large because they can do ALL things dental at this location. I do mean all. One stop shop. Check them out!
Was scheduled for extractions of my wisdom teeth and Dr.Singh states, oh they didnt refer that out to an oral surgeon. Had my vacation days scheduled out for this and everything. Oh well, thanks for having great communication in your office! Now this doctor refused to fill my cavities right after this convo. Great personable skills there Singh! I waited an entire hour for him to come into the room to tell me I was to be refered out and then assumed I didnt still want my fill ins so he walked out with an attitude.
This was our first visit at Smith Dental Care. Our experience was excellent! Hamilton was our first point of contact and his excellent customer service and warm smile, made our initial visit extremely pleasant! He directed our every step while completing the necessary paperwork and assured us that everything was going to be “just fine” after he noticed our anxiety level rising due to our unfamiliarity about the insurance. Ultimately, everything worked and turned out “just fine”. The dentist was very professional and prompt. The staff assist us were all very professional and kind. Five star establishment hands down!
The staff there are friendly and focused on making sure the patients have a great experience. Also, its very beneficial to our family that theyre open on Saturdays! Special thanks to Ms. Fannie for her amazing hospitality! Thank you Smith Dental for your hard work and dedication to be great!☺️
I had a terrible toothache over the weekend. I finally googled emergency dentist in Athens and found Smith Dental. I went in at 5 pm Sunday 6/14/21.The office is very nice as are all of the office staff. My dental assistant whose name was Jasmin I think, (I was in extreme pain) was terrific.I was in the chair when the first dentist came in and he was behind me talking to the assistant for what seemed like a long time about his work schedule. Finally, he got around to me and poked around on my tooth, got up, and told the assistant that I would get prescriptions and be rescheduled for an extraction another day. I must have expressed my distress at being sent away at almost 7 pm, with 2 prescriptions I could not fill because pharmacies were already closed. The next thing I know another dentist came in, looked at my tooth, and said he could do the extraction. The assistant and office staff called around and found a CVS that was open until 8 pm. So my friend who brought me went to fill the prescriptions while I got my tooth pulled.I went back to the chair, the second dentist came back and said lets get that bad boy out. 60 seconds later it was out. I could have hugged him!Once you go in the back, it sort of has the feel of an assembly line which I imagine normally operates like a well-oiled machine. But in the end, my tooth got pulled and I left happier and in less pain than when I got there.I would definitely go back as long as I dont have to see that first dentist again who wanted to reschedule a simple extraction for later dental surgery.
The staff is great, from front desk, to dental assistants, hygienists, and Doctor- all top notch and friendly. Here is my main concern, I have had to wait over 30 minutes to be called back for my scheduled appt time. Something very disconcerting about rushing to be on time for an appt, and then waiting over 30 min to be called back. It is disrespectful of my time, and it is clearly due to overbooking the office.Update 5/21/21 I went back to get my permanent crown seated today, and my appointment was for 1 pm. Again I had to leave my work responsibilities to be respectful of my appointment time. I was finally called back at almost 2 pm.One woman was very vocally calling out the receptionist, because apparently someone who walked in after her was called back before her.I asked to speak to Kristy, the office manager I met on my first of 4 appointments since March. She was wonderful, gave me her card but she has not been there on my three subsequent appointments. Another manager did speak with me, allowing me to voice concerns, that the overbooking of this office to clientele who have appointments and are paying precious funds for dental care is extremely disrespectful of our time and commitments. If anyone from the office reads these reviews, what if any, is the plan to remedy this ongoing problem?Perhaps a doctor should be scheduled daily to handle walk ins and emergencies, from what I see, another doctor could probably stay busy all day with that alone, thus keeping clients with scheduled appointments ON SCHEDULE.
I have never had any issues at this office! I just had another teeth cleaning today and Fannie was so awesome I requested her for my next one. She was so informative, personable, sweet and made my teeth feel super great. All of the staff here is always pleasant and they always answer any questions I have.
Appointment was at 4pm and didnt get called to come inside until 4:30. My husband and son were seen first and I sat in the area that my son was in for his cleaning. Everything was good with his appointment and my husbands appointment. Then came my turn. The cleaning started out nice, even though it was an hour after the appointment time, until the hygienist started scraping and getting my gums every time. Then in the middle of the cleaning, the doctor came in (because he wanted to leave for the night), told me about a couple things that popped up on the x-rays and then the cleaning continued. A normal cleaning for me is 30 minutes. NOT an hour! I had to wait for the treatment plan before I could leave. The inconsistency with the cleanings and not seeing the same doctor every time is why my family is going to go to another dentist from now on. I left extremely frustrated due to being at the dentists office for a total of 2.5 hours.
This is the best dentist i’ve ever been to. Everyone here is so kind and they take such good care of you. They treat you like family even if it’s your first time here. They are mindful of your comfort and make sure you aren’t feeling any pain or discomfort. They also have a Spanish speaking staff which is very helpful and made even more welcomed. Overall, I would recommend them over and over and over again. There is not a better Dentist office than Smiths Dental Care.
I called and you said you would work my 4 year old daughter with broken tooth in. Thank you. While we waited for 3 hours to be brought back no big deal. Your practice knew the issue and age. We came because you had treated her before on a weekend from an injury. Now today you don’t want to touch her just refer her. Well if you would have been honest when we arrived I would be able to get my daughter treated at a real pediatric dentist not having wasted my time for a dentist that has no balls when it comes to treating patients!
OMG! The best dental office I have ever been in. I broke my tooth, thought I was making an appointment with Smith but it was someone else. Smith was able to take me as a walk in and got me all fixed up within an hour. Excellent customer service and the dentist and his assistant was so kind and patient with me. I love this place.
