Hidden Falls Cabin at Fightingtown Creek Road, the cabin was very enjoying, great amenities the overall decor of the wooden cabin feel and creek. Although pretty pricey the experience we had with the lack of service from Southern Comfort Cabins was a 1 star. We immediately notified them when we arrived that the back entrance look was not working forcing us to walk up the property down 30 steps to access the front entrance to be able to go downstairs to open from the inside. Trying to do this without any lights in front of the house, we had to carry flashlights. The following items were reported to Southern Confort Cabin -1-no lights front entrance2-no lights in back patio, or ceiling fan3-no lights leading towards the creek going downstairs4-missing shade on door in lower bedroom5- missing shades in dining room (4)6- toilet not flushing master bedroom7- lightbulb above kitchen sink missing8- electric keypad not functioning on door9- toaster handle missing10-dusty in downstairs bathroom11- Trash cans not emptied (2-4 were full upon our arrival).Items 1,2,3,7 and 8 were requested to be repaired as all were a Safety Hazards. Day 2-1st attempt someone came out to review the repairs (nothing done) Day 3-2nd attempt the next day we called again someone else came out (stated that the front porch had a wiring issue and brought us a box of bulbs for us to install) I replaced 1 bulb in front of the gentlemen to show him there was no wiring issue and showed him the toilet issue. Day 5-2 days later we stopped at their office in Blue Ridge to verify why it was taking so long. We explained to the secretary the night before my husband slipped on the stairs trying to open the front door without lighting injuring his knee and was swollen. She sent the gentlemen that night and brought the bulbs for the front door and came the next morning Day 6 to repair the toilet. No other items were repaired during our stay. We were left with the impression that the Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals has no interest in resolving any of the maintenance services as they are not the owners of the Cabin. These were the issues we had during our 7 day stay at the cabin we were so looking forward to staying at for our Christmas Vacation. I do not recommend Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals.
Our Family stayed 3-6 Dec it was first time getting away with my Daughter and my 4 year old Grand Daughter and 18 Month old Grand son...That alone was Priceless! Not be selfish but this Cabin is in a Perfect Location to watch Sun Set, Sun Rise and around 9 am the Deer run by flashing their Tale!Despite the Fabulous Lodging location, accommodation and responsive staff their is more!Blue Ridge is Beautiful a Quite little town full of energy and excitement. Shopping, Food and 4 Hour train ride! Its not like Yellowstone which is one way ride they are Round trip!Ill be back because I wasnt able to fine time for Hot Tub out back by Fire Place.P.S. The Food oh my!Definitely 5 STARS!
I had many issues with the cabin starting with check-in. I arrived at blue ridge and request an early checkin, I was told to call back again because room was still being cleaned. However cabin was not even clean at check-in!! In fact, it felt as if no one had stayed in the cabin for months. It was dingy and had a slight odor. We got to the cabin 30 min earlier than check-in and no one was there. I requested a call to let me know when I could check-in since we arrived at 12 noon and never received a call. Ive been going to Blue Ridge for 15 years and used other companies such as Mountain Top Cabin Rentals and Escape to Blue Ridge and never had any issues like this. In fact, I never needed to contact after-hour guest services with those companies. After my 4th call of issues, I felt like I was bothering guest services but half of my issues were never resolved. I organized this trip and promised my extended family the amenities you offered. Im extremely disappointed at the lack of the basic needs such as towels, blankets, proper beds, pillowcases, and working fireplaces. These should not have been issues, especially for the price I paid. The cabin did not have enough towels and blankets for 13 people. My wife and I had to use our robes as blankets. Walls, light fixtures, stairs had thick gray dust. 2 bathrooms had mold stains around the showers and walls. It was as if no one stayed there for a long period of time and was never cleaned. The air was stale and had an odor, the basement had cheap flooring that is pealing up near the bathroom. 3 beds AND ALL pullouts sofa beds were NOT clean or in any working order to even sleep in. They were dirty and stained and extremely old and VERY uncomfortable!! The bedroom with 1 single and 1 full bed both have extremely thin old mattresses that had only coils. It offered zero comfort, so much so that some members had to sleep on the couch. It was quite embarrassing to bring my 13 family members to stay at his cabin. 2 of the indoor heaters had broken ignitors. The first night was very cold without those heaters. The toilet on the main floor needed to be plunged the first time day we got there. The toilet seat in another bathroom was old and dingy. The pilots in both indoor fireplaces were not working. A Tech had to come out to clean them because the fireplaces kept shutting off after just a few minutes. The cookware was lacking. Cookware were cheap, dented Teflon pans, where most of Teflon were scraped off from multiple uses.. I had to drive to Walmart to purchase pots.
We absolutely loved Feather Ridge. We were looking for a relaxing vacation and thats exactly what we got. The property is beautiful, well maintained, and had everything we needed. The king bed in the upstairs bedroom was amazingly comfortable and we slept better than we have in years. The view from the balconies is gorgeous. The weather was not great during our stay but it didnt matter. We were content spending time at the cabin. The gas fireplace got a workout as we used it regularly, hot tub is nice, and the pool table is in great condition. The outdoor firepit is very nice as well. It is a pet friendly property which was a bonus for us. While there isnt a yard to run or play in, the balconies all have gates on both ends so we could keep our dog outside with us without worry. The cabin is in a community and neighbors are in fairly close proximity which concerned us at first. However, it turned out to be a non-factor. The homes are arranged in a way that you really dont notice neighbors. It is a short drive to downtown Blue Ridge - a nice little town with shops and restaurants. For those who have to work or at least check email on vacation, the internet worked well and there is good cell service at Feather Ridge. Our experience was perfect and we would most certainly return to Feather Ridge. In addition to loving the property, we were impressed with Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals. Their staff answered my initial inquiry online and more detailed questions by phone. I was torn between two properties and the agent was very helpful and patient, providing all of the information I needed to make a decision. The check-in, check-out process was a breeze. We had no issues but knew help was just a phone call away if needed.
The main living area (kitchen, dinning, and master bedroom) were great. Perfect layout and very comfortable. The downstairs was a bit musty and damp with older carpets and less attention to quality. The stairs could be challenging to negotiate as they were very short and steep but they have a gate which is a plus!Bedrooms - the beds were ok probably could use updating the mattresses.Loved the air hockey and book collection! Loved the porch! Lights were labeled so it was easy to control.Overall we would recommend it as it was good experience for a family gathering.
I have used this cabin rental company several times and have always been treated professionally and courteously. I have also never encountered any issues at the properties I have stayed in. We have enjoyed all of the cabins we have stayed in with them. This time we stayed in Amazing View and it is a very nice cabin. Large and spacious, decked out in typical cabin décor, there were plenty of towels, TP, soaps, and kitchen clean up supplies. There is a hot tub, a gas grill, washer and dryer, pool table, multiple TVs, and a fire pit. The location in Mineral Bluff is close to everything. We spent time in McCaysville, Blue Ridge, Helen, and Chattanooga, TNWhat there is not is a place for kids to run around safely, nor for anyone to walk around on the property. It has very steep drop offs all around and while the photo of the fire pit appears to have space around it, it really doesnt. Otherwise, there were no complaints and the view is amazing and beautiful. Sunsets are gorgeous too.
Over the last 2 rentals and over $8,000, both properties had broken/non functioning major appliances causing extreme inconveniences. Both houses were beautiful and super luxurious, but bad experience overall and not worth it.Non functioning ice maker in the first home and when we called to the office they said it worked. Come to find out it was uninstalled and under the kitchen sink. Couldn’t drive to store because it was 3 miles down the mountain then another 20 minutes away. The dishwasher was broken, the mattresses were in extremely poor condition (one bedroom had ripped sheets) and the windows leaked in a second property, the following year. The staff and owners knew about the dishwasher being broken and should have let me know in advance.I’m sure there are probably OK properties, we just had two bad ones and bad experiences. Received a credit the second time equivalent to about 10%.
Everything was fine at this cabin. However the company communication was unnecessarily relentless. They “reminded” us to check out so many times it was overwhelming and left a sour taste. Service was in and out in the mountains and every time I checked my phone I saw messages about checking out. It didn’t feel welcoming at all.
I used them years ago and they were good.So I thought Id use them again. I look up a cabin in the low $120 a night range and thought great price for 5 days... $600 range right? No. After taxes and required fees it was close to $1100.00! I have no idea how they get away with this, if you fees are required you put them in your nightly price. Sales tax and rental tax is different. Changing almost $100 a night in extra required fees is misleading and dishonest.
I had a great experience with Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals. About three/four months prior to rental weekend, the cabin I was in was sold and taken off market. Southern Comfort worked with me to find a replacement location and no additional cost. The new location was even better than the original and our friends and family had a great weekend. I dealt primarily with Amy who was a dream to work with. Dont be shy to ask for her personally. The house was as promised. It was clean and organized, and the whole team was very communicative. Highly recommend.
Had an amazing girls weekend at one of the properties. Prior to arriving, the staff was happy to answer any questions and every email was very detailed. The 10 of us fit so comfortably and had space to enjoy it individually if we wanted. The hot tub, fireplaces, and views are definitely some of the reasons we’ll be back.
We rented The Bears Den cabin, mostly everything was great. The huge issue we had was not being warned about the driveway, extremely sketchy especially at night. It made us not want to go out as much. Another couple of issues we had was that there were a bunch of cobwebs inside the cabin, part of the shower was broken, the fan was extremely noisy, and there were stains all over our comforter. Other than that we did enjoy our stay in Blue Ridge.
This rating is multifaceted. The first category I will evaluate is Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals as an organization. The rating is 4 stars. Booking with them was simple. Using their maintenance service for a clogged toilet was simple and reliable. The customer service was 5 stars. The people I spoke with were pleasant, communicated when they said they would, and ultimately resolved the issues I had as best they could. For these reasons I would book with Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals again. Now for the reason they overall rating is 3 stars. The cabin itself (Pates Escape) gets 2 stars; I give it 1 star for a good location and 1 star for a nice outdoor space. The rest of the cabin gets 0 stars. The inside was dirty with heavy dust and spider webs all over the place. The main bedroom does not have a queen bed as advertised, but a full. That bed has yellow stains on the mattress and is broken. The pull out bed in the loft is also broken and has yellow stains on the mattress. Most pieces of furniture in the cabin are broken, worn out, and dirty. The entire cabin is dated and is in need of updating. The area rug in the living area is burnt and dirty from the fireplace. The supplies in the kitchen were greasy, old, and worn out. The oven and dishwasher were covered in filth on the outside. Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals does bear the responsibility of the cabins condition, they are the managing company. DO NOT rent Pates Escape without checking to see if changes to the cabin have been made. I have attached a few photos to this review. Overall I emailed 14 photos of dirt, dust, spider webs, and broken/worn out items in the cabin to Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals.***** It should be noted that the company did address all of the issues/concerns I had with my stay. Once they were notified of the problems they quickly made it right with great customer service and an agreement on a future stay.******
The cabins are beautiful well kept and as advertised. The service from Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals once you check in is non existent. We had not power in the outlets of the Master Bathroom and attempted twice to have the problem resolved. Was told they would get back with me. My call even returned. My wife had to do her hair on the floor of the bedroom all week.UPDATE:I was contacted by Southern Comfort and they apologized for being unresponsive to out request. I feel like our situation was not the normal business practice for the company as all my dealing with them have been very honest. I would rent from them again.
