My mother and I had to come to the area for very unfortunate funeral arrangements. The staff here was phenomenal. They gave us a bereavement rate and two of the biggest rooms I’ve ever seen. Our rooms had a kitchenette area, desk, walk in closet. It was nicer than my first apartment by a lot. Regarding the room conditions- top notch. They were some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Ever pulled out the nightstand to plug in my phone, always a hazard. The entire area was completely clean. You know if they clean behind furniture they’re doing a good job. I cannot comment on the breakfast as I didn’t see it or eat it but I’d imagine it’s top notch. Overall I was very impressed. The room price was way more reasonable than back home in Detroit. Very good people here and although I’ll likely never be back I hope this review will be thank you enough for taking care of my grieving family.
When I choose to stay at chain hotels its because I expect consistency, most times you arent surprised. Here the hotel is showing its age. The fixtures, carpet, colors, finishes, etc. are tired and well worn.Nothing was broken or inoperable, just tired. My room was clean. The staff however makes up for any deficiencies of the facility. Friendly, welcoming, and genuine. I would stay again, but a renovation would be welcomed.
We chose this hotel because the rooms hold up to 6 people and come with mini kitchens. This afforded our guests a lot of flexibility. The location is perfectly situated for entertainment and leisure. The staff were very friendly and accommodated our every request. They are serving a hot breakfast each morning, too, which was a real hit.
Not as pictured on the website. Staff was nice. Breakfast was tasty. Pool was clean. Website offered cots as an option, but upon arrival staff indicated there are and have never been cots, that we should use the pull out couch. Pull out couch literally touched the other bed and made it impossible to walk through the room. We were given a wheelchair accessible room, which was fine except my child could reach and unlock the door.
This hotel continues it trend of good one year and horrible the next. 2 housekeeping visits in 14 days. Breakfast was cereal bowls with very vanilla or chocolate soy milk, packaged banana nut muffins, and either an egg white sandwich or a non-meat product sandwich. We had to purchase our own toilet paper and cleaning supplies. We were informed rooms are cleaned every 3 days and then told they are only cleaned by request. A $20 per day charge is included in your bill for the pantry in the lobby even though we never used it. And it was not told to us until the day before we left. Only bright spot was Jordan who got housekeeping to clean our room and explained the pantry charge to us. The hotel still needs major changes and upgrades. Probably the final time we stay there after 5 years in a row. Extremely disappointing especially during pandemic times!!
I would recommend the hotel, Noah at the front desk was awesome. I did have a couple issues though. I was initially put into a room on the 4th floor. The phone did not work in that room which creeped me out, so I tried to call the front desk or the hotel from my cell phone and could not reach them the phone would ring and then hang up immediately. I called my daughter to try to call as well thinking maybe it was just the cell service, but the same thing happened when she called. Mind you I had arrived around 11:45 at night. By about 1:00 a.m. I was finally able to reach the front desk, spoke to Noah explain the circumstances and he came up and check the phone very quickly and came back promptly with a key to a new room on the 5th floor. He had already checked the room out and the phone did work. He was very pleasant and professional as well. I will say that the rooms are EXTREMELY dated. THE CARPET AND CURTAINS IN BOTH OF THE ROOMS THAT I WAS IN WERE FILTHY. I definitely do not feel that extra protocol was done due to covid I felt very germy touching anything. The hotel is nice and the lobby area, but Im pretty sure all the rooms are similar to the one that I was in and you guys need a major overhaul. You are at the Mall of Georgia which is growing rapidly with many many new businesses and new apartment complex and additional new hotels coming into the neighborhood, with the way the rooms look I definitely think that you guys will be the last choice for somebody if they have a more current modern place to stay.
My stay at this hotel was horrible. I was there for my cousins wedding. She made a group block for her guest and I was to stay at the hotel for 3 nights. This stay was cut super short. I walked into the room and the smell was horrible. The carpets were horrendous. I complained about the issue but nothing was done. I told my cousin about this being that she made the group block (Gaston/Bonnett wedding). She and her future husband spoke with the GM. She expressed how rude he was and that he didnt nothing. She informed me that her and her fiancé went out to purchase a shampoo machine for the housekeeping staff. The was crazy! They spent their own money to ensure that the guest they had coming had clean room!I will never stay here again. Im upset about stay and Im upset that my cousin had to worry about room cleanliness the day before her guest arrived. The General Manager should take more pride in his property. If I could give this hotel a 0 I would. NEVER STAY HERE! If you have a complaint nothing will be done.
This was a great place to unwind and relax for the weekend. My wife and I enjoyed this hotel and the responsiveness of the staff to our needs. We had one situation where the garbage truck woke us up at 3:25 in the morning but Vernon was all over it and apologized for our weekend starting off so early. we will be back to enjoy this area.
When booking my stay, I had some high hopes since it was in a great location. Staff was friendly, place was clean, not too far from stores including the mall. But, it had some downfalls that kinda puts this place towards the bottom of my list of “will stay again”. I was never told how much the incidental fee was going to be as I was checking in. I only found out after checking my account. When getting to the room some of the lights didn’t work, we also did not have a remote for the TV and had to go ask for one at the front desk. The pillows were too small for my liking. I’ve never seen a hotel with square pillows until now. I’m a pillow snuggler, so it’s just a personal preference for me. Overall, it’s a decent place. I’ve been in worse places and I will say this is nice. But just based on my experience, I don’t think this will go to my top list of places I’ll stay at again.
This was supposed to be a nice surprise overnight stay for us. The lobby smelled of cigarette smoke in the non smoking hotel. The smell continued to the hallway of our floor. The air conditioner unit had a musty smell which made both of us sick. Definitely not a good experience and not the typical Marriott experience either. The location is great and convenient to I-85 and many places for entertainment.
The room had a musty mildew smell. When the air conditioning came on it was worse. Carpet was dirty and stained. This was a two-bedroom sweet and one of the bed covers of the mattress was stained. The tub had hair in it and the tub had multiple repairs visible. Staff however was nice.
The staff at this hotel is extremely accommodating, friendly and courteous. The rooms were averagely clean however, the shower curtain liner had yellowing and mildew at the bottom which had me concerned as to how well the rooms were cleaned between patrons stays. Breakfast had a vast selection from which to choose but the hot sandwiches were disappointing! This was a hit or miss stay but I wouldnt rule it out to stay in the future.
We had a large group and had 5 rooms. Stayed 5 nights. 2 of the rooms were so dirty and disgusting the family members changed hotels. One room, wedding rings were left… by mistake.. room cleaned… no rings… breakfast was horrible, poor selection and had to beg for coffee each morning. Some of the staff very friendly and helpful, some could care less or annoyed if asked a question.
This place really cares about the customers and it shows. To the manager to the staff always pleasant and accommodating. Im in a wheel chair and there disabled room was a Nice size with roll in shower. The pool and hot tub both have lifts. The breakfast is great. And I can say enough about how good the staff was here. World recommend to everyone and your right across the street to the mall of Georgia. Tons of food walking distance from the hotel. Give them a try you wont be sorry. Only thing about this area is theres no Handicap cabs. But everything is in walking distance.
Most terrible hotel i’ve ever stayed in. It’s the furthest thing from modern—I felt like I was in the early 2000s. It’s so old. I had the worst experience here! They accuse guests of smoking in hotel rooms without any evidence. I was charged $265 and the hotel “manager” would not reverse the charge. I don’t even smoke and I explained that to him several times and he would not listen. He was useless. The room and bathroom were not clean! There was pee stains all over the toilet. I do not recommend this trashy hotel to anyone. Waste of money! STAY AWAY!