I went in for x-rays on my teeth and found out I needed root canals and crowns , up until the day I was molded for crowns they kept switching my dentist and I was uncomfortable with that I continued to ask them why? They gave me an excuse as to why my dentist was switched anyway I got my crowns they was big the dentist ended up filing my bottom teeth saying my bite was off, after receiving my permanent crown one fell out and I called them they ain’t want to repair it so I was in an up rage ended up getting it repaired and it’s fallen out again mines you not I got 4 crowns and one is out and the other three are very loosen . I got my crowns in February 2021 no way they should be fallen out or loosen in August 2021. Went to another dentist to find out smith dental filled my original teeth’s down to far leaving a small pieces of teeth for my crown to cover and they tried substituting it with a post which isn’t working out as they planned it to so my current dentist is trying toredo the work that smith dental did and it’s so frustrating fixing there screw up 8,000 on dental work that has gone bad , fallen out and loosen and destroyed my original teeth structure. Worst dentist I’ve ever went to and thing is a good friend had the same experience before me and tried warning me but I didn’t listen now I’m stuck paying more money to another dentist to fix my crowns properly.
**UPDATE**I was able to get my root canal done today. Was told when I went in there that the nerve was partially exposed. When I got home, I called your office and said that I would never be back and that I wanted my $ refunded for the crown work that I was forced to pay up front for. I was told this wasn’t an option. I have since called my insurance company and my credit card company.*Original Post*As far as getting your teeth cleaned, they are great. As far as fixing your teeth, not so good.My first time there was on an emergency for a cracked tooth. The first time I was there for this repair, the dentist watched the TV more than what he was doing to my mouth. I had to go back the next day to get it fixed. When I went for my cleaning, I was told that I had a silver filling that might go bad and start leaking and it should be replaced with a crown before I have any problems. Now, I wasn’t having any problems with with tooth, no pain or anything. So I agreed to have it fixed. Well, the dentist couldn’t get my tooth numb, mouth yes, tooth no. Sent me home with antibiotics and ALOT of pain. When I came back the other day, it was a different dentist. It took them 45 minutes to figure out what needed to be done. When I tried to explain it to them, I was told “that’s what you say, but we have to go with what the notes say”. But apparently, the notes didn’t tell them. I told the dentist straight up that if he didn’t think he could do this to refer me to someone who can sedate me to get it done. He said the nerve was very close to where he would be drilling, but that it should be ok. Well, he couldn’t get me numb either. After drilling for several minutes, told me I needed to go have a root canal. So now here I am, SEVERE mouth pain from a partially drilled tooth. Difficult to eat or drink. The tooth has sharp edges that my tongue keeps rubbing up against every time I swallow.I wish he would have just left it alone and referred me. Now I’m waiting weeks with a tooth that has a partially exposed nerve to get in for a root canal on a tooth that 3 weeks ago wasn’t giving me any problems. They also have ABSOLUTELY NO CONTINUITY OF CARE. I see a different dentist every time I come in there. They spend more time reviewing my chart on what needs to be done than what the entire procedure should take. Will be looking for a dentist that not only has continuity of care, but won’t be afraid to refer you to specialist.
The staff is nice and helpful! I went there twice. The first time I was in so much pain I couldnt hardly stand it and they found out I had an infection of my number 17 wisdom tooth. So they wrote me a prescription of antibiotics and 800 mg ibuprofen... The Ibuprofen didnt do anything for the pain so I stayed in pain for a couple days until the antibiotics kicked in. Then when I went to my second appointment to extract the tooth I waited maybe 15 minutes in the waiting room then they took me back numbed my whole face and I waited for the doc to get done with another patient took about 30 minutes. Then it was in minutes he had my tooth out and I was on my way back home.
Smith dental is very professional and very friendly! When I first went there for a deep cleaning I was very afraid because I’ve had deep cleanings before and they were very painful. But Smith Dental did a great job with applying numbing gel before the anesthesia shot, I didn’t even feel the shot. I was super comfortable during the entire cleaning and the hygienist was very awesome in communicating with me. Totally recommend!
Smith Dental is probably one of the best dental practices Ive ever used. Thanks to them I have some beautiful front teeth. All the employees are wonderful all the way around. Im very nervous when going to a dentist. When I go now, they always make me feel comfortable and not afraid. I would recommend them to everyone. Thank you so much for all you do my friends at Smith Dental.
I am a patient of Dr. Nomi. I cannot say enough good things about him. He is very professional, knowledgeable, great bedside manner, and also sense of humor. I have never been to a dentist that made me feel at ease. The entire team at Smith Dental has been extremely accommodating, professional, and friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Nomi without any reservations.
Not only is this dentist convenient to me, they are the best! There has never been a time when I arrived that Hamilton wasnt greeting me with a smile. He is always very courteous and professional. Tiffany cleaned my teeth, taking time to ensure I was doing okay during the whole process. Her gentleness and caring touch took any anxiety you may have away. Overall the staff are the best group of people I have met!
Extremely annoyed with Smith Dental. Scheduled an appointment and called to make sure my partner could take them since I strained my back. Got the Okay from them just for them to tell him no at the appointment! Bc of HIPAA🙄 Even after speaking to me they still wouldn’t! Was trying to avoid this exact situation and wanted to get this handled before school next week. Now they’re telling me they’re booked til the end of the month! Swear some businesses are just NOT IT.
Update: Of course anyone with braces for the first time would be frustrated when things arent going right with them. The first day my braces were applied, brackets came off. My complaint was what if I would have swallowed them. Since then nothing has been going right. Today they decided to take the bands off and issue me and refund after the assistant lied that she was cursed at then she came and Apologized but didnt go tell them she was wrong. Total fine Ill go elsewhere but you wont play in my mouth .
My recent experience was both professional, thorough and yet delightful. I received the information necessary to continue my treatment. I shall be contacting Smith Dental to make an appointment to fix my issues. Thank you very much everyone. I look forward to seeing you SOON!!
I usually get anxiety about going to the dentist but not anymore. First of all the staff is so professional and courtesy. Whatever issue you may have everyone is there to put a smile on your face. Dr. Nomi technique in putting my tooth to sleep without me feeling anything, magnificent. So if anyone is looking for a new dentist with professionalism give them a call you will leave with a smile.
