I visited few Indian groceries in neighborhood but Spices Hut - surprised me with choices and options. In terms of items and brands, availability Spices Hut beats others well.So many choices in Frozen foods, well laid out aisles, faster check out, attached bakery and few snack items Spices Hut is a complete package for your weekly/monthly groceries shopping.Beware of shortage of Parking space on Saturday evening- I could see it a bit crowded.
Shop here regularly. They do have a decent selection of Indian groceries and also like the butcher shop inside the store. Dont much care for the restaurant inside the store. The place is conveniently located and doesnt get as busy as some of the other Indian stores in the area.
One of the best indian grocery store in the area. You will find almost everything here. The fast food corner in the shop has best Samosa in town. A must try if you are a samosa lover. They have variety of other indian snacks and sweets too.A must try fast food restaurant if you want true indian taste.
If I could I will give Zero stars - Multiple issues with the store. We bought Jeera Samba rice jut a week back and opened it today to see that it’s completely gone bad (see pictures). Unfortunately I didn’t have the receipt. We recently moved to the area and didn’t expect this. They post some price near and the product and charge something else, when I asked they said that is the price and we can’t change it. All organic products overcharged at least 3-4s” dollars. Worst customer service bad products and cheating. Avoid even if you have to go a couple of extra miles to another store.
Worst customer service ever ! I can’t suggest you enough not to go to this store !! The cashier was very rude and sledging us for not wearing mask. I agree that we should have wore masks but he could have said it politely. When we asked about this behavior to the cashier he was just trying to get rid of us.
We have been regularly ordering take-aways from here but over last few months the food quality has been going down. It feels like the kitchen owners are not able to keep up with the order inflow. We saw multiple people arguing about delays and long wait times. The food that we ordered, despite mentioning the spice levels, was almost bland. I really wish the place tightens its grip over process and quality control or will have to suffer.Posting this review to see if others had a similar experience or was it just one of the bad days.
I ordered chicken curry through Grubhub. First time they wrapped the chicken curry container in plastic wrap and followed my instructions of no curry leaves as I don’t like them and food was very tasty. I was about to give them 5 stars. Today I ordered the same and they didn’t wrap or followed the order about curry leaves. I couldn’t eat that chicken curry. I would like to give it one more chance but they have to follow the instructions
It has been a saviour for me from the time I came to Alpharetta. The prices are nominal and over the time it has expanded its store to have its own meat department and its Kitchen. If you are staying close to this place, its a good place to hangout for a evening snack once in a while.
We like the store, selection but the manager is very rude. On Tuesday I bought groceries, produce, chicken, mutton, wheat flour and Royal Basmati rice. On Thanksgiving day when we opened the bag of rice the seal was broken and the plastic bag inside was open. When we called the store the manager was very uncooperative and even when we asked his name he never gave us his name and hung up.
A lot of his inventory is expired or almost at the verge of going bad. Husband and wife who are also the owners are not very helpful to help find items in the store knowing the store is a mess. On the food side they are insanely cheap with the quantity of food they serve and want to squeeze every single dime out from the customer by charging them for extra.Go somewhere else, save your money and potential food poisoning by eating expired items.
Bland food even after mentioning the spice levels. Instead of accepting the fact the lady keeps on arguing that this is the first time she got that complaint. Looks like she either dont check the Google reviews or she is telling blatant lies. I recommend her to check the reviews... There is one posting under saurabh Agarwal who mentioned the same. I wasted my $20 and my guests are not happy. This is the second time I was disappointed.Earlier I ordered few items and that person called me and said they dont have one of the items and will give a different item. I agreed and I didnt notice that there is a price difference. The substitute item is less price. Again this lady gave a onion samosa and another item to compensate the difference. I told her I didnt order since I never knew there is a price difference. Instead of explaining that she is just making up the difference she said Im just giving as if it is free. I only realized after I came out of the store that those samosas are not free. Basically I dont trust these guys.