My daughter had come down for a visit & we stayed here. Very nice accommodations! Feels soooo super expensive when you walk in, only it is priced very competitively. All the staff we were in contact with were so extremely attentive & helpful. All very considerate! We enjoyed our stay very much! Will be back!
I just completed a one night stay at this hotel. I agree with other viewers that from the outside, you get the impression of a modern hotel. I also stayed at another Spring Hill Suites in Orlando and it was modern, had a bar and restaurant. However, this hotel, gave the illusion of modern but once inside, it was very dated and in need of a serious remodel that fits the brand and the area. The room ok, the kitchenette was a plus, but the beds were full size, not Queens. There were stains on the carpet, stains on the sofa, and hair on the bed. I also found a long piece of womens hair on the back of the bathroom door...SMH. the wallpaper in the sink area was peeling, the shower line was too short to fit inside the tub, causing water to get on the floor. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. They served sausage egg and check sandwiches and egg white sandwiches. There was orange juice, coffee, yogurt. Cereal, instant grits and oatmeal. They also provided bananas. Overall, it served the purpose for a one night stay but I wont be returning to this particular property unless its updated.
After 2 days of the air conditioner blowing musty/moldy smelling air, I have been sick with sinus and head congestion. Carpet dirty and bathroom floor and tub had hair from previous occupant. Will not stay here again.Update:Owner left reply and blamed it on the changing weather! Maybe change out the filter on the air conditioner? Especially with Covid! That should tell You all you need to know. I will go back to country inn and suites around the corner. They are spotless.
Room was big and the mini kitchen was a nice touch. But when I first walked in, it had a really bad humid smell. I just toughed it out since I was only staying two nights. On the outside hotel looks modern, though in the room I can tell it was outdated. Curtains has blood stains which are clearly visible. Cant imagine how that happened. Staff was friendly.
Stay was uneventful the only issues were that the room smelled when we got in it because the a/c had been turned off. the beds only had 3 pillows not 4 there was no shampoo or other amenities in the room, there were 2 bars of face soap no bath soap. The room was not tech savvy no USB ports to charge phones and the TV was situated such that it couldnt be watched from bed. There was a free breakfast but we didnt partake so cant offer any info as to the food.
Hotel was in a great area for food and shopping. Room was very outdated. Not clean. Next to one of the beds, my granddaughter provided me with a full pill bottle from a previous guest. Shower curtain had mold and mildew. Bed blanket had what appeared to be red lipstick as well.
The room was dirty. Thick layers of dust in bathroom and a dirty tub. If we werent so tired, we wouldve asked for a room change. The breakfast was also not great. Coffee was cold and eggs were watery. And the selection was not what Ive come to expect from a marriot hotel.
Me and my elderly grandfather were checking in and he had to use the restroom the rude front desk staff stated they were closed, i found this odd due to Ive stayed at multiple Marriotts during the pandemic and all have had there public restrooms open, even the nearby places had their public restrooms open so I know this was not a county thing it was the hotel just did not want to do there job and clean them. The lady that checked us in was not friendly at all the front sliding glass door was broken and you had to pull it open manually, only one ice machine working in a 4 floor hotel. the breakfast was horrible apples and oranges and old coffee which i know breakfast has changed since covid but this was just plain ridiculous. The only good thing was the housekeeping staff seemed to be doing a good job and the lady that checked us out seemed to be doing every position in the hotel and was nice. The hotel seemed to be running as cheap as they possibly could with a full parking lot. i felt like i was at a motel 6 not a Marriott
SpringHill Suites Atlanta Buford/Mall of Georgia is located close to so much. Not only the Mall of Georgia, but many shops and restaurants and highways. The staff was amazing. Friendly and sincere. The room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen area was very helpful.
Rooms were very dirty. There was no pride taken or given to this particular hotel. It was also very outdated. This was a disappointing experience for a Marriott Hotel. It was very late when we checked in, or we wouldve left. I did receive a discount, but this experience makes me never want to stay at a Marriott property again
Felt like nothing was cleaned in my room. It was just not kept very well and everything was so wore out. Could not believe I paid what I paid. Ended up going to hotel next door and paying less for such a better room. Would not suggest staying here. Staff was nice and friendly but the room was disgusting.
The staff is very friendly. A room was available as soon as we arrived. The location was awesome. Breakfast was typical, nothing out of the ordinary. The vibe of this hotel was more business instead of family oriented. The room we stayed in is in need of some upgrades. The kitchen sink had a leak at the bottom. The bathroom sink faucet barely moved, we couldnt get the hot water to work. Also, there was no vent in the bathroom so make sure you bring some air freshener.
Great location right across the street from the mall. Nice big room with a desk area and couch and tv area. I was able to go to sleep early while my son stayed up watching tv. Bagged breakfast in morning in the lobby because of covid. It was a nice muffin and granola bar and bottle of water
Unfortunately this hotel was horrible. My family and I have stayed in several SpringHill Suites over the years and so we did not hesistae to book and overnight stay at this local hotel to be closer to the 4th of July fireworks show at Lake Lanier late in the evening. We chose this spot in Buford because of the advertised hot tub and pool on the website, thinking it would be best to swim in the hotel instead of the crowded lake. Well we arrived at the hotel only to see that the outside hot tub was surrounded by orange cones and yellow police-like tape. we checked in and asked if the pool was open and were told Yes. We checked in, went to our rooms and immediately changed for the pool. Once we got down to the pool, we were baffled with how disgusting it was. The pool was full of dead bugs and some tick foamy white substance floating around. The drained hottub was full of dirt and looked like it hadnt been cleaned in years. We complained to management about this and the manager offered to cause the neighboring Hilton to ask if we could swim in their pool. This made the situation slightly better as we were about to ask for a refund. We spent the rest of the evening out on the town. upon returning late that evening, we found the ice maker on our floor was out of order. Concerning the room, the beds were worse than my great grandmothers 1970s furniture. The sofa bed was fine but when the kids went to sleep on it, there were no covers or blankets in the room. We tried to call front desk about this - BUT OUR ROOM PHONE DID NOT WORK!!! Utterly ridiculous!! We just wanted to get through the night and were at least looking forward to the comfy breakfast of waffles, eggs, sausage, grits and eggs that we are used to at every Spring Hill Suites. Well, it never happened. Breakfast that morning consisted of watered down orange juice and english muffins with egg and sausage. This stay was an utter let down in all aspects and it will due this hotel right to rename this establishment Motel 6.
I definitely do no recommend staying at this hotel. We booked this room last minute and it was late when we arrived. Once in the room, we couldnt believe how dirty the room was especially during Covid. The toilet had never been wipe down, pee was all over the toilet seat. A dirty hand towel was hanging with the clean. After discovering this of course we starting checking out the room. The door handle, microwave in the room had fingerprints and extras on them. We went to the front desk to ask for some cleaning supplies but she stated they had taken them from her because she was cleaning too much and she was unable to give us her only one. I would think during covid a hotel would do a better job at cleaning. Im not one to complain about an experience but this was not good! If you plan to stay here I recommend bringing some cleaning supplies.
From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted warmly and with a cheerful attitude. The front desk was courteous and accommodating and each time we came or went not only greeted us, but also wished us well on our journey. Down to the housekeeping staff we passed in the hall, there were smiles and hospitality was displayed. The hotel had the same great Marriott quality and style as always, but the staff took the experience over the top for our family!