When I arrived for my appointment it was about a 30 min wait to be taken back. When I got to the back to get my cleaning Ms. Harrelson did an amazing job cleaning my teeth. I was seen by Dr. Smith he didnt say too much when he walked in. Looked in my mouth spoke to the dental assistant told her what to tell me and walked out. I never saw him again. Genesis up front was very helpful, I loved that she was bilingual it made the process so much easier for me when it came to choosing a treatment plan.
I just went in for a cleaning. The hygienist, Fanny, said I needed a hearing aid. I wonder what are her qualifications to tell me that? After cleaning my teeth Fanny let me look at them in a mirror. There was a dark stain between my front teeth. She said it was dentin bleeding through & that she tried to remove it but gave up on it. The dentist didnt mention it. I couldnt believe he would let me leave with exposed dentin. At home Ive been brushing with Optic White Renewal. The stain is gone!
I took my 10 year old daughter there to get her teeth cleaned and to see the dentist because she has 2 teeth 1 on each side that the new tooth is pushing out and coming out the side of her gums so her baby tooth needs to come or be tooked out . So we wait for the dentist to come in and look at her teeth and tells us she has no cavitys but them 2 teeth needs to come out but and told us to keep working on pushing them out and leaves out the room and the lady cleans my daughters teeth and makes her 6 months cleaning appointment and i ask her so what do i need to do if we cant get the teeth out that the dentist says needs to come out and she said wait maybe 6 weeks or till the next appointment and see! Like really what was the whole point of going there if they cant or wont do anything to fix the problem! I left and called back and canceled the 6 months appointment because i will be going to another dentist to fix the problems! But they just lost that appointment and 3 other ones i was fixing to make for myself and other 2 kids!
I appreciate the caring treatment today from the staff at Smith Dental. I came in pretty stressed and even though my root canal was no standard walk in the park, I felt Dr. Elerson was calming and I appreciated his explaining all the steps taking place. I was grumpy about loud music in the waiting area when I arrived ( I have never experienced this before at either office) but by the time I left I was calmer and had more confidence in my treatment plan. Even when I complained about the vulgar music choice playing so loud , they were not rude but listened ( did not change it but listened politely) . Next time I might bring my little ear plugs lol...just in case. I am grateful for their hours and kindness.
This is absolutely the worst Orthodonic dentist in the area I highly recommend that you look around before you sign up! They never follow thru with anything for example today my son had an appointment there was an issue with having his braces removed ask to speak with the office manager(Gabriella ) she was to busy with someone on the phone they said so when I got home I called and ask to speak to the office manager(Gabriella ) an low and behold she was too busy but promise a call back of course I didn’t really expect one nor did I receive one I got this text message instead asking for a review ! This place is a joke
Im new to Athens, Ga relocating from Jackson, Ms . I was looking for a dentists and my brother recommended Smith Dentistry. I went on google checkout a few reviews and made my appointment . From my first appointment to my third appointment today April 5,2021 I am overly pleased with the entire crew !!! The treatment if the staff and doctors are beyond pleasing . Thank you Smith Dentistry my dentist away from home 😚
Let me start off by saying my Five stars are NOT for the office staff!I had a routine cleaning done. I’ve been here three times now and this particular cleaning was the best I’ve ever had anywhere!!Lori did a fantastic job and made my experience very pleasant and comfortable. Smith Dental Care is very lucky to have this young lady.I will only see Lori going forward.
Professional and accurate service! My new crowns look AMAZING!!If you pay your medical bills in cash like we do, Smith Dental doesn’t look at you like slimed into their office. They give you a 5% discount!William and Selene & Kendra took care of me today and I was completely at ease. I knew I’d be OK!!!
Very nice and friendly people working in this dental office. They’re there to help in anyway they can to make you feel special. The doctor is nice and place is always clean and neat. I will refer anyone who is searching for a dentist. No long wait, they get the job done, thanks so much for your generosity!
I had two temporary crowns put in on September 12th one fell out a few hours later. So I got appointment the next day had it fixed. It fell out again the next day call to get appointment told me it would be Sunday before I could get appointment. That is 5 days away and this is in front. So they said I could walk in and wait ever how long. I had already waited 3 hrs Sunday before I got done😫 I have had quite a few crowns put in at other dentist offices and never had this problem!!!
Today I was seen for multiple extractions. I expressed, to the employees working, about my sever anxiety. They were great! Kristy, Genesis, and Cierra checked on me several times. My assistant was Victoria M. She was by my side every step of the way!! She talked me through my anxiety, and was very caring!! Dr. Elerson, he was great! He listened, and was very in tune to my anxiety. He handled it with great experience! Kristy made sure that I had ALL of the support I needed, and made sure I didn’t feel self conscious. It is hard to have the anxiety I have, and go to appointments where you are made to feel comfortable, and not embarrassed. Smith Dental Care handled me and my needs with such kindness. I have never been in the middle of an anxiety attack and been shown such kindness! I will always recommend these people. I understand some people have to wait sometimes. But the reason honestly is that you can not rush perfection!! This will always be my choice for great, professional, knowledgeable, kind, and most importantly sanitary dental care!
My experience at Smith Dental is always great. Today I was met with a friendly greeting by Daphne, Kendra and Calley. But the highlight of my visit is always getting my teeth cleaned by my favorite hygienist, Tiffany!!!! Shes the best!!! Well, I may be a little biased because she is my little sister. Lol!
Had some fillings yesterday and a cleaning today. Low prices I could handle. Dr. Smith did the fillings without talking too much so I wasn’t hanging out with my mouth open for too long, which makes me sore. My hygienist, Karen was great and was really conscious of my sensitive teeth so she waited to let me rinse until she was done so I was not getting my sensitive teeth blasted with cold water the whole time. I do not love going to the dentist, but they helped make it bearable. Thank you
I pretty much came in to be told whats recommended on my next visit. I was expecting a cleaning but I got x-rays and an estimate for future work. Ive been here a few times and I wouldve normally given 5 stars but I felt my time was wasted a little bit on this particular visit. Im sure it was probably because of the timing of the appointment. Thats what I at least hope it was. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE !I went back on May 6th and got exactly what I came for. I got the deep cleaning done and it went great. Youll feel some stinging from the needle and some discomfort afterwards but it doesnt last long. Ill go back in a week to get the left side done. I encourage you to get this procedure done if its recommended. Great job Smith Dental, go see them before the tooth fairy comes to see you.