The worst management. There is no one to take the order. The person at the desk saw us standing there to order but he didn’t came to take the order. He literally took 15 min to take the order and no kidding more than 45 min to give the order. And not well maintained. The tables are left unclean without taking away the used plates and stuff. There are 4 tables in total. Same situation with the 4 tables.
I went to check out this store as I was nearby. I found out that its a bit on higher side for the cost of regular items, that other Indian stores provide within 10 miles of it. Its a pretty small store for emergency pickups. The mini snack area was also deficit of the goodies that they intend to sell, so I reduced the stars.
We ordered mirchi bajji , samosa, pastries.Mirchi bajji by looks is good but taste is worst. They were not fresh. Atleast 3 days old.Looking at the traffic they have, I never expected food to be not fresh.Samosas are just OK.Pastries were not fresh at all. After calling them they promised to refund money. Will never try food here again.
I used to go this store from past many years. But Last year they had the bad staff.. the lady cashier and old guy was always with angry face and never been helpful and they behave rudely with the customers. So I stopped going to that store. After an Year I started visiting the store again from last one month, now the new lady cashier is very good, almost I visited 3 times in this month she always keep on smile and very helpful. And the grocery is also increased now than before, food court and meat. Everything at one place now. They have lots of stock now. I highly recommend this store now. I request the owner to keep such staff always. If staff is good, then only the customer growth increases.
This is not a restaurant. This is scam. When you will order online they will charge you. After few minutes you will get a call and they will say we are out of the item you ordered. Please cancel online. There is no option to cancel online. When you see their refund policy online, they mentioned that come to the store or call to cancel but they won’t do over phone. Very rude people. Very bad experience.
Offer halal chicken goat. Good market. This is our go-to for rice, spices and veggies. Good prices, kind owners and staff. No frills, s bit like a warehouse. Aldo have limited hit food kitchen and some houseware items. Check out store from front to back. There are dairy items cheese in back of store too
We used to regularly to meat section because this is near to home this is the only reason we have to go here. Some of the employees in the meat section are helpful but I think owner(guessing) , he is very rude. In grocery section prices are high compared to other places. Food court sometimes snacks are not fresh that we Will realize only after bringing home. I don’t refer any friend here until if it is urgent
One of the best place to get goat meat I have tried two other shops whose selling goat but my wife didn’t like it. The meat is almost fresh and tasty too, I love it. The vegetables and other items are looks pricey and sometimes I feel the veggies are not fresh. I gave three stars just for meat.
A staple typical indian grocery store that is found in every city in the US. Spice hut does have almost all the require that you would have, and fresh produce as well, but their prices are on the higher side. You can compare the prices with other grocery stores and feel the pinch in the pocket. Otherwise, it is pretty good place and has a section for indian type pastries and fried snacks too.
Nice place to hang out some time with friends and family.. evening snacks are really good not disappointed. Almost all snacks tastes good and delicious though!Onion samosa and bajji is my favorite one’s.. if you like southern India chat items then don’t miss out this place! Have fun!!
Great little neighborhood Indian grocery store.I love this place. The parking lot is spacious, so you can park without fear that you’ll come back to a ding in your car door.Has fresh fruits and vegetables (bitter melon, snake gourd, ginger, chilies, green banana, jackfruit, guavas), frozen stuff (amla, sapota), dried beans and lentils, spices, and extras (mango pickles). There’s an attached restaurant where you can get fresh sugar cane juice.Highly recommended.
I have been here multiple time now. I like the store. It is pretty decent and organized. However, the attached restaurant is another matter. Small items such as Samosa, aaloo bonda, etc are pre-heated or at least they taste like it. Other main course food items, which I think is freshly made, is okay but expensive compared to the set-up they have.
Food Court: Poor Quality, Poor Service and they prefer Cash, I am not sure what is the reason.Grocery : Prices are way higher than other places.if you are able to drive littler far then you can get cheaper grocery than here.Meat Section: Quality is not good.Overall disappointed.
Pretty neat and clean store with decent variety of foods. Veggies were fresh. Prices were comparable with other Indian stores in and around Atlanta. Prices may be little more (not a significant difference) than Patels but thats justified due to the turnover. All the items that I purchase (rice, flour, snacks etc) had at least 8 months to expire, so no issues.