Location is great with many eating and shopping options. Highway in front of the hotel was very busy. Hotel staff was nice upon entering and exiting hotel. Parking lot filled up fast in the evening. Gym was not not serviced on a regular basis during my stay. My room was upgraded however I don’t really know why it was considered an upgrade as it appeared that it was the same size as other rooms. Rates were great for an extended trip.
I would never rate this place with 4 stars. The staff acts as if it is an inconvience for them to do their jobs. Every Marriot ive ever stayed at has had coffee out 24/7 , not here. The parking lot has looked like a trash dump for the last 3 days. The rooms are dated and mine was not clean upon checkin. Went to walmart got cleaning supplies, cleaned the bathroom before i felt comfortable using it. Could go on for hours . I understand the covid has things kinda wonky but this is terrible
I wish they had a 3 and a half. The room was clean, but the shelf in the bathroom had once been torn from the wall and they didnt bother to fix it right. The room was dated and seemed a bit well loved. If it was a motel 6, this would get 5 stars, but since this is a Marriott property (which is why I chose it) I expect more. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room service did a great job and I tipped them well.
The overall stay was good. The staff was very friendly & professional. Rooms were nice & clean. We had 2 complaints. Breakfast, no waffles during the week, only on the weekends. Muffins were very dry & didn’t have enough oatmeal. Also, housekeeping didn’t clean our room or take out trash out on our 2nd day. Housekeeper came by very early that morning, provided us with towels/wash clothes & never came back.
I’ve seen a whole lot better and I’ve seen worse. I’m really hoping that the reason this hotel is the way it is is because of Covid shower curtains look like they had been pooped and no water pressure in the shower only one bath towels to wash cloths two less than a fourth rolls of toilet paper no shampoo no conditioner no soap no trash cans it’s a good thing that it was just get away from the kids 9hrs total.
Dedicated Marriott business traveler here...... will not be staying at this hotel again. Hallways and stairwells were dirty, with trash, leaves, small debris throughout. A towel in my room appeared to be dirty and a few hairs were found on the bed upon arrival. The internet was down for an entire day. In comparison to most Springhill Suites, this hotel is outdated. The location is great, but there are other close Marriott hotels I will use in the future.
Staff was extremely helpful and was ready to help when able! Rooms were mostly clean and I liked the space of the suites for the price! Breakfast was not my favorite, I was so excited to stay at a hotel where they had a hot breakfast, but was disappointed when I got down there. I would recommend for the location, staff, and overall aspects of the hotel... just not the breakfast.
Our three night stay was great! The food was very tasty and true Marriott style. We especially loved the room and the the larger space in addition to the decor. The staff @ the registration desk was very pleasant and helpful. The housekeeping staff was very accommodating. Even as we passed each of them they would smile to us and was very friendly! We only stay at Marriott properties when we travel. We have decided that this Spring Hill suites will be our new home away from home! Thank you for upholding the Guests expectations of the Marriott brand.
Staff is friendly, breakfast area is loaded with options, lobby area is clean. Room had leftover food in refrigerator that smelled when we checked in. Phone was completely disconnected from the room. No ironing board just an iron and a empty ironing board hanger rack. Wash cloths were taken for cleaning and not returned. Definitely not my typical Marriot experience and utterly disappointed. Management did reach out after my stay which was nice so hopefully they improve.
This hotel suite was very small for a lot of money. Rooms were not serviced because of covid which is their excuse for being cheap & lazy! pillows were flat, overflowing trash cans, piles of wet towels , when youre staying multiple days is really gross. The only employee I saw was the front desk girl, who didnt care & would only give us one extra pillow.
I am only giving it a one star because that is my only choice. This is hands down the filthiest hotel I have every booked. I checked in, got to my room and checked right out. Floor was filthy, holes in the carpet, sitting water in the mini fridge. I was shocked this was a Marriott property.
The breakfast consisted of a sack with water, a granola bar and a packaged muffin. The front desk clerk when we checked in did not know how to reactivate our Bonvoy membership. During our 4 day stay the hallway was not vacuumed because there were bits of trash that were there the entire time. I never saw a person cleaning the common areas.
Hotel itself is clean and very comfortable. But the young lady who checked us in apparently doesnt know how to smile and make you feel welcome. She was more intrested in setting down and looking on her phone. Wouldnt even acknowledge you when you walked in. But we slept very well and lots to do around here.
Jordan was exceptional making the reservation ! Kevin was outstanding and went over and above his job duties! Incredible customer service! always direct book with a hotel never used Expedia they tried to rip us off Kevin solved problem! Again awesome people to work with give them a try!
Not a bad hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was polite and helpful. The continental breakfast setup was delightful and the food was good. The Mall of Georgia is right across the street from the hotel and also right on a busy road. At about 2:30 am on a Saturday people were in the mall parking lot racing and doing burnouts which was so loud it woke me up out of my sleep. I think I got woken up a couple times each night by some kind of loud vehicle. Overall the hotel is nice. While the location is convenient to amenities it is not conducive to quietness and serenity which some people value.
Enjoyed our stay very much. The room was comfortable and clean. The beds were great. Nice to have the sink separate from the shower area. Appreciated the fridge as well. The location is a short walk to many restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was great. Many options including waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, cold cereal, coffee, juice, etc.. Would highly recommend.
The hotel is nice and pleasant. It is in a great location across the street from the Mall of Georgia. But it needs some renovations to modernize it. The staff is friendly and Natasha is awesome!! But they take her for granted and it may cost them a great employee. My wife and I discussed with management some of the issues. If Natasha leaves we will definitely find another hotel. Hire a full time GM and make some needed changes and this hotel will be great and full once again!!
The service here was excellent from the beginning to the end. The room was nice and clean and roomy. I felt safe and it is convenient to shopping and dining.I checked out early Sunday morning and ate breakfast in the lobby with my luggage and I walked out and forgot my luggage and did not realize it until hours later. When I called the desk clerk described it and said I have it here behind the desk and when I returned he cordially asked for my ID and brought my luggage to me with a smile. Blessed my day and hoped I would consider Springhill Suites again. Of course I certainly will. Kudos for a great and safe place with a wonderful staff.
Hotel was clean. Lemon mint water at the lobby was awesome. Beds were very comfortable. Free breakfast every morning was a plus. The pool was small in size but enjoyed it overall. Only complaints i had were the constant asking for extra towels and beddings for the total number of guests on our reservations.
Very nice hotel, clean, nice decor. The only issue we had was the terrible mattress on the pull out bed.The breakfast was 100% THE BEST I have ever had!! Fresh scrambled eggs, good bacon and sausage, and fresh spinach and shredded cheddar cheese to mix with eggs!!! I want my heated, but didnt see a microwave. The woman who was taking care of the breakfast bar saw me looking around, she asked if I needed something. I told her a microwave, but the didnt have one. She did take it in the back and nuke it for me! Great employees!!!
We stayed one night here. Overall not bad. I will point out the carpet in our room needed to be cleaned better and the tile in the bathroom still had hair on it. The biggest thing was at 9:30 (Check-out at 12) we get a knock at the door. Before we could even get to the door the maid opens the door, sees that we are in there and asks if we were checking out at 12. She didn’t apologize or anything! Completely unnecessary. What if we had still been in bed?! We have never had the happen before.
Our stay was exceptional. We were with a group and had a total of 7 rooms, heard no complaints really other than trying to adjust the 2 thermostats in the room. The hotel staff was exceptional and made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for a great stay and will see you again next year.
