We had a great experience with Specialty Paint & Body. They were very thorough in making sure our car was made as good as new and went above and beyond, customer service wise. Emails were promptly answered and they even took care of our rental needs right on site! They worked hard to make sure the repairs were as hassle free as a thing like that can be!
I had my truck in for repairs last week, awesome service and very friendly. They kept me updated throughout the whole process. The girls up front made me feel at home. Excellent experience and my truck looked new again! Highly recommend them for repairs, will be my go to place if ever needed again!

Very kind, professional, easy to work with staff. Gave me updates every day my car was in the shop so I knew what was happening. Did an amazing job replacing and repainting my bumper. My car is almost 16 years old and the paint is flawlessly matched. Definitely would recommend and visit again.

Cant recommend this place enough! From the moment I first called Specialty Paint & Body to when I picked up my car from repairs, I knew Id be taken care of well. Nicole, the employee that presides over the logistics of customer service, is EXCELLENT and really provides the kind of high-touch customer service one thinks of with excellence.
I came to Specialty Paint & Repair last week with a scratch on my car. I am a new college student and was nervous to handle car repair on my own. The staff was incredibly friendly and quickly found a solution for my car. The woman who helped me made me feel like I had a parent with me. Absolutely excellent staff! I would reccommend to anyone.
They took really good care of my mom. They updated her every step of the way. I called to pay her bill and did not want them to tell her it was me and they said they would not. Mom figured it out but they never told her. Great customer service!
If you feel compelled to wreck your car, this is the place to turn back the clock. Ive had to have vehicles repaired before at different shops and they were terrible, but Specialty Paint & Body were terrific and professional! They made the process extremely easy and pleasant. They are very easy to work with and their shop is immaculate! They had a rental car waiting for me when I dropped my car off and did all the paperwork for me. My car was washed and vacuumed upon return. I would recommend them to anyone. They are the only body shop that I trust. I should wreck my car more often.
Specialty was hands down the easiest part of getting my car fixed after it was hit. They were very professional and worked with me as well as the insurance company to get my car repaired. This shop does superior work, super kind to work with and went above and beyond what was expected. My UGA student’s car got hit by a tree during a recent storm. I am out of state and they did everything possible to make it easy on her for the repairs- including picking it up and driving it back to her due to her busy class schedule. I got my Fusion fixed at Specialty Paint and Body and just received it back yesterday and the repairs look absolutely fantastic! I was asked by my insurance company numerous times if I was sure I wanted to take my car to Specialty as this was not one of their specific repair shops and each time, I answered with an overwhelming yes! and I was not disappointed in my decision! I cannot thank each of you enough for the beautiful work done to my car! Additionally - holy mother of pearl! - the vacuum job done inside the car and the wash job done to my car astounded me! First time Ive had an accident big enough to fix my car and I was nervous on how this process would go, but Im glad I went to Speciality. Really great experience, staff was very friendly, helpful, and they did a great job replacing my drivers side door after a truck knocked a huge dent into it. Very pleased with its fixed appearance.With that said, unfortunately, I did encounter ONE problem- when I hopped back into my car and was ready to drive away, the automatic lock button didnt work on the door that was replaced. I was a little upset, but the staff was very accommodating and actually fixed that problem within the hour despite their busy workload. If something like that is going to happen, Im glad I was at Speciality because they took another look at it immediately rather than making me drive a rental car for another day or two. How can I be upset with service like that?I can see why Speciality Paint & Body Repair was recommended to me- I am overall very pleased with my experience & would definitely use them again.

I had my 2014 Ford Escape fixed where someone hit me. You cant tell that it was even damaged!!! They were very professional and would recommend them to anyone!!! My color is Sunset metallic and they matched it perfectly!!! Great job Specialty!!!
The folks at Specialty were awesome from the moment I walked in. Very friendly and helpful. Talked to me about the different options for my repair, not necessarily just the most expensive. They actually saved me around $500 from the dealers estimate. Even shared some of the owners potato salad with me that they were having for lunch that day. Seriously! And the quality of the work was excellent. I definitely give them the highest recommendation.