This is a store where one will get all the required groceries. Bhartiya brands like Patanjali, Meswak etc are available. Priya brand pickle which i took tasted spicy and delicious. Bhel, Farsana, fresh fruits, vegetables & including SG cricket bats, Carroms are available. Must visit for all Bhartiyas residing in Alpharetta and nearby areas.
Its an awesome place for Desi grocery shopping. Its nice and spacious compared to other Desi stores which are congested. You can find all sorts of Desi snacks too. I am giving five stars because this is the only place close to Alpharetta where I can find Everyday tea whitener 😊
Really bad experience! we have been buying weekly groceries for 2 years form Spice Hut. We went to return two packets of noodles which had worms in them, and we had opened one of them / cut the packet and dropped the noodles in boiling water & then realized that the worms came up in the water - the Spice Hut owner refused to refund 99 cents for the packet which was opened !!!! The owner was willing to lose a customer who was regular customer spending over $ 3000 per year with them. Too bad behavior. Deserves zero star...
Their groceries are ok, but their prepared food is terrible in quality. We had one good experience with their chicken curry and Gulab jamun but have since been disappointed twice over with subsequent orders of Kababs and a curry. Apart from that they do not maintain their surroundings clean and are quite unprofessional in their service.
Good place to buy Indian groceries. Needs to be a lot more organised in the way the items are placed. Quite a few times price for the items are missi g on the shelves they are placed. Have had a couple of instances where the billing was incorrect for some items, specifically vegetables as there are more than 1 variety of the same vegetable priced differently. Would suggest the person at the billing counter to check with the customer before assuming that the item billed is always the higher priced item. Could be a genuine error but can be definitely avoided. This has made me check the bills everytime I go there to ensure I am not paying more. This is not something I would normally do due to the trust factor though it should be done for every bill.
They advertise as fresh halal meat but they sold me frozen goat meat. When i have asked about the same they acted as if they are not aware of this and the owner and employee was very mean and rude over the phone. This place is 40 mins away fromMe and on weekday traffic imagine how painful it will be.Inspite of refunding me back my money they asked me to bring the meat to the store so they can refund me the money.my evening plans got messed up and going back again 40 mins is very painful but it is very pathetic that the owner could not understand the customer’s pain and leaving all this a side he was very rude .Stay away dont buy anything here there are tons of other stores close by no one sells frozen meats or stale products .Spices hut is there to cheat the customers .
This review is especially for the business owner. I wish I could give no star or negative stars for owners rude behavior towards customers. Try to change your attitude and control your temper(for no bloody reason) towards customers and try to show it on the taste of your cafe food and sell good food instead!!!!!
Convenient for Indian foods and supplies. Not much room to move about, and the store can get fairly dirty. They are also changing up their layout, which isnt much of an improvement, but boats more space. Other than that, good place for masala, vegetables, and other Indian foods.
About three weeks weeks ago I bought 10 pounds of Lakshi atta. When I opened it, flies started coming out of the bag. I did not have time to go back and let the store people know. So, I just trashed the bag and let it go. Twos days ago, I bought some packaged snacks (Haldiram Boondi, Gujrati dry samosa, Kachori) and they were old and stale. I took the snacks back to the store to show them (I did not ask for refund) and have them remove the old stock from the snack isle. Guy at the counter got annoyed by this and just took a look at the stuffs and trashed it. They do not seem to care about providing quality service. Ill not buy packaged groceries from this store anymore because I cant tell weather it is old stock or not. .
Spices hut improved very good. This is store is maintained by indian employees(Telugu)..who has talk irresponsibly to there customers.. especially in meat store.., Godavari crystal rice they sell... its very good... but recently the godavari crystal rice bag isn’t in good qlty..crystal rice with traditional sona masoori rice... charge crystal rice priceSecond review: took their in house pickles. Its over priced for the veg. We can try for import qtly with best price. In the racks they are very dis-organized. 0 veg fresh on Monday..