It was very loud! Kids slamming doors at all hours of the night. My wife complained to the front desk several times. Nothing was done! The beds are small and weak. All of the appliances were out dated. The front door is locked 24 hours a day with one way in and one way out. WHY?!? Just not a good stay.
Very friendly hotel staff and very nice design. The bathroom could be updated and a couple of USB charging ports (besides the one on the alarm clock) would be useful. The bed was super comfy and the lighting was quite good for working. Also, nice location to multiple restaurants and across from the mall.
All went above board, what little noticeable item we saw was promptly taken care of before anyone could say a word. You staff was on it! You should know you hired well. Maids keep the rooms emaculate and definitely appreciated the tv remote being sanitzable. It just stood out to me is all. We were in town for a friends wedding, I was unfamiliar to the area and picked your hotel off VRBO. Completely satisfied will continue future stays with this location.
From my phone call to make my reservation, till we left, the service and kindness of all hotel staff was exceptional. Very clean and beds were extremely comfortable. My only complaint was the breakfast was not the greatest, but I know that is something that can be fixed. Its so nice to not get attitude or feel like you are bothering someone when you need something. I plan on staying here every time we go to Atlanta which is at least once a year.
This property is situated close to the interstate and is in a major business/shopping area across from the Mall of GA. There is no shortage of shopping/restaurants in both walking and driving distance.ROOMS: Spacious suites. The ones with 2 beds are two doubles rather than 2 queens which was fine for our purposes. Our suite was pristeen, sleeper sofa, microwave, mini fridge were all pluses.LOBBY-COMMON AREAS: Not as pristeen as our suite but no major complaints. Some of the carpet showed minor signs of wear and the same for some of the lobby furniture. Not enough to be a major deterrent but still noticeable.BREAKFAST: Standard free breakfast fare with a few noteworthy upgrades like bacon and croissants which I dont always see at free breakfast properties. The area was kept clean and well stocked. There was coffee/hot chocolate available 24/7 in the lobby and dispensers containing ice water with lemon.Overall, this is a well maintained property, with a friendly staff. The signs of wear in common areas were noticeable but minorThe staff was friendly, suites were spacious and the location convenient to the heart of the Buford area business district. I would stay here again.
Excellent location! Right across the street from the Mall of Georgia. Several eateries and other shopping areas nearby. The stay was pleasant. Nothing to complain about. Bed was very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The breakfast buffet wasnt the best but its complimentary so you get what you get. A huge letdown was the dirty pool. My kids were disappointed after learning they couldnt swim in the pool. Didnt appear to be serviced in a while. Overall, decent budget hotel but probably wouldnt stay again solely based on the food and pool
This hotel is majorly out of date! It is also dirty. We booked our room with points and I regret using my points on this property. Out of all my travels this year this was the worst stay. Im not sure how this is still classified as a Marriott property. They also still have full beds in the double rooms. We usually get a king but there wasnt any available when we booked. If youre looking for something in this area keep looking, there are nicer hotels.
The room was comfortable and clean as expected. Mini fridge and microwave made things very convenient. The front desk was exceptional, especially Jessica. She made us feel very welcomed and was there to assist whenever we needed anything with a smile. I would highly recommend this hotel.
This is a very nice property. It is right across the street from The Mall Of Georgia. I will likely stay there again. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and safe. Upon check in I was given a lovely treat bag with water and goodies. The rooms are all suites which gives you plenty of room to relax. The beds were very comfortable. Overall a very nice experience.
Rooms are nicely decorated, staff are friendly. Its a decent hotel within walking distance to the mall and restaurants nearby. The pool was not open when I stayed, it couldve been not yet open for the season yet. I asked for a toothbrush and they brought it to my room after 20 minutes because they did not have staff coverage. The staff that dropped it off was oddly disgruntled. I was here for a business trip, so my opinions are skewed likely since I didnt have to pay for the room.
A great CLEAN spacious room with comfortable bed & bedding. Shower was good height, hot water was EXCELLANT & good water pressure. Breakfast was nice with good selection seating area was full but accommodated most everyone that was there to eat. The area to get the food was crowded but people were kind & staff was on top of keeping it stocked! Friendly staff all the way around!
Im usually not the one to give a negative review so I will say this about SpringHill Suites. It was okay for the price we paid which was a little under $50 because of my discount with my wifes travel business but if I had to pay anything more than that I would have been disappointed. The Suit we were in was a bit borrow from the suits we usually stay in but for the price we paid, they were worth it. The first few nights were okay as far as comfort but when the weekend came there was so much noise in the hallways and someone running around above us that it was annoying. They obviously dont have security to oversee and keep order at night so that was a turn off. And lastly I was annoyed how the heater system works. When you put it on or over 80 degree, it lets out cold air for a period of time before it come back with hot air. So much hot then cold air in the room that my body couldnt take the different temperatures like that and I couldnt sleep.
I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The design style of the hotel is old, I think it is over-priced. A friend that we stayed in the hotel together had the shower head of his room fall off & his room wasn’t changed, neither was a room given to him to have his shower. The breakfast is basic & just okay. Nothing to write home about.
In town visiting brother in law and needed a nice decent place to stay so we chose this hotel based on reading reviews. Pros: Very friendly staff. Cons: Our room was so tiny! The underneath of the bathroom sink was leaking all over the floor, though they were able to give us a new room the next morning and all was fine. Shower was filled with dust and hair, clogging the drain. Hotel has no restaurant or bar. Coffee wasn’t made one morning. 3 stars.
I hate to do this but when I visit the Buford area I always stay here. This stay was horrible. The wifi didnt work for my kid games. The pool and exercise room was closed. The breakfast in the morning was really a brown bag special with a muffin, apple and granola bar with water. I wasnt told that room service didnt service your room. It was the hotel I was used to.
With pouring rain in Atlanta and multiple nighttime accidents, I decided to stay at this hotel. The front desk employee was warm, welcoming, and efficient. Parking is very good in lighted lot, room was SPOTLESS, and overall very nice hotel. I left without eating/coffee so no comment on that. Great stay in super clean room, very nice employees and great location easy to find!!
The staff at SpringHill Suites Buford are simply the best, better than all the rest. My family and I were there for our family reunion and we were treated like royalty. We truly enjoyed our stay. The room was good and clean. I had a room with a view. The bed was so comfortable that I found it difficult to get up every morning. I will definitely stay there again. The hotel is centrally located and I enjoyed that fact that restaurants and shopping were within walking distance. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Buford.
First off, My wife couldnt brag on Shay enough, this is who she spoke with when making our reservations, stating how friendly and cheerful she went out of her way to accommodate us as you were booked for the King Suites, but had one double room still available. Once we (my wife and I) checked in (Shay wasnt there). I took a shower and we went out to dinner, When we came back in we asked about the hours for the hot tub, only to be told it wasnt working, we asked about the pool and it was Closed (hadnt been open for the season yet), We went on to our room and my wife tried to take a bath but there was NO hot water. (we didnt think much about it that night as it was late and the hotel was booked), The next morning we had to take a luke warm shower.. NO hot water again. Then we had the bed issue. we have stayed with you guys several times.. but this time I was shocked.. the beds was awful. My wife and I both tossed and turned, swapping beds even (since we had a double bed because there was no Kings available) finally my wife ended up making a pallet on the floor and I slept on the couch. This makes the 2nd stay with you guys that has been a bad experience. (last time we stayed there the HEAT wasnt working and we had to change rooms but not before my I had to call the corporate office). Because of the other 6-8 times we have stayed here with NO issues, we will more than likely give them another try. We love the location to shopping and all the restaurants. I am basing my Review on ALL stays not just on these last 2.