I went to smith dental believing I had a cavity in a molar and to file a slight chip on the front left tooth to be even with the right. The first appointment went fine they were polite and straight to the point. I was told I had 3 shallow cavities in my molars and to return the 17th to get them all taken care of and my front two teeth evened out. came in, and they had no idea what I was there for. That I wasn’t on the system for that day. I understand that mixups happen and so I just rescheduled for the next week. I came a week later and they were going to only file the left front tooth, which now had a cavity? I told them that both teeth needed to be filed. Also there was no cavity in the front tooth it was in the molars. So again they had no idea what I was there for. They came back with the dentist and told me they wanted to preform another X-ray. I told them that it wasn’t a good Idea for them to work on my only set of teeth cause this is the second time they had no idea what I was there for and they were about to do a cavity procedure on the WRONG TOOTH. The dentist didn’t say a word to me instead looked to her nurses to speak for her. I was told by one of the nurses it was a miscommunication on “MINE AND THE DENTIST PART” to which I responded “no it was a miscommunication between the dentist and the dentist” please do not go to smith dental they are not professional and do not take accountability when they mess up.
Horrible at scheduling. I went to start my ortho and I was told it would only take 2 hour so I should allow that much time. I had to take off a few hours of work to be at this appointment. It’s a hour into my appointment and I’m told that we had a 2 hour slot for you but I won’t be seen for another hour. So my appointment was at 12pm here it is 1pm and they are telling me that I’ll still be waiting until 2pm or longer…Plus the 2hours I’ll have to be in the chair. Poor scheduling and I work in a dental office there is no reason my appointment should be two or more hours off its scheduled time. Yes I know things happen with procedures but not ortho that’s just crazy.
My first experience here was a great one. I received a nice thorough cleaning with the hygienist. I also got a consult with one of the doctors who was very knowledgeable about other services they could provide. Overall I had a great experience here. The entire staff was very kind, and I hope they continue the great work.
I absolutely love this dentist office! Everyone was so nice and explained everything to me even when I asked more than once they had so much patience and were so kind. The doctor was also very knowledgeable and got straight to the point the office was impeccably clean and the staff was all helpful every step of the way. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs dental help they offer payment plans and that is so important because not everyone has dental insurance and for those that dont, this place will meet your needs.
This was my first visit to Smith Dental and I must say I was very impressed. The staff members was very friendly and welcome. And the staff make sure that I was comfortable before, during , and after the procedure. And I was very impressed with the privacy that I had while waiting for my procedure to take place. I will definitely be going back in the near future.
Simply put, They dont have time every time I make an appointment, they give me one for the filling but this is the statement I received yesterday. So I have been seen twice for the same one tooth, problem still there, diagnosed by two different physicians, neither had time on both days that I went but you know how to take money and bill insurance. Will not be going back. Nicest at the door only gets you so far. Quality of care is not there.
My hygienist is Great. My only issue is the doctors do not follow protocol for patients who have had knee replacement surgery. For the remainder of our lives we are required to take low dose Antibiotics before any oral procedures. This is the second year that Smith Dental refused to provide this service. Without these Antibiotics, I put my life in danger of infection. I have never had this issue with any other Dental providers What is the issue?
I love this place. I was absolutely terrified my first visit but the dentist and staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed the dentist didnt hurt me and has done a great job pulling my teeth. I have one more visit to get the rest pulled and receive my dentures... This dentist is my new best friend
This place is absolutely amazing!! The dentist is my number one fear and usually my heart goes crazy and i have anxiety attacks. They worked with me and it was the best experience ever! The staff was amazing and treated my whole family with respect and kindness!!! We will 100% be back again! I highly recommend this office and their staff!!
The first visit was great but then the visit to get my teeth pulled was horrible! Had an older dentist named James, do Not use him! His hand was so shaky that the nurse had to help hold his hand to do injections then he would grab the tooth and end up breaking it into several pieces. Leaving pieces in my gums. He was extremely rough and took 3 hours and didn’t finish! I couldn’t take the pain anymore and had to leave. Came back and saw dr Patel and told him all this. They did X-rays and I have a lot of broken pieces still in my gums and will possibly need a bone graft now all because of the horrible dentist. I wouldn’t send my enemy to this guy, he’s literally that bad! Will update when I go back to get the rest of my teeth pulled.
It is operated in a very unorganized way. Especially at the front desk area. Check in and rescheduling appointments is done in an unusual way.. My biggest issue is with their charges an insurance application torwards services. I simply do not trust them. I have conflicting charges on how much insurance obligation vrs me personally. I feel theyre not straight forward with me and intentionally misleading me. This is from my experiences only. You should visit and see for yourself. The dentists, assistants and hygienists have been some of best Ive experienced. I have no complaints in that area.*******Update on May 12, 2021*******I returned to Smith Dental today to get my permanent crown put in place and complete my root canal / crown procedure. All went well. My new crown inplace ,adjusted perfectly and I was returned to front desk to complete the checkout process.I mentioned in my initial review how I didnt trust them on insurance coverages and this is a prime example why.I was given an estimate on 4-5-2021 for a root canal and crown in the amount of $2934.00, also told that insurance portion was $1233.00 and my responsibility was $1701.00...I went back for the root canal & crown on 4-15-2021 & was told from anotherSmith Dental Receptionist that the total for my root canal & crown was $1615.00, she stated that $310.00 was insurances responsibility and $1305.00 was mine. She stated that I must pay my portion and the insurances portion upfront Andy insurance would send Smith Dental payment. But it was my responsibility to call periodically and check with my insurance provider and verify when they paid the claim..She stated once my insurance paid Smith the $310.00 I could call Smith Dental and they would reimburse me. BASICALLY MAKING SURE UP FRONT SMITH GOT THEIR money REGUARDLESS OF INSURANCE. SO I left a passified man expecting to get $310.00 returned. I called my insurance on 5-12-2021 and the C.S. agent stated that no one has contacted them for estimates , approvals, or any claims or funds whatsoever this calendar year! Last records of any contact was in March 2020! (my previous dentist.)So everything Ive been told and given was a straight( up lie. How were my estimates created? If you guys never contacted my insurance. Where did the estimate numbers come from? I feel as if I was intentionally misled into thinking I wAs getting a refund of $310 .. when clearly I wasnt because Smith Dental never even started a claim!!!!!SI was told by a Smith Dental financial coordinator that she billed my insurance as a courtesy to me. That I must follow up with my insurance to verify when they posted payment to Smith Dental.