Go to Cherians, Suvidha or another Indian store. This is an update to my previous review, I was their customer for many years, it was convenient for me to pick up Indian grocery items. Today I went there to complain about the, Punjabi Samosa, (packed box), that had big green fungus all over the samosas. Item is still packed. A person named Suresh,(Manager) was very rude and aggressive, almost attacked me, completely refused to take any responsibility. I expected a SORRY, but no, he was furious, blamed me for not having receipt, and the need to keep it in freezer. ( I did that), when I asked for the owner, he just disappeared, I asked the other staff where did he ran off to ? No answer ???
1. If they sell hand-cut meat instead of machine cut, I would give 1 more star.2. They also sell goat liver, but beware they mix it with heart and kidney. You need to tell them that you only want to liver.3. Rest of the grocery store is good. You get almost everything that is needed for day-to-day. Price is average.4. They have started a mini restaurant. Indian snacks, chat is good.5. Dont miss the chai here.
Would love to give a 0 if I can . The mustache Indian guy who is sometimes in the meat section as well is extremely rude . Makes you feel like he is a doing a favor , he doesn’t need to run a store with so much impatience and attitude .I can only imagine how his employees feel . Hate this store to the core !!
Apart from quality of food, it’s very important to maintain the standards of respecting the customers. People who are in the counters behaves so indescent and doesn’t even listen customers what they want. They allow customers to stay in line a lot of time without even pleasing them. If they really have that rush , they should hire someone instead of loosing customers patience by not even giving excuses. The worst experience me and many of my friends had with their service. Waste of giving at least a single star if we compare with suvidha....
I visit this place weekly for grocery. Must say they improved after renovation. Earlier it wasnt arranged properly. They have small packets too which I find helpful as we sometimes dont need things in bulk. Chicken section is also there and fresh ready food is available too. Overall good place to buy indian grocery.
Pros:1) great location and approach (can be viewed from on old milton pkwy)2) Decent groceries, meat and poultry selection.Cons:3) Great spice collection.Cons:1) Untidy and dirty (Probably the dirtiest) washroom I have seen in years.2) Veggies are not fresh.3) Slow service and billing.
Packaged food have insects in them. I went and took back thick rice poha with live insects. The staff could care less and said people buy from other store and bring it here. Really who has the time to do that. They did not refund me the money - which was not much. I cant feed insect ridden food to my family. Dont plan to go thereagain. They need a good inspection by food authority.
Average store with average and expensive options for food. The meat store they have is honestly the only attraction for this store. Overpriced grocery options, very limited variety exorbitantly slow checkout process is very normal. The cafe is ok-ok but again, really really slow. Have an alternative option of at least lot of time in your hand if you have to go this place.
Very good Indian grocery store. You can get Indian spices, vegetables, ready-made foods. Pakistani spices brands are also available. Spices has all variety like north ,south Sindhi, Maharashtra . Even snacks options are also available. Raw meat has separate section. There is one small area for snacks I.e. samosa, jalebi, pastries, puff and more. You can also get gutkha like RMD, rajnigandha, Tulsi.
Bad Quality Food Products in this Store. Recently i brought a food product from here, after opening the packet it smells very bad and when i went to return, the owner refuses to take it and he defends its good. The quality sucks. All the good ratings on this store are few years back.
We have been purchasing here for long time. But yesterday the staff charged 5 times the normal price. On investigation there was not good response. Looks like we need to find another store with honest staff. With a busy schedule its hard to check each an every item on the bill. I have doubts that they have been over charging for long. God help them...