Its a nice hotel where Id stay again. There isnt anything spectacular, but all of my expectations were met. The free breakfast is good. Theres scrambled eggs, bacon, and coffee. The room was clean and spacious. There was even a mini fridge and a microwave in the room.
This hotel is great if it were 1995. The amenities and price do not match. We had a larger king suite and there was only one night stand. That wouldve been fine if there was another plug near the bed to plug in a cell phone. They did have a clock radio we could have used for a plug, if we would have had a first generation IPOD because that was what it was for. The towels in the bathroom were dirty. The breakfast was cold and they were slow about putting out enough food during breakfast hours. So much for watching tv in bed. The television is positioned in between the sitting area and the bedroom and did not swivel very well, so unless YOU move the entire TV stand you cant see the television while laying in bed. This would be a 5-star hotel if it were 1995.
The tv in our room did not work. We had to change rooms. Their breakfast needs a lot of work. They had turkey bacon instead of real bacon. They need a lot more choices for breakfast. Front desk clerk upon check in could have been more personable. The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable
The staff was very friendly & nice, however, the hotel was outdated, our room stunk, the suite we stayed in was hardly a suite & to top it off it was dirty. My entire family left feeling dirty. Yes, we all showered but couldn’t wait to get home to bathe again. The bathroom had hair in it. The box springs on the beds were covered in stains. This place is not anywhere I’d like to ever stay.
This location needs a major, major overhaul. The carpets were dirty with stains all over them. Very poor lighting in the room and the sofa bed was extremely dirty. I was afraid to let my son sleep on the mattress based on how the sofa itself looked. The sheets for the sofa bed were also dirty with stains on them. The tube knob was broken and the room kept blowing cold air even after I made a request for the maintenance person to come and look at the system. We had to be moved from room 205 at check-in because, when I went to the door I noticed that the door was already opened. We reported it to the front desk and they moved us to room 315. I was very disappointed by the inside appearance of this hotel room especially when this is supposed to be a Marriott property and I am a Marriott rewards member. Unless this hotel receives a major facelift my family and I will never stay at a SpringHill Suites; not in Atlanta GA., or any place else as far as that matters.
Absolutely loved everything about this hotel. Its location near from Mall of Georgia was a huge plus for our group. Plenty of eateries around the hotel. Staff was exceptional, suite was beautiful, beds were comfortable, there is absolutely nothing I can say that is negative about our experience or stay. The staff goes above and beyond in a very courteous manner to make sure you are taken care of.
Always a pleasant stay at this hotel. Staff is always friendly and willing to accommodate if an issue ever arises. Had troubles with key cards a couple of times and one issue with an ac unit, but the staff, and I believe the manager, were very quick in rectifying the situation. Definitely a recommended stay!
We were charged $480.00 for smoking in the room and I don’t even smoke. I was treated poorly by the manager when I called to investigate the charges. We are deeply offended not only by these allegations, but the fact that your establishment deemed it justifiable to charge us for such false statements. My spouse and I are avid travelers and, until recent, thought very highly of the Marriott name. This issue has certainly put a bad taste in our mouths regarding staying in your establishments for our future travels.
The overall stay was satisfactory. I encounter issues with the front desk employee and the room. All the issues were brought up to the General Manager which kindly explained the situation and clarify all my concerns. I would stay in this hotel when passing through again.Update. Downgraded to 2 stars. Stayed again 11/23/2020. Overall status is old and not well kept. Rooms are falling apart. Room decoration is broken. First room 504 was not ready for us. Trash everywhere and stains in the carpet. Second room 420 was ok but with the motel feeling. I would not stay here again.
Nice hotel. great people. makes you feel like your at home. Best shower head ever in a hotel. the lady who is taking care of breakfast went out of her way many times to say hello and ensure that everything was a great experience, once of the nicest ladies i have met at a hotel. all the staff were extremely polite and pleasant!! check this place out if your around the area.
My stay was awesome. The hospitality was second to none. When I arrived I was greeted by smiling faces and warm hearts that made me feel at home. There was offering of a cold bottle of water which was what I needed after a long drive. The hostess also invited me to Monday night football party which was an added bonus with refreshments that were delicious and refreshing! The room was everything that was needed and requested at the reservation. Comfort and felt like home. Breakfast was a WIDE VARIETY of foods for whatever your preference was and it all was GOOD! I would recommend this place to anyone traveling or just want to get away for a minute. I am certainly looking at going back just to shop.
Great place. I love how the mall and other stores are within walking distance from the area.I was greeted by Lance who was super nice and let me know a couple restraunts to choose from in the area.Their gym is small... couple cardio machines and free weights. My room was decent, nothing major. I did notice some mold spots on the shower curtainI came down for breakfast thinking it was at 6am. But it’s at 630. First of all, the layout for breakfast was amazing! So ascetically pleasing to look at. One girl who was training a new worker politely told me that it wasn’t until 630 after grabbing a few items. This other older male repeated the same and gave me the up and down look which really wasn’t necessary attitude for how early it was. Small misunderstanding that is an easy fix.Overall great place and great location
Wow! I figured this place would be good, it is a Marriott after all, but it turned out to be great! Michaela at the front desk was there for me when I checked in, and again in the morning when I checked out. Had I gone with as little sleep as she much have had I would not have been half as awake as she, much less as happy and smiling and friendly and welcoming as she was. What an example of 5 star service! The room was good, though my AC panel was busted (it still worked, I just could t read the actual temp on the face of the wall mount). I wish there would have been a bottle of water in the room, but the microwave, tv, desk, fridge, sink, and bathroom were all top notch.Very quiet. Really enjoyed the night I got to spend here.Breakfast in the morning, was, well, it was ok. I wanted some bacon and maybe a waffle but those werent to be had, sadly. There was eggs and fruit and various breads though, so I made due. The juice selection was comparable to a cruise ship.Over all, 5 stars, but that, again, was really Michaela at the front desks fault. (No I dont know her. I have never met her before, she really was just that awesome).Bonus: free lollipops at check in.Also, here is a picture of my super cute daughter.
Our recent stay was fairly good. Check in was relatively slow but I dont think that is always the case. Room was spacious and looked nice. Our heating unit was fairly noisy during our stay and that is prompting me to give this hotel only an average rating. The rate was good and I would consider staying here again if the price was right. The location was good if you want to do some shopping at the mall.
Nice location, and the hotel is clean for the most part. The staff was good. The heating system is really annoying. The heat comes on and heats the room up, then the AC comes on... Then it repeats!!! The room never stays comfortable.I am also experiencing a very slow internet speeds as well.I can honestly say I stay in Marriott hotels over 100 nights a year, and it is very rare to have issues. It is very unfortunate that Im having these issues I really like the area. However I will not be staying at this hotel when I come to Atlanta.
After a long stressful travel from Ontario California to what I consider one of the worst airports in the nation Atlanta Airport, coupled with the drive from the airport to the hotel; I was pleasantly surprised at the welcome I received at SpringHill Suites once I arrived in the late evening hours. When I walked into the hotel there was a sign on the front desk indicating I was their honorary guest of the day and I was greeted with a friendly smile. I received a personalized Hershey Bar with my name on it with friendly expeditious check-in service. My room was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was average, but the coffee and waffles were great! The staff were attentive to my every need throughout my 3 night stay, which made me feel welcomed and comfortable. Thank you SpringHill Suites, Buford!