From the first visit to my visit today I’ve been more than pleased with Smith Dental. Everyone is professional and very friendly. Though Dental work can be uncomfortable at times they make each procedure as easy and painless as possible. I highly recommend Smith Dental.
This is a great place to go take care of your teeth. Elizabeth Rodriguez was very professional and did a great job, I felt that I was in good hands. She was very gentle and kind to me, and explained very well what was going on. Definitely made the best choice by choosing them for my Ortho care. Thank You Elizabeth and Smith Dental care team!!
I’m pleased to offer my review of Smith Dental. About 6 months ago, I was referred over by an employee who loved their experience. When I arrived, I found the office light, friendly, trending music playing and a wait time of about 5 minutes. The examination, radiographs, cleaning and oral exam by Dr. Smith were thorough and timely. And Yes, the fee was surprising—$59. For those sake services at my previous dentist, I would have paid $200+. Fast forward 6 months to my follow up appointment, which was last night at 18:30. Friday evening.....who offers that? I didn’t have to take time out ofMy office to get my teeth cleaned for the first time in almost 20 years. When I signed in, Hamilton greeted me with a professionalism that you cannot train. He was engaged, genuine and actually suggested that I mention to the Doc about a small cosmetic concern. Hamilton stayed “I bet it won’t take him 2 mins to help you with that”. Tatiana brought me back and worked me up. Since we were both March birthdays, we exchanged quite a few pleasantries. The cleaning was wonderful and I did ask Dr Smith if he wouldn’t mind grinding down a little chip that bugged me. He didn’t hesitate and 70 seconds later, it was fixed—it would appear that Hamilton May have under estimated the good Doc’s talent. When I checked out, I thanked everyone and sat in my vehicle thinking “WOW, these guys have it together.” So it is with no hesitation that I offer my recommendation to Smith Dental.
Smith dental has been wonderful! My mama doesnt have dental insurance, but they still saw her and treated her with respect. They didnt try to charge her outrageously for their services either. Dr. Smith has been the one to see each time she has gone and has been kind and didnt make her feel bad about the condition of her teeth, instead he told her not to worry it wasnt as bad as she thought. Hamilton at the front desk was super kind while I waited for her to come out. I have two young boys who do not sit still! Instead of making me feel as though they were tearing up things or an inconvenience he talked to them and told me not to worry he loved seeing happy kids running around. I would recommend Smith Dental to anyone!
I came to this dentist office with major teeth problems. I left this dentist office with my smile and my confidence back. Dr Smith is such a Honorable dentist with staff that will make you feel so special. Ex to the beautiful young lady that stopped what she was doing to help me with my balance I thank you so much. Hamilton was always helpful and kept a smile on his face. There are no words to describe what these special people did for me. So professional and my work was completed with no complaints at all just look at my smile.
I recently came in for a cleaning at Smith Dental in Athens. This was my 1st time there & I had a great experience. The ladies in the front Selene & Kendra was so nice & made me feel very welcome. Tiffany did a great job cleaning my teeth & Victoria made the Xrays a breeze. I will definitely be back!Tyler Hanley
Ive sat in the waiting room for 2 hours only for us to be looked over. Then ended up having to reschedule one child because it was to late for her to be seen. Looked over it. Had my son chip filled in...came off in less than 24 hrs. Paid a total of $700 out of pocket for me and my sons crown to be put on. My sons permanent crown has fallen off and they still cant get my temporary off to put my permanent on. Its hurts so bad. Ive went to the office 3x to get it off and havent rescheduled yet. Im giving the stars for the new clean facility and flexible payment plans. I never see the same hygienist there. Its always new staff. Thats says a lot to me.
I took my four year old daughter for a cleaning at the location on Hwy 29 just now, and we were very pleased! The sweetest lady named Tiffany cleaned her teeth, and she was so good and gentle with her since my daughter was a little afraid and hesitant. Tiffany was the best! We just loved her! We were so pleased with the friendly staff! On the way out, the receptionist kept waving at my daughter and making silly faces at her, which made her make silly faces back and laugh! My daughter came out of the dentist smiling and happy! I did, too! Thank you!!! 😊🦷
I’ve been going to Smith Dental for a little over 2 years now for ortho and dental. Always great service and great atmosphere! As far as my dental cleanings, 5 stars all around around. I always receive a great hygienist. Not so well with ortho. When I first began my braces, I was seen by a different person every time. Each time, they didn’t seem to know what the last person did or what to do next as far as my braces. This is very frustrating because I feel this confusion prolongs my process. I’ve had my braces for more than 2 years now which was only estimated to be about 18 months. However, I was paired with Maria who was consistent, knew exactly what to do at every appointment and was determined to get my braces off. I scheduled all of my appointments around her schedule and only requested her for ortho but lately my appointments have been mysteriously changed WITHOUT notice and now I’m back to the inconsistent, prolonged process of multiple people working on my teeth and not knowing what they’re doing.
They did a fantastic job on restoring my granddaughters smile. The service that was being done was explained before hand so we knew what to expect. No long waits. I would recommend Smith Dental Care to everyone. They greet you with a smile and take care of all your dental work at a reasonable cost.