Very worst grocery shop..they are selling expired products.i found out that the gingelly oil I bought was expired a month before and went to return them immediately. The guy in the counter didnt care about anything and another went to check for an exchange . But all they have was expired products only. They dont have the courtesy to say sorry..Will never recommend this place to anyone. Some of our friends also had the same experience here
These guys started selling expired food. Have told them several times that the products are expiring. They have been pasting stickers on the packets. Watch out for Khakhara packets. Liquid Tamrind etc. Do not buy any product without the expiry date. These guys are goofing up.Earlier management 2 years back were good. This guy seems to be another corrupted Indian selling expired products
Located at the heart of Alpharetta with lot of Indian communities around, so super convenient to just pop in and get what you need. But BEWARE while buying snacks and condiments(pickles etc) - check for the EXPIRY date. Almost all the snacks Ive bought here were expired and not fresh. And the returns process is not easy either as in you got to prove that you bought it there(even with a receipt). So do your due diligence and check the expiry dates. Otherwise just go to Cherians/Suvidha/Patel for snacks and you wont be disappointed.
This guy will sell you any bad product and will not accept returns. He does not have any business ethics. He put a sign for big sale sign for Nank Paneer - and refused to give discount for the same as he mentions Nanak Malai Paneer - kept right next to regular paneer - with no price tag underneath - did not qualify. Several products without proper price tags.Few weeks ago - he refused to accept back - Golden Temple Floor - which had some creepy crawlers - and had no clue that it was a product recalled by FDA. Hope some food inspectors - inspect his place for the quality of food he carries - and should not be allowed to sell/expand his business.
Sort of Indian Restaurant attached to grocery store.Very grubby and untidy.Went to use bathroom , I thought I was in a third country , disgusting dirt,Floors and sinks grubby dirty. When I walked pass the kitchen the frozen chicken were on the open floor probably to defrost.I will never put my foot in this dirty place again.
Went to Spice Hut Food Court and meat shop. The food ordered were prepared tastefully. The stores Food Court is very new and needs much customer input. As an example, at lunch they offer Thali, which is plate full of 3 or more items. The problem was their understanding of the tray of food. They ask if you want a non-veg item or vegetarian Thali. Dependent upon the main non- vegetarian thali the pricing of that plate or Thali determined. If you ask for goat or chicken, they are supposed to give importance to this item usually. It seems they still need much training in this area. I gave my two cents of advice to the owner, who was not only gracious, he was also open to suggestions and seemed eager to make a success of his new Food Court. I suggest everyone should try this place out. The price is right here! The chicken fried rice ( Indian- Chinese style) was excellent. So were chicken and goat curry and some other vegetarian appetizer.
I have been going to this store regularly until now. But i will never go back to this store again. Very bad customer service brought a big bag of onions and the whole bag has damaged onions. Immediately called them within 5 mins of reaching home to see if i can return them. They are very stubborn about their policy with vegetables saying that vegetables cannot be taken back.
I got a small mortar from the store. It started rusting within couple of weeks. When I went to return they were pretty stubborn on returning it. No warranties. Nothing could be returned. Very poor customs service too. No wonder they have only couple of people shopping at any time.
Beware of their billing your purchase. They do double charge though you buy 1 quantity of an item. And you have to dispute on the same day for any issues. Otherwise your money is lost with them. They dont even know how to treat long time customers. very poor customer service.
A largely expanded store which would be more enjoyable with a smile and kindness, as opposed to the crude approach of we are here, take it or leave it! They Need to learn from the competition, especially Cherians which is 3 miles away. For people living on old Milton parkway and its immediate vicinity, its convenient. But they run out of certain vegetables done days, or freezer breakdowns sometimes. Overall this place is convenient, if its on the way, but could use a facelift of kind attitude. The highlight is the next door Jerusalem bakery for some very good trading middle eastern food!
Its a good place to get all Indian grocery, fresh meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, evening snacks, chat, pani Puri, biryani and various food items. Not to forget you can shop for household utensils and Pooja items all in one place.if you like samosa( hot) do visit spice hut.Friendly staff and with good parking lot.
I had bad experience with this store, when I tried to return the item which is not good quality, he behaved rude and was telling lies. We never had discussion about return policy but he was saying that “I already told you I won’t take return this item “ I don’t recommend this place at all.