Love this rental company. Have stayed with them 4 times now and have never been disappointed. From their customer service team to the after hours maintenance crew, we have never dealt with anyone who hasn’t been helpful and courteous.Homes are always clean upon check in and represented well on their website. What you see is what you get. Well maintained, quality homes. We will only rent from Southern Comfort for our trips to Blue Ridge.
We stayed at the Blue Lake Cabin for Labor Day weekend. The cabin was easy to find and well maintained. Close to a lot of activities and gas/grocery. The decks were filthy and had to be cleaned before we could enjoy that but the house itself was great! Well stocked with TP and kitchen appliances. Would do it again!
We stayed at Sassafras Lodge as an upgrade after our original booked cabin was sold. The place is truly beautiful and was roomy enough for three families. We each took a floor. Our only complaint on the rooms was that the main and bottom floors only have Queen beds, instead of Kings. Our original cabin had all King beds. There is plenty of seating in the living room areas. Kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need for cooking and grilling. Indoor and outdoor dining areas are a plus. The kitchen sink faucet was hard to use and we never could find the hot water.Lights in the living room went out after day two and we could never get them to work again. Possibly a blown fuse. It wasnt a huge issue though, as we used the lights from the kitchen. Also, lights came on randomly every evening in the middle of the night in the upstairs bedroom. Its either a ghost or the lights malfunctioning!Outdoors is beautifully landscaped. Hot tub, fire pit and grilling areas were fun to use. We also sat outside on the comfy grass to just enjoy the outdoors. Attached gameroom was fun to use.Property is very easy to get to with just a short gravel drive from the main road. No winding, narrow roads to navigate. The distant mountain view is perfect! The only suggestion I would have is maybe a Welcome book to give some house details on the hot tub usage, lights, etc. Also maybe include some local restaurants, attractions, etc.All in all, this is a beautiful property with everything you need for your vacation. The owners really put a lot of thought into everything you will need for your stay. Would love to come back and stay again!
The house and view was beautiful! The kitchen was well stocked and we had all amenities we could need. We were located right in the Aska Adventure Area where just a few short drives took us to the trailheads for mountain biking (well, we ended up pushing our bikes a bit since these trails are quite technical) and hiking. The quaint town of Blue Ridge was just a few minutes down the road where we enjoyed dining and wandering. Great getaway spot!
GREAT HOUSE & AMAZING VIEW - Service could have been better, but complaint was responded to, see below. We absolutely loved the panoramic view from the cabin “Heaven’s Step’ - it was awesome! The house is very comfortable, with more decks & balconies than we needed. Hot tub has its own separate deck. Great for 2 couples. The only negative was that the kitchen light was missing, and the people who stayed the week before us had complained about it also. It was still not fixed when we came. It was lying on the floor on the lower games level. We had to use a flashlight to see well enough while cooking dinner & loading the dishwasher. My first call to the management company was ignored & no one ever called me back. After my second call, in which I said having no light in the kitchen was UNacceptable, I came back to find a floor pole lamp sitting plugged in on top of the kitchen counter. It provided sufficient light but was totally tacky. At no time did the company even call me. This was extremely poor management in my opinion, and unexpected on a property like this.Never was contacted from Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals - there was zero follow through. But we really loved the house & location. What a view!————— Follow through———- 7/16/21 - I’ve updated my review, and changed it from 2 stars to 4 stars because the company followed through after my review and contacted me, apologizing for the poor customer service. They said what happened to me is not the way they run their company, and they were working to make sure it wouldn’t happen again. They also offered me a discount on a future stay, which is standard good business PR.Who knows, I might take them up on it next summer because we really enjoyed the place & also there were other things I didn’t have time to do while we were there.
We loved Are We There Yet! It was very welcoming and had a very warm, cozy atmosphere. The wonderful selection of games introduced us to a new one that has become favorite - shuffleboard. All of the outdoor activities we chose in the area were so much fun. The restaurants we chose were much better than we could possible expect. The long weekend was a great birthday celebration with my grandchildren. Many wonderful memories made, including how to drive on mountain roads.
We stayed at the the tranquil woods cabin. 3 households came back home with bedbugs. Had to go through a 3 week, $700 treatment drying and packing all clothes and disassembling all beds, all 3 times before weekly treatment (a HUGE inconvenience as a working, single mom ) & here they come saying pest control did not find anything in the cabin. No one has time or the money to be dealing with bed bugs. Funny that they took nearly a month after the report of bed bugs to let us know pest control didnt find anything. I think its absolutely disgusting that they dont want to own up to what really happened to save a little bit of money, which is a lot of money for me. Please do your research before you rent from these cabins. The bedbugs were specifically in the beds on the second floor of tranquil woods. Please save yourself the trouble and dont rent from them. Disgusting.
We stayed in the Southern Star house and it could not have been more amazing. The views were perfect and the house has everything a family or group would ever need. If you are looking for a mountain house close to downtown Blue Ridge, then I would highly recommend looking into this place!
We stayed at Happy Trout Hideaway in Mineral Bluff. The great views of the creek inspired me to choose this cabin over others. But others might have been better! The views alone could not mitigate the negative experience. In our cabin search criteria for a quiet getaway, the hot top was one of our top wants. But the hot tub was broken. We informed a staff member as soon as they opened the next day, but nothing came of this. Im just glad we had this annotated early in our stay and were not charged a fee for the broken hot tub! Also, the water in the upstairs shower smelled like a dirty fish tank. Perhaps it needs a new filter. Whatever the cause, it made me want to rinse off and get out of there as fast as possible. While the balcony off of the bedroom provided yet another great view, the queen bed was lumpy with palpable hard springs. The poor back support caused us both to have back pain and restless sleep.
LOVE THIS COMPANY !!! My goal is definitely to stay in every single cabin they own! I travel a lot & our cabin was definitely my top 5 vacation rentals! We stayed in Whippoorwill Calling - Mineral Bluff about 3 weeks ago & omg.... the view 😍! Granted, there were minor issues but nothing big enough to take away a star. The trash was full when we arrived, along with not being enough toilet tissue & towels but there were plenty of blankets & cooking pots/pans/utensils! I loveddddddd that every room had an exit-to-outside door/balcony. Fire pit was lovely, but did have trash inside of it already. The hot tub was lovely & peaceful. I didnt want to leave; 2 days was NOT long enough. So many places outside to sit/lay that I tried to get a chance in every seat 😂. There were flying bugs that kept getting inside but Ive never been to a cabin in the woods that doesnt have an issue with this so no big deal. Very dark, rocky, narrow, scary road to travel to the property but once you get there youll be blown away! WILL COME BACK VERY SOON!
Stayed in a remote cabin in Mineral Bluff...they werent kidding when recommending a truck or SUV to get to the cabin. It is a 1 lane gravel road with lots of twists and turns to get to the cabin. (I would not recommend driving it at night as there are no lights.) Cabin was very clean and insect free...hard to do in such a forrested and remote area. The views were spectacular. Very private and well stocked for cooking. Sunken hotub, gas grill, fire pit and 2 outdoor decks. We enjoyed our stay and so did our 2 little dogs.
We stayed in Mineral Bluff Ga. In whippoorwill Rd. The Cabin is beautiful inside and out. The Road is bumpy and Narrow. So be prepared for a bumpy ride.we seen a couple of small black spiders the skillets was stained and trash cans outside was full when we arrived. You may need to bring more towels. But that is not a big deal, i usually bring paper platescups, and plastic spoons and forks. And more trash bags. The Cabin is Beautiful!! Very CLEAN!! This cabin is more Beautiful than the pictures show. The view is beautiful., love the big room with the pool table. Lot of things at the cabin like a fire pit, hot tub, pool table, and plenty of games. A lot of parking space. Close to Restaurants and stores. Would recommend this cabin to Everyone and will definitely come back but for longer 2 days just wasnt long enough.the beds was very comfortable. love the fact that you can sit or step outside from all the bedroom. Will definitely be returning wish it could be sooner. Ive stayed at a lot of Cabins/ houses this is by far one of the best ones.. Anyone that go i know you will definitely love and enjoy it.
We were notified a month before our scheduled arrival date that the cabin we rented has sold and will no longer be in the rental program. Had we known the cabin was in a pending sale we never would have booked it. Rental agency knew of sale and did nothing to advise the renters of the situation. Now it’s too late to find anywhere to stay and our fall vacay is ruined!!! This is in response to Southern Comfort Cabins…. We were not offered 3 different cabins. I was told they only had 1 available cabin by a lake and it was 15 mins from town. We are interested in staying in town. I was told that it is within there right to do this as it is in the contract I signed. There was never an offer to help me find an in town cabin from another rental agency. No attempt to make it right….Buyer Beware!!!! Read your contract carefully!!! We booked this cabin at the beginning of July and we’re just told today about the cancellation when the date is basically a month away. I will never rent from them again!!!
Just wanted to edit and add another review as this past week we stayed at Hogback Haven. The pictures of this cabin don’t do it justice; it is absolutely beautiful, comfortable, and perfect for our family. Kids loved the arcade games and ping pong as well as the bunk beds on the lower level. The hot tub was great on cooler nights, and of course we enjoyed coffee on the decks each morning. The kitchen is amazing- well stocked and huge! A bonus for us- the owners must be Florida Gator fans like we are as there were Gator touches throughout the cabin. The property is only about 2.5 miles from downtown Blue Ridge but when you’re relaxing there, it feels like your in a treehouse. Thank you for another wonderful memory-filled trip SCCR; now we’re looking at schedules/cabin availability so we can schedule our next trip! :)We stayed at Mile High this past weekend (10/23/2020.) As a family of 6, there was plenty of room and the cabin was clean and well appointed with everything you could need. The fire pit, hot tub, downstairs level with air hockey and ping pong, and best of all, the amazing view from the decks made it a relaxing and memorable weekend. Only minutes from downtown Blue Ridge, Mile High is close to everything but offers privacy and serenity. Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals was wonderful; we look forward to booking with them again soon!