I went to the Hartwell office in March 2020, I saw Dr Harris I had two teeth that needed to come out but I didn’t have the money upfront to do it and they don’t do payment plans. Dr Harris was nice enough to write me a prescription for antibiotics for the infection I had and they didn’t charge me for the visit. I went back yesterday to see Dr Harris to have the same teeth pulled and he was so nice and compassionate. He was very knowledgeable with what he was doing and how he was doing it, he was very understanding and understood that I was upset and hurting. His nurses (especially Renee,I didn’t catch any of the other girls names) were really nice and helpful as well and were very good at trying to comfort me and keep me calm during the whole procedure. I have never been to a dentist and not felt them pulling or pushing on my teeth when they were doing the extraction until yesterday because when Dr Harris pulled my two I never felt anything except him giving me the novacaine shots. I told him that I filled out the form online for someone to contact me about an appointment and I never got a call and when I couldn’t get in touch with anyone over the phone I contacted Breanna at the Athens office and she was very nice and scheduled my appointment for me and he was going to speak to someone about not being contacted or answering the phones and he wasn’t happy about that at all and thanked me for saying something (I didn’t want to get anyone in trouble but I needed to make an appointment but couldn’t get in touch with anyone). I will be going back to Dr Harris at Smith Dental in Hartwell and will refer others to him I’m very happy and pleased with his staff and his work.
Exelent service since you get in , ladies in the desk ready to help, dentist good guy , but the lady who help the dentist made me feel really fine even that im afraid nedles etec, never feel really well whith other dentist, thank you so much for your patience and kind atencion Lizeth and all smith dental care staff.
Dr. Smith and his staff Hamilton, Selena, Jasmine, Christina they were wonderful. I was in and out in no time. I recommend anybody whos having any dental problems go see Dr.Smith he is the man with the plan. If I have any more dental problems I definitely will be going back!! Thank u Dr.Smith u were wonderful 😄!!
I had a very long wait to go back for my appointment approx 30 minutes but otherwise the consultation was ideal they did my x-ray I met the dentist (dr. Sing) he evaluated the complaint of tmj and determined I needed a specialist due to the severity, then looked at the tooth that was bothering me and sent someone in to tell me what the cost would look like (approximately $200 less than other dentists with my lack of insurance) and we scheduled when they will do my fillings and I will then start the payment plan they offered me. The bigger the down payment you make the day of the work done on your teeth, the lower your monthly payments.
Today was my first time going to Smith Dental Care. Everyone there were very polite. And the receptionist was very polite and he really help me a lot.I will be proud to tell peoples about this place. Thank you so very much Hamilton !! Im so glad I came to Smith Dental Care, because I hadnt eaten in 2 days and with the antibiotics and pain pills they prescribed now Im eating wonderful again thank you all
I have been coming here 6 months. I havent had any problems. Hamilton is my favorite person there. He knows me by name and always has the nicest things to say. The orthodontic team is great. The hygienists are great. No complaints yet from anyone there. Awesome place. If I cant see them in Athens the hartwell office is very accommodating.
My appointment was 2pm, I waited for an hour to be called, I was totally forgot by the front desk lady. I noticed that the assistant/nurse and tech used the gloves from their pockets to examine my teeth. I dont know how many times they reuse the same pair of gloves, it worries me.
After all these years of going to the dentist, smith dental is by far the best I have been to and most friendly , I had ms. Fannie do a clean up for me and some tips on how to keep my teeth and gums in better shape , and I appreciate that very much looking out for her clients !! If you ever in need of a clean up I recommend her she made me laugh and made me have a good time while I was there !!Can’t forget about her assistant yoana doing a good job on my teeth scans making sure she got every angle on my teeth ! She will make a fine dentist!!
The dental hygienist I saw was very nice but everything else was VERY disappointing. During my exam staff kept coming in going through cabinets to get things. The dentist was nice but not thorough. He came in and said a couple sentences and then just tried to leave without explaining anything. He didn’t really care just wanted to get to the next patient. At the end of my visit a different dental hygienist went over his treatment plan, never explained why I needed the prescriptions or anything. Just told me to get them from the pharmacy. Then wanted me to pay for his other recommendations that he never even explained. Will be looking for another dentist.
I recently swapped from a former dentist to Smith Dental on US-29, Athens. The staff was very kind, helpful, and efficient! After finishing a short amount of paperwork, I was quickly taken to the back where my dental hygienist, Tiffany Lewis, took care of my teeth with the utmost TLC. After my visit, I immediately booked an appointment for my wife. Thanks, Smith Dental! You guys are a great addition to the Athens community
Both of my children were seen at the Athens location just a two weeks ago. I cannot say enough positive things concerning our experience!! A clean and well organized facility, coupled with a warm and friendly staff, makes an all-around pleasant visit for the entire family! A week after my youngest daughter had braces placed, we had a broken bracket. I contacted the office and they allowed me to drop in and with express purpose, fixed the bracket and had us on our way! We are thankful!
Simply the best. I had a terrible toothache and was able to get an appointment on Saturday evening. Turns out my teeth were in bad shape and I needed about 4k in emergency dental work. Not only was I able to have the oral surgery done the next day (on a SUNDAY), but the dentist and the staff were super nice, patient, and I was even extended a payment plan which was a blessing as Christmas is in a few days.
Had a cleaning today and had a great experience. Alyssa took my xrays, she was very friendly. She made the uncomfortable experience fast and as easy as possible. Gretty did the cleaning. She was very gental and gave me some great advice on dealing with sensitive teeth. Genesis from the front desk was very helpful. She explained what I was being charged for and explained my insurance policy. All around a great dental office.
My name is Tasha Henley, and I’m 40 years old. I came to Smith Dental based off of the reputation of this dental office. My service, thanks to Everyone was spectacular. Hamelton is such a pleasant person, I can’t say thank you All for ur sweet and smiling faces. It really makes a difference!!!! To the young lady that handled my billing concerns I was so very great full for you to Stop what you were doing to look up my account for me, And she fixed my concern before I even left the building. And lastly, Dr Smith is such a professional dentist. Caring and listening to me was such a wonderful bonus from Dr Smith!!!!! Oh and my Smile is so beautiful. I cant stop taking pictures. Thank you all for making this the best dentist office.I have ever been to in my life!!!