We arrived at the hotel on July 19th to check in. Gave us keys to a room on the 3rd floor. When we got to the room, room was not cleaned and dirty. Went back to the desk and they gave us a room on the second floor. Got to that room and that was not cleaned. Finally gave us a room on the 1st floor and that room was not up to par. Carpet had a wine or blood stain on it. Couch had unknown stain and the room smelled like mildew. Then 2nd night front desk called my room and said to keep the noise down somebody was complaining, told her it was only myself and my teenage daughter it had to be folks in the hallway coming from the pool, front desk clerk got really nasty and hung up on me. We have not had our beds made up in two days. Cleaning crew is just taking towels and trash and not making the beds. I do a lot of traveling, this is by far one of the worse hotels I have stayed in!!!! Beware don’t let the good reviews fool you!!
Nightmare experience at this hotel. Was told to come back in two hours by an incredibly rude guy ( Vernon hotel manager ) because the room wasnt clean and when we walked into the room after 3 hours, it was dirty with a person inside. On top of how bad everything was, they place a hold of $150 on your credit card that you get after 7 days?! After the many complications, I told them to just check me out and went to a Fairfield down the street... So glad I did, much cleaner and friendly.
We put guess there and evangelist that came give a campaign. The manager called the police on the evangelist, they say because his name was not in the room. Even though the lady that made the reservations was present and she showed them her ID. They were not even courteous to at least talk nicely and try to fix the problem. The manager, a black man, said he didn’t care when one of our church members told him that we always put our guess here and we have not have a situation like this. As a church and I, no one that I know, I will not recommend this hotel anymore to anyone. Good customer service fix if there is any misunderstanding or any mistakes. Not to the extreme of calling the police to get the client out of the room without resistance. And to a man of God.
Great stay every time. Roland, the front desk manager and support staff are phenomenal. He and they go above and beyond to ensure that the guest experience is nothing short of outstanding. The suites have all that you need for working, relaxing and resting, and the refrigerator and microwave are a major plus. The location across from the Mall of GA and block away from the interstate logistically also make it a great place to stay and the price is excellent for all that you get. I will continue to use it and recommend it to my family, friends and colleagues.
Our first time staying at a Marriott branded suites hotel. We were impressed with the layout compared to others we have stayed at. Staff was friendly. Especially considering we had a group of 30+ teens at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was mostly typical of hotel breakfasts. There were some choices not usually seen like spinach, cheese & salsa to add to eggs. Also danishes included delicious scones & the freshest muffins Ive found at a hotel. They also offered a strawberry flavored waffle batter. We will definitely look at Marriot brands for future trips
My husband and I stayed recently and were very disappointed. We have stayed at many Marriott properties. The room had a terrible filthy dirty odor from the moment we walked in. The bedding and sheets smelled as bad. There appeared to be blood stains droppings on the carpet. Which might explain the cracked-broken door to the bathroom. The ice maker wasnt working on our floor either. Overall, felt very uncomfortable and dirty.
Very nice family friendly hotel to stay in. The Mall of GA is across the street with a view from hotel. Breakfast was good. In room perks were great. Great hotel if you need to stay a while. You would feel right at home. Also separate area to get business done. Staff was pleasant. I will definitely return for a quick getaway.
Very nice updated hotel with nice size rooms. We stayed over New Years holiday to visit family, shop the mall and take care of some business in the Atlanta area. The hotel and rooms were very clean, beds, pillows and linens were nice and comfortable. Breakfast was nice with several options. Free internet was fine with no need for upgrade. The staff was friendly and pleasant. Overall we had a nice time and will return to stay here again.
Every time my husband and I get a chance to get away from the kids we travel to this Springhill Marriott Buford location. We’ve come to this location at least twice a year for the last 5 years. It’s definitely worth our 2 hour drive to get away. This hotel has Amazing customer service, the manager is very attentive and concerned about making your stay a great one. We come here for the great customer service, cleanliness of rooms, friendly staff, great location which is perfect for shopping, multiple eating establishments, and a pool and hot tube to relax in. When we arrived at our most recent stay, we were greeted with a friendly smile and a goody bag which had 2 waters and snacks which were perfect for our late night snack. There was a terrible thunderstorm that came in, yet the soundproofing of the hotel was amazing. There was continuous lightening and sideways rain, yet I heard no thunder claps.
No problems. I was on a business trip between Georgia and South Carolina. The hotel is minutes off the I-85, a very convenient location. There are many restaurants to choose from within minutes of the hotel. The room is clean, warm, with a refrigerator, microwave and sink. Mr. Lance, the evening front-desk representative. Mr Lance was professional, helpful, courteous, and approachable. Very knowledgeable and friendly, Mr. Lance is a great employee.
I have stayed at the Springhill Suites in Buford several times for business. It has typically been clean and efficient with friendly staff, although a bit run down. That is-until this current trip! I checked in on Sunday May 10th and realized immediately that there was garbage in my trash can from a previous inhabitant. I looked around the room, but everything else looked ok so I unpacked. I got into bed around 11pm in preparation for a very early Monday morning start. As I was climbing into bed I noticed a brown, smooshed substance between the nightstand and the bed. GROSS-I really hope it was chocolate(room 501)! I decided I would just tell them in the morning. However-once in bed I was a little restless and itchy/uncomfortable. Out of paranoia I got up and checked under the sheets, under the mattress pad. I saw a couple of unidentifiable black flecks and then a tiny (and alive) bug! I freaked out-not sure if it was a bed bug or not but it was a bug nestled into the crevices of the mattress so that is enough for me. I called the front desk and they moved my room (it was probably 11:45pm). The second room seemed ok-just very run down and of course I was unable to sleep. I took all of my stuff with me to work the next morning leaving it in the hot car all day in hopes that I would be able to switch hotels and that the sun would kill any potential bugs. Unfortunately for me, Buford is a VERY busy area and all other close hotels were booked. I called the front desk at Springhill and asked for my room to be switched again to the room I had last time with no incident (401). They agreed to accommodate me. As I did not get back to the hotel until around 6:30pm that night I had to re-explain to the woman at the front desk why the room change and she did accommodate me but didn’t see overly apologetic or concerned about my experience. After a thorough check of the second room and some disinfecting just to put my mind at ease, I went to dinner. When I returned I noticed there were several skinny moths outside my door and the door across from me. I immediately went down to the front desk. The girl sighed and looked a little irritated and then said she would make a note. She then proceeded to tell me they had comped my first night, as if to say-stop complaining! Honestly-this is of no help at all since I am away from home traveling for work and 1). Not paying for it out of pocket, 2). Just really want a clean and comfortable space to
A wonderful stay with a fabulous staff. The staff was welcoming, the common area was very stylish with West Elm design elements. My husband and I stayed for a couple of days while our house was under construction. Before we checked in, we cooked our meals at home and ate them in the hotel room. The little touches in the kitchenette came in handy (thank you so much) and the TV tables provided a great place to eat. Nice upgraded TV and cable system was a must for the MR. The comfy bed and great shower pressure was just what I needed (7.5 months pregnant). I cannot thank this staff enough for the accommodations =]
We had the worst service ever !! Leftovers seafood left in our room , dirty sheets on the bed , ask for clean sheets got flats and no fitted than got a wet fitted sheet to fit a king size bed ! The room phone didn’t work , than to top it dirty toilet and chewed gum on the stand !! I will never stay here again!! Hopefully everyone else will have a better experience than we did ! But I do have to say the manager apologized and gave a cut rate for one night and double points!! To try and make up for it ..,
Room was not ready when I arrived. I was asked if I could return, I arrived hour and a half past check in time. Given the excuse they were overbooked and housekeeping got a late start. Then I was put in a room next to ice machine, and near elevator, too noisy. Room was not cleaned properly on a daily basis. Each time I went to the front desk it was vacant and had to wait several minutes for assistance. Staff was not friendly. The only staff member that was friendly was the person who worked in the breakfast area. I have always stayed at this location when I visit family who lives nearby, will be looking for a different hotel when I return to visit family again.