The cabin was absolutely beautiful. 3 floors and 3 king beds and 4 bathrooms. It was perfect for our memorial day weekend get away with friends. . . The place is quiet and peaceful. Hot tub worked great and so did everything else. They had a grill to use, ping pong / pool table , cards such as playing cards and UNO, and also poker for everyone to play with. TVs in Every room , which is GREAT!The instructions on what to do and what to clean before leaving where very easy to do and easy to understand.I would recommend to bring a few candles with you just in case there is bad weather and the power goes out, it happened to us on our first night but we all laughed it out and had sandwiches for dinner. I also loved that we could have access to washer and dryer downstairs in basement. Which meant we could re-use our towels for hot tub and showers.that being said.... the worst and only bad thing about it was that We found lots of scorpions.. They called to check on us after our first night and we let the lady on the phone know they had an issue . She acted as if she had no idea and stated they would send someone out right away. Nobody ever came. We dealt with scorpions every day. We all checked our beds, and ever time before we got up we checked the floors and couches. It is hard to be comfortable knowing you might get stung. It was upsetting that no one ever called back to check on the problem any further and no money was offered back or anything.Other then that it was beautiful and a great experience with friends. Us girls went out to BLUE COYOTE BAR and it was AMAZING! Drinks were perfect and customer service was great. We also brought corn hole boards and that was super fun on the HUGE porch!Edit: They have reached out to me on this concern and apologized. They are working to get the matter resolved and see what went wrong and why nobody reached out. The manager has been very helpful and super nice! I will use them again when staying in a cabin for future services! They care about you and your stay and make it noticeable.
I wanted a mini vacation with my family and this place did not disappoint. The cabin we stayed in (Away From Everyday) was absolutely beautiful. The view was amazing and the cabin was huge!!!!! My favorite part was the hammock on the balcony upstairs outside of the master bedroom. I would highly recommend getting a cabin here. I will most definitely be going back!!!
My husband and I just got back from our stay at Fireside Bluff and we miss it already. The cabin had just about everything you could ever need. I was worried about whether or not the kitchen would have every piece of cookware or utensil, but it had more than I could ever need. (Everything EXCEPT salt & pepper) The views were absolutely stunning, the deck was spacious and comfortable, and the hot tub was just what we needed. There are a few cabins nearby, but its still pretty private, and would be especially private in later spring/summer when all the trees are full of leaves. The only issue is that you can definitely hear people at nearby cabins. We had some pretty loud neighbors on one side and that was annoying, but they did quiet down at 10pm as instructed so we couldnt really complain. Dealing with the management to book the place was really easy too. They were very responsive in their emails and even sent a text. We will probably go back sometime.
Our stay was a family weekend for the 6 of us to celebrate our Mothers 85th birthday and should have been a special time. We stayed at Blue Jay cabin and while it was clean on the inside, the cabin needs a lot of maintenance. Sofa cushions are shot and need replacing. One bed had a broken bed frame and someone tried to rig it so that it would hold bedding, but it made so much noise every time you moved that you couldnt possibly sleep. Most of the glasses in the kitchen have cracked edges/lips. Only 1 chair down at the fire pit, which turned out to be a good thing since every time someone showered or we ran the dishwasher the septic system, which was conveniently under the fire pit, overflowed and bubbled up all in the fire pit. You could stand on the porch and watch it bubble up and flow all around the fire pit area. The hot tub took 2 hours to heat up to only 85 degrees (and who wants to soak in lukewarm water?). There are only outdoor dining chairs and 2 rockers to sit in on all of the decks. The zero gravity lounge chairs in the pictures are rotted were piled up on the ground level deck at the end of the cabin. The decks and what little furniture there was have not been cleaned off in years. There are two grills but one didnt work and the other was missing the grill grate. You need an exterminator because there are serious piles of sawdust from carpenter bees all over the porch decking on all levels. There were squirrels in the attic space and all you could hear in the master bedroom during the night were squirrels running around and scratching. We killed several scorpions each day in the terrace bedroom and game room. Its a shame to let such a beautiful place go into such disrepair. Its also a shame we paid $600 per night for this cabin. We did call several times Fri/Sat but no answer and couldnt leave a message.Follow Up 06-07-2021: Amy from Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals reached out to me and assured me that the issues I reported are being taken care of immediately She also offered recompense for our troubles & discomfort. Not many businesses these days bother to contact you multiple times to make thing right. I would consider renting from them again.
Ive stayed in their cabins before and it was great. My last trip on 4/16 was not great. cabin was way smaller than anticipated. river was not on the property. dishes still had food on them from previous guests. really bad smell from the downstairs bathroom. I do not recommend Toccoa Mist until they make some updates. also, the cabin is surrounded by neighbors and a loud road. not the mountain getaway i expected.
Fantastic cabin with an INCREDIBLE view! Our three story cabin was fresh and clean. We enjoyed the firepit and the hot tub. Access was very easy and close to all of the activities we wanted to do during our visit! Would definitely recommend this rental company to anyone visiting Blue Ridge!
The Cabin and the view was absolutely amazing. For the most part it was very clean minus a few coffee tables being dirty with leftover food etc. The biggest problem I have is the fact that the owners will consistently look at the ring device. I know this for a fact because of my extra pets that were not listed on this pet manifest for this property that supposedly allows pets. The penalty was applied and if thats how it works then I am at fault but that doesnt void out the privacy that you wish to accomplish when vacationing. Not to mention that you need a gate code to enter in the community...security is definitely not an issue...
Online reservation was easy to navigate. The staff was friendly and instructions to check-in were fantastic. We needed a few light bulbs replaced in our cabin and the staff was quick to respond. We enjoyed our stay at Drink Up The View. We were 20 mins from downtown Blue Ridge and got to eat at a local BBQ joint called Carrolls (a must!). Will definitely look to Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals for future getaways in the Blue Ridge area. Super nice cabin with accommodations and views to enjoy.Loved our stay with family and friends!
UPDATE: Spoke with Amy who addressed all our concerns regarding our visit and even though our visit was over I feel she listened to our concerns and was working to fix the issues for future visitors. The cabin itself (Black Bear Bungalo) was lovely and we did enjoy the different scenery and wildlife (lots of deer). No internet and took multiple days and calls to customer service to get a hot spot so never had actual full internet capabilities (and didn’t even provide the hotspot till the evening on our 3rd day) - a member of our party was supposed to be working from the cabin and was unable to do so resulting in lost wages. Talking to customer service was like running around in circles with no help until we asked to speak to a manager multiple times. Roads in poor condition due to heavy rains and we’re not provided any warning of this (suspect this is typical for area but if you are not used to mountainous conditions it can be difficult to traverse) and directions to property were poor. There was food under one of the beds - made me question cleanliness of the rest of the cabin. Pictures of cabin not true to real life and skewed our expectations.
We stayed in the Bearadise cabin. It was the perfect getaway weekend. The cabin had everything we needed and was located conveniently between Ellijay & Blue Ridge. The company was great about communicating before, during, and after our stay. We will definitely be using them again!
SOUTHERN COMFORT CABIN RENTALS IS OUTSTANDING!!!!! I have never rented from this company, however, I am a current home owner of a home managed by Southern Comfort. If I were to rent, I would ONLY rent from them. THEIR TEAM IS EXTRAORDINARY!!!! My family and I had to relocate to the other side of the country and we left our cabin in the hands of Southern Comfort. From the day we contacted them, they have been nothing short of EXCELLENT!!! They have teams and processes set in place to ensure every question is answered and every amenity is offered as they make serving the guests the priority. Though they are extremely mindful of the home owner, their goal is to offer the people who stay a first class experience. We have been away for about 6 months and they have handled all repairs, requests, and upkeep with great diligence. They are communicative when necessary, but reserve the right to make minor decisions in the interest of everyone involved. I dare say, they take care of the properties better than most homeowners would. We are SO grateful for the awesome team at Southern Comfort. Whether you are looking to rent a cabin or put your cabin in the vacation rental program, Southern Comfort is an AWESOME option!!!! Check out our live footage on our YouTube, Harpers Journey.
UPDATE 5/24/21Southern Comfort did reach out to us and express their apologies for the lack of response and issues noted with the house. In addition, they provided a credit to account for our inconveniences as well as an offer for a discounted rate on a future stay. I appreciate these steps and am raising my rating from 1 to 3 stars.-------------------------------Original PostOur last experience with Southern Comfort Rentals was less than ideal. The cabin we rented, Silent in the Morning, had issues upon check-in that were never resolved, but the main issue was the total lack of customer service provided by Southern Comfort. They really dropped the ball this time.1) The hot tub did not work until our last day. When we initially checked in on Wednesday, the water was a dirty brown color and 89 degrees. The maintenance team came out to drain and refill to try to resolve the issue. Although the color improved, it still remained a light brown and was very off putting. According to maintenance, it was technically safe, so our two daughters were FINALLY able to use it on the morning we checked out. My husband and I were grossed out by the color and did not get in. As far as the temp, we were told it would take about 4-6 hours to reheat, but since that process started on Wednesday and did not complete until Friday afternoon, there was clearly more going on.2) HVAC - theres only one unit and thermostat in this 3 story cabin. Therefore, there was no way for all 3 floors to be at a comfortable temp at the same time. My husband and I were upstairs burning up because the lower floor with our daughters was an icebox. This was a constant pain. Had we known there was only one unit, we probably would not have rented this property.3) One of the bathrooms had a make-shift shower curtain rod that was made of two differently-sized pipes put together with no tension. While my daughters were bathing I adjusted the shower curtain and the entire contraption fell into the tub with my daughters in it. While the pipes were not heavy, this is still a safety concern.4) The master bedroom bed had the wrong sized pillow cases. While this is a minor issue this should be a standard expectation. The house was very nice and had great views. What made this experience so awful was the management company itself. One of the main reasons we rented this cabin was for the hot tub. Since we didnt even get to use it, we expected Southern Comfort to take some kind of ownership and try to fix the situation. We have now been home from this trip for over a week and still have not heard from the manager. Each time, WE have initiated the phone calls and have been put off. Apparently the customer service manager has been on vacation, but this was never communicated to us. If they cared about their image and keeping repeat customers, Id expect better customer service. We will never do business with Southern Comfort again and urge anyone considering renting from them to think twice.
This company has sound detectors in their rentals, sleep 12 with only 4 parking spaces available but want you to spend 2700.00 to be quiet and not enjoy yourself for two nights. A cabin or home that sleep 12 people should have parking for at least 6 cars and you shouldnt have to worry about whether or not 12 adults are too loud during reasonable hours for adults. If I can spend 2700.00 for two nights surely I know how to act accordingly. Ill take my 2700.00 where its appreciated and wanted....