So far they are pretty good. I had 3 extractions at the same time. I havent had any complications so far and Im healing fine. The assistant Jessica really did a wonderful job fitting me for my partial. She made sure I was comfortable. And if something is not right Dr. Smith will make sure it is done correctly.
Excellent service late in the evening, so I didn’t have to take time off work to take my family to the dentist. Very accommodating & respectful of child with special needs. More affordable than my old dentist. Beautifully decorated & comfortable waiting area. Office staff are super friendly & helpful, especially Hamilton.
I needed a dentist on Saturday. Google search provided five but non were actually open. Upon more searching I was blessed to find Smith Dental Care. They made me a same day appointment and not only fixed my problem but put me back on the road to good dental health. This is a total dental care facility open twelve hours a day except Tuesday and Thursday with the best in equipment and personnel. Thanks to the dedication of front desk expeditor Hamilton and Hygienist, Ms. Fannie, I am proud of my teeth again. X-rays and examination by Dr. Smith himself completed a wonderful visit. This is where you need to be for dental care. Patient, Dwight Bennett.
Monica , Christina, Hamilton and Dr smith is the greatest ever! They were very accommodating to the MAX!!! THIS IS THE BEST DENTIST HANDS DOWN!! So if you are nervous about needles or any procedure please give them a try! They honestly work with you to the best of their ability!! The wait time is ✨!! Customer service at its best! 😊
I called Smith dental care of Athens for an emergency appointment they did not let me down they took my insurance and I was called in pretty quick this was after I left work at 6 I was so happy to get in I had a swollen face they were very profesional and the dentist proscribed some antibiotics for my tooth infection and gave me options on what to do after and information on where to get it pulled out and get an implant I was so relieved loved this place
This will be my family’s dentist from now on, today was my first visit, (on a Saturday) was dealing with a dental emergency wow, there was a welcoming vibe Immediately. All the staff was soooo polite even the Dr. Smith omg I know god will keep blessing him and his staff, I can tell that he’s passionate about his profession. Can’t wait to tell everyone, Smith’s Dental most definitely is your go to!!! Thank you guys for being so dedicated.
I have nothing but great things to say about this dental place. My experience today was phenomenal and my fears were eased with the friendliness of the great staff. Everything was explained as we went. Highly recommend. My hygienist Tiffany was great, she made time to conversate with me and not just see me as a chart number. 2 thumbs up yall.
Worst dental office I have ever been to. I had to wait for an hour and half, even if I have already an appointment. The staff was not smiling, the dentist was super RUDE, did not even present himself, I have never experienced this kind of very mediocre service. You cant rely on new shiny place to do the job for you!!!They presented me with an overpriced quote, and when I said it was too much, they double checked and they were oh sorry, that was a mistake, the quote is actually half what we told you the first time, like really, what if I didnt say it was overpriced, you would have charged me that. I refused to do the treatment then, and today Im receiving a bill with over 200$, seriously! A completely non professional dentist and staff. I wish I can give 0 star!!!
I haven’t been to the dentist in 8 years. (Yes I know way to long) I was nervous about being judged for the state my teeth were in. They were nothing but kind. My hygienist (I believe her name was Tammie) was kind and explained everything to me. She wasn’t rude or judgmental at all. I can’t wait to go back and finish my treatment plan.
I had my first appointment at Smith Dental in Athens and was so impressed with their customer care and hospitality. I saw Karen, and her personality and service was outstanding. I had such a great experience, and I definitely recommend Smith Dental of Athens to anyone looking for a good dental experience.
Update: The manager reached out to me. I went back to Smith Dental Care and waited to speak with the manager. She went over the instructions with me on how to use them, replaced the gel tube I used, and also gave me an adapter portion that I had been missing.I consider myself a nice person, and this is my second negative review that I have ever left somewhere in my life. I have a tendency to just let things go, however I am very frustrated with Smith Dental Care right now. Do not get me wrong they have GREAT hours, location, professional set up, and some pretty amazing staff members (shoutout to Ms. Fanny and Ms. Tatuianna)! However, they can be VERY disorganized. My second appointment with them was for a fill in and mold for whitening trays. After arriving and waiting for 30 mins to an hour I was told that they orthodontist was not scheduled to come that day so I would have to come back. Why was my appointment scheduled on a day where the right staff would not be there? Then after rescheduling and taking care of the molds and fill in I was told my bleaching trays would be ready in the next week and they would give me a call. I patiently waited, because I understand that things happen. After two weeks, I decided to call back and check. When I call I am usually on hold for 7-10 minutes. They said they were still not in yet but had just gotten a shipment in that day and would call me when they arrived. Again, I waited. It ended up being over a month since my molds were taken that I finally called and said no this is too long I am moving soon I where are they. I waited to speak to a manager who then started to question if I even had molds done or had selected to get bleach whitening trays. UM you cannot forget getting that yucky cemet shoved down your throat lol and also I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR EVERYTHING. Then they finally call back and tell me they found them and I can come get them. FINALLY. I arrived later that day and patiently waited for the trays. I was told the manager herself would meet me but she never came out to speak with me. I was sent home with the trays and a paper they said would have instructions on how to use them. Yeah....so turns out that paper was only a FAQ sheet and did not explain how to use them, how long to keep them in, how often to do it, NOTHING. After frantically trying to Google how to use them I decided to just try and figure it out myself. Well that did not go well. I ended up using too much gel (found out later via Google) so it was overflowing in my mouth and irritated my gums. Now I am down a gel stick, had a horrible/stressful night trying to figure this out, and my teeth are not ANY whiter :(.TLDR: Smith Dental Care has its perks. I have even recommended several friends to them some who have even went, but after this experience I take it all back and they are just not worth it.
Went in for a free consultation and said I needed a root canal. Explained that they took my insurance. Gave me a quote for 2100$. Went to another Dentist. Got everything done for 700$ without needing root canal. Yet they have convenient times. They are not very informative about insurance coverage. Not to mention got a bill for charges from my insurance company that they said was free. So that money came out of my dental insurance coverage for the year. Never ever going back.