After a 6 week long saga with a tire store that caused damage to my van, by forgetting to tighten lugnuts, causing an entire wheel to fall off, I finally got a glimpse of the work today. It looks beautiful. All of the employees have been better than awesome. They went way above and beyond to make sure that ME, the customer was the one that was happy, not the tire store that was paying for the damage. This is hands down the best body work I have seen done in the Athens area! WIsh I could give 10 stars!
I live over an hour and a half away from Specialty Paint & Body. I pass many repair shops to make it to Specialty, but I dont mind a bit! There has been three occasions where Thomas, Janice and the entire crew helped me. The first time was to fix a botched job another repair shop did to my 2012 Acura TL. Specialty made my car look brand new! We used Specialty to repair my Mothers care as well. Her car came out looking brand new too! The kindness and professionalism extended by everyone at Specialty is second to none. If you have a chance, ask them to see the shop where the repairs are done..it is the cleanest car repair shop Ive ever seen! Specialty Paint & Body has been voted the number one shop in the area..they earned it!
My daughter is a student at UGA, is over two hours from home, and had a wreck in Athens. I searched the web for an auto body shop in Athens, and they were awesome. They took good care of her and stayed in contact with me.
I cannot say enough good things about this place! From the estimate through the finished repair, they were great! Their professionalism and repair skills are the best!
My daughter was in an accident in which her SUV was badly damaged. Living two hours away and being unfamiliar with the local body shops, I turned to an acquaintance who recommended Specialty. I called and was assured that the vehicle would be moved from the wrecker company, where it was towed to after the accident, to Specialty. When I arrived that afternoon, I was greeted with smiling faces. The secretary, owner and garage manager all took time to explain their assessment of the damage, which was a total loss.Concerned with what to do with the wreck, they provided the names of three salvage yards and even called one with whom I eventually arrived at a fair agreement.The folks at Specialty put time and effort into my case without financial remuneration.The whole experienced helped to restore my faith that there are still some companies around which have concern for people and are willing to go the extra mile.PV from Martinez, GA
Unprofessional. Deer hit my sons car and they said he was lying. Cost me tons of lost time . Finally got corrected with another body shop. I later tried to verify the other reviewers of this site could not?? Go hear if you have time for trailer park drama. Worst thing is I think being a veteran caused the animosity. I get it if you do not like veterans fine just do not take it out on my 19 YO son.
I went in to get an estimate to respray my hood, as the clearcoat had begun to separate, and I wanted to get a pair of rust bubbles taken care of. The secretaries were polite and pleasant, and we chatted about the car as I filled out my paperwork. The tech came out from the back, and without even seeing my car told me Well, we do more collision repair here. I said Dont you have a paint gun in the back?, and, quickly, sorry if that sounded rude. He said, Yeah, but not one that fits Jaguars. I was stunned for a moment, immediately realizing I had been insulted and denied service without a real explanation. I left. Seems odd to me- it says PAINT and BODY right there on the building, and I came in wanting to spend money on PAINT and BODY work. Had he said The job is too small. or I hate your pretentious British sports car and your stupid face. Leave. then it would have been understandable, but I was completely patronized and told, essentially, your moneys no good here. Perhaps if I struck my hood repeatedly with a hammer, he would have consented to paint it? We may never know. Glad theyre too rich to need the work. Shame- he could have given the nice secretaries a bonus.

Had to get some dents pulled from my car here due to hail damage. They were helpful, quick, and the work was pretty amazing if you saw the before/after photos.

2022-01-11Josh was wonderful and I enjoyed the fact that you can receive updates via text message but the office manager Janice needs to work on her customer service. I did not like that she tried to argue with me about my car insurance policy and what’s covered and not covered. Every time I had to interact with her via phone, she was not pleasant until I picked my car up. Even then she still was trying to tell me misleading information about my car and insurance policy. Everything else was good minus Janice.