Overall, we had a good experience, the cabin is very beautiful and well maintained. We love our view from the master bedroom. Every room has their own private bathroom. There are three balconies, a lot of space for everyone. I only recommend to the management property to clean more in deep because there were a lot of dust in the ceiling fans, Tvs, bed headboards, to the point that we had to clean the first day before we settled in.
Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals is run by great people who run great systems. Every time Ive stayed at one of their properties, with family or on a company retreat, their service has been amazing and responsive. Not to mention the homes are always extremely clean. If you are a pay-attention-to-detail person like me, youll notice certain things they do to go above and beyond what Ive experience with other rental management companies in the past. This is why I give them a 5 star rating and plan to continue staying at their properties multiple times a year. Plus Blue Ridge is fantastic!
My wife and I decided to take our two young daughters on their first vacation to the North Georgia mountains after hearing several good things about the area. It was new territory to our entire family, so we did some extensive research looking for the perfect spot. We settled on the Blue Ridge area finding many activities suitable for children. After hours of browsing for the perfect cabin, my wife and I agreed on Peaceful, Easy Feeling. We chose…WISELY.From the first moment we drove onto to the property, we knew we were in for a treat. The picturesque view of the mountains hit us right when we pulled in. The outside of the property was very inviting and I already knew we’d be spending a lot of time outside admiring the mountain views. My kids kept yelling over and over, “this is awesome!” as they ran around outside exploring. The inside of the cabin was just as impressive as the outside. You can tell a lot of work was done to make the interior cozy for vacationers. The property had everything we needed plus more. Our girls found some board games and played Candyland right off the bat while my wife and I unpacked. We learned that we chose an amazing property fairly quickly and not only for the amenities it offered but also for its geographical location. We were able to easily zip down to the local grocery store for supplies and even trek to several hiking trails, nearby attractions, and other local hot spots.I don’t typically take the time to write reviews because I know someone else always will, but I had to say my piece this time. We had an incredible vacation. Our goal was to make it especially memorable for our daughters, and we passed that goal with flying colors. Of course, most of the credit goes to our cabin, the rest of the property, and the local area. I highly recommend Peaceful, Easy Feeling and cannot wait to plan another trip there. I rate it as 5 stars across the entire board! My daughters also just told me to give it a double thumbs up!
We have used Southern Comfort a few times. Staff are friendly and helpful even when they only had two people working at the time. Kim was wonderful to work with. If you arent sure about things, just ask. They will assist you as much as possible. Will definitely use them again in the future.
The cabin, a Breath of Fresh Air, was very cute. However, the living and bedroom furniture was so uncomfortable that it was difficult to enjoy any extended time relaxing inside the cabin. The beautiful scenery viewable from the large porch as well as the hot tub made our stay! Beware of the outdoor fire pit! The grade is so steep, it was impossible to enjoy our smores. :-( The staff was extremely patient and kind when we had to contact them for assistance with getting the inside fireplace going. :-)
The view was phenomenal. Just absolutely beautiful. Spacious 3 bedroom 3 bath triple split plan with pool table, jacuzzi tub, hot tub, full kitchen, huge living room/dining room, fireplace..... just very pleasant experience. Local to the tubing, mini golf, antique mall, gem mining ect.
We stayed at the Blue Lake Cabin in Blue Ridge. The cabin was beautiful and very clean. The customer service was excellent and we really appreciated the information packets. We were expecting some snow during our stay, and the staff were willing to allow us to access the cabin earlier if needed. The cabin had all the necessities needed and we truly enjoyed our stay.
Once again, Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals delivered a fantastic experience for me and my family. We spent a long weekend at the Choctaw Mountain Lodge which was so nice the boys didn’t want to leave the cabin. The staff at Southern Comfort is always quick to respond and always very friendly. Over the past ten years I have rented cabins from multiple companies in the area, and while most of my experiences have been good, my Southern Comfort Cabins experiences have always been great. They have won me over as a repeat customer and I would strongly recommend them if you are looking to make a trip to Blue Ridge.
Love, Love, Love! They have a wide range of cabin rentals. I was planing my sisters bachelorette weekend and found a awesome house. Great location with great views and everything about the cabin was great. I rented Crows Nest - Aska Adventure Area and we had so much fun! Worth the rental. Will be renting from again very soon.
We rented The Good Place from Dec 20-26. We love everything about this cabin. They had it set up for Christmas which the kids just loved! The views were amazing and the office team and maintenance team were very helpful as well! We will be back and we will rent from SCCR again! Thank you for helping us with providing our kids with an amazing Christmas!
No words can express how grateful we are to Southern Comfort, they literary saved our Christmas vacation! We drove from South Florida to a horrifying cabin we rented from another local rental company. Not only they were able to find us a cabin on Christmas eve, considering how booked they were for the holidays, but they put us in a beautiful, well maintained and clean cabin, Tranquil Woods. We had everything we needed and more!
One of the best vacations ever due to the comfort and luxurious quality of our Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals. We have traveled all over the world and this was one of our favorites. The cabin had everything you could ask for...beautiful views, quiet, kitchen stocked with every appliance and tool youd need. There wasnt any detail overlooked when it came to ensuring guests had everything plus more. We will be come back year after year as we loved every minute of our stay.
Choctaw Ridge is a beautiful & peaceful cabin to get away & relax. It’s close to Blue Ridge, but also to many waterfalls & National parks. The Southern Comfort team was responsive assisting with the fireplace, no other concerns or issues. We highly recommend this cabin - you’ll have a great time!
We have stayed at Southern Comfort Cabins two times. Both visits were excellent in all respects. From our experience, Southern Comfort offers the nicest cabins, highest quality furnishings and absolutely the best views. I read some comments that were disappointed with customer service...nothing could be further from the truth. In our experience they think of providing everything imaginable to ensure a fun stay and they follow up by telephone to ensure you have no problems or questions.
We stayed in Mountain High Lodge for a family gathering. We enjoyed the space for the kids to run around and have fun. Dining room table was perfect for family game night. I would suggest changing the sofa in the basement which is very worn-out, uncomfortable and damaged. We did vacuum all the rugs upon arriving because they dirty. We appreciate all the amenities in the cabin such as the washer & dryer, vacuum cleaner and coffee machine. We would recommend this location and plan on coming back.
Our cabin was perfect and very cozy and comfortable. We came with our kids for our 25th wedding anniversary and we really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is right in the woods and you definitely have the cabin feeling. The cabin has everything you need. Everything is close by. Grocery store, downtown and hiking trails are within 10-15 minutes away. Very convenient access to everything. Beautiful location and breathtaking sunsets view right from the balcony. The cabin has a game room that kept us entertained every night. I highly recommend this cabin. We will definitely return.
We stayed at Hidden Escape Cabin and had an absolutely wonderful time. Clean, comfortable, well maintained, quiet, relaxing, well equipped, spacious and beautiful. Plenty of hot water when all 8 of us had to shower. Very comfortable mattresses and bedding. Outdoor fireplace with views was exceptional. Already booked our 2nd stay.
I wanted to get away from our daily crazy city life routine to a place where I could connect with my family and with nature. The mile high cabin in Blue Ridge fulfilled that and much more. This was definitely an experience my family and I will always treasure and remember. Just breathing the fresh air, hearing the birds singing in the morning and having encountered a pack of deers up close in our cabin property were jsome of the amazing things we experienced during our stay. We can’t wait for our next adventure when we visit again.
We stayed in Mountain Echoes in September 2020. The cabin was stunning, had a magnificent view of the mountains, was only 6 months old, great for groups of 8-10. The only complaints I have was there was not enough rockers on the porch, the construction trucks going up and down the road early in the morning kind of takes away from the peace you want to experience firs thing in the morning. Other then that is was fantastic birthday celebration. Looking forward to going back!!
While visiting family in Alabama, we decided to take a side trip to Blue Ridge Georgia so my hubby could do some trout fishing. We found a cabin we liked that was offered by Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals. It was a great experience right from the beginning. The price on the cabin was amazing, booking was easy online and there was great follow up. When we got to the office to pick up the keys, staff was very friendly and helpful. They explained everything completely. The cabin was great, clean and everything we needed was there. Southern Comfort, you lived up to your name! We will definitely use them again for future trips.
Our first stay was this same time last year and we were in the Mile High Cabin. Words cant describe how awesome that cabin was. We had a larger group and the sleeping accomodations were simply fantastic. This three story cabin had so many ammenities that met the needs of everyone ranging in age from 71 to 26! regardless of where you sat on the main floow there were huge windows providing amazing panoramic views of the wonders of nature outdoors. Our most recent stay was this week with just my husband and myself. Our cabin was the Bearadise in Cherry Log. It was smaller and pet friendly, again it was perfect and easily accessable with the most spectacular scenery possible! We were about 5 miles from downtown Blue Ridge. This was perfect, easy access with good roads. Nice little trails for walking the dog. Both cabins were spotless upon our arrival, stocked with plenty of towels, etc and washer and dryer. The appliances and coffee makers were new and easy to operate. The staff at Southern Comfort Cabins provided easy to follow driving directions to the Cabins, helpful instructions during your stay, points of interest and 24 hr emergency contacts if needed. Very professional and very friendly! We are making our plans for 2021!
We stayed at Hogback Haven in Blue Ridge, GA, for our mini staycation, girlz trip mid February 2021. The cabin was beautiful and well maintained, although it was still decorated for Christmas in February after Valentines day. Nevertheless the kitchen was the kitchen of our dreams. We felt like chefs and it had everything piece of kitchen equipment/utensil that we could imagine with space to cook everything. It would have been so easy to rate 5 stars BUT the television on the main level had a parental control code on it that the main office was not aware of, so we couldnt remove it and the thermostat was locked at 70 degrees by the owners, we were told, when the office sent someone to look at it and the vents were blowing out cool, almost cold air. 70 degrees may have been ok, if it wasnt winter with temps dropping as low as 25 degrees at night this particular weekend. They did leave us with a portable heater though and some wood for the fireplace. All in all our Girlz Trip was great, the cabin and view was beautiful and the customer service was impeccable. No matter how many times I called from November to our stay in February, the representative was always polite, professional and answered all my questions. We will be back sooner than later. Thanks Southern Comfort!
VERY DIRTY WHEN ARRIVED, DRY FOOD STUCK ON THE SINK, DISHES WERE DIRTY, FLOOR WAS DIRTY, CRUMBS BEHIND THE COUNTERS IN THE KITCHEN, STAINS ON THE SHEETS DOWNSTAIRS, CALLED SOUTHERN COMFORT RENTALS TOLD THEM THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL HOUSEKEEPING NOTHING WAS DONE, THE KITCHEN CABINET WAS HANGING NOBODY CAME, BUT THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY FAST AND FOR SPENDING 2500.00 FOR ONE WEEK IT WAS DESKUSTING IN THAT CABIN THE NAME WAS HIGHLANDS HIDEAWAY DONT STAY THERE, EVEN THE REMOTES WERE STICKY AND BATHROOMS WERE GROSS.