Do not go to this dental office. They are paying people to say that they are excellent. I feel for it. They first told me they would give me $50.00 off my bill then tried to change it saying they only told me $25.00. I had to keep calling the business office for them to fix it. I am not happy with the root canal they performed. I was prescribed an antibiotic and I was allergic and I called them and no one ever called me back. They are negligent. Do not go to them. They have in house financing but they dont tell you that they charge extra administrative fees.

2022-02-20Had a great experience today at Smith Dental of Athens. It was my first time with Dr. Ahn, who was great and took his time explaining my options for treatment that would be cost effective. I truly appreciate that being on a tight budget. Sheena the treatment coordinator was excellent helping me arrange the payment schedule and Morgan was amazing with the tons of impressions she had to do for my treatment. Thank you all so very much!

2022-05-18I cannot say enough about this office. They were so exceptionally wonderful in their treatment of me in an emergency (walk-in) situation. They are truly my forever heroes. Each and every member of their office was kind, courteous, caring and efficient. My extremely painful emergency was handled with the utmost care and concern. Dr. Smith was fast and very attentive to my every need , and everyone very gentle with me. I cannot thank them enough, and I absolutely recommend this office. Thank you a million times over for the extended hours , without which Id have been left in pain , and without treatment. A special thanks to Dr. Smith, Tamara , and the entire wonderful staff. All my thanks, Cassandra (Sandie) Kesler

2022-08-05I recently went to Smith Dental the Athens location in late June because i had a broken tooth that i needed to be extracted. The tooth was broken so badly that it felt as though it was going to break further at any moment leaving the nerve exposed. Fearing this would happen and therefore leaving me in tremendous pain i was urgently attempting to get the issue addressed. Unfortunately, Smith Dental had to refer me to an oral surgeon group to have the extraction. The oral surgeon group had 10 locations. Willing to travel to 8 of the 10 locations I was told I needed another consult but it would be months be for I could be seen. Then after the second consult the oral surgeon would see about performing the tooth extraction. I then called back Smith Dental to find additional support on a resolution to this issue. After the rep explains she totally understood my concerns she let me know she would call me back in 24 hours with some options. Good thing I did not hold my breath because it has been a month and I have never been called back from Smith Dental by anyone..it would never recommend Smith Dental. They clearly are interested in profits over patient care.

2022-04-13If I could give zero stars I would. The wait is terrible, my daughter got braces the doctor has only seen her maybe twice in 2 years. They are all about the money instead of treatment. Dont give your money away for someone to practice on you. Never again!! Smile Doctors is the best try them, great service they care about you. You see a doctor every visit, experienced workers.

2022-08-19If you have a payment planned with this Place , please make sure you keep up with it. This lady name Becky is so unprofessional. People are talking about how they bill and you pay as well. I had work done on Feb 2021. Started payment plan on March 2021for 18 months. They file my insurance in 2021. They only received around $30 because insurance would not pay for the same tooth twice. In May 2022 they file again while I am still paying on the payment plan and receive a little over $300. Why are they filing again. I have not been in this for service since Feb. 21. As Aug 2022 I had met my obligations of paying it off so I thought. Now this lady name Becky who was so sarcastic and very unprofessional is saying I still owe. I have call my insurance company and made a complaint. I am waiting for Smith Dental to debit my account. I refuse to let this backyard Dentist Place cheat me or my insurance company out of money. BECKY you might have laughed today but It won’t be long when you have to explain to the insurance company.

2022-06-02Complete waste of time. I called to make an appointment for my 5 year old daughter to get two fillings. The first thing I asked them over the phone was if they could do fillings for children. They said yes and scheduled an appointment. At the appointment we waited 30 minutes before being seen. They then did a cleaning even though I told them that she already had a cleaning last month at our other dentist. After the cleaning we waited for 30 more minutes for the dentist. The dentist came, barely looked at my daughters teeth and told me they dont work on children, they only do cleaning for children and said they needed to give me a referral. I tried to explain and they cut me off and talked down to me. Dont go here. They just schedule cleanings to charge insurance and dont care about anything else. They will lie to you over the phone and disrespect you in person.

2022-04-14If you choose to set up payment plan. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND KEEP UP WITH YOUR PAYMENTS AND BALANCE. My balance doesn’t seem to go down much and in the last 2 months has only gone down minimal. I ask the total twice and get different numbers. You have to constantly ask for a Statement. I’m very unhappy with the service provided that I’ve had to pay a fortune for. A partial that broke another tooth that they did nothing about though their Dentist said that’s the reason it broke. They’d be happy to fix the problems for $3500 dollars more. I’m now seeing another Dentist to deal with that. This has been a nightmare.

2022-08-11My daughter received Orthodontist care from them and first off they are very unprofessional. On several occasions they have rescheduled my daughter appointment due to their lack of staffing and fail to contact me until the last minute. Secondly how your staff going to question my daughter about a payments . Thats something that should be discussed with me the adult. Third. Their general manager Mike can care less about whats going in his office because he failed to return my call about my concerns so I know he havent addressed anyone else. Shut that dam office down. If I knew what I knew nowI would have never spent my money .

2022-07-24Went to Smith about 4 years ago. They ran up the bill for the work performed, maxed out my insurance and I paid a lot out of pocket. On my last visit, the dentist drilled in to my mouth before it was numb and it was extremely painful. I decided it would be my last visit. They told me when I left my balance was paid. Moved, don’t even live in GA anymore. Several years later, I get a call from a debt collector because Smith wanted another $500+. Never received a call or e-mail from the office, they just sent straight to a debt collector. Avoid this place.

2022-06-07I only went here once and immediately looked for a different dentist, I had a bad experience. I feel like a lot of the staff was fresh out of school and very inexperienced, especially the tech who took my x-rays, she had to redo them several times. I was on the fence about getting x-rays taken at all and asked if I could only get a cleaning, the office manager came in to talk to me about it and was very pushy about getting the x-rays done. Finally, the new dentists office I found contacted them to get the records and x-rays sent over, they did not send them. The new dentist contacted them again when I was in for my next cleaning and said they very rude about it on the phone.