Dont expect that you can return anything back to this store... worst experience. They will make any kind of excuse to make sure that you cant return. sir, we need to receipt in order to return ..if you show receipt ...sir this item was purchased week before and we take only within week. I am never going back
We were looking for a specific kind of beverage. Which we were not able to find any where so I wouldve been fine with them telling me they didnt have it, but on the phone they said they had it in stock. We drove far to get there only to find they lied over the phone.
Please take care while buying items from this store.Let me share my experience , I have bought a rice bag from this store and went home and opened the bag and see lot of bugs in it and immediately returned with in an hour, the person in the store refused to refund and forced to buy other items.I will never buy any items from this store and wont recommend.

2022-04-03Tried the restaurant .. tried Nattu Kodi Biryani and Masala Dosa .. along with fee snacks.. all were pretty good.. although felt all were a bit spicy to our taste buds.. usually we eat spicy food.. though this felt a tad spicy to handle .. service was great too.. staff were polite and prompt..Seating is limited and it is just a space that is allocated along with the indian super market

2021-11-02I would give it a negative score if that was an option. The manager is rude and obnoxious. Purchased an appliance from the store which did not work ( the plug will not go into the electric outlet). He refused to take a return - I had the receipt - which is their stated policy.Really disappointed. I just left the non working appliance with him without a refund. Please beware before purchasing anything from this store

2022-05-13We ordered a take out Ulvachar chicken curry and butter nan from the restaurant inside the store. The curry was too salty and the Nan was dry and salty. Seem like the chef poured salt in Curry to mask the taste and Nan seem old and reheated. We had to throw both away. It was too late to go back to store. Really disappointed and will not be going back to this restaurant. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone. I could have given 0 stars if there was an option.

2021-10-31I wish I had option to rate ZERO. Very unfriendly staff in grocery and meat section (however the restaurant staff were very friendly comparatively) . The lady at the billing in the grocery store especially was very rude, arrogant and un-polite with customers and talking of meat, person in the meat section didn’t care to even weight the meat, charged us for asked (4lbs) but ended up giving just 2lbs meat with full fat despite of clearly mentioning No Fat at the counter. Was very careless creating UNTIDY atmosphere. I myself would never go back to this store for groceries or meat and neither would recommend this to anyone.

2022-05-15No complain of food. Its frozen, so we know what we are looking for. But but....Rude owner. Was looking for mangoes, Saw Kesar Mangoes here. Asked the owner if we can open the box and see them before buying as they are super expensive ($50/box). Very rude she said NO with attitude....But otherwise, other people are helpful...

2022-05-06Pathetic service with store manager and literally they will charge you more than the normal bill and if you question them they feels like you are taking their money from the counter. Dude(specially with eye glasses) nothing is free in this world and even customers are not expecting to stole something from your store.....fix your display price and then raise your voice on customers. The displayed bill on the shelf and the billing on the receipt will be different. Even the food and meat at the kitchen feels like they are cooking with leftover meat from the grocery section. Better stay away from this grocery store and for sure this store will learn a lesson soon and its very near by....

2022-03-19Rude employees and store managers. Guys in the meat always tricks the customers by picking meat with just fat and bones. Looks like they leave the chicken overnight and when they are closed in a shelf that’s not temperature controlled and they sell to the customers. Is it legal to sell the meat without packed date/sell by information? I bought a bag of chicken Monday and it’s got a foul smell. I asked the guy if this was packed today, he said yes. It is definitely not. Never go to this shop to buy groceries or meat!

2022-03-14We visited the Restaurant inside the grocery store. Ordered Veg Manchurian, Masada Dosa, and Paneer Biryani at medium spice level. Food was excellent. Will come back for sure . Their medium spice level is little higher for kids (I recommend ordering mild or no spice for kids). Overall good experience.

2022-04-22Good place for indian groceries. I would suggest these people for goat meat. The meat has always been tender and never disappointed. Buy the goat front leg which is the best

2022-05-04I’ve experienced two instances of wrongful billing and I am very sure that it was not just an oversight. I even confronted the person at the front desk and they brushed it off saying they were looking up the price of the item and inadvertently added to my bill. It happened to me again today. Please be extremely watchful while purchasing items here.