We recently stayed in the Almost Like Home cabin managed by Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals (12/12/20 - 12/19/20). This cabin is absolutely beautiful. Me my wife Carrie and our friends Gina and Bert were there celebrating our anniversaries. We also invited Carries mom Diane to join us as she also needed a break from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. This cabin get away was the perfect cure. The owners were there prior to our arrival and had decorated the cabin for Christmas. It was so beautiful and made it feel just like home. They have worked hard to make this place special and it shows in every detail. The layout worked fantastic for us. There are 2 Master Suites and a bedroom down stairs, so everyone had their privacy. Blue Ridge is a great town that offered several non-chain dinning options as well as several local owned small businesses for shopping. Blue Ridge is also home of the Mercier Apple Orchards where the in house made apple fritters and apple cider is a must have. The location was also a plus as we made day trips to Bryson City, Helen, Tallulah Falls and the Dillard House. The highlight for me was the ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway from Blue Ridge to Copperhill TN and McCaysville GA. The scenery is fantastic as you travel along the Toccoa River to Copperhill. These are both neat little towns. This is the only place I have ever been where You can go from one state to another just by walking across the local grocery stores parking lot.We want to thank Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals for a job well done. They made check-in and check-out very easy. The cabin was very clean when we arrived and was well stocked with bed and bath linens. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare something as simple as hot dogs to a full 5 course meal. We would not hesitate recommending Southern Comfort and highly recommend this particular cabin. We absolutely loved it!
Beautiful, clean cabin at Serendipity and professional staff. The only bad experience which was terrifying was the drive to get to the cabin. We were crying and afraid to find our way back out because getting up to the cabin the roads are steep and very narrow-absolutely terrifying experience. Myself and friend cried and actually preferred to walk down the steep narrow road from the fear of the car going over. My husband drove by himself. I had 2 developmentally disabled boys with me and had them walk as well. We felt we would fall of the sides of the cliffs. I personally would not return because of this. I think they need to give better driving directions especially when visitors are traveling from Florida and do not know Georgia roads. There should be some kind of railings or guards for the roads driving up those dangerous mountains. I love the cabin, it was absolutely beautiful and very clean and out of 2 night stay we only stayed one night because once we left the cabin we were to afraid to return and get lost on those uphill roads. Update: Staff reached out to me apologized for the experience and refunded me the night we did not stay there. Thank you again. I do recommend Southern Cabin rentals but advise to get clear directions to avoid what we experienced.
The entire experience in working with Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals was great. I worked with 2 different team members and they all were so courteous and quick to respond. The property we stayed at is a little piece of heaven on earth and I will be returning as often as I can. I would highly recommend them!!
My mom and I had originally rented from another company- but after one night, found ourselves scrambling for another company rental. Our previous rental’s AC broke(Georgia Mountain Cabins) and we had to jump to another rental through the same company. The next rental smelled terrible, and the previous company refused to refund or find another option. We called Southern Comfort and they found us a place last minute. I made this trip to treat myMother and Southern Comfort saved the day. We absolutely loved our rental! Place was beautiful and spotless. Walking distance to downtown Blue Ridge.
Our stay at the Southern Grace cabin with Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals was perfect. The contactless check-in and check-out were easy, the cabin was well stocked, and it was spotless. Cleanliness was a concern due to COVID-19, but they took extra measures to ensure a clean and safe experience. The location was central to hikes and outlooks. We spent 3 days here and didnt want to leave. We cant wait to return!
We recently stayed in Eagles View cabin in blue ridge. The cabin was spectacular, has an AMAZING view, close to downtown (5mins), and fun outdoor activities nearby (tubing, white water rafting, gem mining, etc). It had all the amenities we needed for our one week stay. The only reason I cannot give it a 5 star as much as I want to, the king bed in the master bedroom is horrible ! We felt like we were sleeping on a 200 year old bed. With every toss and turn and just getting in and out of the bed, the squeak and creak noises that bed made were so annoying and loud. Not to mention, the bed was so hard and uncomfortable, I am now suffering neck and back pain. I would love to 100% book my October stay at this cabin, but unless that bed is changed out, I don’t think I can. On vacation, one of the best things is to get a good nights rest to have energy for all the fun activities and we woke up every morning not well rested. The other couple we were with mentioned the bedroom downstairs was perfect, very comfortable bed.Overall our stay was well worth it and we loved our breathtaking view of the smoky mountains !
We stayed at the Dogwood Dream cabin December 9-14, 2020. The customer service was great and professional. The cabin itself was great. The only complaint was the beds. If we cant get a good night sleep that ruins the vacation. But we made the best of it and would try a different cabin before we gave up on the company.
The Bearing Haus property was absolutely beautiful! We stayed in December 2020 and enjoyed every minute of it. It was immaculate and very well kept. We enjoyed the beautiful views and playing pool. It is a great place to relax. It exceeded our expectations and we cant wait to visit again.
Sunrise Aska was a home away from home. Beautiful views, comfortable furniture, beds were amazing and everything worked!! The kids and I also felt very safe which was really important to us. I will definitely recommend to my coworkers, friends and family in South Florida. Very charming and cozy.Claudia Diaz
We had a water well problem on Day 2 at the Once In A Blue Ridge cabin, which caused us to lose water for more than 12 hours. The maintenance team was responsive and got the water flowing, but we continued to have water flow or water cleanliness problem for our four remaining days. Their solution was for us to clean/change the filters each time we had a problem, which was 2-3 times every day.Southern Comfort rental agency was very accommodating and credited us to our satisfaction. They were very easy to work with through this entire situation.
SCCR is a great company to do business with. I felt they were very professional every step of the way. We stayed at 3 Peaks, which is a phenomenal cabin. The treehouse was just amazing and the cabin was all high end and luxury products. I made a couple of calls to SCCR, one for a broken glass (just to give a heads up as we had damage insurance) and to inquire on the upcoming storm. They were very polite on both occasions. We ended up leaving a day early just in case the storm had us trapped as the hill to the home was very steep and we are from FL lol.We cant wait to visit Blue Ridge again. We loved this area and will definitely do business with SCCR in the future. Now we are considering buying our own cabin as we have several other investment properties around Florida!
We stayed at the Bear Paw cabin reserved from Southern Comfort. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got to check in an hour early and they were very accommodating. Our cabin was exactly what we had hoped for. Relaxing, great views and close to town as well. We really enjoyed our stay with our family and hope to come back!!
Im giving 4 stars as for great location of the property where its located but as far as spiders and scorpions inside the property was way too many they just kept popping up from everywhere from bathrooms to kitchen to bedroom and living room we had to be extra careful when walking around inside the property or even if we were to sit on couch or sofa just had to clean everything everytime also ha to keep spraying spider killer everyday throughout our stay.It would be really nice if the management people take care of this scorpions and spiders I mean you gonna have some in woods but not like this havent seen anything like this even when I stayed at gatlinburg cabins. I normally go every year up there this was first time visiting blue ridge.
We rented a cabin on Lake Blue Ridge called Waters Edge. The cabin was much older in person than the pictures on the website. The downstairs room was completely unusable. The heater did not work and the fire place was not working properly. Even with after making sure the latch was open, the whole entire house started smoking and we had to evacuate the entire house because we had young children. The office offered electrical heaters which didnt help at all. So we had to fit 3 families into 2 rooms. We will not be returning and I do not reccomend this cabin for groups larger since you cannot use the downstairs area.
Great staff, we stayed at Pates escape the cabin is absolutely beautiful, clean and the kitchen fully stacked with all the pots, pans and utensils. The outdoor fireplace is great to make smores with your family. The hot tub is also a great bonus. The views are breathing. My family and I had an amazing time, the only negative was the upstairs bathroom we had an issue with as soon as we arrived however, the leasing Co send a plumber right away and took care of it. I definitely will be back and will definitely recommend it to my friends and family.
I recently took my family of 8 on a trip to Blue Ridge, GA. Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals came highly recommended to me by some friends and I now know why! The properties are amazing and the staff was absolutely fantastic to work with. They helped me figure out the best property to accommodate my large family and the cabin (Choctaw Mountain Lodge) was awesome! The views from the deck were incredible and my kids loved sitting in the hot tub while the sun went down. Every night we sat out on the deck next to the outdoor fireplace and just hung out as a family, telling stories and making smores. I would highly recommend Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals and I can guarantee you that I will be a repeat guest! Thanks to the SCCR team for making our family getaway a memorable one!
My crew & I stayed at “Above Raven Ridge” this past weekend. First let me start off by saying we had a great fun filled relaxing time. The cabin was just as beautiful as pictured. The beds were comfortable. And the kitchen was well stocked. The only 2 areas of improvement are as follows.1. They have to do more to get rid of the ladybug infestation at this cabin. I was told that they spray once a month but there isn’t much they can do since they ladybugs are protected by law in the area. I was advised to purchase some bug spray. I don’t think this is not something someone should have to worry about during vacation. I will say that the ladybugs are not like gnats or regular flies, so they don’t swarm you. But it’s a nuisance nonetheless. More needs to be done to get rid of them for future guests.2. Is give more details on the website about the steepness of drive up to the cabin. The road was mostly gravel with some paved parts but the real issue is the steepness of the mountain you have to climb to get to this cabin. This cabin is literally just over the top of a ridge. So if you are scared of heights, please get someone else to drive. You do not need 4 wheel drive but you will need to be in 1st or 2nd gear to make it. I definitely do not recommend driving here at night.Other than those 2 things, the actual location of the cabin is absolutely beautiful. All representatives with the company were pleasant and very accommodating (beyond the ladybug issue). I would not hesitate to book another cabin with them in the future.
Extremely happy with our weekend getaway. We stayed at Three Peaks and Treehouse. Very clean and well maintained property. Great communication with the management. From check in to check out everything is very informative. Will definitely share it to our family and friends about this company.
Nothing at the cabin worked. Place was messy and we spent our whole weekend getaway waiting for maintenance to arrive and fix things which they could not fix. I would not use this company. Had an iffy experience the first time I used them, but decided to give them another shot. Suffice to say, my wifes birthday weekend was ruined by their poor upkeep.
We had the panoramic paradise cabin and it had a very nice design and spectacular view! My only issue was I had to call maintenance twice but they quickly responded and we got resolution. My only recommendation would be to troubleshoot before check-in and appliances were dated.
We stayed at a location called Hidden Falls, it was a well situated and secluded cabin on a creek. Property was really well maintained and clean! Included a gazebo and fire pit overlooking the creek. We will definitely be staying at this cabin again, was only 5 minutes from McCaysville and 15 min to other attractions.