2022-05-09When my Subaru was backed into and needed a door replaced, I decided to go with Specialty (instead of my insurance-recommended repair shop), even though the intake took longer (earliest appointment in 6 weeks). Main factors for this decision were that Specialty does Subaru-certified repairs and has consistently great reviews, as well as lack of transparency from the insurance-approved shop. Both shops (and two insurance companies involved) agreed on the extent of the damage but the repair estimate from Specialty was $ 1,400 more since they have a much more thorough repair approach and also include pre-repair and post-repair scans, and re-calibration of Eyesight. This was more important to me than receiving the car back faster with an express repair. Everyone at Specialty was so nice through the entire process. After a long 6-week wait (car was drive-able), work began immediately after drop-off and the car was ready for pick-up 2 days before the 10-day window initially given, even though they were down one painter that week. The repair involved a lot of dismantling of the interior and repainting of the entire left side of the car, and I was a bit nervous about that; but the car was returned to me in what I would call factory-new condition. Everything works (lots of electronics), everything is fitted back together nicely, and the paint matches perfectly in any light. There is no way to tell that anything ever happened to this car! Aside from doing excellent repair work, Specialty is also extremely knowledgeable about coordinating things with insurance companies and third party vendors, and kept me posted on any developments as needed. There were a few minor miscommunications but nothing dramatic. Getting your car damaged and dealing with claims and collision repair is always a huge inconvenience and hassle, but the actual repair part was the easiest in the whole process, thanks to Specialty. A friend of mine had their car at the other location at the same time (after an 8-week intake and some third-party delays) and was equally impressed with the work. Highly recommended!

2021-09-15Ive had great service from them. My insurance company is dragging their feet but the folks here have kept me updated and benn patient with my questions. I have learned a lot about what has to happen in this type of business. I have a lot of trust in these folks.Edit: Even though the car was a total loss, they were very helpful with the whole process. I ended up filing a complaint with my state insurance commission to get the insurance company to follow through. Again, these people did everything right to help resolve the whole thing!

2020-10-14Needed a repair shop after a kid ran into the back of my Ford Escape. Janice and Ricky were very helpful and pleasant through the entire process. They did a great job and got done sooner than estimated. I wont go anywhere else after this positive experience.

2018-02-23Posting this review because I read another post about being unable to verify other reviews. I used Specialty Paint and Body after my brand new truck was backed into by a trailer in a parking lot. After working with them I am convinced this is the best paint and body shop in Athens, and certainly the best that I have ever worked with. During the inspection two employees took pictures and detailed notes regarding the different damage areas, right down to a nick on one of the wheels (which they had repaired/reconditioned as part of the scope of the work). I am extremely particular about my vehicles and I can say with certainty that the repair work done was superb. The paint work necessary was done seamlessly (one whole door skin was replaced and painted). The new paint was a bit hazy and showed signs of swirling for about 6 weeks until cured (I was told to expect this), after which I applied a good coat of wax and never looked back. For what it is worth, my insurance company rated this shop so highly that they offered a lifetime warranty on all repairs. The repairs were completed on time as well, which I understand is not commonly the case with body shops. I would recommend this shop to anyone in need of paint and/or body work without hesitation.

2014-09-19I came to Specialty Paint & Body because someone had scraped against my rear bumper. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable about what they do. I also got an estimate on another unrelated scrape on my vehicle and checked it with my brother who has several years experience in the paint and body field. They were spot on. My car looks like new now, the paint job matches the rest of my car perfectly. I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely be coming here from now on should any of my vehicles need it. My husband also totaled the front end of his car and they gave an honest estimate and great advice that ended in us deciding to sell the car instead of getting it fixed. Even though that meant that they would not be getting the business to fix it, they have enough respect for their customers not to screw them over. I dealt with mainly Janice during these encounters and she was wonderful! It really means a lot to me to know that I have a reliable place to take my vehicles especially since moving here so far from home. I hope this review helps!