I used to stay here all the time but recently the quality has gone down. We checked in last time after waiting for hours to get a room and the room was dirty and the tub had dirt and also the light fixture was mixing. We changed rooms and the tub was still dirty in that one. On my most recent stay i reserved a room and i was told i would be able to check into it at 8 or 9am. When we had arrived we had to wait a additional 2hrs for the room to be ready and again the tub had dirt in it. For $104 a nite plus $20 in tax i expect this hotel to meet high standards. I do not recommend staying here
We Stayed at your hotel for a week while we were in LA stunt camp we really enjoyed your hotel and we will definitely stay there again. Your staff was excellent your hotel was very clean and your amenities were great. I wish you offered those fabulous cookies more than one day.
Sahil was awesome! Great customer service and general manager that rolls up his sleeves to help his workers to make sure the hotel is cleaned and operating smoothly. I have never seen a general manger that helped house cleaning clean the rooms...it was refreshing to see :-)The hotel does need to be renovated. I would say to the owner of the hotel to make it a priority to renovate this SH Suites so it can continue to meet the high standards of Marriott brands.
Everything was great about this hotel. It was completely ideal for a weekend getaway. We went to visit family for Easter, but wanted some time to ourselves as well. Hotel was convenient to the mall and dining establishments. My only recommendation would be an onsite bar. Thats it! Hotel was clean, functional and staff was very friendly. Best sleep Ive had in months.
We stay for the Georgia Spring game weekend. We enjoyed our stay the staff was amazing and our room had everything we needed. The room wa was very spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The location was right across the highway from the Mall of Georgia and near many restaurants. It is next to Bruesters Ice Cream shop which we walked to and enjoyed as well. This will be our stay every time we are in the Athens area.
I was so impressed with the phone personality when I called to make the reservation. She was kind and seemed sincere in helping me. My assumption was confirmed when she greeted me at check-in. Her smile lit up the room and I felt right at home. My room was beautiful and provided everything I needed for my stay. I will be back!
We had no internet services in our room and in fact, my son tried in the hallway too at 4th floor, my son needed it badly to submit his University Assignments and he had to leave hotel for few hours in the middle of the night. There was no food when we came down for breakfast at 8:30 AM, Replenished food at 8:50 AM and then removed all food by 9:00 AM. There was no milk in thermos either. Guests were waiting for food and there was only 1 service person in the restaurant area to serve room full of people. When we arrived at the Hotel, there wasnt a pleasant greetings. There were no carts available to carry our luggage to our room from hotel lobby. We booked Suite and the sofa bed condition was horrible, not able to sleep.
Rooms are doing and comfortable. Had to keep the fan going, otherwise there was some sort of mildewy smell. They had a nice breakfast and fruited water in the lobby, with fresh cookies in the afternoon. Great location, near many restaurants and across the street from the Mall of Georgia.
Right from check in, received a room with faulty bathroom that leaked and whistled every 30 seconds. Staff quickly switched room out. Now on 5th floor, the hallway was 80 degrees. No wonder the owner gave us 2 bottles of water! We enter the room, and its slightly cooler than the hallway. I go to put the water in the refrigerator and thats not cold either, so I turn it up. I left to allow room to cool and to inform front desk. They said they would check into it. Later in the evening, I return to the room and it seemed cooler, but hallway was still hot and smelly. Bed was comfortable. Second day the room warmed up again. I left until the evening. Found and exterminated 2 roaches. Tub stopper is broken too. Staff was friendly. Need better upkeep of the room.
I had to stay here due to a sudden and tragic loss of a family member. The staff was full of compassion and kindness -making sure everything I needed was provided and even asked if I needed an early check in.My suite was comfortable, clean and WHITE which made the room appear so refreshing and full of light. The breakfast (complimentary) was wonderful- so much more than just fruit and bread. Hot eggs, waffles, GREEK yogurt, cereals, fruit, juices and more.Walking distance to EVERYTHING and anything you need or want-- (Mall of Georgia across street, Brewsters Ice Cream next door // Starbucks // Restaurants etc.)Great hotel, great staff, will stay again!
Was followed and questioned, by who I thought was the GM. Figured it was my first day, he wants to know new guests checking in.Two days later found out was regular staff. After that made the rest of my stay uncomfortable. Maybe change up the “breakfast” week to week.
I reserved my room for a wedding two weeks in advance. I requested early check in, and a quiet room on a high floor. My original email said that all my requests would be considered. Two other friends for the wedding requested their rooms the night before. I downloaded the app for faster check in. I was shocked when the app said my check in was at 3 (I requested 2) and had no way for me to actually check in. Then, the room we were given was on the ground floor next to the pool area (which was always crowded and loud). The app also said we would have a couch. Instead, we had a room with a long table and desk chairs. The friends who booked their rooms the night before were staying on the 4th and 5th floors, so I know availability was not an issue. The staff was simply did not look to see if I had made any requests. If we had stayed longer, I would have insisted on a different room, but for one night, it was not a big deal. The room was nice, bed was comfortable, and everything was clean.
Although the staff maintained an attitude of courteous professionalism, the state of the hotel could not be ignored. The room itself did not live up to the hype displayed on the web site. The pool was unavailable for the entire week that my wife and I were there. Television channel selection was very limited. And no automatic professional courtesy offered for the inconvenience of not being able to use the pool. If you the owner know the that the pool is broken, then you the owner should offer compensation.
The room was ok but when I book a room I EXPECT to have everything in the room that is supposed to be in the room!! We paid right at $150 for a King suite with sofa bed only to discover AFTER we have showered and are ready for bed that there is NO COVER for the pullout and NO PILLOW. Call the front desk to be informed that we would have to come down to the lobby(at almost midnight) if we want the items because they had customers in the lobby and couldnt come up. Why werent these items in the room...thats why I stick to Residence Inn. Why is it so hard for people to do their job...Im sure there is a checklist they follow when cleaning these rooms. Who checks behind housekeeping?
Was a good stay. Would recommend. Although the hotel was muggy and a little outdated for a Marriott, the room was cool and clean. Was charged full rate after booking govt rate. Not sure why. Was 30 dollars more. Didn’t know til it hit my bank. Booked king. Got a double queen. Room service knocked on the door at 9 abd checkout isn’t til noon. Was overall a good stay though.
The room has great space for work and relaxing and the doors do not slam like at other hotels! The windows are not soundproof so you can hear the construction going on next door at the Hampton. The breakfast is very lacking and only has turkey meat products. No real bacon or sausage, no fruit, hardly any yogurt
We stayed here for a wedding. We stayed in a suite with double beds and a sleeper sofa. This is an excellent location for dining and shopping excursions. The hotel and room were clean and up-to-date with comfortable, attractive furnishings and bedding, big flat screen TV, fast internet, in-room kitchen. My only quibbles were with the bathroom lighting being a little institutional and not makeup-friendly, and the limited bathroom storage.