I couldnt have better things to say about this company, staff or properties. My family and I have rented from them many times over the years and have always been as pleased as could be. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. They always make me feel like I am coming to a little cabin of my own. We have stayed in many different cabins over the years and they are always very clean, updated and beautifully decorated with great detail. I couldnt recommend anyone better!
We rent homes regularly for vacation trips. We rented Elevation 2020 from 12/18-12/23. SCCR is a fantastic company that actually answers the phone with professional folks that can provide guidance and actually get things done.We will definitely visit Blue Ridge again and go thru SCCR. The property was awesome, very secluded, and had everything we were looking for. Surgically clean and helped us relax and provided a change of scenery from a self-imposed COVID lockdown. We recommend Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals 100% and thank them profusely for their help in making our vacation great!
Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals was, without out a doubt, the best choice for our family vacation this New Years Eve. Not only was the Aska Lodge located in quite possibly the most gorgeous spot in Blue Ridge, but also the staff at Southern Comfort rentals were probably the nicest people in all of Appalachia. They made us feel like family from check-in to check-out and everything in between. We worked directly with Britney and she was as cozy and cool as they come. She was helpful and her warm spirit and hospitality makes you want to invite her to your family dinner. All of Southern Comfort employees we encountered gave us this same feeling. We traveled from sunny CA for this trip to get a hearty dose of warm people, chilly winter weather and a taste of mountain oasis. Southern Comfort Cabins covered this entire wish list for us and more. We will 100% be coming back next year for NYE.
My family and I stayed in a Lazy Bear Den. It was awesome. My kids really enjoyed the tree house and swings. The cabin was fully equipped with everything we needed. There were a few minor issues. The wifi password I was provided with did not work. All the toilets in the cabins and stains in the inside where they need to be cleaned with a toilet brush by housing keeping. When we arrived we had planned to use the gas grill but the propane was Screwed on so tight it was impossible to use for the grill. But overall my kids enjoyed themselves.
We stayed at the Wonderful Lodge in Mineral Bluff. One of the BEST cabins we have stayed in and weve stayed in a lot but first one at Southern Comfort. The kids loved it, we loved it and our dog loved it. Very clean, family friendly and the views were gorgeous. We will definitely be back!!
Tiffany and Nick (I believe is his name) made our trip absolutely perfect. We evacuated due to the hurricane, Tiffany went the extra mile for us. She found the perfect cabin, in our budget. She should compassion and empathy, we were told we couldn’t stay until Friday (by a really unpleasant person.) I called back and I got Nick, I believe his name was. Nick got us an extra night, and was very pleasant. Tiffany and Nick are the reason we will return and tell all our family and friends about this company. The only issue I truly had was the lady who told us we couldn’t stay an extra night, which Nick fixed. The cabin it’s self had a few yellow jackets and that is to be expected. The biggest issue was with getting into the drive way. We took my SUV which isn’t 4x4 or anything special, and it struggled getting up the hill and into the drive way. These are not issues that anyone can solve, and I do not expect them to solve it. Just friendly advice for the next customer, the Bear bungalow (I believe is the name) has a steep hill and a curve driveway, midhill. Outside of those issues, I look forward to my next stay. It was absolutely perfect.
I hate to leave this review but I tried contacting them in every way before doing so. We rented crows nest with them. It has 4 rooms. 2 were unusable. So humid and they smelled. I called them while we were there numerous times and they simply left a message saying there should have been de humidifier. There was none. I emailed, called a few more times. They said someone would get back to me. It has been over a week since we left and I have yet to hear from there. would never rent through them again. There are so many options!!!!
My husband and I booked our anniversary trip. I called a few weeks before our reservation and was assured everything was in order and good to go. I call back the day we are supposed to leave to let them know we will be arriving after hours and they tell me that the booking did not go through. This is after my husband called to schedule the reservation over the phone AND I called to ensure the reservation was complete and ready. They were absolutely unwilling to help us mitigate the situation and genuinely acted like they couldn’t care less. If you have the option - go through one of the other cabin companies in blue ridge, such as, Georgia Mountain Cabin Rentals, to ensure this doesn’t happen to you. Utterly disappointed and this trip was for our first year wedding anniversary.
We stayed in Bear Paw, which was wonderful. The cabin and property were spotless, perfectly equipped and very comfortable, especially on Day 2 when we discovered the couch was actually a recliner model. Woo! The surrounding area was wonderful and really met our expectations. Now, about that road up the mountain: No real problems aside from a bit of stupidity on our part (follow the directions from the office perfectly and youll be fine). The road only seems like you need a truck or SUV to climb. We saw Corollas and Camrys doing just fine. The 100 yards or so of 1-lane, steep gravel also turned out to be fine but Im not sure what we would have done if we had encountered another vehicle in the opposite direction. Or if it was muddy/slippery. Or icy. Still, a fine few days.
Southern Comfort Staff are Friendly and so considerate and helpful. We had a great experience especially with Covid-19 going on.We had never visited The GA. Mountains before and it was beyond our Expectations. Hopeful to see you guys again. The Cabin A Perfect Day was just that Perfect .I would recommend this Co. And A Perfect Day Cabin.
We stayed in Pates Escape cabin. Path to the backyard firepit was treacherously steep, and the trail down to the dock was downright dangerous. Need to put in some steps and/or railings before someone breaks their neck. At the very least, put down some gravel so its not so slippery in muddy conditions. A warning about the sudden drop-off in the pond would have been welcome. Scary to wade in a couple of steps and then have my feet go out from under me! Cabin was clean and comfortable, with excellent amenities, but Id been looking forward to more swimming, and once down that path was one time too many. :(
Super amazing staff. Very transparent with everything and very inviting. I thoroughly had the best vacation & I have to credit a lot of that with the fact myself & my family were able to feel at home for a week. We werent made to feel as if we were walking on egg shells. The staff called to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we would need to enjoy ourselves and our trip. 10/10 would recommend.
My father in law just retired for the second time in his life. First from the navy (thank you). So, we had a family reunion for the kids.( ADULTS NOW) The frist cabin was the pictures that were sent to them. EveryoneTook time off. At the last minute Southern Comfort Cabins changed it. The one he got was on a dirt road up a hill. Small cabin for6 adults. Hard beds and outdated furniture.Dont go by the pictures.Thank you for your time for me to vent.Son in law
The staff was courteous & attentive. Kim gave us the quick low down on the attractions with honesty, telling us which were expensive for us a family of six & which were more affordable. Being unfamiliar with the cabin we rented, we could not figure out where to turn a set of lights on so I called the office the next day, Kim sent the housekeeper Sandra over to help figure it out. She was there before sun down as promised. The cabin was very nice. The townspeople where nice. Good places to eat in town & around.Good experience in general, would definitely do it again with sufficient time off work & kids from school; hoping on this xmas so I can light the fireplace & use the indoor jacuzzi we didnt get to use on the count of the outdoor hot tub;)
I would definitely recommend Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals. The staff at each point of contact was friendly, helpful and super courteous. I dealt with Kimberly mostly and she was a gem. She was professional and sweet. I also cannot say enough about my cabin and all the personal and thoughtful touches not only from the owner but left by Southern Comfort as well. I will definitely be back to Blue Ridge!!
I can not say enough nice things about SCCR. From my initial call to checking out of the beautiful home we rented, SCCR went above and beyond. I rent about 4 vacation homes a year with different companies and I cant imagine how much easier my life would be if each company was more like SCCR. Check in was quick and efficient and they provided all of the information we could ever need. From internet username and password, to local restaurants - the welcome package left no common question unanswered. I called a few times leading up to our vacation and spoke with a few different people, each one as friendly as the others. They even called the first full day of our vacation to ensure we were doing well, and that we did not need anything additional. We stayed in the Serenity home. If you are looking for mountain views, this is the home. We had 180 degree views of the mountains - even each bedroom has a view. The office did say that GPS will not take you there and you must follow the step by step directions, however everyone in our group was able to find it using Apple and Google maps just fine. We were thankful to have the step by step directions in case we did get lost.Again, awesome company to rent from! I would recommend them a million times over!
The photos on the advertisement for this cabin are very outdated. The cabin and furnishings are shabby, dirty and neglected.Dirty bedding, including a blanket that had a mouse trap attached to it!Uncomfortable beds. All furniture is very worn out and needs replacing. Decking, steps Adirondack chairs all in disrepair.Downstairs fireplace not working.Management company, took care on one or two issues but not all. Very unresponsive, and since returning home have not responded at all.
Horrible- Place was dirty- had popcorn on floors of the rug/ trash/candy inside sofa. Pee stains on comfortable. We went to celebrate the life of my mother, ended up cleaning and doing laundry that should of been done in the first place. Had a 7 month old crawling around- thank god I paid attention she was picking up popcorn pieces from what was “cleaned”. Dog across street barked the whole time. Called to complain, took two day to hear back from management. They offered to send a maid in at 5 at night... too bad I already spent the beginning of my vacation cleaning. Was told I would be receiving some kind of refund; have yet to hear from them. All they said was sorry. Never again
We stayed with my cousin and two other couples over Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, we all were bitten by bed bugs and needed to take several weeks to ensure that our own homes were safe. After my cousin reached out to the rental property to warn them, they made excuses and refused to take the threat seriously. Only then did she post a poor review, and then the proceeded to paint themselves as the victims. Maybe they did eventually take care of their bedbug problem, but officially they denied the whole thing which is extremely problematic for me and my family. Here are some photos of our bedbug bites from those nights, and I would encourage anyone with questions to make sure that this rental company has thoroughly cleaned and treated all of their properties before booking a trip. I do not usually post something this negative, but having a corporation victim blame my pregnant wife after they had a problem with their property is the worst kind of customer service.
We stayed at souther comforts blue ridge hideaway, When we arrived there were many little things broken TV stand in the basement, knob in the basement and the sink was leaking in the kitchen. The washing machine didnt work well and neither did the dryer, a sconce in the upstairs bedroom was busted off, the mattresses are quite old and have body duvets on each side from use and are very uncomfortable, a few of the doors would stay shut let alone lock for privacy. (We had a larger cabin with many families) the fridge had only 1 bin in the door to hold condiments and broken drawers and shelves and was hard to hold the food and such we needed to to all the families we had there. The dishwasher rack wouldnt roll out, we had to manually lift and put inside to get the dishwasher to work. It states that we would be required to not any issues of broken items to the main office upon arrival and we called 5 times and couldnt get through throughout the day. When we got the after hours number and complained that the TV wasnt working they never sent anyone out the whole week to get it fixed so we gave up. On the website it states that there would be enough and paper plates utensils to get you started in the online rental description none was provided. Needless to say it was nothing that would ruin our trip but was definitely enough to never use southern comfort cabins again or to reccomend them to anyone. It also states that we would be required to pay repainting fees if anyone made a mark with the pool cues on the ceiling in the basement and there were like 3000 Marks so I hope I dont get charged for that.
This was a nearly perfect getaway. The home was beautiful and clean with all the creature comforts as well as a clean hot tub and pool table. The area is nice and quiet and the view from the balcony is amazing. Be warned though, my only complaint is that the drive and streets are very steep and may be a bit much for flatlanders.
Moonlight Retreat was a great property to stay at.The Amenities where great starting with the pool, hot tub, basketball goal and game room. The house was amazing. The view off the front of the house was so nice just sitting on the couch on the living room watching the different clouds go by. Great Cabin to stay at.
Not flexible or accommodating to military families, will call you a million times, but wont respond to emails. do not recommend. will not book with them ever again. booked a large accommodating cabin for friends and family to welcome my fiance home and had to change the date due to an extension on deployment. probably would have had a good bit of future bookings from a number of future customers out of our booking if the company was more flexible. companys loss. suggest blue sky cabin rentals instead, they are always above and beyond for us.
I have been a satisfied client of Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals in Blue Ridge, GA for over three years. Being an absentee owner of a dream cabin which will be a future retirement home in the N. GA mountains, it is extremely important to me to have a management team that I can trust and rely on to proactively address items that impact my property. With Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals, I have total piece of mind. In addition, they do an outstanding job in providing marketing exposure for my seasonal cabin rentals. CJ, Beatrice, and the rest staff at Southern Comfort are client service driven for both guest and property owners. You will truly appreciate and enjoy the Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals experience.
We recently stayed at the The Vue over blue ridge. This cabin deserves every bit of the name luxury to describe it. The outside view was absolutely gorgeous. However... I did not get to enjoy the view or cabin in a relaxing way. Many months before reserving it, I looked at a great number of cabins. My family and I narrowed it down to a few, one being the Vue. The deciding factor came down to if I could use baby gates on the stairs. From the pictures, it looked iffy. I called and asked if baby gates could safely be used, i was told yes. I spoke with my family and we decided to proceed with renting this cabin. I again asked before booking to ensure we could use baby gates... again I was told yes.Well we arrive and guess what? There was absolutely no way at all to safely use baby gates on these stairs. I literally spent my whole vacation holding my 1 yr old or literally walking behind her with one hand on her anytime she was near the stairs. Of course the stairs were also right in the middle of the living area. I feel like I could have had a more relaxing time chasing my 1 yr old around at home and saved the thousands of dollars we spent. I was lied to and I dont trust this company now. We vacation in GA every yr and Ive never been flat out lied to like that. I wouldve rented a different cabin with the same company. You still wouldve had my buisness, no need to lie to secure a rental.Again the cabin itself was beautiful but I definitely wouldnt suggest for people with small kids. Also, it was advertised as having a hammock on the patio and there was not one to be found anywhere. Shouldnt advertise something that your not going to offer.
I have stayed in 3 cabins rented through Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals: Divine Intervention, Just Aska Bear, and the Blue Ridge Suite 1. I was incredibly impressed by all three! They are all very unique and offer different views and experiences based on their location. The staff at Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals are all very accommodating and kind, and were even available via cell phone on a Sunday when I thought Id broken the hot tub! They were all immaculate and luxurious, and well equipped for myself as well as 2 other adults and 2 children that accompanied me to Just Aska Bear. I recommend them to all of my friends, and look forward to staying with them again in the future.
We recently planned a week stay in the Bear Paw cabin, just outside Blue Ridge. We paid the extra $50 to have on site check in. I was told I would receive the cabin address and door code the night before our stay was to begin. We did not. We live 9 hours away and began driving the morning of our stay. I got over half way there before I finally called the rental company, mid morning, and had to request the information which was then promptly emailed.Once we arrived at the cabin, it was everything we hoped. Beautiful little cabin with a great view. Just one problem, German cockroaches all over the kitchen and dinning area. We settled in and did some short hiking. Once night fell we turned on the porch light to sit outside and enjoy the view, but soon after had to retreat inside after large hornets began swarming all over the porch and I was stung on the hand. We went inside only to find out that the water had now stopped working throughout the entire cabin. This was around 9 p.m. I called the after hours number and was told that the cabin was on a community well that the rental company does not have access to and to wait until morning to see if the issue remedied itself. I also mentioned the roached/hornets and was told it would be addressed in the morning.Morning day two came around and still no water or call. We had to go to town anyway for supplies and stopped by the office shortly after it opened. The staff is super friendly and appeared genuinely grossed out and upset by my complaints. My problem here is they had no idea I had phoned these issues in the night before, meaning no one was working on trying to fix them. They told me a maintenance worker would be out as soon as possible to work on the water and pest. The day went on and around 11 a.m. I received a call from another office employee to check on how our stay was going. I relayed my issues to her and she again was surprised because she had NO idea we were experiencing any issues. Once again we were told a maintenance worker would be dispatched and he arrived about an hour later. When he arrived, again super nice, he explained to us that the water was on a community well and called the company to respond. As for the roaches, we were told there was nothing that could be done while we were there and basically wed have to deal with them. We were provided with two sticky pads we could use to try to trap some of them if we wanted and that was the end of that. As for the hornets, we located the nest underneath the porch. There was a piece of plywood underneath the porch and the hornets were entering a small opening by a support post and crawling underneath. To get at them, the plywood would have needed to be removed. The maintenance guy sprayed the opening but advised it was a pest control issue and he had no idea when they could be gotten out to the cabin as the rental company had no one on call for this issue. He was nice enough to leave the spray so I could spray them myself. The water guy eventually arrived and determined that there was no issue with the water and that the main line going into the cabin had water in it, but some reason it wasnt making it into the cabin. The maintenance guy came back out, but couldnt get to the main water line because it was under the cabin, behind a locked door that they did not have a code too. He tried calling the cabin owner, but they didnt answer so he was forced to remove the hinges to get underneath. It was determined that the main water valve had broken and he was able to fix it and return water to the cabin. This finally happened around 5 p.m.The only other time I heard from the cabin company was because they had heard there was a domesticated bunny hanging around the yard (there was, hed show up at front periodically through out the day) and they wanted to trap it. My wife and son enjoyed the bunny though so I asked them to wait until we left and they did. We spent a week here storing everything in bags so we did not bring the roaches home with us.
Sunset Medley Cove was outstanding. Enough room for everyone to be together and apart if need be! Lol. Well crafted and the master bathroom is the size of a small apartment! Will come back next year. The staff is professional and accommodating. Ive rented with them 2 years in a row and cant wait until the next time.
I have been using Southern Comfort for several years and stayed on many of their properties. Booking is simple, easy, and unbelievably affordable for what you get when you get there. Properties are always clean, and ready when we get there, its always hard to leave. Staff is professional, and assists with planning adventure getaway if asked. Thanks again!!!
Terrible customer service...rented Big Ben View cabin outdoor hot tub didnt work, didnt have water in it. They are supposed to do a walk-thru days before check-in. Smoke detectors not on wall they were under sink, notified them on day of check-in nothing done, outdoor floodlights didnt work..was not notified before checkin that hot tub was not working..no follow up calls from customer service or manager. Filled out surveys, call office, sent email, no customer service..
Bearcat Lodge had it all. It was centrally located to go hang gliding at Lookout Mountain, Ocoee whitewater rafting or ziplining in Highlands To say the view was outstanding would be an understatement. Your adventure will begin the minute you arrive at the bottom of the driveway. Just wait and see.
Recently stayed in a top floor suite in downtown blue ridge, i booked on a wing and a prayer not knowing what to expect because Ive never even heard of blue ridge before. Needless to say i was blown away from the time i set foot in the cabin until the time i left, great little town with surprisingly alot to do, will definitely use southern comfort to rent again in the future.
Update: I just wanted to update my review for Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals. Immediately after my review I was contacted by a Customer Relations Manager who acknowledged my concerns and apologized for the cabin not being up to standard. After working with her for a couple of days we agreed on a compromise that I personally feel was fair.Southern Comfort has proven to me that customer satisfaction is important to them. I will definitely consider renting from them again in the future. Thanks Amy for making things right. We stayed five days in the Gilford lodge Cabin in BlueRidge, Georgia. The cabin was absolutely beautiful. The problem was the cleaning staff hasnt dusted the place in a long time the tub needs a good bleach soaking, ceiling fans, light fixtures, lights over kitchen island, outdoor fan, outdoor furniture on second floor was disgusting. To dirty to sit on please change the cushions. The pillows on the bed had yellow stains on them. It would have been nice to have at least one extra roll of paper towels and toilet paper. Its so easy to make sure the property is up to standard for incoming guests. You need to have a supervisor go in behind these housekeepers to insure the property is clean and sanitized. Which Im sure it wasnt.Cabin Rental is not cheap please take pride in your properties so incoming guests can enjoy and have a good vacation. I personally wipe everything down and put everything in the dishwasher before use.The views, pool table and games were nice to have.
To be totally honest the experience of being on the mountain was all in itself breath taking. The issue I had with the cabin was I could not utilize the bottom floor which was the lower family room with the bedroom and bathroom which was needed due to the amount of guest that I had with me. They ended up sleeping on chairs and couches on the main floor (being uncomfortable) because the heat did not work properly in the home downstairs. We had to ask for additional heaters to attempt to live in the downstairs quarters which kept tripping the breaker so they were not utilized. After calling to report hair in the beds to request change of sheets because it was obvious they where not washed just remade that seem to be an issue. So there was no need to even advice after further inspecting other beds it was the same issue which could have been resolved if the sheets on all the beds were changed when originally requesting after being told that they was only coming to change the sheets in the first bed which was implied that in so many words was a lie and ask if we took pictures?? So im glad that we brought additional covers because we slept on top of the comforters in the two other bedrooms. My thing is as myself being in management and also customer service for over 20 years they did not go above and beyond to accommodate us during the stay. To me it seems as if their had been some time between the stays at the Altitude Adjustment Cabin considering the fact that the maintenance guy stated that a whole part was needed to be ordered for the heat to be fixed (Thank God for the emergency heat and that poor fire place that had to stay on the entire time) if not for that we would have frozen in the cabin. If you know someone is going to check in and I were the property manager have the heat turned on in an ample amount of time for the guest to make sure A that it works, and B to be warm for the guest as a welcome gesture instead of the tv being on and a lit christmas tree after being told it cam take 6 hours for the home to be warmed. I see great potential in the cabins with some additional customer service training and better house keeping. But when people pay the type of money that I did for this cabin you expect exceptional service in hopes of thinking you getting what you pay for and that was not my experience. I felt like I was challenged about the things that I was trying to report. So with that being said it was my first and last time and I hate that it turned out to be that way because it had an amazing view, but I will try my luck with a different company next time. I wish the best for the company and pray this helps to better the next guest experience.Sincerely,Unsatisfied customer
Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals is A+ in customer Service!!!I will always rent with Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals!!! Ive booked twice so far and heres the reason! My first experience I purchased a rafting trip with my cabin and on the day of my trip it poured buckets!! I did not want to go and southern comfort has honored it for me for the visit of my choice. My second rental, I encountered a power outage and I called southern comfort and they immediately upgraded me to an amazing cabin on Lake Blue Ridge!!! The BEST!!!