The General Manager was present and I saw him more than Ive ever seen a manager when staying at a property. He was helpful and caring at all times! The sales manager went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of when booking our group and the finance manager worked with us tirelessly to make our stay perfect. This is a perfect location with the Mall of Georgia and so many restaurants available that you could eat somewhere different every night of the week and still walk to the location.
Check in on the 7th...1st room, the tv doesnt work. The 2nd room, seems as if someone already occupied the room by the looks of the bed. And 3rdly...all the snacks...even the 4pk chip ahoy cookies....$4.24 never in life!! would I pay that for a .50bag of chips or anything....thats unreal!
The customer service is outstanding however the cleanliness of the room was very disappointing. I had to request new sheets twice along with the room being cleaned again. The style of the hotel is outdated. I’ve actually stayed at several SpringHill suites and was surprised when I saw the style/design of this one. Not a terrible hotel just not what I expected.
While the location of the property was ideal for our situation, the room cleanliness had much to be desired. Bathroom shower area had black and pink mold. Front desk was notified but problem was never resolved during our visit. In addition to the bathroom, the design of the room was odd. When the sofa bed was pulled out, it touched the king bed in the room. It left no room to walk around so basically if the person in the bed had to use the bathroom during the evening they would have to climb over the bed?? We were offered another room but we thought the situation would have been taken care of the first day so we opted to stay in the room since we had unpacked.
The hotel was clean however there were damages to the room. My a.c. unit was missing the knobs to control the temperature and I was freezing some nights in the room. I feel like the hotel smelled like mildew sometimes as well. Overall for the amount of money spent I was not satisfied with my stay. I will not be back.
Marriott has done it again. This is my third stay at this hotel and it seem to get better with every stay. I look forward to the hot free breakfast, large room, the soft comfortable bed, the large flat screen TV, and first rate customer service. All of this is important to me when I stay at a hotel. Now, I am expecting this at all hotels but as of now I am scared to take a chance and wind up being disappointed. So, I have made up my mind and not to take a chance some where else when I know that my needs are being met here.
I began staying here in the spring as I come up frequently to visit my children who recently relocated to the local area. I have had nothing but great experiences with this Mariott and Ive been a loyal rewards member for years. This is by far the best customer service I have had in all my years of business and personal travel. Everything from getting new Keys to checking in to clean and spacious rooms was top notch. Along with the fact that there are so may great eating establishments and things to do nearby. I plan on having many more stays at this location.
Yes, the rooms were great... However, the rooms were already paid for in full prior to my arrival. Once I arrived the front desk stated a credit or debit card is needed to put on file for accidental purposes. She never stated they would charge my account $20.00 per day. I called and spoke with the front desk just now, which they state the policy and said my funds will be returned late Wednesday. Not to mention, I checked in 8/6/2016 and checked out 8/7/2016. Horrible customer service..... Horrible!

2022-04-22Great location. Our first room was fantastic , but had to move because the bed was extremely extremely itchy. The front desk was very accommodating. We moved to a different room and that one smelled like cigarettes. The curtains had some white floury texture to it, I honestly was scared to touch it. We brought our Ozone machine, asked if we could use it they said yes offered to move us but when we went to see that room, it smelled like wet towels. Decided to stick with the other room. I’m being honest, breakfast was horrible. The food was super dry, or hard or just didn’t taste good. House keeping was cordial. I’d say it felt more like a motel 6 than a hotel. The hotel Atmosphere was ok, my thinking is they need training and employee recognition. Overall it was an B+. Mostly because the mall was across and they have plenty of different places to eat and super close to the highway

2022-05-16Very nice souls. Ok, for those for whom the bed tolls-THIS IS THE PLACE. We make many trips back and forth from NC-FL. and well stay here again. The beds are a far better experience than one usually encounters. Thanked the nice lady at the desk before departing. Also, the breakfast bar is several notches above what is generally offered. Some Euro touches with cold cut/cheese offerings which can be enjoyed on a slice of nice whole-grain bread. rather than the white mush usually rendered. Yea! They permitted our small dog. There is a fee charged and refunded if no damage is noted. They dont keep it long... It is already back rebated back after our stay last evening. Well stay with these folks again joyfully. Stay here. Youll be glad you made the choice and so will your tired body after a night on those nice beds!!!.

2022-03-09I was working across the street and the company I work for had paid for me to stay overnight at this hotel. I had stayed in a SpringHill Suites before so I thought I would be fine staying in another one. I was terribly wrong about that. The customer service was horrible. I tried checking in and the desk clerk asked for the card on file. I explained to them that it was a company card which was not in my possession because someone else books the hotels for our employees. I also explained to the desk clerk that my boss should have already verified the card and I have never had a desk clerk ask for the company card before. She asked for a phone number or email so she could get in touch with the person who had the card and asked me to take a seat and wait. I was on break and really just wanted to get my personal things out of the card before it got dark. I couldn’t do that without confirming the card that had already been confirmed apparently. I called the hotel a few hours later which was like 7pm by then and asked if she had heard back. She stated no but if I wanted to stay at the hotel she suggested putting my personal credit card on file until they heard back. I declined that option because I would have had one problem on top of another. I finally got in touch with my boss and she called the hotel to fix everything but she told me before she called that she had already confirmed the card that morning right after booking it. The experience was so ridiculous I asked to never be booked in that hotel again. If I could give zero stars I would. If I knew the desk clerks name I would also post that here but all I can identify her with is having three nose studs on the right side of her face. And at one point the general manager was standing next to her and just looked at me while the situation happened. She did nothing to help either. The room I stayed in was also musty smelling and the couch was gross with stains on it.I stayed in the Country Inn and Suites down the road a few days later because I had to come back to the area and they were great with no problems.

2022-02-13You can’t buy frozen foods to keep in the hotel room because there isn’t really a freezer . The rooms and bathrooms and extremely outdated. Out of all of the hotels that I have ever stayed in this is in my top 3 LEAST favorite hotels and wasn’t my choice. The only way to run a nice hotel is to be willing to put money back into the building by updating the rooms every few years or at least updating the furniture.

2022-04-03This hotel was terrible. The rooms were outdated, smelled and curtains were stained. Not sure how you can charge that much and not invest into the hotel to make it better. We came in from NC and friends of our came in from Ohio to stay here and unknowingly, we both checked right back out after checking in. This hotel is in a great area and close to the mall, but I wouldn’t stay there if it was free. After a 7 hour drive, it was very disappointing to have to leave and find another hotel in which I paid even more for last minute reservations, but I didn’t care.

2022-05-13The rooms are old and out of date.Carpet stained and the bed literally is sunken in. So terribly uncomfortable . It had an old sleeper couch that was uncomfortable as well. Staff all very kind and nice but accommodations need a lot of improvement.

2022-04-15Hotel is clean, people are friendly and very helpful. The only reason for a 4 is the hotel is slightly dated. I would definitely stay here again.

2022-01-19Location, location, location! This is a wonderful hotel located in the middle of everything you will need during your stay. Restaurants, clothing, shopping areas and the mall of Georgia is at your doorstep. Oh yeah and the hotel is wonderful and breakfast is plentiful. The only downside is the parking lot is a bit cramped so if you’re coming with a camper, it might be a tight fit.

2022-06-27Tonya is one of the worst people I have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. She does not deserve her position and needs to learn basic communication skills.