We have stayed with them three times over the past six years. The cabins are well-maintained and comfortable. The reason for not rating as a 5 stems from our last visit. HVAC went out on Fri evening and they could not get someone there before Mon. Then, they asked us to stay to meet the repairman and we had plans to meet friends but wanted the AC working so we complied. Also, hot tub was not working and they knew what the problem was but kept asking Do you want us to come and get it working? Son-in-law wanted to relax after mountain biking so the answer was obviously Yes but they seemed reluctant. As stated, great cabins, great scenery but not great service. They seem to think they are the best and dont have to be as accomodating. Well, stayed with another cabin rental service this summer and they did bend over backwards to accomodate us. Dont think SCCR is the only game in town when vacationing in Blue Ridge/Ellijay.
I rented cabin May31/June 7, 2021 for my Granddaughters wedding-I requested a cabin on the river a year in advance- called twice to make sure Cabin was located on the river- was told by Southern Comfort cabin rental it was- when we got there it was down a hill and across a busy road -I am 66 was unable to climb the steep steps to the river-misleading- the cabin needs a deep clean- the blankets and quilts need laundering- need new pans that aren’t scratched up and set evenly on surface- floors were dirty- cabin really needs to be freshened up-we weren’t given code or address until I called maintenance day of our arrival-Memorial Day- they contacted Southern Comfort Rental for us -I was told I hadn’t sent in my ID- I sent them a picture of the email with my ID that had been sent about 5 days before- I had called Southern Cabin Rental several times and couldn’t reach anyone until I called maintenance- I was getting worried- I would not recommend Southern Comfort Cabin Rental
I love the people that run this company, they are so easy to work with, knowledgeable and friendly, accommodating. This penthouse we stayed at is in the quaint downtown - it’s absolutely sublime with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, an open living dining and kitchen floor plan with a drool worthy balcony overlooking the downtown with a fireplace, lounge seating and outdoor dining table. This spacious loft style penthouse is beautifully furnished and decorated with all the luxury amenities in the kitchen and bath, plus full laundry washer and dryer. This is THE must stay place in @blueridge ♥️
On a last minute search for a cabin for July 4th weekend, this was the last place we tried. And they miraculously had a cabin that fit out family of 5. We booked the day before we were set to arrive. It was amazing. The cabin was right on a lake. Just gorgeous. We were able to finally see the Milky Way! The cabin was peaceful and serene. Theperfect getaway from a busy city. And Brenden was awesome. Very responsive, answering all our questions throughout the entire stay. I called him every day to ask questions and he was great. Gave us an extra sense of security knowing we had someone who could give us the lay of the land. The cabin was clean for the most part save the toaster oven and the need for some dusting. I would recommend everyone do your own COVID cleaning, meaning wipe down door knobs, light switches, remote controls, countertops, railings and any frequently touched surfaces. And Lysol the air. Just as a precaution and extra layer of safety. I’m not sure housekeeping did these things as our used disinfectant wipes showed dirt/dust.
We began using Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals to manage our Blue Ridge cabin in 2009. From our initial meeting through today, SCCR has exceeded our every expectation as cabin owners. As a team, they are responsive to us and our renters, taking an ownership mentality when dealing with our property, and communicating clearly in a timely manner. SCCR has earned our total trust as managers of our cabin--we highly recommend them to other cabin owners seeking superior cabin management and revenue generation.
These guys are the absolute worst! Please dont ever use this company. My family and friend stayed at this property in June 2021 and were swarmed with bed bug bites all over our bodies during our stay, after coming home only to find out that the bed bugs got transferred to our houses. We had to pay over $1000 dollars to get an exterminator plus other things to get rid of them, which the whole process of exterminating took a month, bagging everything, taking apart our beds and washing and drying everything in the house. We also had to take numerous days off from work because of the location of the bites being visible to clients, for the safety of co-workers in case it spreads in the office, and to set up the house for the extermination. We contacted them numerous times to let them know about the situation and that we would like a refund and their response was that they have no bed bugs and wont be compensating us for anything. They also just kept saying through out this whole ordeal that the property manager was not in and would contact us back which took over a month for even a response. We sent pictures of our bites, our invoices for the extermination and bed enclosures that we had to purchase for the extermination and still said its not their fault. I hope this review is seen by everyone and know that they have no intention of helping you guys out if you have any problems.
I recently stayed at JME retreat. It was everything and more than was expressed, and expected!Out of all the cabin services that I called, southern comfort was the one I chose and I made the right choice!!From the gentleman that set up my revervations,to the lady that answered the after hours line
We are currently in Toccoa River Haus and both the home and Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals are top notch! As business development for a luxury vacation home company in Orlando, I am to say the least a vacation home snob. The home is extremely well appointed and we have had to ask for nothing. We had to make a call for a minor issue and the response time was quick and the issue was taken care of. We can not say enough good things and will definitely use and refer SCCR again!
Absolutely horrible experience. Literally called one week before the rental and said they had to cancel. Only option they provided was a smaller cabin in a completely different area. Avoid at all costs! And then the staff (Kim C) pretty much said- sorry not our fault. Too bad we disrupted your entire vacation!

2022-01-01My family of four rented a great cabin 10 minutes outside of Blue Ridge, GA for 5 nights. Check in and check out was super easy with a key code access door. When we arrived the cabin was super clean with towels and toiletries supplied. All the photos supplied online were up to date of the cabin and cabin views. Our two children who are both under 5 had a blast just hanging out in the cabin and playing one of the many board games found in the cabin. All around the whole family had a great time and loved the ease of Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals.

2022-04-20Me and a few other friends wanted to enjoy a nice relaxing weekend in the mountains, and Southern Comfort was definitely the best way to go! Kim was delightful to work with and helped us pick the perfect cabin! The cabin was very clean, well stocked, and beautiful inside and out. We had no problems with checking in or checking out they made everything a breeze! I loved how spacious the cabin was. I will definitely be renting from Southern Comfort again!

2022-06-06Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals have always been a pleasant experience! Everyone there provides excellent customer service and is responsive and works with you on anything needed. We just rented their “Panoramic Paradise” cabin this past weekend. It was 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 floors, pool table, foosball, hot tub, full kitchen of dinner ware and cook/bake ware, fully stocked towels, bedding, toiletries, ALL super clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable furniture all around and amazing mountain views!! We relaxed and enjoyed every bit of our stay at this cabin & didn’t want to leave. Above all, it was super easy to book, easy codes to get in & out and just all around hassle free! HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking through Southern Comfort Cabins 100%💕

2022-06-29The cabin was gorgeous, well appointed, and comfortable. However, the management provided terrible customer service. I found it ridiculous that the cabin only provides one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom and one roll of paper towels. As it turned out there were no paper towels, now extra trash bags, no dishwashing soap, no dishwasher soap, no dishrags, and only one dish towel. The pots and pans were horrible and need to be replaced due to after use, even heating them really well with oil, the food stuck like cement to them. The deal breaker for ever renting from this agency again was they changed the lock codes on the doors via their computer system and didnt tell my friends and me. Therefore, after a long day out and about in the heat, we were locked out of the cabin! With MULTIPLE phone calls to the office and waiting about 45 minutes for a return call, we were given the new door code. Also, the check out time is an obnoxiously early 10 AM, and when we asked for an 11 AM check out, the management said yes, but well have to charge you. This is after they locked us out of the cabin! I do not recommend renting from Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals. Look elsewhere.

2022-01-13Horrible, heartbreaking experience overall. We drove many, many hours to Georgia only to receive a cancellation call two hours prior to arrival. This was our holiday vacation and this news left family members in tears and all of us in another state without a place to stay. They offered a two bed home as a substitute starting the next day. However, we rented for 8 people so 2 beds were not comparable to the 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom (which sleeps 9) rental we reserved.I’ve had to follow up with their staff to receive a refund for the property. When preparing for the trip, we had to purchase a lot of warm clothing and spent 300-400 on gas roundtrip. Although a credit for gas was offered during the cancellation call there was no follow up by the business. I had to follow up with them and they offered up to $100 in gas credit which has yet to be received. I also sent a reply about the minuscule amount and the Guest Relations Administrator never responded. Still waiting….There was no discount offered for a future stay.

2022-07-01We were looking for a quiet place to reflect on our past and recharge for the future. The Ole Bear Paw cabin was exactly what we needed. We really enjoyed the hot tub and spending our mornings on the porch with our coffee and the view. The birds provided the music. I recommend the romance package as well. Thanks for a great Anniversary celebration.

2022-05-03We happened to be there for the Trout Festival (which was a plus). We only had to drive 20 minutes to McCaysville which is a quaint little town on the Georgia/Tennessee border!! Dining choices were good.Rustic Sunset cabin was BEAUTIFUL, very spacious with great decks! Cabin is as great as advertised. The game room was a bonus!!

2022-03-15Beautiful getaway. We enjoyed our short stay. Some issues with billing and the entry code to the cabin did not work so we waited in the cold until resolved. Lots of emails and information. The views were amazing, the cabin was great, truly memorable time.

2022-03-304 friends and myself stayed in the Choctaw Ridge cabin for 5 days. Our reason for coming to Blue Ridge was to participate in the Georgia Wine Highway. We were wine hopping most of the day and then we would get back to the cabin and enjoy the evenings. The cabin was exactly what was advertised online. The pictures were very accurate. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook. My friends kept mentioning how comfortable the beds were. The whole process of reserving the cabin, checking in and out, the directions and instructions from SCCR was so smooth and easy. Thank you for such a wonderful spring break! I will use SCCR again.

2021-12-28We had a wonderful Christmas at A Whitewater Retreat. Cabin was very nice, clean and spacious. The creek outside was beautiful. It was so nice to have the fire pit and listen to the water in the creek. Due to traffic we arrived after dark and the road in was a little tricky. The driveway is very steep as well. I suggest arriving while there is still daylight..would be easier to navigate. The cabin was not decorated for Xmas but it was still nice. We visited Blue Ridge, McCaysville and Ellijay. All cute towns to walk around.
